It's an umbrella!

I've been trying to find an umbrella that wasn't too expensive and finally settled on this one! It is such a cute little thing. I've had it out about five times now and it has kept me dry, which is what I wanted. Obviously you need to hold it up enough to see past the edge. What are people expecting, a window above their heads? It's an umbrella! Lift it a little instead of pulling it down over your face. I can see where I'm going perfectly well.

Excellent quality, really impressed.

Excellent quality, really impressed. The canopy has a neat finish and the whole thing looks properly put together. Gives a good amount of cover when open but packs down small. I also prefer the simple oval loop handle, without little novelty bits to fiddle with. That's definitely a good thing where my 8 year old is concerned.

Used my new umbrella n really like it.

Used my new umbrella n really like it. Me n my little dog fitted under it with no trouble. The pink is a nice colour, fine for me a lady n anybody else who likes it. That loop handle is handy, I clip it to my bag when closed so my hands are free!Pleased I chose this one, it is a very useful carry along umbrella.

The girls were thrilled with theirs too!

I bought three of these umbrellas for my wedding flower girls and I love them! The girls were thrilled with theirs too! They feel sturdy, even with my little sisters being their usual hyper selves. It did take a little over two weeks to get them, but I wasn't short of time. Couldn't be happier with them!

What a beautiful quality umbrella this is!

What a beautiful quality umbrella this is! Really ! The beige is so nice, makes me happy P:I like how carefully it seems put together. Even the handle has a good feel. Happy to be seen with this umbrella, take it along whenever I go out. Thank you for such a nice thing.

She likes carrying it and people have said nice things about it.

My daughter thinks this umbrella is so cute and is actually pleased when it rains now. She likes carrying it and people have said nice things about it. We've been using it for a couple of months, with plenty of wet days where we live, and it's still looking good.I thought the price was sensible too, considering how much use she gets from it. I like that it's fun but also useful. We gave one to a friend for her birthday as well, and she tells us it gets taken out whenever it rains.

This umbrella looks very nice and makes a gloomy day a little nicer.

This umbrella looks very nice and makes a gloomy day a little nicer. I have had it for 2 days and already taken it out twice. The size when open was a surprise, not much smaller than the umbrella my husband carries. It feels well put together also. I am happy I chose it and hoping it will stay with me a long time. P.s. The gray is a little more muted than it looked in the photo. Not a huge difference, but there is a difference when you see it in person.

Bigger opened up than I was expecting, so there is plenty of shade.

Bigger opened up than I was expecting, so there is plenty of shade. the loop handle clips on easily, and the button opens and closes the canopy. would've preferred a thicker underside, a little sunlight shows through what is there, but otherwise very good. happy with it :)

Kevin Rose

Automatic opening works smoothly.

Quality fabric. Automatic opening works smoothly. The only thing I cannot judge yet is how that mechanism will hold up to repeated use. It feels secure once opened, so there is no immediate issue. If the opening action became less effective later on, that would affect convenience (the main reason I chose an automatic model). For now it is working properly and I am satisfied, just not ready to comment on long-term durability.

For the price, the finish seems good.

Just the size I need. Covers me well. I've only used it in fairly ordinary weather so far, so I can't say much about how it would behave in a really strong gust. For the price, the finish seems good. Simple enough to carry for work as well as out on the golf course.

The loop on the handle is handy for holding onto it when it's folded.

I spent quite a while comparing umbrellas before deciding on this one. My skin is very fair so I try to limit how much sun I get. I go to work on foot and teach, which means part of my day is spent outside too. This one is light enough to carry comfortably and doesn't tire my hand. The loop on the handle is handy for holding onto it when it's folded. I'd read comments about closing taking some effort. After a few days using mine, I found aiming it toward the ground before pressing the button made folding the canopy easier. You do still have to push the shaft back in by hand once the canopy has closed, but that hasn't been difficult for me. I hold the top and handle and press them together. The underside is black, and being beneath the umbrella feels cooler than standing right out in the sunshine. I haven't had it long enough to give a long term opinion, but for these first few days it's been just what I wanted.

