A solid umbrella, no question. I have another one that I've been happy with (bought separately) and they're both worth keeping. At this price I do expect a decent finish, and so far I haven't found anything to grumble about. It's been through a season with me and the handle and ribs still feel firm. Not the lightest thing I carry, but I'll take that for something durable. Having the automatic action is a real convenience too. I'll add more if anything changes.

Better than I expected for the money.
Better than I expected for the money. I was half prepared for something that felt cheap, but the umbrella itself doesn't. Had it about a month now and it's been doing the job. The handle sits nicely in my hand and the fabric seems decent. Pressing the button to open it is convenient, especially compared with fiddling around getting a manual one started. The carry sleeve is pretty plain. Probably the least impressive part, but it fits over the folded umbrella and keeps everything together, so fair enough. Looks rather serious tucked into that sleeve, for something that just keeps rain off you. Arrived toward the early end of the estimate, well wrapped so nothing was knocked about. Glad I went for it.

We ended up reaching for it several times that day.
Rain was forecast for the Saturday of our daughters wedding so I ordered this umbrella. We ended up reaching for it several times that day. Coming out of the salon the rain was really coming down, but her hair stayed dry underneath it. We used it again for a few pictures of the couple outside. Not the weather we would have chosen, but the umbrella really helped us make the best of the day.

The blue is clear and cheerful.
I have become very fond of this umbrella, First thing I noticed was how substantial it feels for one that folds away, not flimsy in the hand. The ribs have a little give to them and the button opening is a convenience I appreciate. The blue is clear and cheerful. Here in Arizona there is far more sunshine than rain, and on those very hot days I want something between myself and that sun. A hat is useful, but it does not give me the same patch of shade as an umbrella. This one suits me nicely, It has been particularly welcome when I am out looking over the garden. Not so large that it becomes a nuisance to take along, yet there is room underneath to feel shaded. the neighbours each side of me have their umbrellas out too, apparently I am not alone in wanting a little shelter from the sunshine..the blue is a happy choice, I enjoy seeing it rather than another dull thing in the garden. I am more careful these days about keeping my face shaded, those spots on the cheeks are quite enough already. I would recommend it for a portable sun shade, and yes, taking it along for golf as well...(bg). A full five stars from me.

Better quality than I was expecting, too.
Old fashioned umbrellas have always been my weakness My grandmother had a black one that I borrowed until it finally wore out. That is still the umbrella I compare everything with...probably unfairly. I spent ages online trying to find something with that same proper umbrella feeling, without paying a ridiculous amount.
This one isn't a decorative old style umbrella, but it has the plain black look I wanted and is much more practical to put away. Better quality than I was expecting, too. The canopy has a nice shape when it's up and the flexible ribs don't feel flimsy. I can hold the oval loop handle comfortably. Different from the old handle, yes, but not unpleasant in the hand. The button is useful, although you do push the shaft back down yourself after closing the canopy. That's fine with me.
My little quibble: I still miss the fancy shaping and bits of fabric on my grandmother's umbrella. Nothing practical about that, I just enjoyed watching them move while I walked! So this isn't an exact replacement for a memory. For an umbrella I can actually carry around and use, though, I'm delighted. Black was definitely the right choice for me.

Wish there was a little more room.
The blue canopy is great for one person, but it's a squeeze trying to shelter my school-age child as well on the way into school. Wish there was a little more room.Definitely worth knowing that when closing, the button only folds the canopy. To finish putting it away you compress the telescoping shaft by hand. Easy enough when you know, just not quite the one-step closing I had in mind.

I have a talent for misplacing umbrellas.
I have a talent for misplacing umbrellas. Not useful, as talents go. A seat on public transport, the corner of a restaurant, somewhere I was absolutely certain I would remember to check before leaving. If there is somewhere an umbrella can quietly become somebody else's umbrella, I have probably contributed to the collection. Buying cheap ones seemed the sensible response. Why become attached?
That approach does have a drawback. You start treating the thing as rubbish before it has actually become rubbish. I would buy another forgettable umbrella, give very little thought to looking after it, and eventually either lose it or retire something that looked thoroughly defeated. Then repeat. Economical in theory, less convincing when you consider how many umbrellas pass through the process.
Eventually I decided to try caring about the umbrella instead. This Haven is green, which at least makes it less anonymous amongst my belongings. I won't pretend that a colour can fix my memory, but buying something I actually want to bring home seems a better starting point than assuming we will shortly be parted. So far, our relationship is progressing nicely. I know where it is, for one thing.
The size helps. In my view it is cover for one person, rather than an invitation for two people to shuffle along with wet shoulders. Folded up, it goes in my backpack without requiring everything else to be rearranged around it. That means I actually take it along. An excellent umbrella left at home is still rather useless when you're standing outside getting soaked.
It has dealt with the wet weather I've taken it through without making an event of it. Open it, walk, stay dry. There is something satisfying about equipment that lets you stop thinking about the weather for a while.
Closing deserved a closer look, because I wanted to understand what the button actually did. It draws the canopy shut; reducing the telescoping stem to its packed length is a separate push by hand. I had pictured the whole thing retracting at once, but the actual routine is straightforward. No struggle, no elaborate folding ceremony. Once reset, it's ready for the next outing. Excellent.
So the grand experiment continues: own an umbrella worth remembering, and remember it. I'm pleased with this one, both to carry and to use. For once, another rainy forecast feels more like an opportunity than an inconvenience. Weather, you may proceed.

