I carry enough work equipment on the train and subway that I try not to add anything bulky. That was the reason for choosing a folding umbrella rather than a long one. This is about 390 grams, which I can manage alongside everything else, and it fits in my work bag. Opened up, it looks like a proper umbrella, not one of those tiny emergency ones. I've already shown it to people because the change in size is quite impressive. Haven't actually USED it in rain yet, so I can't say how it will handle that -- I'm not expecting it to conquer a storm anyway. Blue is a lovely color too, but being able to carry it comfortably is what matters most to me.

I would recommend this one ☔ .

Really pleased with this umbrella i needed one with autumn rain coming and for the price i would buy another. Build feels good the button works for opening and gathering the canopy which is different from my old one, then the stem needs pushing in to pack it away. It arrived by courier and was all fine on arrival, now just hoping the mechanism lasts well. I would recommend this one ☔ .

I'd happily recommend it.

After my boyfriend came back completely wet from a rainy round of golf, I decided an umbrella would make a useful gift. It cost more than I'd planned to spend, but he was delighted with it. The beige looks smart without being flashy, and the whole thing makes a good impression when you handle it. He likes being able to carry it folded rather than hauling a long umbrella everywhere. Open, it gives him decent cover, and the button saves some fumbling when the rain starts. We've also used it for shade while watching little league games and at other outdoor events. That has been a nice extra use beyond the original golf idea. It's easy enough to take along that it gets used, which matters more to me than an enormous canopy left at home. I'd happily recommend it.

A solid feeling umbrella that packs away neatly and has kept me dry.

A solid feeling umbrella that packs away neatly and has kept me dry. I'm happy with it overall. The description made me expect a little more room once it was up, although the canopy is decent for something that folds down this small. There's enough space for me, just not really enough for two of us huddling underneath at the bus stop. I wouldn't choose it as a shared umbrella-- it's much better suited to one person. For everyday use on my own, though, it's handy.

Misty Rhodes

A very good umbrella, and I am satisfied with the quality.

I looked over the ribs and their connections when it arrived, as that was the part I was most concerned about. Everything seemed properly put together. Since then it has been out in quite a thunderstorm and did exactly what I needed. A very good umbrella, and I am satisfied with the quality.

Nichole Lowe

Folded up it's short, though a little on the chunky side.

Folded up it's short, though a little on the chunky side. Not featherweight, but comfortable enough that I actually wanna take it along. Haven't put it through really rough wind, so can't speak for that. The ribs and everything feel solid, and overall I'm very happy with it.

Zachary Owens

Looking at the blue for another friend now.

Bought a pair, one to keep and one for a friend, and we are both so pleased with ours. Looking at the blue for another friend now. They are lovely umbrellas, only I wish the folded length was a little less so mine would go in my bag, I am forever leaving umbrellas behind.

Jill Villarreal

The black looks really smart to me.

The black looks really smart to me. A press of the button gets it open and the coverage is much better than the little folding ones I've tried before. Once put away it fits in my tote without taking over the whole thing. Normally I go for a long umbrella because compact ones can feel so insubstantial, but this has a reassuring feel when I'm holding it. There is actually enough canopy to be useful in the rain. I'm glad I chose it, and it didn't take long to arrive either.

Came earlier than I expected, the beige is a nice colour, opens without much effort and the fabric looks strong, it gives good cover without being too heavy, a little larger folded than I imagined but still useful, I like that the ribs have some give rather than feeling rigid when the breeze catches it.

Cathy Wiggins

The size is sensible and the push-button action is useful.

The size is sensible and the push-button action is useful. Why keep throwing a few dollars at flimsy umbrellas and replacing them? The carabiner loop lets you clip the folded umbrella to a belt loop, leaving your hands free when you haven't a bag along. Be ready for rain OR take whatever comes, but at least you've got a choice.

Jesse Cisneros

Lovely umbrella.

Lovely umbrella. The fabric feels good and it pops open without any fuss. Looks well made too.I picked this for my goddaughter's birthday and she was very pleased. Her mum thinks it is a good choice as well. A little heavier than I imagined, but it seems something she can keep using for a long time.

Betty Zhang

I've had this a few months now and no problems with it.

