It's cute, keeps her dry and doesn't feel flimsy in her hand.
Gave this to someone living in the city and she keeps saying how useful it is. It's cute, keeps her dry and doesn't feel flimsy in her hand. I had wondered about that after reading a few comments, but she says there's nothing flimsy about hers and she's as happy with it as the umbrellas she's had before.
Rachel Khan
I'd happily recommend it.
The big umbrella lives in my truck, but I wanted something less awkward for the car. The button closing the canopy was the main attraction for me, especially getting in when it's raining hard. This folds down to a useful size and fits in the door compartment without fighting for space.Still gives me decent cover when it's up, which was what I worried about with a smaller umbrella. Feels sturdy too.I'd happily recommend it.

Very worthwhile for shade.
Very worthwhile for shade. At the beach I can keep it in my hand rather than lugging a giant sun umbrella around. It opens wide enough for me, then folds back into something I can actually carry. A 'survival' umbrella? Probably not building a tent with this one! Still, if there was a shipwreck, I would be the person checking I had my umbrella before climbing into the lifeboat...
Ellen Richardson
I've been very impressed with how useful this one has been.
I've used this umbrella for walks to work and for taking the dogs out whenever it's wet. It gets used a lot rather than sitting by the door for months.I've been caught in rain with some wind behind it, and it's kept its shape and given me good cover. It isn't one of those enormous golf umbrellas, but for something I can fold up it covers me surprisingly well! Tonight the dogs needed their walk despite the rain, so out it came again. I kept the canopy facing the rain as we went and didn't have to wrestle with it. When we got back, the bottoms of my trousers were wet but my coat and shoulders were dry. That's what I want from an umbrella. I've been very impressed with how useful this one has been.

For the use I'm getting, it's been money well spent.
My morning walk to work in Chicago takes half an hour, and an umbrella gets a proper workout here. This one has been really dependable on wet, blustery mornings and has kept me dry without feeling hard to manage. For the use I'm getting, it's been money well spent.

Pretty enough to go with my EGL clothes & useful for summer shade too.
Pretty enough to go with my EGL clothes & useful for summer shade too. Being able to fold it down is a definite advantage. The Blue looks beautiful against the black underneath & the whole thing feels nicely put together. I've paid more for parasols I liked much less.

I'm small, so this size works for me.
Umbrellas usually annoy me because a bit of wind turns them into a mess. This one's been a nice surprise. Looks rather delicate, but it's still doing fine. Easy enough to carry and I like having the sleeve. I'm small, so this size works for me. I still think good wind handling ought to be standard.
Katelyn Gregory
Nice umbrella, with a little care in use.
Four stars from me, mainly for the attractive design. It looks really nice, and I've been happy using it in normal rain. I'm less certain about how much rough handling it would take. There's some flex in the frame, which may be perfectly sensible, but it doesn't give me that heavy-duty feeling. I still find myself being careful as I open it and put it away. Nothing has actually gone wrong; I just wouldn't treat it like something indestructible. Nice umbrella, with a little care in use.
Alicia Bolton
My son loves using this umbrella.
My son loves using this umbrella. It isn't a tiny children's one, but he likes having proper coverage over his shoulders. He enjoys the button for opening and folding the canopy, then I help press the stem down afterwards. The sleeve is handy for putting it away after drying. It feels sturdy and has been great for our school mornings. Very happy!

A dependable umbrella is worth paying for.
This has lived up to what I hoped for ,and I'm glad I ordered it. My sister has had a few over the years ,and I've carried them over to Germany for her. They ought to be easier to find over there and in France and the U.K., lol. A dependable umbrella is worth paying for. I can see why she's kept going back for them.
Vanessa Murray
My son thinks that is great!
The handle is a closed oval loop, not the open hook shape I usually expect on an umbrella. My son thinks that is great! We have tried several umbrellas before and some felt rather flimsy, so this one makes a better first impression. I am hoping it lasts well. It still needs treating like an umbrella rather than something to play rough with. There is a good amount of cover when it is open, though I would call it a one person umbrella rather than something for two. Opening it is straightforward with the button, and the same button brings the canopy down. To put it away completely you still have to press the telescoping section together by hand. I prefer that button to having to reach up and fiddle with a metal catch. The black fabric looks neat and the seams look even. I haven't had it long enough to say anything about years of use, but the first look and feel is much better than I expected.

