Didn't relize how much cover this gives, Was expecting something smaller, But I do like it alot. The Black is what I wanted for walking in the Woods, Not some Bright thing over my head.I keep everything else pretty plain so this makes sense, and the folding size is still handy. Everyone who has looked at it Seems to Want one..Funny how you can spend time choosing outdoor gear and Forget about what you'll use when it Rains, I'd rather have this then Get Soaked..
Wesley Christian
He was delighted!!
Chose this for my brother (he's into medieval history and has actual swords)and i wanted something useful that still looked a bit different. The loop handle caught my eye and the whole thing is more solid than i expected, not cheap looking at all. He was delighted!! Now im thinking about getting one myself because its practical but still kind of cool

The quality is perfectly fine for an everyday umbrella.
The quality is perfectly fine for an everyday umbrella. My 3-year-old wants to carry it any time she sees rain, so I'll be keeping an eye on her with it.The oval handle is a little different for her to grip. BUT, she absolutely loves this one and that makes it a winner here!
Tammy Hansen
My last small gripe is the carry sleeve.
After a few uses, I'm mostly happy with this umbrella, although there are a couple of details I hadn't understood before buying it. First, the button opening is very convenient. One press extends the shaft and spreads the canopy, without having to fiddle with it. Closing takes two steps: pressing again collapses the canopy, and then the telescoping shaft has to be pushed down by hand to reset it. That is how it is meant to work, but I had pictured the entire thing drawing itself back in. Not difficult once you know, just worth being aware of. Looking over the canopy next, its attachment to the frame seems fairly conventional. I had expected something more unusual from the design, but the fabric and rib connections look much like the umbrellas I've used before. Once wrapped up, the folded ribs don't arrange themselves into a completely even bundle. I find myself smoothing the fabric a little before fastening it. Nothing has bent or given me trouble, so I am reserving judgement on how it will wear rather than calling that a fault. I may come back to this after more use. My last small gripe is the carry sleeve. It is quite a close fit and needs the canopy rolled neatly before it slides in comfortably. A little extra room would make that less fiddly. Those points aside, it has been perfectly useful in the rain so far. I haven't owned it long enough to say much about durability, but opening it and staying dry underneath it have both been fine.
Juan Maldonado
The sleeve is the one fiddly bit.
Green is a little different in person from what I expected, but still a cheerful, attractive shade.Things I like:+ Good cover for me without having to carry a long umbrella.+ Quick button opening, and another press gathers the canopy.+ Manageable weight for carrying around, with a comfortable loop handle.+ Flexible ribs that feel reassuring rather than brittle.+ Seems solidly put together, so I'm hoping for a good long run with it.The sleeve is the one fiddly bit. I need to smooth the folds down before it'll slide on nicely, but that is a small issue compared with everything I like about it.
Brian Clements
It folds down small and doesn't feel flimsy.
It folds down small and doesn't feel flimsy. I got it to replace the umbrella I was using after that one broke. There was a slight new smell at first, but a day left open to air sorted that out. I have one in each of the children's school bags now and am pleased with them.
Joe Melton
It does the job properly.
It does the job properly. I'm a student and walk quite fast to school, so having enough room under the canopy matters to me. My backpack fits underneath with me and I don't get nearly as wet around my legs. Much nicer than trying to huddle under something tiny on the way in!
Elaine Conner
I keep this handy for taking my granddaughter to the park to play.
I keep this handy for taking my granddaughter to the park to play. It feels sturdy rather than fiddly, and the button makes it simple to put up. People have asked me about it a few times. It's an ordinary practical umbrella, which is exactly what I was looking for.
Helen Conway
I wanted something for the fierce Texas sunshine and this has been…
I wanted something for the fierce Texas sunshine and this has been good for that. The green makes carrying an umbrella on a sunny day feel a bit less silly to me. It has also kept me dry on a rainy day, so it isn't just for shade. My only niggle is that it takes up more bag space than I'd like, but I'm still happy to carry it!
Haley House
EXCELLENT umbrella.
