Having the canopy close at a button press is handy.
Having the canopy close at a button press is handy. It takes more effort to push the shaft all the way in afterwards, though. The button does not shorten that part, you have to do it yourself. But, I still enjoy using it - I have a weakness for cream white things.

I let it dry before putting it away with my things.
Several wet commutes have given this a decent try, and it's been excellent. I take the train and then a bus to work, so I need decent coverage without carrying a full length umbrella around. This folds small enough for my work bag but opens wide enough to cover me properly. Two people can fit at a pinch if they stay close. My previous little umbrella left my lower half damp far too often. The sleeve is useful for keeping it together in the bag; I let it dry before putting it away with my things. It dries out nicely rather than sitting soggy all day. A practical size for commuting, and it looks good too.

He's quite proud of his new umbrella.
My father wanted something with decent coverage for his trips to the golf course, so this was his christmas gift. Retirement means he's out playing three times a week. He keeps telling me how much he likes it. Opens quickly without much effort and isn't a nuisance to carry back to the clubhouse. He's quite proud of his new umbrella.
Brooke Vaughn
Very pleased with it so far.
The umbrella arrived in good shape and I've now taken it along for two weeks of golf, eight rounds altogether. I walk the course, and having some shade to hold over me on the hotter days has made things much more comfortable. Very pleased with it so far. I'd recommend it to anyone who finds those sunny walks a bit much

What a useful umbrella!!
What a useful umbrella!! Folded up it doesn't take over my bag, then it opens out to a much more useful size than I'd imagined. I'm a teacher and spend rainy afternoons outside on bus duty, so I appreciate being able to keep my shoulders covered. There's room to shelter a student beside me if we tuck in close, not the whole group of course. The Black is plain and smart, which suits me fine even on dreary days. I had looked in a few shops before finding this one and I'm glad I stuck with what I wanted.
Breanna Weaver
Very pleased to have a practical one that doesn't feel cumbersome.
Easy enough to carry around all day and it pops open quickly when needed. There's a decent amount of cover once it's up, and the loop handle is comfortable in my hand. I've liked it enough to get one each for my parents, plus a spare to leave at work (because somehow the unexpected rain always arrives on the day I decide an umbrella isn't worth bringing). Very pleased to have a practical one that doesn't feel cumbersome.

What a great umbrella.
What a great umbrella. Good broad cover overhead, cream white on the outside with black underneath, and a button to get it open because, well, who wants to wrestle with one in the rain? Looks smart AND does a proper job of keeping me dry. If you want something nice looking that also feels sturdy, this is a good choice.
Elizabeth Rojas
A sturdy, well-finished umbrella.
Finally an umbrella that gives me some proper cover. I nearly always have a stuffed backpack plus a purse, so it's not just my head I need to keep dry! With smaller ones I was forever moving things around and still ending up with a wet bag. This canopy gives me room for *everything* when I keep my bags close -- hands included. Can even share if we stand close together. It feels solid in the wind I've encountered too.A sturdy, well-finished umbrella. Walking in rain is pleasant again instead of a juggling act. Not the cheapest purchase for me, but money well spent.

Those little ribs are seriously tough, I swear.
Only a few weeks in and it's already been out in plenty of wet, windy weather. Those little ribs are seriously tough, I swear. Feels light, looks smart and seems ready for anything. A cheap umbrella would usually be finished after the first outing with me, but this one still looks like I've barely used it.
Lisa Bradley
The little carry sleeve is a nice extra too.
A replacement for a friend's old umbrella and she's delighted with it! Folded up, it looked smaller than I expected, but there's a proper useful canopy when it's open. She keeps it in the side of her car door, where it doesn't get in the way. The little carry sleeve is a nice extra too. Good value and something I would happily suggest to other people.
Kristy Smith
The blue is nice, just a little quieter than I pictured.
The shape is what appealed to me, and all those ribs make it more interesting than the usual folding umbrella. The blue is nice, just a little quieter than I pictured. I still like it, though part of me wishes I'd chosen something brighter to show off the shape.
Clifford Valentine
Easy to carry on a walk, with a comfortable oval loop to hold.
Easy to carry on a walk, with a comfortable oval loop to hold. I use the button to open it and to draw the canopy closed afterwards. Feels sturdy, and it has coped well on breezy days. The carry sleeve is simple to slip on, and the folded umbrella sits neatly in my handbag. A keeper!
Caleb Delacruz
Feels solid with all those ribs underneath.
Feels solid with all those ribs underneath. Expected to put my hand through the handle loop, but it's too snug for that. 🤣 Holding it normally is fine though. The fabric feels substantial. Opening and closing the canopy is straightforward. I'll be using this.

