Bought this as a present & she was so pleased. Her reaction was "I've wanted one of these for ages & finally have my own!" I have one too & really appreciate how little room it takes folded, then how lovely it looks opened out. Handy to bring when rain seems possible, but also nice for a bit of shade on bright days sitting in the bleachers watching a game, etc. I like having something practical that still has a little flair!

Here in California we were all praying for rain.
Here in California we were all praying for rain. My Daughter has 4 boys, and I picked out umbrellas for them so they could enjoy it when it finally came. They were so excited when we had several wet days together. This one got carried around outside with great enthusiasm, and they had such fun splashing about under their umbrellas. Has held up well with boys ages 4 to 11. Such lovely memories with my Grandsons!

(The handle stays outside the pocket).
I picked this out for an 8 year old girl who needed an umbrella for school. Was a bit dissapointed with how it fitted in her backpack side pocket. It folds up, but between the folded length and the oval loop handle it still sticks up quite a way. (The handle stays outside the pocket). I thought compact meant it would tuck down further. That said, she likes it and the button is easy enough for her to use. It has kept her dry, which really was the point of buying it.

Absolutely worth the money in my opinion!
There is a LOT more room under this than I expected from a folding umbrella. Really good cover for one person, and it feels strong when the rain comes with a breeze. I'm impressed by how solid it is without being awkward to take along. Absolutely worth the money in my opinion!

For the price this umbrella gives a lot.
For the price this umbrella gives a lot. There is enough room for me in proper rain, even someone beside me if we keep close, and the green stands out from the usual colours. The material seems good also.Only complain from me is the folded length, it is longer than i thought it would be, anyway it still stores neatly enough at home so that part is manageable.
Allen Dalton
It looks nice and gives her plenty of room underneath.
My daughter is delighted with it - to be fair, an umbrella of almost any kind would probably have made her happy. It looks nice and gives her plenty of room underneath. The button is easy enough, but she needs help pushing the shaft back down after the canopy closes. Not a big problem, just something I hadn't considered. For using together on rainy days it's been a good purchase overall.

I like the closed oval handle too.
Rain in downtown Philadelphia is one thing, the air getting funnelled between those big buildings is another. I've had enough walks where keeping an umbrella over my head takes more attention than the walk itself. Took a chance on this one and it has been a very good surprise. The pink is cheerful without looking loud, and it's nice to spot yours among all the dark umbrellas. I like the closed oval handle too. It feels solid in my hand and the whole thing looks nicely put together. But the real reason I'm happy with it is how it behaves outside. On wet, blustery walks the canopy has kept its shape, including when umbrellas near me were turning backwards. Much less wrestling with it than I expected. There is one thing I'd point out, though, and it hasn't cost it a star. When a stronger gust catches that open canopy you still get a definite tug at your hand. Keeping its shape doesn't make that force disappear! Having my fingers through the handle gives me a secure hold, and it hasn't got away from me. Someone with a weaker grip might find that pull worth considering. I'm not saying I'd take it out in anything, just that for the city rain I've actually used it in, it's been excellent.

Having shade with me makes such a difference.
My skin is very pale and catches the sun ridiculously quickly. Sunscreen on its own doesn't do enough for me when I'm out for more than a few minutes. Having shade with me makes such a difference. This fits into my bigger handbag or tote, so I can take it along rather than hoping there's somewhere shady to stand.

Came home dry, so I'm pleased.
First proper outing for this umbrella today. When I opened it I wasn't convinced it would handle much breeze, because it seemed quite light in my hand. Turns out I needn't have worried! It dealt with the wind during my walk without turning over, and I didn't find myself fighting to hold it steady. Came home dry, so I'm pleased.

There's something quite romantic about carrying it in the rain.
Had to get another after my first one went missing, and I like this one just as much. There's something quite romantic about carrying it in the rain. Now I just need some more rain to arrive (one wet week and then nothing...the weather has forgotten its job). The frame hasn't flipped on me so far and a push of the button gets it open, which is a big help when you're a student with your arms full of books.

