I have to say it turned out nicely. Strong feeling umbrella and just what I thought I was getting. What surprised me most was how soon it reached me here in Brazil. Only five days for an overseas purchase. Pretty impressive, and I'm happy with the whole thing.

Do yourself a favour and take some shade along!
I wrote about this when I'd only had it a week, which was probably a bit soon. A couple of years on I can say it gets used almost EVERYDAY in the Florida sun...and I still LOVE this little brellie! The handle isn't quite as comfortable after carrying it for ages, but honestly that doesn't stop me reaching for it. Having shade right there when I need it is wonderful. It has dealt with the usual rain and breezy days too (yes---Florida again) and all those hot afternoons (---so many of them). Not the cheapest brellie I've owned, but it's earned its place. Less squinting, less sun in my face. Do yourself a favour and take some shade along!

WOW, I am seriously IMPRESSED with this brolley.
WOW, I am seriously IMPRESSED with this brolley. Here in Saudi Arabia it is HOT and the sunshine is relentless! I've used it for shade and it gives a welcome break from the glare. Feels solid in the hand, including when a breeze picks up. I'm hoping for a long life from it. Normally I'm difficult to please but I would CERTAINLY recommend this one.

We've had a few ordinary showers so far (dry enough for me).
Just the right amount of cover for getting around town without carrying something huge. It folds down into its sleeve when I'm not using it. We've had a few ordinary showers so far (dry enough for me). Haven't had the chance to find out what it's like on one of those properly windy wet days.
Jon Torres
Not a fault, just the way it works.
The shape works well for walking along a busy pavement, I don't feel as though I'm constantly catching people beside me. Keeps me dry and feels nicely made too. What I had hoped for was a button that did the whole closing job. It shuts the canopy, but you still push the telescoping shaft down by hand to reset it. Not a fault, just the way it works. That last step being automatic would make it even better -- otherwise I'm very happy with the umbrella.

Apparently carrying an Umbrella is the best way of cancelling rain.
Apparently carrying an Umbrella is the best way of cancelling rain. Leave it at home, though, and the clouds seem to notice immediately. Joking aside, I like having a decent amount of cover without hauling a huge stick around. Two of us can squeeze under if we stay close, which beats letting the other person get soaked! It's felt steady on windy walks, even when I needed a proper grip on the handle. Nothing has given me cause to complain so far. Useful, solid and smart enough to carry anywhere!
Herbert Miranda
I wasn't looking for anything more complicated than that.
It has the reassuring feel I wanted, and more importantly it keeps the rain off. I wasn't looking for anything more complicated than that. The blue gives it a little colour without making a spectacle of itself. Once it's raining, I doubt anyone is examining the finer points of the thing anyway.
Kathy Barrett
Well worth spending a little extra.
Well worth spending a little extra. I tend to get through umbrellas quickly, but this one still feels solid after use in the wind here in upstate New York. The button opening and canopy closing are particularly handy. More than my usual umbrella budget, yes, but I'm very glad I stretched it.
Suzanne Lambert
You notice the weight compared with a tiny folding umbrella.
You notice the weight compared with a tiny folding umbrella. I certainly do. If that doesn't bother you, it's a very good one. I bought one for my daughter, who gets far more rain in Washington than I do here in the southwest, and she uses it all the time. This purchase was her replacement after someone took the first one. She was so upset about losing it. That says more about how much she liked it than I can.
Janet Shannon
She's 3 1/2 and wanted to hold it straight away.
I gave five stars as my grand daughter was so excited about having her own umbrella. She's 3 1/2 and wanted to hold it straight away. we have had lots of wet days so it should be useful. I do the button part for her and she holds onto the loop easily. Both my grand daughters like twirling their umbrella's, which means I have to watch them.it's a manageable size and not one of those enormous umbrellas that gets in everybody's way.
Shari Newton
Happy to reccommend this to other people.
Good coverage when I'm carrying a child, enough to keep our heads dry together. The button helps when one hand is busy. I bought two umbrella's, one for myself and one for my daughter, and we're both pleased with them. Happy to reccommend this to other people.