I've had this a few months now and no problems with it. It's a good size when open and a little weighty for carrying about all day. There is some give in the ribs and mine has coped well on wet, breezy days. Feels sturdier than the everyday folding umbrellas i have used before. On days when it might rain or might not, I don't always bother taking it because I notice the weight. When it's properly raining though, I'm glad to have it with me. A decent amount of cover and no fuss getting it open.

Jacob Powell

A dependable little umbrella.

A dependable little umbrella. It hasn't been out in much wind yet so I can't speak for that, but the frame seems strong.I've had it around six months and it is still looking tidy after standing at my son's soccer games and walking between appointments in town. The cover is good once it's up, although folded it takes more room in my bag than I expected.

Sonya Moran

Worth getting if you look after it.

My girlfriend needed an umbrella so I got her this beige one. It arrived quickly enough. There was a little powder on the fabric (perhaps so it doesn't stick), but it brushed away fine. She says the coverage is plenty for her, I hardly ever use umbrellas myself. Nothing to complain about with it so far. Someone at work has one too and she likes hers. Worth getting if you look after it.

Anna Pitts

Arrived today.

Arrived today. I was a bit worried seeing it poking out of the mailbox, the outer bag looked rather squashed..... No box around it, so I took it out straight away to check. Nothing looked hurt and the button sent it right up. Seems solid in the hand and there is a good amount of cover when it's open (Maybe my leather bags can finally avoid those rain marks....) Haven't had a wet day with it yet, but so far I'm happy with what I see. Hopefully this will be around for years. My only hesitation is putting it back into the sleeve. The folded fabric is a bit thick at the top, and it takes some arranging to slide it in neatly. Not sure I want to straighten every fold each time I come indoors. Still, looking forward to using it!

Brenda Collier

A practical umbrella and an attractive one too.

Had a chance to try it outside on a sunny, breezy day. It gives one person comfortable shade, and two medium sized people can stand close together underneath, although there's not a lot of spare room then. The frame flexed a bit with the breeze rather than feeling completely rigid. I could feel some pull on my hand but it was quite manageable while we walked. We never felt we were wrestling with it. The beige is a nice, simple look, not fussy or old fashioned.A practical umbrella and an attractive one too.

Stefanie Massey

Works as expected, which is all I needed.

Works as expected, which is all I needed. I chose this type to take the place of an old umbrella that had lasted me thirty years before finally wearing out. There's an umbrella tray beside the driver's door in my van, a very sensible place for one. This fits that space neatly, just as the old faithful one used to.

Cheryl Landry

The sleeve is handy for keeping it together when packed away.

I hesitated after reading a few less enthusiastic comments, but mine has been a really good choice so far. I took it to England and it handled the wet days nicely...a couple of people even asked about it. It takes up more space than my previous folding umbrella, true , though it still goes in my small backpack. The sleeve is handy for keeping it together when packed away. I make sure it's folded neatly before putting it in, rather than trying to cram it in anyhow. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a solid umbrella that can still be carried around easily.

Greg Rhodes

Good solid construction and I'm glad I got it.

Unless the rain is blowing sideways, I find this gives me enough cover without a raincoat. There is room for my son as well when I'm carrying him. I can walk comfortably rather than hunching under it, which makes a difference.Good solid construction and I'm glad I got it.

Joyce Frederick

I appreciate that it come with a sleeve.

I appreciate that it come with a sleeve. when i'm on the bus, a loose umbrella is another thing to keep track of, so being able to pack it away once dry is handy. i can keep it with my bag and not so easily leave it behind. the size suits carrying, though i'd prefer more coverage in really driving rain. there is a bit of a new smell, but hopefully some airing will get rid of that.

Erica Roman

A useful compact umbrella overall, and one he'd be happy to recommend.

My husband works in downtown Manhattan, so I gave him this for dealing with the wind and rain there. He has had it out on windy days and likes how it handles. It fits his briefcase nicely, which matters to him, although the cover is a little smaller than I'd pictured. A useful compact umbrella overall, and one he'd be happy to recommend.

Johnathan Stafford

A handy umbrella to tuck into my purse, not too heavy either!

A handy umbrella to tuck into my purse, not too heavy either! It feels sturdy in wind and hasn't turned itself inside out on me. The pink is useful as well as nice, I can spot mine straightaway amongst umbrellas by a restaurant door or when everyone leaves theirs at somebody's house.

