Got this as a present for someone living in the city. She says it's great for getting out in the rain without a struggle and keeping dry. Looks cute and feels sturdy enough. I'd wondered about it after reading a few doubtful reviews, but she's had no complaints at all and says it's as useful as any umbrella she's had before.

Attractive umbrella.
Attractive umbrella. Folds down well enough to keep in my car. One star off because the button needs a definite press and the shaft takes some effort to push back. It works -- just not as smooth as I'd hoped. We've had little rain here so I've only used it once, but it felt sturdy and did its job.

I'd like the handle to feel more solid and comfortable though.
I gave my groom one of the black umbrellas and kept the other to use on our wedding day. Thankfully the rain stayed away, but we've since left them in our cars for wet days. They're a generous size and the material has coped well with windy weather. I'd like the handle to feel more solid and comfortable though. For what we paid, I'm pleased with the pair!

There is certainly room for an older child underneath as well.
Selected this umbrella for my two-and-a-half-year-old to use with help. It is larger than a little children's umbrella, so I handle the button and the folding rather than expecting him to manage it alone. There is certainly room for an older child underneath as well. After a few months of use, including plenty of opening it when there is no rain, it still looks very good. The canopy opens promptly and feels quite substantial once it is up. I was expecting something lighter and less sturdy from a folding umbrella. The blue is close to the photograph, and the overall finish is pleasing. For us it has been a good purchase, provided an adult is there to help with using it.

A good umbrella overall.
A good umbrella overall. The push-button opening is my favorite part; I can get it up without a struggle. Coverage is decent, although I would still prefer a little more width. It also makes a comfortable bit of shade when the sun is out. The build feels good for the price, so I'm satisfied with it.

Good performance.
Good performance. Open width 105 cm, folded length 40 cm, weight about 390 grams.
Press the handle button and the pole extends, opening the canopy.once more,
Another press gathers the canopy in.the pole does not shorten itself.
It needs a firm press down by hand to reset, but this works properly. Is that just part of the automatic system?
I keep my thumb clear of the button when holding it up.
Quite useful when going indoors, isn't it?

It handles the wind without me having to keep fussing with it.
Wind is pretty much a constant on my campus, I think because everything around it is so flat. A cheap $5 umbrella meant spending the whole walk changing the angle so the wind wouldn't get underneath and flip it. Since getting this one I haven't had that battle. It handles the wind without me having to keep fussing with it. The automatic opening and canopy closing is a nice convenience as well, one less thing to struggle with on a wet day.Overall, I'd say this is a good choice if you need an umbrella that can cope with some wind.

Seems very good quality and a lovely bright colour.
My son had been asking for an umbrella for ages so finally I started looking. There are not many boys umbrellas that look nice to me. I showed him the blue one here and he wanted it straight away. Seems very good quality and a lovely bright colour. The weight is fine too. He even took a walk with it when there wasn't any rain. I would recommend it.Note: haven't had a chance to see how it does in rain yet.

Fun present that actually has a purpose.
A useful present for my "grown up" son, who still thinks being a ninja would be a fine career! He takes it along on his dog walks round the neighbourhood. The local kids have admired it and asked about it, which he finds rather entertaining. Fun present that actually has a purpose.

So far this one has felt solid when the weather turns.
Living in the city means getting hit with rain and gusts funneling between the buildings. After being disappointed with a couple of basic umbrellas, I decided to get something better for everyday use. So far this one has felt solid when the weather turns. The oval handle isn't quite as comfortable in my hand as a plain grip, but it hasn't put me off using it. I didn't want to drag a full length umbrella everywhere, and this is a good compromise. I'd recommend it.