Small when close and fits my student backpack fine, opens out to about 105cm so another person can tuck beside meThe fabric feels good, frame seems strong and not too heavy, much nicer than some I've used beforeButton opening and canopy closing is very handy, plenty of cover overall - good for wet days in New York

For the weight, the size you get when it opens is excellent.
For the weight, the size you get when it opens is excellent. Pink wouldn't usually be my choice, especially away from a golf course. I don't really see myself as a pink umbrella person. That said, it is just a color, and the practical side has won me over. I would choose something quieter if appearance were everything, but for coverage and carrying it around, it is excellent.
Clifford Roach
I'd certainly recommend it.
I spent ages comparing umbrellas for my 2-year-old daughter. So many cute ones seemed more like toys than something that would last. I went with this one because I liked the simple look, and the quality has been a nice surprise. The button makes it easy to put up when we're heading out, and she loves being allowed to carry it. I do the pushing down of the shaft when we pack it away. It's held up well to her playing with it so far. I'd certainly recommend it.

Makes going out in the rain much less of a chore!
I live in San Francisco and commute around the city, which means plenty of wind and rain. The cheapo department store umbrellas I used to buy would tear after three or four outings. This one has handled both without giving me that trouble. A quick shake gets the water off before I head indoors, too. I'm seriously tempted to get a few more for the house / office / friends and family. Makes going out in the rain much less of a chore!

Adding my five stars after several months of carrying this through…
Adding my five stars after several months of carrying this through wet, windy weather in the northeast. It has been reliably straightforward to use, which matters more to me than anything fancy. Last night's walk was particularly rainy and blustery, and the canopy held its shape while I kept it facing into the weather. The coverage is generous without making it awkward to manage with one hand. Coming home, I saw discarded umbrellas along the streets and was glad this one was still doing its job. I don't spend much time thinking about an umbrella when it works, and that's really the point. This has become the one I take out rather than leaving behind just in case it might rain.
Brooke Day
These have been a good choice.
These have been a good choice. I'd used a folding umbrella for ~5 years, often enough to know what I wanted when it was time for another. Ordered a pair so there's one in my car and one in my wife's car.Nice amount of cover when open, without having a long umbrella lying across the seats. It's comfortable for me on my own, and two can tuck under it for a short walk if they don't mind staying close. The green is bright and cheerful, too, and people have said nice things about it. Very happy with both of them.
Dana Briggs
I was after a sturdy umbrella to keep in my golf bag.
I was after a sturdy umbrella to keep in my golf bag. Some of the big ones I looked at were priced way above what I wanted to spend .... found this instead ... decent cover for just me and much less awkward to pack away !!! Excellent buy -- I would happily recommend it !
Terrance Gregory
Happy to recommend it for rain as well.
Wanted some shade for walking the golf course and this does nicely. It looks good too. Happy to recommend it for rain as well. There was some confusion getting the parcel to the right address, but I did receive it in the end and the umbrella itself is great. Worth the wait!!
Thomas Abbott
Couldn't be more pleased with this umbrella!
Couldn't be more pleased with this umbrella! The pink is gorgeous and it packs up small enough to bring along easily. Having a button to open it and collapse the canopy makes such a difference with shopping bags in hand.I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!!!!! :)
Spencer Andersen
HOWEVER it's nicely made and has proved useful.
Didn't pay enough attention to the description, so the open canopy surprised me by being larger than I expected. HOWEVER it's nicely made and has proved useful. Walking the dog in rain is easier with this much cover, and if the dog stays close beside me there's a little shelter to share too.
Steven Crosby
Absolutely love this thing!
Absolutely love this thing! Loads of cover from something that folds up so neatly. I expected less umbrella when I first saw it shut. The button is brilliant for getting into the car, just collapse the canopy instead of wrestling with it in the rain. Then I shorten the stem manually once I'm inside. Feels really well put together too.Great value for what you get, I'd call the build an A+.
Keith Esparza
At around 390g it also has more weight than I expected.
This umbrella does the basic job, but I would look carefully at the dimensions before calling it particularly compact. It is roughly 105cm across when open, which is adequate for one person, and about 40cm long once folded. That is not something I can tuck into a small bag. At around 390g it also has more weight than I expected. The automatic closing applies to the canopy only; you still have to shorten the shaft manually before putting it away. That works as intended, but it is worth knowing if you expect the whole thing to retract. The ribs seem flexible and the canopy has kept me dry. Reasonable overall, although the size and weight make it less convenient for me.
Joan Aguirre
Now, when open there is a decent amount of coverage.
After several wet, breezy days in Chicago I can say this has done well for me. No inside out canopy or awkward catches when I want it open. The opening is smooth, and closing the canopy with the button is handy; you still push the shaft down yourself to finish packing it away. It makes a manageable package to carry, though not the tiniest folding umbrella. Now, when open there is a decent amount of coverage. I'm about 6'1" and usually have a backpack, and it has kept both me and the bag reasonably dry. Someone wanting the absolute smallest umbrella might prefer less bulk. I bought two, one for me and one for my brother. If either gets lost, I'd buy the same again.
Vicki Roman
I'd definitely recommend it.
There's a big umbrella in my truck which I love, but I wanted something less bulky for the car. Collapsing the canopy with a button is handy when it's raing hard and I'm getting in.This fits along my car's door pocket and doesn't take it over, yet it's a VERY useful size when opened. It also seems sturdy, rather than one of those flimsy little things. I'd definitely recommend it.
Briana Hunt
Handle is a bit small for my hand.
Pros:1. Packs down neatly and fits in my usual bag.2. Good coverage for one adult, or my wife holding the baby. Wouldn't expect all three of us to stay completely dry together.3. Keeps the rain off without feeling soggy overhead, useful in our very rainy climate.4. Button operation makes getting through a doorway or into the car much less of a struggle.5. The carry sleeve is handy for putting it away.6. Six months of regular use and the opening mechanism is still working just as it did at the start. No fiddling needed before heading out.
Cons;1. Handle is a bit small for my hand. When gripping it firmly my thumb ends up close to the button, so I need to pay attention to that.
Noah Mayo
Button opening and canopy closing are straightforward.
I haven't had it out in really rough weather yet, but it gives a good impression of strength. The material feels substantial and there are plenty of flexible ribs underneath. Button opening and canopy closing are straightforward. It folds down, though it still takes a bit of room in a golf bag, so don't expect one of those tiny pocket umbrellas
Kent Bird
Looks as nice as the picture and feels pretty sturdy.
At two, my daughter already LOVES having her own umbrella. Looks as nice as the picture and feels pretty sturdy. There's lots of room under it for her, so I give her a hand holding it. I think she'll be using it for quite a while. Would happily recommend it to other parents.
Javier Little
It's reasonably priced and the button action is very good.
I've been happy enough with this umbrella that I haven't felt the need to look for another. It's reasonably priced and the button action is very good. Opening it is quick, and collapsing the canopy without pulling at wet fabric is something I appreciate every time. You still press the telescoping pole down yourself to finish packing it away, which isn't difficult. I use an umbrella regularly, so those little conveniences matter more to me than having the fanciest one available. There are heavier and more expensive options, of course, but this feels like a sensible balance of quality and cost. For everyday rain, I'm quite content to stick with it.

