I've ended up buying this three times now. They have all been good umbrellas, my problem is leaving one behind when I go somewhere. It stores quite compactly, although getting it back down to that size needs a bit of strength. The button closes the fabric part and then I press the telescoping section in myself. Resting the handle against something solid makes that easier for me. Apart from that, 10/10. I'd love to report how one does after months of use, but the forgetting issue keeps getting in the way.

It's such a good looking thing.
Looking at this gray umbrella makes even a miserable day feel a little nicer. It's such a good looking thing. The reason I've held back a star is the effort needed to push the shaft down after closing. The button shuts the canopy, then you reset that last part yourself. Nothing wrong with it, just a bit firmer than I'd prefer, and certainly not enough to spoil it!
Patricia Fritz
my one small observation is the handle could be longer.
Only tried this in a little rain so far, but the button opens it nicely and brings the canopy down again. The telescoping part needs pressing down by hand afterwards.
It seems quite solid, with 30 ribs supporting the fabric, which looks reassuring but... my one small observation is the handle could be longer. A few extra centimeters would suit my hand better, otherwise very good.

Now I'm waiting for some actual rain to give it a proper outing.
We haven't had much rain here, so I've only tried this umbrella indoors so far! It feels well put together and looks even nicer than I expected. The cream white is really pretty in person. Opening it is quick and easy, and the canopy seems a good size for me. Now I'm waiting for some actual rain to give it a proper outing.

Such a useful umbrella!
Such a useful umbrella! Packs small for carrying, then opens wide enough that friends always try squeezing beside me!I'm a grad student with far too much to lug around, so having decent rain cover without another long thing to carry really helps. Looks smart and has been dependable.

So, so pleased with this umbrella!
Got this just before a windy rain and it kept me dry. Mine stayed in shape while people nearby had umbrellas turning inside out. Really appreciate being able to open it and close the canopy with a button, too. So, so pleased with this umbrella! I'd happily shop here again.

A nice quality umbrella and I'm glad I chose it.
I was looking for an umbrella to take to a friend in Ireland and wanted something that felt like a proper present. It looked nice in the picture and I liked it when it came. I was running short of time before the trip so it was a relief to have it ready to pack. It opens easily and the material feels good, not flimsy. My friend was very happy with it. A nice quality umbrella and I'm glad I chose it.

What I would alter most is the handle.
I bought the Black Haven and feel I've made a good choice with this one. It came neatly packed, with a sleeve to put it away in. The whole thing has a fairly substantial look, but still looks smart rather than bulky.
The sleeve itself is only okay in my opinion. It is a snug fit and getting it off takes a little more fiddling than I'd like. Once opened, the canopy gives a good amount of coverage for one larger person, or two people staying close together. The frame feels strong and has some flexibility when a gust catches it.
I like how the button gets it fully open from its folded position. Pressing it again brings the canopy shut, then you push the telescoping shaft back down by hand. Both parts of that operation have been straightforward for me. Packed away it is shorter than a regular full-length umbrella. Certainly not a tiny pocket one, but a reasonable size to carry considering the coverage you get.
What I would alter most is the handle. There isn't quite enough length there for my hand to feel really settled on it. The oval loop seems solid enough, it just doesn't give me that completely confident grip. A slightly more comfortable shape for holding would suit me better. That aside, I think this is an excellent umbrella and I'm happy to keep using it.
Overall:
Pros -
* Smart appearance
* Sleeve included
* Generous canopy
* Frame feels sturdy
* Manageable folded size
* Button opening and canopy closing
Cons -
* Sleeve a bit awkward to remove
* Short handle isn't the most comfortable grip

1) The coverage is good for me.
How much is there to say about an umbrella? It keeps the rain off, which is the main thing. Wind still makes things awkward around here, and I don't think any handheld umbrella solves that completely. But this is a nice everyday one, without being anything miraculous.1) The coverage is good for me. As a mom I can tuck a child close beside me, though it's not the enormous family-sized kind.2) It folds down well enough to go in my bag rather than needing to be carried separately.3) Opening with one hand is wonderful! The button also brings the canopy in. You do have to push the shaft down yourself afterwards, so it isn't entirely a one-handed job from start to finish.4) The cream white is pretty! I like the simple look much more than I expected, even on a miserable day.The quick opening is what makes this one especially useful for me when I'm dealing with children as well as the rain. I'd pay a little extra for that convenience. Otherwise it's a perfectly decent umbrella, with the usual limitations in sideways rain.

