Straightforward enough, just a little effort needed.

Keeps my head and shoulders reasonably dry and the button gets the canopy up or down without a fuss. You still have to press the telescoping stem together yourself afterwards, so putting it away isn't entirely automatic. Straightforward enough, just a little effort needed.

Not exactly the appearance I expected from the picture - the gray outside looks fine, but with the black underside it feels rather dark when you're beneath it. I also find the sleeve fiddly to put back on - you need to fold the fabric neatly [not just bunch it together] or it becomes a struggle. That takes more patience than I generally have when coming in from the rain. On the good side, the canopy gives decent cover and the button gets it open quickly. It's useful, just not quite as convenient or as airy looking as I had hoped.

Would recommend it without hesitation.

This one has lasted me three years and still works just as it should. I've had others that seemed almost disposable, but not this. Everything still opens neatly and keeps the rain off. The one I replaced before it was lost rather than worn out. Would recommend it without hesitation.

I wanted sun and rain cover..

Searched for a decent umbrella to take on my tricycle rides. I wanted sun and rain cover..and..just for the fun of having one along. It folds down enough to carry, then I can hold it up when I stop on the trail. There are stretches where it's nice to take a break out of the sun. Does what I need, and the smiles from people seeing me with my umbrella are a bonus.

Hannah Hamilton

My reservation is the size.

I'll try not to ramble, The mechanism is smooth and the design looks quite smart in person. A press gets it open, another collapses the canopy, then you push the telescoping section together to pack it away. No real complaint there.I haven't had it out in gusty weather yet (I'll add something if I do). My reservation is the size. Roughly 105cm across sounds generous, but I'd still appreciate a little more room at the edges. Yes, a few centimetres matter when the rain is coming at an angle (I notice these things). I'd accept a slightly longer folded umbrella if it meant a broader canopy, rather than making everything as short as possible. That's my little measuring argument over!

Isaac Mcguire

The button is handy for opening it and bringing the canopy back in.

I'm tall and I get fed up with umbrellas that leave my shoulders wet, so I paid attention to the size before buying. This gives me proper cover without needing to carry a great long umbrella. Another person can get in beside me if we stay close, though I mostly use it on my own. It has a solid feel and has coped nicely with the breezy rain I've used it in. Folded it is around 40cm, not tiny, but a sensible tradeoff for the cover you get. The button is handy for opening it and bringing the canopy back in. You do still push the shaft down yourself afterwards, which is straightforward. Best of all, I can actually get the thing back into its sleeve. I've had others where that seemed impossible after the first use. With this I straighten out the folds and it slides in without a fight. That sounds like a small detail but it makes carrying it around a lot less irritating.

I am pleased with how it has been so far.

My 5 year old daughter had been asking for an umbrella of her own for ages, and she was so excited to open this when it arrived. She loves the green. It feels well made and has already had a lot of opening and closing, with me helping her use the button and push the stem back in. We've taken it out in the rain twice and she stayed nice and dry under it. It's larger than a little children's umbrella, which is fine as I carry it for her. I am pleased with how it has been so far.

The opening action is good too.

There is a more substantial feel to this umbrella than to the folding ones I've used before. You do notice a little extra weight when carrying it, although it still folds down neatly for storage. For me that's a fair exchange for something that feels sturdy in a bit of wind. The opening action is good too. I'd recommend it.

So far I'm delighted with what I've unpacked.

I expected quite a lot from this one--folding umbrellas with a button are my preference, and I wanted blue rather than the usual dark crowd on a rainy pavement. So far I'm delighted with what I've unpacked. The canopy has more room than I'd pictured, without turning into a huge bundle when folded. I've had little umbrellas before that were convenient until I realised my shoulders were outside them, and this looks much more useful. Haven't had the first proper rain of the season yet, but for once I won't mind seeing some clouds come in.