It does cover the folded umbrella properly once that's done.
There's a fairly solid feel to this umbrella when you have it in your hand. The closed oval handle is comfortable enough to carry and the shaft doesn't feel flimsy when it's extended. Operating it is straightforward: the button puts the canopy up and brings it back together again, then you push the shaft down yourself to pack it away. Nothing particularly complicated about using it as an everyday umbrella. My main reservation is the handle shape, as I find myself adjusting where my fingers sit rather than just grabbing it anywhere. That is mainly me finding a comfortable position though, not anything moving about in the handle. I'd put it at four stars because once I've got a proper grip the whole thing feels secure, both when carrying it folded and holding it open. The carry sleeve is also a closer fit than I'd prefer. If the fabric isn't lying fairly neatly I have to stop and straighten it before putting the sleeve on, rather than just shoving the umbrella inside. It does cover the folded umbrella properly once that's done. At this point I hadn't actually been out in rain with it, so these were mostly observations from handling it indoors. *UPDATE* Have now used it through a short rainstorm and it did its job. A gust catching the canopy does give your hand a noticeable pull, so you still need to hold it properly rather than let it sit loosely in your fingers. The ribs kept their shape and everything packed away normally afterwards. I wouldn't call it immune to wind, since there is still a fair amount of canopy for the air to catch, but nothing came apart during that outing.
Parker Farmer
Definitely something I would recommend.
My two year old absolutely LOVES this one. It looks the way it did in the photo and there's plenty of room for her underneath. It feels well put together, not flimsy. I expect she'll get a good while out of it as she grows. Definitely something I would recommend.

It comes along on our daily walks with the baby now.
It comes along on our daily walks with the baby now. There is a little more weight than with my old umbrella, but having a button for opening and collapsing the top is worth that to me. I still push the stem in myself afterwards. Coverage is just right for me, and once I got used to closing it everything felt very straightforward.

I keep mine in the car for surprise showers, and it slips into the map slot in the door. Something very satisfying about pressing that button and having it spring open (Feeling very important!) A couple of years on, it still looks smart and works as well as ever.
Lindsay Mckenzie
Very good umbrella.
Very good umbrella. Weight about 390 grams. The construction feels good. Beige fabric, with black on the underside. Handle is an oval loop, comfortable in the hand. The ribs are interesting, thirty of them and flexible, quite a full arrangement. Operation - press once to open, press again to fold the canopy. The telescoping part then needs pressing down manually. A sleeve is included, so it can be put away together. Open size is generous for a folding umbrella - that is a plus.

Got this for my daughters boyfriend who walks to work in New York.
Got this for my daughters boyfriend who walks to work in New York. Wind and rain can make that walk miserable, but he says this umbrella has been doing really well. Apparently it's his favourite Christmas gift, which surprised me for an umbrella. He's even started calling it by a nickname.

Rain still comes at your legs.
I don't know why people expect their pants and shoes to stay completely dry under an umbrella. Rain still comes at your legs. That's just life unless you're staying indoors. This one is easily my favorite, and the rest of the family seem to agree because we're always trying to grab it first. I'll probably buy another two and settle that argument. My only gripe is needing to keep a firm hold when the wind catches it. It hasn't turned inside out on me so far, even when I've taken it out in some pretty unpleasant rain. Best umbrella I've had.

Initial thoughts: The button arrangement is very handy.
Initial thoughts: The button arrangement is very handy. One press opens it, another gathers the canopy, and then you push the shaft down yourself before putting it away. (Rolling it up and putting it in the sleeve is still down to me, of course. Nothing unusual there.) I appreciate how much less space this takes up once collapsed. The canopy gives a decent amount of cover and doesn't feel cumbersome overhead. My reservation is more about the handle. The closed oval loop is useful, but it has a rather practical look rather than the finish of a traditional wooden handle. Nothing wrong with how it works, just not as elegant to my eye. I bought this after losing my previous full-length umbrella, and overall the change has suited me. It may not have that classic appearance, but being able to tuck it away instead of carrying a long umbrella everywhere is a worthwhile trade. For the price, I'm satisfied.
Dustin Sampson
It looks even nicer in person & she was THRILLED!
Mom wanted a compact umbrella for Christmas & she is not a plain, dull colours kind of person. This pink looked like her, so I took a chance, with the idea I'd keep it if she wasn't keen. It looks even nicer in person & she was THRILLED! She carried it around showing everyone that evening. Apparently I picked the right present this year.

