It has held up well to everyday use.

With all the rain where I go to school, I wanted something with decent coverage that wasn't going to eat up my budget. This has done the job through nearly a year of being dragged around with my things. The green isn't looking quite so fresh now (hardly a surprise), but it still opens smoothly and does its job in the rain. It has held up well to everyday use. For a reasonably priced umbrella that I can keep taking to class, I'm very satisfied.

used it about 5 or 6 times and its doing fine.

used it about 5 or 6 times and its doing fine. button opens it and folds the canopy, you just have to push the stem down yourself before it'll open again, i forgot that bit duh. Someone borrowed it and said "nice umbrella you've got" so yeah that about sums it up.

How many things can you say about an umbrella!

How many things can you say about an umbrella! It keeps the rain off, which seems the main qualification! I wanted this for rainy outings with my walker and the canopy gives me room underneath, rather than having to keep tucked into one tiny spot. The opening is straightforward as well. Not much more to add really, it does what I needed it to do.

Workmanship looks good, esp.

Only recently started using this, so I can't say much about long term use.I've taken it out twice in fairly steady rain, without much wind. Coverage is good for one person and two could stand close underneath, though I wouldn't buy it mainly for that. It folds down for carrying, though it isn't the smallest thing to put in a bag. There is still more weight up top than I expected and my arm notices it after a while. Possibly that is just the price of a fairly broad canopy.Workmanship looks good, esp. for what it cost. I haven't had weather that would tell me much about how it handles wind. Anyone who finds holding an umbrella tiring might want to consider the weight before buying.Nonetheless I consider it a decent umbrella.

The material appears good.

It took some time to arrive. The material appears good. I have not used it on my way to work yet. For ordinary trips outside, it does its job. The finishing of the parts is satisfactory. Size is as described. I am content with this purchase and would recommend it.

A small effort, not a problem..

After trying six umbrellas, I think this one gets the balance between coverage and carrying size about right. Some of the sturdier ones I've owned were so long and heavy that I left them at home. This gives me plenty of shelter without becoming another thing to lug around. It looks smart too. At about 40cm folded, it goes in my larger laptop bag, and the open canopy is surprisingly generous beside the folded package. The ribs feel flexible rather than brittle, and it has coped well with the rainy, breezy days I've used it on. One thing worth knowing is that the button closes the canopy, not the whole telescoping section. You compress that manually and it needs a fairly firm push to click home. A small effort, not a problem.. I also own a non-folding umbrella which looks quite classic, but I end up carrying that in my hand everywhere. Being able to tuck this one away makes it my more practical choice.

The fabric feels good and the opening action is quick and positive.

Just the kind of umbrella I wanted - smart looking, a nice blue, and compact enough to take along without much thought. For one person on busy downtown sidewalks, the size is very practical. The fabric feels good and the opening action is quick and positive. I wouldn't choose it for extreme weather, but then I don't expect a folding umbrella to be a piece of storm equipment. It has been out several times in rain and a bit of wind, with no trouble. I'd recommend it for someone who wants an attractive everyday umbrella rather than something for battling the worst conditions.

I adore this umbrella!

I adore this umbrella! A little delicate feeling, but I wasn't expecting anything different. Getting it delivered was a real headache, though the people helping me were wonderful. They kept replying and giving me updates each day. The first parcel disappeared in transit and they sorted out a replacement for me.

Love this umbrella, feels like a proper piece of kit and worth…

Love this umbrella, feels like a proper piece of kit and worth what I paid. I haven't had it out in really wild weather, but it already seems more solid than the umbrellas I've owned before.I looked around before settling on this one, and buying it at a price I was comfortable with makes me happier with the choice.

Becky White

Good value for something I'll actually want to carry with me.

Excellent umbrella with several details I appreciate: a solid-feeling frame, a carabiner loop I can clip onto my bag, and a button that opens it quickly and draws the canopy shut again. It folds to a manageable size without feeling tiny when open. Everything feels thought out rather than fussy. Good value for something I'll actually want to carry with me.

Austin Noble

Probably the nicest umbrella I've owned.

Probably the nicest umbrella I've owned. Pressing the button opens it smoothly and another press gathers the canopy, with the pole then compressed manually. The materials feel solid all round, not like something I will need to replace straightaway. Also, for some reason it reminds me of those very proper umbrellas in newspaper photographs. Not an important feature, obviously, but I do like the look.

an umbrella isn't supposed to double as a crowbar.

