Looks nice as well!

Goes in my work tote every day because a fair bit of my commute is on foot. It's not a featherweight, but for something that feels this solid I don't mind carrying it. Fits alongside the other things I need without taking over the bag. The button has been useful when I'm getting in or out of places in the rain. The frame has flexed in a gust and settled back without any fuss. Looks nice as well!

sometimes rain but mainly for shade.

Use this most days-for the bus to work, shopping... sometimes rain but mainly for shade. Light enough to carry without thinking about it & folds down neatly when I don't need it. The button is useful when I'm loaded up with shopping. Wind can still make it a bit of a handful, but angling it properly helps rather than fighting against it. For me the convenience more than makes up for that. My older umbrella was getting worn after years of daily use(still usable), so I wanted something handy again. This feels strong without being cumbersome & I'm happy to have it with me every day.

Automatic opening works well, same for collapsing the canopy.

Have had two of these for a few days now and both are getting used. The blue looks as described. The fabric seems good for the price, and the oval handle is solid and comfortable enough to hold. Automatic opening works well, same for collapsing the canopy. Too early to say how long they will last but so far no regrets. Size is right for one person, gives me decent cover without being a huge thing to carry. I checked a few local shops and wasn't finding much I liked for this money, so these were a good choice. Having two makes sense to me: one as a spare, or give one as a present. Handy to take to a wedding or another outdoor occasion when the weather isn't certain :).

We were glad of it wandering around Rome when it rained.

Our old golf umbrella had worn out, so I wanted a replacement for walks with my wife. This is more convenient to pack, which I hadn't really thought about when buying it. Folded down it fitted in our suitcase for Italy instead of having to be carried separately. We were glad of it wandering around Rome when it rained. It's not a huge golf canopy, but walking close together we both had enough shelter and enjoyed ourselves. Saw plenty of people wrestling with little travel umbrellas while we just carried on with our day. Having something that worked made a wet walk around the city feel rather romantic instead of miserable.

No fighting with it or getting my fingers caught.

Love how little space this takes up once folded, while there's enough room for two of us to squeeze underneath. The button is easy to use and I just push the shaft back in by hand after closing the canopy. No fighting with it or getting my fingers caught. The blue looks good and the folded umbrella sits nicely in my backpack's side pocket. It's kept me dry in some proper showers and has felt steady when it's breezy. I do grip it firmly if a gust catches it, since you still feel that pull, but so far it hasn't turned itself inside out.

These are my favourites by quite a margin.

These are my favourites by quite a margin. They feel sturdy in use and have coped well with wet, blustery walks. The oval handle gives a good grip and the canopy button has been reliable. Folded, they fit my small backpack or messenger bag without much fuss. I usually get three together, not because they wear out, but because I'm forever leaving one somewhere. Keeping spares saves me being caught without an umbrella.

This one has become my everyday umbrella.

This one has become my everyday umbrella. The oval loop handle feels solid, and the beige canopy has a rather old-fashioned, tidy look once it's up. I find the button sitting right where my thumb wants it, like a little trigger for escaping the rain. The sleeve is nicely finished, though I doubt I'll be carefully feeding a dripping umbrella into it each time I get indoors.A practical thing with a little character, which I appreciate. It isn't the tiniest folded umbrella, so that's worth bearing in mind. Still a nice buy and a possibility for holiday gifts.

Really cute and handy for the school run.

Really cute and handy for the school run. My four year old likes pressing the button to open the canopy; I help him fold it away as his fine motor skills are still catching up. Borrowed it myself last week after dropping him off when the rain came on. Had a couple of funny looks at the bus stop, but it kept me dry and coped with the gusts there. Feels much sturdier than I expected.

Michael Andrews

I really am that pleased with this umbrella!

