Opened smoothly and everything felt nicely put together, a good buy.
Excellent umbrella~ I chose beige and the shade looked just like the photo, very pleased with that. Opened smoothly and everything felt nicely put together, a good buy.I would certainly reccommend it for someone needing a folding umbrella.I ended up returning mine because I didn't actually need it anymore, nothing to do with the umbrella itself. Never got to take it out in the rain so can't really say about that part, but my first impression was great.

Nice solid feel.
Hello fellow golfers,This one is staying in my golf bag!Nice solid feel.the oval handle took me a minute to get used to but i like it now.It tucks along the side of the bag and was handy over the weekend when rain drifted across our round.dry shirt and still room for the clubs, thats a win.:)Regards,The fellow hoping for sunshine.

It's got that quiet, retro sort of style I enjoy, especially in beige.
It's got that quiet, retro sort of style I enjoy, especially in beige. An umbrella doesn't have to be purely practical, and I like carrying something I actually like the look of rather than just whatever was available. That said, the appeal isn't only about appearances. Once it's open I have a good area of cover, and the frame doesn't feel flimsy. The one drawback for me is carrying it afterwards. It folds down, obviously, but it still needs some space in a bag and has more heft than the tiny ones. I can live with that. For the look, the solid feel and keeping the rain off me, the little bit of extra carrying seems a fair trade.
Yvonne Fuller
The umbrella itself is excellent.
I picked this out as a gift for a friend. It looks distinctive without being over the top, and gives a good amount of cover. The box was comically large for one umbrella, with paper stuffed all around it; seemed a bit wasteful, but that's separate from the product. The umbrella itself is excellent.
Rick Shannon
This has been a good step up.
After working through a succession of cheap umbrellas, I wanted something I wouldn't immediately be looking to replace. This has been a good step up. It costs more than the throwaway sort, but I'd rather put that money into one umbrella I actually like using. The frame has a substantial feel without making the whole thing a burden to carry. The ribs have some flexibility, which I appreciate when a breeze catches the canopy, and the coverage is enough for me to stay properly under it. I wasn't entirely sure about the oval handle at first. It is different from what I'm used to, but comfortable to hold, and I've even had comments about it. A nice bonus, not the reason I chose it. Folded, it goes in my bag, and I'm taking more care about not leaving this one somewhere. Opening is quick with the button. For putting it away, the canopy closes at another press, then I compress the telescoping pole myself. That last part takes a definite push and isn't my favorite bit. Overall though I think the extra money was worthwhile.
Antonio Wong
Useful and nice looking is a combination I appreciate.
This was a bit different from the umbrellas I usually carry. It opens out bigger than I pictured from seeing it folded, but that has been a good thing. The closed loop handle feels comfortable and gives me somewhere secure to hold it. I had to get familiar with the button at first. You press it to open, press again to fold the canopy, then shorten the pole by hand. Once I understood that, it was simple. I'm only 5'2" and there is plenty of cover over my head and shoulders, with room around my arms as well. Rain isn't running straight onto my sleeves, which is what I wanted. It has felt steady in the breezes I've used it in, too. :)The material seems sturdy and has dried out fine after use. I haven't noticed anything unpleasant building up on it. It isn't the smallest folded umbrella, but it's still convenient enough to carry. Useful and nice looking is a combination I appreciate. I was unsure about the different handle at first, but now I like it. A few people have commented on it and asked about it, so apparently it's not just me.