There isn't much I would change about this umbrella.
There isn't much I would change about this umbrella. Small folding umbrellas have usually left me wishing I had carried a bigger one, mostly because keeping my head dry isn't quite the same as keeping me dry. This one gives a useful amount of cover without feeling awkwardly top heavy. The weight seems well distributed, the canopy holds its shape in ordinary rain, and my favorite detail is actually the oval loop handle. Not something I thought would make much difference until I held it.
I find the loop comfortable, partly because I can change my grip rather than keep my fingers clamped around one little straight handle. It is a closed oval, not the curved hook you get on a traditional umbrella. That distinction matters if you have a particular way you like to carry one. I wouldn't claim the shape will suit every hand, but it suits mine. Comfort is one of those things that sounds unimportant until you have been holding an umbrella for a while.
I still understand the attraction of a larger, full-length umbrella. A wider canopy would give more room around the edges, but then I would be carrying the extra length even when it wasn't raining. I keep going back and forth on that, because I do like generous coverage. For me this is a better compromise. Folded up it is manageable, opened out it doesn't feel like a tiny emergency umbrella. Maybe that is the part I appreciate most overall, rather than any single feature.
My reservation is simply that compact doesn't mean unlimited coverage. You still have to pay attention to how you hold it when rain comes from the side. And a gust can tug at any umbrella; flexible ribs don't remove the pull on your arm. I wouldn't choose it on the assumption that it makes wind irrelevant.
The automatic action is convenient. A press releases the canopy, and another press collapses it. You then compress the telescoping shaft manually before putting it away. That last step is normal, although worth understanding if you expect the entire umbrella to retract at the touch of a button. I prefer having the quick canopy action and doing that final bit myself.
Still five stars from me. There are tradeoffs with any size and handle style, and these happen to be tradeoffs I am comfortable with. For ordinary use, I like carrying it and I like using it, which is really the point.
Wayne Zhang
The canopy closes at a button press
Not taken it out in wet or windy weather yet, though the build looks decent. Calling it "automatic" could use a little explaining if you expect the whole thing to shrink itself. The canopy closes at a button press; you still compress the telescoping part yourself.
Kristy Huynh
It's a good umbrella, provided you remember what it's for.
It's a good umbrella, provided you remember what it's for. After a couple of beers I did consider its potential as pole-vaulting equipment, before deciding I rather liked staying dry instead. Slightly weighty to lug around. To conclude: good-looking, works well, and probably best kept away from my more inspired sporting ideas.
Justin Sanchez
Hopefully it will stay in good condition for a long time.
On first seeing the umbrella, I thought it was quite small compared with the photos, and the weight was less than I had expected too, which surprised me. Once opened though, the coverage was a good size for a grown man. There has been no rain since I got it so I have not tried it out, and I cannot say yet how durable the fabric will be. Hopefully it will stay in good condition for a long time. The handle feels comfortable to hold so using it is simple, and compared with what umbrellas cost in Korea, I think the price was fairly reasonable.
Amber Humphrey
Arrived promptly.
Arrived promptly. Looks as described, with 30 flexible ribs supporting the canopy, so i expect it to cope with normal blustery days. The oval handle is slightly snug for my hand, but i like the loop shape and the button operation. Opens up smartly and folds the canopy down again. Just waiting for some proper rain before i can say more about using it.