It arrived without a long wait and I'm really pleased with it!
It arrived without a long wait and I'm really pleased with it! The difference from the flimsy umbrellas I used before is noticeable as soon as I pick it up. The frame feels substantial, the fabric sits neatly, and the opening action is smooth. I've had it out in rain with a breeze and haven't had it turn inside out. Of course it is still fairly new, so I can't speak for years of use, but the construction gives me a good first impression. There are plenty of flexible ribs supporting the canopy, and it keeps me comfortably covered. I'd happily recommend it.

About half what comparable ones I looked at cost, so good value to me.
just arrived, have tried the button several times to open and close the canopy, no trouble. checked the fabric where it meets the frame and it seems firmly fastened. the material has a heavier feel than my usual umbrellas, makes me think it should hold up. About half what comparable ones I looked at cost, so good value to me. I wanted a step up from the $7 or $8 kind without spending a lot. The button takes a deliberate press, doesn't go off too easily. Most of these checks were because of the few negative comments I'd read, not the majority. Hopefully useful to someone.

saw a review worrying about rain coming through.
i spent ages comparing umbrellas for price and how solid they looked. saw a review worrying about rain coming through. well i used mine yesterday and my clothes were dry. 1-it covers me properly without carrying a massive umbrella and 2-the rain stays OUT. that's what i needed, not much point having one if u still get wet. happy i chose it.

I keep reaching for this umbrella now.
I keep reaching for this umbrella now. Press the button and it opens smoothly. It's managed the autumn gusts well. Folded, it fits in my backpack -- not really a purse umbrella. Best of all, the canopy actually covers me AND my oversized messenger bag, rather than leaving the bag poking out getting wet.Cons: Can't think of any.
Brianna Chen
Good value, does the job.
Good value, does the job. The canopy gives me decent coverage (I'm 6') and the frame feels reassuringly firm. It isn't a particularly fancy looking umbrella, and the handle has a fairly basic finish, but that doesn't bother me much for what I paid. It's been fine in a bit of wind, though I haven't put it through anything serious. I'd recommend it to someone who wants a practical folding umbrella rather than paying extra just for appearances.
Shawna Sheppard
it feels ridiculously good for what it cost.
it feels ridiculously good for what it cost. not flimsy junk, actually f'ing SOLID, and it looks FANTASTIC. I cannot believe I'm this excited over an umbrella! A fan picked it from my wishlist as a present and honestly that makes it even sweeter. SO damn happy with this!
Patrick Weaver
It seems strong and has kept the rain off me well.
After using it on some pretty WINDY days I have a lot of confidence in this umbrella. It seems strong and has kept the rain off me well. Four stars only because it gets a little heavy to hold for long. not sure how much of that is the frame but it does feel quite substantial. For my short bus journeys to work that isn't much of an issue, a whole day of walking might be different.I liked it enough to get another, so there's one at home and one at work. i'm hoping these will last me a good long while.
Trevor Barnett
A Great buy for what it costs.
A Great buy for what it costs. Opens out generously, strong frame and the material seems very decent. I wasn't expecting much when I unpacked it, honestly thought it might be a flimsy little thing. Instead it looks as though some care went into putting it together.Very pleasantly surprised. If your after good coverage in a folding umbrella, have a look at this.

i think it'll be useful for wet days and there's enough cover for my bag as well. the beige is a little warmer than i pictured from the photos, which is my only real gripe. I was after something more neutral, but it still looks fine with most things. i don't mind enough to stop using it, especially since the umbrella itself seems sturdy and folds away without much fuss.

Feels strong, looks smart, and best bit.....
Feels strong, looks smart, and best bit.....there's proper ROOM under it. Two people standing close can share rather than one getting all the drips. I don't see why an umbrella needs to be just for ladies anyway. The gray would suit anyone, and it doesn't look dainty when you're holding it. Not quite king of the entire weather system, but definitely more dignified than huddling under a tiny one.
Brad Mckenzie

I picked up one of these two years back because I needed an umbrella and didn't give it much more thought than that. It ended up living in my car and coming out whenever the weather turned wet. Between rainy days, windy days, and being tossed onto the seat in a hurry, it did very well for me. Then a few weeks ago I left it behind in a grocery cart, which was entirely my own fault. That's why I'm looking for the same one again rather than taking a chance on something else. I do compare prices before buying, but I'd rather pay a little for one I already know I like than just grab the cheapest umbrella.

