A great umbrella in most ways. The handle just feels too short for my height. I'm 5'9" and need to hold my arm higher than with other umbrellas I've used.Still gets used, haven't come across a better one for me. Every Haven umbrella I've bought has been REALLY good. They feel very strong.

The beige is lovely and the whole umbrella feels nicely put together.
Got this for my mom(who really likes soft neutral colors) for Christmas. The beige is lovely and the whole umbrella feels nicely put together. I ordered fairly close to the holiday and was happy to have it ready to wrap, without giving away what she was getting. She was delighted with it and I can see why. If you like a plain Umbrella that still looks special, this is worth paying a little more for. It feels like something she'll use for ages, and it is BEAUTIFUL!

The automatic opening is nice.
The amount of cover surprised me for an umbrella that folds down like this. My previous umbrellas have given me plenty of practice trying to hold them steady when the weather gets lively. Looking underneath this one, the ribs seem quite flexible rather than rigid and brittle. I'm not going to deliberately bend them about, but it feels like a sensible construction.
The automatic opening is nice. One press and it's ready to go. No wrestling with a little catch while getting wet! Another press draws the canopy shut, then you shorten the shaft yourself. That's worth knowing if you're expecting the whole thing to disappear into the handle.
Packing the folds neatly enough to get the sleeve on is my slightly ridiculous challenge. The umbrella closes easily; it's getting all the fabric arranged that takes me longer. Once it's in there, though, it's a tidy thing to carry. The closed loop handle is a different shape from what I'm used to, but comfortable enough.
For something that feels this substantial, the weight hasn't bothered me. I haven't put it on scales. It just doesn't feel like a burden when I'm standing holding it, which matters more to me. Overall the construction gives a good impression. Nothing about using it has made me wish I'd picked something else.

UPDATE:
Now I've actually had it out during a storm rather than just admiring how it opens. Quite a difference! The rain was coming across me and I did have to keep changing the angle. You still feel a gust pulling at any open umbrella. This one flexed, but I wasn't left fighting to put it back into shape.
Waiting on the train platform gave me a better idea of the coverage, too. There's enough for me, although it isn't one of those enormous umbrellas you can shelter half the platform under. I'd temper my first impression of its size on that point. A bigger person wanting lots of room round their shoulders might prefer more canopy. For me the balance between cover and something manageable to take along is about right.

4 stars for travel, less ideal for daily commuting
Useful folding umbrella for a travel bag or keeping handy for unexpected showers. It gives decent cover but I still get rain on my legs during the walk to work, so I would take a bigger umbrella for a long wet commute. For occasional use away from home I am happy with it and it fits neatly in my bag.4 stars for travel, less ideal for daily commuting

My 3 year old son liked this umbrella the minute he saw it!
My 3 year old son liked this umbrella the minute he saw it! We mostly find either fussy designs or boring dark ones in the shops, but this gray looks nice. I'd recommend it :)(It is an umbrella, not a toy whatever that question on the page says. Can't really judge how durable it is until is used more times, so the five stars are for how it seems now).

My daughter loves using her umbrella!
My daughter loves using her umbrella! It's been useful for keeping both her and her book bag out of the rain, which was what I wanted.I'm giving it 4 out of 5 because packing it neatly takes a little more care than I'd expected. I try to make sure she leaves it open to dry before putting it away, and that the fabric is smoothed down before it goes in the sleeve. I'm probably a bit over careful, but I want it to last and not just be another thing she plays around with.Overall we're very happy with it!

Haven't tried it in real rain yet.
Feels much nicer than the price had me expecting. Haven't tried it in real rain yet. Size looks good, i could see two people squeezing under it. The oval handle clips onto my tote or backpack,, useful for carrying it outside the bag. After closing the canopy with the button it takes a firm push to shorten the stem, feels pretty solid.
Isaac Dyer
Happy with the purchase overall.
Ive taken this umbrella along to a couple of weddings now and been very hppy with it. Useful for bridal showers and other gatherings as well, not just everyday trips out. The fabric feels nicely made, and so far it's kept me dry without any fuss. Happy with the purchase overall.
Katrina Daniel
such a small thing to make an umbrella so much handier!
i wasn't ready for how quickly it opened! then i pressed again and the canopy shut too. yes... the same button does both, which is brilliant when i'm getting into the car. you push the shaft back down by hand afterwards. such a small thing to make an umbrella so much handier!

