I am liking this umbrella very much. It reached me in two weeks when I thought to wait a whole month. In person it is even nicer than the photo. I live in Seattle and there are so many days with rain here. The beige colour was a big reason for choosing it, it has a calm look to me. There is no sunshine on these dull days but having something nice above my head can still make a good feeling.

Its sturdy, easy enough to carry and looks smart in black.
Rainy days are a bit less annoying now! Its sturdy, easy enough to carry and looks smart in black. People seem to notice it on the pavement, which helps when we're trying not to bump umbrellas as we pass. I try to leave it open to dry before putting it away, something I wasnt very good at with my old ones. Overall I'm delighted with this umbrella!

Happy to recommend these.
Well! These turned out just about how I hoped. I'm a Big Guy, so a tiny patch of cover isn't much use to me. This opens to roughly 105 cm and is a sensible size for keeping me covered, without being one of those enormous umbrellas you never want to carry. Push the button and up it goes - very handy. The frame has 30 flexible ribs, and it feels GOOD and solid once open! One stays in the car, another lives at work, and the third goes with my golf bag, so I don't have to remember to move the same umbrella around. All gray, which suits me fine, no fuss about what goes with what. They fold away without taking over the whole bag. For an everyday umbrella this is exactly the sort of thing I wanted. Happy to recommend these.

It came sooner than I thought ,and it is just what I hoped for.
It came sooner than I thought ,and it is just what I hoped for. My sister has had several umbrellas over the years ,and I've carried them over to Germany for her. I can imagine people in France and the U.K. appreciating this sort too lol. There's something about an umbrella that feels properly built, you don't mind paying for it when you expect to keep it a long time.

The beige looks lovely in person!
The pictures were what made me choose this umbrella, and it was just as nice when I opened the parcel. The beige looks lovely in person! I'm almost hoping for a wet day so I have an excuse to take it out. Pressing the button folds the canopy in, and pushing the shaft back down afterwards hasn't been a struggle for me. I had wondered about that after reading other comments. It feels properly made and quite sturdy.Very happy with how it looks as well as how it works

Probably my favourite compact so far.
I've usually done well with compact umbrellas and this one's been excellent! A press opens it, another closes the canopy, and I compress the telescoping shaft afterwards. That's worked reliably for me. The build overall, it's very good for something you can pack away like this. Probably my favourite compact so far. Still an 'almost' perfect, because a beefier frame would reassure me if the wind got really strong.

Best umbrella I've had for everyday use.
Best umbrella I've had for everyday use. Gives good cover without being a great long thing to carry, and the frame feels steady when a breeze gets up. A softer grip would make the handle a bit nicer on the hand but its a small niggle. Rain beads on the canopy so a few shakes get most of it off.......still let it air before putting it away though. Very easy to recommend

A good umbrella, well worth getting.
A good umbrella, well worth getting. A good umbrella, well worth getting. A good umbrella, well worth getting. A good umbrella, well worth getting. A good umbrella, well worth getting. A good umbrella, well worth getting. A good umbrella, well worth getting. Very good indeed.

I love this one, I really do!
I love this one, I really do! I've gone through quite a few umbrellas looking for shade I can use every day. This has become my favorite. It is practical but still looks cute, which matters to me too. Keeping the direct sun off makes being outside feel so much nicer. Anyone who wants some everyday shade without carrying something ugly should give this umbrella a look!
Colton Salinas
It feels comfortable to carry too.
My husband and I walk the golf course, and this has been very handy for a little shade between shots. There's a decent amount of canopy without looking like I'm hauling something ridiculous around. It feels comfortable to carry too. Some of the people playing near us have already asked where they could get the same one!

No complains here about this little umbie.
No complains here about this little umbie. It's been useful through sleety weather and proper downpours. You do have to remember it's a folding travel one, not something huge. I wear a raincoat when it's really coming down, and this gives my head and purse some extra cover. Goes in my bag too (not one of those bags with your entire household inside...) and does exactly what I need it to do.

