A very good replacement for my old umbrella that broke.
A very good replacement for my old umbrella that broke. It arrived sooner than I had anticipated, with enough cardboard and paper around it to keep everything protected. What I wanted most was better coverage, since my old one left my shoulders damp whenever rain came in at an angle. This canopy gives me much better shelter across my upper body without being awkward to carry. I'd happily recommend it.

Rain coming down hard with some wind as well.
Been meaning to get an umbrella like this for a while, and it got put to use the day it arrived. Rain coming down hard with some wind as well. I stayed dry and it didn't flip over on me, which was a welcome change. What matters most is that it's ready quickly - press the button and up it goes. Press again to close the canopy, then push the shaft back down. It gives me the cover I wanted without fuss. Some people worry a lot about an umbrella's appearance. I honestly just want something that works, and this looks fine to me anyway.A very good buy in my opinion.

Now that I have actually used it in a proper downpour I have a better opinion of the umbrella itself, it feels substantial and kept the rain off me even when the wind picked up. There is a good amount of cover and it doesn't feel like something I need to replace straight away. (being dry at the end was the important part) So I have changed my rating to three stars because the umbrella deserves some credit. What still bothers me is how long I was left waiting for it, a good umbrella doesn't make that part of buying it any less frustrating. I would be more enthusiastic if getting it had been less of a drawn out business.--------------------My first impression was mostly about the wait, not the umbrella, since I couldn't use something that hadn't arrived. I wanted it for the rainy weather and was getting fed up waiting while it rained. It is here now and works well, but that earlier frustration is still part of how I feel about buying it.

Rain cover is good and it doesn't feel flimsy in a breeze.
The first one went down so well at home that we've ordered a second!Rain cover is good and it doesn't feel flimsy in a breeze. There's comfortable room for one, or two close together if it's only drizzling. Folded up, it stores neatly. The automatic canopy closure is handy at the door; a final push compresses the shaft for putting it away.
Alex Wolf
The green is lovely, and it feels sturdy in use.
I'm on my THIRD one of these now -- which probably tells you how much I like it. The green is lovely, and it feels sturdy in use. But what keeps me coming back is being able to collapse the canopy with a button. Getting into a car in pouring rain is awkward enough without reaching out to wrestle an umbrella shut. One press and it's out of the doorway; I can shorten the pole by hand once I'm inside. My first one went off with a friend at the station. It started raining just as she was about to catch her train, so I handed it over, fully expecting to see it again. Apparently that was optimistic. The second one disappeared after a meeting last month. I rang round the places I'd been that day and nobody could find it. Perhaps whoever picked it up liked it as much as I did. Anyway, number three is now ordered. I'd rather replace one I know I like than start looking for something else.

A lovely useful buy without spending a fortune.
Such a "cheerful" umbrella, even the beige makes a wet grey day feel a bit nicer. There's a decent amount of room underneath - two can tuck in close together. I especially like pressing a button to open it AND bring the canopy in again. A lovely useful buy without spending a fortune.

I would recommend the umbrella and the seller!
Won this umbrella while I was watering a tree, and am very satisfied with it!)) It feels excellent, larger than my old one, roughly 105 cm across when opened. The button works well and the ribs look strong. There is a sleeve too, which is handy. Delivery was around ten days, possibly quicker. The outside parcel had been knocked about on the way but the box inside protected everything. I would recommend the umbrella and the seller!

I appreciate the solid oval loop handle.
My aim was to find - and I did find - something practical without looking dull. The pink canopy gives me comfortable coverage in the rain, and the colour makes it easy to pick out among my things. I appreciate the solid oval loop handle. The button operation is convenient, and it packs down neatly into its sleeve when dry. Nothing complicated about carrying it around, which was important to me. A sensible purchase, and a distinctive enough colour that I stand a chance of keeping track of it!
Gene Spence
Excellent value.
For the price, the finish was a pleasant surprise. Gray on the outside with black underneath makes a smart combination. A press of the button puts it up; another pulls the canopy together, then you shorten the shaft by hand. Nothing complicated about it. The construction looks tidy throughout, and mine arrived quickly as well. Excellent value.