This umbrella has done a nice job & seems good for the price.
Northeastern rain really does come at you sideways! lol. This umbrella has done a nice job & seems good for the price. A little pale dust on it when unpacked, but nothing smelly, nothing left on my clothes and it wiped away first go. :) Not a big deal. Happy with this one.
Sherry Fernandez
For ordinary rain, it's been very good.
Wanted a decent sized umbrella with a bit of backbone, not something I'd be throwing away after the first awkward gust. The flexible ribs were part of the appeal. It gives us enough cover to walk together if we keep close and seems solid in use. I'm happier carrying this than another flimsy little one. I did have a silly thought about keeping the outdoor grill going with someone standing there holding the umbrella over the cook. Only joking, that's asking rather a lot of whoever gets the umbrella duty. For ordinary rain, it's been very good.
Meredith Reilly
These ended up costing me very little.
These ended up costing me very little. Bought three, so I was happy that the total wasn't much, and they seem solid enough when you handle them. For that sort of price I don't feel the need to pick at every little thing. Would I buy them again if they cost a bit more? Yes, I think so. Probably will get more to use as gifts.

The umbrella has been everything I hoped it would be.
The umbrella has been everything I hoped it would be. Opened out, it covers my head and shoulders well and helps keep the bag I'm carrying out of the rain too. I like the firm feel of the frame, especially compared with the very flimsy umbrellas I've had before. There is a bit more weight in my hand, but after a few uses I stopped noticing it. People have asked me about it while I've been out, and someone mentioned wanting one for watching her children's games. The plain design is smart without being fussy and goes with whatever I'm wearing. It folds to a useful size as well. For anyone expecting a tiny, featherweight umbrella, it isn't that, but for me the extra substance is a good thing!
Debra Cruz
Overall a good purchase.
I've been using this one for a while and it is still doing nicely. I get so tired of umbrellas that feel ready to turn inside out at the first bit of wind. This one has a reassuring frame, and looks so cute! The loop handle is comfortable when carrying it too. I have a bit of an umbrella obsession, so something useful and pretty was always going to appeal to me. The button helps, although packing it fully away still means pushing the shaft down myself. Overall a good purchase.
Roy George
Both the open size and the folded size suit me.
I really like how this umbrella looks, even if it isn't quite the same as the one I lost. Both the open size and the folded size suit me. The awkward part is shutting it: after the canopy closes, I have to brace the top against a firm surface to get the shaft pushed in and latched. I'm hoping that last bit gets easier with use.
Justin Rowe
This gives me decent cover without something huge to store afterwards.
Opened mine today and liked it enough to get a second for my husband's car (which also gives me a spare if mine wanders off). Give it room on that first press, it springs out quickly and there's more canopy than the folded size suggests. I spend evenings outside helping people find their way, checking tickets and dealing with questions, so a useful umbrella matters more than I thought. This gives me decent cover without something huge to store afterwards. Didn't expect to be this pleased with such an everyday purchase, especially at the price.
Heather Leonard
This feels tougher than my previous umbrella and the price seems fair.
This feels tougher than my previous umbrella and the price seems fair. In Seattle mine gets used often, whatever people say about umbrellas being only for visitors. Let everyone else get their hood soaked, I'll happily stay under a canopy. The loop handle is useful for attaching it to my bag, although I wouldn't mind a proper wrist strap as well. My previous umbrella had a catch that wouldn't stay put and it would spring open when I wasn't expecting it. Nothing like that so far here; the button does what I ask and leaves it closed otherwise. It's been a good replacement, and I'm hoping that impression lasts with regular use.

The gray is really attractive, and the whole umbrella looks nice.
The gray is really attractive, and the whole umbrella looks nice. A press of the button gets it open without any fuss. There's enough room under it for me, then it packs away into my tote. I generally buy the longer, nonfolding sort because I've had compact umbrellas that seemed thin and didn't give much cover. This one doesn't have that feel at all. The frame seems substantial and the canopy keeps the rain off properly. I'm glad I tried it. Mine also turned up just a few days after ordering.
Eric Ramsey
Happy to recommend it.
My naturally curly hair turns into a frizzy mess when it gets rained on. This has been good at keeping the rain off & my hair much more manageable. There's enough cover without holding it right down over my face. I can still watch where I'm walking & arrive with dry hair. Happy to recommend it.
Francisco Velez
This has been a good choice.
I've gone through a few little umbrellas that felt flimsy as soon as the weather turned. I wanted something more substantial this time without having to carry a full length one. This has been a good choice. Plenty of cover for me, and it has felt steady on the wet, windy days I've used it so far.
Anita Castaneda
I expect to get good use out of this.
The weight is around 390g, so not the almost weightless type I have used before.
A little more noticeable with the sleeve.
Still, I am satisfied with the price and the construction.
It seems sturdier than my previous lightweight umbrella, which was not much cheaper.
I expect to get good use out of this.

