This has made going out with my three year old much easier.
Between teaching elementary school and being a mom of two boys, I spend enough time dealing with wet weather. This has made going out with my three year old much easier. He loves standing under it with me, and there is room for us to stay close without getting soaked. I keep control of the umbrella, rather than expecting him to manage the button. It is handy being able to get the canopy up quickly while keeping him beside me, and it folds down neatly afterward.

The beige umbrellas were a lovely choice for my grandchildren.
The beige umbrellas were a lovely choice for my grandchildren. At eight they're wanting things a little more grown up, rather than cartoon designs, and these suited them nicely. They seem nicely put together too. I'd happily choose them again when another umbrella is needed.
Christopher Aguilar
Very happy to have another one.
Enough cover for my hair, shoulders and purse, and I don't have to duck my whole face underneath it to stay dry. People comment on how nice it looks whenever I carry it.Actually, it was rather too popular at my old office. My first two vanished from there, so this is number three. (I'm not at that job now...)The button action is much easier on my thumbs than those old metal catches. It took a little practice to remember that the button folds the canopy and then I press the shaft back down myself. No struggle once I got the routine, and no pinching my thumbs trying to release a catch. Very happy to have another one.
Kelly Cole
For what I paid I am really pleased.
Carrying everything into the office is enough of a chore without a big umbrella as well. My previous small one kept turning inside out, so I wanted a sturdier replacement that would still go in my computer bag. This is slightly longer folded than that one, but it hasn't made the bag awkward to carry. Once open there's room to shelter me and what I'm carrying. It has done well in the windy rain here in Ohio, and I appreciate not having to wrestle with it on the walk. Looks smart too. For what I paid I am really pleased.
Nancy Banks
It is exactly the sort of everyday umbrella I wanted.
I hesitated before ordering because a photo doesn't tell you whether an umbrella will feel flimsy, heavy or properly put together. I liked the look of this one, though, and the price wasn't a huge gamble. Once it arrived I was genuinely surprised by how substantial it felt. It opens out to a useful size for me, the fabric looks good and the frame feels solid too. It is exactly the sort of everyday umbrella I wanted. For what I paid, it is far nicer than I had been expecting to get from an online purchase. I've already told several friends about it, because it isn't often I come away this pleased with something practical.
Diana Jacobs
It's a useful size and has felt solid when the wind catches it.
My usual umbrella gets most of the outings, but this one stays in my desk for unexpected rain at work. It's a useful size and has felt solid when the wind catches it. Only slight concern is that some of the stitching looks a little delicate, though it's all holding together fine so far. I'd keep an eye on that rather than call it a problem. A good little automatic umbrella for those just-in-case days.
Lee Woodard
Overall, this seems sturdy enough and reasonably priced.
My expectations of an umbrella are fairly basic: protection from rain and something manageable to carry. For the price, this one does a decent job. It dries quite quickly, opens smoothly, and the button draws the canopy closed neatly. The folded size is practical for everyday use.
Having recently bought some umbrellas as gifts, though, I noticed small finishing details that might otherwise have passed me by. A zipped carrying case is convenient. The sleeve supplied with this umbrella is rather snug, and easing it back over the folded fabric requires more patience than I would like.
Some of the umbrellas I looked at had smarter wooden handles. In actual use, however, I find this closed oval loop comfortable to hold, so appearance isn't everything. It looks slightly unusual but suits my hand well enough.
The blue is a perfectly acceptable colour, although a little plain. There are more interesting-looking umbrellas around, but the bold striped designs don't particularly appeal to me either. Something between those two extremes would have been nice. That is personal preference rather than a serious criticism.
Overall, this seems sturdy enough and reasonably priced. I would prefer an easier sleeve and perhaps a more distinctive finish. Still, the flexible ribs and smooth operation are practical details I appreciate, and I would rather have those than an umbrella chosen just because it looks smart.
Gerald Ray
It feels very solid for something that folds.
My old umbrella had reached the end of its life, so I wanted something that felt more substantial. I haven't had a properly windy rainy day to test this yet, but the frame looks well put together. It feels very solid for something that folds. There are three drawbacks - the button shuts the canopy but not the shaft;you still compress that yourself. The oval handle takes a bit of getting used to, and the weight is noticeable in my bag. I can live with those things, but for the money I'd have liked putting it away to be a little more effortless. Otherwise a promising replacement.
Melanie Browning
Works fine in the rain & didn't cost much either.
I got the cream white one because it goes with the decals on my car. That's honestly what sold me on it. Works fine in the rain & didn't cost much either. Still find myself watching for zombies when I'm out under it, which is ridiculous but there you go. For something I mainly wanted for the look, it's been a great buy!
Chris Harrington
Used it most days for shade, plus the odd shower & breezy afternoon.
During seven weeks in Thailand, this went almost everywhere with me. Used it most days for shade, plus the odd shower & breezy afternoon. It travelled in my everyday purse, and the handle was comfortable to hang onto. Standing under the canopy felt more pleasant than direct sun. Not a fashion statement, just very useful. Best of all, NO FLATTENED HAIR!

