This umbrella gives me a patch of shade I can take along...
Living in Los Angeles, I get more sun than I really want. I'm very sensitive to it and can feel faint when I'm out too long, even when I've kept putting sunscreen on. This umbrella gives me a patch of shade I can take along...and I actually use it! I've had more than one and they've lasted well. One was taken at airport security coming back from the Dominican Republic, which was frustrating. I'll think more carefully about packing next time. Handy when it rains too.

It is good at keeping the rain off.
When closing, the canopy comes in with the button but the shaft must be pushed in by hand. At first I expected it all to go down. Now it is easy enough. It is good at keeping the rain off. Also, folding the fabric neatly is a little fiddly. The opening is quite strong, so I keep it clear of people before pressing.
Judith Novak
The umbrella looks well made.
The umbrella looks well made. beige, like the picture. I wasn't happy to see the outer parcel torn, though the umbrella itself was fine. My five stars are for what I bought, not the wrapping. That part was disappointing and I would rate it very differently on its own.
Brad Middleton
Very pleased with what I got for the money!!
The inexpensive umbrella I ordered has arrived and feels really sturdy. I needed one after losing mine, read through the reviews, and decided on this. Very pleased with what I got for the money!! Pushing the shaft back down takes a little effort, but I don't mind doing that!
Frederick Buchanan
Oh, this is good.
Oh, this is good. I'd read about umbrellas that fold the other way and ones that feel too heavy. This one is comfortable to carry! It folds in the usual direction, just use the button to gather the canopy and press the shaft down by hand. Nothing strange about it. I use an umbrella often, so this feels like a sensible purchase.
Courtney Mosley
I haven't really bought a "proper" umbrella before this one.
I haven't really bought a "proper" umbrella before this one. It was a Christmas present for my wife and she's very pleased with it. She keeps it in her car or carries it in her purse. The button opening and canopy closing are quite nifty, and the blue looks smart. I'd certainly suggest it to others and might end up getting one for myself as well.

There is good coverage and it doesn't weigh my arm down.
Crossing busy parking lots is part of nearly every grocery run, errand and trip to the bus for me. I wanted something comfortable to carry along with everything else. The cream white is nice and noticeable on a gloomy day, although I'm still watching out for cars! There is good coverage and it doesn't weigh my arm down. I wasn't sure about the oval handle at first, but it's easy to keep hold of while carrying my shopping. It isn't a tiny folded umbrella, so I put it in the sleeve and into my larger bag once I'm indoors. Much less awkward than walking around with a full length one, and I'm glad it feels so light!
Misty Olson
Coverage is good for my needs, though it is not an enormous umbrella.
The loop handle gives me a decent grip and sits comfortably in my hand. I like the way the opening button is placed too, easy to reach without shifting my hold much. Coverage is good for my needs, though it is not an enormous umbrella. For the price I think the construction makes it a worthwhile purchase.
Kylie Greer
Takes some effort when you're trying to get out of the rain.
Size is good -- plenty of cover over me, yet a manageable shape to put in my bag once folded. Only gripe is packing it away -- the button shuts the canopy, then you still have to compress the shaft yourself. Takes some effort when you're trying to get out of the rain.
Fernando Acevedo
Nice umbrella and now there's two of us enjoying one.
Second one I've ordered. Had mine a few months, my best friend liked it so much she got one from me for her birthday. Both pleased with them. The size gives good cover and that button makes it quick to put up when rain catches you. Nice umbrella and now there's two of us enjoying one.
David Banks
It arrived earlier than I had expected, which was a nice surprise!
Only giving my first impressions for now, rather than saying how it performs in the rain. It arrived earlier than I had expected, which was a nice surprise! The umbrellas look smart and seem quite well put together. I like the closed loop handle, it seems a practical shape for carrying. I'll add more once we've actually had them out regularly, since that will tell us much more about how they hold up. They are intended for everyday use here.
Jerry Mueller
Decent coverage and easy enough to use.
This was a present for my fiance after a successful martial arts test. It's a nice looking umbrella that actually works properly too, not just something to admire. Decent coverage and easy enough to use. He carries it on the bus...likes having that unusual oval handle to hang onto.
Maureen Lambert
A smart looking umbrella that feels sturdy too.
A smart looking umbrella that feels sturdy too. It covers me well without needing to steer a huge canopy round everybody else. The appearance is a nice change from the usual forgettable umbrella. Pressing the handle button to open it is handy. It closes the canopy that way as well, although pushing the shaft in afterwards does take a firm hand. That's my only little grumble. Overall it's been a great choice!
Cameron Grant
The umbrella feels light and and looks different.
I know the handle looks a little unusual but I don't think that spoils the style at all. The umbrella feels light and and looks different. I walk across a large Northwest campus for school, so it's handy to have the loop to hold onto when it's folded and I'm carrying it between buildings.