My previous umbrella was finished off on the subway when somebody stood on it. They disappeared at their stop without even acknowledging it, which was almost more annoying than having to replace the thing. Anyway, that started the hunt. After browsing around and reading a fair number of reviews, I went with this one. It feels properly solid, not that flimsy, disposable sort of umbrella I've ended up with before. The opening action is GREAT, especially when you're trying to get outside without juggling everything. My only slight reservation is that it isn't the lightest little thing in a bag, but I'll take that for something that feels substantial. I was a little doubtful about the handle from looking at it online. Actually holding it is another matter; the closed oval loop feels secure, and it seems perfectly adequate for normal use. Obviously I wouldn't abuse it...an umbrella isn't supposed to double as a crowbar. =) It has attracted a few questions on the train, mostly about the handle, which I find quite entertaining. If chatting to strangers makes you miserable, that part might not appeal. Personally I quite enjoy a passing conversation, and having an umbrella I'm pleased to use instead of another flimsy replacement makes the whole business less irritating.

Good coverage for the longer walks I take in the rain.

Good coverage for the longer walks I take in the rain. I use it mostly when taking the dog out a few times each day, and it's wide enough that I'm not cutting every walk short because I'm getting soaked. For one person there's plenty of shelter without carrying a huge umbrella. Would recommend it if you spend a fair amount of time outside.

My girlfriend is a fan of pink, and this one made her happy.

Everything seems to need some new twist these days, even an ordinary umbrella. My girlfriend is a fan of pink, and this one made her happy. It opens to a useful size, the colour is lovely and the whole thing feels well made. Overall a nice choice if you want something attractive that works as an umbrella should.

Raven Nixon

Cons: This is a very small criticism.

Pros: Good finish, sturdy construction, manageable weight, useful coverage. Supplied sleeve keeps everything together when it's packed away.Cons: This is a very small criticism. The oval handle occupies more room in my bag than a straight one would. It doesn't affect using the umbrella, but for a compact model I would have preferred a slightly slimmer shape at that end. Overall, still an excellent purchase.

the rain certainly turned up too....

Blue, roomy....and yes it keeps the water off!!! Not much more I need to ask of an umbrella....Ordered it a couple of days before a wedding because the forecast looked awful...it turned up in time....the rain certainly turned up too....but my dress stayed dry and that's what mattered!

Overall, a good umbrella with a few practical compromises.

With all the rain we have had in Florida lately, several friends have remarked on how smart this umbrella looks. It gives a generous amount of cover and seems sturdy without being a full length umbrella. There is still some awkwardness at a doorway where there is no shelter, trying to shut it while opening the door and keeping everything else dry. (Perhaps this says more about my coordination than the umbrella, as I never seem to have a hand available for all the things that need doing at once.) The button is a convenience I appreciate more than I thought I would. I can bring the canopy down before stepping through the door, then push the shaft back in once I am inside rather than doing everything on the doorstep. The closed oval handle gives me a comfortable hold, even with damp hands. I am a little divided about that shape, however, because a curved handle is so convenient to rest over an arm when carrying something else. This one is compact enough once folded, but I still find myself rearranging things to carry it. The sleeve is useful for putting it away afterwards. What I miss is a cover designed to catch the drips immediately on coming indoors, rather than having to think about where to leave a wet umbrella. Overall, a good umbrella with a few practical compromises.

Only arrived today so no proper rain test yet, but first look is good.

Only arrived today so no proper rain test yet, but first look is good. Feels like a decent everyday umbrella. The handle is a closed loop and comfortable enough to hold. the button opens it and brings the canopy back in, then you press the shaft down yourself. It's a compact one when packed away, though opened out there is enough room for me. Seems good for keeping a child covered too. Happy with the price, will come back if anything changes once it's been used.

This arrived looking great and feels nicely made.

At 34 I've finally spent money on an umbrella for the first time. Apparently being a grown up means admitting I don't enjoy getting soaked every time the weather turns. This arrived looking great and feels nicely made. Opened up, there's plenty of coverage for me, then it folds down to something I can actually keep with me. And it's pink! Who said practical had to be boring?! Couldn't be more pleased with my first proper umbrella, I'd definitely recommend it!