Good weight to it.
came quick. Smart looking . Good weight to it. Canopy opens and shuts quickly with the button. The sleeve fits once you have the fabric tucked in neatly, which i dont always manage first go. Nice oval handle to put your fingers round rather than pinching a skinny bit of metal. Feels comftable ou can get a proper hold. Can see it getting plenty of use.

their general response seems to be, "Umbrella?
I carry it around the university and students occasionally ask about the handle. The loop looks unusual, so I show them how it opens and that's usually that.It works nicely, though the grip took a little getting used to. I pass the university police office regularly too; their general response seems to be, "Umbrella? Fine, keep walking"

I'd be happy to consider the same make again.
I had imagined a bigger canopy, so the size was a little disappointing. My mistake though - I should have looked more closely at what I was choosing. The quality seems good and the blue is just what I wanted (it was for a gift). There is room for one person, but I wouldn't call it a sharing umbrella. I'd be happy to consider the same make again.

It came securely packed and in perfect condition.
It came securely packed and in perfect condition. Bought for my husband to leave in his car, since we like having an umbrella in each vehicle. More than I'd usually spend on one, but it feels nicely made and looks as pictured. He is pleased with it and I'd be comfortable recommending it.

I seem to collect umbrellas whenever the weather catches me out.
I seem to collect umbrellas whenever the weather catches me out. Around here, a little rain and suddenly somebody is selling them on every corner. Those cheap purchases are handy at the time, but I never feel I can rely on them for very long. Judging by the trash cans afterward, I'm not alone. This feels better suited to regular city use -- it packs down reasonably small and doesn't take over the sidewalk when opened. There's more support to the canopy, too. A little heavier in my bag than the emergency ones, which is my only real reservation. I can't predict how long any umbrella will last, but this seems worth keeping rather than treating as another one-day purchase.

- The handle sits comfortably in my hand.
Arrived today, so I've only had a chance to open it up and try it out a little. Rain or sleet is forecast for tomorrow and I'll add more when it's been outside properly. First impressions for now.- The outer packaging was dented but the umbrella itself was fine.- It was bagged up with its own sleeve, which it goes back into without much fuss.- The handle sits comfortably in my hand. I'm an average sized man (6'9" and 189lbs), just to give an idea.- There's a button that opens it and folds the canopy down again. You then push the telescoping section down yourself to get it packed away.- Folded up, the length isn't awkward to carry around.- Open, there is decent room over me and probably another person if I'm feeling generous and we stand close together.- I waved it about quite hard to see how much give there was. The ribs flexed and everything looked straight afterwards, although that doesn't tell me what a real gust will do. Overall it feels solid rather than flimsy and the opening action is positive. Nothing has had a proper soaking yet, so this is only the looking it over part. I'll come back after some actual rain.

Money well spent.
My daughter wanted something she could manage while carrying her cello on her back. The canopy gives her decent cover without needing a huge umbrella, and she finds the button handy with the case on. It folds away afterwards instead of being another long thing to carry. Money well spent.

Very pleased with it and hoping for years of use!
Finding an umbrella I actually wanted to carry to outdoor events wasn't easy! Here in Florida, a sunny afternoon can still include an unexpected shower. Once everyone puts their umbrellas up, it gets crowded fast, and I try to be mindful of the people around me. This one gives my upper body good cover without feeling like I'm carrying some enormous contraption. The button is handy when the rain catches me by surprise, and the frame feels reassuringly sturdy. I still watch where the edges are when people are close by. Very pleased with it and hoping for years of use!

My son is very taken with this umbrella.
My son is very taken with this umbrella. A nice size for him to hold, and he likes being able to pop it open with the button. I help push the shaft back in afterwards. He keeps asking when it'll rain again. Seems well made, though I'm not letting it become an everyday toy..
Roger Hensley
both times it did what I needed and kept me dry.
A little heavier than I expected, but it does feel more substantial for it.I've only had it out twice up to now so can't say much about long term use. both times it did what I needed and kept me dry. Haven't had a windy day to try it on yet. I'll keep using it and see how it goes, but first impressions are good.