Mine stays in the car for unexpected rain and fits into the map compartment in the door. That button making it spring open is still so satisfying (Ready for anything!) A couple of years of keeping it there and using it, and it still looks good and works just as it should.

She says the new umbrella is lovely.

Our granddaughter was so pleased with hers at Christmas. Her brother's pretend sword fighting put an end to that one, so we replaced it as promised. She says the new umbrella is lovely. We also gave one to a little girl nearby, and she is delighted with hers too.

Brendan Dillon

He was soooo happy!!!

My grandson's umbrella was supposed to be a Christmas present, but it turned into a very late present instead. His birthday came and went, then his sister's, and I was beginning to wonder if we would ever see it. When it finally turned up...what a reaction!!! He was soooo happy!!! He has shown it to family and friends and even had people ask about it when he's carrying it. There were updates while I was waiting, so at least I wasn't completely in the dark about the delay. I kept waiting because I knew he wanted his own special umbrella, and seeing his face made the wait worthwhile. The handle and the push button are a big part of the attraction for him. Now a rainy forecast is good news as far as he's concerned, just an excuse to take it outside. Late, yes, but one delighted grandson!!!!!!

This has suited me well.

Taking the bus regularly means I need an umbrella that can live in my briefcase and cope with the wind between stops. This has suited me well. Several wet journeys in, it still feels solid and has kept the rain off nicely. One particularly blustery downpour gave it a decent tryout and I had no trouble. A useful choice for someone commuting without a car.

Gabriella Wilkerson

only been out with it maybe half a dozen times, fine so far.

only been out with it maybe half a dozen times, fine so far. The button is handy, just dont forget the centre pole needs pressing down by hand before it'll open again, caught myself there ha. Lent it to someone and they said "nice umbrella that" which i thought too.

Grant Beltran

Not too big, not tiny.

Four stars for now, simply because it has only been out a couple of times with me. It has felt sturdy in the Chicago breeze so far, and looks quite smart as well. I'd recommend it for someone wanting decent coverage without having an enormous umbrella to lug around. Not too big, not tiny.

Suzanne Reeves

Folds up small and I like that very much.

I lost three umbrellas over a couple months before getting this one. The city gets windy but so far this has done fine for me. Folds up small and I like that very much. I may still buy a larger umbrella when it really pours, just to have more covering than a compact one gives

A nice addition to the things I take when I travel.

A nice addition to the things I take when I travel. The price suited me, and it looks smart without trying too hard. People have commented on my travel things before, which always makes me smile. Now I have a good-looking umbrella along too, so a rainy day doesn't have to spoil the look.

Russell Williamson

Would happily buy another!

When I opened the parcel I was honestly expecting something that looked a bit cheap, but no, I love it! I've had about four umbrellas of this sort and they keep disappearing on me, seems other people like them as much as I do but I wish they would buy their own. Really hoping I can hang on to this one for a good while, I am already thinking of another for my 15 year old daughter though, she would want her own color. Mine is blue and it looks so nice, I LIKE IT A LOT, came quickly too and everything was fine, thank you! Would happily buy another!

Also, the dog pictured next to it is very cute.

There is a good amount of room under this and I've stayed dry in some proper downpours. The loop handle gives me a secure way to hold it, which I appreciate when I've got other things with me. Nicely done. It's been a pleasure having an umbrella that gives me decent shelter without being huge when folded. Also, the dog pictured next to it is very cute.

THE UMBRELLA IS MADE REALLY NICELY AND WAS WORTH WHAT WE PAID.

MY WIFE AND I PICKED THIS OUT AS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR MY MOTHER. THE UMBRELLA IS MADE REALLY NICELY AND WAS WORTH WHAT WE PAID. IT LOOKS VERY SMART, SIMPLE BUT PRETTY, AND MY MOTHER LOVES IT. THE BUTTON PUTS IT UP AND CLOSES THE CANOPY AGAIN WHICH SHE FINDS HANDY. I WOULD RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE WANTING A DECENT UMBRELLA. SHE GETS ALOT OF NICE COMMENTS WHEN SHE TAKES IT OUT. WE ARE SO PLEASED SHE LIKES HER PRESENT THIS MUCH. A REALLY GOOD BUY!!!