Collin Frye

Didn't expect too much for the money, honestly.

Didn't expect too much for the money, honestly. They've turned out to be solid everyday umbrellas that everyone in the family reaches for, not just something for golf. One lives with my push golf cart, another stays near the back door when the dogs need taking out, and I leave another in the car so there's usually one where we need it.

Erik Keller

A sturdy umbrella for standing proud against the weather.

Let freedom ring, preferably without rain running down my neck. A sturdy umbrella for standing proud against the weather. Raise it with appropriate ceremony - coworkers might not understand your patriotic entrance, but that is their burden to carry. No tyrant gets a vote in my personal patch of shade. Dry shoulders, liberty, and a respectable amount of swagger.

Katie Gill

WHAT a good brolley, I am seriously IMPRESSED.

WHAT a good brolley, I am seriously IMPRESSED. Here in Saudi Arabia it is HOT and the sunshine can be relentless! This gives me welcome shade and has felt nicely secure when wind picks up. The frame seems strong for something that folds away. Hoping to get lots of use from it, I am not easily satisfied but would DEFINITELY recommend this one.

Arthur Morse

For the money it is very good, the umbrella gives a solid feeling.

For the money it is very good, the umbrella gives a solid feeling. I read that folding is difficult, for me the top folds with the button easily, then I press down the rod. A little weight yes, but I prefer this to something flimsy. I sit in a fairly big wheelchair, have not tried it with that yet, but for me being a tall girl the cover looks a useful size. Recommend it 💯. Thanks to the people who made it, wishing you good business.

Sandy Zimmerman

No lugging a long umbrella around all day!

My daughter needed something to shelter both herself and the things she carries for teaching, so I gave her this umbrella. It has worked out really well. She says it packs down small enough to leave in her teaching bag, which was important. No lugging a long umbrella around all day! She is delighted with it.

Brady Cantu

she was happy with the appearance and the way it opens.

A style minded female relative was the reason for this purchase. An umbrella is a practical thing, of course, everybody needs one sooner or later. but, it is nicer to give something that looks a little dressed up instead of purely useful. she was happy with the appearance and the way it opens. and, for the money, it made a thoughtful gift that will actually get taken out and used.

Devon Ochoa

I find the canopy smaller than I'd hoped.

I find the canopy smaller than I'd hoped. My last umbrella was bigger and I would still prefer that sort of coverage for a long wet walk. This one is much handier to carry though, so overall I do like it. The shaft looks a little thin to me. I have only had it out once, in some rain and a bit of wind, and it managed fine. I don't know that one outing tells me much about stronger winds. It is a sensible size for one person in ordinary rain, but I wouldn't choose it expecting to keep my lower half dry in a downpour. That probably isn't a fair expectation of a compact umbrella anyway. If a wider canopy matters more to you than packing it away easily, I would go for a larger umbrella. Just bear in mind you would be carrying more weight as well.

Mariah Oneill

I'd prefer a bit more curve to the canopy...

I'd prefer a bit more curve to the canopy...not sure of the proper term. It spreads out nicely but doesn't wrap around me, so rain coming sideways can still reach me. I want to feel tucked inside an umbrella rather than underneath a roof.It does its job otherwise. Smooth button action, goes in my backpack and doesn't look childish.

Derrick Benitez

The button makes this so convenient.

The button makes this so convenient. It's windy where I live, and the umbrella has felt reassuringly sturdy so far. Still in good shape after regular use too. People have actually complimented it, which isn't something I expected from carrying an umbrella! It gives a miserable rainy day a little lift as well as keeping me dry. Who would have thought such an ordinary purchase could cheer me up?!

Daryl Rhodes

For me the trade off makes sense.