A lovely surprise!
An umbrella like this caught my eye in a posh shop years ago, but I couldn't bring myself to pay what they wanted. Eight years on, my husband remembered and surprised me with one. Couldn't have picked better!!! The beige is so pretty and the whole thing looks neat. Its nicely made, opens easily, and there's plenty of cover without a huge thing to carry about. It folds to go in my larger handbag. Much happier with this price too. A lovely surprise!

At last I had some rain to try this umbrella in.
At last I had some rain to try this umbrella in. I've usually made do with those tiny ones picked up at the grocery store, which never seem to cover much. Walking round NYC this time, I actually stayed dry. There was a breeze as well and this felt much less of a struggle to hold. Almost looked as though it was enjoying itself out there! Easily one of my more satisfying purchases.
Caitlin Wiley
Green turned out to be just right!
The two green umbrellas were Christmas gifts for our granddaughters, they were a big hit! They spent ages dancing around the tree carrying them. When the rain picked up the next day, they were even more excited to try their presents outside. We grownups liked the amount of cover they had, and the umbrellas felt solid when we opened them. Green turned out to be just right!
Lee Townsend
A very useful umbrella that I'm glad I bought.
Mine mostly lives in the car through the rainy season here in the Bay area. I've had it a couple of years and it has been dependable whenever I've needed it. Folded up it fits into my backpack, with the sleeve keeping everything together rather than loose in the bag. I wouldn't call it tiny, but carrying it hasn't been a bother. It went with me to China and Russia as well, so it hasn't only been sitting in the car. It handled the rain and blustery weather well on those trips. A very useful umbrella that I'm glad I bought.
Fred Eaton
I LOVE IT.
From the pictures I had imagined a pale inside, so the black underside was a surprise. The cream white outer fabric looks lovely, and there's a decent amount of room once it's opened. I LOVE IT. I was a little cautious about the open / close button at first, but it works nicely. I'll still be gentle with it as I want to keep using this one for a long time!
Charlene Shaw
The build feels very nice, with plenty of ribing supporting it.
WOW, more cover than I expected from something that folds up. My wife and I can stand close together underneath, though it's really comfortable for one. The build feels very nice, with plenty of ribing supporting it. Couldn't be happier. Having a button to open it is a bonus rather than a necessity for me.
Glen Mcneil
I'd certainly had my money's worth.
My previous compact umbrella had given me several good years, so replacing it with another compact seemed the sensible thing to do. I wasn't annoyed about needing a new one; I'd certainly had my money's worth. This one suits the same routine. On a cloudy morning I can put it in my purse rather than carrying a long umbrella around all day.It gives useful coverage when opened, so the smaller folded size doesn't feel like much of a compromise. During one blustery outing the canopy did turn inside out, but I turned it back again and it carried on working. Afterwards it closed and folded normally, nothing to fuss with. That's the sort of practicality I want from an umbrella. Pretty tough little thing!! I'd happily recommend it.

I don't see many like it around here & that makes me smile.
Easy to carry & easy to work, but what I enjoy just as much is how cheerful this umbrella looks overhead. Pink is a welcome sight in Portland, where we have more than enough grey & rainy days! I don't see many like it around here & that makes me smile. An umbrella I had before was stolen at a train station, so finding something I enjoy carrying again is a pleasure. Thank you for making a practical thing feel a little less ordinary!
Nina Olsen
The pink is nice as well.
The umbrella I used before this had automatic opening and closing and I was very attached to it, until I left it behind on a family vacation. I picked this one as a replacement and wasn't certain about the different handle when I first saw it. After carrying it for a while I actually prefer it to the old one. The loop gives me a comfortable hold and I don't feel like I'm constantly adjusting my hand when it's breezy. The pink is nice as well. The button folds the canopy, and I compress the pole by hand to finish putting it away. That suits me fine. Mostly it does the same job my old umbrella did, but the handle makes it nicer to use.
Adriana Henderson
My son thinks this umbrella is wonderful.
My son thinks this umbrella is wonderful. It has stood up to the use a three year old gives things, with me keeping an eye on him! It looks nicely made and the blue is a good strong colour. I prefer the button to fiddling with a little catch on the pole. I help him finish putting it away, but he loves seeing it pop open and is always eager to use it.
Jacqueline Hayes
Looks smart as well without being fussy.
Where i live it rains enough that i've got through my fair share of umbrellas, and this one has been a good find. If your wanting something tiny for a little handbag this probably isn't it. It folds up but there is still a fair bit to it. Once open though i get proper room over my shoulders, which is what i wanted rather than a little circle just over my head. I've been out in wet breezy weather with it and haven't had to wrestle it back into shape or keep stopping to sort it out.The handle is different from the old fashioned sort but i like having that closed shape to hold onto. Looks smart as well without being fussy. To me it is worth paying for something decent instead of always picking up another cheap umbrella

