I got tired of cheap umbrellas struggling every time a bit of wind came along and decided to spend more on this. Glad I did. It's handled the weather I've met so far and still works after being squeezed into my carry-on, backpack and work bag. A little extra bulk is fine with me if it means carrying something that feels dependable rather than flimsy.
Earl Bradley
It's a good size once opened, but still easy to carry along.
I picked this umbrella for our grandson's birthday and was happy it reached them before his party. It's a good size once opened, but still easy to carry along. I think it will be useful both for showers and a bit of shade when he's at soccer games this spring.
Marc Roberson
I'm pleased to carry it and pleased that I found it.
This feels like the umbrella I had in mind all along. The look of it and the shape of the handle make it a little different, to me anyway. If you're wanting something you don't see everywhere then I think you would enjoy this. I'm pleased to carry it and pleased that I found it.
Brady Burnett
It turned out to be much as presented.
Despite the description,I wasn't entirely sure how substantial this folding umbrella would be in person. It turned out to be much as presented. The push-button action is reliable and the canopy material feels robust. The telescoping section compresses manually after the canopy closes, which is straightforward. A little bulkier to pack than I had hoped, but overall I am satisfied with the construction and operation.
Calvin Weeks
Came neatly packed.
Came neatly packed. The finish is very good and the folded size was right for fitting it diagonally in my luggage..which was the whole idea!Reccomended. My wife likes the pink and it looks smart opened out.The shaft feels solid as well, without making it a big awkward thing to pack away with everything else.
Marc Mcconnell
So far I'm pleased with it.
Fits in my bag easily. It is light enough to take along and gives pleasant shade when the sun comes out. The shaft looks quite slim, although it doesn't feel flimsy when I use it. I wanted something to keep with me on days when rain might turn up. So far I'm pleased with it.

if there's even a hint of rain.
My daughter had this at Easter last year and has hardly left it alone, esp. if there's even a hint of rain. She really likes it. It feels decently made, although putting it back into the sleeve is a bit more fiddly than I'd like. Nothing that stops us using it, just takes a little patience to get it neat again. Overall it's been a useful umbrella and she's happy with it.
Tonya Shepard
It's been handy in ordinary rain.
The button gets it open and gathers the canopy in again, then I shorten the stem myself. The sleeve is the nice surprise. I've had covers that were such a nuisance to fit that I left them off altogether, but this one goes on easily and actually gets used. What more do I need? Well, knowing how it copes in fierce wind would be useful, but I'm not keen to volunteer for that test. It's been handy in ordinary rain. Hope that helps with the practical bits. If there's something else you're curious about, ask and I'll try to add an answer here
Tonya Reid
It looks quite neat in the sleeve.
Needed to replace my umbrella, liked the look of this and the price seemed reasonable so i went for it.It looks quite neat in the sleeve. Putting it back in is a little fiddly unless I've folded everything carefully. Other than that, no issues.I haven't taken it out much yet, but the button opens it and folds the canopy without fuss. Can't really comment on how it behaves in wind as I haven't tried that.
Billy Decker
The construction feels good, which I'd expect at this price.
The construction feels good, which I'd expect at this price. It has been steady in the rain and is easy enough to carry once folded. Don't expect a huge canopy though. There's comfortable cover for one person, but sharing would be a squeeze. Suits my use, just worth knowing if you wanted it for two.
Priscilla Preston
This has become my everyday umbrella.
This has become my everyday umbrella. It's a manageable weight for something that feels this sturdy (I've carried lighter ones, but they felt much flimsier), and it goes in my small tote without trouble. I take it to work daily because a fair part of my commute is on foot. Having a button to put it up quickly is especially useful. The canopy closes just as neatly, then it needs a push to shorten it. The blue looks lovely as well!
Lacey Mclaughlin
It is a good looking umbrella and still seems solidly put together.
I purchased this about five years ago, and it has had fairly light use, perhaps fifteen outings a year. It is a good looking umbrella and still seems solidly put together. My only real gripe is folding the fabric neatly after using it. If the folds aren't lined up it makes a much bulkier bundle than necessary, and I find myself spending more time on that than I'd like. At any rate, I've been pleased with how the frame and canopy have held up. This is light use though, not somebody carrying it out every day. *UPDATE: Taking a moment to smooth the folds before packing it away does help. It is still not the smallest folded umbrella, but the construction seems decent and I expect to keep using it.
Danny Aguilar
The open size suits me without being excessive.
A comfortable, substantial grip is the main thing I notice with this umbrella. I like having one button to raise and collapse the canopy, and the sleeve gives it a tidy finish when put away dry. The open size suits me without being excessive. I've had several umbrellas and usually lose one long before it's worn out - the construction on this gives me no cause for concern.
