Needed a sturdy umbrella that would fit in my Golf Bag.

Needed a sturdy umbrella that would fit in my Golf Bag. Kept looking at the enormous ones and their prices .... then found this one ... a much more sensible choice for me !!! Folds down nicely, has enough coverage for my needs and didn't cost a fortune. Big thumbs up -- I'd certainly recommend it !

Chase Warner

This one has been good for that.

That's a sign of how much use it gets! The pink looks nice, rain stays off me and it folds down enough to tuck into my backpack. I've been walking to work for 9 years, so an umbrella that keeps my clothes dry matters more than anything fancy. This one has been good for that. The button opens it and folds the canopy back down, which I appreciate. You still have to shorten the pole yourself afterwards -- I'd love it all to happen automatically, but that's a small thing IMO.

This feels a whole lot more substantial!!

A decent umbrella matters here in the Northwest, with so much wet, blustery weather. I see so many abandoned ones with their frames all twisted. This feels a whole lot more substantial!! Used mine through two bouts of bad weather already and it kept its shape. There is enough room to shelter me and the bag at my side, which was what I wanted. It isn't the smallest bundle to carry about, but I'll accept that for the coverage and the solid feel. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned!

The fabric feels good and the frame seems solid.

My 12yo daughter is really into Anime and quite particular about what she carries, so I was glad she loved this plain gray umbrella. Opened up it's a nice size and she doesn't mind carrying it around. BUT the folded length is more than I pictured, so it's not for every little bag. One of her friends wanted to try it and started spinning about with it, which prompted a reminder that it isn't a toy. The fabric feels good and the frame seems solid. So overall, I think it was worth what I paid. She is happy with it, we just take a little care and make sure she's got room in her bag.

Jo Wiggins

it's an umbrella, not something I want sailing away.

I'm so happy with this that I'm considering a few as gifts for friends. It covers me well and two can squeeze under it when needed. The button is brilliant for getting on public transport--shut the canopy, then push the shaft down by hand. On a windy day I still keep a firm grip; it's an umbrella, not something I want sailing away.

Great looking umbrella it feels almost too nice for an ordinary rainy dayHave only used it a few times but each time I was happy to be carrying itNo awkward fiddling with the button and the folded size works for my bagQuality seems decent too so I feel it was money well spent and should last me a while

cute enough for my vain side,....

cute enough for my vain side,....I still want to look nice when it's miserable outside and this does help, even if it's not the tiniest thing in my bag. The cream white is a little warmer looking than the picture and I actually prefer that. I dn't go miles in wet weather anyhow, just want to get where I'm going without looking all bedraggled while everybody has these boring umbrellas. U can want practical and pretty at the same time. I reckon the quality is decent for what I paid, I'm not expecting it to be something I'd take out in some wild storm. I and yes it's cute! Whether it lasts for ages I can't say but style wise, I'm quite satisfied.

The umbrella folds to a handy size and isn't much trouble to carry.

The umbrella folds to a handy size and isn't much trouble to carry. I can take it along on a fine day without filling up my bag. Opening it with the button is simple, then after closing I push the stem down myself. Still waiting for rain to give it a proper try.

Shawna Lee

It isn't difficult for me, but worth knowing before buying.

There is a great deal of poetry about gentle rain, generally written, I suspect, by people who did not have to walk into it sideways. During a summer in England I discovered what a civilized thing rain can be: steady, quiet, and quite manageable beneath an umbrella. Back in North America it is often a less polite affair. This compact umbrella has been a satisfactory companion in the rain I've actually had, with enough cover for everyday purposes. Anything vastly larger would be more trouble to carry than I care for (unless standing at a doorway were my occupation). One caution concerns putting it away. The button folds the canopy, but compressing the telescoping stem afterward takes a deliberate push. That may matter to someone with limited hand or arm strength. It isn't difficult for me, but worth knowing before buying. P.S. The green is particularly handsome.

Honestly I wasn't expecting to be this excited about an umbrella.