As described - a couple of small points:

As described - a couple of small points: It needs a fairly neat fold to pack down tidily, a bit more fiddly than I wanted. The handle feels sturdy but a more shaped grip would be comfier when holding it awhile, as there is some weight to this umbrella. Overall feels solidly built - hope it last

Alexis Preston

This umbrella has been just what I wanted.

This umbrella has been just what I wanted. Folded, it fits in my purse or the storage space in the car door, but opened up it gives me proper coverage in the rain. It isn't awkward to take along, so I don't mind keeping it with me on cloudy days. Best part for me is being able to press a button to get it open. Getting out of the car with keys and a purse is awkward enough without struggling to put an umbrella up as well. The cream white is a pretty, soft colour, a little different to how it appeared on my screen. I actually prefer it in person. It feels well put together and I'm hoping it'll be with me for a good long while.

Delighted with this new umbrella!

Delighted with this new umbrella! My old golf umbrella was a handful on the walk to work whenever the wind picked up. This is much easier for me to manage and doesn't feel flimsy doing it. Good construction, comfortable to hold, and it has kept the rain off on my commute. Exactly what I needed. Really pleased.

Shawn Clark

Apart from that, a cracking umbrella and one I'd happily recommend.

Took this out in the rain just as the wind decided to join in, so it got a proper outing. I could feel it pulling but it held its shape and I had a comfortable grip on the oval handle. The finish on the handle looks like something I'd avoid knocking about, so I'm a little careful with it. Apart from that, a cracking umbrella and one I'd happily recommend.

Meghan Hebert

I'm delighted with this umbrella!

I'm delighted with this umbrella! It feels slightly delicate, but that wasn't a surprise to me. Getting it here was frustrating after the first parcel went missing. The help I received was excellent though, with regular updates until everything was sorted out. No complaints about the umbrella itself.

Mckenzie Villarreal

love this one!

love this one! I was more relieved to get an umbrella than you might think. My Husband is a HUGE sports FAN and loved our old golf umbrella. HE left it somewhere and that was that . We replaced it, then I managed to leave the next one in a shopping cart! Asked at the store, nobody had handed it in. SO I needed a replacement before the hubby noticed! This one is smaller than the golf one but it's a wonderful umbrella and I'm happy with it. Now I just have to remember to take it home (every time). I am really going to try!!

Whitney King

She seemed very pleased with it.

This was my gr/daughter's Christmas present, she tried it straight away even though we were inside. The blue went down well and she liked how much cover it gave her. She carries things to class so that mattered more than having a tiny umbrella. Button opening was simple and bringing the canopy in was too. She seemed very pleased with it.

Elijah Mosley

Folds down to a sensible size as well.

No great knowledge of umbrellas here, but I can tell this feels more substantial than the flimsy crap I keep seeing in shops. It looks decent too. I haven't been out with it in anything I'd call serious wind, so I'm not going to pretend I know how it would do in that. I've managed to ruin enough umbrellas over the years to be a little doubtful of big claims anyway. It's a plain, smart sort of thing, which is what I want to carry. The oval handle fits my hand comfortably and doesn't feel like an afterthought. Folds down to a sensible size as well. For what I paid I'm quite happy with the quality, and I'd buy it again.

Willie Mckay

It also kept me dry when I tried it in a shower.

I picked this mainly for those blazing Texas summer days, and it makes a useful bit of shade. The blue is cute enough that I don't feel quite so daft carrying an umbrella without any rain about. It also kept me dry when I tried it in a shower. A bit more bulky in my bag than I hoped, but I'll still be using it for the sun!

Norma Baldwin

That's a successful umbrella as far as I'm concerned.

I'm judging this as an umbrella for my kid, so there are only three things:1) Keeps them dry?2) Lasts?3) Do they want to use it?Answers so far:1) Yes, does its job.2) Four months and still fine.3) Absolutely. That's a successful umbrella as far as I'm concerned. I don't need much else.

Marilyn Wolf

Dry shoulders and less to carry, how can I complain??