The price was reasonable as well.
Fed up with the flimsy little umbrellas that end up cluttering my porch. I wanted something that felt more substantial without being enormous to carry. This one looks handsome and gives decent cover, and so far I'm impressed. The price was reasonable as well. Hoping it stays a favourite rather than another thing on the porch.
Dean Spencer
The sleeve is my only real gripe.
The size when open is really useful, especially considering it folds up. It is longer closed than the tiny umbrellas I've had, but it still fits my bag and gives me comfortable coverage on my own.The sleeve is my only real gripe. It is included, but getting the umbrella back into it means taking time to smooth the folds first. I'd like a little more room in it, so four stars.

Hoping to get a good long life out of this.
Arrived quicker than I was expecting ,and it hasn't disappointed. My sister has had me bring umbrellas to Germany for her over the years ,and I can see this one being a favourite. People in France or the U.K. would appreciate it too lol. A decent umbrella is worth paying for when you're tired of flimsy ones. Hoping to get a good long life out of this.

The wait was a bit longer than I'd hoped for an umbrella.
The wait was a bit longer than I'd hoped for an umbrella. Now I've actually got it though, I like using it. The button works easily and the canopy deals with our usual weather.... Rain coming down wile there's still sunshine. Useful for some shade once it clears as well. The look is a little plainer than I imagined, but that isn't much of a complaint. If that's all I've got to pick at, Haven has done alright.
Bob Malone
The umbrellas are gorgeous!
My original orders got a little muddled in shipping, but customer service put it right and kept me informed by email. I really appreciated the fast reply and care taken with my query. The umbrellas are gorgeous! I bought 3 - They feel very well made and are lovely for a wedding!

This feels solid, and operating it is straightforward.
What I wanted was an umbrella that didn't immediately give up in a gust. Too many of my old ones turned inside out and ended up rusty. This feels solid, and operating it is straightforward. It's already got me through several proper downpours, so I'm happy with how it works. Unfortunately it hasn't solved my habit of leaving it at home when I'm in the car, or in the car when I'm at home. Another one might be the answer, since remembering things clearly isn't my strong point LOL

A sensible umbrella to pack when rain is possible rather than certain.
A sensible umbrella to pack when rain is possible rather than certain. Mine measures about 40cm folded, so it isn't one of the tiny ones, but it goes in my bag without trouble. The button gets it up promptly and the frame feels secure once open. I'd welcome a slightly shorter folded version, though this one is perfectly useful to keep with me.
Cole Collier
Eventually I put practicality first and tried this one.
I used to choose umbrellas mainly for their looks, then wonder why I was still getting wet. Eventually I put practicality first and tried this one. I now own three, and they've been dependable in the rain and wind I've taken them through. The canopy suits one person well, while the folded size makes it much easier to carry than a long umbrella. The closed oval handle gives me a secure grip, and there isn't a hook sticking out to catch on things. These are everyday workhorses, which is exactly what I needed. My only reservation is the rather utilitarian appearance of the handle and frame. Not quite a dressy umbrella, but that's a small compromise when the main purpose is to keep me DRY.
Jenny Logan
The umbrella has been great!
Didn't expect to like it this much. It feels sooo sturdy and I keep mentioning it to people. Here in San Diego I mostly want shade and it does that job nicely. Sitting in a beach chair you still have to hang on when the breeze catches it, but that's more about the person holding it. The umbrella has been great!
Faith Long
An attractive, useful umbrella that I would happily recommend.
I had reached the point where buying another cheap folding umbrella no longer seemed like a saving. Several had come and gone, so this time I wanted something I would actually enjoy using. I couldn't find much locally that appealed to me and eventually chose this Haven umbrella online, in green. The proportions are very good: enough cover for me without a huge canopy to manoeuvre, and room for someone else if we stand close together. It feels well assembled (I haven't run into the issues that made some of the reviews sound rather worrying). Pressing the button opens it promptly and smoothly. To put it away I use the button to collapse the canopy, then shorten the shaft by hand. That seems straightforward enough to me. Rain rolls off the fabric nicely, and the green is a welcome bit of colour when everything outside is grey. The oval loop handle isn't the traditional shape I was used to, but I find it comfortable and secure to hold. An attractive, useful umbrella that I would happily recommend.