Cheyenne Barnes
He was delighted!!
Bought one for my brother (hes into medieval history and has real swords etc)and i checked it over first because i didnt want it looking cheap. The frame actually seems pretty sturdy and the oval handle has a distinctive look without being silly. He was delighted!! Now im thinking another for me would be handy too, its useful but still looks a little different
Thomas Mcpherson
I picked it for the looks, and on that front I'm happy.
I picked it for the looks, and on that front I'm happy. However, there was a slightly sharp smell at first. An evening beside the window helped a lot and it is much less noticeable now. Cheers! After trying it in a decent Boston rain, complete with the usual wind, I think it is a reasonably average umbrella. Not amazingly sturdy, but I'm not sure any umbrella is really a match for those sudden gusts. I was careful about which way I held it, keeping the top towards the wind so it couldn't blow up underneath. With that bit of attention it stayed the right way round and nothing broke. So it did the job, though I wouldn't treat it as indestructible.

Sigh, getting attached to an umbrella is a nuisance.
For about ten years I used the same umbrella and got very used to its size and long handle. A windy day by the sea finally finished that one off. I looked around for something like it and ended up choosing this. It isn't quite the same feeling in the hand. The shorter handle takes some getting used to, and I do miss having a little more room around me. On the other hand it folds down neatly and goes into my larger handbag, which matters more often than I thought it would.Sigh, getting attached to an umbrella is a nuisance. The push button is a real help getting out of the car when it's raining. One press and I have cover before stepping right out. I've decided to keep it. For normal rain it's been perfectly useful, even if it doesn't have quite the substantial feel of the old favorite.
Karla Bauer
It does not take a long walk to get soaked.
Where I live, an umbrella is something I want close at hand, not tucked away at home. A dry start to the day does not tell you much about what will happen later, and the rain can be surprisingly heavy. It does not take a long walk to get soaked. For that reason, a folding umbrella that I can keep nearby is useful to me.
The size of this one is practical, both when it is folded and when it is open. What I appreciate most, though, is being able to get it open using the button. Automatic opening is hardly a new invention, but that does not make it any less useful when you need shelter quickly. Mine generally lives on the back seat of the car, where I can reach it before stepping outside. Pressing the button gets it extended and opened without having to fiddle with the canopy while the rain is already coming down. It is a small convenience that makes a noticeable difference in actual use.
I also like the way it handles an ordinary breeze. With some very rigid umbrellas, every gust seems to pull at your arm, and holding them becomes more work than you would expect. The flexible ribs here allow a little movement, which makes this one feel less awkward to control. I am not suggesting that wind stops being a consideration, but I have found it manageable in the sort of rainy weather I normally encounter. The canopy still provides the shelter I need, without that constant impression of wrestling with a stiff sheet of fabric. That is reassuring when you are trying to concentrate on where you are walking.
My reservation is that a few of the fittings feel rather plasticky compared with the more substantial parts. Nothing has given me a problem, but I would be interested to see how those areas wear over time. At this price, I consider that an acceptable compromise rather than a reason to avoid it. Overall, it is a convenient everyday umbrella and represents good value to me.
Caitlin Brock
Happy to recommend it!
I'm a teacher, so I'm outside with the buses at both ends of the school day. Wind has wrecked several umbrellas on that job. This one has been a welcome change, (especially with all the rain we've had this spring!) no turning inside out and no trouble using it. It's been just what I needed for bus duty. Happy to recommend it!
Miranda Kerr
Decent coverage.
Unless you're terribly particular about umbrellas, I can't see much to complain about here. Sturdy frame. Decent coverage. Easy to use. I leave one in the car and keep others at work and home. It isn't an exciting purchase, just a sensible one that's saved me getting soaked.
Kelsey Mccall
Rainy days seem a bit less gloomy with this one.
Rainy days seem a bit less gloomy with this one. The green is cheerful without being loud, and the fabric has a nice substantial feel. A press of the button opens it, and another folds the canopy away. Simple to use and something I'd happily suggest to a friend.
Candice Bauer
A bit of inconvenience, over all I still recommend it.
The size works for me and I really like being able to open it with a button. Press it again and the canopy folds, which is handy when everyone else is still wrestling with theirs. What I don't enjoy is having to push the shaft right back into the handle by hand before it'll open again. That's how this kind works, not something wrong with it, but it is an extra step I could do without. A bit of inconvenience, over all I still recommend it.
Caleb Webster
Will an umbrella persuade the clouds to quit?
