Otherwise it's an easy way to stay dry and still look presentable.
The beige canopy looks smart, and there is a useful amount of room underneath. I used to finish a downpour with one sleeve soaked because my old umbrella barely covered my shoulders, so a little extra coverage does make a difference! I should admit :P I've never set foot on a proper golf course, but this isn't an enormous golf umbrella anyway. That's a plus when I have to carry it. Opening is a quick button press, another press pulls the canopy together, and the telescoping part needs a manual push to shorten it. The ribs feel nicely supported without making the whole thing awkward. My one caution is to check the space around you before opening, people don't always notice an umbrella coming! Otherwise it's an easy way to stay dry and still look presentable.

Very good everyday umbrella - happy to recommend it.
Robust construction with a frame that has some flexibility rather than feeling brittle. The ribs look more substantial than the thin supports on umbrellas I've used before. Also, the button is placed where my thumb naturally rests, which makes opening it straightforward.Very good everyday umbrella - happy to recommend it.

Apparently my idea of a handbag umbrella is different, because…
Apparently my idea of a handbag umbrella is different, because this sticks out of every bag I normally use! It feels more substantial than the little travel ones I've had though, which is a fair compromise. No really blustery days to judge it on yet, but it seems a better bet for the coming summer rain than my flimsy old umbrellas.

A month in and I'm pleased!
A month in and I'm pleased! I wanted something less flimsy than the little umbrellas I kept picking up, especially for the windy days here. It's been out with me maybe five or six times, through wet snow and lighter showers. Haven't tried a real downpour yet, so I'm not pretending I know how it handles everything. It feels solid for a folding umbrella, though I wouldn't expect miracles when the weather gets wild. I used to have a bigger umbrella that was a gift and carried that thing everywhere for years, until I lost it. :-( Really missed that one. This is easier to tuck into my work bag, which is why I went for the smaller size this time. Hopefully keeping it in there will stop me leaving it somewhere. I may still end up with a larger umbrella as well, but this is the useful everyday one.

Already something I don't want to leave home without.
Living in Phoenix with fair skin makes the hot part of the year pretty miserable. I work downtown & use the light rail, and even the short walk to the station leaves me sweating (yes, that short walk!). I enjoy the journey in winter, not so much once the heat starts. I hesitated over paying this much for an umbrella just for shade, but I'm glad I stopped putting it off. Standing underneath it feels noticeably more comfortable than being directly in the sun. It doesn't make the heat disappear, of course, but that little patch of shade is a big relief. I've only had it a couple of weeks & it feels sturdy and well made. Already something I don't want to leave home without.

Durability is what remains to know.
I have used this kind of umbrella before and the convenience is why I tried again. It is useful beside the car, opening quickly and folding the canopy before I get inside. This one is working well, so I am recommending it. Durability is what remains to know. If durability is not good I will write another review, but if this review is left here then it is durable and I would recommend the product.

Good umbrella - I can recommend it.
A sturdy umbrella with a practical design. The flexible ribs support the canopy well, without that flimsy feeling I've had from some folding umbrellas. There is a little give in them, which I appreciate when it's breezy. Also, the handle button is comfortable and easy to press.Good umbrella - I can recommend it.

well, I think it's a very nice looking umbrella.
... well, I think it's a very nice looking umbrella. Nothing fancy, just a neat shape, and I was curious about that loop handle (it really does clip open). My four-year-old likes holding it with me, though I do the button part. It opens wide enough to give her a good bit of shelter without being a great long umbrella to lug around. I haven't owned it long enough to say how many years it will last-- it seems decent, but time will tell. She does tend to hold it too low and block her own view! For me, the appeal is having something practical that she actually enjoys taking out in the rain. Quite happy with what I paid.

Wasn't expecting quite so much umbrella when I opened the little…
Wasn't expecting quite so much umbrella when I opened the little bundle, but there we are. My daughter has been happily turning round underneath it for about ten minutes (she seems delighted). Everything feels much firmer than I'd expected from a folding umbrella. We'll have to see how it lasts, but as a first impression this is a very good one.

such a lovely pink!
such a lovely pink!it fits into my tote without taking up too much room, so i don't mind bringing it along!not sure it would give two people enough cover though, especially with rain coming in sideways..for just me it feels a good size and i think the price is fair!!!