A compact umbrella that actually feels comfortable to use.
A compact umbrella that actually feels comfortable to use. My husband nearly claimed it when it arrived, so we ended up discussing what makes one little umbrella nicer to carry than another. Mostly the grip, we decided, although there are a few other things here that I appreciate compared with my usual umbrella:1. The handle gives me something substantial to hold, rather than feeling like I'm pinching a tiny knob. Much nicer with wet hands.2. The closed oval loop is a different arrangement from the dangling wrist strap I'm used to. I wasn't sure about the shape at first but I find it comfortable.3. The sleeve makes it easier to put away neatly instead of having folded fabric catching on everything else in my bag.4. A press of the button opens it, and another press folds the canopy. You do still have to compress the telescoping section manually afterwards, but being able to get the canopy down quickly is a useful extra.
The size is about right for me. Folded up it fits in my purse and doesn't feel like I've packed some enormous piece of equipment for the possibility of a shower. Open, there's enough coverage that I'm not constantly adjusting it to keep my shoulders dry. It also leaves me room to pass people on a busy pavement, which matters more than I thought it would. I've used it where wind comes between the buildings and it has coped well, without feeling flimsy in my hand. So far I haven't found anything about it that I'd want changed.

Nice little umbrella for shade beside the children's picnic table!
Nice little umbrella for shade beside the children's picnic table! We hold it when we need it rather than leave it outside (folded up, it fits in the coat closet) and ours has been useful for three summers! One thing I'd watch is the price. It's a handy umbrella, but I wouldn't pay much over a normal folding umbrella just for this use. Worth having a look around before buying, especially if you're only wanting it for occasional shade!
Cindy Hanson
It looks very smart and the button works nicely.
My mother-in-law wanted a gray umbrella for Christmas, specifically one with automatic opening. I had looked at several that weren't the colour she wanted, so finding this was a relief. It looks very smart and the button works nicely. I think she'll be delighted to have the plain gray one she asked for.
Carrie Pennington
Just picked up my second one and I'm delighted with it!
Just picked up my second one and I'm delighted with it! The first gave me about three years of use, which seems pretty good for an umbrella to me. This one arrived quickly too, and has the same solid feel I liked before. I'd happily suggest it to anyone looking for a useful umbrella, and I'd choose it again if I needed another.
Vickie Gilbert
The quality is very good, although I waited over a month for it.
The quality is very good, although I waited over a month for it. That was the only part I was not so pleased with.
For the umbrella itself, everything was in good condition and feels good quality. I still give it five stars.
I hope the waiting can be shorter in future, I think that would help more people try it.
Ethan Tran
Go on, you're allowed a small everyday luxury.
Not the cheapest and you do notice a little weight, but this is a seriously good umbrella. The build is solid, the button is straightforward, and rainy commutes feel much less of a battle. Those flimsy little umbrellas ought to be nervous. Mine has already attracted admiring looks from fellow commuters, which is not something I expected to say about a gray umbrella. There's something deeply satisfying about having a practical thing that actually feels up to its job. You could keep spending on umbrellas you don't enjoy carrying, or just get one you do. Go on, you're allowed a small everyday luxury. Just don't let it go to your head and start strutting down the pavement in the rain, announcing yourself as the grand champion of staying dry. That might be a bit much.

