I've wanted an umbrella like this for ages and finally treated myself.
I've wanted an umbrella like this for ages and finally treated myself. The open size is generous without being awkward. I do wish the green looked a little livelier; with the black underneath it feels rather subdued. Still, I'm pleased with it and it has been useful.
Adrian Mullen
Honestly, I'm impressed.
Honestly, I'm impressed. The umbrella is sturdy and looks just as it should. The delivery was the part that really surprised me though. I'm in Brazil and my international order arrived in five days. Wasn't expecting it so quickly, and I'm delighted with the whole thing.
Sheena Taylor
I've had it out on some blustery days and it's been excellent!
Over the years I've replaced umbrellas because I put them down somewhere and walk away - not because they wear out. Of the folding ones I've carried, this is easily my favourite for build and for coping with wind. I've had it out on some blustery days and it's been excellent!

I'm a small woman and the coverage suits me
For walking around Chicago I wanted an umbrella that would keep me dry without getting blown about all the time. This one feels much steadier in the windy patches I've walked through so far. I'm a small woman and the coverage suits me; someone with broader shoulders might want more room. It's not quite as effortless to carry on public transport as I'd hoped, although it does fold down. Still, the cream white looks classic and it has kept me dry, which is what I needed most. I'm glad I chose it.

This has turned out to be a really good umbrella.
This has turned out to be a really good umbrella. The coverage is much better than my usual small one, and I like the neat appearance. I had read comments about closing being a bit stiff, and I can see what they mean, but it isn't a problem for me. Pressing the button gathers the canopy; compressing the telescoping shaft afterwards takes a firm push by hand. Once I knew that, it was straightforward. Getting it neatly into the sleeve is easier if I smooth the fabric first. Overall, a great find! It has handled wet, breezy weather well and gives the impression it should last!
Gary Walter
A friend uses this umbrella and she is delighted with it.
Not sure why the button seems confusing to some people. A friend uses this umbrella and she is delighted with it. Once you locate the button, opening it is straightforward. Getting the fabric tidy again takes a moment, but that seems normal for a folding umbrella. I generally like a very plain design myself. It suits her, though, and other people have commented on how nice it looks when she carries it.
Diana Brock
Quite a solid umbrella.
Quite a solid umbrella. At roughly 105cm open it's a comfortable size for me. The fabric seems a little thin, but rain hasn't come through. Someone out in rain daily might want a more substantial feel. I only use mine occasionally, and avoid really windy days, so it suits that purpose fine. i do like the plain gray with the oval loop handle. It feels comfortable to hold and sits nicely in my hand.
Tim Vargas
My one small reservation is the grip.
My old folding umbrella always seemed a little cramped, so extra coverage was the main thing I looked for this time. It also had to go in my backpack rather than become another thing to carry. I compared a few options before choosing this one, and several spring showers later I'm glad I did.
At around 40cm folded, it takes up less length than my previous umbrella, although the bundle isn't especially slim. Think more drinks bottle than pencil case. The beige canopy looks neatly finished and the material feels substantial. A few shakes get most of the water off, though I leave it open to dry properly before putting it away.
The ribs have a reassuring amount of flex without feeling flimsy. In the breezy rain I've used it in, it hasn't been difficult to control. Pressing the button spreads the canopy quickly, and another press collapses it; you then compress the telescopic shaft manually. So far I've never set it off unintentionally while carrying it.
My one small reservation is the grip. The oval loop is useful, but I'd prefer a longer area to wrap my fingers around. With larger hands it can feel a little confined, and I sometimes adjust my grip. It hasn't spoiled an otherwise very good umbrella, just something I notice when I'm holding it for a while.
Meagan Gibbs
I still keep a tiny travel umbrella for that.
A bit bigger folded than I'd pictured, which is on me for not checking. I love using it. there's some weight to it, but it feels solid rather than cumbersome. It coped well with a blustery day and kept my shoulders covered. Not one I'd squeeze into a little purse, unless your idea of a purse is a large bag. I still keep a tiny travel umbrella for that. For the daily walk to work and back this is much better.
Gloria Dougherty
I wont tell the guys in my fraternity where i found it, they'd all…
I wont tell the guys in my fraternity where i found it, they'd all want the same umbrella! The look is great and it feels properly made, not just something you buy for the novelty of it. If you want an umbrella that's nice to look at and also does its job, i'd say this one is worth it.
James Willis
There is a reassuring bit of weight to it.
After seeing a lady out in the rain with a smart umbrella, I decided it was time to get one myself. This one looks good and seems solid, which matters with the weather we get in New England. I'm almost hoping for rain so I can take it out. It folds away, but don't expect something featherlight that you'll hardly notice carrying. There is a reassuring bit of weight to it. So far I'm glad I ordered it.
Megan Bender
A well thought out umbrella that I'm happy to keep using.
Feels strong, reasonably light, good fabric and a useful mechanism. The button at the handle springs the canopy open, which is convenient when the rain suddenly starts. I've used it --very regularly-- over this past week of persistent rain and it has felt dependable. On coming indoors I press that same button and the canopy draws together. The pole doesn't shorten automatically along with it. I hold the handle and push the telescoping sections together until they are fully reset, then it's ready for the next opening. There is some resistance as I push, but I find the action straightforward and don't have to gather the wet canopy by hand. With the shaft reset, pressing the button gets it open again as expected. A well thought out umbrella that I'm happy to keep using.