Not quite what I was used to, but in a good way.
Not quite what I was used to, but in a good way. Opened out, it is bigger than I pictured, although carrying it hasn't been a problem. The loop handle is comfortable and gives me a decent grip. I needed a couple of tries to get used to the button. It brings the canopy down as well as putting it up, then you shorten the shaft yourself. That makes sense once you've done it. There is enough fabric over my shoulders and upper arms that I don't end up with wet sleeves immediately. I'm fairly short, so that matters to me. I can hold it high enough to see ahead without losing that protection. It has stayed manageable on the breezier rainy days I've tried it in, too. :)The fabric seems substantial, and so far it has dried out nicely between uses.Nothing fancy to do with it, just let it dry before packing away. It's a nice looking umbrella as well as a useful one, which is what I hoped for. Took a little adjustment, but I like it more each time I use it. I've even had a couple of people ask about it.
Rachael Romero
a handy little umbrella...
hello,my old little pop up umbrella finally gave up after 8 years. this looks much the same sort of build so i'm hoping for another good long run. one press and it opens...nice...keeps the rain off just as it should. i don't use a compact one for long walks in a downpour. we've got much bigger golf umbrellas for that. this is the one for nipping to the mailbox or letting the dog out for a few minutes. feels solid enough for those jobs and the plain black suits me fine. easy to keep by the door so i know where it is. yrmv...a handy little umbrella...happy with it.

After about six months of use, I'm still happy with this umbrella.
After about six months of use, I'm still happy with this umbrella. It has dealt with rainy days and windy spells well, and opening it is quick and straightforward. The construction feels dependable rather than flimsy. Judging by how it has held up, I expect to get plenty more use from it.
Alicia White
For what I paid I wanted something easier to tuck away.
As a yard duty monitor I spend a fair bit of time standing outside, and this has been useful for shade as well as rain. I just find it a little weighty to hold through a whole duty and the folded size takes up more room than I hoped. For what I paid I wanted something easier to tuck away. It works fine, so I'm keeping it, but the convenience isn't quite there for me.
Suzanne Blackburn
A long golf umbrella just won't fit with everything else I take.
Most of my travel involves recruiting and golf tournaments, so an umbrella has to earn its space in the suitcase. A long golf umbrella just won't fit with everything else I take. This folds down to a manageable size but still gives me decent cover once I'm outside. It has felt steady in the breezes I've used it in.I'd certainly suggest it for someone who travels like I do.

Everything about the umbrella suits me apart from the shade of blue.
Everything about the umbrella suits me apart from the shade of blue. I pictured a brighter blue and this looks more muted to my eye. (Not quite what I had in mind) The construction is good and the button action is smooth. It's only the colour that disappointed me. I'll keep it rather than bother with sending it back.
Alan Beasley
It kept its shape when the weather got gusty too.
Nothing else I've owned has pleased me this much ,stood through long rainy lacrosse games this spring and i stayed dry .It kept its shape when the weather got gusty too.People making a fuss over that new umbrella smell ,honestly its not something you're eating.I noticed it when I first unpacked it ,didnt bother me and wasn't noticeable outside anyway. For standing around watching a game this has been a really good buy ,would happily choose it again ,a full five from me !!!!!