After using this I don't much fancy going back to my old umbrella.
My sister liked my first one so much that it ended up with her, so I bought myself another. It gives me decent cover when the rain comes at an angle and feels reassuring in a breeze (people have noticed it too). After using this I don't much fancy going back to my old umbrella. Folded, it still takes up a bit of space in my bag, but that's a small trade off. The one I passed on had a year's use and was still looking really good.
Norma Mcmahon
Looks smart when it is opened out.
Looks smart when it is opened out. The green outside has a plain black underside, quite a nice contrast. The canopy is a useful middle size and the handle doesn't feel too long. There is a fairly substantial feel to the fabric. After pressing the button to fold the canopy, I push the pole down by hand and wind the fabric in closely. It come with a sleeve, and I find it goes back inside much easier when I take a moment to wrap it neatly.
Gene Mcbride
I LOVE how solid the frame feels, yet the ribs have some give.
Big enough for me without being awkward to carry around. Press the button and up it goes. I LOVE how solid the frame feels, yet the ribs have some give. Only two things for me: I'd prefer a wrist strap AND you do have to push the shaft back down yourself after the button shuts the canopy. That's just how it works, not a problem. Otherwise, love it! :)
Dalton Waller
This hits that middle ground for me.
I wanted something strong enough for wind and rain without hauling a golf umbrella down crowded streets. This hits that middle ground for me. It's my second umbrella like this, and the folded size is a big part of why I came back. I've taken it out on the pier while people were watching a storm roll in. I had my rain jacket on as well, because an umbrella isn't going to keep every drop off you out there. Kept both hands on it when the breeze picked up and pointed it into the rain. It stayed open and did its job. Not saying it's for every storm, but for the rain I actually go out in, it's my favourite.
Tristan Woodward
A good umbrella in black.
A good umbrella in black. I'm satisfied with what I paid and with the umbrella itself. Everything seems in order, the fabric is nice and it opens without any trouble. Thank you for a straightforward purchase. I wanted a useful umbrella rather than anything fancy, so this has been a good choice for me.
Bailey Case
It feels solid and looks sweet.
My daughter takes this outside on sunny days. She and the other girls enjoy walking around the neighborhood carrying their umbrellas. Six months of regular play later, it still looks tidy and works properly. It feels solid and looks sweet. The button is simple for her to use, and I help finish putting it away.
Cathy Mercado
So impressed!!!!!
I have a few of these umbrellas now, and the quality has been excellent! Hard to reach for the old flimsy ones after using this.So impressed!!!!! My older teens and college kids like the look too. They take one along to classes or when travelling, easy to carry with all the other things they seem to need every day.
Shawna Potter
The handle feels solid in use.
The blue is uniform and the fabric is secured neatly to the frame. The handle feels solid in use. Getting the umbrella out of its wrapping was more of a performance than operating it, though.Warning: watch where the fabric is before you start cutting. I picked apart the outer layers first, then carefully opened the remaining wrapping rather than trying to cut straight through the lot. Once I finally got to the umbrella, a single press had it open. Happy with the umbrella itself!
Alexa Atkins
The button works as it should and the canopy gives me decent cover.
I wanted something less cumbersome for travelling than a full sized umbrella, but apparently my idea of compact and the space in my bag had different opinions. It wasn't quite the tiny bundle I had pictured. Not a disaster, just one of those little things that annoys you when you're trying to pack, but there it is. Personally I would rather not have to think about where an umbrella goes at all. Anyway, I moved a couple of things around and it fitted in the main part of the bag perfectly well, so that sorted it. In use it has been perfectly satisfactory, too. The button works as it should and the canopy gives me decent cover. My gripe is really about the size I had in my head, not something wrong with the umbrella.

