My grandson is very taken with his new umbrella.

My grandson is very taken with his new umbrella. It goes in his school backpack and at ten years old he's concerned with whether things are "cool" rather than just useful. His friends liked it too, which apparently counts for a lot. So Grandma has made a good choice for once and I'm enjoying my brief moment of approval :-)

The umbrellas are good quality and do just what I need.

Could have spent less...I ordered two on-line without checking other prices, so that one is on me!The umbrellas are good quality and do just what I need. Not sorry I have them, just annoyed at myself for rushing...next time I will do the price checking FIRST and maybe keep a few more dollars in my pocket!

Fits into a child's backpack and doesn't feel heavy to take along.

I'd got tired of small umbrellas that felt useless whenever the wind came between the tall buildings. Didn't want a long umbrella to carry around either, so decided to try this one. Folded up it looks fairly small, then it opens into something much bigger than expected. It's stayed steady on the same streets where I was struggling with my old umbrellas. Handy button opens it right up, press again and it gathers the canopy in. The stem needs pushing shorter afterwards but that isn't difficult. Fits into a child's backpack and doesn't feel heavy to take along. Having something that covers me properly but can still go in a bag makes a big difference. I'm thinking the rest of the family could each do with one.

Pink looks good too.

Picked it up at a reduced price and think it would still be worth the regular cost.. Pink looks good too.In breezy weather it do a decent job, I just avoid pointing the open underside into the wind. Enough space for me, or two standing close. This suits me fine :).

There is a little more weight to carry as a result.

What I really want is the steadiness of a larger umbrella without having to carry a long one everywhere. This comes fairly close. It folds down neatly and feels more solid than the little umbrellas I've had before. In wind it still needs a proper grip, so I wouldn't call it wind proof, but I haven't felt as though the whole thing was about to give up. There is a little more weight to carry as a result. That's the compromise I keep coming back to. For everyday use I'd pick this one again; I just wish small size, low weight and a completely steady canopy all came together.

Alan Austin

This feels properly solid.

I wasn't keen on paying a fortune just to avoid replacing another umbrella after a fortnight. This feels properly solid. It's been out with me a few times, but I haven't tried it in strong winds. Opens without a fuss and folds to a handy size. So far, it seems like money well spent.

Theodore Horn

That is my one reservation, otherwise it does the job nicely!

I wanted something for watching evening games without having the rain in my face. Held at the right height, this lets me keep an eye on the field and stay mostly dry. I do wish the canopy reached a bit lower over my knees when sitting down. That is my one reservation, otherwise it does the job nicely!

Doris Whitney

A great find, I'm glad I picked it up.

A great find, I'm glad I picked it up. The closed oval handle is comfortable to carry by, and there's a decent amount of cover when it's open. My one change would be making it pack down shorter- it takes up more of my bag than I'd like...irritating when I'm trying to squeeze everything in.

Sherry Torres

It's an umbrella, and it works.

Not a lot to report, really. It's an umbrella, and it works. I use it against the sun as well as in rain. Not the tiniest thing once folded, so it takes some room in a bag. But it feels solid and has dealt with the breezes I've used it in, which matters more to me.

Ian Mccann

Works well, looks good, and I can clip the handle onto my bag.

This green one is my third, because apparently keeping track of umbrellas isn't one of my talents... Anyway, I'm completely sold on the loop handle. How is that not on every umbrella?! It feels comfortable and the canopy gives enough room for two if you walk close together. Works well, looks good, and I can clip the handle onto my bag. That's all I need!

Micheal Erickson

Happy with my choice and expecting it to be around for a good while.

I've taken it out just once so far, and came back quite impressed. It sits neatly on my golf bag and pops open with a button, which is useful. I can't judge years of use yet, but the construction feels reassuring. Happy with my choice and expecting it to be around for a good while.

Steven Stevenson

I love how practical it is and would certainly recommend it!

I started out looking for a big umbrella for golf and ended up picking this folding one instead. It's about 105cm across when open and around 40cm packed away, so I can bring it along without carrying a long umbrella everywhere. The look is smart and the frame feels sturdy. I love how practical it is and would certainly recommend it!

Carmen Newton

My grandson is very taken with this.