I ordered this one for him.
We've recently moved somewhere my husband has a decent walk to the subway every day, and with the frequent rain an umbrella was becoming necessary. I ordered this one for him. We haven't had a proper rainy day to try it out yet, but opened up it seems a useful size for covering him and his work clothes (he's 6'1. I wouldn't expect it to keep every bit of his shoes dry in blowing rain though. His one reservation is that even folded it takes more space than he'd like to carry back and forth when the weather is fine. He may try something smaller for travelling, but the construction feels good and it isn't difficult to operate. If you want decent coverage in an umbrella that still folds away, it looks like a good option!

Would have saved me the little surprise :)
I wanted a cute compact umbrella and my first reaction when I took this out was wait-this-is-the-small-one? It isn't enormous, but it has more presence in my bag than I had imagined. I suppose that's the trade off for getting a canopy that actually covers you instead of just the top of your head. Someone wanting their hair and handbag under cover will probably appreciate that more than I do, I mostly chose it because I liked the look. It seems nicely put together (although I've only taken it out in light rain so far) and I'm happy enough with it. The gray is a little darker than I had pictured, I was expecting something paler, but it's still a nice colour. I'd check the folded length against whatever bag you plan to use, rather than assuming compact means tiny. Would have saved me the little surprise :)

For the money this was an excellent buy.
Better than I had expected by a long way. For the money this was an excellent buy. Honestly don't think you can go far wrong with it. Arrived quickly too. Feels good quality, gives a decent amount of cover and is convenient to take along.Great purchase, I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a compact umbrella

My inner gothic lady approves.
My inner gothic lady approves. Not a frilly costume parasol, but a delightful little umbrella with a quiet elegance of its own. As someone who enjoys a steampunk look, I find it rather charming just sitting in the room. Demure, useful, and money happily spent.P.S. Sometimes the practical thing can be the thing that makes you smile too

Not a fault, just worth knowing before you buy.
Very happy with the umbrella and the push button opening & canopy closing. One point for older hands: PLEASE NOTE the button doesn't shorten the shaft for you. That part is done by hand, and you must push it right down until it clicks before opening it again. It needs a fairly firm push. I close the canopy first, hold the handle steady, then press the top down until the shaft locks in place. I'm 60 and still reasonably strong, so I can manage it, but someone with painful or arthritic hands could find that bit hard work. Not a fault, just worth knowing before you buy.

Simple canopy, oval loop handle, nothing fussy.
If your usual look is decidedly uncoordinated, this beige umbrella may make you seem surprisingly put together. Simple canopy, oval loop handle, nothing fussy. It is SO much more sensible looking than my usual stuff that carrying it makes me laugh a little. Properly useful too, with a reassuringly solid feel.

I can easily see myself misplacing the sleeve though.
Back in 2013 I carried a beige unbrella for about six months, then managed to leave it behind somewhere. This looked like a similar replacement, though the construction feels a little less substantial (a 7 where the old one was a 9).It does what I need and is better than the really cheap umbrellas that make you worry about people's eyes whenever a gust catches them,Not bad overall and it packs down quite neatly. I can easily see myself misplacing the sleeve though. Once it's off there's no handy way for me to attach it somewhere while the umbrella is open, so it becomes another loose thing to keep track of. That's the main nuisance with carrying it around.
Rachel Baxter
It's nice not having to tuck myself in so much.
The canopy gives me a decent amount of room, I don't get wet shoulders like I did with smaller umbrellas i've had. It's nice not having to tuck myself in so much. My one niggle is the handle, I'd prefer slightly more space for my hand, but otherwise I'm happy with how it does the job.
Shawna Holden
Good umbrella, does what I expected of it.
Good umbrella, does what I expected of it. My only thought is that the open size still feels fairly generous on a crowded sidewalk. Living and working in Manhattan means I wanted to stop fencing with everyone else's umbrella on the way past. This is much handier folded than the big one I used before, although open it's roomy for me and a squeeze if two try sharing. The 105cm figure describes the open width, and it packs down to about 40cm. Anyway, i like it and am happy with the choice!

Bought two of these and overall I am satisfied with them.
Bought two of these and overall I am satisfied with them. We were watching a soccer game when the wind and rain got going and I was glad we'd brought them along. Mine kept its shape and I stayed dry underneath, which was more than I expected looking at some of the umbrellas around us. You do have to hold onto it properly when a gust catches the canopy, it still pulls at your hand despite keeping its shape. The build feels decent and I haven't needed to fuss with it. The thing stopping me giving five stars is that I expected more room under it. It's fine just for me, but I wouldn't want to rely on it to cover two people standing together. A useful umbrella all the same, just not as large as the one I had pictured.
Autumn Norton
Also managed the wind without trouble.
It does the job as expected. Put straight into use because it was raining here when it came and it worked very well. Also managed the wind without trouble. Before coming back into the house I shook the water off outside, and there were no drips left on the floor.
Shawn Beasley
Feels solid and it's so easy to open haha.
I'm really liking this umbrella haha. Feels solid and it's so easy to open haha. I'd choose the same one again next time I need one. I'm really liking this umbrella haha. Feels solid and it's so easy to open haha. I'd choose the same one again next time I need one.

