Best one I've had so far, honestly.

Best one I've had so far, honestly.Nice fabric, feels tough and has stayed steady in the wind here in Austin. Its compact, but don't read that as tiny. Folded it still needs room, not something for your pocket.Pink is pretty, though probably not the choice if you're worried about every little mark.

For what I paid, this is a very good deal.

For what I paid, this is a very good deal. I was mainly looking at the cost, but the umbrella doesn't feel like something bought just because it was cheap. The frame has a solid feel and the button works without a struggle. Even without any special bargain I think I'd be satisfied with it. I'd buy another, and wouldn't mind giving one as a gift.

A good umbrella for the money.

A good umbrella for the money. I paid most of the amount with coupons and only a little by card. Everything was in good condition, which pleased me since it was bought with coupons. The whole purchase went smoothly and the umbrella works properly. Thank you for a good product. It arrived quite quickly and I am satisfied.

i've been getting on well with this umbrella.

i've been getting on well with this umbrella. I wouldn't choose a compact one for the worst storms, but it has coped nicely with heavy rain and the gusts I've encountered. The materials feel decent and nothing seems flimsy so far. A couple of people at work have admired it too. The black looks as shown in the picture. For the money, I think it's a good buy.

Looks nice at first glance, now to find out how it wears.

Looks nice at first glance, now to find out how it wears. Gray on top with a black underside, and the open size suits me. The button action has been smooth in the few tests I've done. I wasn't impressed by the packing, only a plastic bag and nothing much protecting it. Another umbrella I received recently had its own box, which seemed more sensible. Still, this one arrived without marks or damage, so no harm done. I haven't tried it outdoors in rain yet. On what I've seen so far, five stars.

It feels steady in my hand as well.

The wind where I live in Philadelphia can make carrying an umbrella a real nuisance. I was hoping this would be a bit more substantial, and so far it has been. I've taken it out several times and haven't ended up wrestling with a turned over canopy. It feels steady in my hand as well. My only real note is the folded size. It takes up a fair amount of my messenger bag, so I wouldn't expect it to disappear into a small purse. That doesn't particularly bother me. I'd rather allow a little room for something that feels dependable than carry a tiny umbrella I'm nervous about using when the weather gets blustery.

Sabrina Rios

The coverage has been adequate for me in ordinary rain.

The blue umbrella has a fairly substantial feel for something described as compact. There are thirty flexible ribs supporting the canopy, and the action has been smooth. It has seen some light breezes without turning inside out, although this does not tell me what it would do in substantially stronger wind. One point concerning operation: the automatic closing refers to the canopy. A press of the button opens it, and another press brings the fabric and ribs together. The telescoping part still needs to be compressed manually afterwards. I mention this because closing the canopy and reducing the overall length are two different operations on this umbrella. The approximate dimensions useful for comparison are: opened, 105 centimetres across; folded, 40 centimetres long; weight, 390 grams. These figures describe a reasonably broad canopy on a handheld umbrella, not a particularly small object when folded. Width across an open umbrella is not the same thing as the length of fabric measured over its curve. For practical purposes I am interested in the space underneath it, rather than a larger figure obtained by following the material. The coverage has been adequate for me in ordinary rain. It should also be noted that forty centimetres is still forty centimetres to find room for when carrying it. Compact here means shorter than its extended form, not something that disappears into any small pocket. If comparing umbrellas, I would suggest checking both the folded length and the type of handle, rather than relying on photographs alone. This one has an enclosed oval loop instead of a hooked handle. The supplied sleeve keeps the folded fabric together, but does not make the whole thing appreciably shorter. Finally, it is an umbrella rather than a walking support. I would not put body weight on it or knock the end against hard ground simply because it feels substantial in use. Used for its intended purpose, I have found it sturdy, straightforward to operate, and satisfactory for keeping the rain off.

The frame seems strong.

We get so much rain here that I gave my fiance this umbrella for Christmas. He is fussy about what he carries, especially if it looks or feels cheap. He has been taking it everywhere and hasn't had any trouble with it. The frame seems strong. Being tall, he likes having decent coverage without carrying some enormous umbrella down the sidewalk. It is manageable around other people and folds up when he doesn't need it. I wasn't sure he would use it so much, but he does.

Ian Mccall

Happy to have that worry sorted out.

Ordered a few as a rainy-day backup for my daughter's yacht club wedding, mostly so the beach photographs could still happen. Am hoping that having them ready means they won't be needed. They seem nicely made for an ordinary shower, though I wouldn't expect miracles in a storm. The pink is quite bright and should look pretty in pictures. There is decent cover for one person, or two if they stand close together. Mine arrived quickly and the price seemed much more reasonable than the options I had looked at nearby. Happy to have that worry sorted out.