I really am that pleased with this umbrella! The pink is the one I've been using, and it keeps the rain off properly. Once it's open there's a generous amount of cover, yet I can fold it away in my backpack. I've been walking to work for 9 years, so arriving at the office dry matters more to me than having the tiniest umbrella. The button opens it and draws the canopy back in, then the shaft needs pushing down by hand. Would be nice to skip that last bit, but hardly a deal breaker IMO.

Denise Myers

I'd recommend it.

My wife walks round the course with me and likes an umbrella for shade. Her old one was a bit of a handful if the breeze caught it (and her). This one is easier for her to carry along, and there's enough canopy for the shade she wants without lugging something enormous about. It feels well put together, too. Being able to fold it down when she doesn't need it is handy, rather than carrying an open umbrella for the whole round. I'd recommend it.

Eddie Foley

Easy to grip, even when there's wind about.

Excellent buy! I've been carrying it in downtown San Francisco on rainy days. Easy to grip, even when there's wind about. The frame feels reassuringly solid and the stitching looks tidy. Much more confidence in this one (unlike the flimsy umbrellas I used before)

Evelyn Morrow

rain with the sun still out.

Would have liked it to reach me a little sooner. Once I had it, though, I've enjoyed using it. The button is straightforward, and after the canopy closes I compress the shaft to pack it away. Handles our usual weather.... rain with the sun still out. The handle shape feels a little unusual to me, but if that's the main niggle then I reckon it's doing pretty well.

Joe Snyder

Overall I'm happy with it and would recommend it to a friend.

Had several compliments carrying this around campus. The black looks smart and the coverage is about right for me and my backpack, without feeling like I'm taking up the whole pavement. It does need a firm grip when the rain comes with gusts, which is my only real reservation. The button for opening and closing the canopy is very handy when going into buildings. Overall I'm happy with it and would recommend it to a friend.

Joel Doyle

Worth a try if you are hesitating like I was.

I wasn't quite convinced by all the enthusiasm about this umbrella... but after using it, I understand! Still have to angle it towards the rain, of course, it doesn't do that part for you. The button brings it open and pulls the canopy shut again. Then the telescoping part needs pushing together by hand, which took me a moment to work out. Not always easy when you are stepping onto the bus. But over all, I think it is a very good umbrella. I am less worried about the breezy street corners now, and carrying it folded is much easier than I expected. Worth a try if you are hesitating like I was.

Ricky Strong

Having this umbrella along makes a big difference.

So, I rely on public transport pretty much everywhere and getting drenched between stops is not my idea of a good start to the day. My hair is curly and I wear it natural, so pulling a hood tight over it on the way to work isn't ideal either. Having this umbrella along makes a big difference. There's enough cover to keep the rain off my hair and shoulders in normal showers without me having to squash everything under a hat. I can still see where I'm walking with it held at a comfortable height, which matters on busy pavements. The button took a little getting used to, but now it's easy, and it folds down for carrying once I'm under cover. Definitely happy to have it in my bag :)

Dakota Nelson

For the money I paid, I think I made a good choice.

From what I can tell, the frame is more substantial than the cheap, flimsy stuff I kept finding in shops. I'm no expert and I haven't had it out in serious wind, so I'm not going to pretend I know what it can survive. I can be pretty hard on umbrellas anyway. The plain style suits me and doesn't look fussy, which is what I wanted. The handle is an oval loop rather than the usual hooked sort. It feels comfortable in my hand and gives me somewhere to hang it when it's dry. Folded, it isn't the smallest umbrella going, but I don't mind that if it feels solid. For the money I paid, I think I made a good choice.

Stanley Bruce

It still takes up some space in a bag, tho, even folded.

Feels properly sturdy and has coped well with the gusts I've been caught in. I was tired of picking up flimsy umbrellas from local shops, so this is a welcome change. It still takes up some space in a bag, tho, even folded. I get a little damp while sorting myself into the car and getting it put away, but once I'm walking under it the coverage is good.

Suzanne Gallegos

Spending this much on an umbrella seemed a little much to me at first.

