Certainly worth recommending.

Had this for a few weeks and it has already been out several times. Its a compact umbrella that packs away neatly. The button opening is positive and it folds the canopy down promptly too. The flexible ribs have coped well with ordinary breezes and feel more substantial than some folding umbrellas I've used. Construction seems above average to me. Certainly worth recommending.

Pros:- Good protection in the rain.

Had it about a year and a half.Pros:- Good protection in the rain.- Has handled gusty days well enough.Cons:- The oval handle isn't especially comfortable in my hand.- Quite bulky once folded for something called compact.- The canopy closes with the button, but pushing the shaft down afterwards takes more effort than I'd like. Useful, just not quite my ideal umbrella.

Funny how excited kids get over an umbrella!

Brought this as a spare in case our other umbrella goes missing and I'm really glad I did! My son is especially taken with the loop handle. Keeps wanting to carry it round the house even when there's no rain. Funny how excited kids get over an umbrella! Would be a lovely little gift for someone as well!

This umbrella has a lovely light colour.

This umbrella has a lovely light colour. The cream white makes a wet day feel a little less gloomy. Only had it a couple of days and have taken it out twice already. It opens to a bigger size than I was expecting, nearly as much cover as my husband's. Seems nicely made also. I'm pleased with it and hopefully it will be with me for a long time. P.s. It is little darker than the picture, not much but I notice it. Still a very pretty umbrella.

Summer here in Las Vegas goes on for ages, and the sun is fierce even when it's cool enough to walk outside. That's why I bought this umbrella, mainly for shade on those daytime walks. It's comfortable to hold and gives me a useful patch of shade without being too heavy. I wouldn't mind it being a little shorter when packed away, but the construction seems good and I expect to keep using it.

For what I need, this umbrella suits me really well.

For what I need, this umbrella suits me really well. There is room under it and it feels steady in the gusty rain we get here. I had a couple of umbrellas like this before, then managed to leave one some place and never got it back. Wasn't pleased with myself over that. This one is the replacement and so far I'm happy with it. It has been years since I bought those other umbrella's, so I was wondering what the quality would be like now. It seems well put together and I'm hoping to keep track of this one.

Mallory Lang

Very happy with this umbrella.

Very happy with this umbrella. It feels sturdy when it's up and the gray is much like the shade shown. There is a useful amount of coverage for someone carrying bags, walking a dog, or pushing a stroller. Two people can tuck under it if they stay close, although I would mainly think of it as a roomy umbrella for one. Opening it takes just a press and it comes up smoothly. The button also brings the canopy down, which is handy when my hands are full. You do still have to push the telescoping sections together afterwards. That isn't difficult, but I usually sort out what I'm holding before putting it away. I don't mind taking a moment over that when it has done such a good job keeping me dry. It has kept the rain off me nicely, even in a proper downpour. Folded up, it's around 40cm long, so it goes in a suitcase and could fit a decent sized bag, but I wouldn't expect it to disappear into a small purse. Still much more convenient than a full length umbrella. The closed loop handle gives me something secure to hold and somewhere to hang it when it isn't in use. For what I paid, it feels like a very nice purchase. I spent some time comparing umbrellas and am glad I settled on this one. I'm considering another as a gift for a couple I know.

It also folds down neatly, which makes it a useful item to offer.

This is going into the silent auction for our golf outing breast cancer fund-raiser. The umbrella feels nicely made, and I appreciate the automatic opening and canopy closing. It also folds down neatly, which makes it a useful item to offer. I'm glad to have something both practical and attractive for the event!!

The canopy is smaller than I had in mind.

The canopy is smaller than I had in mind. My last automatic umbrella gave me more space underneath and I would have liked that sort of size again. This one is light to carry, though the center shaft feels rather thin to me. I've had it out just once, with a bit of wind, and it coped perfectly well. Anything much stronger I can't really judge yet. I wouldn't call the coverage particularly generous. It is fine for a light shower, and handy when you don't want much to carry. For a long walk in heavier rain I would want something wider, as I don't think my legs would stay very dry with this. Overall it works well, just not the size I was hoping for. A bigger umbrella would be my preference for that kind of use, even though the larger one I had was heavier too.

Bethany Leonard

I've had mine for a year and everything still feels solid.