Had mine ages and I still love it!
Had mine ages and I still love it! Feels really solid and hasn't flipped on me when it's been windy. I did manage to catch it in my bicycle wheel though! :( Completely my fault, not the umbrella's :( I'd happily choose the same one again! It looks smart with whatever I'm wearing too, which isn't the main thing but I do care about that! A proper favourite :)
Judith Maddox
The button opening and closing is handy.
Wet shoulders with those tiny umbrellas were getting old. This one actually gives me room underneath! The button opening and closing is handy. (the canopy snapping shut still makes me jump)I went for blue and it's a little more muted than the picture suggested. Still a nice colour...I'm hoping having one I enjoy looking at means I'll remember to take it with me instead of leaving it behind somewhere!
Teresa Owens
I chose the blue one as a present.
I chose the blue one as a present. From the pictures I had expected a slightly brighter shade, so when I saw it in person it wasn't quite what I'd imagined. That's my reason for four stars, since a better view of the colour would have helped me choose. To be fair though, the quality made a very good impression. The frame feels much more substantial than some folding umbrellas I've looked at in shops. The oval handle is different too, and comfortable when you actually hold it, not just nice to look at. There is a good amount of cover once it's open, and it folds into a manageable size to carry afterwards. I thought it looked smart even though the blue wasn't exactly what I had in mind. I'd still recommend it because overall it feels like a well made, useful umbrella rather than just something that looks nice in a photo. The person it was for was delighted.

Opened up, this looks a useful size for that.
The wet weather lately made me finally get an umbrella to keep at school. I work with children and wanted enough cover for myself with a little one close beside me. Opened up, this looks a useful size for that. It also seems good value, so keeping one in my classroom, another in the car and one at home is practical. The button is easy to work and doesn't seem like something the children would struggle with. I like that it folds away rather than needing a long space to store it. Everything looks nicely finished when I open it up.Overall, I'm happy with what I've bought and looking forward to trying it in the rain!
Betty George
Overall a good umbrella.
Overall a good umbrella. The downside for me it's heavier than others I've had. I guess that may be part of making it stand up to wind. My hand also slips on the handle now and then. The sleeve feels pretty cheap too.Apart from those things I'd still call it a decent umbrella, based on the few times I've taken it out
Kaylee Pacheco
Still, a good umbrella that she's actually happy to take along!
Her old character umbrella had been around for ages and my daughter was starting to feel a bit too grown up for it. This one has gone down much better. She can work the button herself, and I appreciate not having to wrestle with a sliding catch while we're heading out. The only nuisance is getting the folds wrapped up neatly afterward. I end up helping with that part more often than not. Still, a good umbrella that she's actually happy to take along!