Such a cheerful umbrella, I'm delighted with it!!
Such a cheerful umbrella, I'm delighted with it!! The pink is lovely and makes a change from all the gloomy umbrellas around me. A wet walk doesn't feel quite so miserable when I'm carrying something bright :)The button is my favourite part though. One press opens it, and another draws the canopy together, which is brilliant when I'm getting back into the car. Then I shorten the shaft by hand. Now that I've had that convenience I really don't fancy going back to wrestling with a completely manual umbrella.
Tom Mccann
The size suits me folded up and when open.
Like the look of it, even though it isn't exactly the same style as the umbrella I lost. The size suits me folded up and when open. My one reservation is the effort needed to push the shaft back in by hand after the button folds the canopy. It does lock properly, I just find that last push rather stiff. Hoping it'll feel easier as I use it more.

For what I spent I am very pleased with it.
Used this for shade while working the camera out in the sun all day. Gives decent shade and feels more solid than I expected from a folding umbrella. Got a little breeze and it handled that fine. Havent been out with it in rain so cant judge that part yet, though I think itll do alright. Had a couple bird droppings on it and when i cleaned them away the water formed beads and rolled off nicely. Cant compare with the really expensive umbrellas because i dont own any. For what I spent I am very pleased with it. Feels like it should hold up with sensible use. Would happily buy another, 10 out of 10

On that experience, I would be happy to recommend it.
I spent far too long comparing umbrellas before choosing this one on the strength of the reviews. It has turned out to be a good choice. Everything was neatly packed, and the handle and opening mechanism feel reassuringly solid. The overall appearance is simple and smart rather than fussy. My wife and I have shared it in a heavy shower and stayed dry standing close together. On that experience, I would be happy to recommend it.

Lovely pink colour and a nice solid umbrella.
Lovely pink colour and a nice solid umbrella. The material feels good and the little sleeve is useful for putting it away. My only reason for four stars is that my daughter finds the last bit of closing difficult. The button brings the canopy in fine, but pushing the shaft back down takes more strength than she has, so I help her with that. Worth bearing in mind for a child. Aside from that, we're pleased with it.

Such a fun thing for a rainy day.
Such a fun thing for a rainy day. I spotted one in a shop while travelling and left without buying it, then wished I hadn't. Finding it online made me smile, I seem to find everything that way. The button sends it straight open, not something to try inside the car...oops. Press again to fold the canopy, then compress the shaft for putting away. Love it.
Roy Andrews
An easy recommendation from me.
A splendid bumbershoot. I've had mine for about ten years, and it has put up with my clumsy handling (quite a test, honestly). There is GOOD room under it for me, not a narrow person, and my purse tucked beside me. It looks handsome folded as well as open. Friends admire it and a few have jokingly offered to take it home themselves! I keep an eye on them now. An easy recommendation from me.

Neat little umbrella
Neat little umbrella;the button is useful and it looks smart. But for someone my size,6'3" and about 260 lbs,the cover is only just enough.I can keep my head and shoulders dry,not much beyond that.It makes sense for ordinary showers and packing in a bag.I wouldn't choose it for a long walk in driving rain. It's handy, but I wanted a bit more room around me.
Tracy Stephens
The frame feels reassuring when a bit of wind catches it, too.
This has kept me dry while I've been carrying things, which is really what I wanted from an umbrella. Opened up, it covers my shoulders and what I'm holding without feeling like a huge thing to lug about. I can hold it at a sensible height and still see ahead of me, rather than having to peer around the edge. The frame feels reassuring when a bit of wind catches it, too. I used to think compact umbrellas looked a bit flimsy and weren't worth bothering with. Having actually used this one, I understand the appeal. Enough cover when I need it, then it folds down instead of being a long umbrella to carry everywhere.
Gerald Cantu
He's obviously delighted with it.
My youngest grandson had wanted his own umbrella for ages, so this was his fifth birthday present. I thought the folding size would be handy and the button looked simple to use. My daughter said he took it along everywhere the next day, even with SNOW on the ground! He's obviously delighted with it. Now we're hoping it stays in good shape for the spring rain when he can really try it!
Angel Melendez
Still feels sturdy and has dealt with my rainy days well.
Two of us can tuck under this when we need to, though it's especially comfortable on my own. I've used it for more than a year and just bought one for a friend. The opening and closing have been straightforward. Folded, it goes into a large handbag or backpack without much fuss. Still feels sturdy and has dealt with my rainy days well.