City sidewalks are full of two extremes: umbrellas that barely cover someone's head and golf umbrellas that seem to need their own lane. I wanted neither. At 6'4, I need some actual coverage, but I don't want to shove everybody else off the pavement to get it. This is a sensible middle ground. It looks smart, too. I can carry it to a business meeting in a suit without looking like I've just wandered away from a golf tournament carrying a giant advertisement. The rain stays off, and it has been fine on breezy days as well. I've had mine for a year and everything still feels solid. No drama, no ridiculous size, just an umbrella that does what I need.

How much can anyone really write about an umbrella?

How much can anyone really write about an umbrella? Enough to discover that I've already spent a sentence avoiding the subject (grin). In practical terms, it is a useful size when open and doesn't feel flimsy in the rain. I'm six feet tall and rather generously built (more generously than I need to be), and it gives me decent cover. Packed away, it goes into my bag without a struggle, although it's a little thicker than the miniature sort I used to carry. That is my small reservation rather than a serious complaint. The button opening is convenient and the overall feel is reassuring. A sensible umbrella to reach for when the clouds have other ideas!

Michele Rivera

Very happy with it.

Cheap umbrellas used to be something I was always replacing, and paying more didn't necessarily get me one that lasted. This one has been with me for 3 YEARS now and gets used pretty much daily. That is a lot of opening, folding and carrying about. The mechanism still feels smooth, and the canopy closes with the button just as it did at the start. It has coped with the gusty days I've taken it out in without ending up ruined. I don't expect a compact umbrella to handle absolutely anything, but for my everyday use it has been exceptionally dependable. I'm back for a second one because I don't want to be without it. Very happy with it.

It folds down small, seems solid and the button is simple to use.

My wife needed a replacement after her last umbrella was taken at the ballpark entrance. They wouldn't let her bring it in, and she never got it back. This pink one even goes with her car. It folds down small, seems solid and the button is simple to use. She was delighted with her present. We haven't had rainy weather to try it properly yet, but so far it looks like a very nice replacement.

Tanya Arnold

I honestly didn't expect to be this excited over an umbrella.

I honestly didn't expect to be this excited over an umbrella. I kept looking at the picture and wondering if the pink would be as lovely in person, then finally decided to order it. Opening the package was such a nice surprise because it really does look gorgeous. The pink against that dark inside is so pretty when it opens, I keep looking up at it which probably sounds ridiculous but there you go! I was a bit worried that something this nice looking would be more for show than actual rainy days. Well it has already been out in the rain with me and I came home dry, so that worry has gone. The button opening is another thing I cant get enough of, just press and there it is. Even the sleeve made me happy, I can put it away neatly instead of having a loose umbrella taking over my bag. It is one of those purchases that just makes a miserable wet day a little more fun. Honestly I love having something useful that is also so pretty to carry :)

Craig Meadows

It feels very well made too.

With six children to keep track of, anything I can manage one handed gets my vote! The button means I'm not fumbling with an umbrella while holding a little hand. It feels very well made too. The loop handle clips to my bag, sooooo handy when I need both hands for everyone else. No windy day test from me yet, but so far I'm delighted with it!

Lydia Owen

It's solid, it's pink, but the best part.....

It's solid, it's pink, but the best part.....it opens into a PROPER umbrella. Folded up it doesn't look like it could cover much, then out it pops. I don't see why a guy couldn't carry it either. Pink isn't going to make the rain any wetter for him. Give me something sturdy that fits my hand and I'm ready to strut about like I own the weather.

Joanna Bean

Ready for rain, ready for rain, ready for rain.

When I was choosing an umbrella, I spent a while reading what people had written. This one appealed because of it's compact shape and the comments about coverage. Seeing it open, I understood the appeal. There is enough canopy above me to shelter my hair and shoulders without feeling buried underneath it. I can still see ahead if I hold it at a sensible height. Around other people, it's manageable too, not a great awkward thing to carry. I am delighted. Ready for rain, ready for rain, ready for rain.

Connie Becker

The size is good, too.

These feel nicely made and will be just right as thank you gifts for the ladies hosting my baby shower. I wanted something pretty that wouldn't just sit on a shelf, and an umbrella is genuinely useful. The size is good, too. I'm happy with the choice and think they'll be delighted!

Matthew Galloway

My two and a half year old son loves the pink umbrella.