Bought this for my wife because she was after a pretty umbrella.
Bought this for my wife because she was after a pretty umbrella. It suited her nicely. She likes the way it looks, but especially that she stays dry under it when it rains. Normal rain, mind you, not the stuff blowing sideways.I'd probably choose something like this for her again.
Chelsey Riley
On balance, the design seems sensible and I'm happy with what I paid.
My four year old is delighted with it, and the construction feels decent for the money. It is a bit substantial for such a young child, so I still help with it. Children aren't exactly gentle with umbrellas, and I'm not expecting it to be indestructible. On balance, the design seems sensible and I'm happy with what I paid.

A smart looking umbrella that almost makes me mind the rain less!
A smart looking umbrella that almost makes me mind the rain less! I've got a collection of little folding umbrellas, but fancied a different look this time. Usually I'd go for a bright pattern... chose the gray instead and I'm really glad I did. It looks neat without being fussy. The fabric feels substantial, and the sleeve is useful for keeping the folded umbrella together. All told, I'm happy with what I got for the money.
Sharon Robles
The ribs don't give me that flimsy impression some umbrellas do.
Smart looking and comfortable to hold, and it has been reassuringly steady in the rain and breezes so far. The ribs don't give me that flimsy impression some umbrellas do.It folds, but check the size because it isn't one of those tiny things you forget is in your bag. I carry it when I know I'll need proper rain cover rather than wanting the smallest possible package. For somewhere with regularly wet weather, I think paying a bit more for this makes sense.
Dan Mccall
A solid everyday purchase.
Everyone in the family now has one, four altogether, and they've gone down very well. The oval handle is especially comfortable, a GOOD grip without feeling awkward in the hand. A press of the button sends the canopy up promptly. The fabric feels decent rather than papery, and it gathers together neatly when I'm putting it away. The carry sleeve slips on easily after I've let it dry, and keeps the folded fabric together in my bag instead of it spreading out over everything else. A solid everyday purchase.
Jeffery Zuniga
the material doesn't have that flimsy toy feel.
Our four year old, who wants to be a firefighter like his dad, is pleased with this umbrella. Feels quite substantial; the material doesn't have that flimsy toy feel. I wouldn't choose it for really rough wind but for normal rainy days it looks just right. We're doing the firefighter costume again for Halloween, so if the evening turns damp at least we'll have something useful to hold over him!

Being able to make my own little patch of shade helped a lot.
Back from two weeks travelling in China, and I'm so glad this umbrella went in my bag. The heat in Beijing, Xi'an, Changsha and Guangzhou was something else. Being able to make my own little patch of shade helped a lot. I was using the button several times a day and everything continued to work as it should. A gust up on the Great Wall did turn the canopy inside out, but it came back into shape without any trouble.
I'm not a fan of that greasy sunscreen feeling, especially when it's already hot and humid, so I appreciated having shade as well. Whenever we were out in the open I could have it up quickly, rather than trying to find somewhere to stand out of the sun. It wasn't just useful for the heat either; I used it during showers one afternoon in Xi'an and stayed dry.
There was room for it in my messenger bag and carrying it around all day didn't feel like a chore. I'm very fair skinned and get uncomfortable in high temperatures quite quickly. It didn't make the heat disappear, obviously, but having that bit of shelter with me made the days much easier to manage. Definitely something I'd pack again.

Isn't that really all I need from an umbrella?
I'm a fan of automatic umbrellas, and this one hasn't disappointed. After a few weeks it still feels sturdy and folds away neatly. Manual ones usually leave me wrestling with them at exactly the wrong moment. The button handles opening and folding the canopy, and I shorten the stem myself afterwards. It fits in my backpack but gives decent room over me when it's raining. Isn't that really all I need from an umbrella?
Phyllis Lloyd
A very good umbrella that I'm happy to recommend!
The automatic action on this umbrella has been excellent. One press and it opens properly, and the canopy closes just as readily with the button. We have plenty of rainy days in Florida, particularly lately, so I've already had a fair amount of use from it. It looks just as nice in person as it did in the picture. I haven't been out in much wind, so I won't pretend to know what it would do in a really windy storm. For regular rain, though, it feels solid and gives me room underneath instead of making me hunch my shoulders together. My clothes have stayed dry and I like the shape when it's open. A very good umbrella that I'm happy to recommend!