Have carried this umbrella for about two years now.
Have carried this umbrella for about two years now. It folds down enough for my larger purse, although you do know it's there rather than it being one of those almost weightless umbrellas. The automatic opening is useful when the rain starts and I don't want to stand fiddling with it. Mostly used for showers or when the forecast looks uncertain. Have taken it out in wind, carefully, and it has come through fine, but I wouldn't make a habit of testing its limits. For travelling or a long day out it makes a useful backup. It's held up to our North-Eastern weather better than I expected from a compact umbrella. Still opens properly and the fabric is looking good. I appreciate something that keeps working, and hope to get plenty more use from it.

Watering a tree somehow won me an umbrella.
Watering a tree somehow won me an umbrella. Very satisfied with it!)) Feels well made, and opened out it gives more room than my old one, about 105 cm across. The automatic button is convenient and the ribs seem strong. There is a sleeve as well, useful to have. The outside package took a knock on the way, but the box inside protected everything. It reached me in around ten days, possibly less. Happy to recommend it!

Have used it in rain too and been happy with it!
Took this along to a state tennis tournament in Mobile in June, mainly to have some shade between matches. Anyone who's been there then will understand why! My teammates borrowed it in turns and we all appreciated getting out of the direct sun. It made waiting around feel cooler and kept the glare out of our eyes. I like that it packs down afterwards instead of being a long umbrella to carry. Have used it in rain too and been happy with it!
Seth Mcmillan
It's coped well with the breezes too.
Always wanted an umbrella with a decent spread that I could still put away easily, and this is what I had in mind. Mine arrived early in April, just in time for the showers, so it's already been out on several walks. Looks nice with whatever I'm wearing and, more importantly, keeps me dry. It's coped well with the breezes too. I'd choose the same one again if I needed another.
Norma Zimmerman
Looks fine, we'll find out about longevity later.
Looks fine, we'll find out about longevity later. The black fabric looks tidy, the coverage suits me and the automatic action is working properly at the moment. I wasn't impressed by the packaging, just a thin bag and not much protection. I've received umbrellas with more substantial packaging before, so that did seem a bit basic. Still, this one arrived without any marks or damage that I could see. Haven't had a proper rainy outing with it yet, which will tell me more than opening it indoors. Five stars for now.
Roger King
Compactness was the main reason i ordered this.
Compactness was the main reason i ordered this. It's been out with me around a dozen times and has kept me dry each time, which is what matters (nothing fancy needed!). I wouldn't expect it to tackle a really fierce gust, though it hasn't let me down so far. I think most people wanting this size are after something portable, not something to carry into a storm, and that suits me. The automatic opening works smoothly too, better than i'd expected in a small umbrella. For normal wet days this is a useful thing to keep handy, just wouldn't push it in wild weather. Five stars from me, mainly for it's convenient size!
Aaron Phelps
Opening this umbrella always makes a rainy day feel a little nicer.
Opening this umbrella always makes a rainy day feel a little nicer. It looks cheerful and seems nicely put together, and the canopy pops up and collapses neatly with the button. I usually go for the really tiny umbrellas that disappear into a small purse, but then spend the whole time wondering how much shelter I am actually getting. This takes more space and has a bit more weight, so it is a choice--less to carry, or something that feels more substantial when you need it. For me this is a good balance, with room to stay dry without squeezing in. The closed loop handle is handy too (I appreciate having something more than a little stub to hang onto)
Shelia Ruiz
Nice to have something pretty that's useful too.
Looked lovely out of the packaging, with nothing marked or out of place. I took it with me on a long car journey and it has travelled well. So far I've only actually had it up in the rain once, but that was steady rain with some gusty wind, and it did very well! I'm really pleased with it and wouldn't mind another wet day to take it out again! Nice to have something pretty that's useful too.
Javier Robinson
the umbrella itself seems well made.
when i ordered this, i was mainly wondering how much cover something this compact could actually give. i expected a fairly small umbrella, and the price seemed a bit much if that was all i was getting. opening it up changed that impression. there is more canopy than the folded size suggests, so the cost made more sense once i had it in hand.
the umbrella itself seems well made. the cream white looks quite simple, with a black underside, and it isn't something a child can look through. you still need to pay attention to how it is held. a friend thought it was a little plain, but the cute factor isn't what matters to me. keeping someone covered is more important than whether the umbrella is particularly exciting to look at.
as for using it, the button is useful when your hands are already occupied. it opens the umbrella and collapses the canopy afterwards; you still push the shaft down by hand. that took a moment to understand, but is straightforward now. the closed loop handle is different from a hook, although i haven't found it awkward to hold.
my initial doubts were mostly about the price, rather than anything wrong with the umbrella. having used it, i'm satisfied with what i got. it provides the cover i wanted and packs back into its sleeve neatly. not a fancy looking thing, just a practical umbrella that i'm glad to have.
Frank Beck
I would recommend this 300%.
Another one ordered and I am just as pleased; I would recommend this 300%. Never thought I would have so much to say about an umbrella but this one deserves it. The canopy gives a generous circle of shelter and it feels strong when the wind picks up. you feel properly covered. For what I paid I honestly cannot complain about anything. I got told off a little for recommending just one when two would have been useful. So yes, another next time π π― π― π― π―