Much better than the flimsy ones I used to have.
Umbrellas is one thing where paying a little extra seems sensible to me, and this one has justified it. It's been my regular umbrella for several years now and everything is still holding together nicely. Much better than the flimsy ones I used to have. The family borrow it sometimes too so it gets plenty of use.

++Comfortable loop handle
After about a month of use, this has earned its place among the things I take out each day. There is nothing particularly heroic about carrying an umbrella, although having one ready does make me feel better equipped. The beige canopy and enclosed oval handle give it a more distinctive look than the usual folding type.
The handle sits comfortably in my hand, and I appreciate having a proper loop to hold rather than a tiny stub. Both the fabric and the moving parts feel solid and nicely finished. A press sends the canopy up smoothly, which is particularly welcome when rain has already started. The sleeve is useful too. Once everything is folded away, it makes a neat package for carrying, without a long umbrella trailing beside me.
My only small grumble is the business of getting it back into that sleeve. If I rush the folding, I have to stop and arrange the fabric more neatly before slipping the cover on. Not a big inconvenience, but it is less effortless than getting it out. For me that is a fair exchange for having something compact and tidy to take along.
PROS:
++Distinctive, understated appearance
++Comfortable loop handle
++Smooth opening action
++Convenient folded size and sleeve
CONS:
--Needs a reasonably tidy fold before the sleeve goes back on
I would happily recommend it to someone who wants an everyday umbrella with a little character, rather than something that feels entirely anonymous.
Tiffany Jefferson
Feels steady in an ordinary breeze.
Useful shade for two if you stay close, and it folds down to leave in the car without much fuss. Feels steady in an ordinary breeze. Standing underneath is noticeably more comfortable than being right out in the sunshine. We gave this one to a family member out West, and she has only had good things to say about using it.
Hayley Mullen
ive looked at these for ages and kept putting it off.
ive looked at these for ages and kept putting it off. my GF and I took a cheap umbrella to an outdoor event and that was enough to convince me to spend a bit more. ordered two of these afterwards and they feel so much better to use. no regrets about finally doing it!