Didn't have very high hopes for how this would look when it came, but I was wrong, the blue is lovely and it feels good too! I've had several umbrellas in this style now and somehow they seem to walk off with other people, apparently I am not the only one that likes them, would rather they bought their own though. Hoping I can hang on to this one for a good while, and I am thinking of getting another for my 15 year old daughter in a different colour, she would like one too. Easy to open and a nice size, I LIKE IT A LOT, glad I ordered!
Nina Friedman
Nice to give a useful present that actually gets carried.
Did a fair amount of comparing before choosing this as a Valentine's Day present for my wife. She works at a hospital in a built-up area, and the walk back to her parking spot gets quite breezy. She wanted something that felt more dependable in wet weather. She's delighted with this one and takes it along whenever rain is in the forecast. Nice to give a useful present that actually gets carried. A successful choice on my part!
Kendra Schneider
I chose cream white for her.
After using mine for a few years, I felt confident choosing one for my daughter as a gift. It has been a good umbrella for wet, windy days, and feels worth the money compared with the flimsy ones I've owned. The only downside for me is that it's a little heavier than I'd ideally carry. I chose cream white for her. She walks across a wide open parking lot to get to work, with very little shelter on the way, so I think she'll appreciate having something that feels this solid.
Shirley Chase
A very good value umbrella, with enough coverage for one adult.
A very good value umbrella, with enough coverage for one adult. The framework looks more substantial than others I considered around this price. The overall construction gives a good impression, and with sensible handling and drying before storage I would expect it to last for several seasons.
Neil Gamble
The button is handy when I'm trying to get moving from the car.
Working in the city means parking a few minutes from my building, so a quick shower can still leave me pretty wet. I already have a big umbrella, but carrying that every day is a nuisance. Wanted something I could keep with me just in case, and this has worked out very well! It packs down to a manageable size, yet once open there's enough cover for me without feeling like I'm holding a tiny emergency umbrella. The button is handy when I'm trying to get moving from the car. The only thing I notice is that the canopy still catches a breeze, so I do need a proper grip rather than holding it loosely. Doesn't make it feel flimsy, just something to bear in mind when walking between buildings. Heavier than the really tiny ones I've used, but I'd rather have the sturdier feel. Overall it's a very practical compromise for my walk to work and I'd gladly get the same one again!
Karl Dyer
What a nice umbrella!
What a nice umbrella! the black looks much smarter in person than I expected from the pictures. When I first opened it I wondered if it was more umbrella than I needed, but a few outings changed my mind. That extra coverage is actually lovely. The oval handle is another thing I like, a little different looking and easy for me to carry.
Gabriella Floyd
Such a cheerful umbrella!!
Such a cheerful umbrella!! The pink is lovely and I've had people smile when they notice it. So many umbrellas around me are gloomy colours, why not carry something that makes a rainy day a little nicer :)The button is the part I'd hate to give up now. Press for opening, press again to collapse the canopy, then push the stem in to pack it away. Getting in and out of the car is much less of a performance. I don't miss standing there trying to gather a wet umbrella closed by hand.
Drew Robertson
A practical choice if you need an everyday umbrella.
The oval loop handle is comfortable to hold and clips onto my bag strap when I don't want it in my hand. It's a sensible size for one person, with a beige canopy that looks understated rather than dreary on a wet afternoon. Living in Louisiana means plenty of summer downpours, and I've been happy with the cover it gives me. Folds up neatly afterwards too. A practical choice if you need an everyday umbrella.

Summer in a business suit is no fun.
Summer in a business suit is no fun. I'm happy to be the man carrying an umbrella in sunshine if it means being more comfortable. It makes a noticeable difference as soon as I hold it overhead. Looks smart enough with work clothes, too, and the construction seems solid. I may yet convince a few more men that carrying your own shade makes sense.
Sheri Braun