A good-looking umbrella with a reassuringly solid construction.
A good-looking umbrella with a reassuringly solid construction. It has behaved well in the breezes I've used it in. The canopy gives more room than its folded shape suggests (useful, though it isn't featherweight). If you're after something practical without losing a smart appearance, this is an excellent option.
Angie Gamble
Money well spent!
The button that brings the canopy DOWN as well as putting it up deserves some praise! After knee surgery I'm using a cane, and usually have other things in my hands too. Getting the wet canopy down with a single press is a real help. I push the pole down afterwards when I've got a hand free. Nice coverage, lovely cream white, and the frame feels reassuringly solid. Money well spent!
Luke Schultz
IT DOES HAVE SOME WEIGHT.
I teach and spend alot of time outside with the children. Sunlight really bothers me. This one gives me nice shade, with black on the inside and beige outside. Much nicer than standing there with the sun in my face. IT DOES HAVE SOME WEIGHT. My wife teaches too and I got her one, but she doesn't reach for it because she finds it heavy. For me it's fine, I am glad to have it when we are all outside.

I was surprised how much umbrella we got for the money.
I was surprised how much umbrella we got for the money. It feels like a good buy without having to spend a fortune! It arrived sooner than I expected, which my husband and I were pleased about because San Francisco has been so wet and there is more rain to come. Good timing! The canopy gives us a useful amount of cover, especially when one of us is carrying the baby. It folds down so we aren't carrying a long umbrella about afterwards. We haven't owned it long enough to say how it will last, but right now we're both pleased with the purchase!
Joan Blankenship
Such a happy little face.
She's a very capable three year old and wanted to carry it straight away. Round the house first, then into the yard. She kept peering up at the canopy and asking Grandma to stand beside her underneath it. Such a happy little face. Now she's waiting for rain so she can use it properly on the sidewalk. Definitely a BIG success.
Christopher Sherman
The gray has a lovely understated look.
The gray has a lovely understated look. Everything feels solid as well. We wanted it for a wedding photo shoot, so it will likely stay put away now until another couple wants to borrow it. I think whoever uses it next will be just as pleased with how it looks and handles.
Eric Morse
Didn't know a little umbrella could recover like that.
A friend gave me this umbrella a few weeks back, after my usual bargain one lost an argument with the wind. I'm mostly in the car, so umbrellas aren't something I think about until I'm standing somewhere needing one. Then I grab whatever is cheap and nearby. This feels like a fairly big improvement on that system.
The button is probably the first thing that impressed me (yes, I am that easily entertained). It sends the canopy out and draws it shut again, although you still need to shorten the shaft yourself. More importantly, it feels substantial rather than disposable. I did have a gust turn it inside out and immediately assumed that was the end of it. Turned out the flexible ribs let me put everything right again, and it looked much the same afterwards. Didn't know a little umbrella could recover like that.
I'm not planning to see just how much abuse it can take, but it has made me less suspicious of spending more than the absolute minimum on an umbrella. Assuming I don't leave it buried under things in the car, I expect to keep this one around. Can see myself getting one for somebody who actually walks places instead of driving everywhere like me =)