Gets quite a few nice comments, and I enjoy using it.
Gets quite a few nice comments, and I enjoy using it. The canopy feels sturdy and the button mechanism works smoothly. Two little reservations though:The sleeve is a close fit, so I have to take a moment getting it back in rather than just dropping it away. The oval handle takes up more room than a plain narrow grip would. Neither thing stops it being a useful umbrella.
Madeline Wolf
I picked this up for my mom for Christmas.
I picked this up for my mom for Christmas. The frame and handle feel solid and the button action is very smooth. Closing the canopy is easy, then you push the shaft back down by hand. It goes into its sleeve without much fuss. We haven't had any wet weather to test it properly yet, but first impressions are good.

The quick opening makes a real difference.
More expensive than the basic umbrellas I've had, but money well spent. Here in Florida a sudden downpour can catch you while you're still wrestling with the catch on an umbrella. The quick opening makes a real difference. A second press collapses the canopy, and then you manually shorten the pole before packing it away. I've used mine almost daily for a couple of months, including some very wet, windy days, and it has worked properly every time. The frame feels substantial rather than flimsy, which gives me confidence when the weather changes halfway through being out. I still treat it like an umbrella rather than something indestructible, but for keeping me dry it has been excellent!

open width, folded length, weight, not only a nice picture.
An umbrella can look smart, but, what am I actually getting? I want the useful details, e.g. open width, folded length, weight, not only a nice picture. Here it's about 105cm across, 40cm packed down and roughly 390g, with 30 flexible ribs. THAT gives me something to judge! The button opens or collapses the canopy; the telescoping part needs a hand push afterward. Fair enough. I like that it gives proper coverage without becoming a golf umbrella to carry around. As a customer I think that is a better reason for calling something excellent than appearance alone. Talk about what the FEATURES do for the person using it ... that is useful information!
Kathleen Nielsen
It opens easily and the beige looks nice.
I wanted an umbrella I could leave in my purse, not something I have to think about fitting in there. The folded size is a little more than I had pictured, so it wasn't my ideal choice for that bag.I made some space and it fits now, and the umbrella itself has been perfectly fine in the rain.It opens easily and the beige looks nice.I'm still fussy about how much room an umbrella takes up, but the actual bag problem is sorted.
Patrick Orozco
honestly love this thing its properly sturdy.
honestly love this thing its properly sturdy. feels strong when its up and still looks good. the sleeve is a bit snug so i dont bother with it every time. but the umbrella itself is great. people ask about it and u end up talking umbrellas which is funny . had mine since last year and its still going fine. me and my lil bro arent exactly gentle with things either hahahha . not saying to mess about with it but its put up with us. i like that loop handle too. looks different without being silly. any way i would recommend it, really pleased with this one. hope i can keep hold of it pse

My wife is a fan of anything ELEGANT!!
My wife is a fan of anything ELEGANT!! and this umbrella certainly made her smile. She admired the finish & how solid the frame feels, and likes the simple canopy. It is a little weighty in her bag, but otherwise she loves it. She's even reluctant to get it wet, which rather defeats the point!!!!Thanks for a very smart umbrella, it went down a treat!!!Best wishes

A lovely automatic umbrella and an easy five stars from me!
I couldn't wait to try this umbrella when it arrived and took it straight out onto the driveway. The pink is so pretty and looks lovely with the whole canopy opened up. I pressed the button several times to try opening and closing it before I even took it anywhere. The canopy comes down with the button, then you push the shaft back in by hand. Once I'd done that a couple of times it was very easy. I put it away and had another try the next day, just as pleased with it then. Fortunately we've finally had some rain, so I have now used it a couple of times instead of just admiring it indoors. There is more room underneath than I expected from an umbrella that folds down. It covered me with my purse beside me, and the things I was carrying weren't sticking out getting soaked either. Also, that walk from the grocery store to the car was much nicer without trying to hurry along in the rain. I could keep myself and the bags covered while getting to the car. I was used to a big umbrella and wasn't quite sure about changing to a compact one. But I don't miss having that long thing to carry around afterwards. This folds away neatly without feeling tiny when it's actually open. The pink was definitely the right choice for me, it makes a rainy day a little less dreary. I'm glad I've had the chance to use it properly now. A lovely automatic umbrella and an easy five stars from me!

