For showers and sunny days... I'm happy to have this umbrella. Opened up it gives me the coverage I wanted, and I can manage the folded size fine. Keeping it at four stars for now....not that there's anything wrong, I just want longer using it first. If it does as well over the coming months I'll change that to five. Until then, happy with the purchase!

5 years on and it still works just as well.
Has handled breezy days better than the umbrellas I had before it. Surprising amount of cover once it is open, considering how neatly it folds. The stitching looks good and the frame feels secure. I can see myself keeping this one for ages. Being able to open it or bring the canopy down with a button has spoiled me for the old kind.1.5 years on and it still works just as well. I keep it in my car door, where it sticks up a little but doesn't move around. Lost one of these along the way and replaced it with another one. No desire to go umbrella hunting again, this suits me perfectly.

The carry sleeve it comes in is a nice extra to have.
I haven't unfolded this because it is going to be a gift and I want to leave it looking untouched. The carry sleeve it comes in is a nice extra to have. Just from holding it and looking over the finish, it seems a sturdy umbrella and better put together than the cheap folding ones I normally come across in local shops.

I can wait rather than pay the extra.
The one I picked up in a shop two years back was a bit of an impulse buy, I just needed a decent umbrella. It handled heavy rain, windy days and getting tossed into my car in a rush without any trouble. I'd still be carrying it if I hadn't left it in a grocery cart a few weeks back. So I'm looking for the same one again, because I really did love using it. I'm going to look in shops rather than pay more online, though. With postage added it's another ten dollars, and the one I had only cost fifteen in the shop. I can wait rather than pay the extra.

I rarely write anything on here, but this umbrella deserved a mention.
I rarely write anything on here, but this umbrella deserved a mention. We had a couple of rainy days on our vacation and my wife and I found ourselves laughing about the umbrellas more than anything else. People around us were struggling to keep theirs under control, and ours just got on with keeping us dry. I wasn't expecting to be so interested in an umbrella! It felt secure in my hand and didn't turn inside out in the gusts we encountered. We were both glad we'd brought it along. Not much more to say really, it did its job very well.

Mine has been useful through plenty of heavy Caribbean rain.
Mine has been useful through plenty of heavy Caribbean rain. Being tall, I appreciate having enough cover rather than water coming down my shoulders. Small umbrellas often leave too much of me sticking out, which gets tiresome. It is a little bulky to carry, but that seems a fair trade for the room when open.UPDATE: After five years there's some wear from use, and I'd happily choose this one again.

I'm very happy with how this turned out.
I'm very happy with how this turned out. Choosing from an online picture always makes me hesitate, but it feels like a properly made umbrella when you hold it. The price is a little higher than I'd normally pay, so that is my one reservation. I picked it around Christmas and wanted something nice rather than purely basic. In person it looks even lovelier than I had hoped!

Friends have liked mine enough to get their own, and my wife chose the same again after losing hers. I mostly appreciate it for shade, it makes standing in the sun much more comfortable. Point it toward the sun and it keeps that glare off you without feeling closed in

Easily my favourite umbrella so far.
Easily my favourite umbrella so far. After alomost a year of use it still seems just as sturdy as when I first tried it. Press once and up it goes, no fiddling about trying to get it into shape. I've had some nice comments about how it looks too! Living in Oregon means it gets used a lot, so I'm not basing this on one quick dash through a shower. I used to find umbrellas such a fuss but this one is so easy. Definitely one I'd recommend to anyone wanting a good everyday umbrella!

The little umbrella I used in between never felt as dependable.
After leaving my previous one in a cab, I was pretty upset and eventually ordered another. The little umbrella I used in between never felt as dependable. This has enough room for me without my shoulders getting wet, and another person can squeeze in, though I wouldn't call it roomy for two. I'm six feet tall, so that matters more to me than making it absolutely tiny. It folds down enough to fit in the outside compartment of my carry-on, which makes it useful for work trips. It does take up a bit more space than my smallest travel umbrella, but the sturdier feel is worth that to me. I've been comfortable using it in wet, breezy weather. For someone who travels regularly, I think it's a sensible choice and would recommend it.
Alison Valenzuela
I'll do the same with this one rather than pack it up wet.
I got five years out of my last one before I managed to leave it behind somewhere. It was still in decent shape, which made replacing it with the same kind an easy decision. The stretches between tall buildings downtown can be rough on umbrellas, both in San Francisco and Manhattan, and mine coped better than I'd expected. One thing I noticed with the replacement is how readily the drops come off when it's new. That seemed to get less noticeable as the old umbrella aged, although it still kept the rain off just fine. I usually gave it a shake and let it sit outside the sleeve for a while afterwards. I'll do the same with this one rather than pack it up wet. Nice to have a fresh one again, and hopefully I'll manage to hang on to it this time.

