Good umbrella for wet days with a bit of wind about.

Good umbrella for wet days with a bit of wind about. The 30 flexible rebs give it a verry solid feel. The canopy can move a little rather than feeling rigid, which makes it easier to handle when a breeze catches it. I've had cheaper golf umbrellas before and this feels better put together then those did. Not as huge to carry around either, but still enough cover for me. Much happier with this one than the ones I had before.

I want to keep using this umbrella for ages!

I thought the underside looked lighter in the photos, but it's actually black. The pink outside looks right, and the open size is a bit roomier than I expected. I LOVE IT. The button action is quite quick / snappy, so I'm going to treat the mechanism carefully rather than be heavy handed. I want to keep using this umbrella for ages!

Happy with how it handles ordinary rain.

Bought it for the commute and the construction is reassuring, though there are a couple of things I would change. A slightly larger grip would suit me better.First, it's compact but still takes up a fair stretch of space in my work bag. Not a deal breaker, just not tiny. Also the oval loop isn't quite as comfortable for my hand as a fuller handle. It works, and I can hold it securely, but the compact shape is a compromise. Happy with how it handles ordinary rain.

The ribs give it a reassuring feel.

Having lived in places where the weather can be quite different, I tend to look for an umbrella that feels sturdy rather than just small. This one has done well so far in light showers and heavier rain, including the sort that comes at you sideways. The ribs give it a reassuring feel. Closing is the only part I find a bit harder then expected; the button gathers the canopy, but pushing the telescoping shaft back down takes some effort. Not enough to put me off using it. The oval loop handle feels secure in my hand, even when the weather gets blustery. Open it's a useful size, without being enormous, and folded it fits in my backpack or larger tote. A sensible middle size for what I need.

This umbrella makes me smile.

This umbrella makes me smile. I work in downtown Los Angeles, where rain isn't an everyday thing, but when it turns up I'm glad this is in my bag. Easy to carry along the busy sidewalks without feeling like I'm taking over the whole walkway. The blue looks lovely and people have commented on it. This is my second one, after losing the first. I'd happily buy the same again rather than go hunting for something different. Really pleased with both of them!!

Karl Hill

Would definitely suggest giving it a look.

I was looking for a umbrella that would keep me from getting drenched but wasn't quite the same as everything else. Found this one while wandering round the webz and it's been a happy choice. The whole thing feels well put together and that oval loop handle gives it a different look without being silly. There is a sleeve for putting it away too, which I appreciate when it's in my bag. It's no good having something unusual if it doesn't work, but this does both. Would definitely suggest giving it a look.

It's nice seeing her so happy with something useful too.

My wife noticed a similar umbrella in a movie and mentioned how much she liked it, so I took the hint and ordered her one. She was absolutely delighted. Whenever she takes it out somebody seems to ask about it. Her favorite part is having good cover over her head and shoulders, especially for keeping her hair dry between the car and work or the store. She can hold it comfortably and still see where she's walking. It's nice seeing her so happy with something useful too. I'd recommend it from how much she's enjoyed hers, though she says the comments from other people are becoming part of going out in the rain.

Worth considering if your hands are on the larger side.

I'd been carrying the same small umbrella for years and wanted more coverage without having to leave it out of my backpack. I spent a while comparing compact options before choosing this one. Several spring showers later, I think I picked well. Folded up, it takes less length in my bag than the old umbrella did, although it isn't particularly slim. At around 40cm long it's easy enough to pack, but think chunky drinks bottle rather than something that slips into a narrow gap. The canopy fabric seems neatly finished and the rain beads up nicely. A few shakes get most of the water off before I put it away. The ribs have a reassuring amount of flex, and it's been quite manageable on breezy walks. Both button actions have worked reliably, with no unexpected opening while it's in my bag. Closing gathers the canopy; you still push the telescoping section down yourself. If I could change one thing, it would be the grip space inside the oval handle. I like having a closed loop, but with my hand wrapped around it, I sometimes want a little more room to shift my fingers. Nothing painful, just less freedom than I'd ideally like. Worth considering if your hands are on the larger side. That hasn't spoiled it for me at all, and I'm pleased with the coverage and how easily it carries.