Phoenix is heating up already & with my fair skin the walk to the light rail is no fun. I work downtown, and the same commute I enjoy in winter leaves me sweating in spring and summer, even though the walk is short (really!). Spending this much on an umbrella seemed a little much to me at first. After about two weeks with it, I don't regret it at all. The shade makes that stretch to the station so much more comfortable than walking in the direct sun. It feels substantial & opens easily, not like something I have to baby. For something I can fold up and bring on the train, it has made a surprisingly big difference. It goes with me now whenever I leave for work.

Adam Torres

Has been fine in the breezy rain so far.

As expected. A bit weighty. Enough cover for me. Has been fine in the breezy rain so far. Water needs a shake off before I pack it away, then it is fine. Would recommend. The part I need to get used to is the oval handle, not my usual shape. Opening is strong and quick, so give it some room when you press the button

Patty Archer

Black is just right for me too, goes with whatever I'm wearing.

Staying dry is the whole point, and this gives me a decent roof without wrestling with a long umbrella. The canopy feels substantial and the oval handle gives me something comfortable to hold. Black is just right for me too, goes with whatever I'm wearing. If I'm being really picky, it folds down but it isn't one of those tiny things that disappears into a coat pocket. I can live with that for something that feels this solid when it's open.

Blake Fischer

the outside of the parcel did not.

The black umbrella itself was quite satisfactory, which made the untidy wrapping all the more irritating. It opened as expected and looked perfectly respectable...the outside of the parcel did not. I do not need fancy presentation for an ordinary umbrella, but I would rather not be greeted by loose paper and awkward folds when the contents are otherwise so straightforward. Is a tidy package really such a complicated thing to want? I dealt with it myself by taking the loose wrapping off, straightening the box and covering it again with plain paper I already had. Folding the corners properly made a noticeable difference; I had a neat parcel to put away, not the scruffy bundle that had annoyed me. That small adjustment settled the presentation issue, rather than just giving me something else to complain about. I have since used the umbrella in the rain and have been happy with it. The initial appearance was not to my taste, but I was able to put that right and keep a perfectly useful umbrella.

Jacqueline Valentine

Good design for walking to work.

Good design for walking to work. I was fed up with umbrellas turning inside out and leaving me standing there trying to sort them out. This one feels light enough to carry, but the ribs have some give without feeling weak.Button opening makes getting out into the rain easier. The cover is a useful size over my shoulders and bag, not just a little roof over my head. Much better for the everyday walk.

Kelli Cordova

Wind usually comes along with the rain here.

Wind usually comes along with the rain here. Needs a proper sturdy umbrella. This feels like one. Gets on with it. Doesn't take over the place when folded, either. Men aren't keen to carry an umbrella around till they actually need one. Easy to keep this out of the way. Sits nicely in my hand. Not flimsy feeling. Those flexible ribs seem to do their job. Handle feels solid too. I'm not holding it thinking it's about to take off when the weather gets lively.....and it does here. Fits in the car or a big raincoat pocket. Nothing to complain about.

Eric Hawkins

Ive been using mine for around a year.

Ive been using mine for around a year. A straightforward folding umbrella, nothing fussy about it. Dont expect it to be a walking stick just because the handle feels substantial, that isnt what its for. It opens briskly and smoothly with the button. We dont usually get much wind here, but it has dealt with the odd stronger breeze without any trouble.

Kelsey Decker

I am happy with it overall and have no hesitation recommending it.

This has been handy for golf, taking to the beach, and walking along in the rain. I don't need a huge umbrella for those things, so the compact size suits me nicely. It was a good price and the smooth button operation makes it feel like a well made product. The cream white looks clean and attractive--very pleased with the appearance. The flexible ribs feel a step up from what I expected. I am happy with it overall and have no hesitation recommending it.

Ashlee Charles

For shade and ordinary showers, I think it's a good choice.