Overall it does what I needed, just that small reservation.
I'm a six foot man and usually have a messenger bag over my shoulder. My old umbrella seemed to cover my head and not much else when it really rained, so I wanted a bit more room without looking like I was carrying a beach umbrella. This gives me better coverage over my shoulders and bag, and has the straightforward, professional look I was after. The one thing stopping me giving five stars is the oval handle. For my hands it's slightly small, though I can still hold it comfortably enough. Overall it does what I needed, just that small reservation.

Love having this umbrella.
Love having this umbrella. I've only used it a few times (naturally the rain eased off just after I replaced my old one), but it's been easy to manage on those occasions. The coverage is good for me, and my hair isn't getting damp round the edges anymore. I find the oval handle easy to carry as well. It's gray, looks nice and doesn't feel like a nuisance to take along. If things turn out differently when the rain starts up properly again I'll come back to this, but right now I'm very content with it.

The stitching looks neat and the handle has a careful finish, with materials that feel quite luxurious for a folding umbrella.
It is not the smallest or lightest thing to leave in a bag every day, so that may matter to some people. For those who prefer a solid, well finished umbrella over minimum weight, I would recommend this one.
Dennis Hall
It feels lovely and I particularly like the oval loop handle.
No rain since this arrived, so all I've done is put it up and have a good look. It feels lovely and I particularly like the oval loop handle. I'm looking forward to taking this umbrella out when the weather turns! Nice finish--money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

When his went missing I let him have mine.
We started with two of these about a year back, one each for my husband and me. When his went missing I let him have mine. Well I learned I CANNOT be without one, so another was ordered straight away. One press to get it open and I can get on with things instead of fiddling around. Wouldn't do without it!

The reason for four stars is the weight for my younger boy.
I ordered one each for my boys, who are 8 and 6, for our walk to school. We do it most days, about three quarters of a mile, and wanted umbrellas they would actually be happy to carry. These have worked well. They like having their own and I like the beige, although it isn't a colour that really stands out on a dull morning. There's decent coverage without having a long umbrella to lug about afterwards. The reason for four stars is the weight for my younger boy. It is fine for getting to school, but he doesn't want to hold it for ages once the rain stops. Not a huge problem, just something to think about if buying for younger children. At home we leave them open to dry before putting them away. Overall they've been useful for our regular walk.

First impression: Nice size.
First impression: Nice size.Figuring it out: The button shuts the canopy, not the whole pole.Pros: Enough cover for meConvenient buttonFits in my bagCons: Pushing the pole down takes a firmer hand than I expectedWet fabric can drip when you fold it (fair enough, but worth knowing)Additional Notes: I initially stood there wondering why it was still long after pressing close. Then realised the telescoping part is meant to be compressed by hand. That's how it's meant to work, I'd just misunderstood. Much less confusing once I'd done it a couple of times. I still use it and like the convenience, though I do let the water run off before packing it away.

People have stopped to say how nice it looks and ask about it!
Four months of walking about and waiting at a sunny bus stop, and this has been such a help! Having my own patch of shade makes standing there much more comfortable. People have stopped to say how nice it looks and ask about it! Not a burden to carry and it goes in my handbag once folded. A real summer essential for me!
Kellie Ponce
It looks strong and is a good size when open.
It looks strong and is a good size when open. Folds down neatly as well. Some children or older people might find the weight noticeable. The button brings the canopy in, but compressing the telescoping shaft afterwards is a manual job and takes a firm push. Nothing wrong with it, just something to know. Still to be tried in the rain. It reached me in Madrid within a week and I haven't needed to contact the seller. Very satisfied with it so far.