I like the care that seems to have gone into this umbrella.

I like the care that seems to have gone into this umbrella. It gives a good area of cover when open, yet folds small enough to leave in the car without it being in the way. A few details I noticed:- - The oval carabiner handle is enclosed rather than being a hook. I find it comfortable to grip, both when carrying it and when the umbrella is up. - The opening button is easy to find with my thumb. I can operate it without having to fiddle about or reach up into the umbrella. - Opening is smooth and the canopy sits securely once extended. Another press closes the canopy, then I push the telescoping shaft down myself. That last step is simple once you know how it works. - The beige canopy has a black underside, with flexible ribs supporting it closely. The fabric sits neatly across them and the whole thing has a reassuringly solid feel when opened. - The supplied sleeve is handy for keeping it tidy in the car. It is a small inclusion, but useful rather than something I would immediately put aside. Overall, I am impressed with how neatly it has been put together. Nothing particularly flashy, just a useful umbrella with thoughtful details that make it pleasant to use. Worth five stars from me.

Terrance Carson

Still, the handle is solid, and that's why I'd give it four stars.

The material seems thin, with visible needle holes around the stitched fastening area even on a quick look. Still, the handle is solid, and that's why I'd give it four stars. I bought two other umbrellas elsewhere and both arrived with damaged handles, so I do appreciate that the handle on this one feels properly sturdy.

Meghan Briggs

The finish seems good for the money.

I have only had this a short while, so these are fairly early impressions.Used it twice so far, both times in moderate rain and not much wind. The canopy gives me ample coverage and kept the rain off well. Two people could squeeze underneath, though I would see it more as a comfortable umbrella for one. It folds down for carrying, which I appreciate, but once open I find it a little top heavy. My arm notices it after a while. That may simply be the price of having a fairly substantial frame, esp. compared with the smaller umbrellas I am used to. The finish seems good for the money. I can't say much about wind resistance yet. Anyone with limited arm strength might want to consider the balance, but otherwise it is a good umbrella.

Jermaine Larsen

Frame feels firm with good coverage.

Excellent umbrella. Would get another. Frame feels firm with good coverage. Handle button pops it open and draws the canopy shut on the next press. You then compress the telescoping pole to finish packing it. Black looks smart without fuss. That last push does need some strength, so worth considering if your hands are arthritic or you struggle with grip.

Claire Guzman

It was nice to find that in something which folds away.

I've always liked an umbrella that gives decent coverage rather than just a little roof over the top of your head. It was nice to find that in something which folds away. I haven't been out in the rain with it yet, but it feels well made when opened. The beige I picked is very pleasant, and holding it up doesn't leave me struggling to see ahead.

Debra Hoover

Months later it's still doing a great job.

Months later it's still doing a great job. Feels well built and I think the money was well spent. The frame has handled windy use without the canopy flipping over on me. Would certainly recommend. Had to laugh at the packaging though, such a massive box for one folded umbrella. Could have put a whole pile in there, very odd...

Michele Carey

A decent umbrella, just not quite my favourite so far.

Replacing one I left behind (does anyone else manage to leave umbrellas in restaurants?). The button operation is handy and the ribs feel nicely flexible. Material seems a little thinner than my previous one though. A decent umbrella, just not quite my favourite so far.

Damon Benjamin

The beige umbrellas turned out to be just as useful for shade.

We planned for a chilly, wet wedding on the Washington coast in May, so I got these for the wedding party. Instead we had sunshine and a surprisingly hot afternoon. The beige umbrellas turned out to be just as useful for shade. They looked lovely with everyone dressed up and felt nicely put together. I was delighted with how it all worked out. The ladies were happy to take their umbrellas home afterwards.

Back in the bag and ready for next time, excellent buy!