EXCELLENT umbrella. It feels properly made and gives me much more confidence in the rain than the little flimsy ones I've had. There is a generous spread when it is open, yet I can actually put this one in a tote. It is not the tiniest folded umbrella and you do notice it in the bag, but I think that is a fair trade for the coverage. Update after three years! It is still getting used and still doing what I need. Came home through a tremendous thunderstorm tonight and was very glad I had it with me. I don't need an umbrella every day, but it hasn't just sat unused either. The only part I have to think about is putting it away. A press closes the canopy, then you have to compress the telescoping section yourself. That is how it works, not something that has worn out. Not quite a one handed operation, but a small inconvenience for an umbrella I still enjoy using.
Jessica Charles
Would certainly recommend it.
Still no inside-out moments! I've taken this through plenty of wet, blustery walks and it's kept me dry each time. After roughly 30 outings over four months, the fabric and ribs look much as they did at the start. Nothing loose or looking tired. Would certainly recommend it.
Denise Wise
Feels like a proper sturdy umbrella.
Feels like a proper sturdy umbrella. The gaps between buildings on campus catch the wind badly here, and my old ones used to turn inside out all the time. This has coped well so far.It looks smart too.Its a good buy for the price and I would happily recommend it to somebody doing the same walk.
Lauren Phillips
Still, it is handy overall and I would recommend it.
The size suits me and I really like being able to open it with a button. Pressing it again gathers the canopy up, which is much easier than wrestling with wet fabric. The part I'm less keen on is having to push the telescoping stem right down before it is ready to open again. That is just how it works, but I wish there was less pushing involved. Still, it is handy overall and I would recommend it.

I'm hoping this one is with me for a good long time
Walking is a big part of my trip to work, so rainy days call for a proper umbrella. I got fed up with replacing cheap shop ones and spent some time reading before buying this. It costs more than the bargain options, yes, but the difference in feel is obvious when you hold it. The frame feels substantial and the loop handle is comfortable to hang onto. It still folds away, which is a bonus on a commute. I wasn't even 40 when I started taking umbrellas this seriously, so there were a few jokes about getting old. An older Scottish lady called me an English gentleman, which was considerably kinder. I'll happily accept that description! Mostly I'm just glad to carry something that doesn't feel temporary. I'm hoping this one is with me for a good long time; if I'm still taking it to work at 80, perhaps I should be worrying more about retiring than umbrellas!
Shari Mullen
This has turned out to be a good choice.
We'd reached the point where buying another cheap umbrella didn't seem much of a saving, so decided to "invest" in something more substantial. I wanted a compact one but didn't want it to feel flimsy just because it folded up. This has turned out to be a good choice. We have two now and use them regularly around the city, where there's usually some wind to deal with--so far they've done very well. The most useful detail for me is being able to press the button and draw the canopy in just as I'm stepping through a doorway. No need to stand outside getting wet while wrestling it shut. You still have to push the shaft back down yourself afterwards, but that's straightforward. That convenience alone makes me glad we chose these.
Connie Mcintyre
I've found this a reliable umbrella that folds away without much fuss.
I've found this a reliable umbrella that folds away without much fuss. The push button is something I appreciate every time I use it.It has had years of regular outings, including occasions where the wind picked up, and I still feel confident taking it out. I don't expect any umbrella to be indestructible, but the frame feels well put together and the canopy gives me good coverage. For something I use and put away so often, it's held up remarkably well.
Alfred James
For those unexpected showers, though, this is handy.
Living in Boston means I like to have an umbrella in my bag before the rain starts. This one folds down neatly and feels sturdier than I expected for something portable. It has been fine for the breezy, wet walks I've used it on.I'd still choose something bigger if I knew I'd be spending ages in really heavy rain. For those unexpected showers, though, this is handy. Pressing the button folds the canopy quickly when I reach a doorway or the car, then I push the shaft down by hand. The price seemed reasonable too.I'm glad I picked it.
Wayne Hayes
One of those purchases that really earns its keep!
Nearly a year of use now and I am still so happy with this umbrella! Shade was what I mainly wanted it for, though it's also been out in rain and a bit of wind. Being able to take my own patch of shade with me makes such a difference. I took it back East for a lacrosse tournament in the heat and humidity and was very glad I'd packed it! Quite a few people asked about it while we were there. After all that opening, closing and carrying around, it still looks in lovely condition. One of those purchases that really earns its keep!