The blue looks lovely, and this has been a handy umbrella to have.
The blue looks lovely, and this has been a handy umbrella to have. It opens without a struggle and gives me plenty of cover. The frame feels solid even on breezier days. My only small gripe is that I have to take a moment arranging the folds before it goes away neatly. Otherwise I am satisfied with it and would get another.
Catherine Bauer
It was a useful surprise and felt like good value for a gift.
I chose this as a gift for my boyfriend's mum, who gets a lot of damp, foggy weather on her walks. She likes the gray and says it feels sturdy without being tiresome to carry. There's room for her and her husband if they stay close together. It was a useful surprise and felt like good value for a gift.

A good everyday umbrella
This is my second umbrella in this style after getting years of use out of the last one. We are in the pacific northwest and umbrellas get plenty of work here. Mine goes along when I take the kids down to the morning bus. There is enough cover for me, or one child tucked in beside me, not the whole bus stop. It feels solid and has stayed the right way round in the rain. A good everyday umbrella

Nothing fancy about the finish, just a neatly made umbrella.
The delivery estimate when I ordered suggested a fairly long wait. Mine turned up in about ten days, so that was a pleasant surprise (I'd prepared to wait much longer.) I wasn't sure what to expect from the construction, as the listing didn't tell me a great deal. It feels solid in person, with plenty of support under the fabric, although I haven't tried it in really rough wind. The blue is close to what I saw on screen. Nothing fancy about the finish, just a neatly made umbrella. The button works well for opening it and gathering the canopy again.

Sideways rain in San Francisco is such a pain.
Sideways rain in San Francisco is such a pain. This one has handled the gusts I've been caught in without flipping, AND I can tuck my purse underneath with me. It's a little bulky to have along on the train, even folded, but I'll take that over getting soaked. I still have to angle it when the rain swings around downtown. A very useful bit of black shelter!
Krystal Boyer
For an umbrella, anyway.
Our son had this for Christmas and was so keen to take it out when rain finally came. The blue looks cheerful and it feels fairly sturdy compared with the little umbrellas we've had before. For an umbrella, anyway. Slightly bulky folded, but it's nice seeing him so happy to carry it and people do smile at him.

Quite impressed by how practical this umbrella is.
Quite impressed by how practical this umbrella is. It is not a nuisance to carry around, and the loop handle sits comfortably in my hand. The opening action took a little getting used to, mostly because I kept reaching for a catch that I didn't need. When I'm carrying something like a pizza, having one button to put the umbrella up is certainly appreciated. Basically it handles the ordinary job well! I haven't put it through every possible sort of weather, but in the rain I've used it in, it has earned its place. Getting into the car is easier too: I can collapse the canopy with the button beside the door, then push the shaft back down by hand afterwards. It is a small thing, but a useful one. Considering the price, it seems a worth while purchase. Don't spend more money just because you want something good.
Melvin Woodward
Feels sturdy as well as roomy for a folding umbrella.
my girlfriend and i wanted an umbrella to share (neither of us is very big). We can stand close together under this without our outside shoulders sticking out. There isn't masses of spare space, but it does what we needed. Feels sturdy as well as roomy for a folding umbrella. I'd recommend it if you're after something two slim people can use.
Savannah Padilla
Easy enough to carry and suited to our rain.
I nearly let the mixed comments put me off; but, ordering four worked out well for the price.Am VERY impressed now they're here. Easy enough to carry and suited to our rain.We rarely get much wind locally, so I can't speak for that side, but for everyday use they're doing great!
Christina Dunn
I'd happily recommend it!
The box looked pretty battered when this arrived, so I was worried about what I would find inside. Thankfully the umbrella itself was fine - opened it straight away to check, and everything felt solid. It's really attractive, much nicer than I expected for something I mainly wanted for practical use! It folds away neatly and the frame feels substantial once it's open. A rough-looking package can make you doubt a purchase before you've even tried it, but the actual umbrella has left me with a very good impression. I'd happily recommend it!
Alexandria Russo
Also the button works nicely.
I love how solid this feels, even if it's a little long to squeeze into my smaller bag. Around NYC it has been a very useful umbrella. DEFINITELY recommend it!The sleeve is handy for putting it away, and that closed oval handle gives you somewhere proper to hold on (not a big walking stick hook, thankfully). The frame looks impressive when you open it up too, lots of ribs and a good even shape. I haven't put it through some ridiculous wind machine test, just actual rainy walks, and it's made those much less of a hassle. Also the button works nicely. Worth having!