For what I paid this really is an excellent umbrella.

The shape was the main reason I picked this umbrella. I'm in a wheel chair and need the cover over me, not a lot of umbrella behind my head. Held a little forward it gives me good cover while seated. The flexible ribs look reassuring and the gray looks quite neat. It folds away without taking much space too. A small complaint would be the weight if I'm holding it for a while, but its manageable. For what I paid this really is an excellent umbrella.

For me this folding umbrella is a little champion.

For me this folding umbrella is a little champion. Simple to use and has handled the wind and rain I've taken it through. Brilliant! I keep one in the car, another in the truck and another by the front door, because being caught without an umbrella is something I'd rather avoid.

Chloe Reed

My kindergartners really like using this umbrella.

My kindergartners really like using this umbrella. It's not so wide that they take over the pavement. We've haven't run into any finger pinching or quality trouble. I help push the shaft down once they've closed the canopy with the button. Thought the plain design might be boring for them, but they're happy with it.

Gina Drake

A really nice little find.

First off, shopping in stores wears me out and eats up time. Then I usually don't even find what I'm after. This was just what I wanted and the price was right. I've had two umbrellas stolen already! Apparently other people liked them too. I'll be keeping a close eye on this one because I love the size, the simple operation, and how neatly it packs down. Cream White is lovely too, a bright spot on a wet day. A really nice little find.

Candace Rojas

Much nicer in person than I expected.

Much nicer in person than I expected. My 3 year old likes carrying it with me and helping with the cover. I work the button, but she still feels she's doing her bit herself. The teachers at her school thought it was lovely too. It's nice having something she wants to bring along when the weather is wet.

Kent Palmer

would recommend these for everyday rain.

i wasn't expecting this much cover from something that folds up. its the rainy season here in atlanta and i wanted a better umbrella than the cheap one i'd been using. bought four so i have one at the office and the rest in my cars. the sleeve is useful and the opening mechanism feels properly put together. i like how solid it feels when its open, not flimsy at all. would recommend these for everyday rain.

With rain added some umbrellas just become a nuisance.

Pittsburgh, downtown especially, gets wind coming at you from all sides. With rain added some umbrellas just become a nuisance. This one has been a much nicer companion on foot. The loop gives me a comfortable grip and the canopy keeps me covered. No wrestling match on the days I've used it, and it packs away neatly indoors

Isabel Riddle

I needed a replacement for my old umbrella, which didn't cope well…

I needed a replacement for my old umbrella, which didn't cope well with the wind on my walk to work. The route is along the waterfront in NYC / past the park / beside the highway, so the rain can blow straight at you. This one has felt steady to hold on those walks so far, and I haven't had to wrestle it back into shape!

Rodney Stark

the oval handle is easy for me to grip.

Five stars from me because my grand daughter was so pleased with this umbrella. She is 3 1/2 and couldn't wait to see it opened. we have had plenty of wet days lately so it will be handy when we go out together. It gives her plenty of cover with me holding it. Both my grand daughters always want to twirl umbrella's about, so I keep hold of this one.the oval handle is easy for me to grip.

Peter Kidd

I love this umbrella.

Sun and me do not get along. I live in Los Angeles and even with sunblock I can end up feeling faint and getting freckles and burned...so carrying some shade makes sense to me. I love this umbrella. It gives me shade and feels substantial, and I can use it in rain too. My last umbrella was taken by airport security coming back from the Dominican Republic because of the metal in it! Not making that carry-on mistake again. Very glad to have an umbrella again.

Eduardo Sawyer

The canopy gives me a decent amount of room and the button is handy.