I also appreciate the enclosed oval handle
A gray umbrella can still be a pleasant thing to take out on a gloomy day. This one looks neat rather than gloomy itself, and feels well made enough to be something I'll reach for regularly. Looking back to when our children were little, I remember searching for an umbrella with useful coverage that wasn't another awkward thing to carry. I certainly would have appreciated this combination of cover and portability then!
It isn't the very lightest folding umbrella, at around 390g, but the weight seems reasonable for the construction. It does fold down, which makes carrying it considerably easier than a long umbrella. Don't expect it to disappear into a tiny purse, though. The folded length is about 40cm, so checking the bag you intend to put it in would be sensible. Compact doesn't always mean pocket-sized.
The black underside is something I appreciate when using it for shade. It is pleasant to have overhead when there isn't a shady spot nearby, and the canopy has also done its job well in the rain. I've had it out in some breezy weather without it turning inside out. The flexible ribs seem to cope with movement well, rather than making the whole thing feel rigid and vulnerable.
Looking underneath, there is quite a lot of support for the fabric, with 30 ribs around the canopy. The material sits neatly on the frame and the overall construction gives a reassuring impression. I also appreciate the enclosed oval handle; it feels secure in my hand. The sleeve keeps everything tidier when it is put away. Pressing the button opens it smoothly, without any fiddling about. Closing takes two steps: the button draws the canopy shut, and the shaft is pressed back down by hand. Once I understood that, it was straightforward. I'm quite impressed with how nicely the whole thing operates.
For friends or family wanting an everyday umbrella, I'd happily recommend it. My only practical caution would be to check that folded length rather than assuming it will fit absolutely anywhere. Open, it gives comfortable coverage for me, but still needs the usual consideration around people on narrow paths.

ALL FEELS WELL MADE AND STURDY.
I WANTED A DECENT UMBRELLA FOR MY WIFE TO WALK TO WORK WITH AND THIS IS A GOOD SIZE.NOT A GREAT HUGE THING TO CARRY BUT THERE IS A SURPRISING AMOUNT OF COVER WHEN OPEN. WE CAN BOTH GET UNDER IT IF WE STAY CLOSE, ALTHOUGH IT IS REALLY HANDIER FOR ONE PERSON. SHE LIKES THAT IT FOLDS AWAY INSTEAD OF HAVING A LONG UMBRELLA TO CARRY AROUND.ALL FEELS WELL MADE AND STURDY.

My 5 year old is very attached to this one.
We've had this since December and it's nearly June, still opening just as it should. Most umbrellas we've bought for the children have felt pretty poor quality. My 5 year old is very attached to this one. She uses it for playing as well as rain and it has stood up to that nicely.
Barbara Schwartz
Very neat, very proper.
A cream white umbrella makes me look far more dressed up than I normally manage in wet weather. Very neat, very proper. It's NOTHING like my usual style, which is half the amusement of carrying it. Under the smart appearance it's a useful umbrella too, and feels sturdy.
Hannah Walker
the umbrella itself is fine...
It was MY choice, so I can't really moan b/c my son is an engineer and, as my husband said...I SHOULD have thought about his taste...ha ha...the green is a little brighter than he'd pick. But. the umbrella itself is fine...opens nicely, feels well made, etc. Thanks for asking.

The button for opening and folding the canopy is really handy.
People on campus keep saying how nice this looks, and the blue is gorgeous. Coverage is about right for me and my backpack without being ridiculously huge. The fourth time out it did flip inside out in a strong gust, though I got it back into shape. That made me a bit cautious in wind. The button for opening and folding the canopy is really handy. Overall I'd recommend it, just not expect miracles in bad weather.
Pam Cordova
Thank you for a really lovely umbrella.
I wasn't certain how the green would look from the picture, so opening the parcel was a nice surprise. Such a gorgeous colour!!!! It opens to a useful size and folds down to go in my purse. I'm looking forward to its first outing. I've been collecting umbrellas for about three years now and always enjoy adding another one that catches my eye. Even a plain colour can cheer up a grey rainy day and put me in a better mood. Thank you for a really lovely umbrella.

Wanted something that actually felt worth reaching for in the rain.
I'm tired of the untidy pile of old umbrellas on our porch. Wanted something that actually felt worth reaching for in the rain. This looks lovely and gives good cover, feels well put together too.So far I am happy, the price was fair and I hope it turns out to be a keeper.

I bought another after losing my first one, and I still love it.
I bought another after losing my first one, and I still love it. There's something quite romantic about carrying it, so I'm waiting for another chance to take it out (a whole week of rain...and then nothing). Being a student I'm usually juggling books, which makes the little opening button especially useful. No wrestling to get it up with my hands full. It's also coped with the breezes I've had without turning over, so I'm pleased all over again.