Reading the reviews had me expecting to send it back, so I was pleasantly surprised. It arrived in good shape and has seen us through three decent rain showers already. My two and a half year old son loves the pink umbrella. I hold it over him and there's enough canopy to keep him dry. Very sweet.

Drew Morgan

Feels much better made than I had anticipated.

Feels much better made than I had anticipated. Folded up it's a little chunky, so I wouldn't choose it for a tiny handbag. For me that's fine. The button opening and canopy closing are very convenient, and once it's open there is noticeably more coverage than I expected from a folding umbrella.

Gerald Mcpherson

People have said nice things about it on our walks too.

A friend I walk with wanted something "pretty" rather than just any umbrella. I gave her this one and she seems delighted with it. People have said nice things about it on our walks too. It came in good condition and she's had no trouble with it over the past year.

Christine Bennett

Solidly built and has handled the wet, breezy weather I've used it…

Solidly built and has handled the wet, breezy weather I've used it in without fuss. The canopy covers me well rather than leaving my shoulders hanging out in the rain. Once folded, it fits in my backpack and is handy to keep in the car too.I would recommend it to anyone wanting a straightforward umbrella they can actually bring along instead of leaving at home.

Miranda Diaz

A bit of a French nerd really.

Picked this as a gift for a friend who studies French, speaks it all the time, and is forever talking about visiting Paris. A bit of a French nerd really. She loves the umbrella for its design and says the material feels good quality. The first few times she used it she did mention needing some strength to push the shaft back in after closing it. The canopy comes down with the button which she loves, then you do that last part by hand. She says that makes things easier getting into the car when it's raining, rather than trying to hold everything and bring the umbrella down at once. Overall she is very happy with it and I'm glad I chose it for her.

Brady Villa

Easy to use and a much nicer thing to carry on a wet day!

My old umbrella flipped inside out in a rainstorm and wouldn't straighten out, so I replaced it with this.It looks really attractive and gives me better cover. A press opens it, another draws the canopy shut, then I press the stem down by hand. Easy to use and a much nicer thing to carry on a wet day!

Yolanda Pruitt

excellent for the wet winter in europe.

excellent for the wet winter in europe. It has been coming along with me and has earned its place. Packs down neatly, rolls up without a struggle and gives plenty of shelter for me and my briefcase. enough room to squeeze another person in if needed. The automatic opening and canopy closing help when my other hand is full. On busy pavements I do lift it a little to pass people, as it opens wider than you expect. Very happy with it.

Jaime Rodriguez

There is only so much you can tuck under a folding umbrella.....

As far as I understand it, an umbrella's main task is to stop you getting rained on. This one does that pretty well, and it has coped nicely with the breezy streets here in New York. That's worth something. My sleeves can still get damp when the rain comes sideways, though, especially if I'm carrying things. There is only so much you can tuck under a folding umbrella.....but it's a decent compromise for carrying around.

Clarence Cummings

For the money, I consider it a very good buy.

After owning a few rather flimsy umbrellas, this one is a welcome change. The frame feels substantial and the canopy gives me enough coverage to keep my shoulders dry when it rains. I've used it in breezy weather without having to wrestle with it, although I wouldn't deliberately test any compact umbrella in a serious storm. Some of my earlier ones felt ready to turn inside out at every puff of wind. This one inspires rather more confidence. It folds up neatly too, so I'm not stuck carrying a long umbrella about. For the money, I consider it a very good buy.

THE COVER IS A GOOD SIZE FOR ME AND MY CLOTHES STAY DRY.

FINALLY AN UMBRELLA THAT EVERYONE IN THIS HOUSE WANTS TO USE. I KEEP REACHING FOR IT WHEN RAIN STARTS AND FINDING SOMEBODY ELSE HAS ALREADY TAKEN IT , SO I'M LEFT PICKING THROUGH THE OLD ONES. THE COVER IS A GOOD SIZE FOR ME AND MY CLOTHES STAY DRY. IT FEELS MUCH MORE SUBSTANTIAL THAN WHAT WE HAD BEFORE, AND ALTHOUGH I SPENT A BIT MORE THAN I USUALLY WOULD, I DON'T REGRET A PENNY

Yvette Bean

Well...

Well...I've had some nice comments on how it looks, I can give it that, but I was expecting a bit more for the money. It seems MUCH smaller overhead than I pictured, really just room for me...and folded it's still quite bulky in my bag, which surprised me. It keeps the rain off and the button works fine, so it's not useless...I just don't find the size or the overall feel that impressive, worth thinking about before you buy

I like this umbrella a lot.