Honestly I wasn't expecting to be this excited about an umbrella. I kept looking at the pictures and wondering if it would be as nice in person, then finally went ahead and ordered it. Waiting to see it seemed to take forever but once it arrived I was so pleased I'd bothered. It looks really lovely opened up, just a clean simple design that somehow looks better than I had in my head. I like looking at it folded too which sounds ridiculous for an umbrella but I cant help it! My main worry was that I was buying something for the look and forgetting it actually needed to handle rain. Well we've had plenty of that and I've been dry underneath it, feeling quite pleased with myself instead of miserable about getting caught out. The little sleeve was another thing that made me happy, nothing fancy, just nice to have somewhere to tuck it away. I know I'm making a fuss over an everyday thing, but sometimes its those things that are the nicest surprise. Anyone who enjoys having a pretty umbrella will understand what I mean, I absolutely love mine! :)

Credit to the customer service people!

Credit to the customer service people! The reply I received actually dealt with what I'd written, rather than reading like a standard answer sent to everybody. I appreciated the personal attention and came away feeling that somebody had taken the time to listen. The umbrella itself is handy for everyday rain, and opening it is pleasantly straightforward. Only reservations:1. I'd have liked it to pack down a little smaller.2. I hope that same considerate attitude carries through to the people employed by the company. I don't know their situation, but treating customers well should never be the only measure of a good business. Keep the helpful approach, keep paying attention to the product, and give the staff that same respect. That's the sort of company I would feel good about continuing to buy from!

It's been a good umbrella for me.

There are two of these in my house now, the first convinced me to get another. I like that it folds down without feeling flimsy. The ribs have some give in them rather than feeling rigid. A gust caught underneath mine once and turned part of it back, but it was easy to put right. Everything looked straight afterwards and it worked just as before. It's been a good umbrella for me.

Christopher Pollard

Still kept the rain off me which is really the important thing.

I've had people comment on the green already, which is nice, but being able to arrive without rain all over me is the part I love most!My previous umbrella went missing (still a little sad about that) so I was hoping to like this one as much ♥‿♥It spreads out wider than you would think from looking at it folded, not exactly a tiny little roof, but when the rain is coming down I would rather have that extra space than wet shoulders! The underneath is black and all those little ribs look rather busy when you first look up inside it (there are 30) but everything folds together neatly so it doesn't bother me, I'd rather have the support than something that only looks pretty!Closed up it isn't the smallest thing to carry, although at least it folds down instead of being a long stick to keep track of.The button is handy, press it and the canopy goes up, another press gathers it back in, then you push the telescoping part down yourself (just mentioning that because closing it is not quite one movement)I do notice the fabric has more give than my old umbrella, though it isn't hanging loose like laundry or anything!Still kept the rain off me which is really the important thing. The ribs are flexible rather than completely rigid so I am curious how it will be over time and will come back if there's anything worth adding ♥‿♥Overall I think it is worth what I paid, there's no joy in buying something pretty and then ending up soaked underneath it!Happy to have a useful umbrella again and hopefully I can keep hold of this one ♡

My old umbrella had a shaped wooden handle which I was quite fond of.

This is the second umbrella I've chosen after keeping my previous one for about ten years. I wanted decent coverage again, and this one opens out to a very useful size without being awkward to use. A press opens it and another folds the canopy, then I shorten the stem myself. My old umbrella had a shaped wooden handle which I was quite fond of. This has an oval loop instead, and although it is perfectly usable, I still have a soft spot for the old style. That doesn't take anything away from the umbrella itself. It seems well put together and worth what I paid. Just don't expect a tiny, featherweight umbrella for a small handbag. It folds down, but there's still a reasonable amount of umbrella to carry.

I wanted something dependable for my October trip to Europe and…

I wanted something dependable for my October trip to Europe and this turned out to be a sensible choice. I had plenty of rain in Berlin and Rome, so it spent more time open than packed away. It takes up a little more bag space than I had hoped, but the solid feel and reasonable price made that an easy trade off.

Riley Chaney

Worth bringing!

Added this to my carry-on luggage because it would tuck into a spare compartment. Very glad it came along! A downpour caught me in southern France and I stayed dry instead of getting soaked. Even lent it to fellow travellers who hadn't packed an umbrella. Doesn't take much room and makes such a difference when you need it. Worth bringing!

Dave Kline

I don't see why an umbrella needs to be a men's thing anyway.

We already had an umbrella we liked, but my wife kept taking it so I ordered another. Well, she tried this one and now I'm back with the old umbrella again. That probably tells you enough. I don't see why an umbrella needs to be a men's thing anyway.Solid and reassuring to hold, and it's been good in the wind we get round here. We've squeezed under it together when necessary, though it's really better for one. Looks like I'll be needing a second one of these now, unless she lets me have a turn...