Tara Porter

Bigger opened out than I was expecting!

Bigger opened out than I was expecting! Folded, it's still a bit longer than I really wanted (should have checked that myself)! That's my only gripe. The construction seems good and the loop handle sits comfortably in my hand. For the coverage it gives, I don't find it heavy to take along.

Ariana Whitaker

Nothing to complain about yet.

Odd thing to put in a headline, I suppose, but an umbrella lasting through blustery weather impresses me. Nothing to complain about yet. The blue stands out from the ones around me and cheers up a dull day. My previous one folded a bit smaller, though I can still get this one into my purse.

Sheryl Norman

Good solid umbrellas and easy to handle!

I wasn't sure about paying this much for an umbrella...I ordered two on-line, so the $ adds up quick...but after opening them I don't feel like I threw money away. Good solid umbrellas and easy to handle! Sometimes I get too caught up in finding the cheapest thing...this time I'm glad I spent the extra!

Claudia Williamson

The fabric and the mechanism have a substantial, rather refined feel.

Attention has been given to the stitching and to the finish around the handle. The fabric and the mechanism have a substantial, rather refined feel. There is some weight to it, and it is not the smallest folded umbrella for leaving in a bag permanently. For someone who values a good finish over the very lightest carry, it is a pleasing choice.

Shari Lane

A solid, practical umbrella.

After several years of use, mine is still all in one piece and working just right! A solid, practical umbrella. The pink is lovely and I'm still so happy I picked it! I don't feel any need to go looking for a replacement. Looks and everyday usefulness both get full marks from me!

Dalton Hatfield

Everyday things ought to hold up, and I've been happy with this one.

Looking online was my answer to finding an umbrella that didn't feel disposable. This one feels substantial in the hand and has coped well with blustery weather. Straightforward to use. I misplaced my original and bought the same one again, which probably says enough. Everyday things ought to hold up, and I've been happy with this one.A little extra width would make it even better, but it's a good umbrella.

Jasmin Tapia

Chicago's nickname may have more to do with politicians than weather, but we still get enough breezes to test an umbrella. This one has behaved well on my walks and covers me and my shoulder bags. A little bulky once folded, though I'd rather that than have my things getting wet.

Stacy Casey

A very satisfying purchase.

A very satisfying purchase. So ordinary looking when folded, then out pops a proper umbrella! The short oval handle suits my grip, though anyone after a long sword-like handle might feel differently. Easy to carry & far less theatrical than I expected, which rather adds to the undercover appeal. Nobody seeing it by the door would guess it's waiting for its next secret mission: escorting me through the rain with ridiculous amounts of dignity!

Diana Case

The coverage is ample for everyday purposes

A little poetry to begin: in The Merchant of Venice mercy falls as "the gentle rain from heaven." I didn't really appreciate that description until a summer in England, where the rain went on quietly without wind and an umbrella even kept one's shoes dry. North America offers a less gentle version, with heavy showers and gusts, and this umbrella has served me well there. A favorable test I read persuaded me to buy it. The coverage is ample for everyday purposes; larger umbrellas would be awkward for anyone not stationed at a doorway. There is one caution. That lively opening action comes with a strong spring. The canopy folds at a button press, but pushing the shaft back to its shortened position takes some strength. Elderly users, or those with weaker arms, may find that part a struggle. P.S. Green is a very handsome color.

The underside is black, so you notice that when you look up, but the cream white on top is very nice, folds down neatly and seemed a bit delicate at first, after using it though I wouldn't call it flimsy, it goes back into the sleeve fine and is easy to take along in case of rain.