For a windy place, I think this is a really good umbrella.
For a windy place, I think this is a really good umbrella. Out in the rain in new York, i saw other people trying to get their umbrellas back the right way round. Mine stayed in shape! Feels light but was strong enough for those gusts and kept me dry. Only thing is it looks different to the usual umbrellas, so you might get a curious glance or a question from someone walking past. Otherwise, I'm really impressed with how it's designed!
Sheri Bradley
Great quality.
I've had quite a few compliments on this umbrella. Nice and plain, which suits me. Great quality. It has seen me through several spells of rain and blustery weather, which is what matters. Inside there's a lot of ribbing, with enough flexibility that it doesn't feel brittle. Not the tiniest folded umbrella, admittedly, but I like the substantial feel when it's up. Overall, I'm glad I went for it.
Briana Cannon
Easy enough to carry and reassuring when it's open.
Eight years ago I took this umbrella on a walking tour in Canada, and it earned its place in my bag through some thoroughly wet days. Since then it's been the one I reach for whenever it rains. Easy enough to carry and reassuring when it's open. It still cheers me up a little on a miserable morning. After all that use I have become quite attached to it, which probably sounds silly about an umbrella, but it's been such a dependable thing. Definitely money well spent for me.
Audrey Lindsey
An attractive umbrella, and I've had people ask me where it came from.
An attractive umbrella, and I've had people ask me where it came from. Before going to Paris last year I picked up several to give people afterwards as souvenirs. It weighs a little more in the hand than I'd like, but looks good and feels substantial. Buying them beforehand meant I didn't spend the trip hunting for presents instead of enjoying the museums. A useful thing for people to receive, and the price was very reasonable.

We chose Beige, a nice quiet colour.
Until I started looking for an umbrella, the push-button opening wasn't something I had thought about. Usually I'm trying to keep hold of several things when it starts raining, so not having to wrestle it open makes a difference. Folded up it looks fairly modest, but there's a useful amount of coverage once it's up, and it feels solid rather than flimsy.
My 10 year old wanted to know how big it actually was. Open it's around 105cm across, which makes more sense to me than trying to judge from a folded umbrella! Not a huge golf-sized one, but enough for what I need. I managed the trip from the minivan with the baby in the infant seat, diaper bag, purse and the canvas bag of awards in pouring rain. It was a bit of a juggling act, but I could keep the rain off me and the baby, which was the important part.
It's also felt reassuring in the windy weather I've used it in. I haven't had to fight with it constantly, and the oval handle has been comfortable for the longer stretches standing at rainy baseball games.
We chose Beige, a nice quiet colour. Very happy with it overall, and the sort of practical thing I'd consider for those relatives who are otherwise impossible to buy for.
Cassandra Zavala
He's taken it out on windy days and is happy with it.
Got this for my husband, who works downtown in Manhattan where the wind can be quite something. He's taken it out on windy days and is happy with it. It slips into his briefcase easily, although the canopy covers less than I'd pictured. He'd recommend it, just with that compact-umbrella limitation in mind.
Alex Small
Very pleased with how it's done so far.
Only had this out three times, so I can't speak for years of wear. One outing was pretty wet and gusty, and it came through without any trouble. Being tall, I still got rain on the lower part of my legs when it blew sideways, but the rest of me stayed dry. Very pleased with how it's done so far.