Just lovely -- GREAT CHOICE!
My granddaughter could hardly wait to open her package. Finding an umbrella of her own inside made her even happier! She's nine now and wants things that look a little more grown up, and this was exactly that sort of choice. The size works nicely for her and she loves how it looks. I am so glad I found it. An easy purchase and a delighted little girl at the end of it. Just lovely -- GREAT CHOICE!
Michael Conway
It's been a lovely present and she's quite proud of carrying it.
My niece is six and was thrilled to have her very own umbrella when I gave her this during the rainy season. At first I showed her the button and helped her fold it away, including pushing the stem down once the cover had shut. She picked it up quickly (and was eager to hop out of the car so she could try it herself!). After six months it still looks good, although she has only taken it out a few times. We use it for ordinary showers, rather than taking chances in rough weather. It's been a lovely present and she's quite proud of carrying it.
Christine Villegas
My son had been asking for his own umbrella.
My son had been asking for his own umbrella. Everything I saw locally felt flimsy, so I decided to try this one. It has more coverage than the little ones we looked at, and feels MUCH more substantial. He's delighted with it and I'm glad I took the chance. I would happily recommend it.

A smart umbrella that makes miserable weather a little easier to put up with! The plain black finish looks tidy, and the whole thing feels properly put together. I've had mine for nearly two years now and it still opens and works well. Not the cheapest choice, but after that much use I feel I've had my money's worth from it.

I'm so glad I went for this umbrella!
I'm so glad I went for this umbrella! I was tired of buying little umbrellas that never seemed worth keeping, and wanted something nicer. The beige looked pretty online and I like it even more in person. It has now had over six months of use and everything still works smoothly. A quick press gets it open, another folds the canopy, then I slide the shaft back in. Nothing fussy about it. The frame feels reassuringly solid and it has kept me dry every time. It's roomier than some portable umbrellas I've had, but still goes in my bag without much thought. I'd absolutely recommend it!

This has been a handy little umbrella to keep in my purse.
This has been a handy little umbrella to keep in my purse. I don't mind carrying it on day trips, and being able to make my own shade is lovely when there's nowhere shaded to sit.My one niggle is packing it away: the canopy closes with the button, but pushing the pole down needs both hands for me. That's hardly a big problem though. I'm glad I picked it up for summer. I have a larger sun umbrella as well, but this one is much more practical to take along.
Crystal Hudson
Feels solid and looks sweet.
Bought it for my daughter to take outside on sunny days. She and the other girls love walking round with their umbrellas like a little parade. After about six months of regular use it still looks in great shape. Feels solid and looks sweet. The older children manage the opening button easily, and I help the little one pack it down.
Parker Mann
I would recommend them yes.
I would recommend them yes. Bought two and first thought closing meant the whole thing would go down. The button brings in the canopy, then you push the shaft in by hand, so now I know. Easy after that was explained. There are four at home so another two are on my list. PD, happy with them, yes.
Gina Frederick
I'm very happy with mine!
Mine has had three years of use now and has done its share of work. All sorts of miserable rainy weather, and even the odd snowy outing, and it's still the one I reach for.Not bad! Easy button opening, another press gathers the canopy, then the shaft gets pushed back by hand. Stores away without needing much room but gives decent cover once it's up. I'm very happy with mine!
James Hunt
Matches the description well.
Matches the description well. My previous umbrella was larger and rather cumbersome, whereas this one feels steadier in the hand when open. The 105cm canopy is quite enough for me. For packing away, a button press closes the canopy and then the shaft needs pushing right down by hand until it locks.
David Dunn
A good one for us!
I like an umbrella that's cheerful (rain is dull enough), so the pink appealed to me, especially with my preschool-aged sons wanting to borrow it. The frame surprised me -- it feels quite substantial and has put up with everyday family use. The button saves some fiddling with little hands around. A good one for us!
Terrance Mercer
Still looks smart and works as well as when I first got it.
Mine lives in the car for surprise showers and slips into the door's map compartment. Press the button and up it goes (Yes, I still enjoy that bit!) It's been a couple of years and I haven't tired of it. Still looks smart and works as well as when I first got it.
Thomas Pacheco
I've become quite fond of using an umbrella for shade.
I've become quite fond of using an umbrella for shade. You see more people doing it now and I understand why. I tend to misplace these things, so I want something reasonably priced that still works properly. This one suits me. I'd buy another next summer, and it can handle rain as well.
Julian Bradley
Unfortunately the closing action isn't quite what I imagined.
Really pleased with the coverage and how it has handled the rain so far. There's room to squeeze another person under it, and when packed away it fits into my bag without a struggle.Unfortunately the closing action isn't quite what I imagined. One press sends it up, and another press folds the fabric part, but the centre pole still needs to be pushed down manually before it is ready again. So it is a two step job, with a fairly firm push for that last part. That effort is the reason for four stars instead of five, although it hasn't stopped me using it.***A word on closing while it's wet: hold it out from your body BEFORE pressing the button. I shut it directly above myself the first time and got some of the water it had been keeping off me! Much nicer to let that fall away from you than down your collar!
Johnathan Barrett
So far, so good.
I was hesitant after reading some of the comments, but ours has been in use for a few weeks now and still looks fine. We have been quite strict about how he treats it: no opening it indoors, no dragging it on the ground, and it is put away after the rain rather than used as a toy. So far, so good.
Amber Carey
Not inexpensive, but good quality.
This is my second umbrella like this and I've been pleased with them. Not inexpensive, but good quality. This one looked a bit smaller in person then I'd pictured, even though the size was there to read. That's on me for not thinking it through. I'm keeping it because it's useful when carrying the larger umbrella would be a bother.

