The umbrella has been working beautifully and Grandma's very pleased.
My husband had a little umbrella for the quick run between our house & car. Our little grandson, 3 years old, discovered it & thought it was WONDERFUL. Grandpa showed him what the button did & he was so pleased with himself. Well Grandma couldn't resist getting him a new one. (Yes, the one already there probably would have served just fine... grandparents aren't always sensible!). His first idea was to share it with mommy so she could stay dry too. The umbrella has been working beautifully and Grandma's very pleased.

It feels properly solid in use.
I'd had enough of little umbrellas that felt flimsy the minute the weather changed. This one is BRILLIANT. Opens out to a decent size and doesn't leave my shoulders hanging out (always a bonus if you're trying to look presentable, I might add). It feels properly solid in use. Came home with my top half dry for once!

Overall the quality for the money puts it at four
Looks: The gray is understated enough for my work commute, but not so dull that I mind carrying it. It looks neat with office clothes.Opening: One press gets it open smoothly. It feels controlled rather than suddenly jumping out of my hand.Closing: A press collapses the canopy, but resetting the telescoping shaft takes a firm manual push. I find that last bit awkward when I'm holding other things. Sometimes I end up with a wet hand while gathering it together in the lobby, so putting it away isn't quite as effortless as opening it.Strength: The canopy feels substantial and has coped well with the gusts I've met so far. The handle feels fine, although I prefer a little more room for my hand.I hovered between three and four stars. Overall the quality for the money puts it at four

I'd certainly recommend it.
Simple and rather elegant, without looking fussy. It springs open promptly and the canopy closes just as quickly. I looked through so many folding umbrellas online, worrying that a compact one would flip the first time it got windy. This feels reassuringly solid in the hand, rain hasn't been an issue either. If things get really wild I can step indoors and close it in a moment. I'd certainly recommend it.
Antonio Hinton
It feels sturdy, although rather heavy.
I had to ask about the delivery several times before it came. It feels sturdy, although rather heavy. Bought it for my mom, but with this weight I will probably keep it for myself. The button opens it and folds the canopy down. The Pink looks quite nice too. Should be useful during the rainy season. Clipping the loop onto a bag is easy, but the weight might make it a bit much to carry about when there is only light drizzle.
Danny Becker
Very pleased with this umbrella overall.
Very pleased with this umbrella overall. It could easy pass for something costing twice as much, and it keeps the rain off me nicely. I'd prefer a bit more width, but the measurements were listed correctly, so that's down to my choice. Still feel I got a lot for the money.

I hadn't expected an umbrella to give me much to write about.
I hadn't expected an umbrella to give me much to write about. After all, you open it, stand underneath it and hope not to get wet. Well, having used this one, I can see why some are worth a closer look. It feels like a proper everyday umbrella rather than something I will only put up with until the next one comes along.
First, it folds down to about 40cm. Not the tiniest umbrella you can buy, but a sensible size for carrying rather than a full-length stick. The sleeve slides off without a struggle, and a push on the button brings the canopy up. That is particularly handy when you already have something in your other hand.
Once open, there is more coverage than I expected from its folded size. It is around 105cm across, and at roughly 390g it feels substantial without being a burden to hold. There are 30 flexible ribs supporting the canopy. I am not someone who normally counts umbrella ribs, but the whole thing feels reassuringly supported, rather than thin and flimsy. The rain I have used it in has stayed where it belongs, outside.
I hadn't tested it in particularly windy weather when I first wrote this, so I wasn't going to make any grand claims about storms. For normal wet days, though, it had already done everything I needed.
Putting it away is straightforward too. The button brings the canopy closed, then you press the telescoping section down yourself. Rolled up neatly, it goes into its sleeve again without a wrestling match.
Someone wanting the absolute smallest umbrella may prefer something else. For me, the balance of folded size and useful coverage is very good.
Update: It has now had an outing on a windy, rainy day. I still had a comfortable grip and the canopy held its shape, with no unexpected drama. That was the remaining question for me, and I am just as happy with it now!