Finding an umbrella I enjoy using again has made me happy.
Finding an umbrella I enjoy using again has made me happy. I had a favourite years ago and never quite found its replacement. This one is easy to carry and gives enough cover to keep rain out of my hair and off my glasses. The green gives it a cheerful look too, which I like.
Arthur Frazier
I'm glad we had it as it got brought out several times.
Bought it after we saw the forecast for our daughters Saturday wedding. I'm glad we had it as it got brought out several times. Rain was pouring when we came out of the salon, but her hair stayed dry under it. We also held it over the couple while they got a few outdoor photos done. Not the weather we'd hoped for at all, but the umbrella was a very useful part of the day.
Paul Orr
Feels solid, and it has handled the windy rain I've had so far.
Folds down neatly but gives me a surprisingly roomy cover once opened. Feels solid, and it has handled the windy rain I've had so far. It cost more than I'd usually spend on an umbrella, but I'd rather pay that for something sturdy. I expect it'll work out better value than my usual cheap choices.
Charlene Odonnell
Works nicely and feels sturdy.
If looking like you've got your life neatly organized appeals to you, this umbrella helps. Beige canopy, tidy shape, that little loop handle. It is SO much more restrained than my usual things that carrying it makes me laugh. Turns out being sensible can be fun. Works nicely and feels sturdy.
Claire Cain
The framework was the first thing I examined on this umbrella.
The framework was the first thing I examined on this umbrella. There are 30 ribs supporting the fabric, with some flexibility rather than a completely rigid feel. I've had metal umbrella supports leave rust marks on the material before, so the framework matters to me. I can't judge long-term durability yet, but it looks reasonably substantial. The button raises the canopy quickly, and pressing it again draws the canopy closed. You do still need to compress the telescoping shaft manually afterwards. That is straightforward enough, and the shaft feels solid when extended. The oval loop handle is different from those I'm used to, but comfortable to grip. At roughly 105cm across, the canopy gives sensible coverage for one person. It isn't an oversized umbrella, but I haven't felt short of protection in ordinary rain. The pink is a pleasant colour and the fabric folds away fairly neatly once it is dry. My main reservation is how long it remains when folded. About 40cm is quite a bit of space in a bag, although the weight is reasonable. It fits more naturally in a tote than a small handbag. For me, that slightly undermines the convenience of having a folding model: it is easier to carry than a full-length umbrella, but not something I can tuck into whatever bag I happen to be using.
Preston Pineda
It's worked well for that.
My daughter needed something to keep both her and the things she carries for teaching out of the rain, so this was her gift. It's worked well for that. She especially likes that it folds down to a size she can leave in her teaching bag, instead of remembering a separate umbrella every morning. She's delighted with it.
Denise Mejia
It feels solid without being a big long umbrella to lug about.
I picked this out for my 2 year old, and she's delighted with it! I do the opening and folding, but she likes holding it with me when it rains. It feels solid without being a big long umbrella to lug about. The sleeve is useful for keeping it neatly packed away afterwards. Such a lovely little purchase, I'd happily choose it again!
Lindsey Frost
The coverage is right for one adult.
Used this around the lakes in the Italian Alps and it coped really well with the rainy days we had. Some of those exposed walks get blustery, and I was glad to have something that felt solid rather than flimsy. The coverage is right for one adult. My girlfriend has squeezed in beside me for a short walk in light rain, but I would NOT choose this as our regular umbrella for two. You'd want more room for that. The finish looks tidy and the opening action feels positive. Nothing flashy about it, just a smart looking umbrella. The price gave me a moment's pause, then after using it I stopped thinking about that. I'd rather pay for something I enjoy using than keep buying umbrellas I don't trust. If you're after a sensible personal umbrella with a decent build, I'd happily recommend it. Stay dry out there.
Gwendolyn Beck
They feel well put together and look smart as well.
We bought two (2) for the family a couple of years ago, and these are the ones everyone reaches for. The children especially want the button ones, and grumble if they have to take something else. The opening is quick and the canopy folds with another press, which is genuinely useful rather than just a gimmick. They feel well put together and look smart as well. Easily our most liked umbrellas, and a purchase I would make again.
Victor Burke
Seeing it folded, I thought it looked smaller than the pictures…
Seeing it folded, I thought it looked smaller than the pictures had suggested and also lighter than I imagined. Once opened it was quite a reasonable size, enough for an adult man rather than something tiny. There has been no rain since it arrived, so my opinion is really just from looking it over and trying it. I cannot judge how the fabric will hold up yet, but I hope to get plenty of use from it. The loop handle is easy for me to grip and the opening button is convenient. Compared with the prices I have seen locally, it seems a reasonably good purchase.
Jimmy Barber
Such a sweet looking umbrella.
Such a sweet looking umbrella. My daughter actually hopes for a wet day now so she has a reason to take it out! She's had a few nice comments about it as well. Ours has been going for a couple of months and still looks good. We live in the rainy part of Washington so it certainly hasn't been sitting unused. The simple style is lovely and the price was fair for something practical. It makes a nice birthday present too. We bought another for a friend and hers goes out with her whenever the weather turns wet.
Tyrone Wilkinson
The quality has been good.