A convenient umbrella for keeping with you.
A convenient umbrella for keeping with you. Folded, it doesn't use up too much space, so it is easy to bring along just in case. When opened it gives one person comfortable shelter. Two could use it if they stood close together, but I would mainly consider it for one. A useful thing to carry for an unexpected shower rather than getting caught without anything. Recommended.
Claudia Waters
absolutely love having it!!!!!
Green is my favourite colour so yes, an umbrella in that shade got me a little excited :-). The good bits: it opens with a button, there's decent room once it's up, and that oval loop gives me something proper to hold. Had rain and a gust come through while waiting for the bus and it didn't turn inside out like ones i've had before. might sound silly but a cute girl at the stop asked if she could squeeze under it. suddenly i was the useful person for once ;-).
It's made those rainy, drizzly, almost-rainy days a bit less annoying (almost-rainy is a weather category in my head anyway). the thing i have to think about is putting it away at work. folded up it will go in my locker, which is good, but when it's wet i don't really want to shove it straight in there. so it ends up left open to dry in the break room and then i'm wondering if somebody will walk off with my nice green umbrella. apparently this is what i worry about now. at least the loop gives me a way to hang it when it's closed instead of balancing it against things.
oh and i'm not treating one successful gust as permission to go storm chasing. a friend has the same umbrella and we've both decided ordinary rainy days are quite enough for us. it's still a compact umbrella, not a roof you carry around. a bit of common sense and it does exactly what i need. little worries and all . . . absolutely love having it!!!!!

She liked the unusual handle and says the material feels good quality.
Bought one for a friends who's mad about anything French, always practising the language and wishing she could visit Paris. She liked the unusual handle and says the material feels good quality. After trying it a couple times she said pressing it shut is handy, although you still have to push the shaft back in by hand and that needs a bit of effort. She really likes being able to get the canopy out of the way with one hand when getting into the car. Trying to juggle everything and fold an umbrella in the rain is inconvinient enough already. Overall she loves using it and was pleased that I picked something useful as a gift.
Tamara Hall
Definitely worth trying!
Love having this umbrella along for our beach parties, so I'm looking at getting another. It comes to the park with me too, handy for a bit of shade while sitting around. I even take it camping when the afternoons get hot and I want some shade to carry around. Definitely worth trying!

He's such a good kid, just has his own ideas about things.
My grandson is one of those teenagers you never know what to get for. His mom suggested an umbrella and we had a little laugh about that. He's such a good kid, just has his own ideas about things. We thought, well, let's try something useful for once. What a hit!! He actually carries it about in its sleeve instead of leaving it at home. A gift he really wanted to keep with him!
Matthew Preston
This gives me a good amount of cover & feels sturdy!!
Rain doesn't stop me watching my grandson's football, which means a fair while sitting outside. This gives me a good amount of cover & feels sturdy!! Haven't had a really windy day with it yet so cant say on that. Two of us can tuck underneath if we stay close / not much room between us. Cream white looks so fresh. Really pleased with it!!

A solidly made umbrella that feels worth the money.
A solidly made umbrella that feels worth the money. I use it for golf, and it covers me well without being a nuisance to carry around. We get plenty of breezy weather here in West Texas and it has coped well with the conditions I've used it in. I'm not looking for a fancy logo, just something practical that opens easily and keeps the rain off. This does that without the price I associate with golf shop umbrellas. For somebody who values a useful umbrella over a name on the canopy, I'd happily recommend it.
Jasmin Ferrell
It can keep the rain off as well so yay!
I'm using this for a lolita cosplay and it fits the look so well. Love having a proper umbrella for it, not just something decorative. You still need to be gentle with it like any umbrella, don't go yanking it about. It can keep the rain off as well so yay! Would recommend for cosplay, not for playing about <.<

Otherwise it feels well built and has been dependable.
Good amount of cover when open, yet it fits easily in my small backpack. Could see it being useful tucked under the car seat as a spare for surprise showers too. . A bit long folded for my briefcase, although that isn't where I keep it. The button shuts the canopy, but I do wish it shortened the pole as well. Otherwise it feels well built and has been dependable.