It's just right for that.

For my birthday I was given this umbrella in green, as I'd wanted something small enough for my work bag but not flimsy. It's just right for that. Doesn't weigh the bag down much, folds away neatly, and springs open with a press when I step out into rain. My older umbrella has done years of service and still functions, though it looks rather tired now. Hoping this one proves just as dependable over time. A very welcome present for the daily commute!

Hunter Abbott

It has proved a worthwhile purchase.

After getting through far too many cheap umbrellas, I spent some time reading about what made a better one worth buying. This seemed reasonably priced for something that felt more substantial, rather than another flimsy thing to throw away. It has proved a worthwhile purchase. The frame feels sturdy and the canopy has kept me dry without any fuss. I also find the oval loop handle comfortable, which matters more to me than I thought it would. Customer service was helpful and straightforward as well, with no complicated back and forth.I appreciate that it folds down for carrying, but it still feels like a proper umbrella when opened. Not something I would describe as tiny enough for a pocket, and that is fine with me. It would make a useful present. I would check prices before deciding where to buy, though, as it pays to compare. For anyone fed up with flimsy umbrellas, this is one I can happily recommend.

Chad Blackwell

There is a little heft to it.

Opening it for the first time was a surprise--the folded size had led me to expect less coverage. It's not enormous, but in a light sprinkle I do feel rather thoroughly equipped. My main concern is keeping my laptop bag dry along with my shoulders, though, and I've been glad of the room overhead. Someone else could squeeze alongside me, although neither of us would have much space to spare. The oval loop feels comfortable in my hand, and both the fabric and the telescoping section seem substantial rather than flimsy. I've had it about a month, so that's an impression rather than a prediction about years of use. There is a little heft to it. Being compact doesn't make it something you forget you're carrying, and for a child I'd probably look for a lighter option. Packing it away is fairly straightforward: the button draws the canopy closed, then I compress the shaft myself. Once it's wrapped and in its sleeve, it makes a tidy bundle instead of leaving loose folds catching on everything in my bag. I'd recommend it to someone who puts staying dry ahead of having the absolute smallest umbrella available. It folds down usefully, without feeling skimpy when opened. Less suitable if your idea of portable is something that vanishes into a tiny coat pocket, or if you like to weave through a crowded pavement without thinking about the space above your head.

Shane Stout

On unpacking it I thought the frame felt surprisingly substantial.

I wanted an umbrella my 3 year old could use with me rather than something that felt like a toy. On unpacking it I thought the frame felt surprisingly substantial. She's been out with it a couple of times now and it has done well. She likes pressing the button to open it (I help when it needs putting away). Holding it up is still a bit awkward for her, but I think that's mostly practice. For a child younger than three I would leave the holding to an adult, as it isn't a tiny lightweight toy.

Shelly Russell

It does keep me dry in everyday rain.

Nicely made, although folding it neatly again takes some effort. It does keep me dry in everyday rain. The coverage is a bit less than I'd hoped for (I'm an average sized man), especially when rain blows in. Should have thought more about the stated size before buying.

Robyn Floyd

rain just carries on and I stay dry.

Rain, meet your match! After getting drenched under my old little umbrella, I was ready for an upgrade. Cue, the beige umbrella! Haveing used it through several wet days now, I can say it does a much better job of covering me....rain just carries on and I stay dry. It's chunkier folded than I'd hoped, so not quite a perfect bag fit, but this little rain warrior is earning its keep.

Jay Farmer

It's been out in rain and gusty weather too.

Only a few weeks in and I'm already getting plenty of use from it! Having some shade makes sunny days more comfortable. It's been out in rain and gusty weather too. A gust turned the canopy inside out once and I was worried that was the end of it, but it went back into shape and carried on fine.

Lori Gray

Everything arrived quickly too!

Picked up a few of these for my bridesmaids for our starry night wedding, and I'm so excited to give them out! They are pretty AND something they'll actually be able to use. Haven't had one out in the rain yet, just opened one indoors to have a look, but it seems sturdy for a little folding umbrella. Handy to pop in a bag if the weather looks uncertain.Everything arrived quickly too!

As a mother of six I appreciate anything that doesn't take both hands!

As a mother of six I appreciate anything that doesn't take both hands! One press gets this umbrella up while I keep hold of a child's hand with the other. The closed oval handle is comfy to hang onto as well, soooo much less fuss than juggling a long umbrella. No windy day test yet, so I'm not making big claims there, but I'm delighted with it so far!