It was what I needed to replace my old umbrella.
It was what I needed to replace my old umbrella. Arrived earlier than expected and was well protected with layers of cardboard and paper padding. My previous one seemed to let rain reach me from the sides quite easily, whereas this canopy has kept my head and upper body much better covered. It is a useful size without being awkward to hold. Overall I'm happy with the replacement and would recommend it.
Edward Manning
So the third has been ordered today.
I've just ordered number THREE, which says a fair bit about how I feel about this umbrella. I'd get it again too. It feels sturdy, the black suits me, and that button for shutting the canopy is the part I wouldn't want to be without. Getting into the car in pouring rain is the LAST time I want to be wrestling with an umbrella through the door. One press and the canopy folds, so I can shut the door and stay out of the wet.
The first one went off with a friend at the station. Rain started just as she needed to catch her train so I handed it over, fully expecting to see it again. Apparently not! Bought another.
Then last month I managed to leave that second one at a meeting. I could remember which day, and called the places where I'd had meetings, but nobody could turn it up. I suspect somebody found themselves a rather nice umbrella and decided to keep it. So the third has been ordered today.
Glen Castaneda
I'm pleased with the automatic button so far
Comfortably covers me, and two people could squeeze under if they don't mind being close. I'm pleased with the automatic button so far; it feels quite solid, and hopefully will keep working that way over time. The folded size is convenient for putting away. The sleeve is handy too, although I'll still be leaving the canopy out to dry before packing it back in.
Nathan Wood
Looks great in person!!
Looks great in person!! the packing could be a little better but everything inside was fine so thats not a big issue.the umbrella looks just like I expected.no rain here yet so I cant say much about using it outside. will come back after its had a proper outing. happy with it so far.
Tammie Taylor
Gave me the shade I wanted without all the bulk.
Needed shade on a cross-country trip and had already tried taking a much bigger umbrella...far too much to lug around. Why did I think that was sensible???This one was much easier. Could walk or jog along with it, then fold it away without reorganising everything. Gave me the shade I wanted without all the bulk.
Connie Meyers
Great buy!
I seemed to be shopping for another umbrella every couple of months - so it's nice to have one I actually want to keep. This one feels solid when it's up, and I've been dry underneath it in proper rain, not just a few drops. The ribs flex rather than feeling like brittle little sticks (yes, I do notice these things :) and I like having something decent to hold onto.If I'm being picky, the blue can show a mark once it's been carried around enough. Nothing terrible, it just needs a wipe now and then.I don't mind that at all if it means I'm finally keeping an umbrella long enough for it to get grubby.Great buy!
Albert Levy
the pink is nice and the frame feels substantial.
Has been very good for shade, i feel much more comfortable underneath it in the sunshine. the pink is nice and the frame feels substantial. opening is quick, just give the button a definite press. it does spring out quite firmly so keep your fingers round the handle. to pack it away, press again to fold the canopy, then push the telescoping sections together by hand until they catch. i find a palm at either end easier than trying to squeeze it together from the middle. the button felt stiff at first but is fine once you know how firmly to press. held it towards the light and it still gives a good patch of shade.

You get a compact umbrella, not a huge heavy-duty one.
You get a compact umbrella, not a huge heavy-duty one. For running between the car and wherever I'm going, it works well. I wouldn't treat it like a big storm umbrella, but after months of use mine is still doing fine. It fits in the gap beside the driver's seat so it's always there when a shower starts. That's really all I wanted from it, easy cover for those short trips in the rain.
Sabrina Mathews
The pink is a particularly pleasing color.
Poetry makes rain sound so agreeable, always gentle and falling obligingly where it ought. Having spent a summer in England, I understand the attraction: a quiet, steady drizzle and no wind can be managed with an umbrella, even without getting one's shoes wet. Back in North America, rain tends to arrive with rather more argument from the weather. This has served me well in ordinary wet, breezy conditions, and the open size seems quite sufficient for everyday use. I would not want something so large that carrying it through a doorway became an undertaking. The button is a great convenience, though I would add a caution about putting it away. It collapses the canopy, not the entire shaft. You must then press the telescoping section down until it catches, which requires a firmer push than some people might expect. Anyone with limited hand or arm strength should bear that in mind. P.S. The pink is a particularly pleasing color.
Tristan Dyer
Not exactly advanced science though.
Solidly made, not the flimsy umbrella the price might have you thinking. There is a decent amount of cover for something foldable and a little more weight than everyone might want to carry, but I'm broad and appreciate that extra room. The opening and closing routine needed a bit of practice for me. The button folds the canopy in, then the shaft needs pushing right down by hand until it clicks home. Getting that part fully done makes the next opening straightforward. It is quite particular about that step but works smoothly once I do it properly. That learning part is what kept me from giving a fourth star. Other people may catch on much quicker, I took a while to get the knack. Not exactly advanced science though. Overall a well built umbrella, almost investment quality for the money, and one I expect to get years of use out of.
Sheryl Grant
Not making it complicated, shade is shade and I WANT it with me.
This is just what I wanted, even if the price made me stop and think, But honestly!Anyone spending time out in the sun should think about carrying their own shade! The gray looks good and I notice how much nicer it feels underneath instead of standing in the direct glare. Not making it complicated, shade is shade and I WANT it with me. I've spent enough time looking at umbrellas to know what suits me, so yes, I'd recommend this one!