My grandson is very taken with this. It goes in his school backpack and, at ten, having something he thinks looks 'grown up' is important business. His friends liked it too, which apparently gives it the seal of approval. So the umbrella is useful and I get to be the fashionable Grandma for a little while :-)

Two months in Bali made me wish I'd bought this earlier!

Two months in Bali made me wish I'd bought this earlier! It was hot and humid and my big hats were uncomfortable, so I carried an ordinary umbrella for shade. Some of the light still came through that one. After having skin cancers removed I try to keep out of direct sun as much as possible. I ordered this once I got home and WOW, the shade feels much more comfortable! I still use my other sun protection, of course, but it's nice to have cover overhead without wearing a huge hat. It has also kept rain off me and felt steady in the breezes I've used it in. My one reservation is packing it away. The canopy shuts with the button, but compressing the stem takes more of a push than I'd like. That's what keeps this at four stars for me, otherwise I'm delighted with it.

Miranda Braun

Luckily the couple had sunshine all day and we never needed them!

Ordered these for my daughter's wedding photos, JUST IN CASE we got rain. Luckily the couple had sunshine all day and we never needed them! They looked elegant enough to be in the pictures rather than spoiling them. There is decent coverage, although two adults would have to stand quite close. I'd certainly recommend them for a wedding backup, even though ours didn't actually get used in the rain.

Alexandria Pitts

Still feels like a GREAT buy.

Since moving to Tampa I've learned an umbrella has to earn its place in my bag..This one feels soo much better in the hand, the loop is comfortable and I don't mind carrying it..covers me in the rain and gives my skin a break from that strong sun..The push button is a bonus too, no fighting to get it open when I'm already outside. Still feels like a GREAT buy.

Terrance Holder

I'd recommend it.

The sleeve is a nice thing to have, it keeps the umbrella together when I'm carrying it about. There's enough room for a friend to tuck in close with me in the rain. The pink is lovely, a little deeper than I'd imagined from the picture, but I like it. It has felt secure when a gust comes along too. The loop handle gives me a good hold, which saves that feeling of it slipping away. I'm glad to have it and use it quite often. A television demonstration got me interested in this sort of umbrella in the first place. I'd recommend it.

Glenn Shah

We're both happy with this one.

This was a christmas present for my mom a couple of years back. Rain isn't very common where we live, but we seem to get it all at once when it comes. She keeps this one handy and still tells me how much she likes it whenever umbrellas come up. It has handled her wet, windy days well and doesn't feel flimsy at all. Nice to give something that actually gets appreciated long after christmas. We're both happy with this one.

Madeline Brock

For the money, the sturdy feel was a nice surprise too.

Rainy days are a lot less gloomy with this blue umbrella! I used to dread them, now I actually enjoy having a reason to take it out. It looks cheerful among all the dark umbrellas on the sidewalk. For the money, the sturdy feel was a nice surprise too. The oval handle is a little different, which I like, and it has felt secure on my Chicago walks. I'm thinking this would make a lovely gift for those friends who are impossible to shop for.

Frank Day

Umbrellas have been my answer to sun for years now.

Umbrellas have been my answer to sun for years now. With my hair getting thinner on top, I prefer shade over putting on a hat and flattening what hair is left! This replaced one I lost and does a nice job keeping the sun off me. I feel cooler underneath it too. Best for one person; sharing is possible, but somebody's shoulder is going to be outside the cover.

Sandy Hester

There's only so much to write about an umbrella.

There's only so much to write about an umbrella. It feels well made, looks neat and keeps me dry. Folded down it's a handy size for taking along, and open it's enough for one person. Came nicely packed as well. I'd be comfortable recommending it to someone wanting an everyday umbrella.

Jeff Mcmahon

It has also behaved well in the wind so far.

One of my wife's Mother's Day presents, and a very successful choice. I've had enough umbrellas to appreciate a frame that feels substantial. The pink and the oval loop handle were what attracted me to this one. It looks just as good in person and my wife is delighted with it. It has also behaved well in the wind so far. A bit expensive, but I think it was money well spent.

Joseph Avery

My wife had been looking everywhere for an umbrella for her godchild.

My wife had been looking everywhere for an umbrella for her godchild. We went round several shops trying to decide what would be right.I said let me have a look online because I have found things that way before.Well we settled on this one and the little girl was so pleased with it. Seeing her smile and getting a hug made all that looking worthwhile. My wife was happy to have finally found something she could give her. If you are after a useful little present, I would say this was a very good choice for us.