Gave this to my girlfriend and she's been delighted with it.
Gave this to my girlfriend and she's been delighted with it. It tucks into her backpack, but opens with the button into a proper usable umbrella. She likes that it doesn't feel enormous when she's holding it. Another press folds the canopy, then she pushes the shaft down to pack it. Definitely one she'll be keeping track of.
Nicolas Martinez
Arrived neatly packed as well.
Gave this to my daughter as a present and she's delighted. It covers her nicely when she's waiting for the school bus with the children. The flexible ribs seem a good idea, and the whole umbrella feels reassuringly sturdy without being huge. Arrived neatly packed as well. She's been getting plenty of use out of it.
Jonathon Jennings
I recommend it three hundred percent.
Second one I've bought and still no disappointment; I recommend it three hundred percent. Best value I've had from an umbrella so far. Spending money on this actually felt worthwhile. It feels strong, gives me good coverage and has coped with the rainy, gusty days I've used it on. you feel properly sheltered underneath. I keep recommending it, and then got told off a bit for only suggesting one when two would be useful. Fair enough, another one can be the next purchase 😂 💯 💯 💯 💯
Paige Barnett
Apparently I can still manage to lose one.
We don't get much rain here, which ought to make hanging onto an umbrella easy. Apparently I can still manage to lose one. I wanted something I would recognise straight away, and this blue one is a welcome change from all the dark umbrellas around. A couple of people have admired it already. It's been out three times and done what I needed, though folded it takes up more room in my car than I expected. That's where I keep it now, ready for the next shower. Hopefully this is one I can actually hold onto.

The oval loop gives it a slightly different look without being fussy.
This was a going away present for a friend who gets a lot of rainy weather where they live. I thought the umbrella looked very smart when it arrived, with a neat finish. The oval loop gives it a slightly different look without being fussy. For what I paid I was happy with how it felt as well as how it looked. I did have a question after buying and received helpful advice, which I appreciated. It made the whole purchase a good experience and I felt very comfortable giving it as a present.
Angel Mayer
Comfortable handle too, I'd happily choose it again.
After getting soaked with my little travel umbrella in heavy rain, I wanted something with better coverage. This is still a folding umbrella, but it opens out much more usefully for me. BIG difference. The extra weight is noticeable compared with my tiny one, but I'll carry it for the better cover. Comfortable handle too, I'd happily choose it again.

Rain walkers, REJOICE!!!
Growing up in Oregon meant getting used to rain that seemed to go on forever. Not a shower and then sunshine, either. DAYS of the stuff, through the night and right back into the next day. Maybe the weather has changed some, but I remember it well.I'd been wanting a decent umbrella for ages, and finally got this one. Whoever thought of making something easy to carry that opens with a button deserves a cheer!! The beige fabric feels substantial, and the handle gives me something comfortable to hang onto. Nothing complicated, just does what it needs to do.It was ready for the recent soaking we had around Denver, and I was very glad of it. Walked out into the rain and stayed nicely covered. That's the test that matters to me, not how fancy it looks sitting indoors. From someone practically born with flippers... this one gets my vote. Rain walkers, REJOICE!!!

An umbrella I actually enjoy using.
An umbrella I actually enjoy using. The canopy spreads out nicely so I'm not hunching underneath it, the loop handle is comfortable to hold, and cream white looks so fresh. Nothing fussy, just a good looking umbrella! It has stayed steady in the breezy rain I've used it in too. Pretty AND practical is a combination I can get behind.
John Hensley
A nice solid umbrella.
A nice solid umbrella. Opens on the button and the canopy closes on it too, both work very well. It feels sturdy in a breeze rather than trying to turn itself inside out. There is enoughroom for two if you stand close, but it isn't enormous for me to handle. My son (a grown man) took it along to the stadium for a game and was quite happy with the size as well.
Shawna Kelly
The button opening and canopy collapse are handy.
Seems tough yes. Took me a moment to get used to the telescoping sections (that's normal I suppose?). It's done well through several rainy weeks. The button opening and canopy collapse are handy. Once collapsed, the stem must be compressed manually before another opening. Much less awkward to store than a full length umbrella.
Jodi Floyd
It is easy to take along without being a big nuisance.
After two weeks of golf, eight rounds in all, I'm pleased I went for this umbrella. I walk the course and having shade to carry with me makes those hot sunny days a lot more comfortable. It is easy to take along without being a big nuisance. Would recommend it to other walkers who find being out in the heat hard going
Debbie Burch
Happy with how they've worked out.
Needed a replacement after my old umbrella gave up. This one folds to a useful size for a school bag and feels quite substantial without being too heavy. There was a slight new smell at first, but a day left open to air sorted it out. I've bought one for each of the children's bags now. Happy with how they've worked out.
Christy Dean
It works smoothly and doesn't feel flimsy.
The gray wasn't quite the shade I had in mind, but I kept it. It works smoothly and doesn't feel flimsy. Not the tiniest folded umbrella, though it goes neatly into my bag. I've used it on blustery rainy days without trouble. The loop handle is a useful detail too, easier to keep hold of than I expected.
Victor Morrow
A very happy little girl here.
We brought this home today and my daughter has barely put it down. She's three and a half and has been asking for her own umbrella for what feels like a year, so this has been a big event! I can't say much about long term use yet, but it seems nicely put together. The pink was an immediate hit. She especially likes that there is a button, and was very proud when she managed to open it. I stay with her while she does that and help with pushing the shaft back down after the canopy closes. It's still a proper umbrella rather than a tiny toy, which is exactly what she wanted. There's enough room over her without her having to tuck herself up underneath it. I also find the loop handle easy to hold when it becomes my turn to carry everything. We haven't had it long, so this is mostly a first impression, but seeing how pleased she is makes me pleased with the purchase. A very happy little girl here.