Darrell Swanson

Sorry everyone, that was me for a VERY long time.

I used to be the person taking umbrellas somebody had forgotten in a coffee shop. Sorry everyone, that was me for a VERY long time. I've probably lost twenty or more myself over the years. Most were hopeless anyway, likely the reason they got abandoned. Then I spent money on this one:-Hasn't turned inside out in the wind-Keeps the top half of me dry (feet and lower legs are a lost cause, let's be honest)Money well spent, I'd say.

Makayla House

The size suits me and it's easy to carry about.

Best one I've had....why didn't I buy two!It gives me good cover without making it awkward to see ahead, and I don't feel like I'm barging into everyone else with an umbrella up.The size suits me and it's easy to carry about.Wish I'd found it sooner!Love mine!

Michele Daniel

It feels like an umbrella I might actually keep for a while.

It feels like an umbrella I might actually keep for a while. I'm tired of flimsy ribs and awkward opening mechanisms, especially when I'm trying to keep the dog and myself covered on a wet walk. This one feels strong and opens without a struggle. Enough room for me and the dog close alongside. Dog owners know you don't get to skip the walk just because the weather is miserable, and having decent cover is important.

This is my second umbrella in a few months, entirely because I keep leaving them behind. Used it in heavy rain and moderate wind last week and it managed about as well as my previous two. The weight is much the same as well, meaning a bit more than I want to carry. I suppose that's the compromise for a frame that feels fairly substantial.

Logan Cunningham

Handy to carry without having a full length umbrella dangling off me.

Folded, it's about 40cm long -- compact, but not something I'd call tiny. There's still a fair bundle of fabric and ribs, so allow some room if it's going into a bag. Mine goes in the bottle holder on my photography belt while I'm out in the South Florida preserve. I use it for shade as much as rain, and the canopy makes a noticeable difference when I'm standing about with the camera in summer. It has been sturdy enough for those outings, including the occasional brush against vegetation. Handy to carry without having a full length umbrella dangling off me.

Kara Snow

It's a small thing, but fun to use.

I'm enjoying this umbrella far more than is probably normal. Rain in the forecast and I'm already thinking about pressing the button again. Three months in and the novelty hasn't really gone away. *insert unnecessarily dramatic music* My girlfriend thought my excitement over an umbrella was hilarious. It's a small thing, but fun to use.The one little nuisance is putting it back in its sleeve when I've folded it in a hurry. If I straighten the fabric first it slides in fine, so mostly that's down to me being impatient. It still feels good in the hand after regular use. All in all, I'm pleased with it and still finding excuses to carry it.

Louis Larsen

Later I walked the eight blocks back to my hotel alone.

Took this on a business trip to SD (yes, needed an umbrella that week) and used it twice. My companion and I kept close underneath it walking several blocks to lunch and stayed dry. Later I walked the eight blocks back to my hotel alone. There was a breeze both times, but the umbrella behaved itself and I got there dry.

Sheryl King

For what I paid, though, I'm happy to have the pair.

Finding these for such a reasonable amount made me smile. I ordered two and still thought the total was good value!! Similar-looking umbrellas can cost a lot more in the shops. Took one star off because the fabric feels thinner than I'd ideally like. It isn't a problem using it, just not quite the substantial finish I had in mind. For what I paid, though, I'm happy to have the pair.

Gabriel Cohen

Umbrella itself is excellent.

Packed away, it is a sensible size, and that button opening is such a help. I've bought quite a few umbrellas and this one has not disappointed me. Only nuisance was the big parcel, I had to collect it from the post office, very inconvient. Umbrella itself is excellent.

Sheila Koch

The overall quality is really impressive.

The overall quality is really impressive. The fabric looks nicely finished and it gives a good area of cover, yet folds to a manageable size. I like the plain oval handle for my eight year old. There isn't a toy-like bit dangling from it to distract from using the umbrella, which suits me much better.

Laurie Davies

This was a birthday present for my mother.

This was a birthday present for my mother. It looked very nicely finished when I unpacked it and didn't feel overly weighty. The canopy opens with a simple press of the button, which she found convenient. Construction feels solid without making the umbrella cumbersome to carry. She was delighted with it. An easy recommendation.

Jessica Hahn

It also kept me dry when I tried it in the rain.

I bought it mainly for shade during the Texas summer and it has been useful for that. The green makes carrying an umbrella in sunshine feel a little less silly, which I appreciate. It also kept me dry when I tried it in the rain. My only gripe is that it takes up more bag space than I hoped when folded, so it's not something I carry everywhere!

Craig Terry

We can finally walk along like a normal couple in the rain!!