I got plenty of teasing for taking an umbrella backpacking...then the rain came...suddenly everybody liked the idea! Several friends have picked one up since walking with me. Around western north carolina those regular afternoon showers mean stopping, taking packs off, getting into rain clothes, sweating in them, then stopping again to take them off. I pull this out of the side of my pack, press the button and carry on. Tucking the handle beneath my chest strap usually leaves my hands free, with the canopy over both me and the pack...and no getting steamed inside waterproof clothing. I sleep beneath a tarp at night and put the umbrella by my head for rain that comes in from the side. Much nicer than having soggy, chilly rain gear sitting around afterwards. The jokes tend to stop once everyone else is getting their raingear out!

Only had it a couple of days so no proper rain test yet.
Only had it a couple of days so no proper rain test yet. Opened it up and it feels sturdy, with more cover than I expected. Could share if you stood close. The sleeve is useful. Button opens it and folds the canopy, then I press the telescoping section down to pack it. Fits my work bag fine. Four stars for now until I've actually been out with it in the rain.
Stefanie Cunningham
I'm tempted to give these to friends, that's how much I like mine.
I'm tempted to give these to friends, that's how much I like mine.Room for two if we stand close, and being able to shut the canopy with a press is brilliant getting on a bus. You do need a firm grip when the wind picks up though, or your umbrella might take its own trip down the road.
Michaela Fischer
I'm very happy with it.
A year of use around Greater Boston and this umbrella is still looking good. It's had its share of wind and rain, with nothing noticeably wearing out yet. I'm very happy with it. The cream white has a nice, cheerful look without being fussy, and people do notice it. If I eventually need another umbrella, I'd be quite content to buy the same one again.
Harry Walton
The size is practical for carrying and everyday rain.
The handle forms a closed oval loop and can be clipped onto a bag, rather than hanging from an open hook. A press of the button extends the umbrella and opens the canopy. Pressing again draws the fabric closed; the telescoping shaft then needs to be pushed down manually. The size is practical for carrying and everyday rain.
Ruth Holloway
The build feels good too, not flimsy.
The button pops it open and brings the canopy back in again. Clever, I hadn't used one like that before. You still press the stem down afterwards, which is simple enough. Folded it fits my bag, opened it gives a useful amount of shelter. The build feels good too, not flimsy. I like having a choice of colours. Went with gray and it looks softer than the very dark umbrellas I usually carry, makes me smile on a gloomy winter day.

Lovely little umbrella, does exactly what we wanted.
My husband found a little umbrella at a yard sale & kept it handy for the quick trip out to the car. Our 3 year old grandson spotted it & thought it was WONDERFUL. Grandpa showed him what to do & he looked so pleased with himself. Naturally grandma had to get him a new one. (The old one would probably have done him nicely... but that's grandmothers for you!). First thing he did was try to shelter his mommy underneath it so she could stay dry! Lovely little umbrella, does exactly what we wanted.