I like this umbrella a lot. I expected about one month for it to come, but it was here in two weeks. The blue looks more beautiful when I see it than the photo. Here in Seattle we have so many raining days. I wanted it not only for keeping dry, also the nice colour. It reminds me a little of blue sky even when there is none outside. I feel a little happier having this to look at on a raining day.

Janet Mendoza

A good buy in my opinion.

A good buy in my opinion. There is a decent amount of cover when it is open and it feels sturdy, which I appreciate more than having the tiniest possible umbrella. I also felt the price was fair compared with smaller ones I had looked at. The one thing I did notice was a new-material smell round the handle. Not a horrible smell, just a peculiar one, and I could notice it on my hand after carrying it. Over the last few weeks it has become much less obvious, so I am expecting it to disappear with a bit more time. It hasn't put me off using the umbrella. For me a temporary odd smell is a small compromise for an umbrella that does the job at this price.

Jenna Donovan

I'm pleased to have this one.

A sensible size for rainy days in the city, with enough cover without making me feel like I'm blocking the whole pavement. It feels sturdy rather than flimsy and isn't a nuisance to carry. You still need to turn it towards the rain when the wind changes, obviously, but that's normal with a handheld umbrella. I'm pleased to have this one.

Craig Monroe

Those very rounded ones aren't for me.

I started out wanting an umbrella that would let the daylight through (rainy days are gloomy enough already), but kept coming back to the shape. Those very rounded ones aren't for me. I like being able to see past the edge without having a canopy curving down around my face. Then I thought about how I'd actually carry it, and a folding one made more sense than the picture I had in mind. So I ended up choosing black and a more ordinary shape instead. Not the look I started out seeking, but a compromise I'm very happy with.

Tiffany Singh

I can see keeping this in the car for occasional use.

Haven't had proper rain to try it in yet, so this is mostly about the size and how it feels to use.First impression, compact, yes, but I wanted a little more cover. Im an average sized man and it seems fine for getting caught in a shower, less ideal for walking around in steady rain. The folding design is handy, though it doesn't feel as substantial in my hand as a full length umbrella. Nothing has gone wrong with it, I just prefer a more solid feel when extending it and packing it away. The loop handle is a clever idea for carrying but not my favourite shape to grip for a long time. I can see keeping this in the car for occasional use. If it was going to be my main umbrella all rainy season, I'd want more coverage and a grip I liked better.

Carolyn Sellers

In heavier, windy rain I don't find it quite as comfortable.

The most useful part for me is opening it as I get out of the car. Much less standing around getting wet. I've also carried it to the nearby cafes and shops, and for an ordinary shower it works nicely. In heavier, windy rain I don't find it quite as comfortable. My reservation is putting it away afterwards. Neatening all the folds takes some patience, and the packed umbrella isn't especially tiny (if you're used to a very small folding one, you'll notice). The sleeve is a snug fit unless I've wrapped it carefully, so I sometimes leave that off. Still worth keeping for those car journeys.

Bailey Page

It is lovely to see her so keen to go out under it.

Our two year old granddaughter is delighted with this umbrella and so are we. It seems solidly put together, which matters when little hands want to touch everything. We help with the button and hold it with her, since this isn't a tiny children's umbrella. It is lovely to see her so keen to go out under it. I think she and her older sister will get plenty of enjoyment from it over the summer.

Lydia Lawson

First impression is good, although only time will tell how it wears.

First impression is good, although only time will tell how it wears. The cream white top and black underneath look neat together, and the size suits me. Button operation is working well at present. Packaging was rather minimal, just a plastic bag and not much protection. Another umbrella I received came in a proper box, so I wasn't impressed by that part. Fortunately this one looks fine and I can't see any marks or damage. Still needs a proper outing in the rain. On what I've seen so far, I'm happy to give it five stars.

Hector Davies

My first impression of the build is excellent, though.

I've only had mine for a week, so I can't pretend this is a long term report. My first impression of the build is excellent, though. A press of the button brings it up neatly, and the canopy gives me a comfortable amount of shelter rather than just covering my head.

Isaac Fernandez

Anyway she is very happy with her umbrella !

