Does the job, rain stays outside, that is the important part. One press opens it, a second brings the canopy down; after that you shorten the telescopic stem by hand. I had a similar umbrella before and was happy with it, this one is equally useful. Nothing complicated. Arrived quickly as well. P.S.: Mine is beige. A simple colour, but that suits me, and the size is handy.

Looks nice otherwise.
Neat little package once it's in the sleeve. Getting it folded quite that neatly again is another matter, and I have to fiddle with it before the sleeve will go on. Perhaps these old lady hands aren't as clever as they used to be (smile). Looks nice otherwise.

A little patience goes a long way, and so does a handy umbrella!
I am so happy I bought this umbrella, and I really appreciated how kindly my questions were handled. I had a different idea of how it worked when I bought it, so I got in touch to explain what I was thinking. The reply was patient, and I wasn't made to feel silly for considering an exchange.(I ended up keeping it because I like the umbrella so much! It has been really useful in the windy weather here in San Francisco, and goodness knows we get plenty of that. Having something that feels strong makes a difference! ) Between the reassuring feel of the umbrella, the helpful response, and simply having one ready when I need it, this has turned into a purchase I'm very pleased about. A little patience goes a long way, and so does a handy umbrella! :)

A little smaller across than some of the folding umbrellas I've had.
A little smaller across than some of the folding umbrellas I've had. Still feels reassuringly sturdy, and has handled breezy rain well so far.The button opens it and closes the canopy, then you compress the pole yourself.More mechanism than I'm used to, so it's too early to say how long it will last.

excellent price in my opinion.
An elegant little companion for a sunny walk through the French Quarter, or really whenever you need some shade...Nicely put together and the black looks lovely. Already wondering whether I should get a second one....excellent price in my opinion. The delivery was prompt as well. VERY happy with this purchase and I would happily recommend the seller too.

My daughter-in-law is delighted with the umbrella I gave her.
My daughter-in-law is delighted with the umbrella I gave her. It feels substantial and opens wide enough for her walk between work and the car when it's pouring. The whole thing looks quite smart, more expensive than it was. I particularly like the oval loop handle, which is comfortable to hold.
Brian Wade
The handle is what I prefer most.
The dog seems happy. The handle is what I prefer most. It is a closed oval, not a hook, and feels convenient for holding or carrying it folded. For this price the size and general quality are both good. The pole (middle umbrella shaft) is still pushed back with your hand after the button shuts the canopy. This took me a little getting used to. A small disappointment is needing that extra step, but I understand it is how this kind works. Even so, out of the folding umbrellas I have tried, this is the one I like using most.
Jaclyn Mercer
a cheerful purchase with a perfectly sensible purpose.
a pink umbrella brings a small piece of cheer to an otherwise grey day, without forgetting what it is meant to do. the colour has more charm in person than a picture can suggest. there is something pleasing about stepping into the rain with a bright little shelter of your own. it folds away when the clouds have finished their business, so the practical side is covered too. a cheerful purchase with a perfectly sensible purpose.

Useful coverage in the rain without a huge umbrella to carry.
Useful coverage in the rain without a huge umbrella to carry. Comfortable for me on my own and enough room for someone close beside me when needed. The shaft feels solid, looks quite professional have only had it out in light wind so can't comment on anything stronger. Opens promptly with the button. The closed loop handle is easy to grip and does not feel flimsy.
Carla Collier
the oval handle adds a distinctive touch.
Of all the umbrellas I have owned, this is the one I most enjoy using. As a native Floridian I have had ample opportunity to judge them. It opens cleanly, feels substantial, and the construction gives a reassuring impression. Longevity is always a question only time can answer, of course. What elevates it for me is the appearance; the oval handle adds a distinctive touch. For the practical business of staying dry it performs admirably, and it manages to look good while doing so.