My partner is well over six feet and I'm only a little over five, so sharing cover usually means an awkward shuffle!! This one leaves us room when we're close together, without me stepping sideways to stay underneath. We can finally walk along like a normal couple in the rain!!

Blake Arnold

Kept the rain off me and felt secure in my hand.

Had this about a week now and the rainy weekend gave it a proper tryout. It looks smart, the frame feels solid, and nothing about it seems flimsy. Folded, it's a little longer than I'd pictured, but I'm getting used to finding a spot for it. The important part though---it stayed comfortable to hold when the breeze picked up. Crossing the parking lot, I was glad not to be wrestling with a canopy flapping all over the place. Kept the rain off me and felt secure in my hand. That's what I wanted from it, and so far I'm very happy.

Sudden rain is pretty normal here in Tallahassee, so I try not to leave home without an umbrella. This one is a useful size for carrying every day-it slips into the side pocket of my backpack and doesn't get in the way. For something that folds down this neatly, it feels quite robust and gives me a decent amount of shelter.

Cody Knox

The umbrella keeps her dry and she absolutely loves using it.

At first I wasn't sure about it, it seemed a bit lightweight to be much good. But my five year old granddaughter holds it comfortably and works the button herself. The umbrella keeps her dry and she absolutely loves using it. Hard to argue with that, five stars from us!

Glenn Osborn

A lovely umbrella overall.

My sister was delighted with this umbrella! It isn't too heavy to take along, but it doesn't feel flimsy at all. The gray looks smart and she likes being able to get it open with a quick press. My one little disappointment is how untidy the folded fabric looks when I wrap it up; I was hoping for a neater bundle. Once it's open, or tucked into its sleeve, I don't notice that at all. A lovely umbrella overall.

Chase Watson

Material looks good to me.

Delivery was not very fast. Material looks good to me. Have not tried it at work yet. For normal use, the price is quite acceptable. The finish of the parts is satisfactory. Size corresponds to what was described. Purchase was successful for me. Can recommend.

Sharon Callahan

Very happy with how it's holding up and would recommend it.

I've had this for about a year now and it's been used a lot. Living by the waterfront in Jersey City means there are plenty of wet, windy days, and you see people battling with umbrellas that have folded the wrong way. That's what I wanted to avoid. So far this one has been reassuringly steady for me and hasn't turned inside out. I can normally hold it comfortably with one hand, although I still take care when a gust comes through. Opened up, it gives good coverage and two of us can get under it if we stay close. After all that use the handle still feels firm and everything opens smoothly, with the fabric in good shape too. Nothing feels loose. Very happy with how it's holding up and would recommend it.

Paula Garza

Surprisingly light, feels sturdy.

Surprisingly light, feels sturdy.Used it in Hawaii through bright sun, a downpour and sudden breezes, and it coped well.Very handy when folded.Liked the automatic opening and canopy collapse (the telescoping shaft still needs pushing down by hand).Plenty of ribs, everything looks neatly put together.

Alvin Hamilton

Open, there is enough coverage for me.

Somewhere there must be quite a collection of umbrellas that once belonged to me. Not a collection I intended to build. A cab gets one, a train gets another, and occasionally a restaurant gets to look after one indefinitely. My talent is remembering the umbrella just late enough for retrieving it to be impractical. Consequently, I spent a long time buying whichever cheap one would do. Why become attached? It was probably going to continue its life with somebody else anyway. The really miserable ones barely seemed worth remembering, which probably did not help. Eventually I wondered whether I had that backwards. Perhaps buying something I actually wanted to own would encourage me to bring it home. So that was my reasoning behind getting this Haven umbrella rather than another barely considered purchase. The black is straightforward enough for me. No particular fashion statement, just an umbrella I am happy to be seen carrying. More importantly, it feels like something I ought to keep track of rather than abandon under a seat. Size matters quite a lot in this little experiment. If carrying it becomes a chore, I know perfectly well I will leave it behind before I even get out of the house. Folded, this fits into my backpack with room for the things that were already in there. Open, there is enough coverage for me. I would not choose it as a shared shelter for two people, but that was never the plan. It has kept me dry in the rain I've had to use it in, and feels reassuringly substantial without needing its own bag. I paid particular attention to how it closes. Automatic sounds wonderfully simple until you start wondering exactly which part is supposed to happen automatically. Here the button brings the canopy shut, and I press the telescoping shaft back down myself. That last step is normal, not the umbrella giving up halfway through the job. Having understood the sequence, I find it straightforward. The opening is quick too, which is rather the point when the rain has already started and you are still standing there thinking about it. The pleasant surprise is that I now actually check for my umbrella before leaving somewhere. Apparently I needed an umbrella I would miss. It does its job, packs away sensibly, and has made it home with me so far. I am almost looking forward to the next wet day. Almost. There are limits to how much enthusiasm I can muster for getting rained on.