I've ended up buying this three times now.
I've ended up buying this three times now. They've all been good umbrellas, I just keep leaving mine somewhere when I'm out. It folds down quite small, although getting the telescoping part pushed back in takes a bit of effort. I brace it securely and use both hands and that makes it simple enough. The button has already closed the canopy by then. Apart from that, 10/10 for me. I'd like to report on months of use, but the forgetting part keeps getting in the way.

Probably something I'll get used to.
Afternoon showers are just part of summer here in SW Florida, so we keep umbrellas in each car and one near the garage door. This one gives me a decent amount of cover while I'm getting the kids in and out. It opens automatically, which is handy, although I still have to feel around for the button when I'm in a hurry. Probably something I'll get used to. The black looks neat rather than flashy, and it isn't much trouble to carry around.
Dorothy Ingram
Nice umbrella, the button does what it should ...
Nice umbrella, the button does what it should ... but it isn't the smallest thing to carry folded. Has a bit of weight to it too. Getting the fabric wrapped up neatly is more fuss than I would like, especially when its wet and I just want to put it away. On the other hand the frame seems substantial, so I suppose thats the trade off. Mine will live in the car rather than take up space in my travel bag.

Now it's here and it's just the colour I hoped for.
Our daughter's ceremony is outside and the forecast has been looking wet, so I wanted a beige umbrella rather than the dark one we already had. It was one of those things I'd completely forgotten about until the last minute and was beginning to worry over. Now it's here and it's just the colour I hoped for. One less wedding detail to fret about and we couldn't be happier!

Had this a few months now.
Had this a few months now. Quite manageable to carry. Wouldn't choose it for rough winds, but it has been excellent for shade. I live in Southern California and the past three weeks have been over 100 degrees most days. Not the most glamorous looking thing, but it's useful, which matters more to me. Took it with me to England and Scotland and it handled the rain well there too. I'm getting one for my mother as well.

Our weather brings frequent rain along with a fair amount of wind.
Our weather brings frequent rain along with a fair amount of wind. I've had meny umbrellas feel useless almost as soon as I left home. This one's flexible frame has stood up well and given me reliable cover. I would trust it with the usual precipitation, though I might draw the line at anything molten falling from above.
Paula Garcia
After losing 3 umbrella in 2 months I needed another.
After losing 3 umbrella in 2 months I needed another. City winds are not kind but this one has done well so far. Small enough to carry about without thinking. I may buy a larger umbrella as well because when it really pours I'd like more cover rather than the compact size
Jade Arellano
Our family is so pleased with it.
My daughter and her teammates made such a fuss over this umbrella! Someone asks about it nearly everytime we bring it along, which is lovely. It's handy for shade while we're outside and just as useful for keeping the rain off. Our family is so pleased with it. ABSOLUTELY LOVE OURS!

I chose black.
I chose black. Its a plain colour that doesn't shout at you, which suits me. The whole thing feels nicely made and opening it is straightforward. After collapsing the canopy with the button, I press the pole down and put it away without much fuss. Haven't tried it in any really wild weather, but the rainy, mildly breezy days have been no problem. I might have liked a touch more coverage, although for the money I wont take a star off. I wouldn't describe it as something for two people, either. With just me there's room for my handbag and I can walk normally. Put someone alongside me and one of us is going to have a shoulder sticking out.
Jasmin Sanders
Feels like a well made umbrella.
Feels like a well made umbrella. I've been using it every week for about five months and it is still going strong, so hopefully plenty of life left. One star off for the opening button being quite firm. It takes a proper press with my thumb rather than a light touch.