It has a nice understated look, and it's been good in the rain.
After using mine, I picked up another as a gift for a friend. Who says a useful umbrella can't look smart as well? It has a nice understated look, and it's been good in the rain. One press springs it open; another gathers the canopy before I push the shaft in. I always feel I made a good choice when I take it out.
Johnathan Lopez
I would happily recommend it.
Very pretty in person. The green is a lovely color and looks just like the picture. I purchased this for my granddaughter and she is delighted with it. It is a handy size folded up but gives her plenty of cover when open, so I am pleased with the choice. The button is easy to use and the whole thing looks nicely made. I would happily recommend it.

Much better umbrellas than I was expecting.
Much better umbrellas than I was expecting. Very good value for the price and I would tell anyone to get them. They feel well made, open easily and give a useful amount of cover. Among the nicest folding umbrellas I've had.Haven Compact Umbrella with Automatic Canopy Opening and Closing

Really useful umbrella.
Really useful umbrella. It isn't a burden to carry (I notice the button mechanism makes it feel more substantial, but that's a trade I'm happy with), and it fits in my larger purse or tote. I bring it to work because part of my journey is on foot. The button action is quick and convenient when I need shelter on the walk. The frame has felt dependable on breezy walks, and the pink is pretty too!

Looks like the photos.
Looks like the photos. My son has just had his fifth birthday and has wanted his own umbrella for ages. It stays in the car beside him so it is ready when it rains. He is delighted with it and can manage the button himself. Everything was packed nicely and it turned up when expected.
Kelli Butler
Definitely worth replacing!
Living on a university campus means walking nearly a mile to class in the rain some days. I chose this one for the coverage and the push button, and I LOVE how convenient it is! Collapsing the canopy quickly at the door is a real help when I'm already running late. Once packed down, it goes straight into my backpack instead of being another thing to carry around all day. I managed to lose mine last week and have already bought another. Definitely worth replacing!

For keeping in the car, this is a handy umbrella to have.
For keeping in the car, this is a handy umbrella to have. I do think it is rather expensive for a compact, but the quality seems good and it is a sensible size for one person. Sharing would mean getting quite close together! Folded, it is easy to tuck away without taking over the passenger side. The finish looks smart too.The only frustration was the delivery. It was sent out promptly, then spent NINE days getting to me. This was just before Christmas, so I suspect the busy post was more to blame than the dispatch. Still, it arrived a couple of days after I had hoped to have it. I like the umbrella itself, but if you need one for a gift around the holidays, I would leave extra time for it to get there.
Yesenia Cannon
I like how simple it looks rather than anything fussy.
The cream white looks lovely, a clean, elegant colour that makes a wet day feel a little less gloomy. I like how simple it looks rather than anything fussy. My one small gripe is having to straighten the folds a bit when putting it away, but I'm happy with it.
Tommy Livingston
The fabric gives it a pretty finish.
I used the Cream White canopy as a base for a carousel style top above the candy table at a reception. Added painted details to alternate panels and was very happy with how it looked. The fabric gives it a pretty finish. Lovely for this sort of decorating project, which is exactly why I chose it.
Donald Walls
The important thing is he's happy!
Quite a cute umbrella, though a little more substantial than I'd pictured. My nephew asked for his own so this was his Christmas present. He was delighted, but he's all action so we'll see how carefully he treats it. For the price I'd still recommend it.The important thing is he's happy!