Dennis Hansen

Green is such a fresh looking color.

I am delighted with this umbrella, It has a substantial feel when you put it up, the ribs look well supported and nothing about it feels flimsy. The automatic opening is a nice convenience rather than having to push everything up yourself. Green is such a fresh looking color. Here in Arizona rain is not the only reason for carrying an umbrella, There are plenty of days when it is the sun I want a little shelter from. A hat is useful but its brim only goes so far. This canopy gives a much more generous patch of shade, very welcome when spending time in the garden. I cannot hold it and do every garden job of course, but for a pause out there it is a treat. the neighbors either side have umbrellas for the sunshine as well..a pleasant sight seeing people enjoying their little shaded spots. I am happy with my green choice, a clean cheerful color that belongs among the plants. Folded up it is quite manageable, another thing I appreciate when taking it outside with me. Less sun directly on my cheeks is what I was after, and rain cover is there when needed too. I would readily recommend it for shade, even to somebody walking the golf course...(bg). Five stars from me.

- Oval handle gives me a good grip.

East coast weather gives us enough wet days that I always have an umbrella around. Mine has had a year in New Jersey and then over a year in Buffalo, so it's seen plenty of rain. Pros: - Button opening is handy when you're already juggling things. - Feels sturdy on the windy walks I've used it for. - Oval handle gives me a good grip. - Practical for anyone...though some people still seem to think umbrellas like this are feminine. I'd just call it useful. Cons: - Folds up, but it's not disappearing into my smallest purse. - Closing the canopy is automatic, pushing the telescoping section in isn't. - Probably needs a wipe occasionally...or I could leave that to the next rainy outing :) I'm hoping to get plenty more use from this one. People have been very nice about how it looks and a few have wanted to know where I found it.

Jocelyn Valdez

The material seems good and everything looks neatly put together.

The material seems good and everything looks neatly put together. I find the oval handle comfortable with average sized hands, although someone with very big hands might find it cramped. Had a look over the canopy for little gaps and couldn't see any. Enough cover for me on my own.

wanted an umbrella for my daughter's school backpack and expected something a bit tinier when folded. It takes about the space of a normal folding one, not a little pocket thing. She's happy with the button opening and canopy closing though, which was the main point.

Gene Aguilar

It really is lovely!

Such a pretty umbrella, and it suits the person I picked it out for perfectly. There is a useful amount of cover when it opens, even if my husband and I would have to cuddle up to share it (we aren't little people!). I did take off a star for how dusty it was when I unpacked it . . . not exactly what you want to see with something you plan to give someone. I couldn't tell where the dust had come from, but it was noticeable around the handle. Thankfully a dry cloth and a couple of minutes were all it needed to look nice. Much better to find that beforehand than let someone unwrap it like that! Now I've cleaned it up I'm slightly tempted to keep it myself. It really is lovely!

Shelley Morrow

More toy than umbrella at the moment!

My four year old is thrilled even though I thought it would look a bit cuter. She loves pressing the button to open it and collapse the canopy; I do the final push down. No rainy outing yet, but she carries it round indoors waiting for one. More toy than umbrella at the moment!

Helen Freeman

Good quality, with a solid feel when it's in your hand.

Good quality, with a solid feel when it's in your hand. The tip hasn't caused me any trouble, though I don't use it as a walking stick. Comfortable coverage for one person, and two can squeeze under for a short dash if needed. It has handled the rain and ordinary gusts well. More than I usually spend on an umbrella, but I'd rather pay for something I expect to keep using.

Ian Macias

Good coverage for me and room to squeeze someone else in.

Good coverage for me and room to squeeze someone else in. only thing i wasn't sure about was the closed oval handle, as i normally use a straight one and thought this might feel awkward after a while, but it sits nicely in my hand and hasn't bothered me. i'm happy with it and would choose it again.

Stanley Lamb

In person it's EXACTLY the shade I hoped for.