A very good find--after getting fed up with umbrellas folding…
A very good find--after getting fed up with umbrellas folding backwards or giving up in the wind, I tried this one--only one outing so far, but it was properly wet and windy-that was enough to appreciate the cover, I stayed dry and it didn't feel as though I was fighting it

For what I paid I am very happy.
Coverage is a little less than I would get from a full-size golf umbrella, but the easier carrying is exactly why I wanted this one. It fits down the side of my golf bag without taking over the whole thing, and the loop handle is useful for hanging it on the bag instead. The sleeve keeps it together and stops it rubbing directly against the other things I carry. The canopy opens and folds at a press, and so far that has worked very well. It is one of those things I hope not to need, but don't mind taking along. For what I paid I am very happy. I might have thought twice at a much higher price, but this feels like good value to me.
Emma Summers
No complaints in normal rain so far.
I've picked up a few to leave where I might need one. Useful in the car or tucked into a suitcase, and I can fit one in my briefcase. They feel more like handy everyday umbrellas than something for really rough weather. No complaints in normal rain so far. I don't expect them to last forever, but for occasional use they're doing what I need.

This opens out surprisingly wide!!!
This opens out surprisingly wide!!! So glad I bought it!!! The plain finish is fine by me, since I mainly needed something to keep the rain off. The button gets it open quickly and there is comfortable cover over my shoulders without having a long umbrella to lug about. The little sleeve is useful too (it keeps all the folded material tidy instead of spreading through my bag). It's a practical thing to keep near the door and I have already found plenty of reasons to take it along. Would recommend!

Compact, decent looking and does what I need.
Compact, decent looking and does what I need. As a college student I wanted an umbrella I could keep in my backpack, not something I had to carry around separately all day. This fits alongside my books without much rearranging. Opened up, it's a good size for keeping me covered on the walk between classes, rather than just keeping my head dry. The construction seems solid and there's nothing overly fussy about the design - an easy recommendation from me.
Kayla Horton
I'm small so this size works for me.
Umbrellas usually annoy me, one little gust and they're inside out. This one I'm actually enjoying! Felt rather delicate at first but it's held up fine. Not heavy and I like having the sleeve. I'm small so this size works for me. Still think some air vents would be a sensible idea on any umbrella.
Mike Crosby
It's a good umbrella overall, so four seems fair
Appearance: For going to and from work I prefer something fairly plain, and the black looks smart without being too severe.Opening: One press and it opens nicely. The action feels controlled rather than like it's trying to jump out of my hand.Closing: The button folds the canopy, but shortening the shaft is a separate push with your hands. That last push needs more effort than I'd like, especially when I'm trying to get inside with other things to hold. Nothing is stuck, it just isn't an entirely one handed process.Sturdiness: The frame feels reassuring and has been fine in the breezes I've used it in. The oval handle is comfortable enough, though a bit bulky compared with a straight little grip.I went back and forth on the rating. It's a good umbrella overall, so four seems fair

Happy with the umbrella itself.
The wait for this was the frustrating part. It seemed to take ages before it actually turned up, and I was starting to wonder whether to give up on it. There was some dust on it when I unpacked it, which didn't make a great first impression. Once wiped off, though, it looked good and opened without any fuss. I had been a bit unsure about the handle from reading comments, but the loop feels secure enough to me. There's room for two if you keep close, or a comfortable amount for just me. Happy with the umbrella itself. I would recommend it, provided you aren't relying on having it immediately.