My old umbrella had given up, so I spent a while looking at replacements. Quite a few similar ones cost more than I wanted to spend, and this seemed a reasonable choice. The quality has been good. I mainly take it along when I'm watching my daughter play soccer, as I want some shelter from the Sun rather than just rain. It has handled the windy afternoons here in Oklahoma well so far. For what I paid, I'm very happy with how it is made and how useful it has been.
Marissa Medina
Feels pretty substantial in the hand, not flimsy.
A folding umbrella with a reasonable amount of cover is something I've been after for a while. I spotted this while out doing errands yesterday, and the blue appealed to me. With the g'kids up in the northwest, I tend to think about rain whenever I'm packing to go there. It goes in my carry-on without a struggle, despite opening to a useful size. Feels pretty substantial in the hand, not flimsy. Haven't had a proper rainy outing with it yet, but I'm pleased with what I've seen.
Regina Mclean
Found what I was looking for here!
I wanted an umbrella I could carry around without it feeling flimsy (or turning inside out in a little wind). Found what I was looking for here! Having had umbrellas that lasted for years, I wanted that same sturdy feel. The frame seems solid and the button makes opening and closing the canopy easy. Nothing about it feels flimsy to me.
Sergio Velez
Still decent value overall.
I'd thought automatic closing meant the whole umbrella would shorten itself. The button does close the canopy, but you still compress the shaft by hand, which isn't quite as convenient as I had imagined. It's not the fanciest umbrella I've used, but it has kept me dry through rainy days, so I felt comfortable getting one for a friend too. Still decent value overall. I just wish packing it away involved a bit less effort after pressing the button.
Carlos Townsend
I use mine on the kayak for sun and rain.
I use mine on the kayak for sun and rain. I've got a milk crate with rod holders behind the seat, and keep the folded umbrella back there until I need it. There isn't much shade out on the water, so let me tell ya, being able to make some is freakin nice -- especially when I'm sitting in one place. It has also given me decent cover when the rain starts. The frame has felt solid in a breeze, and it packs away without taking over the little space I've got. I do wish I could see through it, as that would make looking around easier. For an umbrella to have along on the kayak, though, I'm very pleased.
Lynn Perkins
A small inconvenience but quite worthwhile.
Among ordinary umbrellas this offers a pleasingcombination of practicality and appearance. The canopy makes a shelteredspace above the user, and the overall look is rather striking among passing pedestrians. Deployment is quick with the button, although pressing the shaft back down needs a little effort at first. A small inconvenience but quite worthwhile. Would also make an agreeable gift. Recommended.
Sheila Coleman
Lovely looking umbrella and the construction seems really solid.
Lovely looking umbrella and the construction seems really solid. Not much more to ask for! It's heavier than our two year old can manage comfortably, so we'll be holding it for now. I can see an older child managing better. Impressed with the quality, especially when so many children's things feel rather flimsy.
Gavin Branch
Both are really nice and they arrived quickly as well.
Feels sturdy and looks lovely - people have asked me about it after only a few uses. Opening it is easy and the button folds the canopy neatly, though pushing the shaft down takes a firm push. We've had so much rain that I bought two. Both are really nice and they arrived quickly as well.
Leonard Simon
Apart from that I'm pleased with it.
As an art teacher I do appreciate a nice looking umbrella, and this one gets used a lot. My one niggle is packing it away after pressing the close button. The canopy gathers up fine, but compressing the telescoping part until it catches needs a fairly firm push. Nothing wrong with the automatic part, just more effort than I'd like at the end. Apart from that I'm pleased with it.
Eugene Noble
This has gone down very well with my five year old.
This has gone down very well with my five year old. She had been asking for an umbrella of her own for ages, so I let her open the package herself and she very excited about it. It feels nicely made rather than something that's only for playing with. She wants to open it all the time, although I help her with closing it and pressing it back down. We've taken it out on two rainy days now and she stayed dry underneath. It's a good amount of cover for her and I'm pleased with how it's been so far.
Hayden Santos
It's been a good choice.
Instead of grabbing another cheapy umbrella off a rack, I spent a little more time choosing this one. I didn't want the tiniest thing available, just something I could still carry easily. It's been a good choice. The ribs have some flex, which I appreciate because the stiff frame on my old umbrella didn't do well when the wind caught it. I'm not going to deliberately turn this one inside out to see what happens, but it feels less brittle and has handled my normal use just fine.
Candace Kent
The loop handle is firm in the hand.
The gray isn't quite the shade I had in mind from the photo, but the umbrella itself is much as expected. It spreads out to a decent size and the opening button works well. The loop handle is firm in the hand. Getting the sleeve on is a close fit, although once it's in there it makes the whole thing tidier to store. I let it dry out before packing it away. Haven't really used it as a sun shade yet, mostly just for rain. It gives me comfortable coverage, though I wouldn't buy it expecting a giant umbrella for several people. Overall, I like having it!
Sergio Weeks
Looks like a good umbrella and I'm glad I bought it.
Nothing to complain about so far, though the really wet and windy part of the year hasn't arrived here yet. I might come back with more to say once it does. I have taken it out in a decent downpour and it kept me dry, which is more than I can say for some cheap ones I've owned. Looks like a good umbrella and I'm glad I bought it.
Jeremy Steele
Nice quality, good feel, useful size!