A nicely made umbrella with good coverage once open.
A nicely made umbrella with good coverage once open. It has kept me dry, and I like how neatly it folds away. The one thing holding it back from five stars is that the open canopy takes some holding onto when the wind gets up! I'm quite small, so I notice the pull. If I were choosing again I might sacrifice a little coverage for something smaller.
Ernest Christian
We're both happy with them.
Got this for my girlfriend after getting one for my self. I was wary of compact umbrellas because my old one had struggled badly walking into the wind. This one feels much more reassuring, and hers has been good too. I won't pretend I've tested every possible gust, but for our normal walks there's been nothing to complain about. The frame feels solid when it's open and having it fold down afterwards is a real advantage. We're both happy with them.
Candace Parks
The quality really struck me.
Picked this out for someone at Christmas and got to see it unwrapped. The quality really struck me. I wasn't sure what to choose for her, and an umbrella seemed a useful answer without being too personal. Had actually been looking at umbrellas for myself before that.. but Christmas shopping tends to turn into buying for everybody else instead. This one felt nicely made when we opened it, not flimsy. For my own use I generally think I'd want more coverage than a compact gives, but the convenience won me over and I've ordered one too. So much for only buying other people's presents! I haven't put mine through any weather yet, so this is mostly my impression from seeing hers. With all the snow we've had this winter.. I can't help thinking there's a wet spring ahead. I'll have a better idea after some proper rainy days and can say more about using it then. Looking forward to having my own at last.
Dominique Hill
I got one for each of them.
Costs a bit more than I wanted, but both my kids say theirs have been good for walking across campus in the rain. I got one for each of them. They do fold, although you still need a fair bit of space in a full backpack. More substantial than the really tiny umbrellas, which is both the appeal and the compromise.
Latasha Sullivan
He gets compliments on it too.
There's a lot of rain where we live, so I wanted something my son could manage on the walk to school. Now wet mornings aren't such a battle because he's keen to take his umbrella. He gets compliments on it too. He can handle the opening and putting it away himself, which makes the whole walk easier for both of us.
Sierra Ellison
This has turned out to be a very good choice.
After a few umbrellas that were better at looking pretty than keeping me dry, I wanted something more practical. This has turned out to be a very good choice. I have several umbrellas, but this is the one I reach for when I don't want to carry a long one about. Open, it gives comfortable cover for me, though I wouldn't call it a huge family umbrella. The oval handle makes a secure loop to grip and the automatic action is useful when I'm juggling things. It's quite a workhorse without looking overly sporty. My one small reservation is that the loop handle makes the folded shape a little less tidy than a plain straight handle would. That hasn't stopped me using it, and I am much happier with the performance than with those purely decorative purchases.
Kristen Ryan
Much less awkward than juggling everything in the doorway.
A lovely looking umbrella and quite sturdy too, it feels like something I will get plenty of use from.I particularly like having the button when my hands are full of shopping , trying to get the car door open without getting everything wet. One press draws the canopy in quickly so I can climb in, then I shorten the shaft manually once I'm seated. Much less awkward than juggling everything in the doorway.
Joyce Rogers
OK I still haven't taken it out in rain.
OK I still haven't taken it out in rain. It is BIGGER folded than the little purse umbrella I've been reaching for, so that one has won so far. But I will use this eventually and it feels solid enough to make me optimistic. Opens to a decent amount of cover too.One thing I noticed straight away was that new umbrella smell. Left it on the back seat and could smell it when I opened the car again. Not horrible, just very noticeable.
Nancy Church
I'd happily recommend it.
Took it out in the rain with the wind getting up, and it gave me a lot more confidence than my usual umbrella. I could feel it pulling but it stayed steady enough to keep me covered. The closed loop is comfortable to hang on to. The handle picks up little scuffs, so worth taking care there, but otherwise it's been a great umbrella. I'd happily recommend it.
Bill Barrett
At last an Umbrella that feels right.
At last an Umbrella that feels right. Smart, substantial, nicely finished and a really good size! The 30 ribs give the canopy a lovely shape and it feels strong without being bulky when folded, the one thing I'd change is a slightly roomier handle for my hand. That's a small thing though, because the overall design and the way it opens are exactly what I wanted.
Kirsten Baker
I'm delighted with it.
My son liked his so much that I ended up getting one for my ex-husband and another for myself. The shaped loop handle gives it a stylish look and is handy for carrying it around. Best part is that it isn't just nice looking, it works well as an umbrella too. I'm delighted with it.
Hector Turner
Back for a second one.
Back for a second one. The first had an accident unrelated to the weather, so that wasn't the umbrella's fault. This feels just as sturdy and copes well with the breezes where I live. No turning inside out so far. After using one, I wouldn't bother looking at anything different.
Veronica Huff
Not all my earlier ones were so good...
Buying umbrellas has been a bit uncertain for me, but I'm pleased with this choice. Not all my earlier ones were so good... haha. Appearance and colour: The green looks lovely, with a tidy finish. From the first look I wondered if the style might be rather feminine, but seeing it open changed that impression. It's quite neutral, so as a man I don't feel odd carrying it. Strength: The support underneath looks more substantial than I was expecting. I feel it should manage a bit of wind, and the handle feels firm in my hand, not flimsy. Size: Being a folding umbrella, I had pictured something fairly small. Opened out it actually gives a generous amount of cover, a comfortable size for a grown man. For what I paid, the finishing is very nice. I expect to get plenty of use from it on wet days and when I need some shade from strong sunshine.