Oscar Greene
OMG there's quite a new umbrella smell straight out of the sleeve!
OMG there's quite a new umbrella smell straight out of the sleeve! I let it stand open for a while and that cleared. Rolling the fabric neatly is a bit fiddly, especially if I try to hurry it, and the sleeve is snug unless I take my time. That's the only part I don't much enjoy. My three year old loves it though, and I'm happy holding it over the two of us. We have to stay fairly close, but the rain cover is good and the whole thing feels sturdy.
Kendra Finley
Does what I need, just a bit bigger folded than I expected.
Does what I need, just a bit bigger folded than I expected. Wanted something to drop into my briefcase if rain looked likely, instead of bringing the long umbrella. It does that job, though I've since noticed smaller ones about.Update: It fits the briefcase after all, and considering it folds down the amount of cover in the rain is pretty good.
Guy Gonzales
Such a handy umbrella i'm getting one for me and another daughter…
Such a handy umbrella i'm getting one for me and another daughter the clip handle makes so much sense i used to waitress and saw umbrellas forgotten everywhere keeping it clipped to your bag should help with that and the button makes putting it up and bringing the canopy down easy great purchase
Hayley Lewis
Solid in the hand but still comfortable enough to carry with me.
After wasting money on one cheap umbrella after another I thought, enough, buy a decent one for a change. Had a look around and settled on this. Yes, much better! It feels well put together and there's a satisfying swish as it opens. Solid in the hand but still comfortable enough to carry with me. Looks very smart too. I'm glad I spent a little more rather than buying yet another throwaway feeling one. I'd happily get a few of these to give as presents.
Alejandra Warren
He asks for it even when there isn't a cloud about.
My son LOVES having an umbrella of his own, and this one has made him very happy. I wasn't looking for anything complicated, just something he would enjoy taking out. He asks for it even when there isn't a cloud about. The loop handle gives him something comfortable to hold, though I help him pack it away. Haven't tried it in much wind, but that's not weather I'd be taking him out in anyway.

Mine has had about a year's use now.
Mine has had about a year's use now. Living by the waterfront in Jersey City means rain often comes with a fair amount of wind, so an umbrella gets a proper workout. You see plenty of people fighting with theirs, and more than a few abandoned by the bins. I was looking for something I could actually manage rather than another thing to wrestle with. This has been comfortable to hold in the weather I've used it in. It hasn't turned inside out on me, and the canopy gives me a useful amount of cover instead of just protecting my hair. After all that use it still feels solid. The fabric is in good shape, the handle is secure and I can't feel anything working loose. I like not having to think too much about it when the rain starts. An easy recommendation from me.
Jeremiah Wolfe
Finding her own umbrella made her even happier!
My granddaughter couldn't wait to see what was in her parcel. Finding her own umbrella made her even happier! At 9 she wants something a bit grown up, not little children's designs, and this was just right for her. It looks smart and she likes how it opens.Thank you for offering something so useful that still feels special to her. A really pleasing choice -- she's delighted. ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED!
Damon Sloan
The gray isn't showy, which I prefer.
Someone seems to have thought about how this umbrella actually gets used. The coverage is generous enough for me and the flexible ribs have handled the breezes I've encountered without fuss. I appreciate having a sleeve to put it away in, and the loop handle makes it easier to keep with my bag. The gray isn't showy, which I prefer. So far I've managed to keep track of it as well.
Ann Hancock
It's handy if a shower comes over, too.
I have two umbrellas now, but this compact one is what I take along for the grandchildren's baseball and softball games in summer! Having my own shade is GREAT when we're sitting through a game in the heat...SO much nicer than being out in the direct sun. It's handy if a shower comes over, too. (I still watch for foul balls rather than trusting an umbrella with those :-) It folds down neatly for carrying home, which I appreciate. I'm usually after a bargain and hesitated before spending the money on this one. Now that I've used it, I don't feel that way at all. It seems well put together and makes sitting at those games more pleasant. I've been telling people it was money well spent and something worth having along.