They both want to be the one holding it!
My four year old twins were delighted when I brought this umbrella home. They both want to be the one holding it! I operate the button for them, but they love having somewhere to shelter on rainy days. The canopy has a nice rounded shape and gives them good cover together. It feels well made too. No complaints from us.
Eduardo Pennington
This gray one has been excellent.
I've been following my team for more than 40 years, and I appreciate a dependable umbrella. This gray one has been excellent. It gives me good cover along with the things I'm carrying, yet isn't cumbersome to pack away. It has handled breezy days well and the colour still looks good. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

I still turn it towards the wind and use a little common sense.
I've added two more of these umbrellas, which probably says something about how useful the first one has been. Oregon supplies plenty of rain, and I spend a lot of my day going between buildings on campus. An umbrella needs to be more than something I carry around just in case. This one has been getting regular use.
The positives are the coverage when it's up and the fairly manageable package when it's put away. There's comfortable room for me, or room to share briefly if we stay close together. Having a button to open it is helpful when I'm carrying other things. The flexible ribs have also dealt well with the ordinary gusts I've been out in.
On the other hand, I wouldn't take that to mean it's something to wave around in any storm. I still turn it towards the wind and use a little common sense. That's true of any umbrella, though -- expecting a compact one to make the weather irrelevant is asking rather a lot.
Another practical point is how you put it in your bag. It isn't so small that you can forget it's there, especially in a computer bag that's already fairly full. I use the sleeve rather than shoving it in uncovered and pulling it back through straps and whatever else is in there. Less to get tangled, and it makes putting everything away a little neater. The closed loop handle is comfortable for carrying it between showers, too.
Those aren't reasons to pass on it, just things I've found worth mentioning after carrying it around regularly. It's a useful size without becoming a whole extra item to wrestle with, and it has kept me dry on those trips across campus. That's what I needed it for. From someone who gets plenty of practice using an umbrella, an easy recommendation!
Anna Gonzales
I prefer a wider umbrella, so the size took a little getting used to.
I prefer a wider umbrella, so the size took a little getting used to. My last automatic one covered more, although it was also more of a thing to carry. This one feels reasonably light in my hand and is much easier to put away. The shaft looks slim, which made me wonder how steady it would feel once I was outside. I've only had it out once, in rain with a bit of wind, and it behaved perfectly well. For ordinary showers and getting from one place to another I think it is a good choice. I wouldn't pick it if my main aim was keeping every bit of my clothes dry on a long wet walk. My shoulders were covered, but it isn't a walking shelter for my legs. Overall I'm happy with the convenience, just would have liked a little more width.

It arrived promptly, the umbrella opens wide, the fabric looks sturdy, it is easy to open and not too heavy, the black is nice, the ribs have some flex to them which I appreciate, folded it takes more space than I expected but carrying it has been fine, overall a good umbrella.
Ricardo Copeland
Having handled the others, I appreciate the construction much more.
I kept putting off buying this because spending that much on an umbrella seemed silly. I tried two less expensive ones first, and neither felt substantial enough to keep, so back they went. Eventually I came round to this one and WOW, I can feel the difference. The handle has a reassuring grip, the canopy makes useful shade and the opening action is smooth. Having handled the others, I appreciate the construction much more.I'm pleased I stopped going for the cheapest option (still wish it cost a little less...).

Best umbrella I've had for shopping.
Best umbrella I've had for shopping. Going round the outdoor shops in the rain was so much easier with this one. I had my handbag. bags from the shops and could work the button without putting everything down. Straight up when I went outside, canopy folded when I went inside. You do push the shaft back down yourself afterwards. I don't mind that bit. The frame seems solid too, not that flimsy feeling some folding umbrellas have. Makes a rainy shopping day much less of a juggling act. I would definitely pick it again.