I normally spend next to nothing on umbrellas, but decided a reasonably presentable man ought to have one that doesn't look like an afterthought. Chose the gray and I'm glad I did. It looks smart without trying too hard, and there is a much more substantial feel to it than the little emergency ones I used to pick up. The canopy gives me a decent amount of room and the button is handy. I wasn't sure about the oval handle at first - not exactly the traditional gentleman look - but it is actually easy to carry. If I could change anything I'd make the plastic around the button look a little less plain. That's just me being fussy about appearances, not anything that gets in the way of using it. Still an excellent purchase and one I'm happy to be seen carrying.

Cory Fisher

Black is my favorite colour too, which helped me choose this one.

I walk to work and back every day, so I wanted an umbrella that wouldn't be a nuisance as soon as the wind picked up. Black is my favorite colour too, which helped me choose this one. The canopy gives my shoulders and work clothes good cover without being an enormous umbrella. It isn't the smallest thing in my bag, and some days carrying anything extra feels like a chore. But when it's raining and people around me are wrestling with their umbrellas, I'm glad I brought mine. So far it's stayed steady and kept me dry on those walks, which is really what I bought it for.

Caitlyn Mcmillan

The oval loop makes a handy carrying grip.

The umbrella turned up intact and seemed a fairly substantial little article once out of its packaging. There is enough weight to it to feel properly made, without its being a chore to take along. Mine is pink on top, with a black underside that I hadn't particularly noticed before ordering. The frame has a great many flexible ribs, and the fabric sits reasonably taut when opened. Across the open canopy it is roughly 105 cm, which has proved quite sufficient for me, though it folds into a much smaller package than my old oversize umbrella. I would expect it to last well with reasonable care. Button operation is quite positive: one press opens it, another collapses the canopy. The remaining job is to compress the telescoping stem by hand, then put it into the sleeve. The oval loop makes a handy carrying grip. We have had a succession of July days around the hundred degree mark, and my regular walk of a few miles down the county roads to the post office had begun to feel rather punishing. Getting there was tolerable; coming back with the sun overhead was another matter. I had tried taking my old rain umbrella and found the patch of shade more useful than I had expected. Warm air is still warm air, and there is no changing what comes up off the road, but keeping direct sunshine off one's head makes a considerable difference. No elaborate explanation needed, really, just less sun landing on you while you walk. This one serves that purpose very well. It doesn't turn a hot afternoon into a cool one, but carrying a small movable patch of shade is a decided improvement over arriving home thoroughly cooked. It has also been quite satisfactory in ordinary rain, so I don't need to reserve it for sunny weather. Very happy with it. The horses remain suspicious.

Belinda Buchanan

I'll come back to this if anything changes.

Looks promising, although I haven't had a proper downpour to try it in yet.I'll come back to this if anything changes. The frame seems strong and it doesn't feel overly heavy once it's open. Folded up it is still too long for the little bag I normally carry, so it won't be coming everywhere with me. More for days when rain is actually forecast rather than just a possibility. We shall see!

Clifford Klein

A very good everyday umbrella.

One of the most useful umbrellas I've had, and this is now my third. Folded, it's a little longer than I'd ideally choose, but the coverage makes that worthwhile for me. My old umbrella gave me years of service, so I tend to stick with a style that feels substantial rather than chasing the smallest possible size. This one has been straightforward to use and feels reassuring in the hand. I also keep a second one in the car so I'm not caught without. A very good everyday umbrella.

Karen Kelly

Easy to carry and not much weight in my bag.

Easy to carry and not much weight in my bag. I can take it along even on a fine day without it getting in the way, then have it ready if the rain comes. The button opening is straightforward once you've tried it. Haven't had a proper rainy outing with it yet, so that's still to come.

Traci Pacheco

For what it cost, I wasn't expecting it to feel quite this nice.