Mom has managed a good pick for once
An early Birthday present that somehow became a late one ..that is how it goes. My daughter is in Boston, where carrying an umbrella can be a nuisance in the wind. She says this one has felt sturdy on her rainy walks !!! Black was exactly what she wanted too !! Mom has managed a good pick for once ;-)
Collin Wagner
Happy with it for the way I use it.
Folded length is about 40cm -- not tiny, but still manageable. It's a fairly chunky bundle as well, so anyone expecting it to disappear into a small purse should bear that in mind. Compact... with limits. I keep mine with my photography gear and use it around Big Cypress in South Florida. Summer sun there is a pretty good reason to carry your own shade. This umbrella has been useful for that, and it hasn't felt flimsy when I've had to make my way through thicker growth. Happy with it for the way I use it.

I'm finding it easier to enjoy being outdoors again.
I'm finding it easier to enjoy being outdoors again. A sun allergy is something I've only recently had to think about, and giving up so much outside time has been difficult for me. Carrying a bit of shade helps me feel more comfortable on the outings I do take. The umbrella feels well put together, has been useful in the rain too, and is lovely to look at. Being quick to open and fold away is another thing I appreciate.
Robert Sparks
Generous when open but folds into something portable.
Generous when open but folds into something portable. In rain it gives me my own little "dry patch", and friends comment on the size compared with how little space it takes when folded.I've used mine for two years and the automatic opening and canopy closing still work nicely.
Nathaniel Novak
Happy to carry this one in my bag.
Happy to carry this one in my bag. It feels durable and doesn't take up loads of space. The button opens it and also closes the canopy, but you still have to press the shaft down yourself. I'd prefer the whole thing to retract on its own. That's my only gripe, otherwise a decent umbrella for one person.
Cameron Webb
Honestly, probably the best umbrella I've had for breezy weather.
Honestly, probably the best umbrella I've had for breezy weather. Solid construction but it doesn't feel like a burden to carry. I like a wide canopy and the roughly 105cm spread suits me nicely. My favourite part is the button, one press to open and another to collapse the canopy. Very neat! It has quickly become the one I reach for. Would definitely recommend this one++++++
Christy Goodwin
I would def recommend them!
I'd been looking for a decent compact umbrella for a while, and the reviews persuaded me to give this one a try. Ordered two in black, one for myself and one for a co-worker. They look great! More coverage than I'd expected from something that folds up, and both feel sturdy. There was a little dust to wipe away when unpacking, nothing that took any effort. I would def recommend them!