Gordon Nguyen

The black inside is quite noticeable, but the gray outside looks very nice, it seems quite slight when folded and I wasn't sure how sturdy it would be, after using it I can say it feels just as dependable as a regular umbrella, and it goes back into its sleeve neatly for carrying in case of rain.

Debra Riddle

For the money I can live with that.

Nothing fancy, a folding umbrella that goes up with a button and has a sleeve to put it away in.It has kept me dry so far, although it doesn't feel especially substantial. For the money I can live with that. I tend not to spend a lot on umbrellas because I have a habit of leaving them somewhere. This one covers the basic job, which is all I wanted from it.

Max Hartman

People have commented on how nice it looks when we're out together.

Gave this to the friend I usually walk with because she was after an umbrella that looked a bit prettier. She likes it a lot. People have commented on how nice it looks when we're out together. It was in good shape when it arrived and a year on she's still using it without any trouble.

Linda Harding

Useful coverage for one person on a rainy walk.

Useful coverage for one person on a rainy walk. The frame feels substantial and the whole thing looks smart enough for work. Not tried any really rough weather yet, but it hasn't been tugging at my hand on ordinary breezy days. Automatic opening is quick and smooth. Even the loop handle seems properly made, nothing thin or flimsy about it.

Gerald Booth

Please read my five stars as a first impression.

Please read my five stars as a first impression. It came today and we've had sunshine, so I can't report on how it handles rain yet. In the hand it feels substantial, a little heavier than the usual folding umbrella, and everything looks neatly finished. Both button functions work as expected. Closing means the canopy folds in; you still have to push the telescoping shaft back down yourself before putting it away. That part is normal, not the button failing to do its job. I wanted something that felt well made rather than the lightest thing possible, and on that basis I'm happy with what I received.

Don Ayers

The umbrella is absolutely fine, very happy with that part.

Didn't have time to search through department stores for a sturdy umbrella, so ordered this instead. The umbrella is absolutely fine, very happy with that part. But the box and air pillows for this one item practically took over my bin. Please think about using a narrow tube or a box that actually fits it, rather than sending a single umbrella surrounded by an enormous amount of empty space and packing.

Lost my black umbrella and fancied a change, gray isn't overly dressy well maybe a bit, but looks smart, finally opened it today ready for tomorrow raining. The loop handle is different from what I had, feels comfortable though and the material seems heavier duty than my old one. Opens fast which is what I want stepping out of the car, no standing about fiddling with it. One SMALL thing about auto close, it gathers the canopy at the button then the telescoping pole needs pushing down by hand, same as my older one did. So it's quick to get covered but not a completely hands off packing away, still the fabric feels good and I like gray instead of another plain black one.

Misty Roy

One of the nicer umbrellas I've owned, and it feels like good quality.

Living in Arizona, I don't reach for an umbrella very often, so this was mainly for trips to New York City and elsewhere. It also came along bird watching in the Brazilian rain forest recently, and I was glad to have it. Opening it is simple and putting it away hasn't been a struggle. It felt steady when the breeze picked up, and wasn't a burden to carry around. Fits in my purse for travelling. One of the nicer umbrellas I've owned, and it feels like good quality.

Patty Mullen

nicely put together and easy to carry.

nicely put together and easy to carry. we spend alot of time watching soccer with the family, so having some shade helps. the ones in the shops were more than i wanted to spend, ended up getting two of these instead. good room for one person under each, and useful when it rains too. ours go along whenever we're heading to games now, definitely money well spent

Shaun Conley

Plenty of room under it, and it feels sturdy.

Plenty of room under it, and it feels sturdy. I appreciate getting decent coverage from an umbrella that still folds down, rather than having a long one to lug around. I'm a tall guy, so some little travel umbrellas feel pretty useless, but this one is a comfortable size for me.

Bailey Buckley

Everything works fine, just wish packing it was quicker.