Can't say enough good things about this umbrella!
Can't say enough good things about this umbrella! It gives me a patch of shade and looks lovely while doing it. The finish seems very nice, and i like that it folds away instead of being something long to carry. Arizona sunshine can be relentless, so I don't know why I waited this long to get something for shade. I can see myself using it through the summer! I was a little concerned about the compact size, but i needn't have been. Small when folded doesn't mean tiny when it's open. I'm six feet tall and there is plenty of coverage for my face and shoulders. It isn't a huge parasol -- just a handy umbrella -- and that suits me fine. For keeping some shade over me it does exactly what I wanted. I'm delighted with it and would happily recommend it.
Edgar Skinner
It was nice to find that without having a long umbrella to carry.
I've always liked an umbrella with enough room to feel properly sheltered, rather than one that only covers the top of your head. It was nice to find that without having a long umbrella to carry. Haven't been able to try it in rain yet, but opened up it seems sturdy. I picked gray and the plain finish looks very nice, nothing fussy about it.
Edwin Graham
She has been delighted with it and says it gets lots of compliments.
This was a present for my daughter, who's in her first year at a women's college in Virginia. She has been delighted with it and says it gets lots of compliments. Rain doesn't seem quite such a nuisance when she gets to take her umbrella out. There's room for a friend to tuck in beside her, which she appreciates between classes. I can't offer an opinion on serious wind, since she hasn't used it in that yet. For the price, I think it made a lovely gift and it's clearly something she enjoys having.

Good buy.
Since moving to Tampa I've found an umbrella useful for sun as much as rain..This one is soo handy to have along, the handle sits nicely in my hand and it doesn't feel heavy..the canopy gives me good cover in showers & shade when the sun is too much for my skin..Glad this has the button as well, makes getting it up in the rain much easier. Good buy.

It looks well put together, and the frame feels reassuringly solid.
I was surprised by how much umbrella unfolds from a fairly small package. My daughter is thrilled and has spent the last several minutes turning around with it held above her. It looks well put together, and the frame feels reassuringly solid. We will see how it fares with use, but my first impression of it is a very good one.

This one has been wonderful!
Rain is a regular thing where I live so I wanted something that looked nice but could actually take some use. This one has been wonderful! Bigger opened up than I expected and it kept me and my backpack covered walking around the city :) A bus driver even gave me a big thumbs up at the crossing, which made me laugh. The cream white is so pretty. I've used it a fair amount now and nothing feels flimsy, even pressing the button to open it feels controlled rather than like the whole thing might shoot apart.

A very useful umbrella - larger when open than I expected, which is mostly a good thing. It feels solid, and I've been comfortable using it on the wet, windy walks to work. I still keep it facing into a gust rather than expecting miracles from it. The only drawback for me is the amount of space it takes up when open on a busy pavement. I live in NYC - fairly new here - and my coworkers thought spending more on an umbrella was a waste because I'd be replacing it soon anyway. About three months of carrying this through the spring rain and that prediction hasn't come true. They've even stood under the edge with me while waiting for lunch from the food trucks - so I don't hear quite as many jokes about it now.