It kept her dry and still looked good afterwards.
My girlfriend and myself both liked an umbrella we'd seen in a show, and she kept saying she'd love one in cream white. I looked at a few online but wasn't sure how well they'd last. This one looked more solid and reading what other people said helped me decide. Gave it to her as a gift and she was so happy with it. We got some proper rain a few days later so it didn't stay unused for long. It kept her dry and still looked good afterwards. Glad I went with this one and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking.
Patty May
If I lost it I'd be quite happy buying another.
Solidly put together and has done well in ordinary wind (nothing wild, I haven't tried taking it out in the worst weather). If I lost it I'd be quite happy buying another. There's comfortable cover for me, with room to squeeze somebody alongside if needed. I didn't expect to care about the automatic button, but it turns out to be a really useful thing when you've got a coffee or a shopping bag in your other hand. Makes getting under cover that much quicker.
Phillip Conley
Having some shade along that stretch makes the walk noticeably easier.
The material on this umbrella feels really good, and it has done exactly what I needed! I walk from the subway to work in a suit, which isn't much fun when summer gets hot. Having some shade along that stretch makes the walk noticeably easier. It opens wide enough to shade my shoulders and most of my upper body too, without being a nuisance to carry.
Meagan Madden
It isn't a huge umbrella...
I picked this up while I was working in the city and doing a lot of commuting. For getting from the car into a shop it is quite handy, and the button opening saves a bit of fiddling. Walking several blocks is where I find myself wanting more cover. If I've got my bag over one shoulder, either the bag or my other arm ends up outside the edge when the rain comes sideways. It isn't a huge umbrella...which is also why I can put it away in my everyday bag. Closing the canopy is quick, although u still have to press the handle and shaft together before packing it. I'll keep it as my just in case umbrella, but for a longer wet walk I'd rather carry something larger. Useful, just not everything I need.
Alisha Galvan
Probably the nicest umbrella I've bought so far.
Everything I checked matches the description. Probably the nicest umbrella I've bought so far.
Weight is around 390 grams and there are 30 flexible ribs.
The button action is excellent; the oval loop handle is more useful than I expected. Opens to a generous size without being awkward to carry. Excellent overall.
Logan Porter
Quite a lot of Umbrella when it's opened out!
Quite a lot of Umbrella when it's opened out! Folded up it looks fairly modest, but there's proper room underneath. The fabric feels substantial as well, not something I'd worry about tearing with normal use. Cream White has a lovely bright look, whether it's a rainy day or I just want some shade. Could it go round a golf course? Probably, though I'd be carrying it myself! It's got a bit of weight for an everyday bag, but nothing like lugging a giant umbrella about. Decent coverage without needing an extra person just to carry the thing!
Damon Mcgee
The umbrellas looked beautiful!
The umbrellas looked beautiful! As it happened my daughter's wedding day stayed sunny, so we never needed them. I only gave them a proper look later when I was getting them ready to sell on. They're a little bulkier folded than I'd expected, but still attractive and nicely made. Oh well, I thought they were worth what I paid.
Janice Noble
The construction is good and the open canopy is generous
The construction is good and the open canopy is generous; a little bulky for me, personally. The blue is more subdued than I had pictured. It's a matter of taste, but I wanted something brighter. My real reservation is putting it away with gloves on. The button gathers the canopy without trouble; shortening the telescoping stem still needs a proper grip, and gloves make that awkward for me. Nothing is wrong with the mechanism, I just find that last step fiddly. That's the reason for four stars, rather than my preference about the color.
Kerri Stuart
I don't need much more excuse than that!
It had to be pink, because that's my granddaughter's favorite, and being her grandma means I get to indulge her a little. I don't need much more excuse than that! The umbrella made her so happy, which is really what I was after in the first place. What else can I say? She LOVES it!
Nina Hansen
Turned out to be a really good choice.
My son chose this as a gift for my wife. At the price I wasn't expecting a particularly solid umbrella, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's nicely put together and she's had plenty of use from it with all the wet weather this year. She's also had a few nice comments about how it looks. Turned out to be a really good choice.