These were bought after I lost an umbrella I'd been using for over six years. They feel sturdy and have been useful already, especially with how often it rains here. The old one had quite a bit more space underneath, which I hadn't really thought about until trying to share. These sit a little closer around us and aren't quite as comfortable for two people. For walking on my own they're absolutely fine, just don't expect the same room as a bigger umbrella.

Walking the golf course in sunshine is much nicer with a bit of shade overhead. This umbrella makes it feel less tiring for me, especially when there's nowhere shady to stop. Another golfer let me try standing under his and that's what convinced me to get one. Glad he suggested it, I'm much happier carrying my own shade round the course

a very good buy.
a very good buy. I took it along for a rainy winter in europe and it's been dependable. Compact folded shape, manageable weight and rolls up neatly after use. plenty of coverage for me and my briefcase, without feeling like I'm huddling under a tiny canopy. Pressing the button to open or gather the canopy is handy with one hand occupied. I do need to lift or angle it when passing people on busy pavements, but keeping dry is worth that.
Luke Cunningham
Not much handle to get hold of.
Pros:1. Packs down to go in most of my bags.2. Open canopy gives useful coverage for my wife, baby and me, provided we stay close together.3. We live with tropical downpours and the material has not let rain soak through onto us.4. Button opening and canopy closing make getting through doors or into the car much easier in a storm.5. The oval loop makes it convenient to carry.6. Six months of regular use and the opening/closing has been dependable, better than my previous umbrellas managed.Cons;1. Not much handle to get hold of. In gusty weather I need to grip a little above it as well, otherwise my thumb can catch the button when I'm hanging on. A bigger grip would suit me better.

I'm almost disappointed when there isn't any rain
Received mine as a gift and I absolutely love the simple design and the lovely feel of it. Everything arrived in good condition, and it opens and closes as it should. One of those umbrellas you actually enjoy having with you. I'm almost disappointed when there isn't any rain

Handy having one where I need it.
Lost my old little umbrella at the bar and it never came back. A mate at work had one of these, so I took a chance.1. Supports look strong, not those flimsy bits2. Push button opening - quick and easy3. Good value! For what it costs, I'm impressed4. Wasn't excited about plain black at first, but it's grown on me now.I wanted one for work, one to leave in the car, and another at home. Handy having one where I need it. Happy.

Received the umbrella and it matches what I expected.
Received the umbrella and it matches what I expected. Construction seems sound and the canopy opens and closes smoothly with the button. There is a sleeve to put it in afterward. The oval loop gives a good grip without an awkward hook. Overall I am satisfied and would recommend it to others.

Boston can be awful for wind so I wanted something sturdy.
A birthday gift ..early when I bought it / late when we finally gave it to her. Boston can be awful for wind so I wanted something sturdy. My daughter said it did well in a rainy blustery spell !!! And the gray was just her sort of color !! Mom got this one right ;-)
Cristian Gilbert
A very good umbrella.
A very good umbrella. Feels steady when there's a breeze. I would point out that the useful space underneath is more one-person than the open size might suggest. That suits me, because I get proper shelter without waving an enormous canopy around other walkers. You could squeeze another person beside you, but I wouldn't buy it mainly to share. For myself, excellent.
Rodney Yang
A good choice for me.
I'd gone without an umbrella for a while and came across this while browsing, which was enough to get me looking again. My wife says I always end up choosing gray things, so no surprise what I picked. It isn't a particularly exciting colour, but I am completely satisfied with the umbrella itself. It was packed neatly and looked fine when I took it out. I had wondered whether a compact one would give me enough cover, and opening it answered that. There's a decent amount overhead without having a long stick to find a home for afterwards. Folded, it is still a proper sized item rather than one of those tiny things you forget you've got. The closed loop handle feels comfortable in my hand, and I can see this being handy for shade as well as getting caught in a shower. A good choice for me.
Charlotte Crawford
Excellent for commuting.
Excellent for commuting. One press and the canopy is up, so I'm not standing around fiddling in the rain. Another press gathers it shut before I shorten the pole. The sleeve actually slides on without a struggle, which I appreciate. Smart enough to take to work too.
Donna Williams
It looks nice and it has been fine for the ordinary rain we get.
This suited my four year old's wish to have an umbrella of her own. It looks nice and it has been fine for the ordinary rain we get. I wouldn't choose it for her to handle alone in a lot of wind, though. She enjoys the button and can get it open, while I help with packing it down afterwards. It's a little more umbrella than a small child needs, but she loves carrying it!
Stanley Johnson
The umbrella was very nicely packed and I am pleased with it.
The umbrella was very nicely packed and I am pleased with it. Thank you). It has some weight to it, a substantial umbrella, very nice green colour outside and black on the underside. The handle button releases it to open fully. Closing is the same button, which brings the canopy together, afterwards the long stem needs to be pushed down manually with a bit of effort. So the canopy is automatic, the stem is not. It looks good when open and is a generous size for keeping the rain off. Thank you).
Charles Gillespie
Been a good buy.
Wasn't expecting all that much at this price, but these have done well with the family using them all the time. They aren't only for golf either. One stays with my golf things, another waits by the back door for taking the dogs out, and there's one in the car for those times you get caught without anything. Been a good buy.
Rita Gill
Fantastic umbrella!
Fantastic umbrella! Folds small enough for my bag, but opened up there's enough cover that a friend always wants to squeeze underneath!I'm a grad student with far too much to carry already, and this has helped me out plenty of times. Feels solid, looks smart and has been dependable.