Martin Harrison
I replaced a convenience store umbrella after less than a year…
I replaced a convenience store umbrella after less than a year because I no longer trusted it in rain. This one has a more substantial feel than I expected when folded, but once open it feels secure. Haven't regretted changing it, and I am comfortable carrying it out when the forecast looks wet.
Cheryl King
What an impressive umbrella!
What an impressive umbrella! For the little I paid, it seems even better! One press sends it open, another pulls the canopy shut, then you squeeze the shaft back down by hand. Nothing mysterious once you've done it. About 105cm across when open and roughly 40cm folded, a useful size without carrying a full-length umbrella around. The frame has 30 ribs and looks very well supported. I keep looking at it and thinking I must have missed something about the price. It even turned up sooner than I was expecting. Surely a thing that feels this substantial ought to cost more? Not complaining, just still not quite understanding it! Bargain or no bargain, I would have been pleased with the umbrella itself. Nice fabric, nice action, everything looks neatly finished. I'd recommend it without waiting for some special price!
Still doing the sums.
Danielle Thompson
I'm a bit in love with this umbrella.
I'm a bit in love with this umbrella. First time I had to work out the button thing-a-ma-jig, then it was easy and opened properly. It's sitting out as a display at the moment because I think it looks lovely. Maybe one day it'll come along to my wedding, who knows. Holding it makes me feel a little bit like royalty.
Dominique Hull
Some of it has that plasticky feel everything seems to have now.
Yep, even after looking at the listing and reviews I was surprised at the size once it was unpacked. More umbrella than I really wanted, but it does the job and I'm pleased with it. Some of it has that plasticky feel everything seems to have now. No instructions with it, so took me a while to sort out the button and pushing the shaft back in by hand.
Cheryl Hensley
This is my second umbrella of this type.
This is my second umbrella of this type. I got plenty of use from the old one over several years so was happy to get another. Once it's open there is plenty of cover and it does a good job in the rain. The button for opening and folding the canopy is great. The only part I don't like is pushing the shaft all the way back in by hand, it needs a fairly firm push. Doing that while climbing into the car out of the rain can be awkward. Still a good umbrella and I would recommend it.
Dan Orr
Such a pretty umbrella!
Such a pretty umbrella! Tried it in New York in a bit of rain and light wind, and it was lovely to use. Got several compliments from all sorts of people.Pros:-cream white looks really elegant-nice amount of room for me, or two tucked close-the button saves a lot of fiddling when opening or folding the canopyCons:-can't predict how the mechanism will hold up over years, only just started using it-apparently other people like the look a little TOO much :<Things to note:-black on the underside, not cream all the way throughSadly mine was stolen almost as soon as I'd started enjoying it. :( I'd buy another though, because I loved the look and the price was fair. Hope whoever has it is at least keeping dry.
Terrance Bridges
Opens properly, folds back well, nice to use.
Compact enough for my handbag, and not much trouble to carry.
Opens properly, folds back well, nice to use.
I misplaced my first one and went back for three more.
The design is suitable for women and men.
Some umbrellas are never tidy again after their first outing.
Will this become a big untidy lump when packed away?
So far it returns to a neat shape, and the operation seems quite dependable.
Raven Boone
Tough little umbrella yes.
Tough little umbrella yes. The jointed stem feels different from a straight one (that's folding umbrellas I suppose?). Been capable through the recent rainy weeks. The button opens and folds the canopy, then you press the stem fully home by hand before reopening.A good saving on space compared with a non folding umbrella.
Harold Morgan
They're easy to pack away after too.
rainy soccer matches. My daughter plays and my husband, son and I each take one along for the stands. Gives us our own bit of shelter instead of sitting there getting soaked. They're easy to pack away after too. I'm glad I can keep cheering her on in that miserable weather they sometimes play in.WOULDN'T BE WITHOUT THEM
Brandon Daugherty
well four months on i can finally add something.
ordered this for my mom as a present and at first she hadn't had any rain to try it in, so i was waiting to hear; well four months on i can finally add something. she texted me early this april morning to say how much she likes it. her route to work takes her over the river and that's the bit where it gets windy, but she said it stayed steady and didn't flip over. she's happy with how it worked for that walk and i'm happy i picked something she actually finds useful

This has made me happier than I thought an umbrella could.