i am pleased with the umbrellas, only muddle was when i placed the order,i wanted 1 and somehow put 2 in,i spotted it a few minutes later and got annoyed with myself..i should of looked properly before pressing anything, thats what happens when i rush, but that doesnt change what i think of the actual umbrella. it opens nice and covers me well, i have tried it in the rain and no complaints there. easy enough to carry about too, which is what i wanted, not anything fancy. i keep thinking i need to check things closer before finishing an order instead of noticing after, anyway the product itself i am happy with and would pick the same one again
Carla Rodgers
Easily my favourite umbrella.
After losing the one I'd carried for a year, I ordered another. Easily my favourite umbrella. Solid construction. Looks good. The button folds the canopy as I step indoors, then I press the shaft back down by hand. Much less fumbling at the doorway. Coverage isn't enormous, but it's a very useful size for an umbrella that packs down like this.
Claudia Mayo
I am happy carrying it for the shade as much as for the rain.
My son watched me open it and said, "that's bigger than I thought it would be!" It does give me a good amount of cover. But the thing I enjoy most is the shade. Gray on the outside and black underneath, so when I look up I'm seeing a dark surface rather than a bright one. That feels much nicer to me when the sun is out. I don't need anything clever, just a comfortable patch of shade I can take along. It isn't feather light, but for me that's a fair trade for the coverage. I am happy carrying it for the shade as much as for the rain.
Becky Flynn
it's light enough for me and has done well on breezy days.
it's light enough for me and has done well on breezy days. i use the train, which means a fair amount of walking through the city, and this has been a good umbrella for that. i've even thought about getting some for people at work. the one niggle is that it's not the tiniest folded umbrella, so it takes up a little more room than i'd like. still goes in my backpack without a problem though. the automatic opening is useful when i'm heading out of the station and it gives me good cover from the rain.
Sylvia Wallace
We're thinking of replacing it.
My fiance used this for months and was quite attached to it, right up until he left it somewhere. We're thinking of replacing it.It's got a substantial feel and there's room for both of us if we stay close, which is useful when we're out together. You do notice a bit more weight than with a tiny folding umbrella, and it's not the smallest thing once packed away. But for me that's a fair exchange for something that feels sturdy and gives decent shelter. He liked it as much as I did, so another one would make sense.
Noah Clarke
The button opening is handy, and it also brings the canopy down.
A good middle size - enough cover without feeling like a huge golf umbrella. Two of us can tuck under it if we stay close. Feels well assembled, though I've only had a few chances to use it. The button opening is handy, and it also brings the canopy down. Only small drawback is having to push the telescoping section back in afterwards. A shake gets most of the water off before I put it away to dry.If it keeps holding up like this, I'll be happy with the choice.
Devin Cooper
Has what I wanted: opens at a button press, sturdy and easy to carry.
Has what I wanted: opens at a button press, sturdy and easy to carry. I like the blue, it looks smart without being too fussy. So far it's all good. Now I'm just hoping it serves me as long as the last umbrella did, a dozen years would make me a very happy man.
Kaitlin Ali
In return you get a sturdy feel and useful coverage.
More substantial than the tiny folding umbrellas, so it wouldn't be my pick for the smallest possible package. In return you get a sturdy feel and useful coverage. The price seemed fair for the quality. Worth considering if a little extra folded length doesn't bother you.
Joy Villegas
Passed somebody on campus carrying the same umbrella recently.
Living with sunshine nearly every day in Tucson, I'm happy to have some shade and feel less hot walking to the campus shuttle. Have been carrying it for about two weeks Not my choice when the wind picks up, but otherwise I'm pleased with it. Passed somebody on campus carrying the same umbrella recently. We both thought it was a really useful thing to have for these sunny walks!
Alex Conway
It gives me a decent bit of shade and folds away when I'm done.
I use this umbrella for shade during breaks from cutting the grass on hot summer days. My medication means I need to be careful about too much sun, so I like having something I can hold over myself when I'm off the tractor. It gives me a decent bit of shade and folds away when I'm done.
Kirk Stevens
Better than I expected and a good buy.
I've had this a little over a year now (the blue was what caught my eye...) and it gets carried a lot. At first the material and folding bits seemed OK, not anything particularly "premium", so I wasn't making big predictions about how long it would last... Well, its still opening and closing properly and the colour hasn't changed much either. I don't go looking for strong winds with it, but the everyday breezes haven't caused trouble. Better than I expected and a good buy.
Linda Mullen
This has been just what I wanted for my walk home from work.
This has been just what I wanted for my walk home from work. I'm very fair skinned and carrying a little shade makes that journey much more comfortable. The material looks lovely, and people have been very complimentary about it. I felt rather self conscious the first time I used an umbrella in sunshine, wondering what anyone would say. There hasn't been a single unpleasant comment. Instead I get asked where I found it, often by people wanting something similar. The part I am a bit cautious with is the closing mechanism. The button closes the canopy, not the whole length of the umbrella, and pushing it back to its folded size takes a deliberate effort. It works properly, I just wouldn't want to hurry that part. Apart from wanting a gentler finish to closing it, I'm happy with both the appearance and the shade it gives.