Kelly Mathis

Good value umbrella.

Good value umbrella. I'd put a little question mark next to "compact" though. yeah, compact compared with a long umbrella, not tiny enough for every bag. It takes a fair bit of room in mine. On the plus side, once opened it gives much better coverage than the really little ones. Quite a substantial feel to it.

Leroy Perez

It's a good everyday umbrella, enough room for me on my own.

It's a good everyday umbrella, enough room for me on my own. A slight smell when unpacked went away after leaving it open for a while. I would normally prefer a lighter underside, but the black interior isn't a bother when I'm using it for shade. Overall I'm quite content with it.

Bailey Garza

I wouldn't expect the same coverage as something much larger.

It is what it looks like: a folding umbrella, not a great big heavy-duty one. For the dash between the car and a building it has been very handy. I wouldn't expect the same coverage as something much larger. Mine has had months of use here in Atlanta and is still doing fine. Folded up it fits beside the driver's seat without getting in my way. A sensible choice for everyday showers.

Faith Blackwell

I've become rather fond of this umbrella.

I've become rather fond of this umbrella. On the walk from the subway into downtown, the wind funnels between the buildings and makes a wet day feel much worse. Maryland weather can go from pleasant to miserable before you've gone very far. I've passed plenty of people wrestling with their umbrellas while mine has stayed the right way round, and have shared the cover for a short stretch when someone was going the same direction. Yes, I probably talk about it more than an umbrella deserves! This is my second one of this type. I thought I'd lost the first, bought another, and then the original found its way back to me. Nothing wrong with that one either, so now I have a spare instead of a replacement. The frame feels dependable and the whole thing has been money well spent. Not the sort of purchase I normally get excited about, but here we are!

Sophia Singh

I'm also happy with the handle, it's easy to get a good grip.

Arrived promptly. Opens wider than I expected, which is definitely a good thing. There is room to tuck in beside someone and maybe it sounds silly but I really wanted cream white because I like how light it looks.I'm also happy with the handle, it's easy to get a good grip.I did wish the fabric looked a bit smoother when I first opened it but it's been folded up so I suppose those little lines are normal, and opened out it looks really lovely!

Jaime Guzman

To be honest, this is the umbrella I reach for first now.

To be honest, this is the umbrella I reach for first now. Sturdy without being a weight to hold, and it has coped well with breezes. I like a generous canopy and about 105cm across is right for me. The button opening and canopy closing is my favourite part, so handy! This has become my everyday choice and I would definitely recommend it++++++

Out it comes even when there isn't a cloud!

my 5 year old had this as a birthday present and was more excited about it than anything else. Out it comes even when there isn't a cloud! People tell her how nice it looks and she is so proud :) It's put up with quite a lot of handling already. The button is much easier for her than fiddling with a catch, I just help finish packing it away.

Janet Trujillo

I keep this in my backpack for business trips, since getting caught in rain is always a possibility. It adds more weight than I'd really like for something carried mostly as a precaution, but the solid feel makes me hopeful it will cope with living at the bottom of my bag.

Cole Lamb

Everything was in place and the finish seemed good.

I think the weight, the loop handle, and using the button are all good. When I unpacked it I checked around the tip and the folding pieces, because this is where I tend to look first. Everything was in place and the finish seemed good. Getting the fabric neatly folded needs a bit of arranging, but it looks tidy when done. I wanted an ordinary umbrella to use and that is what I have. Hopefully the rain will cooperate with the timing.

Jo Pitts

Very nice looking product.

Very nice looking product. The umbrella feels well made, with the fabric sitting neatly over the ribs when it is open. The canopy has a smooth appearance, and the black underside gives a different look depending on which side is facing the audience. The button on the handle is easy to reach and opens the canopy quickly. Another press folds the canopy, although the shaft has to be pushed back in by hand. The oval loop gives a good grip and there is a protective sleeve for putting it away afterward.I haven't tried one outside in rain. We needed these for a theatre production rather than outdoors, and they looked fantastic on the stage.

Melinda Bentley

The black is smart and opening it with the button is handy.