Confession, this isn't coming anywhere near a golf course. I don't play.I'm 6' tall and mostly wanted something that keeps my head and shoulders dry without hauling a giant umbrella around. This manages that nicely. My shoes still get splashed, but that's hardly the umbrella's fault. The button opener is a bonus when I'm already juggling things. Dry shoulders and less to carry, how can I complain??

Kyle Proctor

The canopy opens smoothly and provides good coverage.

The umbrella feels thoughtfully made and the operation is straightforward. We particularly like the flexible ribs, which have a bit of give rather than feeling rigid. The canopy opens smoothly and provides good coverage. It is a good looking umbrella that does what we need it to. Very pleased overall.

Sandra Hutchinson

A press of the button opens it, and another gathers the canopy.

A press of the button opens it, and another gathers the canopy. You still push the pole in yourself, which is fine. The sleeve has been a pleasant surprise. I've had covers that were such a squeeze they stayed in a drawer; I actually put this one back on. What more do I need? Some wind resistance would be nice, but I haven't taken it into really gusty rain and don't intend to find out the hard way. That's the only bit I can't comment on. Hopefully this answers the basic questions, and I'll add anything useful as I use it more

Nicholas Reeves

im happy with how it works.

Was surprised how neatly this fits in my big tote. i expected something bulkier from looking at it open. the first press of the button needed a firmer thumb than i thought, probably just me not being used to it. once open it looks pretty solid for a folding umbrella. getting it neatly wrapped to go in the sleeve takes a little fiddling but nothing terrible. im happy with how it works. folded up its a little longer than i pictured, about the length of one of my shoes, so not exactly tiny

Dorothy Young

A solid and well thought out design.

I have checked the main specifications and they agree with the umbrella here. Easily the nicest one I have owned. About 390 grams, and roughly 40cm long when folded. The button handles opening and collapsing the canopy. Compressing the telescoping shaft is a separate manual step. A solid and well thought out design.

Kathleen Glass

It has become the one I reach for, and I would happily recommend it.

I've had mine for about a year and use it regularly around the waterfront where I live. It can get very breezy here, so I wanted something that wouldn't feel flimsy the minute I stepped outside. This has been reassuring to carry in the rainy weather I've actually taken it out in. I can hold it comfortably in one hand and it hasn't turned inside out on me. The coverage suits me well walking on my own, without having to carry a huge umbrella when the rain stops. After all this use the frame still feels firm, the handle is secure and the fabric sits neatly on the ribs. I expected a folding umbrella to feel a bit tired by now but this one still opens smoothly and packs away properly. It has become the one I reach for, and I would happily recommend it.

Shelley Anthony

That's just how this one works, not something wrong with it.

I had expected the button to pull everything right down, so I was a little disappointed at first. It does close the canopy, but you still have to press the shaft in by hand. That's just how this one works, not something wrong with it. It has kept me dry and feels decent enough that I got one for a friend too. Overall I think it's worth the money, just not quite as effortless to pack away as I'd imagined.

Heather Fernandez

The umbrella feels well made and works very nicely.

I chose this umbrella for my granddaughter's Easter present. I put it away after buying it and didn't really take a good look until it was time to give it to her. She was very impatient to have her new umbrella, which made me wish I had checked it over earlier so I was ready to show her. I did contact customer service about it and the person who replied was very kind and helpful. It meant a lot to be treated kindly rather than feel I was being a bother. Everything was explained clearly and I felt looked after. My granddaughter is thrilled with the umbrella now. I help her with it, but she enjoys having her own when we're outside together. The umbrella feels well made and works very nicely. I was impressed with the umbrella and especially with the way my questions were handled. A good experience all round.

Bob Obrien

My girlfriend really likes this gift.

My girlfriend really likes this gift. It slips into her backpack without taking over, then opens to a sensible size with a quick button press. GF says it's enough cover without being enormous. Another press closes the canopy; the stem still needs compressing by hand afterwards. Nice little umbrella, one we'll try not to leave behind anywhere.

Robert Owens

overall a good umbrella that i am glad to have.

Good amount of room over one person, and two can squeeze under if needed. only thing i had to get used to was the oval handle, as my hand expects a more ordinary shape. it isn't uncomfortable though and after carrying it a bit i don't notice it much. overall a good umbrella that i am glad to have.

Jasmine Mercer

Overall I'm satisfied.