Sent this through a charity scheme for a little girl who had an umbrella on her wish list. It looked like a nicely made choice, something useful that was still a lovely gift. I wasn't there when she opened it, but I hope it made her smile and added a little Christmas magic
Adrienne Coffey
She's happy to have it again...
I got my wife another for Christmas after she lost the one I'd given her a couple years earlier. She loved that umbrella, so no guessing needed for her replacement. Sturdy, dependable and a classy looking beige. The canopy gives good cover for her hair and clothes, and she's had quite a few compliments on its appearance. Much nicer than a basic umbrella, and easy enough to take along. She's happy to have it again...
Matthew Rios
Definitely one I'd recommend!
This has been my regular umbrella for years, and I've given a few as gifts too. I've even recommended it on my blog. The frame feels strong and having a button to open it or collapse the canopy is a real help when my hands are full. Folded, it's about 40cm, so not a tiny pocket umbrella, but the coverage is worth that bit of space. Definitely one I'd recommend!

The beige canopy with the black underneath looks lovely.
The beige canopy with the black underneath looks lovely. From the pictures I expected something that would disappear into my handbag, but folded up this is still longer than I had in mind. It opens easily with the button and gives decent coverage, so there isn't anything wrong with how it works. I wanted one I could leave in my purse rather than carry separately, and for that purpose it isn't quite right. I'll be returning it.

Handy shade for one person, and light enough to take along in my bag.
Handy shade for one person, and light enough to take along in my bag. I have a much larger umbrella as well, which I prefer when I'm watching the grandchildren at soccer. For carrying about this one wins, but if you're sitting in the sunshine for ages I'd still go with something bigger.
Gina Schroeder
GREAT value for a whole set.
The umbrellas were a very good choice for our dance recital. It took some searching to find ones with a shape that suited the routine. GREAT value for a whole set. Having a button to open them made getting everyone in time so much easier! The blue looks nice on stage and the opening action feels firm and secure. They were packed carefully too, so everything was in good shape when it arrived.