Catherine Bradley

It looks smart as well.

I'd had enough of buying bargain umbrellas and then paying for another before long. Decided it was worth looking properly and spending a little more on one I actually liked. Well, I'm glad I did! The opening has a satisfying whoosh, and the whole thing seems solid without being a chore to carry. It looks smart as well. No regrets about spending the money on this one. I can see myself getting a couple more to give as presents.

Scott Leonard

It arrived in good shape and has made it through three decent rains.

After the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect, but I've been pleasantly surprised. It arrived in good shape and has made it through three decent rains. My son, two and a half, is fascinated by it. I hold it over him and he stays nicely dry underneath. The blue is lovely.

Tom Hudson

It didn't, and having a patch of shade was actually quite nice.

Hard to tell from the picture how much room there is underneath once this opens up. I first tried it on an eighty something degree day, right after a thunderstorm. Still hot and sticky out, the rain hadn't done much about the humidity. I'd never carried this kind before and was half thinking it would feel stuffy standing underneath. It didn't, and having a patch of shade was actually quite nice. Couldn't be happier with it really. There's room for me and my two kids if we bunch ourselves in close, not spread out like we usually do. It folds down neatly and has a sleeve to store it in.

We get those sudden Florida storms, and this fits just right in my rolling cart for when one catches me! Going in and out of hospitals to help patients, I am really glad to have it handy! Shopping online is usually my first choice and this was another purchase I am happy with!

Tricia Chapman

My own little patch of shade.

Phoenix was home growing up, but most of my adult years have been in the NW. My folks are still in Arizona, so I wanted a nice-looking way to get some shade on visits. This oughta suit me fine! Lovely gray, nicely put together and no bother to carry...My own little patch of shade. Rather splendid!

Debra Valentine

Spending more on this was worth it.

Five years of walking around the city in rain has made me fussy about umbrellas. A tiny one is handy until the wind starts, then it doesn't feel like much of a bargain. Spending more on this was worth it. It folds up, but not into one of those little things you can lose in a coat pocket. What I get instead is a frame that feels secure and a canopy that actually covers me. I've carried it through windy rain without spending the whole walk worrying about it turning over.I am not especially gentle with umbrellas either. They get dropped, shoved into my bag, and generally treated like something I need rather than something precious. This one still feels solid when I put it up. The extra folded size is a trade I will gladly make for not having to fight with it every time the weather gets unpleasant.

Melissa Barrera

Exactly the sort of umbrella I wanted.

Exactly the sort of umbrella I wanted. Black on the outside, with a black underside as well, so it has a really simple finished look. I was more interested in having some shade than fancy decoration and this is easy to carry along. The fabric looks substantial and the loop at the bottom is a nice detail. More useful than I had pictured. I have long hair and don't like standing in direct sun with it getting hot. Having my own bit of shade overhead makes those sunny waits much nicer!

Eddie Bass

The blue looks really nice and they feel solid enough for the project.

These are for a project with my daughter's second grade class. The children are planning to add fabric paint and put them in the school's spring fundraiser auction. The blue looks really nice and they feel solid enough for the project. The oval handles are neatly finished, and a press of the button opens the umbrellas promptly. They all looked clean when we unpacked them. I'm delighted with how they look for what we paid!

Jeff Nguyen

Mislaid my last one and was so pleased to find another!!!

Mislaid my last one and was so pleased to find another!!! It folds into a neat narrow bundle, which makes it easy to tuck away when not needed. One press on the handle button opens it straight up. Has done well in the breezy rain I've tried it in too. Closing means another press to draw the canopy in, then pushing the shaft back down by hand. I smooth the fabric round it and put it in the sleeve. It's a straightforward umbrella to use and I'm glad to have one again.

Maxwell Lester

Winter walks are a bit nicer with this pink umbrella.

Winter walks are a bit nicer with this pink umbrella. It looks so pretty! I keep catching myself turning it around just to look at it. Its not huge but it feels sturdy enough for the rain I have used it in. When I leave it with other wet umbrellas I can usually pick mine out straight away. Would be nice to have everyone in the family with their own colour, though I can't see all of them choosing this one.

Brandi Tran

My husband got one and was taken with it.

My husband got one and was taken with it.We have since given these to friends and people from work, all have liked theirs too.The oval loop handle makes it look a little unusual and it feels good quality.A nice choice for a man who wants something different without it being too showy.