This has made me happier than I thought an umbrella could. The design looks lovely and there's room for two of us if we walk close together. The oval grip feels a little unfamiliar, so I wouldn't let a little kid wave it around playing swords or anything. It's fine to hold, just different from what I am used to.The really neat part is the button. My older umbrellas had a tiny metal catch to press while trying not to trap your thumb. (Ouch!) With this one a press sends everything straight up and it stays open without any fiddling underneath. Press again and the canopy gathers itself in. You still compress the telescoping stem yourself before it's ready to go again, but that part is straightforward. I much prefer this to hunting for a latch with cold wet fingers. Maybe I haven't looked at new umbrellas for too long, because this feels like quite a discovery to me. It's made a boring everyday thing rather satisfying. Very cool!
Javier Blanchard
Would happily recommend it.
Our daughter was delighted to get this for her fourth birthday! She spent the first two days pressing the button--must have opened it fifty times. I help with pushing the shaft in once the canopy has folded. It still works just as smoothly after all that attention. Gives her plenty of shelter without being an enormous umbrella, and she is very pleased to have one of her own. Would happily recommend it.
Morgan Salas
This one is every bit as good, maybe better.
Left my old umbrella at a relative's while traveling after having it for years, so I needed another. This one is every bit as good, maybe better. The button is easy to work and it packs down well but gives decent coverage opened. Enough room for me and my wife if we stand close.I've just bought another so there's one for each car!
Sara Vincent
The reservation is mainly cosmetic.
I have been using this umbrella for nearly two years, so it has had a reasonable opportunity to prove itself. For something that folds up, the open canopy offers useful coverage, including when the rain is coming at a slight angle. The flexible frame feels substantial rather than delicate, and the shaft and opening mechanism have remained reassuring in use. It is not an oversized umbrella, but that is part of why I actually carry it. The reservation is mainly cosmetic. The handle has picked up visible scuffs from normal carrying and being put away, despite my not being particularly rough with it. They do not affect the grip or the way the umbrella works, but they make it look older than I would have expected. I would imagine this becoming more noticeable for somebody taking it out every day. There is no practical reason for me to replace it, as it continues to do its main job well. Still, appearance is part of the purchase too, and that wear is the reason I have settled on four stars rather than five.
Brenda Hester
The loop handle is useful when I'm juggling my shopping as well.
Getting across busy parking lots is part of my normal grocery shopping, errands and getting to the bus. Rain makes that whole routine more of a nuisance, so having an umbrella that opens quickly has been a real help. I can get covered before walking away from the car instead of fumbling with it in the rain. The loop handle is useful when I'm juggling my shopping as well. My only little complaint is that, even folded, it takes up a fair bit of space in my bag, so sometimes I just carry it by the handle instead. It's still much less awkward than a long umbrella, and not a burden to hold on the walk!
Jeanne Mahoney
Finally found an umbrella I enjoy taking out!
Finally found an umbrella I enjoy taking out! The ones I had before were a disappointment, so I mainly chose this because I liked the look of it. It's even nicer in person.I've now had more than six months of use without any trouble. Opening and closing the canopy with the button is straightforward, and it feels sturdy when it's up. I've not had it blow inside out either. I also appreciate the extra coverage compared with my other folding umbrellas, without ending up with something awkwardly big to carry around. I'm delighted with how it's held up and would definitely recommend it!
Emma Harding
I LOVE carrying this umbrella!
I LOVE carrying this umbrella! I chose beige and it's such a pretty, understated colour, makes a wet day feel a little less gloomy. It also feels much better made than I expected for the money. A press of the button opens it nicely, and it has stayed in shape on the rainy days I've used it. Folded up, it goes in my bag so I can leave it there between showers. Wasn't expecting to be this happy with an umbrella, but I definitely recommend it.
Stacy Yates
Worth understanding, but not an ordeal.