A very useful umbrella for my daily trip.
Downtown Seattle is where I work and the wind between buildings can make a wet day pretty unpleasant. This umbrella has coped well so far and covers me with my backpack on, not just my head. The closed loop handle is handy for keeping hold of it on the bus without juggling everything. It's easy to carry out of the way once folded, too. A very useful umbrella for my daily trip.
Shawna Walton
Overall happy with the quality for what I paid.
Build & sturdiness have impressed me for the money. Has coped well with the rain so far - feels properly put together. Picked pink, lovely colour.Handle is a little short for my grip & the oval loop doesn't leave as much room as I would like. I end up resting my thumb against the shaft to feel more secure. Nothing wrong with it, just not my favourite shape to hold. Folded length is about 40cm, which is more than I'd pictured, so it pokes out of my work bag. Opened up it's around 105cm across; decent for one, but I had imagined a little more cover. Still good value.I've gone with four stars mainly for the handle. A roomier grip would make this much closer to ideal for me. Overall happy with the quality for what I paid.

This umbrella has changed my mind ...
Years ago, at college beside one of the Great Lakes, I watched a whole crowd of students have their umbrellas flipped by the same gust. That picture has stayed with me, and for a long time a raincoat seemed a better use of money. This umbrella has changed my mind ... the frame has some give to it, and it has kept me covered on the blustery days I've used it. I'm not expecting miracles with rain coming sideways, but it feels reassuringly solid for getting around in wet weather. It now has a regular place in my car instead of being something I leave behind and regret. (Starting to think another one should live in the truck...)
Vicki Small
Works for what I need.
I wanted a plain blue umbrella with a decent amount of cover and this suits me. Pictures aren't much help for judging how big it will be. It's a folding umbrella rather than one of those long oversized ones, which is worth noticing in the description. Works for what I need. The canopy has enough room for me and it packs away neatly.
Kent Dunlap
Almost makes the rain entertaining.
Umbrellas have never really been my thing. I wear a proper rain hat. Not one of those tiny things that comes out of a plastic packet, an actual hat. Then bus duty at school meant standing out in pooring rain and I had to reconsider. I like black AND I like simple, so this one suits me.The cover is enough for me without being a whole tent, and the button is very handy when I need it open quickly. Being able to collapse the canopy that way is nice too. Almost makes the rain entertaining.
Summer Glass
It's been a surprisingly good little umbrella for us.
My 3 year old wants this out whether there's rain or just sunshine. He also insists on using it as his pretend walking stick. I keep expecting his carrying it about to leave it looking battered, but there's only a few scuffs so far. It's been a surprisingly good little umbrella for us.
Jennifer Moon
She LOVED this one.
Christmas shopping for my mother is hard, she has everything and buys whatever else she wants. With her dogs in mind I thought an umbrella she could take out with them might actually be useful. She LOVED this one. Really pleased to have found a present that wasn't just another thing she didn't need!
Darlene Hutchinson
The beige is a lovely soft shade.
The beige is a lovely soft shade. one press gets it open, and another brings the canopy down. feels sturdy without the ribs being too rigid. rain beads off the fabric nicely and there's a comfortable amount of cover. the handle feels good to hold too. folds down neatly for everyday carrying, useful in sunshine as well as showers!
Robyn Kirby
Credit where it's due, a very good umbrella.
Credit where it's due, a very good umbrella. The dry weather finally ended here in the NW this evening, so it came along on the dog walk. There was some blustery rain and it handled it without trouble. For what I paid, I think the quality is excellent. Almost feels like it ought to have cost more. Honestly!

Worth recommending.
Ticks the things I want in a travel umbrella:* Neat appearance* Manageable to carry* Sturdy frame* Sensible button action* Actually shelters you.My wife is normally very hard on folding umbrellas. Six months with this one and it's still going well, which already counts for something here. Hopefully it will be with us for years, which would be quite a record in our house. Nothing much to complain about and the price seems fair.I hadn't come across this make before, but I'll remember it next time we need an umbrella. Worth recommending.

Has more weight to it than I expected, quite a solid feeling umbrella.
Has more weight to it than I expected, quite a solid feeling umbrella. The central shaft feels substantial too. I keep noticing the weight, but it does make the whole thing feel reassuring. The button works nicely for opening and pulling the canopy shut. You still compress the telescoping part yourself afterwards, so I watch where my fingers are. The sleeve is decent and the finish looks neat. I wouldn't choose it for the tiniest bag. If what you want is a proper sized umbrella that folds into something easier to carry, this does that very well for me.
Christine Bishop
It turned out to be just right.
Finding a Christmas gift for my mother is tricky because she tends to buy whatever she wants before anyone else can. An umbrella seemed like something practical she might actually enjoy, so I took a chance on this one. It turned out to be just right. She was absolutely DELIGHTED, and that made the whole present-hunting business worthwhile!