Never thought I'd have this much of an opinion about an umbrella, but apparently I do. My previous compact one was lighter and perfectly decent when the rain behaved itself (which is not how I would describe rain coming across a city street sideways). It just didn't give me enough cover for the walk I actually do. Enter this one. There's a stretch of my daily walk where the wind seems determined to come at you from every direction. People sometimes lower their umbrellas and accept getting wet rather than keep fighting. My petty little heart enjoys being the one still walking along with mine up. Not saying I'd take it into absolutely anything, but it's handled my rainy commute very nicely. Two things I'd flag before choosing one: 1) The button action is brilliant around cars. Sit down with the umbrella held outside, press it and the canopy folds, rather than standing beside the door getting rained on while you wrestle with it. Shortening the telescoping section afterwards is still a manual push, separate from what the button does. 2) This isn't the featherweight option. It feels more substantial than my old one, so consider whether you want that or just the smallest possible thing to leave in your bag. The coverage is generous for a compact, not an enormous golf umbrella, and that distinction matters. For me the trade off makes sense. I'd rather arrive in my suit reasonably dry than save every possible gram. My girlfriend can tuck in beside me too, so long as we actually walk together instead of each trying to go our own way.

Nathaniel Hammond

We travel quite a bit and these umbrellas suit us well.

We travel quite a bit and these umbrellas suit us well. They aren't the cheapest, and you do notice the weight, However, they fold to a manageable size and feel reassuringly strong. They've coped with the windy days we've had on holiday without any trouble. I expect we'll get plenty of use out of them. For something that packs away neatly but still feels like a proper umbrella, I'm very pleased.

Stacie Gordon

My niece absolutely LOVES her umbrella!

My niece absolutely LOVES her umbrella! She takes it along even when there isn't a cloud about. It looks so pretty and the oval loop handle is a lovely detail, not just a plain straight handle. I was also impressed with the help I received when I contacted the seller. The response was friendly and helpful, and that matters to me. Between that and how much my niece enjoys it, this has been a wonderful buy. A+++++ from us! I'd happily come back for another one. THANK YOU

Bob Suarez

It lives in my computer bag.

It lives in my computer bag. I'm in sales and park well away from the mall entrances so customers can have the closer spaces. Handy to have when that walk to the clients gets wet. It's a compact umbrella rather than something for sharing, which suits me fine, and doesn't take up all the bag.

Cathy Erickson

Unless I lose it, I reckon I'll be sticking with this umbrella.

Unless I lose it, I reckon I'll be sticking with this umbrella. Great on city walks and busy streets, with proper cover overhead and not a huge thing to carry afterwards. Friends and coworkers have even been asking about getting a pink one! Stay dry AND tuck it away when you're done --- brilliant!

Edgar Aguirre

What a good umbrella this turned out to be!!!

What a good umbrella this turned out to be!!! The area where I work gets windy and I've been through quite a few flimsy ones. This feels so much more solid! One press and the canopy springs up!!! My office is two blocks from where I park, so being able to carry it easily matters to me. Folded up in its sleeve it's no bother to bring along when the forecast looks doubtful. It should also go in a roomy handbag. I like the oval handle, something easy to keep hold of. So far it has stayed in shape instead of turning itself inside out!!! I chose green and I'm delighted with the shade, just what I was hoping for. Practical but still nice to look at. I'd happily get a few more as presents for friends!!!

This Haven umbrella has a substantial frame and a neat finish.

This Haven umbrella has a substantial frame and a neat finish. The stated size is about 105cm open, with a folded length of roughly 40cm. Calling it 'compact' refers to folding it away; it isn't a tiny pocket model. That distinction is worth bearing in mind when comparing sizes. The construction looks sound, and I expect to keep using it for quite a while.

Sandy Haynes

That probably says more than any list of features could.

Spending proper money on an umbrella used to seem ridiculous to me, but I've changed my mind. The button that draws the canopy in is so useful that using one without it now feels like extra work. You do push the shaft in yourself afterwards, which soon becomes second nature. I lost my first one within a couple of weeks and was annoyed enough to buy the same thing again rather than settle for whatever was cheap. That probably says more than any list of features could. It looks lovely too -- the cream white is a nice change, and the sleeve keeps it neatly together in my bag. Not the cheapest umbrella I've owned, but easily one of the most useful things I carry.

Robert Moody

I'd say it's a good one to buy.

So far so good, although the wettest, windiest part of our year hasn't arrived yet. I might come back with an update after more use. Have taken it out in one heavy downpour and it did a good job, much better than some cheap umbrellas I've had. On that outing alone I have no complaints. I'd say it's a good one to buy.

Kaitlin Crosby

Here's hoping this one manages the same long innings as the old one!