If you want decent cover without carrying a full length umbrella, this is worth a look. The black is smart and opening it with the button is handy. Just remember it still has a fairly broad canopy once it's up. Gusts can make it pull at your hand, so keep a proper grip. I'd also be careful on a busy pavement, you can't just charge through a crowd and forget the edges are there.

Don Mcgrath

Love having this along for my daughter's soccer games!

Love having this along for my daughter's soccer games! It gives me decent cover without being awkward to hold on the sidelines. Folded up, it takes a little more space in my bag than I'd like, although that seems a fair trade for how solid it feels. I keep it out of the kids' hands when we're home, just to be safe.

Ashlee Mendoza

Looks just as nice in person as it did in the pictures.

Looks just as nice in person as it did in the pictures. Very pretty and quite smart. I chose it as a Christmas present and was pleased with how it looked for a gift. The reason for four stars rather than five is the effort needed to shorten it again after use. The button brings the canopy down, but pressing the telescoping stem closed needs a firmer push than I would like. It does work, just not quite as easy for me as the opening part. Apart from that I'm pleased with it, and it made a very nice Christmas gift.

Rachel Lambert

That's worth having a bright colour for as far as I'm concerned.

The design seems sensible to me, even though it takes up a little more room than some folding umbrellas. I've taken it out when it's been moderately breezy and it's behaved itself. Water shakes off quite well too - a few shakes before coming indoors and there isn't much left dripping.I went with pink because I wanted something noticeable rather than another dark umbrella. When I'm crossing a road in wet weather I feel a bit more visible with it up, and drivers seem to spot me. That's worth having a bright colour for as far as I'm concerned.

Felicia Ray

Can't expect everything from one umbrella, I suppose!

Good value and much more substantial than the cheap umbrellas I've had before. The button puts the canopy up quickly and shuts it again when needed; pushing the shaft back down is done by hand. I've felt comfortable using it in normal wet, breezy weather, rather than worrying about every movement of the fabric. My one gripe is the folded length. It doesn't sit neatly in my medium sized purse, so I have to use a bigger bag. Can't expect everything from one umbrella, I suppose!

Kathryn Mcdowell

We were surprised at how much cover this gave when we first opened it.

We were surprised at how much cover this gave when we first opened it. Looks quite modest folded, so everyone had to have a look! It's not a big cumbersome thing to carry either. We take it along when walking the kids to the bus and have shared with someone who's forgotten theirs, although you do need to stay close. The ribs have a bit of give to them, which I like. We accidentally knocked it against a pole once and it flexed rather than taking the full knock rigidly. Checked it afterwards and everything was still sitting where it should be. Back to using it as normal.

Marissa Bender

A fairly ordinary folding umbrella, which is all I needed.

A fairly ordinary folding umbrella, which is all I needed. Button to open it, another press to collapse the canopy, and a sleeve to put it in.Storage is straightforward. Mine has worked fine, though it feels a little lighter in build than I'd ideally like. At this price I don't mind that too much. I tend to lose umbrellas before wearing them out anyway, so I don't spend loads. For what I use one for, it does the job.

Lynn Cohen

rain in the forecast....

It's pink, it's roomy....and yes, it's an umbrella!!! Had a wedding coming up....rain in the forecast....so this came along with me. The weather did exactly what it threatened to do....but I wasn't soaked, and the dress I'd been worrying about made it through dry!

Nicolas Wheeler

Seems sturdy in wind so far.

Has some weight to it. Enough cover. Seems sturdy in wind so far. Fabric still needs drying after rain, I shake it out then leave it open. Works well for me. The main thing to get used to is the oval handle, different from my usual grip. Opening action feels powerful and the canopy comes out very fast, so give it some space

Kristine Dudley

Okay, I am genuinely impressed with this umbrella.

Okay, I am genuinely impressed with this umbrella. Once it's open there's a lot more cover than I expected, and it has stayed steady in the windy weather we get in Chicago. The loop handle is comfortable in my hand too. It's not one of those tiny things you forget is in your bag! There is some substance to it, although it still folds down. For concerts, picnics or those days when my hair absolutely cannot get wet, I think this was money well spent.

Brandy Flynn

Arrived promptly and nicely packed.