Will an umbrella persuade the clouds to quit?Apparently that is asking rather too much. What this one does, is take the rain on its canopy instead of letting it land on me,and I consider that a fair result. The button opening and closing is handy too. Mine's blue, which helps when I'm trying to remember where I left it.
Kenneth Garrison
Good umbrella.
Good umbrella. Only two rainy, windy outings with it so far, so this isn't a long term report. Being a folding one, I wasn't sure how much cover I'd get, but, it's kept me dry. Frame feels substantial without being rigid. I'll add something here if that changes. Worth remembering the button shuts the canopy, not the whole shaft. You push the shaft back down yourself before the next opening. That part is straightforward once you know how it works. So far the whole thing feels well put together and I'm happy to keep using it.

Colours on a screen aren't always much help (yes, lesson learned),…
Colours on a screen aren't always much help (yes, lesson learned), but I managed to read quite a lot into the word Pink too. I expected a quiet, dusty sort of pink, and this looks more like candy pink to me. It's a perfectly good umbrella, just more noticeable than I'd pictured. If you're hoping for something that fades into the background, this wouldn't be the shade I'd suggest.
Max Moses
I bought this to give us some shade when walking with my newborn.
I bought this to give us some shade when walking with my newborn. It gets very sunny in Arizona, and finding an umbrella that looks nice for sunny days wasn't as easy as I thought. I'm glad I found this one. Folding it away needs a little attention .. I use both hands to compress the pole after closing the canopy. The size is convenient to carry, though a bit more shade would be welcome. Overall it has proved useful.
Connor Krueger
The frame looks sound and I like the beige.
I have always preferred a proper amount of cover from an umbrella, and this looks like it will suit me nicely. There hasn't been a rainy day for me to try it yet, so this is only a first impression. The frame looks sound and I like the beige. Held at a comfortable height, the canopy edge doesn't block my view, which was something I wondered about.
Manuel Noble
I'd happily recommend it!
Choosing an umbrella should not take me hours, but apparently it does (yes, I'm that fussy). I nearly passed on this one because the photos made it seem enormous. In person it's a sensible size, not the monster I had pictured (obviously photos aren't much help for scale). The timing worked out because we had a rainy, windy day just after it arrived. I've spent enough walks wrestling with umbrellas to expect a bit of a battle. This one felt much steadier in my hand and I got where I was going without the usual struggle. I wouldn't deliberately take it into anything extreme, but for that wet day it did really well. There's a little more weight to it than I expected from something that folds up. After carrying it a while I stopped noticing, so that hasn't put me off. All that looking around paid off in the end. I'd happily recommend it!
Bonnie Jordan
It really is an "excellent" umbrella!
I live in Seattle, so umbrellas aren't exactly something we leave sitting in a cupboard. Bought this a few years back for hiking, then found myself taking it to work every day as well. It really is an "excellent" umbrella! Mine has NOT blown inside out in the wind. The flexible ribs can bend and then go back to their shape. On sunny hikes it's useful too, that bit of shade makes it much nicer being out in the sun. After several years of getting knocked about, mine still hasn't got much wear to show for it. Would I get another? Well, I already got 3 more - a spare for me, one for my wife, and one as a present for someone who'd just arrived in Seattle. I thought that was something they would get plenty of use out of! It costs a bit extra but I certainly feel I've had my money's worth.

Frame feels sturdy, not flimsy2.
Left my old mini umbrella in a bar and never saw it again. A buddy at work had one of these, so I followed his lead.1. Frame feels sturdy, not flimsy2. Push-button opening is handy, takes a moment to get used to3. Good Value for what you get! I'm happy with the price4. The blue grew on me. Wasn't sure at first, now I actually like it.I keep one in the office, another in the car and one at home. Saves wondering where I've left it.
Levi Clark
this one has a proper button and that LOOP HANDLE!
Normal umbrellas drive me mad; thin little supports, awkward catches, and somehow my fingers always end up in the wrong place. oh, and anything that looks decent seems to cost more than it should... this one has a proper button and that LOOP HANDLE! i noticed that kind of handle on the bus and thought, yes, that's much more my sort of thing.no fiddling with a little catch to get it open. the canopy closes from the button too, then you push the shaft in yourself. i'd give it five stars if the price were a bit lower, because i still think you're paying something for the design. but it works well, feels substantial, and i like carrying something a bit different instead of another boring umbrella.
Mercedes Newton
Overall a good umbrella and a slightly silly romantic present.