Shade was the main reason I ordered this, with the strong southwest sun where I live. It's useful without having to carry something full sized all day.I took it along for my theme park trip, and if you've queued outside in summer you'll know why I was glad of it. Having my own shade while the line barely moved made the wait more bearable. It opens quickly, and packing it away between queues wasn't much trouble either. My one caution would be windy weather; I wouldn't want to keep it up in really strong gusts. For shade and ordinary showers, I think it's a good choice.

Ariana Callahan

Quite a good size when it is up!

This seems a well put together umbrella The oval handle feels solid, and sits comfortably in the hand.. Quite a good size when it is up! Might take some care on a busy pavement, but it suits what I wanted. Mine is for walking the dog around our neighborhood in the rain. It has kept me covered nicely, and doesn't feel flimsy when a breeze catches it. I appreciate being able to put it up with a button rather than fiddling around while holding a lead. My only little grumble is wrapping it neatly enough to go into the sleeve. Not really a serious problem. Once I straighten out the folds it goes in fine, and everything stays together instead of spreading out in the bag. The sleeve is handy to have. For the use I had in mind this has been a very good buy, and I would happily choose the same one again.

I love having it with me, worth what I paid

I needed something for the long rainy season here and this one has been doing the work. Feels strong in my hand. The oval handle is nice to hold and I can hang it on my bag pack.I have knocked it against my heavy bag too and... Still opens fine. Been carrying it plenty and it stay useful.I love having it with me, worth what I paid

My campus gets a lot of wind across the open ground, which makes rainy walks more of a chore than they ought to be. With a flimsy umbrella I spend the whole walk trying to angle it just right, and it's tiring. This one feels much steadier in the breezes I've used it in, so I'm not constantly adjusting my grip. The button is useful too, especially when rain starts while I'm walking between buildings. It opens quickly and brings the canopy together again when I'm at the door. All in all, it makes getting around campus in the rain noticeably easier.

Shannon Blake

It feels much more substantial than my old folding umbrella.

At last, one that stays useful when a rainy day gets blustery. It feels much more substantial than my old folding umbrella. I particularly appreciated it while pushing a loaded stroller with one hand, as there was no spare hand for messing about. Much nicer than being wrapped in a raincoat or poncho when the summer weather is already muggy.

Michelle Jensen

At this price I feel I've done well.

Campus walks in the rain were getting pretty miserable, and I needed an umbrella that would survive being used rather than just sitting in my bag. This one has been doing that for months now. It gives me enough cover without being so big that I resent carrying it between classes. I've had it out when the rain was blowing about and it has stayed together nicely. The ribs have a bit of give, which seems to help. I'd happily recommend it if you need something practical for everyday use. At this price I feel I've done well.

Dominique Carter

Very impressed with how it handled that day.

Had one of those days where the rain and wind both seemed determined to make getting to the car miserable. This helped a lot. I got there mostly dry and wasn't fighting an inside-out umbrella while trying to get in. The wind even caught the car door, but I still had a decent grip and the canopy held its shape. Being able to collapse it with the button was a relief. I just push the pole in afterwards. Very impressed with how it handled that day.

Leslie Stuart

For what they cost, I'm pleased with the quality.

Rain always seems to start when I'm either at work or in the car. I ordered two -- one stays at the office and the other in the car, so I don't have to remember to move an umbrella around. I've managed to loose plenty of little folding ones before, but clipping this one's loop to my bag helps when I take it out. The handle is comfortable enough and it opens promptly. There's plenty of cover for me, though I wouldn't pick it for two adults walking side by side. Both have already been useful in proper rain and felt reassuringly steady. For what they cost, I'm pleased with the quality.

Gabrielle Castillo

The button works nicely and the handle is comfortable.