It opens promptly and folds up neatly for storage.
Works as I hoped - a useful-sized canopy without having to carry a full-length umbrella. It opens promptly and folds up neatly for storage. The frame feels substantial, and the sleeve makes it easier to pack away. I've had a similar folding umbrella previously, so this is a familiar, practical choice for me.
Stacey Barron
Who says a rainy day can't be improved by a nice umbrella?
For my mum, who normally loves anything with cats on it, I picked this instead and she has been delighted. It folds neatly enough for her roomy handbag, then springs open to give her a proper amount of cover. The green looks lovely, and the slip-on sleeve helps keep handbag fluff off it while it's put away. Once the top has closed, she just pushes the shaft in to finish. Who says a rainy day can't be improved by a nice umbrella?
Angelica Archer
Having his own umbrella was a big deal.
My grandson unwrapped this at Christmas and was so happy with it. Having his own umbrella was a big deal. The button is easy for him to manage and he carried it around all afternoon. He's just 4 years old, so I wasn't sure how interested he'd be, but it was a real hit.
Yolanda Bennett
The frame looks solid and the button works as it should.
I haven't tried it in rain yet, so this is just from unpacking. The frame looks solid and the button works as it should. For the price I was expecting slightly softer material; it makes quite a rustling sound. Still, it folds up neatly into its sleeve and overall I think it's a decent umbrella.
Alyssa Buchanan
The fabric and the ribs seem sturdy and the whole umbrella looks good.
The cover fits two adults if standing close together, not much extra on either side. The fabric and the ribs seem sturdy and the whole umbrella looks good. The downside is the weight in the hand, around 390g, which feels more than I expected for this folded size. The middle section looks fairly solid when opened. For how long it can be used I cannot say, having used only a little before. Lastly there was a smell on opening it, but leaving it opened in a place with air passing through reduced it a lot. So far it has been useful.
Parker Bailey
u dont need a giant umbrella for that.
i spent ages comparing umbrellas for something worth the money. a few reviews had me wondering if water would come through. used mine in the rain yesterday and my clothes were fine. 1-it gives me enough cover without being huge and 2-NO water coming through the fabric. u dont need a giant umbrella for that. pleased i picked this one.
Pamela Jennings
I hope it stays with me for quite a while yet.
I've kept this umbrella for about two years now and it has made a useful backup. Small enough for my purse, though not so tiny or light that you can't tell it is there. I take it when rain looks possible and don't want to carry a long umbrella about. The button opening is convenient, especially when I have other things in my hands. It has been out in some wind, carefully, but I wouldn't make a habit of testing any compact umbrella that way. For an all day outing or travelling it is a sensible compromise. It looks quite ordinary folded up and I didn't expect to be particularly attached to it. After the North-Eastern weather it has seen, though, I have to admit it has earned its place. I hope it stays with me for quite a while yet.
Billy Ferguson
All very serious considerations, obviously.
At last, a pink umbrella, because apparently rain has been waiting for a suitable colour before it could fall on ladies. My three sisters have admired my umbrellas for years, but naturally there were complications. The eldest has tired wrists from knitting and treats anything bulky as a feat of strength. The middle one wouldn't dream of carrying something that might be mistaken for a gentleman's umbrella. And the youngest...well, a button is a much more civilised arrangement than expecting a lady to wrestle with opening one. All very serious considerations, obviously. Joking aside, the compact size is useful, the pink is nice, and pressing a button really is convenient. A perfectly good umbrella, even without dividing the weather into his and hers.
Hailey Lozano
I was quite harsh about this umbrella at first.
I was quite harsh about this umbrella at first. The Cream White looked a little different from what I'd expected, and there was a cupboard sort of smell - not pleasant - when I unpacked it. I wasn't especially happy. After getting a helpful reply from the seller I left it open to air, rather than judging it straight away. That made a difference, the smell went and the colour looks nicer in daylight too. They were polite and took my concern seriously, which I appreciated. The umbrella itself opens neatly and has been fine in the rain. I wouldn't give the unpacking experience five stars, but my overall opinion is much better now. Keeping it and quite happy to use it.

Great in a heavy shower.
Great in a heavy shower. The black is plain but still looks smart, not dreary. If you appreciate a simple style, this should appeal. The oval handle adds a small point of interest without needing artwork or a busy design all over the canopy. People notice that shape.
Jackie Zamora
The umbrella itself works fine and covers me well.
The outer box is bigger than I expected for ONE umbrella. I flattened it for recycling and used the packing paper to wrap things in the cupboard. That dealt with the bulky pile instead of leaving it lying around. The umbrella itself works fine and covers me well.
Steven Browning
The operation is all normal.
The operation is all normal.
The button responds immediately, but a few points remain.
look at it when folded:
It is longer than expected for putting in a small bag, with noticeable weight as well; from the other side, the amount paid is quite reasonable for the construction.

It often ends up beside him at bedtime.
My 2-year old son suddenly decided an umbrella was something he absolutely had to have. The one we'd tried before didn't survive a week, so I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this. Nothing fancy about it, but it seemed reasonably priced and looked sturdy enough for us to use together. Well, we've had it for - I think it's three or four months now - and it's still in very good shape. He wants it out for everything, not just rainy weather. Sunshine, the sprinkler, even getting ready for bed apparently all call for an umbrella. It often ends up beside him at bedtime. For an umbrella I wasn't expecting to last long, it's been a very nice surprise.
Leon Meyer
in really hard wind I've had to lower it a couple of times.
The reviews convinced me to try this and it has served me well over several years. I wouldn't expect it to beat every gust; in really hard wind I've had to lower it a couple of times. For normal wet weather it has been very reliable. Fits in my backpack nicely, so I'm not forever leaving my umbrella behind because it's awkward to bring.