A very happy day!
I had wanted this umbrella for ages, so finally getting it was exciting! With something that folds down, and at this price, I wasn't expecting it to feel particularly solid. I mainly liked the look of it! Opening it for the first time changed that. The gray looks great, the frame feels strong and everything sits neatly when it's up! Much nicer than I had pictured. Living in Southern California does mean a new umbrella can sit around waiting for its moment, though! Mine had to wait a few weeks before there was any rain. Sunday finally gave me an excuse!! Got to use it and enjoy the game as well. A very happy day!

(not sharing mine when they decided rain wasn't worth preparing for).
what can i even add? loads of room under this thing and i actually stay dry. walking along feeling like i own my bit of pavement lol. then you see ppl hunched under these tiny umbrellas or getting soaked trying to look unbothered. (not sharing mine when they decided rain wasn't worth preparing for). it folds up which is great, still wish the folded size was a little shorter for carrying. Overall, very glad i picked this one. would def recommend.
Jeanette Dixon
For the way I use it, this has been very good.
After about a year, mine still gets used most weeks for rain or a bit of shade. The button action has behaved itself so far, which is more than I expected at this price. I'd just say think about how much coverage you need before ordering. I'm 5'10" and it's fine for my head and shoulders, but rain coming in sideways still reaches my trousers and shoes. That's not unusual with a compact umbrella, just something worth being realistic about. If you want nearly all of you covered rather than something you can fold away, you'd probably be happier carrying a larger one. For the way I use it, this has been very good.
Lydia Herring
I would be comfortable purchasing another from the same seller.
Everything matched the description when it arrived, and the delivery went as expected. The umbrella has now had six months of use and continues to operate properly. It has provided good rain coverage and has not inverted in the windy conditions where I have used it. Overall, both the purchase experience and the quality have been satisfactory. I would be comfortable purchasing another from the same seller.

On HOT afternoons at the field it also gives a welcome bit of shade.
I carry this on backpacking trips and along to the kids' soccer games. It isn't something I pack every time, but when the forecast looks wet I'm glad to make room for it. Easy enough to carry and gives me somewhere dry to stand when there isn't any shelter. On HOT afternoons at the field it also gives a welcome bit of shade.

Well, this feels like a seriously solid umbrella with a roomy canopy!
Well, this feels like a seriously solid umbrella with a roomy canopy! I was after a folding one for the occasional rain here in Arizona, just something better made than the little bargain ones I've had. Folded, it is thicker and heavier than I had in mind, although the construction does make me hopeful it will last. Working the button isn't hard once you understand the sequence. It springs open readily. Another press draws the canopy shut, and you then manually compress the telescoping shaft until it latches before putting it away. That last push needs more force than I find comfortable. On balance I appreciate the coverage and solid feel. The extra bulk and the effort of resetting it are what stop me giving it the full five stars.

arrived when expected and was packed nicely.
arrived when expected and was packed nicely. so happy with this one..!!! I had a smaller umbrella before, handy in a purse or backpack but not much room underneath. bought this because i needed a little more cover for going to the lake. it feels nice sitting under it out of the sun. still folds away for carrying so its not a big thing to take along.
Rick Cochran
Folded down it is easy enough to carry along.
The construction feels very solid and it has dealt with the windy rain I've used it in very well. The ribs have some give , rather than feeling fragile, which makes me confident carrying it out. Fabric sits well across the frame and the whole thing feels properly put together. Folded down it is easy enough to carry along. A friend tried mine and was keen to get one too after being disappointed by several little folding umbrellas
Timothy Huff
It gives me good coverage and feels solid in normal rain.
I love this umbrella BUT the black makes it look very serious. Didn't really think about that when choosing it... Got a couple of nice comments and one person calling it gloomy. It gives me good coverage and feels solid in normal rain. I'm still cautious about using it in strong gusts, but for everyday weather it's been great. I like the plain look even if everyone doesn't.

Can recommend this umbrella ☔ .
A good umbrella i needed one with the wet autumn weather coming and this one seems a good buy i would order another.
The frame looks strong and the button action is different to my old sort, it opens up and also brings the canopy closed. You press the stem back in yourself after that, i hope the button keeps going for a long time.
Glad to have it ready for the rain.
Can recommend this umbrella ☔ .