Arrived promptly and nicely packed. It was for my dad and we tried it together, worked just fine. No photo to show because he's left it at work already! Looks just like the pictures and feels very solid in the hand. He's delighted with his umbrella, so thank you 🙏

Latoya Pitts

My 9 year old granddaughter is delighted with her umbrella and…

My 9 year old granddaughter is delighted with her umbrella and thinks the gray looks very smart. She can use the button fine, but pushing the shaft back down by hand takes more effort than she would like. Hopefully that gets easier for her with practice, she is still quite keen to take it out.

Steven Leach

Excellent umbrella.

Excellent umbrella. Would happily get another. Good solid frame and a useful spread. Press to open, press again to collapse the canopy. Then compress the stem yourself. The cream white is lovely, not fussy. Just bear in mind that last push takes some effort, so someone with weak hands or arthritis might find it a bit much.

Gilbert Kennedy

She's pleased to have a replacement now.

The pink goes with my wife's car, so this made a nice present for her. Feels sturdy for something that folds up, and the button is simple to use. Her previous umbrella was left with the gate staff at a ball park because they wouldn't let umbrella's inside. She never got that one back, unfortunately. She's pleased to have a replacement now. We haven't needed to take this out in the rain yet, but it seems a very nice item.

Vanessa Davidson

Worth the money.

I have very bad arthritis in my hands and getting an umbrella up then back down is difficult for me especially when I have something in my other hand. This helps so much. A press to open and another to fold the canopy. I still push the stem in myself, but the fiddly catches are gone. Don't want to go back to the ordinary sort again. Worth the money.

Rebekah Terrell

The umbrellas looked lovely!

The umbrellas looked lovely! My daughter's wedding ended up being sunny, so they stayed in the box and weren't needed. I only took a proper look later when I was getting them ready to sell on. They are a bit bulkier folded than I imagined, but still very nice and good value for what I paid.

Candace Galloway

There is a sleeve included, which keeps it tidy when packed.

Coverage is smaller than a golf umbrella, but that's the compromise that makes this useful to me. Folded up, it goes into a medium pocket on my golf bag instead of sticking out like a long umbrella. The oval carabiner handle also gives me a way to hang it from the bag when that is more convenient. There is a sleeve included, which keeps it tidy when packed. I've tried the automatic action several times and both opening and collapsing the canopy have been straightforward. For the amount I paid I'm very happy to keep it in the bag for whenever rain turns up. I probably wouldn't spend a huge amount on an umbrella, so this strikes a good balance between cost and usefulness.

Clarence Patterson

For the price, I'm happy with the choice.

I wanted a dependable umbrella for my October trip to Europe. There was plenty of rain in Berlin and Rome, so this got a lot of use. It takes up more room folded than I'd ideally like, but it feels solid and was very useful to have along. For the price, I'm happy with the choice.

Valerie Booth

Really pleased with this umbrella!

Really pleased with this umbrella! The cream white looks lovely and it has kept me dry through light showers and heavier rain. There is a generous canopy without it feeling enormous to carry. It's a little long for my purse, but feels solid and well put together.

Sonya Yoder

I am very taken with the look of it.

This one is staying in the car so I have an umbrella if the weather changes while I am out. I am very taken with the look of it. Haven't actually needed to use it in rain yet but I think it will be just what I wanted when the rainy season gets going here in California. It turned up quickly and everything looked fine.I would recommend it to somebody wanting a handy umbrella to keep ready

Ricardo Daugherty

I didn't expect to like this umbrella quite so much.

I didn't expect to like this umbrella quite so much. There is more room underneath then I thought there would be from the folded size. Feels solidly put together and the handle is easy for me to keep hold of, without the weight being a bother. I'm outside for the school lunch break and wanted some shade for the top of my head, since I can't really put sunscreen there. It has been working out very nicely and I hope to get years of use from it.

Kaylee Mcpherson

Does a good job keeping me dry in Florida showers.

Does a good job keeping me dry in Florida showers. I went for green and it looks great, a bit different from most umbrellas I see. Opens without any fuss and the coverage is just right for me. Closing takes a little effort, though. Only when pressing the telescoping stem back in after the canopy closes. Not a huge issue. Still pleased with it and would recommend.

Shawn Huffman

Great size: Covers me well, easy to carry about, not clunky.

Great size: Covers me well, easy to carry about, not clunky. One press and its up. I LOVE that the flexible ribs have a little give in a breeze. My two small things are: I'd prefer a wrist strap AND a slightly softer feel to the handle. Neither spoils it for me, I'm really pleased with this umbrella! :)