I seemed to be shopping for another umbrella all the time - the old ones never gave me much use. This one feels properly made, and I've come home dry after some very heavy rain, which is the whole point! The ribs have some flex to them (apparently a bit of give is a good thing :) and the handle suits me too.One small wish, the green does pick up visible marks, I'd rather not have to think about cleaning an umbrella. But it is still in such good shape that it seems worth the bother, a damp cloth has done the job for me so far.Back in the bag and ready for next time, excellent buy!

Veronica Floyd

This one gives me decent coverage without being awkward to take along.

This has been a dependable umbrella and I appreciate how neatly it folds up. The automatic opening has worked every time I've needed it.I've carried umbrellas for years and mostly want something I don't have to think about when the rain starts. This one gives me decent coverage without being awkward to take along. The mechanism feels solid, and once it's dry it folds back into a tidy bundle without much fuss. To me that makes it a very worthwhile purchase.

Katrina Sims

We've brought it along on four rainy days so far and it's been handy.

My 2 (and a half) year old wanted an umbrella after seeing us with ours. She is very taken with the gray one, although I handle the button for her. We've brought it along on four rainy days so far and it's been handy. It opens readily and hasn't been heavy for me to hold while we're out. Looking back, i'd be quite happy to buy it again - it has certainly been worthwhile for us!

This folding umbrella has a cheerful pink colour.

This folding umbrella has a cheerful pink colour. opens with a button and the canopy closes the same way. flexible ribs give it a sturdy feel, rain shakes off nicely. comfortable loop handle and enough room underneath. useful for sunshine as well as showers. folds down neatly to take along on everyday outings!

Brendan Donaldson

The build quality is impressive.

The build quality is impressive. Even the finish looks neatly done. It gives plenty of cover when open without staying enormous when folded. I also appreciate the simple loop handle instead of a novelty shape. My 8 year old doesn't need another thing to fiddle with while we're trying to get through the rain.

Travis Manning

Good for rain or a bit of shade.

A really nice umbrella to use. Not much weight to carry, easy to open, and a useful size once it's up. Good for rain or a bit of shade. The materials seem sturdy. The gray is a little more subdued than it looked on my screen, but I like it all the same. That loop handle is handy too.I'm pleased with it.

Larry Mcmillan

A good amount of shelter from a compact umbrella.

Wanted an umbrella I could leave in my backpack without having to baby it. After more than a year of being carried about it still looks sound. Rain and the wind I've encountered haven't bothered it either. The button is handy when I need cover quickly, and closes the canopy just as easily. My backpack gets decent cover too, which is important with things inside I don't want wet. A good amount of shelter from a compact umbrella.

Douglas Patterson

Packed neatly and a nice surprise once opened.

Packed neatly and a nice surprise once opened. There is more cover than I thought there would be! The green is lovely and easy to spot in rainy weather. Only taken it out twice so far, both times the button worked fine. The sleeve is useful for putting it away once dry. Definitely deserves the five stars from me.

Bradley Howell

Very convenient for me.

As a single parent with a baby to carry, I appreciate not having to fight with an umbrella as well. A press opens it, and another press brings the canopy in. The stem still needs pushing down manually afterwards, but there is no little metal catch to jab at. Very convenient for me. I would like a couple more, one by the front door and another to leave in the car.

Ethan Hancock

This is such a solid feeling umbrella.

This is such a solid feeling umbrella. I can actually walk along without spending the whole time wrestling with it. It covers my shoulders and what I'm carrying, not just the top of my head. Wish I'd tried it sooner. Here in the southeast a perfectly normal day can suddenly turn wet, so having it in my bag is REALLY useful. Previous umbrellas have flipped on me so often lol, but this one hasn't done that during my wet walks. Good quality, good value, and it does what I need.

Chad Harvey

I think it is worth considering at a sensible price.