Happy enough with this purchase.
Happy enough with this purchase. I'm using it as a prop, so having something that looks right matters more to me than buying the fanciest umbrella. The cream white is nice and plain and I like the oval handle. It is a little more substantial when folded than I really needed for that purpose. I may dress it up a little to get the look I want, but there is nothing wrong with it as it comes. Overall, good value for what I paid.
Wanda Santana
Finish seems good, no odd smell.
Looks very smart and the open size is quite normal. One button opens it and collapses the canopy, with a fairly loud snap. You then press the telescoping shaft down yourself to finish packing it. Slightly heavier than my usual folding umbrella. Finish seems good, no odd smell. So far I am very satisfied.
Terri Torres
Compact, sturdy and useful without being a burden to carry.
The replacement for an umbrella I borrowed, then immediately misplaced. Its owner, a New York business woman capable of making taxi drivers refuse her fare with a few words, says this is the nicest one she has had.Compact, sturdy and useful without being a burden to carry.I think my reputation has recovered.
Jeanne Keller
It has coped well with everyday rain and wind.
After more than a year of use I had no complaints, then managed to leave mine somewhere. So this is my replacement, not an upgrade from something worn out. For city walking, whether you're dressed for work or just want a decent umbrella, I'd say it's worth paying a bit more for one that feels properly made. It has coped well with everyday rain and wind. (I've spent enough on cheap umbrellas that barely survived being taken out)
Jason Adkins
This opens into a good sized umbrella and keeps me dry, which is…
This opens into a good sized umbrella and keeps me dry, which is the point really. The canopy works with the button but you still push the shaft down yourself, (I don't mind that bit). What I appreciate most is having that button to gather it in without reaching up and wrestling with the wet fabric.
Alan Davila
Kinda wish it felt a little more solid.
Four stars at this point. It gives more coverage than I expected from a compact umbrella, and the button works fine. The frame doesn't feel quite as substantial in my hand as I'd hoped. Kinda wish it felt a little more solid. Still, it's useful in the rain and I might use it just as much for shade!
Karen Martin

Thoughtfully designed and neatly finished, with an attractive beige canopy and a solid overall feel. The price is higher than I'd normally consider, but I feel the quality warrants it. It gives the children good coverage in the rain, and folds into a practical size for carrying when no longer needed.
Stefanie Crawford
The plan was to take this umbrella to Europe.
The plan was to take this umbrella to Europe. It seems a good umbrella but was heavier than I wanted for carrying on that trip. It stayed home in the end and I took a little folding one I picked up instead. That was very light and went into my purse easily for whenever rain came along.I expect to use this one plenty when having an umbrella with me is useful and carrying it is less of a concern. It was really the thought of adding that much weight every day that made me leave it behind, rather than anything being wrong with the umbrella.
Kelsey Porter
Walking the dog in rain is much nicer with this!
Walking the dog in rain is much nicer with this! With a leash in one hand I can't spend the whole time adjusting an umbrella. I'm a bigger person and usually find one shoulder escaping from under the edge, which rather defeats the point. This one gives me a comfortable patch of cover without being awkward to hold. The handle sits well in my hand and it feels properly put together. My shoulders have stayed dry on our rainy walks instead of taking turns getting wet. That's a real improvement for me.
Steven Ingram
Me and my umbrella went through a lot together.
Me and my umbrella went through a lot together. She could brighten a day without saying a word. Losing her felt like losing a friend, and no replacement will ever quite bring those feelings back. Friends, please be kind to your umbrella. That canopy over your head isn't just a bit of fabric. It is watching out for you. It stands between you and the rain. It loves you.
Gail Huerta
I'd been meaning to get a cream white umbrella for ages.
I'd been meaning to get a cream white umbrella for ages. This one looks even nicer than I had hoped. The shape is lovely and the fabric and frame seem well put together. Feels strong enough for me.The button opens it and closes the canopy, which is handy. I only wish I didn't have to press the shaft in myself afterwards.
Chloe Bean
Nothing very mysterious here, its a beige umbrella and it does…
Nothing very mysterious here, its a beige umbrella and it does keep me dry. Plenty of cover once open, then folds down so it can go in the car.Doesn't have that grand umbrella-stand look from an old 50's movie, but for carrying about its exactly what I wanted.