The umbrella was in good condition when it arrived.
The umbrella was in good condition when it arrived. The pink colour is pleasant and the inside is black, as expected. There is a fabric sleeve for keeping it stored, which is useful. It folds down to a manageable size and the quality feels good to me. I have been using it for shade in the sun and am satisfied with it for that purpose. I cannot comment yet on using it during rain or windy weather. I would recommend it.
Annette Kent
This is the sort of umbrella that suits me.
This is the sort of umbrella that suits me. It covers me well and feels solid enough for the windy rain we get around here. I used to have two similar folding umbrellas and managed to leave one somewhere, which was annoying because I liked it. So this is the replacement. It had been quite a while since I bought those earlier umbrella's, and I was wondering whether a new one would feel as good. So far this one does. I'm hoping that carries on with regular use, because I'd rather keep a good umbrella than have to look for another one.
Luis Dunn
It's a solid feeling umbrella and the plain black design suits me.
After reading some of the comments about folding umbrellas, I wanted to put in a word for this one. It's a solid feeling umbrella and the plain black design suits me. There are 30 flexible ribs supporting the canopy, which looks reassuring when it is open. The button sends it up and will also shut the canopy, BUT you still compress the telescoping stem yourself before putting it away. That is how this type works, not something wrong with it. What puzzles me most is the fuss over weight. At roughly 390g, it feels quite normal to me for an umbrella with this much cover. I've carried others that felt heavier and never thought much of it. Of course a tiny pocket umbrella will feel different. I just don't understand expecting something substantial to weigh nothing... Please keep those complaints in perspective!
Candice Newton
Nice to sit in its shade for a bit.
it arrived as expected and everything was packed nicely. such a good umbrella..!!! this is my second umbrella, the frist was a smaller one I could tuck in my purse. i wanted more cover for going down to the lake and this gives me that without being too awkward to carry. Nice to sit in its shade for a bit. still fancy a big beach umbrella sometime.

I got two for my granddaughters and they were both so excited.
I got two for my granddaughters and they were both so excited. They've spent ages putting them up and carrying them around. These are proper umbrellas, not play ones, and they feel nicely made. I worried a little about fingers near the folding bits, so I've been helping with that, and no pinches so far. Pretty enough for dressing up but useful for actual rain as well.
Sophia Griffith
This one feels much steadier in normal rain.
The blue is pretty and it does its job as well as looking smart. I've had other umbrellas that felt flimsy when the weather turned breezy here in Texas. This one feels much steadier in normal rain. I especially appreciate the loop handle, which clips onto my backpack instead of leaving me to carry it everywhere.
Traci Morse
I'd recommend spending the extra on this one.
I'd recommend spending the extra on this one. It feels properly made and the controls are straightforward. I was looking for something I wouldn't have to replace in a hurry, rather than just the cheapest umbrella. For me the extra money is justified. A neat looking design that would suit anyone.
Dave Simpson
Lovely for dressing up, and handy to have for a rainy day as well.
I picked up two for my granddaughters and they were both delighted. They've been opening them at every opportunity. The canopies and ribs feel well made, so these are proper umbrellas rather than toys. I was a bit nervous about small fingers around the mechanism, but so far nobody has been pinched. Lovely for dressing up, and handy to have for a rainy day as well.
Louis Valentine
I haven't taken it out in rain yet.
I haven't taken it out in rain yet. Wasn't sure how cream white would look in person but it is such a pretty colour :) I wanted something nice to take along with my golf bag, and this fits the bill. looks good without being showy and feels comfortable to hold. Easy to open and a good size when it's up