"TREMBLE, CLOUDS, YOUR PLANS HAVE BEEN FOILED!
"TREMBLE, CLOUDS, YOUR PLANS HAVE BEEN FOILED!" is more or less my mood when I pull this umbrella out. I've only owned it a few days so I'm not going to pretend I can predict its entire future, but no trouble yet. A couple of compliments too, along with a look that might have been for my enthusiasm rather than the umbrella. It *feels* solid. We'll see.One thing I noticed is that I sometimes carry it at an angle, so the folded end catches the doorway if I'm not paying attention. Not really the umbrella's fault, I am apparently not graceful with objects. The loop handle gives me something decent to hold, though. Perhaps I should just learn where the end is instead of devising some grand carrying solution, idk.Anywho... I think it's AWESOME! and Seattle should give me plenty of reasons to have it along.
Kaylee Vincent
With that understood, I think it's a sensible balance.
Lovely looking umbrella with a reassuring feel--not flimsy, and easy enough to carry! My ONLY caution is about expectations (was I picturing a golf umbrella???). The open width is around 105cm, which is comfortable cover for one person, not some enormous roof. Folded it's about 40cm, so compact doesn't mean it will disappear in every tiny handbag. With that understood, I think it's a sensible balance. I can walk along the pavement without constantly moving it out of everyone's way, yet there's proper shelter overhead. Anyone after lots of spare room around two adults should think about the size before buying.
Stanley Simpson
This one inspires more confidence.
Still waiting to try this in a proper gust, but the finish is nice and it feels well put together. My previous umbrella seemed to fold itself backwards at the slightest breeze. This one inspires more confidence. I've already suggested it to a friend! Seems a fair price for what you get.
Mackenzie Mayo
A very good umbrella for the money.
Hard to argue with the value here. I can get it open without wrestling with catches near my fingers, which is a big improvement for me. Nothing fancy about the canopy, but it has already handled a couple of thunderstorms without any drama. A very good umbrella for the money.
Reginald Salinas
I think that says enough about how happy she is.
The loop handle caught my eye when I was looking for an umbrella for my sister. She likes things that look a little different. This was for her car, so she'd have one when rain caught her out. Now she's talking about another for home. I think that says enough about how happy she is.
Jennifer Li
They do the job and look good, which is enough for me.
I'm not sure why the earlier review was so negative. Mine have been perfectly good umbrellas for ordinary rain, and the button makes them straightforward to use. I own them myself and have also given several away as presents. For what I paid I really don't know what more I could ask for. They do the job and look good, which is enough for me.
Jay Lucero
This umbrella handles gusty rain surprisingly well.
This umbrella handles gusty rain surprisingly well. Walking in drizzle is much less of a battle.. except.. there isn't much room underneath. Sharing would be out of the question for me. Perhaps that's the compromise with a compact umbrella meant for crowded streets? I'm 5'7" and around 140 pounds, hardly someone who needs acres of shelter. Even so, I feel squeezed in, and rain gets onto my shoes when walking. Holding it farther forward helps my feet but leaves my back exposed. Ugh. Please, please, please make a compact version nearer fifty inches across! A huge sixty-ish inch umbrella isn't what I'm after either. The overall construction feels fairly ordinary. Nothing about the finish gives me much confidence about how long it will last. Another $20 for something that felt better put together would have been fine by me. Getting it closed and neatly fastened also takes more fuss than my old umbrella did. Having said all that, its handling in the wind is genuinely good. If wrestling an umbrella is what bothers you most, that part is worth considering. I'm hoping a future version gives us more coverage and a better finish without becoming enormous. It could be a really good umbrella with those changes.
Jodi Mayer
I lost my black umbrella last year and i have buy this one now.
I lost my black umbrella last year and i have buy this one now. It gives again that feeling of a good umbrella, the quality is there and im very satisfed. In the wind it holds good but I wouldnt expect it to stand every strong storm, for ordinary rain its been very nice
William Landry
This umbrella means business!
This umbrella means business! I used to stick to large plain ones because they looked smart with proper clothes. The blue looks good too, and this is less awkward to carry. It's wide enough for me and has handled my rainy walks without flipping. KEPT ME DRY, which is what matters. Worth the money!
Tyrone Higgins
Overall I'm pleased with it.
I wanted this for those gusty, rainy NYC days rather than just a sprinkle. It got a proper outing when the storm came through and did a damn good job keeping most of me dry. The frame feels solid when a breeze catches it, but rain blowing sideways still gets at my lower legs. Not a huge deal, it's a handheld umbrella and there's only so much it can cover. I'll have to pay a bit more attention to the angle I'm holding it at. Overall I'm pleased with it.
Shaun Fernandez
Not the fanciest umbrella I've handled, but it keeps the rain off.
Not the fanciest umbrella I've handled, but it keeps the rain off. I had been making do with a tiny one for ages and kept putting off choosing a replacement. Decided to give this a try and I'm glad I did. The fabric doesn't feel especially thick, though so far water hasn't come through it. There is much better coverage than my little one, and two people could stand close under it if necessary. I wouldn't choose it as a roomy umbrella for sharing, but for everyday use by myself it makes sense.Quick note on carrying it, folded doesn't mean pocket sized. It fits my bag but takes up some space, which is worth knowing before you buy. For the money I think it's a sensible choice, even if you don't use an umbrella every day.