My favourite umbrella so far.
Lost the one I'd been using for a year, so I replaced it with another. My favourite umbrella so far. Strong construction. Nice appearance. A press gathers the canopy before I step indoors, rather than wrestling with it in the rain. The pole needs shortening manually afterwards. Very handy. Not huge, but a good amount of cover from something that folds.
Nathan Anthony
It's a good size , fits in my girlfriend's larger handbag.
I got this as a gift and had pictured one of those really large umbrellas, so the short folded size surprised me. Feels rather light at first but the button gives it a quick opening and there's a decent amount of cover. The green ( which was what caught my eye looks really nice in person. Simple but cheerful. It's a good size , fits in my girlfriend's larger handbag. She loves it. Also has a closely fitting sleeve to put it in when it's folded.

I liked the idea of the oval loop handle, but the shape doesn't…
I liked the idea of the oval loop handle, but the shape doesn't really suit my grip and gets uncomfortable if I hold it for too long. I keep shifting it around rather than finding one comfortable position. The button works nicely and it keeps me dry, so I'm generally happy with the rest.
Shelia Blake
it doesn't pull the entire umbrella down into the handle.
The one I have is blue, and the first impression is that it has been put together well. I've only been using it a short time, so can't say much about how long it will last. My previous everyday umbrella lasted over ten years and I would be pleased to get anywhere near that from this one.
Folded length is about 40cm, which is worth checking rather than just going by the word compact. The handle is a closed oval carabiner loop, not the open hook I was expecting from a quick look. It works, but I still prefer a more traditional handle, so that accounts for the missing star. There is a sleeve included, although I seldom bother with those.
The button does both opening and closing of the canopy. You still compress the telescoping stem manually afterwards; it doesn't pull the entire umbrella down into the handle.
**EDIT**After carrying it around all weekend, the weight is more noticeable than I first thought. Around 390g isn't terrible, but it isn't the lightest thing in my bag either. Still a decent umbrella, just worth knowing what compact means here.

A good choice for my daily walk and one I'd recommend!
Bought this for the mile-and-a-quarter walk between home and the bus stop on the northern California coast. It has given me good cover on the wet days here and feels secure to hold. My small complaint is that the open canopy can still catch on overgrown bushes along the narrow parts of the pavement. More a gardening issue than an umbrella problem, really. The oval loop handle sits nicely in my hand, without needing to grip it in an awkward position. I can keep my arm relaxed, and the button opening is handy when I set off. Once I'm on the bus it folds into something much more manageable than a long umbrella. A good choice for my daily walk and one I'd recommend!
Carlos Oconnell
Quite a solid feeling umbrella now I have it here.
Quite a solid feeling umbrella now I have it here. No trouble using the button. We are still waiting for some proper bad weather to see how it goes.It has some weight to it and I 'am doubtful it will sit comfortably in my briefcase. So at present am pleased, just hoping it proves itself outdoors. My husband will probably find the size more suitable than I do as I wanted something a bit smaller.

I used to think an umbrella was hardly worth the trouble.
I used to think an umbrella was hardly worth the trouble. Years at sea, plus growing up in south Florida, had pretty much convinced me that getting soaked was just something you put up with. Most little folding umbrellas I'd used didn't do much to change that opinion. So I wasn't expecting a revelation here.Well, I stand corrected! I had a chance to try it in a sudden downpour this morning and was very pleased to be the dry one for a change. It feels substantial in the hand, without being some enormous golf umbrella to lug around. The canopy has a decent spread overhead and the flexible ribs give it a more reassuring feel than the flimsy ones I remember. The closed loop handle also gives me something positive to hold onto.A press gets it up quickly. Another press draws the canopy shut, then the shaft needs pushing back down by hand. Straightforward once you know the sequence. And the sleeve actually goes on without a wrestling match, which sounds trivial until you've fought with one that doesn't. For rain or a bit of shade, this has earned its place.

Picked this up for some shade at summer music festivals.
Picked this up for some shade at summer music festivals. It's adorable and inexpensive enough that I won't spend the whole time worrying about it. I'm not expecting the fanciest umbrella at this price but for what I need it's just right, and the look is so cute!