My teenage daughter received this for Easter ! She LOVES it ! Says it looks really smart and loves pressing the button to open it.I think I left my comments in the wrong place before so sorry for the muddle...Anyway she is very happy with her umbrella ! Thank you !

Darin Price

Luckily it also works nicely in the rain & didn't cost too much.

Bought the blue one because it goes with the decals on my car, which was honestly my main concern. Luckily it also works nicely in the rain & didn't cost too much. I still catch myself looking through the rain for zombies, apparently my imagination comes along on every walk. Silly reason to choose an umbrella but I'm happy with how this turned out!

Kelsey Lawson

I'm hoping to get a good few seasons from it.

After a season of regular use, including some properly wet days, I'm still very pleased with this umbrella. It looks very tidy, but what matters more to me is how securely everything feels put together. The stem feels substantial and there is no sense of it being flimsy when open. I'm hoping to get a good few seasons from it. It wasn't a throwaway price, so I did expect a well made item. So far that expectation has been met. I'll add more if anything changes.

Debra Stevenson

The umbrella looks fine, I opened it and it works fine.

Another package here today; there were several orders together, so I went through them one by one. The umbrella looks fine, I opened it and it works fine. I will probably get a few more umbrellas to have them ready. It folds up again, everything stays together, all there seems okay. At first I thought it looked rather small when folded, but opened out there is enough cover. So that part is fine too. I had ordered several things and was checking them all, then came back to this one. Push the button and it opens, push again and the canopy comes down. Then you push the pole in yourself. Nothing complicated when you have done it. In general I am pleased. I was thinking two more, then maybe several more, I have not decided yet. The package is put away now but I took the umbrella out again to look. Seems quite solid, and the folding is fine. So yes, I would recommend this one.

Phyllis Velazquez

For keeping the rain off, I think it is a good umbrella.

For keeping the rain off, I think it is a good umbrella. It has been fine in the breezy weather I've used it in. My gripe is the folded size, as it won't go in the umbrella slot on my golf bag. I had expected a folding umbrella to fit there a little easier. I can carry it separately, so not a big problem. It looks smart and overall I'm pleased!

Tamara Gonzalez

This folds down neatly but has a good spread when opened.

This folds down neatly but has a good spread when opened. It feels solid without being too much to carry. Its got a button to open it and draw the canopy shut, then you press the pole down yourself. There is a sleeve supplied as well. You need to arrange the folds fairly neatly before trying to slide it back inside.

Colin Lawrence

Overall it's been a good buy for me.

I'm so glad I chose the Cream White. It has a smart look and the oval loop handle is a nice detail, easy to hold onto. The whole umbrella looks a bit more expensive than it was and feels sturdy when it's open. Folds away neatly as well. Overall it's been a good buy for me.

Don Gill

Nothing has folded back on me so far.

My 2 umbrella's have seen years of rain, can't see much reason to change them. I've passed people struggling with theirs blowing inside out & been glad mine stayed put. Nothing has folded back on me so far. Sometimes it's more about keeping my grip when the wind picks up, rather than worrying about the frame giving way.

Alice Sheppard

I wanted an umbrella to keep in car door pocket for the sudden…

I wanted an umbrella to keep in car door pocket for the sudden rain here in South Florida. It's come in handy already, including in blustery weather without flipping over. The cover is quite generous for a folding umbrella and two of us can squeeze under when we need to.

Alexandra Bullock

The quality seems very good.

The quality seems very good. I've been using it for shade and it gives me plenty of cover as an adult. Opening it is simple, and a press of the button brings the canopy down again. Not a burden to carry about either. The included sleeve is handy for putting it away afterwards. A very useful little umbrella.Thank you!

Maurice Cline

Worth spending a little extra for an umbrella like this!

Really pleased I gave up on those cheap street umbrellas that nearly take my eye out when I'm wrestling them open. This one opens with a button and has handled windy weather well. Feels solid and well made...it got me through a whole NYC winter. Worth spending a little extra for an umbrella like this!

Brenda Maxwell

Feels fairly solid too, and wind hasn't caused me trouble.

I'm six feet tall and get enough cover from this. Feels fairly solid too, and wind hasn't caused me trouble.update: had it with me in Korea through the rainy season and was glad I'd packed it. Kept me dry when I needed it. Carrying it around every day did get a little tiresome, even though it folds down, but it earned its place.