My wife and I enjoy a TV show where an umbrella is part of the story, so that gave me an idea for Valentine's Day. I found this pink one at a price I could live with and bought it for her. Not the most elaborate romantic gesture ever, but at least it's useful. It opens out to more cover than its folded size suggests. We can huddle underneath together, although it's definitely a huddle rather than a spacious room for two. For one person it's comfortable. The frame seems substantial and the fabric doesn't have that flimsy, disposable feeling. I haven't tested it in every kind of weather, but in normal rain it has done what we wanted. There's more heft than I expected to carry, which is my one reservation.Overall a good umbrella and a slightly silly romantic present. I tried the button indoors before wrapping it, so if that business about bad luck is true, the responsibility is mine.
Miranda Fry
This has been a welcome change.
I'd had enough of folding umbrellas that twist about while I'm trying to keep dry, so I went looking for something sturdier. This has been a welcome change. Especially handy getting out of the car, just press and it springs open without a lot of fiddling. The pink canopy, black underside and oval handle give it a nice distinctive look too.
Glenn Best
Who gets excited about an umbrella?
Who gets excited about an umbrella? Apparently I DO! It feels well made from the moment you unwrap it, and using it hasn't spoiled that first impression. I ended up buying another to leave in the car. Both the build and the rain coverage have impressed me, including on some properly soaking days.
Darlene Vance
Best to shake the water off first when you can.
I keep a smaller umbrella too, but this one comes along for the walk from the parking lot to work. In Hawaii the rain can arrive while the sun is still shining, so it gets used a lot. It has kept me and my bag dry, and two people can fit if they stay close. I like pressing the button to collapse the canopy before squeezing through a doorway or a narrow gap. Best to shake the water off first when you can. Afterwards I shorten the stem manually to put it away. There's still the question of where to put a dripping umbrella once you're indoors. I haven't found a graceful answer to that bit yet. Somebody work on making the wet part less of a juggling act.
Joann Allen
I commute by train and wanted an umbrella that felt worth keeping.
I commute by train and wanted an umbrella that felt worth keeping. Wind still gives it a tug, but it feels more secure than the cheap little ones I used before. There is some weight to it, so a sensitive wrist might notice that after a while. The canopy is a good size and keeps my shoulders dry. The button is handy for opening it quickly, and for bringing the canopy down afterwards. You do still have to push the shaft back in by hand. Not difficult, just a bit awkward when I am already carrying things and trying to get indoors.
Lawrence Li
There is a good amount of cover when it is open.
This went to my father-in-law for Christmas, and he loved it. It folds, but be aware it isn't one of those tiny pocket umbrellas! There is a good amount of cover when it is open. He may choose something smaller to bring over when visiting us in England, but this should be a very useful everyday umbrella for him!
Kristina Hughes
I let it air dry fully before packing it up.
Had been looking around at umbrellas and decided on this one. The first thing I noticed was how much cover this gorram thing gives for something that folds. It isn't one of those tiny things you forget is in a pocket, but it is a manageable size to carry. The handle is a closed oval loop, which looked a bit different to me at first, and gives my hand a decent grip. Opened out it is roomy for me, though I wouldn't buy it expecting two people to stay completely dry walking side by side. The sleeve makes it neater to put away once it has dried, and I like that it doesn't have to sit loose in my bag. I let it air dry fully before packing it up. The button takes care of opening and bringing the canopy back in; I finish shortening it myself. I was a little wary about how it would feel on windy days here in Chicago, but so far it has been good for the rain I've actually used it in.
Kristy Galloway
This has turned out to be a nice balance.
After getting caught in heavy rain with my son, I wanted something that would fit in my bag but still cover us when I'm carrying him. This has turned out to be a nice balance. It opens to a useful size without being an enormous thing to put away, and the frame feels reassuringly solid. The black is smart and goes with everything. I've only tried it a little so far, but I'm actually looking forward to the next rainy day!
Rhonda Grant
The price seemed good to me, pleased with it up to now.
I went for the blue one and it looks very nice, the shape is a little different from my usual umbrellas. It has quite a feminine look which I like. Haven't had rain to try it properly yet so can't say much about that part. It springs open when you press the button. The price seemed good to me, pleased with it up to now.
Eduardo Olsen
Very nice.
Plenty of room under this, and it has kept me dry in some properly heavy rain. The loop handle is useful too, I find it easy to keep hold of rather than leaving it some where. Very nice. I'm glad to have an umbrella that does the job without much fuss. And the dog in the advertising picture is still adorable, even if that's not the reason to buy an umbrella.