A smart looking umbrella, normal size once opened.
A smart looking umbrella, normal size once opened. The button works with a fairly loud snap. It folds the canopy too, although you still compress the shaft yourself to put it away. A little weightier than my usual folding umbrella. Finish seems good and there isn't any unpleasant smell. Overall, I'm very satisfied with it so far.
Joseph Goodman
looks brilliant!
looks brilliant! adds a bit of style when standing in the ride queues at the theme park. I'd hoped for something almost golf umbrella sized, though this gives perfectly decent everyday coverage. The sleeve is fine for putting it away, just don't expect the folded umbrella to disappear into a tiny bag.
Jocelyn Gonzalez
She was absolutely DELIGHTED with it.
Christmas shopping for my mother is never simple, she usually buys whatever she wants before anyone else can. Since she loves her dogs, an umbrella for taking them out seemed more useful than something purely decorative. She was absolutely DELIGHTED with it. For someone who is normally so difficult to find something for, this was a very successful gift!
Dennis Shaw
A practical umbrella at a fair price.
A practical umbrella at a fair price. Everything operates as it should. The oval handle is the only bit I wasn't sure of, since I normally prefer a plain straight grip. I thought it might be awkward to hold, but so far that hasn't been a problem. Other than that small doubt, I'm happy with it.
Kyle Bruce
Up to now I'm satisfied.
Only had it out two or three times so far, in fairly ordinary rain rather than anything wild. Up to now I'm satisfied. Nothing complicated about using it, It opens readily with the button and the canopy comes together again without any fuss. The frame feels solid to me, though a couple of outings isn't much of a test. I'll have a better idea after it's seen more weather, especially some wind. My first impression is that it ought to do well.
Caroline Henson
The sleeve is useful once everything is dry
Coverage is good, and the frame feels reassuringly firm without being completely rigid. The handle is an oval loop (rather than the usual hooked sort), which I find comfortable to hold. It is a little substantial for a compact umbrella (not something I'd put in a coat pocket), but that is an acceptable trade-off. The sleeve is useful once everything is dry; drying does take a while. After a year of use, mine still opens reliably and provides dependable protection in everyday rain.
Wendy Marquez
My girlfriend liked the plain look of this umbrella.
Sometimes I think they're trying too hard to improve things that were simple already. My girlfriend liked the plain look of this umbrella. And she was happy using it. It opens to a useful size and the finish looks good. Nothing complicated about it. Overall, a nice choice for someone who wants an umbrella that looks good and works properly.
Tim Schultz
I'm really really happy with it!
My old umbrella lasted years before a bent bit caught me in the head and it was time for a replacement. I walk to work, so something flimsy wouldn't do. Been using this for about two months now, including wet and gusty walks in New Jersey and New York. I've passed people battling with their umbrella's while mine has felt steady in my hand. It seems at least as solid as the old one... there's that reassuring feeling... I can just walk rather than worry about it. No umbrella is magic but this has done well in the weather I've had so far. Also love the pink top with the black underneath. It looks great. I'm really really happy with it!
Hannah Buchanan
The construction feels a good deal better than my last umbrella.
Looks to be a well built umbrella, though it hasn't actually seen rain yet (still waiting!). It has more heft to it than the one I've been carrying and opens out wider too. If you don't mind a little extra weight, which doesn't bother me, it seems a sensible choice. The construction feels a good deal better than my last umbrella. I'm judging by handling it indoors for now, but I'm looking forward to getting outside and giving it a proper rainy day try!
Cristian Moran
I also LOVE how neatly it packs away.
I've had a few of these umbrellas now and the quality has been excellent! It gets difficult to settle for a fiddly one after using that button. So happy!!!!! I also LOVE how neatly it packs away. My older teens and college kids like the simple look and can fit one into the bags they already carry.
Eduardo Ingram
Really love taking this one out!
Really love taking this one out! Its sturdy, light enough to carry and the pink looks great. I almost welcome a rainy day now. People notice it coming along the street, so I dont have quite so much awkward umbrella bumping to deal with. The colour looks a little less fresh, though I haven't been careful about drying it before putting it away. Still think its an excellent umbrella!
Erica Noble
The cream white looks good too.
It folds down, but there is still a fair amount of umbrella to carry. Not one I would squeeze into my glovebox, though much handier to take along than a full length one. Last week I got caught in a proper downpour and was grateful this was with me. The canopy covered me well and the frame felt solid, not something I had to fuss over while getting wet. The cream white looks good too.Only gripe is the folded size, I had pictured something a little smaller. Once I found a place for it that stopped bothering me. What matters is that it did the job in the rain and I was very glad not to be without it!
Eduardo Riley
I'd like another one.
After around three years of fairly heavy use, I'm still happy with how useful it's been. In gusty rain I need to pay attention to how I hold it, but for most weather it keeps me covered. The frame has a decent solid feel and the opening button remains handy. I'd like another one.The cost is my hesitation---I had a lower price in mind for replacing a compact umbrella. That's the reason for four stars rather than five, not because I've been unhappy using it.
Russell Copeland
The loop handle feels solid & the whole thing is comfortable to hold.
A plain, classic umbrella that actually feels well put together is what I wanted. I've wasted enough money on flimsy ones. The loop handle feels solid & the whole thing is comfortable to hold. For what I paid, I think I did well. If I lost it I'd be quite happy to buy the same again. The shipping box was bigger than it needed to be, a little silly really, but that doesn't take away from the umbrella; recommended!
Cassandra Fry
)so the coverage matters.
This opens out WIDE-- certainly enough to keep me well covered! Doesn't feel too burdensome either. An umbrella gets used most of the year here (yes, months and months of rain... )so the coverage matters. I wouldn't count on it for very strong winds, and it's not the smallest when folded. For everyday wet weather, though, I'm happy with it.
Karen Bradley
Opening is easy with the button
Had to replace an umbrella I'd used for two years after misplacing it. The construction on this feels very good, and it has held its shape in the wind I've encountered. You still get wet round the legs if the rain is coming sideways, so don't expect full length protection. It feels balanced in the hand, although a stronger gust takes a firmer grip. Folds down quite neatly.Opening is easy with the button; another press closes the canopy, and you shorten the shaft yourself. There's comfortable space for one person, not really two people trying to share. A well made umbrella that suits what I need, and worth the five stars.
Stacie Greene
Hopefully this will be with me for years.
Never expected to have a favourite umbrella, but I actually look forward to using this one. It feels solid, gives good coverage and is straightforward to put up and take down. The gray has a simple, classic look that I like on gloomy days. Hopefully this will be with me for years.
Tracie Serrano
I hadn't expected to have quite this much to write about an umbrella.
I hadn't expected to have quite this much to write about an umbrella. Normally, if it opens and I get home dry, that is about the end of my interest. Well, there are some useful differences here, and this has become one I actually like using. It is a practical choice if you want reasonable coverage without carrying a full-length umbrella.
First, folded down it is about 40cm long, so compact rather than tiny. The sleeve slides off without a struggle and is useful for keeping everything together between uses. A press of the button opens it, with no need to reach up underneath and push the canopy into place. Once spread out, it gives a surprisingly generous amount of cover. At roughly 105cm across there is room to keep my shoulders under it, and the weight, about 390g, is comfortable in my hand.
The framework deserves a mention too. There are 30 flexible ribs, and the canopy looks evenly supported rather than stretched over just a few points. I like the oval loop handle, which gives my fingers somewhere definite to sit. Nothing particularly glamorous, but it makes the umbrella pleasant to hold.
I had not used it in much wind initially, so I wasn't going to make grand claims on that score. For ordinary rain it has done exactly what I wanted. Closing is straightforward: press the button to draw the canopy shut, then push the shaft back down by hand. Once rolled neatly, it goes back into its sleeve without a wrestling match.
If your priority is the smallest possible umbrella, the folded length is worth noting. For me, the balance of coverage and manageable size is just right.
Update: It has now had an outing on a breezy, wet day. I still had to keep a proper grip, of course, but it was comfortable to manage and kept me dry. Still absolutely worth my five stars!