Full sized when it's up and just so cute.
Full sized when it's up and just so cute. The green is gorgeous, much NICER in person than I expected from the picture. Good coverage, then it folds away neatly without looking like a huge bundle. Absolutely adore the little oval handle, such a nice finishing touch. It fits in my larger purse and looks lovely carried too. A practical umbrella that still feels like a fun choice.
It feels like it should last a good while if i look after it.
A good umbrella, i nearly passed on it because I was worried the opening would be a struggle. Decided to try anyway and I honestly haven't found it difficult. I'm a skinny guy, not somebody with a lot of strength, and pressing the button has been straightforward. My first real use was on a cold wet day walking around campus with my laptop case in my other hand. The canopy covered me well and my laptop bag didn't end up soaked either. There were gusts along the way and it never flipped over. I wanted something dependable that I wouldn't have to replace straight away, not anything fancy. It feels like it should last a good while if i look after it. Glad I gave it a chance!
Joanne Woods
Packs down neatly enough for a large handbag or backpack.
Looks smart, which mattered to me, and the button makes it straightforward to use. Packs down neatly enough for a large handbag or backpack. One star off because the handle end feels heavier than I'd like (worth considering if weight bothers your hands or wrists).
Sabrina Acosta
The button to open it and bring the canopy shut is great.
My second umbrella of this kind after using the previous one for several years. I wanted the same sort again rather than start looking for something completely different. It gives a good amount of cover once open and I've stayed dry underneath. The button to open it and bring the canopy shut is great. One thing to know is the shaft still needs pushing down by hand afterwards, the button isn't meant to do that part and it takes some pressure. Getting into the car when it's raining makes that last bit slightly awkward. Not a big problem and I still recommend it, just wish the final push was easier.
Herbert Kaiser
The quality seems decent, just not what i pictured for the money.
The quality seems decent, just not what i pictured for the money. i was expecting fabric with a more premium feel, rather than the usual woven material, and the pleated look i had in mind isn't there. overall it's reasonably made, but doesn't quite justify the price to me.
Rachel Garcia
The oval handle is plain but she gets on fine with it.
Got this when my daughter began Kindergarten and she's been delighted with it. The beige is nice and she can manage the opening button. Plenty of shelter for her on the school walk. The oval handle is plain but she gets on fine with it. She does need me to press the shaft back down after the canopy folds, so it isn't entirely a do-it-herself umbrella yet. We've used it through most of the school year and overall it's been a good buy.
Gene Wall
Very happy with how it's held up and I'd happily recommend it.
Over a year of use now and it's been a dependable umbrella. I'm a fairly big bloke and coverage matters, this one keeps my shoulders dry rather than leaving me with drips down my sides. It's also stayed steady on the gusty days I've taken it out. Very happy with how it's held up and I'd happily recommend it.
Kiara Morgan
I absolutely love it!
Sun exposure is a real problem for me (not just a dislike of hot weather!), so I spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to stay covered. Even a quick walk to the mailbox or taking the rubbish out used to mean covering my head and everything else. Having this umbrella for shade makes those little jobs so much less of an ordeal! I still take my usual precautions, but I don't have to feel quite so bundled up every time I step outside. Going somewhere nice is easier too, because I'm not arriving with my hair all flattened and needing to put myself back together in the bathroom. I open and close it several times most days and it has stood up to all that use beautifully. It sounds like a small thing, but being able to carry my own patch of shade has made such a difference to my day. I absolutely love it!