My umbrellas have a habit of becoming somebody else's umbrellas. Not through generosity. I put them down, get distracted, and travel home without them. Trains, buses, taxis, somewhere near the table in a restaurant...apparently all perfectly good places to abandon a useful possession. Buying inexpensive ones seemed the sensible response. If I was going to donate them to the travelling public anyway, there wasn't much point becoming attached. That was the theory, at least.
Eventually I began wondering whether buying something I actually liked might encourage me to bring it home. Give myself a reason to check under the seat before leaving. So this black Haven represented a small change of approach. An umbrella to keep, rather than one whose disappearance was already accounted for. Black isn't an especially adventurous choice, admittedly, but it suits me. I don't need to make a statement on the pavement. Arriving somewhere reasonably dry is statement enough.
The useful thing is that keeping it with me hasn't become a chore. It goes into my backpack without demanding that everything else be rearranged around it. Open, it gives me enough shelter, although I wouldn't choose it with the intention of putting two people underneath. There are limits to togetherness in wet weather. The loop handle is a little different from the usual umbrella handle, but comfortable to carry, and gives me something definite to hold onto while gathering my other things.
We've had our outings in the rain, and I have remained considerably happier underneath it than I would have been without it. That's the important part. The opening button is convenient, particularly when I'm trying to get moving rather than stand about getting wetter. Coming back inside, another press collapses the canopy. The telescoping pole then has to be compressed manually before putting it away; the button doesn't do that last part. Worth understanding, but not an ordeal. Once I'd worked through the sequence, packing it up was straightforward. No lengthy negotiations with an unwilling umbrella.
What has surprised me most is how much more aware I am of where I've put it. Before getting off the train, I check. Before leaving a restaurant, another check. A modest improvement in personal responsibility, brought about by a rain accessory. I won't pretend that my lifelong talent for losing things has been cured, but this one is still with me and I'm glad of it. I've even caught myself looking at the clouds with a certain amount of anticipation. That probably says more than another paragraph about umbrellas could.
Angie Everett
Still, I'm glad we have them!
I had a gray umbrella ready for me and another for my groom on our wedding day. The weather stayed dry, thankfully, so they've ended up in the cars instead. They're a useful size when open and have handled rainy, breezy days well. The loop handle isn't quite as comfortable as I'd hoped for longer walks. Still, I'm glad we have them!
Angela Christensen
A GOOD SIZED canopy on something that folds away this small.
A GOOD SIZED canopy on something that folds away this small. The black looks smart and the frame feels reassuring in a breeze. Opening with the button is simple, and closing the canopy is straightforward too. A bit above what I would normally spend, though the quality is there.
Autumn Donovan
so handy for getting into the car!
nearly made myself jump with the first press! one press and it springs open, another and the canopy folds shut. yes... that same button. so handy for getting into the car! you still compress the stem by hand afterwards, but the instant folding part is brilliant. why isn't this on every umbrella!
Kristie Duarte
I appreciate the automatic opening when I am getting out into rain.
I am a larger person, so the size when opened matters more to me than how tiny it looks in a bag. My previous folding umbrella was handy, but I always had one shoulder out in the rain, along with the bottoms of my legs. I wanted better everyday cover without carrying a full length umbrella everywhere. This is about 105cm across when open and 40cm folded, which works with my briefcase. It is not enormous, so I still have to hold it fairly centrally. Rain coming in sideways can still catch my legs, and that is the limitation I would point out. In normal rain my shoulders are better covered, which was the point of changing. The canopy seems well supported by the ribs and has stayed properly in place during use. I appreciate the automatic opening when I am getting out into rain. Pressing again collapses the canopy, then I shorten the telescoping shaft manually to put it away. No mystery to it once you've done it. It has also coped with the gusts I have encountered without inverting. Overall, a useful umbrella to keep with me, with reasonable coverage rather than miraculous protection.
Trevor Combs
It feels solid when it's up and the colour looks lovely.
Blue has always been a favourite of mine, so this is just the sort of umbrella I enjoy using. It gives me decent cover, including the things I'm carrying, without being a full length umbrella. It feels solid when it's up and the colour looks lovely. An umbrella I would happily recommend to anyone wanting something compact.