The pink colour was what caught my eye, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how solid the umbrella is too. Some compact ones I've owned felt hopeless as soon as there was a breeze. This has coped well with the gusty weather I've used it in and still packs down to about 40cm, so it's easy enough to take along. The button action is handy, opening it and collapsing the canopy again. My one reservation is the effort needed afterwards to compress the telescoping shaft. It does reset properly, I just wish that final push needed a little less force.
Bruce Browning
She's used it in rain and blustery weather without a problem.
I was tired of paying for flimsy umbrellas for my wife that barely lasted. This one has been a much better purchase. She's used it in rain and blustery weather without a problem. Not another throwaway. She LOVES this little thing and I don't mind what it cost!
Jorge Garcia
First rain of the year turned out to be pretty blustery.
First rain of the year turned out to be pretty blustery. A gust flipped the umbrella inside out, which I can't say shocked me. The ribs flexed instead of staying bent, and I got it back into shape and carried on. Nothing damaged that I could see. I also appreciate the closed loop handle, because there's something there to get a proper grip on. The sleeve is useful for keeping it all together afterwards. No elaborate wrestling match just to put it away... well, apart from my usual inability to fold fabric neatly (surely I'm not the only one)
Courtney Padilla
Nothing to complain about so far, a good purchase.
Only used it twice so I can't really speak for long term durability, but both times it did exactly what I needed. The frame gives the canopy a more substantial feel than I expected, without that flimsy feeling some umbrellas have. Nothing to complain about so far, a good purchase.
Cesar Greene
After a couple of rounds, it's doing what I wanted.
I use this for shade while golfing because I'm very fair and spend a lot of time out on the course. After a couple of rounds, it's doing what I wanted. Having something over my head makes the sunny stretches much more comfortable, without making my arm too tired to play. It's simple enough to put up or take down as needed. I'm only 5'1" and it still doesn't shade my legs, so sunscreen there is definitely staying part of the routine. Useful overall, even if it can't cover every bit of me.

4) For what I paid, I'm really pleased.
1) I was mostly nervous that the black would look faded compared with the photo, but mine is a proper deep black. Small victory! 2) Putting it away hasn't been a struggle for me. Press once to gather the canopy, then compress the telescoping section by hand before wrapping it up. The sleeve needs a bit of patience, like most umbrella sleeves, but I haven't had to wrestle with it. 3) It has been out in the rain twice and spent another two days rattling about in my enormous, cluttered tote. Everything is still together. It isn't enchanted armour (unfortunate, I know), so I am not going to fling it on the floor or demand that it packs itself away instantly. What is the hurry?? Treat it like an umbrella and not a stunt prop. 4) For what I paid, I'm really pleased. Looks nice, keeps me dry, and is perfectly manageable to carry. I would happily suggest it to somebody wanting a folding umbrella.

Very happy to have found one since.
I'd spotted this in a local museum and regretted not getting it while I was there. Very happy to have found one since. The button opening AND closing the canopy is so handy. It got turned inside out in a wet, windy spell today, but went back into shape without any trouble. Feels properly made -- not flimsy at all. There is a good amount of coverage for something that folds away.
Levi Mcfarland
Decent cover, two people can tuck in close if needed!
Decent cover, two people can tuck in close if needed! There is a button for the canopy, so don't expect a completely manual umbrella. You do still push the shaft back in yourself, which doesn't bother me. The ribs have some give to them too, handy when a breeze catches it. Suits me!
Melissa Newman
It feels really sturdy, and the green is lovely.
This is umbrella number THREE for me -- I'd buy another if I had to. It feels really sturdy, and the green is lovely. What keeps me coming back is closing the canopy with that one button. Getting into the car during a downpour, the LAST job I need is wrestling with an umbrella through the doorway. A press and it's folded, then I can shut the door and be out of the rain!My original one ended up with a friend at the train station. She was heading to her train when the rain suddenly started, so I did the gallant thing and let her take it. I expected it would find its way back eventually. It didn't, and I bought a replacement. That second one disappeared at a meeting last month. I could pin down the day and called around to every place I'd had meetings, without any luck. I suspect somebody spotted a nice umbrella and decided they'd found themselves one. Anyway, number three has just been ordered today.