A folding umbrella with its own sleeve, which makes it easier to carry than a full-length one when the rain stops. It fits in a bag, although compact shouldn't be confused with tiny. I'd put it in the everyday showers category, not the sort of storm where rain seems to arrive horizontally. The styling is quite restrained. Beige above and black underneath, with none of the fuss you get on some umbrellas. A sensible object (remember those!) rather than something you need to explain to strangers. The closed oval handle also avoids having a great curved hook sticking out of the bag.I think it is worth considering at a sensible price. It's practical rather than a novelty, which is probably better in the long run. If you're paying a big premium, though, you may be expecting more excitement from an umbrella than an umbrella can reasonably provide... Useful, but not a miracle.

I gave this umbrella to my mother, she uses it a lot for shade and says underneath is much more comfortable than outside. My only request (perhaps the makers will read) is a little more space inside the handle. My mother can use it fine, but with this small change it would be for her the perfect umbrella.

Alyssa Michael

The beige looks lovely and it feels steady in a breeze.

I'm usually the person caught without an umbrella, or carrying some cheap thing that's been lying around for ages. Finally spent a little more on one and I'm really glad I did. The beige looks lovely and it feels steady in a breeze. A little extra width would be nice, but it folds down neatly enough that I actually remember to take it with me.

Christine Hayes

Button works nicely and there's enough cover for everyday showers.

I'm in SE Asia a lot, where rain can turn up out of nowhere, so an umbrella comes along. This fits in my day bag without taking it over. Button works nicely and there's enough cover for everyday showers. For a full monsoon I'd still be reaching for my enormous bin bag though!!

Timothy Meadows

We went through a few before this one.

When we ran our flower shop he was out delivering, so an umbrella had to last. We went through a few before this one. Years later it is still getting used, even though we retired a couple of years back. The frame has held up nicely. Not something we have needed to keep replacing, which matters to us.

Kurt Larson

For what we paid, I honestly can't think of much to grumble about.

For what we paid, I honestly can't think of much to grumble about. My wife was a bit doubtful when I bought it for her, wondering if a reasonably priced umbrella would end up looking and feeling cheap. We've spent more on umbrellas before and I can't see that those were any better put together. She chose this one for the cream white colour, something she could carry with her rainy day things without it looking out of place. It looks nice, but it also works as an umbrella, which is rather the point. I've looked over the edges and the stitching and haven't found anything to complain about. The opening is smooth and it feels properly finished. Not much more I can usefully say, except we're both pleased with the purchase and I don't feel we needed to spend more to get something decent!

Happy Grandson, Happy Me!!!!!!

I ordered this for my nine year old grandson at Christmas, but it was too late for that, so I thought, fine, his birthday is in January. Missed that as well, and it was after his sister's February birthday before he finally had it. After all that waiting...his face!!! He was soooo happy!!! He thinks it looks lovely and the button is his favourite part. He keeps showing the family how the canopy goes up and down, with a little help pushing the shaft back in. It looks quite simple, but to him this is HIS special umbrella, and that's what matters to me. Friends have admired it too and he is very proud to carry it. I was disappointed about the delay, but not about what eventually arrived. Now he actually wants it to rain so he can take it out. Happy Grandson, Happy Me!!!!!!

Joy Phillips

Other than that, we're both happy with it.

Feels solid, looks smart, and my wife and I can squeeze underneath if we're close. Out here in the west there's room to walk--on a packed city sidewalk I'd want to be careful. My petite wife finds the final manual push to shorten it a little firm. Other than that, we're both happy with it.

Dan Norton

Easy to carry and and quite distinctive.

I've seen people grumble about the handle, but I don't think it takes anything away from the look. Easy to carry and and quite distinctive. I'm at school on a big campus in the Northwest and do lots of walking. The loop is handy for carrying it around and I don't find it a burden.

Sonia Novak

It feels pretty solid when the wind gets up.

Holding back a star just because I've only taken it out twice so far. It feels pretty solid when the wind gets up. Looks kinda smart too. Good amount of cover without feeling oversized. I'd be comfortable recommending it, just can't say much yet about how it holds up long term.

Corey Garrison

A nice umbrella, definitely not tiny.

A nice umbrella, definitely not tiny. I had measured out 105cm before ordering, but seeing the canopy open; Whoa, it's wider than I had in my head! Two of us can share if we stay close. Folded, it is still a fairly substantial thing to carry, rather than a pocket sized umbrella. Other than my surprise at the size, a very nice quality item.