The box was rather big for an umbrella, but I love what was inside.
The box was rather big for an umbrella, but I love what was inside. I wanted pink without a deep bubble shape and this suits me perfectly. It seems sturdy, covers me and my bag comfortably, and two of us can huddle under it if necessary. Having it pop open with a press of the button is particularly nice.
Gabrielle Howard
It makes a little noise opening ,but feels quite solid once up.
I like that the black is plain ,and it looks quite neat folded up. It feels bigger over my head than it looks when I am carrying it, which is probably my favorite thing about it. The button makes opening easy and also folds the canopy down ,but you still have to push the shaft back down yourself. I thought the whole thing would get shorter with the button too, so that took a little getting used to. Not a big problem though. It makes a little noise opening ,but feels quite solid once up. For something I can put away in my bag it covers me well. Overall a nice umbrella ,just takes a bit of a push to pack it down.
Douglas Irwin
She takes it out a lot.
My mother uses this umbrella for shade and says it feels much cooler underneath than out in the sun. She takes it out a lot. My one little suggestion (perhaps the makers will see this) would be to make the handle a bit slimmer. She manages fine, but that small change would make a very good umbrella even better.
Connie Phelps
It has made wet days less of a battle.
Boston rain often comes with wind, and I was tired of wrestling an umbrella every time I went out. This one has been a much easier thing to manage. The frame feels secure and I get decent cover over my hair and shoulders without having a huge umbrella to drag around. I keep the edge above my eyes so I can watch the pavement, since the pink fabric isn't see through. It has made wet days less of a battle. My hair can still get blown about at the sides when it's gusty, but heck, at least I'm not arriving with the top of my head soaked!
Kelsey Pugh
I'm so pleased with the shade this gives me.
I'm so pleased with the shade this gives me. Out in the sun it feels like carrying a patch of tree shade along! My face isn't the only bit covered, my arms and chest get shade too, and I feel cooler under it. I still get a little excited opening it!Working out the opening and closing took a while, though. On its first outing I was hurrying for a bus and trying to shut it at the same time. I tripped and ended up on the ground. The umbrella came through fine. (I was fine too.) That was an unplanned test of how tough it is!My one wish is that it packed down smaller and weighed a bit less. As it is, I tend to take it only if I'm expecting a long stretch in the sun. A smaller, lighter thing could live in my bag, instead of me having to think about bringing it ust in case!Still think buying it was a good decision and I'm very happy with it.

Losing the umbrella I'd kept for years really bothered me.
Losing the umbrella I'd kept for years really bothered me. It had a dog design, and as a dog person I had got quite attached to it. Finding a replacement I actually wanted to carry took longer than expected. This one is plain black rather than a dog print, but I like how neat it looks. I took it along to the annual dog charity walk around the race track, with all the dogs and owners out together. It was hot that year, so it ended up being shade instead of rain cover. Worked very nicely for that. Its now my regular umbrella for dog outings.
Ricky Bell
I'm really pleased with the one I picked.
I left my old umbrella out on the front porch during a really bad storm and it ended up blown away and ruined. I'd used it for years, so finding something to replace it took a bit of thought. I'm really pleased with the one I picked. It opens automatically, which was something I wanted to keep, and it has a familiar feel when I'm holding it. This one folds up, unlike the old stick style, and that is a useful difference. The ribs look different from the ones I was used to, but everything feels well put together. Only time will tell whether it lasts as long as my previous umbrella did. For now I'm happy to have a proper replacement! I would like to get years of use from it, and if it holds up well I'll get one for my husband as well.
Tracey Nixon
It arrived when expected and I'm really pleased with it!
It arrived when expected and I'm really pleased with it! The frame feels substantial, and the breezes I've used it in haven't turned it inside out. I've owned enough flimsy umbrellas to appreciate the difference when you pick this one up. It's still fairly new, so I can't speak for years of use, but the joints and the way it opens give a better impression than my old ones did. The flexible ribs seem to give a little rather than feeling brittle when the wind pushes against the canopy. Most importantly, the canopy has kept the rain off me. I'd be comfortable recommending it.

why keep buying cheap umbrella's that barely last.
why keep buying cheap umbrella's that barely last. I've a few of these around for rainy days in New York and haven't had one give up yet. Leaving one in a bar or taxi is usually how I lose them. Being able to open it with one hand is great, and I like getting decent cover from something that folds down.

First compact automatic I've had, and I love it!
First compact automatic I've had, and I love it! Kept the fine drizzle off my face when held low. I'm quite gentle with the moving parts as they looked a bit delicate, but it's given me no trouble at all. People notice it too and I've had some lovely comments; very cute!

Mine has just arrived.
Mine has just arrived. I had pictured it a little wider, although it will still be fine for my wedding. Looking back at the description, the size was there, so that was more my expectation then anything wrong with it. It feels nicely made and quite solid. Thanks!
