Walking around the city, I see umbrellas that barely cover a head and others that seem to require their own lane on the pavement. Neither appeals to me. I'm tall, so I need some proper coverage, but I also don't want to be that person making everybody step aside. This lands in a sensible place between those two. Looks tidy enough to carry into a meeting, too, rather than looking like I've brought sports equipment to work. The mechanism is quick and the whole thing feels well put together. I've had it about a year now and it still opens as it should. Rain hasn't been a problem, and it's handled the breezy days I've used it on. Nothing to grumble about.

Glad I went with it.
Had this about a week and the weekend rain gave it a proper first try. It looks smart and feels substantial, not flimsy at all. Folded, it takes up a little more space than I had pictured, but I can live with that. The part that sold me was using it across the parking lot---a gust caught someone else's umbrella and flipped it back, while I could just keep walking with mine. Came through that first wet weekend without any trouble and kept me dry, which is what matters. Glad I went with it.

definitely recommend!
A simple, unfussy look is what I wanted, with a bit more substance than the flimsy umbrellas I've owned. This has that feel. The frame seems nicely put together and I like the oval handle. For what I paid it feels like good value, and I'd happily choose it again. There was rather more packaging than seemed necessary & that struck me as wasteful, but the actual umbrella is a keeper; definitely recommend!

A seriously useful umbrella.
A seriously useful umbrella. Plenty of cover for me, solid feeling, and it folds down to something I can actually take along. I've carried it under my coat on my belt on wet evenings, which is much nicer than holding it all night. This will be my third: I left the first in a cab and gave the next one away. Rainy season is not the time to be without one. The button closing is my favourite part. One press gathers the canopy, then I shorten the pole manually so it's ready again. No wrestling with a wet canopy at a doorway. The oval carabiner handle lets me attach it directly to my belt and keep my hands free until the rain starts. Very handy thing to have.

The beige is much nicer in person
The beige is much nicer in person; the listing photos make it look rather plain. It also seems properly made. I've used it in wind and rain and it didn't get blown inside out, although a few umbrellas near me did. So far I'm really pleased with this one and will come back to the review if that changes. I've added my own photo too, as it gives a better idea of the colour.

Excellent umbrella for what it costs.
Excellent umbrella for what it costs. Really pleased with it. I can hold the canopy down close over my head and theres still room underneath, which I like when the rain is coming down. Material seems good and the price was fair. I'd happily buy another and tell anyone wanting a decent umbrella to try it!

It sits neatly on my laptop bag and doesn't add much bulk.
It sits neatly on my laptop bag and doesn't add much bulk. A few outings in and the opening and closing have both been easy. No really windy weather to test it in yet, though it feels more substantial than the cheap folding ones I've picked up on the street. I got a second one for my wife and she's every bit as happy with hers.
Molly Greer
This comes second to another umbrella I own.
This comes second to another umbrella I own.(That one's still my favourite, but I like the black on this.) it opens easily with the button, and a second press brings the canopy down. Very nice looking. Haven't actually used it in rain or wind yet, only as shade, so I can't say much about that. I wanted something compact and it gives plenty of coverage for a small adult like me. Five stars for ease of use.

People have said nice things about this one and it makes me smile.
At my age I nearly talked myself out of buying an umbrella just because I thought it looked nice. Then I thought, why should we stop enjoying pretty things when we're older. As little girls we like choosing something special and somehow later everything gets so sensible and dull. Nothing wrong with a little indulgence. People have said nice things about this one and it makes me smile.

This went to my granddaughter as a present.
This went to my granddaughter as a present. She'd loved her previous umbrella for nearly five years and wanted another, so I sent her the black one. She tells me people keep saying how nice it looks. Being able to open it and collapse the canopy with one button is wonderful.