The useful thing here is getting decent coverage without carrying a long umbrella - once folded, it goes in my briefcase / backpack. I'm fairly rough on umbrellas, so I'm a little cautious about the flexible feel of the frame. It isn't as rigid as some I've owned, although it hasn't given me any trouble in actual rain. The button works nicely and the handle is comfortable. (Perhaps I'm just used to thinking heavier means stronger, which isn't necessarily true. I'll be interested to see how it wears, but for now I'm satisfied with the compromise; something I actually carry is more useful than a huge umbrella left at home.

Eileen Olson

Very pleased with it!

The day this arrived we had a nor'easter, and of course that was when I needed to go out ... A fairly immediate test! It kept the rain off me and felt much more substantial opened up than I expected from the folded size. Not a tiny pocket umbrella, but it goes in my bag easily enough. The button is handy for getting the canopy open and shut. Compressing the telescoping section afterwards does need a firm push -- that's the one part that takes a little effort. Once that's done it's ready for the next outing. Very pleased with it!

Judy Berger

I am pleased with it and expect to keep using it.

After several wet journeys to work in downtown Chicago, I can say this umbrella has done what I needed it to do. I've stayed dry on the walk, and it has felt secure even where the wind funnels between buildings. Once folded it goes into my laptop backpack, with the sleeve keeping it together, so I don't have to carry a long umbrella about all day. Getting it out when the weather turns is straightforward too. Nothing about using it has felt like a struggle, even on those gusty corners where my old umbrellas made me nervous. I am pleased with it and expect to keep using it.

Elaine Keith

For an ordinary walk in the rain it is a comfortable size.

A handsome, substantial umbrella, with more thought in it than I expected. It has a little heft - enough to feel reassuring, not enough to make carrying it unpleasant. For an ordinary walk in the rain it is a comfortable size. The useful details are fairly simple. A button handles opening and drawing the canopy together, so I am not hunting for a tiny catch with sensitive fingers. The telescoping shaft still needs a firm push to reset. The closed oval handle has a shape that feels secure in my hand. Folded, it is tidy enough to put away without a fuss. Nothing ornate, just a practical design and a comfortable grip. This Oregonian has one more reason not to mind the rain.

Rachel Henson

For the rain we get in Seattle, this has been a useful umbrella.

For the rain we get in Seattle, this has been a useful umbrella. Water stays on the outside rather than gradually working its way through, which is what I mainly want from something I carry around. I was less convinced that the flexible ribs would make a huge difference in wind. It still needs a firm grip when a gust catches it, and I haven't felt a big improvement over other compact umbrellas I've used. Maybe my expectations there were too high. A small folding umbrella is still a small folding umbrella, however many ribs it has. The finish is nice and it is easy enough to carry, so overall I like it. Just wouldn't treat it as something that lets you ignore strong gusts and walk on without thinking.

Stacy Mcdowell

The oval handle is handy to carry with the umbrella folded down.

These were for my daughters' Halloween outfits and a photo afternoon. The umbrellas looked wonderful in the pictures, very cute with their costumes. The size worked well as a prop for both girls, who are 2 and 4, although I handled the button and folding up for them. I like the automatic opening myself, much nicer than fiddling with a little catch. The oval handle is handy to carry with the umbrella folded down. We're in Southern California so rain hasn't really been the test here. I mostly wanted them for the photos, but I can also see using one for a little shade on our theme park outings. Very happy with how they looked and what we paid.

Bonnie Raymond

Here in Florida the afternoon rain has become a regular thing again.

Here in Florida the afternoon rain has become a regular thing again. I've been happy using this for a proper shower or just a sprinkle. The whole thing feels well put together. The pink is FUN, and that little oval clip handle is handy for attaching it to my bag so I'm not constantly carrying it in my hand. It isn't the cheapest umbrella, but I don't mind paying more for something that feels this solid, you know? I can't say how many years it'll last, just that it seems much better made than the bargain ones I've had. Makes those rainy afternoons a little more cheerful!

Jocelyn Cannon

Really useful little umbrella!