It was pretty much what I expected .
It was pretty much what I expected . Feels solid and there is room to get my laptop bag under with me without struggling. I would still rather have a curved handle, the closed loop takes a little getting used to. Not bothered by having to carry it carefully as i don't go tapping umbrellas along the pavement anymore. It cost more than the ones I used to grab, but I feel it is worth that. Might get a second to leave in the other car. Here in west central florida the rain doesn't always come politely, it really comes down. This has done very well so far. I would recommended spending a bit more on something that feels this well put together.

This has been handy for the walk with my kindergarten daughter.
This has been handy for the walk with my kindergarten daughter. She can press the button to put it up, and the the size gives us useful cover without being enormous. I do the final push down when we finish. Not enough rainy days yet to say how it will last, but it is easy to carry and the sleeve keeps it tidy.
Clayton Russell
Plenty of cover for me without carrying something huge!
Honestly, after going through so many flimsy umbrella's, I'd rather pay for one I actually like-- solid frame, not much weight to lug about, and folds down neatly. Used it in rain with some wind and it behaved itself, no wrestling with it! Plenty of cover for me without carrying something huge!
Fred Donovan
For the money I think it's an excellent umbrella.
I found my first one unused in a resale shop and wondered why somebody had let it go. After carrying it for a while I kept the tag so I could find the same umbrella again. It was that much nicer to use than the ones I had been buying. Years later, when it was looking tired, I was glad I could track down another online. The new one has the same solid feel and easy opening that made me keep the first. For the money I think it's an excellent umbrella. I'd happily choose it again rather than start guessing with something unfamiliar.
Krista Dawson
We've enjoyed it and I'd recommend it.
My daughter is nearly 3 and we've had this around six months. She's very fond of this umbrella and likes playing with it indoors as much as taking it outside. It's been part of her little forts and stood in as a beach umbrella in her games. For actual rain I hold it with her, and it has kept us nicely covered. Wind makes it a handful for someone her size (she's quite small for her age), so I wouldn't expect her to manage it alone. We've enjoyed it and I'd recommend it.

What a lovely, solid umbrella, I absolutely LOVE it !
What a lovely, solid umbrella, I absolutely LOVE it ! Mine is black, simple but very smart.... exactly the look I wanted. It feels surprisingly manageable to carry considering how much cover there is once it's up. The frame has a bit of give in a breeze rather than feeling stiff and awkward, and there's a generous sheltered space underneath.Using it in the rain has been a pleasure. A press of the button sends the canopy up smoothly, and another press gathers it back in; after that I push the telescoping section down by hand. No wrestling to get everything put away. The oval handle gives me something secure to hold onto, and feels nice in my hand.Looking forward to more rainy days ! Very happy with it !
Michael Curtis
And the handle has that closed oval...
The first proper rain I used this in came with more wind than I'd bargained for. It did turn inside out once, which wasn't much of a shock in those conditions. The useful part was that the ribs flexed instead of staying bent. Straightened it out and carried on using it. I also appreciate having a sleeve to tuck it into afterwards, rather than loose folds catching on everything in my bag. And the handle has that closed oval... loop... bit, which makes it easy to keep hold of while sorting myself out (there always seems to be something else to carry)