)This umbrella gives me a bit of that feeling.
Occasionally I see a perfectly ordinary object and wonder why its small conveniences weren't standard years ago.Rolling luggage falls into that category. (We had wheels long before airports got so large, didn't we?)This umbrella gives me a bit of that feeling. A button opens it, and another press gathers the canopy, rather than leaving me wrestling wet fabric. You still have to shorten the shaft yourself, which seems fair enough; I wasn't expecting a tiny robot. The closed loop handle is another sensible detail. I like having something my hand can actually hold onto, and the whole thing folds small enough to carry without planning my day around it. The blue looks good too, and people have commented on it.I've had three because I am apparently better at losing umbrellas than wearing them out. Each has felt solid, opened reliably and folded away neatly. Not terribly glamorous tests, but those are the things that matter to me.If I could just remember where I put it, that would solve my remaining umbrella problem. Until I sort that out, I'm quite happy with this.
Wanda Welch
This is an umbrella with confidence.
This is an umbrella with confidence. Enough cover to make me feel smug. Enough to stop that wet shoulder business. And SO much sturdier than the flimsy ones I've carried. The wind gave it a good shove and I was still walking along dry. Folded it away afterwards, no drama. Full five stars from me.
Shirley Hensley
My friend went a bit mad over his birthday umbrella.
My friend went a bit mad over his birthday umbrella. He's into swords and things, and was waving this about like one, then trying the button over and over. I didn't expect an umbrella to be that entertaining. A very successful present, judging by the amount of showing off.
Bonnie Christian
So far my work clothes have arrived dry.
Green is my favorite color, and I needed an umbrella that wouldn't feel flimsy on my daily walk to work! Keeping my clothes dry matters more to me than having the tiniest thing in my bag. Opened up, this gives me room without needing to pull my shoulders in, and it feels reassuring when the breeze picks up. It isn't weightless to carry back and forth every day, but I'll take that tradeoff. Watching other commuters wrestle with their umbrellas while I can just keep walking makes me glad I chose this one. So far my work clothes have arrived dry.
Dillon Velasquez
Ordered four umbrellas together.
Ordered four umbrellas together. Was more money altogether than I had expected to spend. Still, very pleased with how they handle a windy day.A bit much to tuck into a pocket, and I notice the weight in my purse. For using outside rather than just carrying around, these are great umbrellas.
Cynthia Ochoa
Arrived quickly too.
I sent my father-in-law this umbrella for Christmas and he really liked it. Arrived quickly too. It gives a good amount of cover, so be aware that folded doesn't mean pocket sized! He may not choose to pack it for his visit to England, but it is handy for him to have at home and should keep him well sheltered!
Rose Rangel
it matched the pictures, size seemed about what the description…
it matched the pictures, size seemed about what the description suggested. The oval loop on the handle turned out to be a nice extra, I can clip it to my bag instead of carrying it separately. Wouldn't mind a little more room in the sleeve though, but still pleased with it.
Kristen Morgan
Turns out I love it.
I've never spent this much on an umbrella before, so I did wonder if I was being silly. Turns out I love it. It feels really sturdy and looks smart in its sleeve. Not exactly the sort of thing you expect people to notice, but I've had compliments on it when carrying it around. I hardly ever bother writing reviews, which probably tells you something. Funny how pleased a simple umbrella can make you :D
Ricky Sellers
Very happy with the quality.
Ordered a green one each for my two children, 3 & 5. They are both delighted with them. Good cover when it's raining and they feel well put together. We practised using the button together until they knew what to expect. I still help with packing them away. Very happy with the quality.
Heidi Boyle
Putting it away needs a bit more effort though.
I'm happy with it, the button does what I expected and there's enough room underneath without the fabric feeling thin. Putting it away needs a bit more effort though. The canopy shuts with the button, then you have to push the shaft back down by hand. My arms aren't very strong so I brace the handle against myself to manage that part. Everything else is just right for me, hopefully the opening mechanism keeps working this smoothly for a long while :)
Alicia Benjamin
A good sized umbrella once it is up, and quite tidy folded down.
A good sized umbrella once it is up, and quite tidy folded down. The fabric and frame look decent to me.The overall impression is of a solid item. I have not taken it out in wet or windy weather yet, so there is no weather test to report. I expect it will be fine for ordinary use, with a little common sense about when to put it away. One caution worth mentioning is how quickly it springs open. Give yourself room, especially around other people or getting out of a car. Keep the tips away from faces, children, and the narrow space beside an open car door. There is quite a push behind it. A very definite "whump" when you press the button, rather satisfying actually. Closing is straightforward. The button brings the canopy together, then you push the telescoping shaft back down by hand. That last step doesn't bother me. I do take care gathering the fabric, with my finger away from the button while shortening it and slipping it into its sleeve. You don't want it springing out again while you are holding the folded material. Gathering the folds before pushing the shaft down seems easier than trying to do both things together. Happy to recommend it from what I have seen so far. A nice purchase, just allow some space when opening