That awful wet school pickup persuaded us to get a different umbrella.
That awful wet school pickup persuaded us to get a different umbrella. My wife and son had come home soaked because there wasn't enough cover for them. This one has been much better for the rainy school run, with the two of them tucked close together underneath. A big improvement! P.S. we've already had it out in more rain and it has done its job nicely. Many thanks!

Having my own patch of shade made sitting there much more pleasant.
Took this along to my son's baseball game in that awful heat and was so glad I did! Having my own patch of shade made sitting there much more pleasant. There's enough cover for me without feeling buried under a huge umbrella, and holding it through the game wasn't a chore.
Walter Silva
Good for shade as well as rain.
Absolutely lovely looking. The black fabric looks smart, and the loop handle and shaft both feel solid. Open, the canopy is roughly 105cm across, so it gives useful cover without being a big golf umbrella. It seems sturdy, though I haven't put it to a serious wind test. Good for shade as well as rain. One press opens it; another folds the canopy, then I push the pole in. Easy to use and worth recommending.

Small enough to pack, but a useful umbrella once open.
Small enough to pack, but a useful umbrella once open. I chose blue for last year's tropical trip and used it for both sunny walks and rainy days. After leaving it open to dry overnight, I wrapped the canopy neatly and put it in my tote again. Really convenient! Plenty of cover for just me!
Kristopher Harris
A smart-looking umbrella matters to me.
A smart-looking umbrella matters to me. There's enough coverage for my walk from the train to work, without making me feel I'm taking over the whole pavement. I can pass other people comfortably rather than dodge around them. The push-button opening is particularly handy, and the whole thing feels reassuringly solid.
Beth Huff
Excellent for what it is.
Excellent for what it is. We use it for shade near the equator and have been very happy. The construction feels firm, certainly not flimsy to us. It's a folding umbrella, though, so expecting it to behave exactly like a full-size nonfolding one doesn't seem fair.

The sun here in the southwest was the reason I wanted this, more than the rain. It gives me a comfortable patch of shade without being awkward to carry around.I took it along for the theme park visits and it was especially welcome waiting in those long summer lines. Standing out on the hot pavement is no fun, and having shade overhead made a real difference. Opening it was easy, and I could fold it away when I didn't need it. I do hold it more carefully when gusts pick up, as it can tug at your arm. Very useful overall, just wouldn't treat it as something to battle strong wind with.
Marisa Osborne
For the price, there is a lot to like here.
Overall: A useful car or travel umbrella, with more coverage than its folded size would suggest. Convenient enough for most rainy days, although I would still choose a larger umbrella if carrying one wasn't an issue. The button is helpful, but closing everything away isn't quite a one-button job.
For the price, there is a lot to like here. Packed down it fits neatly beside my seat, rather than taking up the space a long umbrella would. Once opened, it doesn't feel like I've traded away most of the shelter just to have something compact. I've ended up reaching for it as my everyday umbrella because it's already in the car, which probably says more about its usefulness than anything else.
I wouldn't put a folding umbrella in quite the same category as a sturdy full-length one, though. There are more joints and moving sections involved, and I still pay attention to how I'm holding it when the wind picks up. It has been fine for ordinary use, but I wouldn't deliberately test how much a compact umbrella could stand just because the canopy looks substantial.
The automatic action is convenient when getting out of the car. Pressing the button again brings the canopy down, but the shaft still needs pushing back in by hand before putting it away. That last push takes more effort than the button does, and is the main qualification I'd put on the automatic description. Not a fault, just not completely hands-off either.
On balance the useful size and easy storage outweigh that small inconvenience for me. It makes a sensible umbrella to have within reach, rather than leaving a bigger one behind because it's awkward to bring along. I'd consider buying it again.
Haley Powell
So yes, my arm does a little work.
I should probably explain that I live in Jersey City, where a rainy walk can feel like a personal argument with the wind. You see people wrestling with umbrellas, trying to keep them pointed into the weather while getting soaked anyway. That's the dramatic introduction over with. After three years here and several umbrellas, this is the one I've liked using most. The cover is a sensible size: I don't feel exposed, but I'm not trying to steer a small tent along the pavement either. The frame has stayed in shape through the gusts I've met so far, which is the main thing I wanted. Being fairly light to hold is nice until the wind gets underneath it, when you still need to pay attention and keep a firm grip. So yes, my arm does a little work. I'd rather that than lose the cover altogether.Would buy again, especially at this price.