We needed another umbrella after ours was confiscated at a game.
We needed another umbrella after ours was confiscated at a game. I hadn't expected this much coverage from a folding one (probably should have read more closely), but it's been a good buy. Nicely put together, plain without looking cheap, and handy to pack away. I'd certainly choose it again. Back to game day!
Joshua Wood
But it has been a very good umbrella so far.
The black underneath wasn't something I had really noticed in the picture. I expected green on both sides, so wasn't sure what to think about it at first. But it has been a very good umbrella so far. I might think different once it gets tested by the wind that usually finishes off my umbrellas. Hopefully not since this one is quite smart looking and useful. For the rain I have used it in it has done everything I needed.
Lydia Mora
A little dearer then a normal Umbrella.
It seems a sensible design. The handle's loop feels secure in the hand and the frame has a reassuring weight to it. After the first week, I'm quite impressed with how it goes up and how solid it feels open. A little dearer then a normal Umbrella. Still, I'd rather pay a bit more for something that looks like it will last. Not the tiniest when folded, but practical enough for me.
Taylor Perkins
Has worked excellent for my needs!
Health issues mean I need to stay out of direct sun, and living somewhere hot makes that awkward. I wanted an umbrella I could keep in my bag and manage without a struggle. This is easy to open, comfortable to carry and gives me a useful patch of shade. Has worked excellent for my needs!

It sits comfortably in my fairly big purse so I can keep it with me for those sudden summer showers. The gray is nice and easier to spot among the black umbrellas in the stand. I did think the button would finish the whole closing process, which is probably me not reading carefully enough. It folds the canopy in, but you have to press the telescoping pole down yourself to pack it away. Nothing wrong with that, just one more step than I was expecting when I bought it.
Rachel Koch
In a gust the ribs can give instead of just resisting everything.
After about two years with my first one I decided to keep another at home. The original still looks decent, no tears, and the button action has stayed reliable. It is a flexible frame, which I think is worth bearing in mind rather than expecting something rigid. In a gust the ribs can give instead of just resisting everything. Getting an umbrella settled again is not much fun with a bag in the other hand, but I'll take a bit of flex over something that snaps. For my use it has lasted very well, so buying a second felt like an easy choice.
Mario Huber
The green has a lovely richness to it and looks very nice in person.
The green has a lovely richness to it and looks very nice in person. I picked this as a present for a friend, and am satisfied with my choice. I had first noticed this style in a catalog, so it was already in mind when I was deciding what to give. Something attractive but useful too, which I always like in a gift. The umbrella itself feels well put together. Thank you for a product I can feel good about giving.

I've learned that a decent umbrella saves a lot of aggravation.
I've learned that a decent umbrella saves a lot of aggravation. This one feels properly made and the automatic opening is just so convenient. Can't understand why that isn't standard everywhere by now. I'd happily stick with these for future purchases, and we have a few at the office ready for anyone caught without one.
Joyce Conway
Lovely little umbrella, and with a bit of help he enjoys using it.
My husband picked up a little umbrella at a yard sale for those quick trips between the house & car. Our grandson, who is 3, took a real liking to it & wanted to have a go. His grandpa showed him what to do and he looked so pleased with himself. Well, I couldn't resist getting him his own new one (the old one was perfectly usable... grandmothers aren't always sensible!). He wanted to share it with his mommy straight away so she would stay dry too. Lovely little umbrella, and with a bit of help he enjoys using it.
Kimberly Hammond
it isn't much to carry either.
four stars from me for the nice appearance, good coverage and generally solid feel. it isn't much to carry either.the little pieces at the ends do look rather plasticky and cheap, which is why i stopped short of five stars. still, at this price i wasn't expecting fancy finishes everywhere. it feels like a well put together umbrella overall, and i don't think i'd easily find a better one for the money.
Kristine Vaughn
Very good coverage from a folding umbrella.
Very good coverage from a folding umbrella. The handle is the part I especially appreciate, which sounds like a small thing until you have older, arthritic hands. Mine can grip it without feeling cramped. It opens readily and there is room for two if you keep close, plenty for one person. The gray is understated and the canopy also makes useful shade in sunshine. I like that the ribs have some flexibility rather than feeling completely rigid. It has felt sturdy in use, with a little give when a breeze catches it instead of fighting against my hand.
Adrian Riley
the canopy goes up and folds down without fuss.
I've had this umbrella about a year now and it has dealt well with several wet, windy days. Opened out it gives me a useful amount of cover, but it isn't one of those enormous umbrellas for two people. The oval handle feels solid and the framework has stayed in good shape. Both button actions have been reliable; the canopy goes up and folds down without fuss. My reason for four rather than five stars is the effort needed to push the shaft back to its folded length afterwards (that part is done by hand, not by the button). At this price I would have preferred that final push to be a bit easier,