Nicolas Turner

Such a pretty umbrella.

Such a pretty umbrella. The Beige looks lovely and my 6 year old was delighted!!!It's a useful size for us(not a tiny toy umbrella). The frame seems good and strong. I help with putting it away, but opening it with the button is easy for me. We are both looking forward to using it more. Would recommend!

Living in Portland means I get plenty of practice with rain and wind.

Living in Portland means I get plenty of practice with rain and wind. The inexpensive umbrellas I bought before would turn inside out in a gust and be no use after that. This one hasn't done that to me. Three years in, it still does what I need and has proved dependable.I stopped at four stars because opening and closing it could be awkward for somebody with weak hands, arthritis for instance. The button handles the canopy, but pushing the shaft down takes some hand strength. Fine for me otherwise. Also, there's enough cover for me, not really enough for me and my sweetheart together. This is actually my second one. I left the first on the bus I take to and from work, so I replaced it with the same umbrella. Would buy it again if I managed to leave this one behind too.

Kristy Nguyen

What a pretty umbrella!

What a pretty umbrella! the blue is just the shade I was hoping for. Haven't owned it long enough to say how it will last, but everything is good so far. Getting it into the sleeve takes a little fiddling, though it goes in if I fold it carefully. I like taking it out on walks, almost an excuse to show it to people :)

Christy Robinson

I've had a smaller umbrella for four years that's still going.

I bought it with sharing in mind, rather than carrying separate umbrellas. The two of us fit if we stand close, which is what I needed. It isn't an enormous canopy, and it would obviously give one person more room, but I like not having something huge to carry. I've had a smaller umbrella for four years that's still going. If this wears as well, I'll be very content keeping it around for just as long.

Patrick Good

Lovely to carry, not quite as lovely to pack away!

What a pretty umbrella, the green looks gorgeous and the shape is lovely. My daughter really likes it, but it takes more force than she expected to compress the shaft after closing the canopy. She keeps saying she wants to love it....just finds that part awkward. Lovely to carry, not quite as lovely to pack away!

Hayley Page

Arrived quickly.

Arrived quickly. Matches the description, and the ribs look flexible rather than stiff and brittle, so i am hopeful about using it on breezy days. The oval handle is slightly tight for my hand, but I appreciate that it can clip onto my bag. The button opens it and closes the canopy neatly. Haven't had any rain to give it a proper outing yet.

Pamela Reyes

My wife has been using this through the wet winter in San Francisco and says it does a great job. It gives her decent cover without having to carry a long umbrella about. The one thing she isn't keen on is where the button sits, as her thumb tends to rest over it when she carries it folded. It hasn't put her off using it and I'd consider getting another for myself.

Eddie Becker

Very good umbrella.

Very good umbrella. I've kept one star back because the whole small/compact/easy-to-carry thing doesn't quite match how bulky it feels. Maybe that extra heft is what makes it feel so substantial, but I'd still prefer less weight and a smaller folded shape. Overall I'm very happy carrying it around. And....it does have a pretty cool look to it!

Jack Kelley

This at least made it manageable.

Rain and wind together made getting back to the car miserable the other day. This at least made it manageable. I had good cover while I fumbled with the door and the umbrella didn't turn over on me. A gust caught the door as I got in, but I kept hold of the handle and it felt steady. It kept most of the wet off me, which was all I could ask. Pressing the button to shut the canopy was a real help.

Bailey Oneal

Does the job in rain too.

My wife takes this along when she golfs in southwest Florida during the summer. Having some shade makes being out in the sun much more comfortable for her; she'd struggle with all that direct sunlight otherwise. There is a noticeable difference standing underneath, even though it's a compact umbrella rather than a big golf one. It feels well built, and she likes being able to open it with one hand using the button. For anyone spending a lot of time outdoors, it's a useful bit of shade to carry. Does the job in rain too.