Need a folding umbrella for travel?
Need a folding umbrella for travel?Something to slide into a tote?Or tuck in your briefcase rather than carry in your hand?Worth a look! Not pocket-sized, but easy enough to pack.As for how it lasts, mine has seen some very heavy rain already and I've nothing to complain about.
Martha Hodge
Handy for showers or when I want some shade.
Needed something folding to take on a beach holiday and this has been a treat. Cuter than I expected, and it feels strong too. Handy for showers or when I want some shade. I've had a few compliments on it, which makes me grin. It's just a cheerful little thing!
Daryl Rios
Seems sturdy and is now ready for the rain.
My boys really like it - an umbrella that packs away neatly.I like the oval handle as they can get their fingers round it comfortably. It isn't see-through, so I remind them to keep the edge above their eyes rather than pull it right down. There was a slight smell straight out of the packaging - nothing terrible, and it went after being left open to air. Seems sturdy and is now ready for the rain.
Martin Proctor
The pink colour was the first thing I liked.
The pink colour was the first thing I liked. It rains a lot where I live so I enjoy having something cheerful to carry. The size feels right, enough cover without being enormous, and getting it up is easy (to close, the button pulls in the canopy but you still push the shaft down firmly yourself). What I like most is how tidy it is once folded. It goes back into it's sleeve neatly instead of leaving me wrestling with a big bundle of fabric.I would certainly be happy to have another one!
Diamond Mendoza
I would happily recommend it.
Does what it's meant to. Solid construction. Looks smart as well. Slightly heavier than I expected but that seems to come with the sturdier feel. We shared it walking close together during gusty rain in New York and stayed well covered. I would happily recommend it.
Jodi Stanley
Matches the photo.
Matches the photo. Wow, the automatic bit is convenient. One press and it's up. Another and the canopy gathers in, click. You do have to compress the shaft yourself afterwards, and that needs a firm push, so weaker hands might find it a bit much. I'm 184cm and fairly broad, and there's still a comfortable amount of cover. It suits me well.
Lori Crawford
I've had this one around six months now and am mostly pleased with it.
After fifteen years with my old umbrella I finally decided it was time for a replacement. I've had this one around six months now and am mostly pleased with it. I really appreciate how neatly it folds and how simple the button makes opening it. My old one was a bit roomier, so I do notice the difference when the rain is coming sideways. For ordinary use it's been fine though. I still wonder whether it will last anything like as long as the old one, but so far there's nothing wrong with it.
Nicole Stokes
Does a perfectly good job in the rain as well.
Been using this for some shade on hot days at the golf course and it's made being out there much nicer. Holding it over me takes that direct sun off, and I do feel cooler underneath. I had tried taking my everyday rain umbrella before but wasn't very happy with it. This one has been a good buy. Does a perfectly good job in the rain as well.
Travis Lang
In a bit of wind it has felt steady so far.
Choosing an umbrella from pictures is not always easy, but this turned out to be a good choice. I wasn't expecting quite so much from it... haha. Appearance and color: The cream white outside is simple and tidy. From the pictures I wondered whether it would look a little feminine, but in person the plain design is quite neutral. I don't feel odd carrying it as a man. Construction: The supports inside look substantial, rather than the thin ones I expected. In a bit of wind it has felt steady so far. The oval loop handle is comfortable to grip and feels secure in my hand. Size: Folded up it looks like it won't offer much cover, then you open it and there is plenty for one adult. It's a sensible compromise between carrying size and coverage. Everything is finished neatly for what it costs. I can see myself using this regularly for rain and also for some shade on sunny days.
Adrian Burke
We're very happy with this umbrella!
We're very happy with this umbrella! My little boy is just under 3 and thinks getting to press the button is about the best thing ever. I hold it with him for that part and push the pole down by hand afterwards, since the button closes the canopy but doesn't shorten the whole umbrella. That isn't a complaint, just something to know if you have a little helper who wants to do absolutely everything himself. The umbrella feels sturdy, gives us good cover and the sleeve is handy for putting it away neatly once it's dry.The only little things I'd change are the size when folded - it's a bit much in a bag already full of toddler things - and the cream white isn't quite the shade I had in my head from looking at the picture. A finicky adult notices these things, the child absolutely does not. He's much more interested in bringing it out when the clouds appear. Mostly he just likes having an umbrella like the grownups, which is quite sweet. For something I picked with a fair bit of indecision, it has turned out to be a very good choice.

Solidly built and gives good coverage.
Solidly built and gives good coverage. It feels steady in windy weather, although I still use some care since any umbrella can turn inside out. The weight is noticeable after holding it for a while and my hand gets tired. Apart from that, I'm really pleased with it.
Chris Salas
people have said nice things about it too.
i have several umbrellas and always notice a pretty one, even when it's just sitting on display in a shop. this one has that nice simple look that appeals to me. it gives me enough cover when it's raining and i have had no trouble using it. people have said nice things about it too. i enjoy the long umbrellas as well as folding ones, but being able to put this away is handy. these are the sort of things i don't mind having more than one of!
Latasha Holloway
Normally I don't bother with umbrellas.
Normally I don't bother with umbrellas. Never thought they helped enough to carry one. This one has changed my mind a bit. It actually gives me decent cover, and I find myself reaching for it instead of just getting wet. Busy pavements still mean doing that little lift past other people's umbrellas. There is a bit of weight to it, but to me that makes it feel more substantial.
Katherine Shaw
So pleased with them!
Some reviews had me hesitating, especially the comments about seams. I ordered six anyway for the "jellyfish" in a school musical, because cream white was exactly what we needed. All six opened up looking good, with neat seams and no damage. The colour was just as it appeared in the pictures. It was a relief to have the whole set ready for the show. So pleased with them!
Earl Kaiser
Definitely worth the price.
I've tried enough umbrellas, and this one wins for me. It has coped with the wind in New York and on golf courses in Texas! Definitely worth the price. Compact when folded, but useful coverage when open. Something that ONLY covers the top of your head isn't much of an umbrella!