EXCELLENT umbrella.
EXCELLENT umbrella. Feels well put together, the handle sits nicely in my hand, and once it's open I feel properly sheltered. My only small grumble is the folded size. It's compact compared with a long umbrella, certainly, but not a tiny thing to disappear into a small handbag. I put it in my tote instead. That's a fair trade for having useful coverage.Update after three years! Still getting good use out of it. Came back through a proper downpour tonight and stayed much drier than I used to with my little pocket umbrellas. I'm not someone who needs one every single day, but it's lasted well with the use it gets. The part I find a little fussy is putting it away. The button shuts the canopy, not the whole telescoping shaft, so I press that down myself before packing it away. Not a fault, just an extra step. Still very pleased with it.

So my old portable umbrella was never giving me enough cover.
So my old portable umbrella was never giving me enough cover. I would still end up with a wet back and wet sneakers, and I wanted something that didn't feel so flimsy when the weather turned.I spent a while looking for a replacement and settled on this one. The frame looks substantial without making the whole thing feel like a burden, only a little heavier in my hand than the old one. There is a sleeve for putting it away, and the ribs look nicely finished to me. It seems like a proper step up from what I was carrying. The beige colour is pleasant too, not something that shouts at you. Only small downside is it takes a bit of space even folded, but that's a fair trade for the coverage. Looking forward to taking it out in the next rain.
Justin Shah
This is a nice size to carry and feels good quality.
The umbrella does the job! More cover than I expected. Ha! I've used it out playing in the rain and it kept me dry. My buddy can squeeze in too, though it isn't a huge golf umbrella. I play whatever the weather... This is a nice size to carry and feels good quality. Very happy with it! Keep dry and enjoy the round!

I wanted an umbrella for both rainy days and some shade.
I wanted an umbrella for both rainy days and some shade. Folded up it looks fairly substantial, and on opening it the frame gives a good impression of being well put together. The coverage is where I have mixed feelings. With it straight above my head my face and shoulders are shaded, but my arms still catch the sun unless I angle it over. It is fine for an ordinary shower, though I would want more room in a heavy downpour, especially carrying a bag. For one person wanting something compact it may be a sensible choice. For me, it is less coverage than I had hoped for. I sent it back to find something larger, preferably with more shade over my arms. The green I picked is very pretty.

Folds down small enough for my backpack and the button makes it quick to open or fold the canopy. Can't really comment on how long it'll last (only just got it)but the first impression is sturdy. I'd rather pay a bit more for one decent umbrella than keep replacing cheap ones.
Isabella Lutz
Up to now I've been happy with it.
Mine was a gift, and since I work in the city it gets used quite a bit. Up to now I've been happy with it. It feels solid in ordinary wind, but let's be realistic about what an umbrella does. If rain is blowing across your legs, having something over your head isn't going to stop that. It covers my head and shoulders nicely when rain is coming down normally. The button is useful when I'm heading in and out, and I don't have a big golf umbrella to drag around. Now, if you're expecting to arrive looking like there wasn't any rain outside, wear a proper raincoat too. It's an umbrella, not a portable room. I do wish it packed a little smaller in my bag, but for everyday city use it does its job.
Phyllis Cross
Pretty, not too heavy, and feels well made.
Pretty, not too heavy, and feels well made. Mine was mainly to give me some shade, but it's been handy in drizzle too (where I am in Southern California, that is most of our rain). Nice to have something that does both, the rain use has been an unexpected plus.
Javier Walter
The frame seems less substantial than I'd imagined from the reviews.
The frame seems less substantial than I'd imagined from the reviews. Still, after several outings in a bit of wind, it's done its job perfectly well. This is a sensible umbrella to leave in a bag for surprise rain, though I wouldn't make a compact umbrella my first choice for a really rough storm.
Philip Frazier
Has kept me dry in the Florida rain so far.
Has kept me dry in the Florida rain so far. I went with cream white and it looks really nice, a change from most umbrellas I see. Opening it is easy and the size suits me well. Pushing the shaft back down after the canopy closes takes a bit of effort. Not terrible, just more than I expected. Still happy with it overall and would recommend.
Briana Peck
An attractive umbrella and easy to open too.
Arrived neatly packed. It's very "handsome" in a plain sort of way. I wanted a reasonable amount of canopy, but wondered whether after, say ..... 20 minutes my arms would start complaining. I'm a woman and don't like carrying a great weight about. There is some heft here, though it feels manageable rather than excessive. Haven't used it in rain or wind yet, so I can't say anything sensible about that part. From looking it over, the finish and materials seem lovely. An attractive umbrella and easy to open too. Much appreciated!!
Joan Payne
A little bulkier than some, but a useful compromise for me.
Definitely not a tiny pocket umbrella, but I wanted something between "barely covers my head" and "needs its own seat on the bus". There's room over me and the bag I'm carrying, and when folded it goes into my bigger backpack or along the side of my messenger bag.Feels well assembled, with tidy stitching and fabric that doesn't seem paper thin. The action is smooth and it has coped fine with breezy weather. A little bulkier than some, but a useful compromise for me.
Jim Rose
was really pleased when we opened them up.
Ordered these as props for my daughter's dance performance...was really pleased when we opened them up. The gray showed up nicely under the lights, not flashy but looked very smart together. The umbrella's have been opened and put away through rehearsals and still looked lovely for the actual performance....They feel properly made rather than something only good for one show. Had lots of nice comments about them...VERY PLEASED WITH HOW THESE TURNED OUT.