Thanks for a useful umbrella!
A friend bought me this after I had admired the umbrella he was using on a breezy evening out. I didn't think my comment would stick, given we'd been out that night, but about a week later he handed me one in green. A nice surprise, and something I've actually been using rather than leaving in a drawer. How it works: A couple of months on, it feels like a good solid umbrella. I've had cheap ones turn inside out with hardly any encouragement, whereas this one has coped well with the windy patches I've walked through. It folds down small enough that carrying it isn't a nuisance. The button is useful when going in and out of buildings; a quick press to open it, and another to bring the canopy down, so i'm not standing there wrestling with it in everyone's way. You still push the telescoping bit down yourself afterwards.Cost: No, it isn't the cheapest option sitting by a shop counter. For something that feels sturdy and is this convenient to use though, I think the extra money is reasonable.Final verdict: I've now bought a couple for family as well, which probably tells you more than another paragraph from me would. Thanks for a useful umbrella!

I recieved this a couple of days back.
I recieved this a couple of days back. It was for my wife, who gets fed up with flimsy umbrellas and awkward closing. She is delighted with this one. Having a button to open it and fold the canopy is a big plus, and she loves how it looks. Two small points though. After pressing close she still has to push the shaft back down by hand, which needs a bit of effort. Then there's the weight. It isn't ridiculously heavy, but she notices it more than her old one. Neither thing has put her off. Overall it looks lovely and feels properly strong, so it has gone down very well.

Unfortunately I'm good at leaving them places.
Living in New York, I used to rely on cheap umbrellas, on the theory that I'd probably lose the next one anyway. Unfortunately I'm good at leaving them places. The cheap ones can be awkward to open and close, and I don't enjoy fighting with catches on a wet pavement. This one is much easier, press to open and press again to gather in the canopy. It costs more than a street umbrella but seems worth spending a bit more on. Losing it is still the biggest worry, or somebody taking mine by mistake. I haven't tried every model around, I just know I'd choose this one again.

The quality of this umbrella has really impressed me!
The quality of this umbrella has really impressed me! It's the one I keep reaching for now.So pleased!!!!! My older teens and college kids have taken to it as well. They like being able to put it in their bags, and it looks smart enough for work too. Definitely getting plenty of use in this family.

Such a nice umbrella.
Makes me feel like I ought to be strolling through London! Such a nice umbrella. Its solid feeling and actually covers my back as well as my head (nothing worse than discovering your back is soaked!). Only had a couple of outings with it so far, so can't judge long term, but the button feels positive rather than flimsy. Picked green and it looks rather smart when the sky turns grey.
Eric Barnett
Actually feels quite solid once it's up.
I wanted a small umbrella to leave in my backpack for unexpected showers. This folds down nicely, and I was half expecting something a bit flimsy when I opened it. Actually feels quite solid once it's up. Not planning to go storm chasing with it though. Only joking!

Just don't think I'm converted to compact umbrellas permanently
I managed to lose or ruin three big golf umbrellas in one fall (not my best semester), so my husband replaced them with this. I do like the way it looks, but I'm just accustomed to having a lot more umbrella over me. The little loop handle gives me something secure to hold while I sort out bus fare, instead of balancing a huge wet umbrella against my clothes. That part is an improvement. For carrying around it's much easier than the big ones, and I will keep using it. Just don't think I'm converted to compact umbrellas permanently; when this one is eventually gone I will probably choose a larger one again.