Beautiful cream white umbrella, makes a miserable wet day feel a little nicer. The only annoyance is getting the fabric folded neatly, takes me some fiddling when I'm in a hurry. Everything works fine, just wish packing it was quicker.but its roomy when open and looks so nice, still really pleased with it!

Daisy Moreno

We are both delighted with this choice

This umbrella was my second purchase, chosen especially as a present for my best friend. She was delighted with it and said it was such a nice change from the umbrellas she usually carries. During the ongoing rainy spell she has been keeping it within reach for her daily outings. It is a pleasure finding a present that is useful and appreciated. We are both delighted with this choice

Kathleen Abbott

Small enough for my bag and not heavy to take along.

Small enough for my bag and not heavy to take along. It is useful in rain and also when I need a little shade. For the price I think it is a very good buy. The button takes a firm press at first, but once I got used to that it opened easily. I am happy with it.

Marc Miller

This feels like a really good umbrella.

This feels like a really good umbrella. More room underneath than I expected, considering how small it looks folded.Very glad I went for a compact one (a long umbrella is awkward for me to carry).Several people I know have asked about it and decided they wanted one after seeing mine.

Micheal Padilla

It is lovely having a practical umbrella that also looks this nice.

Received this as a Christmas present and it's been a delight! Packed away it is neat enough to carry, then opened out the beige looks lovely and even. The underside is black (quite a contrast when you look underneath)and it has a nice, solid feel. I've used it in rain and stayed dry, which matters as much as the appearance. Liked mine enough to get another to give away too. It is lovely having a practical umbrella that also looks this nice.

Penny Lowe

It is about 40cm when folded and feels quite solid

where I live it gets ridiculously hot in summer, around 120 degrees sometimes. Lotions with SPF bother my skin, so I started carrying an umbrella for some shade. This gives me a useful patch of shadow without being a long thing to carry. It is about 40cm when folded and feels quite solid

Gabrielle Zimmerman

The black canopy looks neat and clean.

I love having this umbrella about, First thing I noticed was the solid construction, it seems carefully put together and not flimsy in the hand. There is the button to open it, a good number of flexible ribs, and that closed loop handle is a little different from the usual handle. The black canopy looks neat and clean. Here in Arizona there is not much rainfall, but goodness there is enough sunshine to make up for it, Temperatures around a hundred are nothing unusual. An umbrella earns its place for shade here, not only waiting beside the door for rain. A hat is useful but mine never seems to shade both my face and shoulders properly. For being outside around the garden this one is a welcome companion. the neighbors either side have umbrellas out too now, it is rather nice seeing people making their own little shady spot. Mine is black, the lady to the right likes the simple black look, and the younger neighbor on the other side has a black one as well..different people with much the same idea. I would sooner have shade over my cheeks than all that sunshine beating straight down on them. Certainly recommend it for a sun shade, and yes for taking along to the golf course too...(bg). A full five stars from me.

Noah Parker

I never have enough hands in the rain.

Toddler, stroller, diaper bag...I never have enough hands in the rain. I'm not very strong either, so a button to open and collapse the canopy is a big help getting into the car. The shaft needs pushing back down afterwards, which I do once I'm in. Much easier than wrestling with the whole umbrella!

Vicki Jarvis

Very pleased with this find!

I wanted a black umbrella and nearly settled for the first one I found - until I looked at the total cost. Well, no thanks. Kept looking and came across this one, which made a lot more sense for my budget! It looks smart in the pictures, but I like it even better in my hand. There is plenty of cover without lugging a giant umbrella around, and the opening button is a pleasure to use. Very pleased with this find!

Brenda Page

Excellent to use.

Excellent to use. This makes four I've bought as presents. The button is convenient, and the loop handle clips onto my briefcase or backpack. I like wrapping the fabric the other way round, so I fuss with the folds myself before sliding the sleeve on. A small thing, but it makes packing it up more comfortable for me.