A fairly ordinary folding umbrella, which is what I wanted.
A fairly ordinary folding umbrella, which is what I wanted. The button opens it, and there's a sleeve to put it in when not using it.It has kept the rain off without any trouble, though it doesn't feel particularly substantial in my hand. For the price I can live with that. I tend to lose umbrellas before I wear them out, so I'm not looking to spend a fortune. This one suits that approach quite well.
Desiree Keller
My wife finds that last push a bit harder than I do.
We keep this umbrella at our seasonal camper for walking around when the weather turns. It feels quite solid for something that folds up, and the fabric seems substantial enough for regular use. The automatic opening works nicely, which is handy when you're stepping out into rain. Closing the canopy with the same button is easy too, although compressing the telescoping shaft afterwards takes more effort than I would prefer. Nothing wrong with it, just not as effortless as the button part makes you expect. My wife finds that last push a bit harder than I do. Once it's packed away it doesn't take up much room, so it suits what we wanted at the camper. Overall I'm pleased with it, with that small reservation about the effort needed to put it away.
Brianna Campbell
Pros: The Cream White is really pretty in person.
Pros: The Cream White is really pretty in person. It keeps the rain off well and the ribs have some give to them. A gust flipped mine inside out once, but I could turn it back the right way without much fuss and carry on using it. Con: Folding it up neatly is a bit fiddly for me. The material bunches up unless I take time arranging the folds, and then there's getting it into the sleeve. I can wrap it up fine, just not as tightly as it arrived. Mostly I leave the sleeve off rather than spend ages trying to make it tidy.
Angela Fisher
Otherwise a good umbrella to have with me every day.
Needed an umbrella that could stay in my backpack for the walk to school when the weather turns wet. This folds up small enough and the weight is fine for carrying along. The sleeve is handy since it stops it getting tangled up with everything else in my bag. I wouldn't choose a compact one over a big umbrella for really rough weather. The loop handle is a little small for my hand, wish there was a bit more room there. Otherwise a good umbrella to have with me every day.
Tara Hester
The gray looks good in person.
I'd been wanting an umbrella like this and have had a few nice comments about it already. The gray looks good in person. It has kept the rain off and feels steady in the wind I've encountered, without filling my whole view of the pavement. Closing the canopy with the button is straightforward, but pushing the shaft back down takes more pressure than I expected, so I take my time with that part. A little more effort than I'd choose, although I still enjoy using it and would call it a good umbrella.
Ethan Page
Very happy with this umbrella.
Very happy with this umbrella. In the photos it was pretty, but when I see it myself the cream white is even nicer. I live in Seattle where rain seems to be always coming, so I wanted something that is pleasant to look at also. The light colour was my reason to choose it, not only having cover from rain. It gives a little cheerful feeling when the weather outside is all gray. For me this was a good choice.