For what it cost, I wasn't expecting it to feel quite this nice. It looks cute in beige and the whole thing feels more substantial than the price suggested. Open, there's enough space to shelter me with my bag tucked in alongside, which was the main thing I needed. I hold it high enough to watch where I'm going rather than peering around the edge all the time. It folds down afterwards, so carrying it indoors isn't a great long-umbrella juggling act. Nothing complicated about it, just a very useful umbrella and money well spent.

Rick Meyer

Everything was as described and it arrived when expected, so no…

Everything was as described and it arrived when expected, so no complaints there! To pack it away, press the button to close the canopy, compress the shaft by hand, then arrange the fabric into tidy folds! Getting it neat takes me a little patience, but as an umbrella for shade it's just what I wanted.

Brittney Tate

All good so far.

An umbrella staying in one piece shouldn't seem exciting, but after using this on windy days I'm impressed. All good so far. The black is simple and smart, which cheers me up a little in miserable weather. It's larger folded than my previous one, but I can still get it into my purse, so that's fine.

Elaine Conway

The umbrella arrived in a surprisingly roomy package.

The umbrella arrived in a surprisingly roomy package. It feels sturdy and I absolutely love the beige colour. I didn't want a big dome shape, just something with decent coverage that would fold down. There's room for my bag under it, or another person if we squeeze together. The automatic opening is a particularly welcome feature when I've already got things in my hands.

Marie Young

The oval handle gives me a decent grip too.

Took this out in the rain the other day when the wind was getting up and it felt reassuringly solid. There was a tug on it now and then but I never felt like it was getting away from me. The oval handle gives me a decent grip too. The handle and tip do mark up easily, so take a little care, otherwise it's a great umbrella and I'd recommend it.

Jeremiah Smith

A useful choice for walks, whether for rain or a little shade.

Five stars because it matches what I expected from the description. Have had it out in rain and breezy weather and it has done its job well. The frame feels strong without making it awkward to carry, and the coverage is comfortable for me. Two of us can share if we stand close, though it's not a giant umbrella. Better than I expected overall. A useful choice for walks, whether for rain or a little shade.

Holly Collier

It arrived safely and looked even nicer than I expected.

I picked this out for my best friend who loves cute things. It arrived safely and looked even nicer than I expected. Really sweet looking for a wet day. I wouldn't want to try it in very strong winds, but for regular rain it's lovely. Even sitting there it makes me smile a bit. My friend was delighted with it.

A folding umbrella supplied with its own sleeve.

A folding umbrella supplied with its own sleeve. There is enough room underneath for one person without having to hunch up. The automatic opening extends the pole and spreads the canopy when the button is pressed. Press it again and the fabric folds in, while the pole stays extended. That part needs to be compressed by hand before it can go away in the sleeve. The shaft feels solid and the many ribs underneath have some give to them. Nothing feels too delicate when handling it. The handle is an oval closed loop rather than the tiny knob you often get on compact umbrellas, and I find it comfortable to hold. I can reach the button easily as well.It has a tidy appearance overall, not just a practical thing to carry. For the price I think it is a very good umbrella.

Robin Andrews

It won't shelter the whole street!

It won't shelter the whole street! For one person though, there's a decent amount of cover, and it folds down to a sensible size. But seriously, I'm impressed, just three NOTES:Don't expect it to disappear into a tiny pocket, compact isn't microscopic. The closed loop doesn't slip over a door knob the way a hook would.when it's been out in the rain I let it dry open, folding it away wet is still folding away a wet umbrella.Hope that's useful.OH and remember to keep a proper grip when the breeze catches it, it isn't going to hold itself for you.

Isaac Roach

Very happy to recommend this one!

I'd been looking for a green umbrella and nearly chose another one, until I saw the total price. Well. Not for me. A little more looking brought me to this and the value made much more sense! It looked nice online, but it's even better in person. Such a lovely green, and a generous canopy when you put it up. The opening action is smooth, no wrestling with it. Very happy to recommend this one!

Danny Webb

This is easy enough once understood.