The ribs feel substantial and it coped nicely with blustery rain.
Smart enough for the commute and doesn't take over my work bag. The ribs feel substantial and it coped nicely with blustery rain. Gray works with nearly all my suits, which matters to me more than it probably should (yes, I consider these things when buying umbrellas). The button is convenient too, and I was really pleased with how dry it kept me. Unfortunately I left it behind during a summer train journey, so that was the end of that...
Lorraine Church
I would certainly recommend it.
I picked the gray umbrella for my wife for mothers day and she was delighted. she has had skin cancer so avoiding the sun is important, she uses sunscreen and this gives her some shade as well. It arrived in nice condition and a bit ahead of when we expected it. she thinks it looks lovely and I'm happy with the choice. I would certainly recommend it.
Judith Macdonald
Folded up it goes in my tote bag.
Works as it should, though I have to be fairly deliberate pressing the opening button. Folded up it goes in my tote bag.Green looks nice in person, a little different depending on the light but still the colour I wanted. Not a problem for me. Just worth checking the folded length against your bag, because compact doesn't mean one of those tiny umbrellas you can tuck in any corner.
Arthur Davies
It gives me decent coverage too.
Living in Chicago, I've got through more umbrellas than I care to count. This one has felt more dependable on windy walks so far. It gives me decent coverage too. My one gripe is the folded length; compact doesn't mean pocket sized, and it takes up a bit more room than I'd like when the rain stops.
Denise Burnett
I'm reviewing the compact folding model.
I'm reviewing the compact folding model. It measures around 40cm packed away and weighs roughly 390g, so not one of those tiny pocket ones. There are 30 ribs and they have some give to them rather than feeling completely rigid. The button opens it without any fuss. I like mine a lot, particularly the amount of cover you get from something that folds down

For a child who likes to have their own proper umbrella this is a nice choice. The quality seems about what I'd expect in a regular shop, with a neat simple look rather than anything fussy. My daughter is almost 3 and enjoys pressing the button with me helping. I do the packing away, but she considers it hers and is very happy carrying it.
Cathy Christian
An umbrella shouldn't block your whole view when you're walking.
An umbrella shouldn't block your whole view when you're walking. This one is comfortable to hold where I can see past the edge. First rainy day with it, 3 girls at work wanted to know about it... ended up getting one for each of them for Christmas. Nice to have something practical that people actually want to use. Love mine!
Bailey Austin
Keeps me nicely dry.
Keeps me nicely dry. Opening or collapsing the canopy with a press is handy for getting through doorways. I push the stem in afterwards. Folded, it goes in a backpack or large bag. Once it's up there's enough cover for me, or two people if we stand close together.
Nina Hinton
He was delighted!!
This was for my brother (a medieval history student who likes unusual looking things)so i checked it over first, didnt want it feeling toooo gimmicky.I was surprised by how solid the construction feels, and the oval handle really stands out in a good way.He was delighted!! Now i think I might need one myself because its quite a cool looking umbrella
Sheena Blackburn
In green it looks even nicer opened up than it does folded away.
In green it looks even nicer opened up than it does folded away. The closed oval handle gives it a slightly different look too; I wasn't buying it for that, but I do like it. There is nothing cheap looking about the canopy, and the fabric seems neatly attached all round. I was also surprised at how much room there is underneath for an umbrella that packs down this small! It isn't a burden to carry, and the sleeve is nicely finished too.
My only real grumble, and what kept this at four stars, is getting it fully packed away. Pressing the button shuts the canopy, but the telescoping section then needs pushing down by hand. That's how it is meant to work; I just find that last part rather awkward. With regular use I expect I'll get more used to it, though it is an extra fiddle I'd rather not have.
Once it is shortened and the fabric gathered neatly, the sleeve goes on without much trouble. Taking a moment to straighten the folds makes that easier. Overall I'm delighted with how it looks and the size when it is open. A less fiddly finish to closing would make it just about perfect for me. Still a beautiful umbrella and one I'm happy to use.

For the price, it is handy and takes very little space.
For the price, it is handy and takes very little space. Travelling abroad I would need an umbrella when the rain suddenly came, now I have this along so no more of that... Small and not much to carry, I really like it... Just as pictured, although a bigger person might want a bit more coverage.