Really useful little umbrella! I do a lot of walking outside and wanted something that wouldn't take over my bag. This folds down to a sensible size but feels substantial when it's up. The button is straightforward to use, and so far it seems able to take normal everyday handling. Would recommend it.

Suzanne Hays

I've used it quite a lot already and nothing to complain about.

With all the rain where I live I wanted something that wasn't dull but still felt dependable, and this one has been just right! Walked around the city with my backpack and there was room over both me and the bag :)A bus driver even gave me a big thumbs up at a crossing which honestly made my day. I've used it quite a lot already and nothing to complain about. The fabric feels substantial and the opening action feels controlled, not like the whole top is going to shoot away from the handle.

Duane Crane

For the shade I wanted, it's been a good purchase.

Most days I go out for a walk at lunchtime, and carrying this makes the sunny stretches a lot more comfortable. I haven't had much opportunity to judge it in rain as I mostly take it out when it's bright. The handle feels a bit less substantial than I was expecting, which is my one reservation. Still, it has stayed steady on windy walks and nothing has given me any trouble. For the shade I wanted, it's been a good purchase.

Melvin Henry

The blue looks nice without that huge golf umbrella look.

I take it along when someone walks with me to the car. There is enough cover to keep us dry on that short walk. The blue looks nice without that huge golf umbrella look. Opens quickly and the canopy folds easily too. it has stayed steady in the wind I've met, not a struggle to keep hold of it.

Russell Fowler

It looked nice in use and did what we wanted.

I chose the pink umbrella for a friend to carry at her Chinese wedding ceremony and for a bit of shade. It looked nice in use and did what we wanted. The oval handle is a different shape from what I expected, but easy enough to hold. I haven't watched it being used in rain, so my opinion is mostly about how it looked and handled that day. The opening button worked smoothly and the whole thing felt reasonably solid. Not a fancy ceremonial piece, just a decent umbrella that suited the occasion. I'm happy with what I paid.

Deanna Romero

Most importantly she has stayed dry with it.

Got this for an 8 year old girl who wanted an umbrella to take to school. I was a bit dissapointed when it wouldn't slide right into the side pocket on her backpack. The oval handle and folded length leave part of it sticking out (so it isn't tucked away completely). It is a folding umbrella ,just not a tiny one. She likes using it and can manage the button without any trouble. Most importantly she has stayed dry with it. So overall it serves the purpose, just check the bag space if that's important to you.

Roy Morse

A really useful umbrella.

A really useful umbrella. It gives me proper cover, feels strong, and folds into something I can manage easily. On wet evenings I have carried it under my coat with my belt threaded through the closed oval handle. Not the sort of thing that swings round like a long umbrella. This will be my third one. I left one in a taxi, the next I gave away, and with June here in New York I need another. My favourite part is pressing the button and having the canopy fold straight in. After that you push the telescoping stem together manually so it's ready to open again. It's a quick routine once you've done it. Handy to keep with me without carrying a huge stick everywhere.

Ronnie Tran

button works smoothly too.

was surprised how much cover this gives for an umbrella i can fold away. rainy season in atlanta had me fed up with the flimsy one i was using. bought four so there's one at the office and one in each car. really pleased with these, the sleeve keeps it tidy and the frame seems much more solid than what i've had before. button works smoothly too. nice having an umbrella ready wherever i need one instead of remembering to move it around.

Roy Hurst

In Tallahassee a sunny day can turn into a downpour without much…

In Tallahassee a sunny day can turn into a downpour without much warning-so I pretty much have to keep an umbrella with me. This one is easy to bring along, fitting neatly in the little side pocket of my backpack. For something that packs down small, it feels quite sturdy and opens out to give a decent amount of shelter.

Kayla Avery

Really liking it at this point.

Really liking it at this point. I work in downtown Chicago, where wind isn't kind to umbrellas. Only used this a couple times so I can't make big claims, but it feels sturdy and gives me plenty of cover. Folds neatly enough to stay in my backpack, ready whenever the rain starts.