The [button operation] is [very good], for both the [opening] and the [canopy closing]. The [movement] has quite a [strong feeling], and the umbrella spreads out [straight away]. There are [30 flexible ribs] in the [frame], which gives an impression of [firmness] without being a huge umbrella. The outside is [green], with a [black underside], a combination that looks [neat]. 【For use】by men also. One point, the fabric feels rather thin when held between fingers, so I was a little concerned about how it would wear. This is an impression, not a problem I have found. After the canopy is [closed] by the button, the [shaft] must be [pushed back] with the hand. This is easy enough once understood. Folded length is about [40 centimeters], and the [loop handle] makes it comfortable to carry. For this [price], the [quick operation] and [solid frame] feel like [good value]. I am [pleased] with the purchase and can [recommend] it.

Devon Callahan

Seems a fairly substantial umbrella.

Pressing the button draws the canopy shut, not the telescoping pole. That part needs pushing down manually. Opening and collapsing are both fast. The coverage is useful when rain is slanting and I have to hold it at an angle. Seems a fairly substantial umbrella.

Nichole Choi

This could certainly shelter me from rain....

This could certainly shelter me from rain.... but it seems too pretty to use only for that. I use mine for photography in the dance studio. It feels sturdy and properly made, and looks beautiful in our pictures. More than a practical umbrella to me, it is part of the photographs.

Monica Everett

Back for a second one because I liked the first so much.

Back for a second one because I liked the first so much. It has felt reassuringly sturdy on windy days and hasn't turned inside out on me. The reason for replacing the last one had nothing to do with rain or wind. I'd still choose this umbrella over trying something different.

Kristin Hammond

My medication means I try not to stay in direct sun too much.

I keep this umbrella handy while cutting grass on the tractor during those hot summer days. When I stop for a break I can hold it over me for some shade. My medication means I try not to stay in direct sun too much. It makes those pauses much more comfortable, and the blue looks nice as well.

Shelby Hooper

This lives in the car for those surprise showers.

This lives in the car for those surprise showers. The folded umbrella goes neatly into the door's map compartment. Pressing the button and seeing it spring open is oddly satisfying (instant shelter!) It's been there for a couple of years now, still looking tidy and working just as it should.

Angie Acosta

Might get another to have handy.

We have four indoor "cat~children" & a deck that gets full sun. The underneath is enclosed, but their little grass patch is on top. We made it out of one of those plastic turtle sand boxes for children. They love it! One of our "kids" is very pale and I worry about too much sun on the top of his head. This umbrella lets me sit beside the box holding shade over them while they nibble their grass. Such a simple thing but perrfect for our little visits outside! It folds away when we're done, so I'm not leaving it on the deck in bad weather. For what we needed, I couldn't be more pleased. Might get another to have handy. OUR GRASS TIME IS SO MUCH NICER!!! THE CATS AND I ARE DELIGHTED!!!

Nathan Luna

The price seems fair for the quality.

An excellent umbrella with some genuinely practical touches: flexible ribs, a carabiner handle that clips onto things, and button-operated opening and closing of the canopy. It folds into a tidy shape for carrying, but feels reassuringly solid in use. The price seems fair for the quality. Mine also turned up quickly and in very good condition.

Cameron Solomon

All working fine, just not quite as effortless as I expected...

I like having one button for the opening and for closing the canopy, but hadn't realised the shaft still needs pushing back down by hand. Thought I was doing it wrong at first, then understood that's how it works. All working fine, just not quite as effortless as I expected...

Carla Roberson

Opening it with the handle button is easy enough.