For the money this has been my favorite sort of automatic umbrella, with a good amount of cover but still folding to a manageable length (not some enormous stick). A press opens it and another press closes the fabric, then you push the stem in to put it away. Nice quality, good feel, useful size!I haven't opened this replacement yet (MY STARS ARE FOR THE PREVIOUS ONE), which I managed to leave somewhere. But I was happy enough with that one to choose it again, and replacing it didn't cost a fortune. Getting the canopy down at the car door is the bit I appreciate most. SO MUCH LESS FUMBLING!!!
Cheryl Garrett
Looks attractive and seems a properly made umbrella.
Looks attractive and seems a properly made umbrella. It has been fine with some wind, though I have not taken it out in very strong winds yet. The open size is good considering how small it becomes folded up. It's not one of those huge golf umbrellas. That is fine with me as I wasn't after something so big.
Barbara Ponce
Glad to find it at a good price.
My two granddaughters are different one likes everything bright the other is quiet. The youngest needed an umbrella for school and picked this green one. It rained on the week end right after and she wanted to try it. Before we could go out with her she was already outside seeing if it worked. Kept her dry so now its put away with her school things, not a toy to keep playing with. Glad to find it at a good price.
Chad Mccoy
My wife reaches for this when rain starts.
My wife reaches for this when rain starts. She likes how steady it feels in the gusts we've had instead of constantly fighting to hold it straight. Shes got little hands and the loop handle is comfortable enough, button is easy for her too. She has used it for a few years and its still doing its job. The gray is just what she wanted and the sleeve is useful for putting it away (and storage also.). Seams all look good still. I'd happily get another, feels like money well spent.
Ricardo Ponce
Several years of use and mine is still going strong!
Several years of use and mine is still going strong! Nothing has come loose and the button still opens it properly. The Cream White looks so nice, it's still the one I reach for. Can't see any reason to replace it with something else! Looks and everyday usefulness both get full marks from me!
Amy Wells
Looked in SO many places!
I kept hunting for an umbrella to use as a prop in photos of my 5 month old son. Looked in SO many places! This one was just what I wanted and the price suited me too. Really cute in the pictures, and it seems nicely made rather than just a prop. Glad I found it.
Jodi Coffey
Definitely pleased with what I paid.
My little boy is three and wants this out whether there's rain or sun. He also insists it's his walking stick, so it hasn't exactly had gentle treatment. I expected it to look battered by now, but there's only a little scratching and it's still working nicely. Definitely pleased with what I paid.
Sierra Rose
Has kept me dry through the rain here in Florida.
Has kept me dry through the rain here in Florida. The pink looks really nice and is easy to spot among all the dark umbrellas. It opens quickly and there is plenty of coverage for me. A good size. Getting the handle pushed back in after closing takes a bit of effort. Not terrible, just noticeable. Otherwise I'm pleased with it and would recommend it.
Tyler Hensley
Wonderful for shade!
Wonderful for shade! Under it I can actually get a break from the sun rather than just squinting my way along. There is a little more weight than in my simplest umbrella, but I'll happily carry that for the shade it gives. Putting it away needs some effort- the button brings the canopy in, then the shaft has to be pressed down by hand. That's manageable and doesn't change how much I enjoy using it. I'd recommend it straight away to anyone wanting a sun umbrella.
Melanie Anthony
A one person umbrella rather than something I'd choose for two.
The handle feels a little short relative to the open canopy, so I end up holding it higher than I'd like. Folded up, though, it's quite manageable for commuting and doesn't take over the bag. A one person umbrella rather than something I'd choose for two. The overall layout is sensible, with a small compromise in the grip. The oval loop is convenient, but there isn't much room to change your hand position once you've settled into it. A note for whoever designs these: a bit more gripping room would be welcome. That isn't a reason to leave it at home. The fabric feels good, the ribs have some give, and the whole thing seems reasonably tough for its size. I wouldn't treat a compact umbrella like a big storm umbrella, but for everyday use the balance of portability and price makes sense. It's the sort of umbrella I'd be annoyed to leave behind!
Shelby Gillespie
A few people have said how nice it looks so far.
Had been trying to find an umbrella I actually liked for a while, rather than just another plain practical thing. The cream white outside against the black underneath caught my eye and gives it a bit more character! A few people have said how nice it looks so far.I've had it around three months now and the frame and canopy are holding up well. Only downside was some dust on it when it arrived, so I had to give it a wipe before using it. Once that was done it looked much better, just an extra little job.
Alfred Morrow
Otherwise I'm pleased with it.
I carry my son on my chest, so I wanted an umbrella with enough coverage to shelter his head as well as mine. This does that pretty well on our rainy outings. It has a bit of weight, but I can manage it. Keeping it a bit higher gives me a clear view ahead as well. The button is handy, though putting it away is less convenient with a baby against me. The canopy folds at a press, then the telescoping stem needs a firm manual push to shorten it. That's the one thing I'd make easier for using it like this. Otherwise I'm pleased with it. We haven't been out with it that often yet, so I can't give much of an opinion on how long it will last.
Brian Wright
Very good, but it is heavy to carry about.
There is plenty of cover and it takes the beach wind better than the other umbrellas I have. I spend half the year living at the beach, so I have quite a few. Seeing one hold its shape on a windy day when the others weren't was what made me get it. Very good, but it is heavy to carry about. I suppose that helps it resist bending over or folding up in the wind. The beige is very nice and seems popular on our Cape Cod beach. I would buy another.