More substantial in the hand than I had imagined, although at around 390g it is still manageable for me. The opening button isn't quite where my thumb naturally rests, so that took some getting used to. Once I'd worked out my grip, it was easy enough to use and I appreciate the solid feeling. Overall I'm satisfied.

Cole Bass

Would happily recommend this umbrella.

Love mine, a little more weight than I had pictured, but the frame feels reassuring rather than flimsy. It's handled the breezy days I've used it on without turning inside out. The black looks just like the pictures, nice and smart as well. Would happily recommend this umbrella.

Wesley Cross

It lives in my bag for the train journey downtown an it's already…

It lives in my bag for the train journey downtown an it's already saved me getting soaked. Enough coverage for me if I hold it properly, without taking over the pavement when other people are passing. Being able to pop it open with one press is handy coming out of the station.

Kelli Vincent

Otherwise we're happy with it.

Feels solid, and my wife and I can share it if we walk close together. Looks smart too. We live out west--I can see it being more awkward on a packed city sidewalk. My petite wife finds the button a little firm to press, which is our only real reservation. Otherwise we're happy with it.

Rachael Melendez

Replaced my worn out golf umbrella with this one.

Replaced my worn out golf umbrella with this one. Wanted decent cover when walking with my wife, but something easier to pack away. Hadn't paid much attention to the folded length before ordering and was pleasantly surprised how easily it went in the suitcase for Italy. We took it along while walking around Rome in the rain and it was much handier than carrying a long umbrella all day. Sharing meant keeping close together, but it kept the rain off our shoulders nicely. Saw plenty of people wrestling with flimsy umbrellas from the street stalls...we were glad we'd brought ours. A rainy walk ended up being a really nice part of our trip.

Hayden Clarke

so this has been out quite a bit.

Spring here in the Pacific Northwest is mostly rain with some wind thrown in.....so this has been out quite a bit. Handled the lighter breezes fine, haven't put it through anything very strong yet. I like the shape when it's open and the amount of cover it gives me.

Wyatt Marsh

Haven't had a proper downpour yet, come on rainy season ♀(゚Д゚щ)

One press to open it and another to bring the canopy in, so convenient! I still push the pole down myself afterwards ♡ The size feels just right. Getting into the car is less of a struggle now, not wrestling with a long umbrella ♡ I had a full length one before and it was awkward to pack away. This one can come along for shade as well, though rain is what I bought it for. Haven't had a proper downpour yet, come on rainy season ♀(゚Д゚щ)

Breanna Diaz

I don't expect any umbrella to do all the work for me.

I thought far too much about which umbrella to get, but crowded NYC sidewalks were the reason. I wanted enough cover for myself without feeling as if I was blocking everybody else. This strikes that balance for me. I watch where I hold the canopy edge so i can keep track of people coming towards me, and it's manageable without a huge sweep of fabric. The black looks smart too. Another plus is that i can fold it away when I get indoors - MUCH nicer than finding a place for a full length umbrella. In a breeze I still pay attention to how I'm holding it; I don't expect any umbrella to do all the work for me. For everyday walking w/ other people all around, this feels right. A backup is tempting, and I could see getting some as gifts too.

Dennis Woods

The workmanship seems good.

I think the weight, grip and general use are all satisfactory. On taking it out of the packaging, I looked over the ends and the fabric. Everything was in place and the finishing looked neat. The button worked as expected when I tried it, and the folded umbrella went into its sleeve without difficulty. I wanted a normal umbrella that was comfortable to use, and this has been that. The workmanship seems good. I hope it stays this way...

Daniel Parks

Otherwise - a roomy umbrella, and the quality seems good.

...but putting it away still means pushing the center shaft in by hand. The button only gathers the canopy, it does not shorten the whole thing for you. Not sure I like that extra step when I'm trying to get indoors out of the rain.Otherwise - a roomy umbrella, and the quality seems good.

Dustin Holland

Went back a few minutes later & it was nowhere to be found.

I had an umbrella I really liked, & accidently left it in the shopping cart. Went back a few minutes later & it was nowhere to be found. Looking for a replacement brought me to this one, & I'm so pleased with it! It's nice enough that people have asked about it when I'm out, which always makes me smile. A push of the button gets it open & the same button brings the canopy down...then I shorten the stem by hand. Easy to use & easy to carry about, couldn't have found a better replacement!