Do you carry an umbrella because it is raining already, or because it might rain sometime during the day? For me it is usually the second, which makes carrying it conveniently quite important. This one feels reasonably light, but the roughly 40cm folded length is more than will sit across the bottom of my usual bags. Standing it on end is an option, although then I worry about it sliding out when I bend over. It isn't something I can just tuck away and forget about. There is a sleeve included, but getting the umbrella back inside it has been another matter. The opening is narrow, and since taking it out initially I haven't managed to wrap everything tightly enough to put it away in there again. Considering how long the folded umbrella is, I had pictured a little more coverage once it was up. The open width is around 105cm, so that is partly my own expectations rather than anything misleading, but the size when carried doesn't quite translate into the spread I imagined. Opening it with the handle button is easy enough. The button also draws the canopy closed, with the telescoping shaft then pushed back by hand. I do wonder about the long-term tradeoff with folding umbrellas generally. We want them to become a small package, then expect all those moving sections to make a solid shelter when extended. Perhaps that is asking rather a lot of something we also want to be lightweight. I can't really judge how this particular one will last just from opening and putting it away. The enclosed loop handle looks substantial, which hopefully is a point in its favour over time, but it takes up more room in my small hands than I would like. I haven't yet used it with rain and wind happening together, so I don't have a useful verdict on that side of its performance. I would want to add to this after that opportunity comes along. As it stands, the carrying length is the sticking point for me. It wouldn't be the umbrella I'd reach for first for everyday use or packing for a trip, simply because I have others that fit into my bags more conveniently.

Used this in the wind and rain on St.

Used this in the wind and rain on St. Patrick's day and it did just what I needed. The loop handle is my favorite part, I could clip it around a narrow bit on the back of my restaurant chair instead of leaving it on the floor. Having it fold down is handy too. Once open there was just about room for my girlfriend and me, provided we stayed close together. It's small put away but not tiny overhead, and it stayed in shape through the gusts that day!

Shari Abbott

Beautiful umbrella!

Beautiful umbrella! I picked it up during the summer and tried it for shade before we had any rain. I took it along to a summer festival and had several people ask where it came from. It looked lovely in the sunshine, and the cream white should be just as nice on a dull rainy day. The opening action works smoothly and the frame seems sturdy. One downside: pressing the button closes the canopy, but the shaft needs pushing back in by hand. That last bit takes more effort than I'd ideally like, especially when I want to pack it away quickly. A little practice has made it less awkward, so it's not putting me off using it. Just worth knowing that the button doesn't do that final push for you. I'd have preferred a slightly easier finish to closing it. Overall, I love how it looks and have already enjoyed using it for shade. Still waiting to give it a proper outing in the rain...

Frances Calhoun

For what I paid, I reckon it was a sensible buy.

I don't know a great deal about umbrellas, but this seems a step up from the flimsy stuff I kept finding in shops. The frame feels substantial and the whole thing looks fairly smart. Haven't been out with it in serious wind, so I'm not going to pretend it's indestructible. I've managed to ruin enough umbrellas to be realistic about that. It's a plain, respectable style, which suits me better than something fussy. Nothing about it looks like I've grabbed somebody else's umbrella on the way out. The oval handle isn't the usual curved sort, but it sits nicely in my hand and can hang on a peg by the door. For what I paid, I reckon it was a sensible buy.

Ricky Browning

Feels sturdy and opens to a good size.

Picked this for my wedding as a rain backup, and the green is just the shade I wanted. It looks very close to the photo! Feels sturdy and opens to a good size. I'm hoping the weather stays dry on the day, but I may have it in some pictures anyway because it's so pretty.

Krista Wagner

Nice to find something useful for the sun as well as rain!

For the sunny walk to the campus shuttle, this has been a welcome bit of shade. The heat here in Tucson makes that walk feel longer than it is. Have had it about two weeks now and am happy with it, though I would leave it packed away on the really windy days. Someone crossing campus had one too and we ended up comparing notes. Nice to find something useful for the sun as well as rain!

Chelsea Hardin

An excellent umbrella.

An excellent umbrella. The push-button action is quick, both opening it and drawing the canopy closed, and the whole thing feels solid. Water shakes off nicely before I go inside, better than with the umbrellas I had before. Living somewhere tropical means rain is hardly a rare event, with some very rough weather each month. I've had mine for eight months, using it for the everyday downpours, and it still looks fresh and works beautifully!