Terri Galvan
Coverage has been good in the rain
Feels like a properly made umbrella. The oval handle sits nicely in my hand and the canopy fabric feels substantial. Coverage has been good in the rain; with smaller ones there's usually some bit of me getting wet...haven't had that issue here. For the price I think it's a good buy. My one niggle was the packing. The plastic around the handle was pulled very tight and a little piece caught in the join above it, which was fiddly to remove. Nothing wrong with the umbrella itself though. Worth considering if wet weather is a regular thing where you live
Janet Levine
Coverage is enough.
Matches the description. Has some weight. Coverage is enough. Been fine in the breezes I have used it in. Fabric sheds the rain well, I leave it spread out to dry before putting away. Happy with it. The loop handle is a little different to hold, took some getting used to. Opens with quite a kick when you press the button, best keep a bit of space
Nicole Hensley
I'd call it a good umbrella for either of us, not just me.
We had a perfectly decent umbrella already, but my wife was always using it, so this was meant to be mine. Guess who has the new one now. I'm back with the old umbrella, which probably tells you how much she likes this one.It feels very solid and has been useful in the windy rain around Chicago. We can share it if we stand close together. I'd call it a good umbrella for either of us, not just me. Now I'm thinking another one might be easier than waiting to get a turn...
Jasmin Haney
Very portable little umbrella!
Very portable little umbrella! I can put it in my purse and not feel as though the whole bag is given over to it. There is a trade-off with that convenience, of course. It gives me enough room, but I wouldn't expect two people to be comfortable underneath, and someone with very broad shoulders might want more cover. A gust has turned it inside out, though it came back into shape when I turned it around and the button still works normally. I think of it as my handy backup rather than the big umbrella I keep in the car for worse weather. Getting it back into the sleeve is a bit of a fiddly job if you haven't folded it neatly. I ordered gray and it looks much as the picture suggested. Happy enough with it for the purpose I bought it for.
Craig Hull
A bit bulky to wrap neatly, but she likes it too much to mind.
My 9 yo granddaughter is delighted with this umbrella, she says the black makes it look grown up. The button is easy enough but she needs help pressing the pole down once the canopy has closed (hopefully that gets easier with practice). A bit bulky to wrap neatly, but she likes it too much to mind.
Gina Chambers
The finish on this umbrella is lovely.
Impressed! The finish on this umbrella is lovely. Fabric has a substantial feel without being rough, and the stitching is much neater than I expected at this price. Looking underneath, all those ribs give it a reassuringly solid feel. It opens promptly with the button, and after use a quick shake gets most of the water off before I put it away. Closing the canopy is another button press; I then shorten the telescopic section myself. What really sold me is the oval carabiner handle. It clips to a bag rather than leaving me carrying an extra thing, such a sensible idea. Everything feels well thought out, from that handle to the way it folds together. Already thinking of ordering another couple. Very happy with it and would certainly recommend.
Donald Cortez
Kept her dry and still looked great afterwards.
My girlfriend had mentioned wanting a cream white umbrella, so I started looking for one that would be more than just nice to look at. Some I found online didn't seem very substantial. This one looked like a better bet after I read the reviews, and thankfully it was. I gave it to her and she absolutely loved it, which was what I was hoping for. We had a spell of rain a few days later so it wasn't waiting around long for a proper test. Kept her dry and still looked great afterwards. I'd def recommend it.
Cynthia Cantu
Very happy with how it looks and feels.
The pink on this umbrella makes me smile - something cheerful when the sky is miserable. It's a lovely simple colour and goes with more of my clothes than I expected. There is plenty of cover for me underneath, and the fabric feels substantial. Very happy with how it looks and feels. Another colour is rather tempting ...
Hayden Sandoval
not a great big thing to haul around.
I wasn't completely convinced when I ordered it. At this price I did wonder, "Will it actually be any good?" Turns out it is. Opens reliably, doesn't feel a burden to carry, and handled the wet, blustery weather we just had without any trouble. A decent amount of cover for me...not a great big thing to haul around. Money well spent.
Debbie Weaver
No odd tint here (small victory!
1) The black was what I expected from the pictures, which was a relief because online colours can be a gamble. No odd tint here (small victory!).2) Getting it back in the sleeve wasn't the wrestling match I'd imagined. I take a moment to straighten the folds first, and it slides in quite nicely. The button closes the canopy, then I shorten the pole myself before putting it away.3) Two outings so far, plus a couple of days being buried in my ridiculously full tote, and everything is still fine. I am NOT treating this like a piece of armour (apparently my bag thinks it's a battlefield), but it doesn't need babying either. Taking a few seconds to pack an umbrella isn't exactly a hardship. Who needs to be finished before they've even started??4) For what I paid I'm delighted. Nice looking, works as it should, and fits into my usual mess without being another huge thing to lug about. Definitely one I'd suggest to a friend.