Practically a rescue service.
Practically a rescue service. For dry clothes, anyway, as it's spared me a soaking several times. The canopy's quick button action is a real help getting in and out of cars, trains and buses. It opens to a useful size without being a full length umbrella to carry. I do wish the folded length fitted my purse, though. Ah well, it's earned its place regardless.
Joe Castillo
I wouldn't choose it for serious wind.
Useful size for commuting, and it fits in my backpack's side bottle pocket (with a little room left). Coverage is fine for one, not for hiding your whole self in sideways rain. I wouldn't choose it for serious wind. Used it about a dozen times now and it's still doing the job.
Marissa Maxwell
It's been a great little umbrella over the last few months!
It's been a great little umbrella over the last few months! Makes rainy days less of a nuisance. A press opens it and another press gathers the canopy, but getting it short again needs a firm push from you. I was cautious the first time because it took more pressure than I thought it would. That's the normal reset, not anything broken. Very happy with it, though someone with limited hand strength might find that last step a struggle.
Ebony Wall
There is enough cover for her and what she's carrying.
My daughter needed something for wet days getting to school with her teaching things, so I gave her this umbrella. There is enough cover for her and what she's carrying. She's especially happy that it folds down small enough to stay in her teaching bag until needed! It's been a really useful present and she loves using it.
Angel Bryan
Really pleased with it!
I'm a broad guy so coverage matters more to me than how tiny an umbrella looks when folded. This one gives me the room I need without having to carry a full length umbrella around. Where I live we get plenty of wet weather, and it has been dependable in the rain. The automatic action is especially useful when my other hand is occupied. A press opens it, another folds the canopy; I still shorten the shaft myself before putting it away. That last step doesn't bother me. The build feels solid and the whole thing looks quite smart. I used my first one for TWO years before leaving it behind, so getting the same one again was an easy decision. Really pleased with it!

For rain, and for making my girl happy, I'm very satisfied with it.
I got this as my girlfriend's birthday gift and she loves it. Looks smart and feels nicely made, though i should admit i am not exactly an umbrella expert. It turned up in good shape and i seem to have earned some girlfriend points, always a bonus. The zombies were completely unimpressed... apparently a useful umbrella isn't much of a deterrent. So there is that little limitation. For rain, and for making my girl happy, I'm very satisfied with it.

My beige umbrella has been lovely for summer use.
My beige umbrella has been lovely for summer use. It springs open easily and gives me enough coverage. Feels solid when there's a breeze, too. Folding the fabric neatly enough to slide the sleeve on takes a little care. Not enough to put me off though. I'm pleased with the colour and would happily have another.
Jackson Mcconnell
My son had been asking for his own umbrella.
My son had been asking for his own umbrella. The ones I saw locally felt flimsy, so I decided to try this. It gives more cover than I expected from a folding umbrella and feels MUCH better put together. He's very happy with it. I'd have no hesitation recommending it.
Victor Lawson
Arrived yesterday and I had rain to try it in today.
Arrived yesterday and I had rain to try it in today. On that one outing I'm a fan!! Normally I end up with wet hair and a damp back even carrying an umbrella, but not this time. It looks a little delicate so I can't say yet how years of use will go, hopefully well. Opened up bigger than I had pictured which turned out good because it covers me without feeling like I'm carrying some enormous thing along the city pavement and getting in everybody's way. That's important where I live. If it keeps going like this first day then I will be very glad I chose it.
Thomas Rivas
This has been worth paying extra for.
I normally grabbed whatever cheap umbrella I could find and never wanted to spend much. When the last one gave up, I actually looked into sturdier options for windy rain. This has been worth paying extra for. It feels reassuring rather than flimsy, and at 5'3" I don't find it a burden to carry. Much less of a battle when the weather turns!
Devon Werner