1) The blue was the thing I was most nervous about, because pictures can make colours look completely different. In person it's EXACTLY the shade I hoped for. (yay!).2) I'd read comments about packing umbrellas away and braced myself for a wrestling match. Didn't happen. Press to bring the canopy in, push the shaft down by hand, smooth the folds and it goes into the sleeve. It helps to spend a moment doing it neatly, that's all.3) Only a couple of uses so far, plus being carried in my enormous bag with everything else rattling about, and it's doing fine. Obviously this isn't some enchanted shield (sadly, everyday objects don't get magical protection), so I won't be flinging it around. Who needs to treat an umbrella like sporting equipment??4) For the money I'm delighted, AND it's something I'll actually carry rather than leave at home. Would happily suggest it to someone looking for a useful, nice looking brolly.

Natasha Fields

It has coped with all of that very nicely.

My daughter is delighted with this umbrella, and I like that she can manage holding it instead of wrestling with something huge! The green is cheerful without being fussy, and the dark underside makes a nice contrast when it is open. She is particularly pleased with the oval loop handle, which she likes to hang up in her bedroom as though it is part of the decorations! We have used it for actual rainy walks, but there has also been plenty of opening it just because umbrellas are apparently fun to play with. It has coped with all of that very nicely. The button makes opening it easy, and another press brings the canopy down. I help her push the shaft back in afterwards. No trouble with it so far, and she is always keen to be the one carrying it.

Cristian Potter

Until now I'd mostly carried the inexpensive folding umbrellas from the pharmacy. This one feels like a definite step up, especially when it's windy, and the build seems more substantial. I can't judge years of wear yet, but at this point I'm very pleased with it.

Kimberly Rollins

Portability was the main reason i went for this umbrella.

Portability was the main reason i went for this umbrella. It's been out with me about a dozen times now and has kept the rain off each time, which is really all I ask. The frame seems fine for normal use, though i still wouldn't feel keen on taking it out when it's seriously blowing. That's not what I wanted it for anyway. The folding size makes it convenient to have along instead of leaving an umbrella at home because it's too much bother. Pressing the button to open it has been effortless so far, a nice suprise in something this compact. Overall i'm very happy with the choice. 5 stars for being the one that actually comes along with me!

Charlotte Reilly

Clever little umbrella.

Clever little umbrella. The button pops it open and shuts the canopy, then you press the pole in to pack it away. Too early to tell how it will last but so far it seems decent. There is a sleeve included, which is handy. Getting the fabric wrapped neatly is a little fiddly and mine never looks as tidy as it did at first. The loop handle also feels a little odd to hold, although I'm getting used to that.Nothing too complicated once you work out which part the button does. Lol

Mckenzie Mcconnell

Overall I think it's a decent umbrella for what I paid.

I'm in Philadelphia and hadn't had many chances to try this since I got it over winter. Last week gave me a proper rainy, windy day at last. The gray looks smart and a few friends have commented on it.Stayed quite steady while I was walking, which I appreciated. Four stars because there was some dusty looking stuff on it when I unpacked it, so I wiped it before using. Also, don't expect your whole outfit to stay dry just because the top half is covered. I nearly always have a backpack on and the edges of that and my trousers still caught rain when it blew sideways.Overall I think it's a decent umbrella for what I paid. Almost looking forward to the next shower! LOL

Steve Bruce

For one person the size works nicely

Several months of using this mainly as a sunshade have left me very satisfied. It gives a decent patch of shade, though naturally the air is still warm underneath it on a hot day. I'd hoped it might feel a little cooler, but that certainly hasn't made me regret buying it. The construction is solid without being tiring to carry, and it hasn't felt flimsy when the wind picks up a little. For one person the size works nicely; I don't feel as though I'm carrying something enormous around. The oval loop handle suits my grip when I'm standing holding it. I also like the look of all those ribs under the canopy. They give it a lovely shape, and the whole thing feels supported rather than flimsy.

Mason Duke

Really impressed by the quality.

Really impressed by the quality. The fabric is neatly finished, and it opens up much bigger than you would expect from its folded size. The plain oval handle is another plus. My 8 year old doesn't need any little extras on there to fiddle with, just something straightforward to hold while using it.

Stanley Hurst

Blue canopy, black underside and a flexible rib structure, with…

Blue canopy, black underside and a flexible rib structure, with push-button opening and closing of the canopy. The oval loop handle gives it a distinctive look ☂️, and the folded umbrella slips into the supplied sleeve. A handsome everyday accessory, nicely finished and very reasonably priced for the quality.

Marco Sheppard

This is pleasingly plain, sturdy and reasonably priced.