Picked this umbrella up and have found it pretty comfortable to use.
Picked this umbrella up and have found it pretty comfortable to use. It seemed lighter in my hand than I expected. My girlfriend is quite petite and she has managed it without finding the weight a problem. The automatic opening is handy, although it took me a little while to get used to closing it. The button collapses the canopy, then you push the telescopic part down yourself. Once I understood that it was straightforward. I've had it for nearly eight months now and haven't had any mechanical trouble with it.There are two things that stop it being a five star umbrella for me.First, it folds down reasonably small but still takes up more room in my bag than I had pictured. Not a big issue, just something to bear in mind if you want one to carry everywhere. Second, getting it into the sleeve needs a little patience. I have to wrap the fabric quite neatly rather than just gather it up and shove it in. It fits, but isn't something I do in a hurry. Otherwise I think it is a good umbrella and I'm not sorry I chose it. I'd check how much space you've got for carrying it before deciding. For me, having something comfortable to hold and easy to open is worth being a little more careful when putting it away.
Don Anderson
Happy to recommend it.
Folds down neatly and is quite straightforward to use. There's a sleeve to keep it together in my backpack, though I let the umbrella dry before putting it in there. The loop handle is a different feel from the long handles I'm used to, which might not suit everybody, but it works for me. Handy size for the bag. Happy to recommend it.

When I found this one I was so happy.
I've always wanted an umbrella that I enjoyed looking at, not just something to get out in the rain. When I found this one I was so happy. Now I keep admiring it when I should just be using it and I don't complain. The product is very good, looks are not everything. It opens to a comfortable size and feels well made. My friends at the office have all said how nice it is and I've had admiring looks in the street too. I have another Haven umbrella and I can say with confidence the price was worth to pay.

Seems sturdy and good value.
My daughter absolutely loves having this umbrella--and I'm pretty happy with it myself. Seems sturdy and good value. She finds the button easy to work, so getting it up when rain starts isn't a struggle. The grip suits her nicely too. It's been a very useful umbrella for her and I would have no hesitation about buying the same one again.
Rickey Velasquez
It's a sensible balance of coverage and something I'll actually carry.
For me, an umbrella needs to be useful first, not just something that disappears in a bag. This one folds down but still feels like a proper umbrella when it's up. The canopy fabric feels decent, the ribs don't look spindly, and the oval handle gives me something comfortable to hold onto. I don't have to fuss about getting it open either, just press the button. The coverage is good for my head and shoulders, rather than that feeling of huddling underneath a tiny scrap of fabric. It isn't a giant umbrella you can shelter a whole group under, and that's fine by me. It's a sensible balance of coverage and something I'll actually carry. Heck, if I can stay dry without hauling a long umbrella everywhere, I'm happy!