Being able to make my own patch of shade made a real difference.
Back from two weeks travelling around China, and the heat in Beijing, Xi'an, Changsha and Guangzhou was something else. That umbrella ended up being one of the things I used most. Being able to make my own patch of shade made a real difference. I was opening and closing it several times every day, with no trouble from the mechanism. A gust up on the Great Wall turned the canopy inside out, but it settled back into shape and was fine afterwards.
I hate the sticky feeling of sunscreen when you're already hot and everything is humid. Having some shade to walk under was such a relief, even though of course it didn't make the heat go away. Whenever we were out in direct sunshine, out came the umbrella. An afternoon shower in Xi'an gave it a chance to do its other job too, and it kept me dry. It tucked into my messenger bag comfortably afterwards. I carried it around all day without really thinking about the extra weight.
I'm very fair skinned and really not someone who copes well with high temperatures. Between the portable shade and keeping bottled water handy, the hot days were much more manageable for me. Definitely glad I made room for it.
Norman Knox
It handles the windy walks across campus well.
It handles the windy walks across campus well. I've used it several times over the past month and it hasn't turned inside out. Keeps the rain off nicely and feels steady to hold. I've noticed a few interested looks from people battling with their own umbrellas. A very satisfying purchase, and one I'm glad to have on wet days.
Johnny Dorsey
Winter walks are nicer with this pink umbrella.
Winter walks are nicer with this pink umbrella. It's so pretty! The colour stands out and just makes a grey day feel a bit less dull. Its not enormous but it feels sturdy when there's some wind. Now if I leave it with the wet umbrellas somewhere I can pick mine out straight away on the way out.I'd like to get these for family members as well, only I'd let them choose the colour. Not sure they'd all be as keen on pink as me.
Lindsey James
Probably the nicest umbrella I've had.
Probably the nicest umbrella I've had. The whole thing feels carefully made, from the firm telescoping stem to the fabric stretched over all those ribs. I like having the open and fold controls on a button, and the enclosed oval handle makes a good grip. There is a proper sleeve for putting it away too!Nothing feels flimsy or overcomplicated. I've been impressed enough that I'd happily look at another Haven umbrella when I need one.
Don Reese
it does feel much better put together though.
I've worked my way through a fair number of folding umbrellas over the years. Usually the very small ones feel flimsy, or give up when the wind gets under them. What I wanted this time was decent coverage without carrying a full length umbrella. This one is around 40cm folded, so it is longer than the little pocket versions, and there is a bit more weight to carry. it does feel much better put together though. I've been dry underneath it and it has handled the gusts I've met without fuss. Don't expect it to disappear into a tiny handbag or a narrow briefcase. If you can spare the space, I think the sturdier feel is worth that compromise. I'm hoping it lasts well and intend to bring it on my travels.
Jenny Solomon
Happy with it.
Tried this out yesterday for the first time and it worked just as I hoped. Happy with it. The carry sleeve is useful, and I was especially glad of the loop handle -- I tend to put umbrellas down and forget them, so keeping hold of this is easier. The open canopy also gives me room for the things I carry in and out of work, rather than leaving them sticking out into the rain.
Allison Munoz
It does a decent job in the rain.
It does a decent job in the rain. I'm tall and there's enough cover for me, plus my purse stays underneath which I appreciateThe part I'm less keen on is carrying it. Even folded it's quite chunky in my bag, and with all my other stuff on public transport to work its a bit much. Useful when it's wet, just not as convenient for commuting as I'd hoped.
Max Nolan
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. The frame feels solid, not flimsy or bargain bin at all. I wasn't sure about having a black underside with the green outside, thought it might look a bit dark. In use I hardly notice it and the green looks lovely. That's about my only hesitation, otherwise so cute and I'm delighted with it!!