New smell at first!
New smell at first! I left it open to air for a couple of days and after that it was fine. The button is easy for him, I just showed him how the stem needs pushing down afterwards. no awkward little catch to hunt for. Of course he's now found out that holding an umbrella means one hand is busy. He wants to pull his wagon and pick up worms when it's wet out. So guess who ends up holding the umbrella while he does the interesting stuff.
Walter Riley
Sturdy as well as lovely.
The cream white is SO pretty. This was my mother's Christmas present and she absolutely loves it. I already have an umbrella, but seeing hers has me thinking about one for myself too. It looks much nicer in person than I expected from the photos. I wasn't sure about spending this much without seeing it first, but I don't regret it. Sturdy as well as lovely. Would recommend.
Julian Molina
I'd probably choose a smaller umbrella next time.
The coverage is useful, but I feel more pull when gusts arrive than I want. I'd probably choose a smaller umbrella next time. Specs: canopy about 105cm across; folded length about 40cm; weight roughly 390g; 30 flexible ribs. Press button to OPEN = shaft extends and canopy spreads. Press again to CLOSE = canopy folds, while the shaft stays extended. You finish retracting that part manually. Convenient enough, just a little more umbrella than suits me
Makayla Compton
Very good umbrella!
Very good umbrella! Won it in November, arrived in a cardboard box. Has some weight, closed oval handle, button opens and shuts the canopy. Push the pole down afterwards. Lots of flexible ribs, generous size when open. Material sheds rain well. Satisfied with the quality. Thank you ♥️ Can recommend!
Erica Spence
The canopy gives decent coverage!
First impressions are of a solidly made umbrella The oval handle feels secure in my hand, and there is enough room to get a comfortable grip.. The canopy gives decent coverage! I wouldn't want to jostle along a packed pavement with it open, but for walking my dog around the neighborhood it is just what I wanted. It has kept the rain off me and felt steady in the wind we've had. I like that the ribs have some give rather than feeling rigid. Opening is quick with the button, and another press collapses the canopy before I compress the stem. The only small nuisance is getting the folds tidy enough to slide the sleeve on. Not a real problem, just takes a moment. Once it is put away the sleeve keeps everything together nicely. A very satisfactory purchase, and I would happily choose it again.
Randall French
Love having this for shade.
Love having this for shade. I try to stay out of direct sun and the canopy gives me a good patch to sit under. Enough coverage for me without being tiring to hold. I'd happily take it to a game or the beach when I need some shade. The green outside and black underneath look nice together too. Exactly what I was hoping for
Tina Duke
She was pleased with the look of it as well.
I bought this as a present for my mother. It folds to a convenient size and she particularly likes being able to open it and bring the canopy down with the button. Such a useful thing to have. She was pleased with the look of it as well. I have two of these myself, so I already liked the design and how easy they are to carry. The sleeve that comes with this one is a nice finishing touch too, somewhere to put it once it's dry. That makes a very good package for her.
Henry Webster
Ialso gave it a rinse under the shower and now no smell at all.
Had to let this one air before wrapping it for our granddaughters birthday, it smelled quite strong coming out. Ialso gave it a rinse under the shower and now no smell at all. It looks adorable, she hasn't seen it yet but I'm sure itwill go down well when she opens it.
Evan Dominguez
We're so pleased with it!
Our daughter's wedding in Michigan is outdoors, and the forecast had us worrying about rain. We wanted a green umbrella rather than just grabbing any old one from the cupboard. I'd left getting it rather late and was starting to fret. Thankfully this was here in time, and it looks lovely for what we needed. One less thing to be anxious about before the ceremony. We're so pleased with it!
Melinda Rhodes
A worthwhile purchase overall!
My husband received this as a gift from me and the gray is just his sort of thing (mine too). Nothing flashy, which I appreciate, and it looks quite smart opened up. I did expect a little more room underneath. Fine for me, but he has broader shoulders and could use a bigger canopy. He actually prefers having something that will go in his backpack though, so the smaller size suits him. A worthwhile purchase overall!
Cristina Reyes
My boys are pleased with these umbrellas.
My boys are pleased with these umbrellas. Once school started it seemed silly to keep getting caught without one. The size works for them and they've figured out the button easily, so they aren't always asking me to open them. Mine are four and six and like carrying their own.