Sheena Levy
A solid feeling umbrella.
A solid feeling umbrella. The fabric is decent and the loop handle sits nicely in my hand. I get proper coverage with this one, smaller umbrellas somehow always leave part of me getting rained on...this feels a much better size. For what it cost I think it is well put together. My one grumble was the packing plastic, a little bit got caught in the gap near the handle and was fiddly to pick out. Nothing to do with using the umbrella itself. For anyone dealing with frequent rain I would certainly suggest giving this one a try
James Carney
Lost my last one on a trip and wanted the same again.
Lost my last one on a trip and wanted the same again. It fits in my bag or backpack without taking over the whole thing, which is why I like it for travelling. I keep another in the car as well. Not something I think about much until it starts raining, then I'm always glad I remembered to put it there.
Traci Ayers
I've been very satisfied and would recommend it.
Direct sun bothers me, so this comes along on my daily walks. It gives me a patch of shade and is comfortable enough to carry the whole way. Feels solidly put together, and when it rains I don't need a different umbrella. I've been very satisfied and would recommend it.
Ellen Kaufman
No rain to try it in yet, but the construction seems reassuring.
It turned out a little smaller than I'd imagined, which is actually handy for my bag. I should have checked the listed size more carefully. No rain to try it in yet, but the construction seems reassuring. In Chicago we get plenty of wet, windy weather, so I don't want something that feels flimsy from the start.
Maurice Becker
I like the simple look of this umbrella!
I like the simple look of this umbrella! People have commented on it, though the construction is fairly ordinary rather than anything special. It needs a steady grip when the wind catches it, but it has done the job over about two years of our few rainy months. I'd prefer a little more space in the loop handle because the amount of cover overhead is just right for me.
Lonnie Lucas
Very pleased with this umbrella!
My four year old son was so excited to have an umbrella of his own! He loves pressing the button and watching it pop up. I still help him push the shaft in after the canopy closes, but getting it open is simple for him. A real help for mom's when there's already enough to manage in the rain. Very pleased with this umbrella!
Natasha Bryant
I also like the oval handle and how easy it is to hold onto.
It came quickly. There's more coverage when it's open than I had imagined, which is a good thing. Two can squeeze underneath but mostly I wanted to be properly covered myself, even if that sounds a bit daft.I also like the oval handle and how easy it is to hold onto.I had hoped the beige fabric would look a little less creased straight out of the sleeve, but of course it's been folded up so I suppose that's asking too much, and with it open you hardly notice anyway!
Christine Gamble
Definitely pleased I chose this one.
Over the last month I've used this several times on the walk across campus. It's often breezy there, but the canopy has kept its shape and I've stayed dry. Quite reassuring when other people are wrestling with their umbrellas. I suspect there's a little umbrella envy going on! Definitely pleased I chose this one.