Shelia Vang
Open it up and there's easily enough cover for me in the rain.
Lives in my laptop bag now, small enough folded that I don't mind leaving it there. Open it up and there's easily enough cover for me in the rain. The best part is the button. Out of the sleeve, one press and WHOOSH! it's open, no fiddling about. Getting to a doorway, another press and SNAP! the canopy folds away. I shake off the water and press the stem down by hand before putting it away. Really handy when I'm going in and out and don't want to wrestle with an umbrella.
Natasha Franklin
Happy with it overall.
Bought this a little more than a year ago (mainly for the pink colour...) and it's had plenty of use since. The fabric and mechanism seemed OK, but not really "high quality" so I didn't imagine it lasting very long... Yet it still looks decent, opens and closes as it should and has kept most of its colour. Its not one I'd trust in really strong gusts but ordinary breezy weather has been fine. Happy with it overall.
Max Glass
It folds away without leaving me with a long umbrella to carry.
PINK FOLDING UMBRELLA--Handy size, pretty colour--Good everyday quality. A magazine photo of a pink umbrella had stuck in my mind for quite a while, and that was the sort of look I wanted. My other umbrella has served me well, so I wasn't interested in something that was only decorative. This one has the substantial feel I was hoping for. The frame seems sturdy and the material sits neatly when it is open. I can see myself using it regularly rather than saving it for special occasions. The pink is a particularly pleasing shade, and it looks nice with the black underneath. It folds away without leaving me with a long umbrella to carry. I'd happily suggest it to anyone wanting a pretty umbrella that is also practical in the rain!
Alisha Tapia
It has done what I wanted in the rain.
Lovely Cream White colour and it feels like a proper umbrella, not something that will last one shower. It has done what I wanted in the rain. Taking off a star because the price feels a bit steep for me, although I'm keeping it.Oh and compact doesn't mean tiny here; it fits my backpack but takes more room than the really small folding ones. You do get a decent spread of canopy for that extra space, so it's a fair trade. The included sleeve is useful for keeping it tidy when packed away.
Matthew Dickerson
The oval loop on the end is comfortable in my hand, too.
I was using public transit around the city (driving meant over $100 a month just for parking), so an umbrella for those unshaded stops made sense. This folds up neatly for carrying during the rest of the trip, and feels very solidly made! The oval loop on the end is comfortable in my hand, too. Very useful for shade when there isn't a shelter, and I'm glad I decided to buy it.
Charlotte Choi
Happy to give it five stars for now.
Looks promising, time will tell how well it wears. The gray outside and black underneath look neat, and it opens to a useful size. The automatic action is working nicely so far. I wasn't particularly impressed with the packing, only a bag and no cushioning. Another umbrella I received recently had its own box, which seemed more sensible. Still, this one arrived without any marks or damage that I can find. I haven't had the opportunity to take it out in rain yet, so these are first impressions. Happy to give it five stars for now.
Kristy Shah
I can carry it for quite a while without my arm getting tired.
Useful shade on exposed trails, city sidewalks and days at theme parks. I can carry it for quite a while without my arm getting tired. The folding shaft means less length to deal with in my backpack -- a little sticks out, but that doesn't bother me. Opening with the button is straightforward, and I compress the shaft after collapsing the canopy. I can't judge anything scientific about the black underside, but being under it is more comfortable than standing in the sun.
Molly Reyes
I would happily recommend it.
After the two umbrellas I received at Christmas somehow ended up with other people, I started looking for another. What I liked about those was a solid frame and decent coverage, without having to carry a full-length umbrella around. This one gives me that same useful combination. It feels sturdy, the button is convenient, and it packs down neatly. The price was kinder than my earlier purchases too. I would happily recommend it.
Valerie Lin
Got this for my dad to take on holiday.
Got this for my dad to take on holiday. He holds it like he's marching with a flag. Needed a little practice getting it positioned, but now he thinks it's great. I would still like something a bit lighter for carrying around every day, although this one does the job.
Jaime Baldwin
Closed oval handle that's easy to hold.
For someone wanting a straightforward folding umbrella rather than anything fancy, this works well. Push-button opening. Manageable weight. Firm telescoping shaft. Flexible ribs. Closed oval handle that's easy to hold. Packs into its sleeve. A practical piece of kit.
Ariel Burns
It's a good size to cover one person.
I walk with my baby every day and this has been useful to have along. A little more weight than my old umbrella, but the easy opening makes that worth it for me. It's a good size to cover one person. Closing the canopy with the button is handy too, even though I still need to shorten the pole myself afterwards.