People kept commenting on it and it pulled the whole costume together.
I wasn't sure about spending money on an umbrella for my Halloween outfit, but I'm glad I went ahead. People kept commenting on it and it pulled the whole costume together. Better still, it isn't just a prop: it has been sturdy and kept me dry in actual rain too. A slightly smaller folded size would be nice for storing it afterwards, but that's a very small complaint.
Yvette Melendez
My daughter (she's 6) enjoys using it and it has kept her dry.
We got two folding umbrella's and this has been the better one by quite a margin. Feels stronger then the other and has already had plenty of use. Four rainy days in its first week, some breeze too. My daughter (she's 6) enjoys using it and it has kept her dry. I do help her pack it away, but so far we're happy with how it's held up. Would suggest it to others.
Olivia Freeman
The one button opening and closing I really like but putting itβ¦
The one button opening and closing I really like but putting it all away takes more push than I expected. It closes the canopy properly, then the pole needs pressing in by hand. That is how it's meant to work, just a bit of effort when you're standing in rain...
Lori Goodwin
This one has made me very happy.
My previous folding umbrella didn't even last a year, so I was after one that seemed a bit tougher. This one has made me very happy. The button opens it easily and brings the canopy closed again, and it feels well put together. A little heavier than some folding ones, yes, but I can still carry it comfortably in my handbag. Once opened it covers more than many compact umbrellas, which makes a difference in rain. The carry sleeve is there, though it gathers together neatly enough that I don't bother putting it in the sleeve every time. And I really like the way it looks. I've been happy enough with it to get another one to give as a present.
Eileen Lowery
My use is more for shade than for getting caught in heavy rain.
Light to hold, however it seems quite well put together. My use is more for shade than for getting caught in heavy rain. Standing under it on a sunny day is noticeably more comfortable than standing without anything overhead. It opens to a useful size too. I would not go taking it out in very strong winds, even though the frame feels sturdy. In conclusion, for someone wanting an umbrella mostly for sunny days, I think it is a very good choice.
Curtis Holland
Excellent umbrella, and the button is very convenient.
Excellent umbrella, and the button is very convenient. A word for anyone with weaker hands though: CLOSING NEEDS A PUSH. Pressing the button brings the canopy down, not the whole telescoping stem. You still have to shorten that firmly by hand before it is ready to open again. I hold the handle securely and press the top down until everything is seated. That last bit takes more strength than the button makes you imagine. I'm 60 and reasonably strong, so I manage fine and like using it. Someone with painful hands or arthritis might find this part quite demanding, which is worth knowing before buying.
Caleb Booth
The button action is handy, (less fiddling about).
Roomy enough to keep the rain off me, which is what I need it for. The button action is handy, (less fiddling about). My favourite part is the closed oval handle though. It gives me a secure hold without squeezing a straight grip, and is comfortable to carry with the umbrella folded.
Brian Glass
One of the most satisfying things I've bought in ages.
One of the most satisfying things I've bought in ages. It reminds me of the umbrella I had as a teenager, which is part of why I like it so much. The canopy gives a good spread over my head and shoulders so I don't feel left out in the rain. The material feels robust and the frame supports it well. It's coped with windy days without flipping over, and the opening mechanism feels secure rather than uncertain. Nice to find something that looks smart and feels dependable. I'm delighted with it!
Warren Ryan
A softer edge where my fingers sit would improve it.
One star off, and it's really down to the handle:The canopy is excellent, but the oval grip doesn't feel quite as natural in my hand as I'd like. Its shape is handy for carrying, less so when I'm holding it for a long stretch. A softer edge where my fingers sit would improve it.Also, I wish the button had a slightly larger surface. It works, I just have to be a little more deliberate about pressing it. None of this stops me using the umbrella, because the coverage and overall construction are very good. But the handle is the bit you actually touch, so those little details do influence how nice it feels.