The folding umbrella I had from college finally wore out after forty-five years. This replacement is more compact than my old one and has been working very nicely! It won't vanish into a small jacket pocket, but there's room in my everyday bag without having to move everything else. So it comes along more often, which is really the point of a folding umbrella. Here's hoping this one manages the same long innings as the old one!

Randall Farrell

Useful in rain as well, but the shade alone makes it worth having.

Having this umbrella makes bright sunny days much more comfortable for me. I'm very pale and don't enjoy standing in direct sun, so having some shade overhead is a big relief. It comes along with me all the time now! Useful in rain as well, but the shade alone makes it worth having.

Kendra Gilbert

I chose beige and it looks really nice in person.

I chose beige and it looks really nice in person. Of course there was hardly any rain for almost two weeks after it came!! So it sat in the sleeve until I finally had a reason to take it out. Opening is easy with the button, and when I'm done another press draws the canopy in. You still have to shorten the shaft yourself before putting it away, which is fine once you know. I've taken it out a few times now and had some lovely comments about it! I'm 4'10" and the open umbrella looks quite large over me, even though it's not awkward to carry folded. There's room for me without my shoulders poking out. Another short person can squeeze next to me, but somebody taller makes sharing much less practical...yes we had a go LoL

Kristopher Gibson

Seems like a good purchase at this price.

I'm no judge of umbrella engineering, but this feels better built than the flimsy crap I was seeing in local shops. Looks smarter as well. It hasn't faced a really windy day yet and I won't pretend I expect it to be indestructible. I've managed to ruin enough umbrellas to be realistic about that.Still, opened up it feels reassuringly solid. The styling is plain and respectable, not something that looks out of place with everyday clothes. The oval handle is closed rather than a hooked end, and sits well in my hand. Being able to clip it onto a bag is useful too. It's a sensible size for one person without carrying a huge stick around. Seems like a good purchase at this price.

Ebony Summers

There is a bit of weight to it, which I actually like.

I was after the most cover I could comfortably carry, and yes, found it [pause].It looks quite manageable folded, but opened there's proper room over my shoulders. Once the rain gets going that's what matters to me. There is a bit of weight to it, which I actually like. I'd recommend it to someone wanting decent coverage without a great long umbrella.

Mason Gomez

hey hey so this umbrella is actually GREAT it opens out a lot more…

hey hey so this umbrella is actually GREAT it opens out a lot more than you'd guess looking at it folded up ( enough for me and the camera I'm using )The button does the opening which is even easier than I expected and it doesn't feel like thin throwaway stuff to me at least. No funny drips getting through onto my hands which has been a problem with umbrellas I've had before( not what you want when filming )Now I can stand out making my nature videos when there's some rain and not spend the entire time worrying about the camera (:Feels like someone actually thought about using this thing, definitely worth what I paid

Cameron Andersen

We picked this up over the summer mainly for shade.

We picked this up over the summer mainly for shade. It is noticeably nicer standing under it than in the direct sun.Yesterday it finally got a proper try in the rain and kept us dry too. There is room to share if you stay close, without it feeling like a giant umbrella to carry. The frame and fabric both feel better made than I expected. Looking at the similarly priced umbrellas in shops, I think we chose well. Hopefully we'll get several years out of it.

Connor Cline

Nice coverage and no turning inside out in the breezes we've had.

My four year old grandson uses this on the walk between the car and preschool. I help him get it ready, and it has been really good for those wet little trips. Nice coverage and no turning inside out in the breezes we've had. Money well spent!! Glad I chose it!

Jeffrey Flynn

Need something dependable for rain?

Need something dependable for rain? This gets my vote! It has a good spread when open and feels solid right from the first press of the button. I've had umbrellas that seemed flimsy before they ever went outside, and this doesn't give me that feeling at all. The fabric sits nicely on the frame and the whole thing feels put together with some care, including the handle. Obviously I can't say how many years it'll last, but the first impression is excellent. If I could change anything I'd make it a touch smaller folded. Even so, it's the one I reach for when the weather looks doubtful. Great umbrella!

Savannah Snow

Feels solid.

1. Looks really nice2. Feels solid.3. The canopy keeps my shoulders & upper half dry, so I am not getting soaked as soon as I step out.4. A decent spread but not enormous - I'm 5'2 and slim and it doesn't look huge over me. Basically it is a sensible size for a woman like me.