LOVE having this umbrella.
LOVE having this umbrella. Is such a pretty cream white and it feels properly made, not just something nice to look at. Really worth having.Update to what I wrote before. Still enjoying mine, but I wanted to clear up the way I described the handle because I don't want anyone expecting a cane handle. Mine has the closed oval loop, and it folds up into a compact umbrella. It isn't one of those long umbrellas with a curved end. I think I made it sound more old fashioned than it is in my first comments. The light canopy is what caught my eye, with black underneath, and that's still my favourite part of the look. So yes I recommend the one I have, just wanted to be clear about which sort of umbrella I'm talking about. Not a frilly parasol either :)

Before taking it anywhere I put my address on the handle.
Opened out, this umbrella gives me enough room to keep both myself and my tote bag dry. Before taking it anywhere I put my address on the handle. This makes four umbrellas in two years; the other three wandered off with nothing to identify their owner. Perhaps whoever found them is at least making use of them.
The green fabric is cheerful to look at, and seems more substantial than the material on my previous umbrellas. It is quite nice to have something that looks pleasant on an otherwise dreary day.
There is a button to spring it open and gather the canopy closed again. I am usually a little wary of umbrellas opening suddenly, but this is straightforward enough when I leave room around it. Inside a car or a lift would not be the place to test it. The stem still needs pressing down by hand afterwards.
For the money, I'm satisfied and would recommend it. Looking nice is an extra rather than the main requirement. It came with a sleeve, which I promptly discarded. Once an umbrella has been out in the rain, I never seem to have the patience to squeeze it back into its little covering. Why give myself another task?
Veronica Moss
I am satisfied with the umbrella.
I am satisfied with the umbrella.
The shaft and the ribs do not feel too heavy, and there is a firm feeling when holding it.
It opens from pressing the button, the cover spreads out for using in rain or for shade. Give it space to open, this part needs attention. (People familiar with folding umbrellas will understand~~)
For my own use, I can recommend this one.
I intend to keep it carefully and use it often.

This is a good balance.
I've had this umbrella for six months and it has been an excellent everyday buy. I usually have two or three bags with me, so I needed something small enough to pack but not so tiny when open that everything gets wet. This is a good balance. It has a bit of weight, which I don't mind because it feels solid rather than flimsy. The handle is easy for me to grip while juggling the bags and the button is a real help when my hands are full. One press to open it, another to bring the canopy down, then I shorten the pole myself. It has coped with the rain I've been out in and still looks very good after six months. I've wasted enough on umbrellas that didn't last, so I am glad this one is working out so well.

I used to carry a golf umbrella.
Living in Atlanta has made me appreciate a little portable shade. It isn't the hottest place around, obviously, but some days the sunshine just wears you down.About ten years back I visited Thailand. November, of all times, and temperatures were up in the nineties. Ever tried walking around in that ? You notice pretty quickly how the people who live there deal with it.
What struck me was how common umbrellas were in the sunshine. Not enormous things either, mostly little ones that looked easy to take along. I came home with a different attitude about using one for shade, and since then it has been part of going out for any length of time.
I used to carry a golf umbrella. Fine for shade, rather less fine when you're finished with it and have this big thing to lug around. The Haven is much handier for me. I can get comfortable shade over my head and shoulders, then fold it away when I don't need it.
Yesterday I walked over to a neighborhood gathering at the pool with it. Several women wanted to know about the umbrella, the price, where I'd found it, that sort of thing.Apparently it attracts some interest.
And yes, I'm a man. I've had a little teasing from men about carrying an umbrella in sunshine. My answer is that I'm comfortable enough with myself to choose comfort over looking tough. Usually not much discussion after that.
Anyway, I'd recommend trying it. Sunny days are a lot more agreeable when you can take your shade along.

A fine umbrella - won as a game prize.
A fine umbrella - won as a game prize.
It reached me in about twelve days.
The material is good, and it opens by button, then another press gathers the canopy. The stem is pushed down manually.
The ribs feel firm but flexible.
Now I only need to learn to wrap it tidily, mine never looks as neat after use.
Happy to recommend!