Not flashy, just easy to spot.
Walking around central Philadelphia on a wet day is a good test for an umbrella. The tall buildings seem to funnel every gust straight down the street. I picked this one without giving it a huge amount of thought, and it's been a good choice. First off, the green is a nice change from all the black umbrellas out there. Not flashy, just easy to spot. And the oval handle feels substantial rather than flimsy, which gives it a nice feel overall. But the appearance isn't really what has impressed me. Out in the rain it's held its shape well, even along those blustery streets. I've seen umbrellas around me folding upwards while this one has stayed put. That's what matters. One thing worth mentioning, although I haven't knocked a star off for it. When a gust catches the canopy, you still feel that pull on your hand. Staying the right way round doesn't mean the wind somehow disappears. Having the enclosed loop gives me something secure to hold, and it hasn't slipped away, but someone with a weaker grip might find that pull a bit much. I don't know that any umbrella can avoid that entirely. For me, keeping a firm hold is a fair trade for one that hasn't turned inside out.
Meagan Gates
On the whole, I'm pleased with how this umbrella handles rain.
On the whole, I'm pleased with how this umbrella handles rain. It has stayed the right way round when the wind picks up, which was my main concern. However, after a year of fairly occasional use (not exactly much rain here!), I'm still aware of its weight whenever it's in my bag. It's compact, but that doesn't mean it's the lightest thing to carry.Perhaps that's the trade-off for it feeling substantial. I'll keep using it, because it works well, but I'd think about that weight before buying a second one.
Tanya Fernandez
What a handsome umbrella!
What a handsome umbrella! The design has much more character than the usual everyday brolly, and the finish looks great. The canopy opens and closes smoothly with the button. Even the handle feels nicely made. It would be a lovely gift for someone who enjoys unusual designs but still wants something useful when the rain starts.
Luis Myers
An umbrella better than a games console?
An umbrella better than a games console? What! For keeping rain off your head, certainly.I'm not claiming there's anything wrong with my other toys, just that this umbrella is a particularly good one (yes, I'm excited about an umbrella). It has a smart, fairly restrained look and the loop handle makes a nice change. The bit that really wins me over is opening it at the press of a button. One hand. Just one finger actually. When you're carrying things and about to step out into the rain, not having to fiddle around is a small but glorious convenience. The frame feels flexible rather than stiff, without feeling insubstantial. I appreciate the overall look as well; it doesn't need anything flashy to be useful. Open, it's a sensible size for keeping me covered, and folded it's easy to take along.Take your dry head out into the world with a little dignity.Happy umbrella-ing.

This umbrella has been through some miserable rain with me.
This umbrella has been through some miserable rain with me. Seriously! The part I like most is pressing a button to fold the canopy. Doesn't sound like much? Try doing it while getting into the car. I can stay covered as I sit down, then collapse the top without wrestling with wet fabric at the door. You push the stem in yourself afterwards, which is straightforward. BRILLIANT! I am sold on that alone and will be getting one for my wife!
Gabriela Sparks
Back for another after leaving mine in a restaurant (typical me).
Back for another after leaving mine in a restaurant (typical me). It gives me the coverage I need, and I still get a kick out of the opening action. Press the button and the canopy jumps straight up. Quite a lively spring, so I point it away from people first.