The look is what won me over, and it made a lovely prop in our recent stage production. The button feels a little small under my thumb, so I have to be deliberate when pressing it. That's my only real reservation, because the overall appearance is just what I wanted.
Adrian Bauer
It does everything i wanted from an umbrella.
I bought this blue umbrella recently , and i have been very pleased with it. The simple design looks smart and the blue goes nicely with what I wear. It feels well put together and has stayed steady in heavy rain and windy weather. It opens smoothly, and the canopy closes just as easily. I particularly like the grip, which sits comfortably in my hand even when carrying it for a while. The fabric and frame seem made to last, and most importantly I've stayed dry underneath. It does everything i wanted from an umbrella. I'm happy I chose it and would recommend it to anyone wanting something reliable and nicely made.
Leroy Marsh
The oval handle gives me a comfortable grip.
I'd put this somewhere above the usual folding umbrella for day to day rain, rather than call it something I'd take out in a serious storm. Living somewhere that gets a lot of wet weather, I don't bother with an umbrella for every little drizzle. When the rain is really driving sideways though, I usually reach for something much larger. This doesn't change that. I haven't had it through the worst winter weather yet so I can't say how it would behave then, and having owned small umbrellas before I'm still a little cautious about expecting too much in strong wind. As an umbrella kept in the car for those times when it's properly raining but not blowing a gale, it makes a lot more sense to me.
I was more impressed with the actual construction than I expected to be. The outer part of the frame doesn't have that very flimsy feeling that makes you nervous about touching it, and the flexible ribs seem a sensible choice for a portable umbrella. The oval handle gives me a comfortable grip. Wrapping the canopy back into a reasonably tidy bundle hasn't been the usual fiddly business either, which is a small thing until you're doing it with a wet umbrella. The fabric seems decent, and overall it seems like money went into the umbrella rather than just making it look nice in a listing.
There are a few compromises though. The open size looked more generous in the pictures than it does with me underneath it. It's fine for one adult, but I wouldn't expect to share it and have both people properly covered. The sleeve is useful to have, although getting everything rolled tightly enough to slide it back in takes more attention than I generally want to give it. I can see that being something I use when putting it away for longer, rather than every time I've just come in from outside.
The main reservation for me is how substantial it is when folded. Yes it's portable, but it's not the tiny, almost weightless sort you forget is down in your bag. For the amount of coverage, I notice the bulk more than I thought I would. That's not necessarily a bad trade if you're keeping it in a car, less ideal if you're already carrying plenty around.
Overall I'd choose this over a really flimsy little umbrella, just not over a larger one when the weather calls for it.
Priscilla Weaver
I'd gladly buy it again or recommend it.
I wanted something to take golfing that wouldn't be a nuisance to carry around. This fits that need nicely! The construction feels very good and the push button is my favorite part, especially when my hands are full. It arrived just before a rainy weekend tournament, so I got to try it almost straight away. It kept me from getting SOAKED between shots and was easy to put away afterwards. Not a giant golf canopy, but plenty useful. I'd gladly buy it again or recommend it.
Leonard Barry
Really pleased to have it back in my bag.
Working downtown means I'm often walking between buildings, and this has been so handy when rain turns up. I can hold it high enough to watch where I'm going without catching everyone else's umbrella. The cream white gets quite a few compliments too. This is my second one, since I lost the first and wanted the same thing again. Really pleased to have it back in my bag. I'd have no hesitation ordering another when I need one. A purchase I'm delighted with!!
Isabel Griffith
Just what I was after.
Just what I was after. The gray is fairly plain, which suits me, although my seven year old daughter has decided it is hers. I thought she would want something brighter but she loves using it. Of the four umbrellas we have, this is the one she finds easiest to manage. She doesn't have to struggle with getting the canopy open, just press the button and it is up. We've only had one outing with it so far. We stood in a queue for about half an hour and she stayed dry underneath it. That's all I can really judge it on yet, but on that use it did exactly what we needed.
Sheena Esparza
Otherwise it's a very good umbrella.
I get a fair amount of rain here, so after losing my cheap umbrella last year I wanted something nicer. This looks very smart and covers me comfortably, without being a full length thing to carry around. The mechanism is my only hesitation. It works fine, I just wonder how it will age.. possibly my own completely unfounded worrying. Otherwise it's a very good umbrella. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys looking a little more sophisticated/important than their actual life calls for.
Trevor Wood
I chose this for my aunt and she loves having it.
I chose this for my aunt and she loves having it. She brought it on our recent vacation and said it was a real help when we were outside in the sun for a while. It hasn't been hers long enough to say much about lasting quality, but the shade has been useful and it's kept the rain off too. From what she's told me, it's doing exactly what she wanted!
Jasmine Singleton
I've really taken to this umbrella.
I've really taken to this umbrella. I haven't been able to use it much yet (of course the rain eased off as soon as I replaced the old one it ruined), but so far it has been very handy. There is enough coverage that my hair actually stays dry, which makes me happier than it probably should. The loop handle is comfortable for me to carry, and I find the whole thing easier to manage. The pink looks pretty too. I'll come back and say so if the next spell of wet weather changes my mind, but right now I'm very pleased.
Fred Graham
shortening the pole takes a separate push by hand.
It keeps the rain off and looks sweet but, closing it all the way is more fiddly than I wanted. The button pulls the canopy in; shortening the pole takes a separate push by hand. That's awkward when I am trying to get small children through the doorway, so it isn't quite as convenient as I hoped.