After years of wet, blustery New England days, an umbrella wasn't something I expected to get excited about. My husband received one for Christmas last year-and we laughed. Such a sensible present! Then I borrowed it to see what the fuss was. Nothing turning inside out, no wrestling to get it open. Just a smooth button opening and enough cover to be useful. The loop handle is comfortable, and the whole thing folds into a short, chunky bundle that's easy to tuck away. So my Christmas request this year? One of my own. I've had quite enough of charming little umbrellas that surrender as soon as the weather gets unpleasant! This is pleasingly plain, sturdy and reasonably priced. Practical design with a bit of elegance! a present for somebody who appreciates things working properly, whether they're an engineer, a fussy relative or just starting out!

Brendan Ford

Good start!

Good start!Only been out with it once, in quite a downpour, and my friend and I squeezed underneath without getting soaked. Carrying it afterwards made me realize it isn't as tiny folded as I'd pictured. That's the only little drawback for me. Still, staying dry was the point, and it managed that nicely, so I'm pleased with it.

Timothy Morton

I have used it regularly and am pleased with how it has held up.

I find this a dependable umbrella, and it folds into a neat size for carrying about. The automatic opening is convenient and has worked each time I've needed it.I have used it regularly and am pleased with how it has held up. The ribs feel quite sturdy without making it too heavy, and it gives me good cover on wet days. It is the sort of everyday item I appreciate more after using it for a while.

Christina Adkins

Apparently an umbrella is entertainment now!

Not quite as sweet looking as I'd pictured, though my four year old thinks it's wonderful. She can work the button herself and is delighted with that. No rainy outing yet, but she keeps carrying it from room to room waiting for one. Apparently an umbrella is entertainment now!

Jenna Webb

So the handle gets to stay on show!

This is decoration for my outdoor patio, like my previous umbrella was. The shape looks just right among the outdoor things. As a decorative piece, I might have hidden the handle, but the family says the oval loop gives it personality. So the handle gets to stay on show!

Tommy Hendrix

Compact umbrella & sleeve

This is such a cute little umbrella - and I like having a sleeve to put it into after it has dried. It seems nicely made, and the button is simple to use for opening & folding the canopy. A neat design. Can't say much about how it does in rain because we haven't had a chance yet - but my 6-year old is delighted because 1) it isn't a great long umbrella to carry, 2) the canopy gives him plenty of cover, 3) the oval loop is easy to hold onto, 4) the plain beige color looks grown up instead of babyish, 5)he can manage the button, and 6) I can help press the telescoping part down and tuck it away afterwards.Compact umbrella & sleeve

Good for the dry ground, not so good for guests standing outside.

An outdoor wedding on March 1, in the desert...what could go wrong? We were the ones who thought it was a great idea! Usually we can count on sunshine, but our day came with rain and wind instead. Good for the dry ground, not so good for guests standing outside. These umbrellas turned out to be such a good choice. The black looked elegant rather than gloomy, and the fabric was nicer than I expected. Everyone had something useful to take away, too. Not the weather we pictured, but I loved how it all looked in the end!

Brandy Rogers

Probably my favourite umbrella so far.

Probably my favourite umbrella so far. It fits my bag or the car door compartment, but opens wide enough that I feel properly covered in a downpour. The closing button is my favourite bit. While other people are wrestling theirs shut outside the building, I press once to gather the canopy and go inside. Then it's just a hand push to shorten the pole before putting it away.

Courtney Austin

It has been a good choice for us.

My 2 year old wanted an umbrella of his own after seeing his big sister with hers. He is delighted with this one. He can hold it for a little while, although I help with the button and putting it away. It is a proper sized umbrella rather than a tiny children's one, so there is plenty of room to grow into it. The fabric feels good and everything has held up through several uses. It has been a good choice for us.

Tanner Castro

I've had it out in breezy rain and haven't had to wrestle with it.

When I ordered this, I wasn't quite sure whether something that folded down would feel sturdy enough for regular use.Having it in my hands and actually using it has put that worry to rest. It opens promptly with the button and gives me a useful amount of shelter, without being awkward to take along.I've had it out in breezy rain and haven't had to wrestle with it. That's really all I ask of an umbrella. Folded up, it's convenient to keep nearby rather than leave at home because it's too much bother.I'm delighted with the purchase, and if we need another umbrella, I would happily choose one of these again!