I also bought a full length umbrella with a curved handle.
I've bought six umbrellas now and this has been the best all round for me. Some have felt tougher, but the extra bulk and weight makes them less handy. This one folds down reasonably short yet covers a good area when opened, and it has kept me dry and felt steady in the wind. It looks quite smart too. At about 40cm folded it fits in my laptop bag, with a canopy around 105cm across when open. The flexible ribs give it a solid feel without making it a burden to carry. There is one small thing, pushing the shaft back in after the button closes the canopy takes a fair bit of force. I have to give it a firm push until it catches, hopefully that means it's well made.. I also bought a full length umbrella with a curved handle. That one is light and has the traditional look I like, but it means always having an umbrella in my hand rather than tucked in a bag.
Brandy Wright
I make sure to leave it open until dry before putting it away.
My daughter's little umbrealla from last year has lasted well and is still cute, which got me thinking about a larger one for myself. I wanted to be able to carry my purse and the baby and keep everything out of the rain. The cream white canopy is pretty, with black on the underneath. I was a little unsure whether a folding one would feel too thin, but it seems quite substantial when you have it open. Tried it last week during this rainy June and it worked nicely with the baby held close. It's not huge, so you can't spread out much, but for what I needed it was fine. I make sure to leave it open until dry before putting it away. Seems better than packing it up damp and then leaving it like that.

For what I paid, I think the build and the coverage are excellent.
Walking down the side walk in a downpour with two other people really sold me on this umbrella. Their umbrellas were being blown backwards and mine was staying put...that says more to me than a description can! Of course I still hold it into the breeze. No umbrella is going to act like a brick wall in every gust, lets be realistic. The canopy gives me good shelter without having to hunch right up underneath it. For what I paid, I think the build and the coverage are excellent.

I did not quite believe all the praise for this umbrella...
I did not quite believe all the praise for this umbrella... but I have to say it has won me over! Angling it into the rain makes more difference than I thought. There is still a little learning how to use it. A press to open, another to close the canopy, and then you shorten the pole yourself (with is not so handy when you are boarding a bus). But on the whole, I am very happy. The windy corners of old Montreal don't have me worrying about my umbrella every time now, after what happened to several older ones! I would say give this one a chance.

VERY HAPPY TO HAVE IT, WHEN SOMEBODY HASN'T PINCHED IT FIRST
THE UMBRELLA EVERYONE IN OUR HOUSE WANTS TO TAKE, AND EASILY MY FAVOURITE OF THE ONES WE OWN. WHOEVER GETS OUT THE DOOR FIRST ON A WET MORNING CLAIMS IT , LEAVING EVERYBODY ELSE WITH THE LESS POPULAR OPTIONS. IT COVERS MY CLOTHES WELL AND FEELS GOOD AND STURDY, BUT STILL FOLDS DOWN WHEN I'M FINISHED. I SPENT A LITTLE MORE THAN I NORMALLY WOULD AND HAVE NO REGRETS! VERY HAPPY TO HAVE IT, WHEN SOMEBODY HASN'T PINCHED IT FIRST

It was the shape and simple look that first caught my eye.
It was the shape and simple look that first caught my eye. So pretty. Folds down neatly, although it takes a little more room than my previous folding one. I held back one star because a gust can still turn the canopy over. The nice part is that mine went back into shape and wasn't damaged when it happened. I am happy with it overall and still enjoy taking it out when it rains.

When rain gets really heavy, my legs still end up wet.
I've had umbrellas that seemed fine at first, so I wanted to give this one some use before judging it. After two seasons everything is still working as it should, and the canopy is holding up nicely. It seems sturdier than I expected. I just wish it gave me more coverage lower down. When rain gets really heavy, my legs still end up wet.