How much is there to write about an umbrella?
How much is there to write about an umbrella? Not a great deal, I suppose, but I do think this one's lovely. I tend to like simple, understated things, and it goes well with what I normally carry. The stitching looks tidy too! The loop handle is a nice change from the usual shape. Most importantly, I've stayed dry beneath it!
Janet Nichols
She said it was nice not having rain all over her glasses.
I chose this umbrella as a present for a friend who normally carries a little folding one. We were caught in rain together one day and I lent her mine, she wears glasses and was so pleased to have some decent cover over her head. She said it was nice not having rain all over her glasses. That was what made me think an umbrella she actually liked using would be a good gift. I saw this one and thought it looked just right,so I ordered it for her. She now takes it whenever the weather looks wet and says she is pleased with it. I wear glasses too and keeping the rain off them matters to me as well. Very useful and nice looking, I would reccomend it.

I love the blue, it's a cheerful change when the weather is miserable.
I love the blue, it's a cheerful change when the weather is miserable. This has handled the windy wet days I've used it on without trouble. Coverage is fine for just me, but there isn't loads to spare for anything hanging off you...if your bag is nearly as big as you are, bear that in mind!
Jenny Espinoza
it looks cheerful on a wet day.
Travel size mattered to me, but so did having enough canopy to keep a proper summer downpour off my shoulders. We've certainly had enough of those in Georgia. This folds down to a sensible carrying size without feeling skimpy when it's open. I also like the cream white finish; it looks cheerful on a wet day. Overall, I'm delighted with the purchase.
Bridget Davenport
I love the blue on this umbrella!
I love the blue on this umbrella! first spotted one in a boutique and later found it online. really nice colour and it feels sturdy. opening is easy, closing the canopy too, but pressing the telescoping section down afterwards needs both hands and a firm push.

Needed some shade for a cross country journey.
Needed some shade for a cross country journey. My earlier choice was a huge umbrella...awkward to carry...why did I bring that???This one suited me much better. Could walk or even jog holding it...good shade overhead and it packed away easily whenever I didn't need it.

I was looking at umbrellas and this one caught my eye.
I was looking at umbrellas and this one caught my eye. That oval handle is different and the pink is just so cute. It'll go with my coats nicely. We're still in snow weather here so I haven't properly tried it out and can't say much about durability yet but...I wanted it as soon as I saw it!
Rhonda Mckenzie
The umbrella looks just as I expected
The umbrella looks just as I expected; a neat design with the details finished nicely. It feels more substantial than I thought it would for the price. I looked at about four other umbrellas in shops before deciding, and this had the best combination of appearance and sturdiness for me. The oval handle isn't particularly decorative, but it suits the overall design. Taken as a whole, it's a very attractive and practical umbrella.

For wet, breezy city days this has been a great umbrella to have.
For wet, breezy city days this has been a great umbrella to have. Walking around New York in the rain, i wasn't constantly wrestling with it while people nearby were sorting theirs out. Such a relief! It feels light in my hand without feeling flimsy and did a good job keeping me dry. Only thing that looks a little unusual is the loop handle, so I can imagine getting a question about that. It doesn't bother me though. A very nicely thought out umbrella!