Ive read a few doubtful comments, but mine arrived fine.
Ive read a few doubtful comments, but mine arrived fine. It looks great and the handle feels fine to me, not awkward at all. Here in Costa Rica we get alot of rain, and on one walk a gust caught it enough to make the canopy move, but it settled straight back. I was quite impressed!! The oval handle gets noticed more than I expected, people ask about it when I'm carrying it folded. Funny what catches people's attention.
Danny Anderson
Not complaining, they're lovely umbrellas.
I had one of these already and loved using it, then managed to misplace it. Couldn't stop thinking about how handy it was, so I ordered another & naturally the first one turned up afterwards! Not complaining, they're lovely umbrellas. One can stay at home now and the other lives at work, so there's always a spare when I need it!
Riley Mclean
EXCELLENT umbrella.
EXCELLENT umbrella. Feels solid, handle sits well in my hand, and I trust it to keep me covered when the rain starts. It opens up to a useful size without needing a full length umbrella. The trade off is that it isn't one of those tiny things that disappears into a little handbag. It goes in my tote, but I know it's in there. Worth carrying for the cover it gives.Update three years on! Mine is still getting used. Came home through a terrific downpour tonight and was glad I had it rather than a little flimsy one. I don't get it out every day, so it hasn't had constant use, but it has lasted well. The only part I have to think about is putting it away. The button brings the canopy in, then I push the shaft down myself before packing it up. That's how it works, nothing has failed. A small extra step for an umbrella I'm still happy to use.
Vanessa Berry
Just something to bear in mind if wind is your main concern.
A solid feeling umbrella, and the handle is nicer to hold than I expected. It isn't huge, but once it's open the wind can still catch it and tug at your hand. I wouldn't expect to stroll along holding it loosely on a blustery day. So far it has coped without any damage, and feels sturdier than the cheap ones I've used. Just something to bear in mind if wind is your main concern.
Sheena Hardin
I wish carrying one for shade was more usual again.
Such a lovely umbrella, and people often remark on it when I take it out. It feels like a nice finishing touch to what I am wearing. I wish carrying one for shade was more usual again. Since recovering from melanoma I am careful about direct sun. This gives me welcome shade alongside my other precautions, and makes being outdoors more comfortable.
Samantha Velazquez
this umbrella feels tough!
this umbrella feels tough! packs down to about 40cm so its easy enough to carry about. the automatic action is brilliant getting on and off buses. one press shuts the canopy, with the shaft pushed down by hand afterwards. so much easier than wrestling with wet fabric at the door. seems worth what i paid, and i've already ordered a second one!
Jeanne Lawrence
These umbrellas have done well for us.
These umbrellas have done well for us. We've had a few in cream white, and the main reason for replacing one has been leaving it behind somewhere. Our son has been fascinated with them since he was little, and at seven he still wants to carry one. They have had plenty of kid handling and the one we use still opens and works properly. It's nice to have an umbrella that lasts rather than something you dread unfolding. I'd happily buy the same again!
Ellen Lamb
I absolutely LOVE this umbrella!
I absolutely LOVE this umbrella! My first was stolen and I was so glad to have another! I've tried plenty of umbrella's, but this is the one I want with me. It has stayed steady in rain and wind, and there's space for a child to tuck beside me too! AND it packs away neatly afterwards! Such a GREAT purchase! :)
Mario Chambers
Absolutely love having a compact one too!
I already have a longer umbrella and bought this one for taking along when travelling. It looks really smart and feels sturdy rather than flimsy. It has kept me dry with no trouble from the canopy turning over. Even had people comment on how nice it looks. Absolutely love having a compact one too!

First umbrella I've tried from Haven and I'm really pleased with it.
First umbrella I've tried from Haven and I'm really pleased with it. The build feels solid and I'm hoping to get plenty of use from it. Pressing the button opens it smoothly, and another press folds the canopy. You still have to push the telescoping stem in yourself, which takes a fairly firm push when I'm trying to get indoors quickly. At about 40cm folded it's a reasonable size to carry, although arranging all the fabric neatly before fastening it takes me a minute. There's good cover for me on my own, but I wouldn't expect much room for sharing. I'd recommend it for how it feels and how neatly it's designed!

Of course, we're now in a drought.
I picked this up in November to carry on walking during California's rainy season. Of course, we're now in a drought. Have only managed to use it twice, and it was fine both times. I start to feel the weight after about 5km, but I doubt it would bother most people just using it for their usual shorter outings.
Gerald Galloway
The beige looks lovely.
Had to replace mine after somebody "borrowed" it and apparently decided to keep it. Simple to use, and the button bringing the canopy down is a nice touch. The beige looks lovely. A little bigger than I pictured, but it feels reassuringly solid on a windy day.

About six uses so far.
About six uses so far. Compact to carry, decent coverage, and it's been steady in the breezes I've met. The sleeve is there if wanted, though I usually just put it away folded.5 month update: still using it regularly and no complaints about how it's holding up.
Nicholas Daniels
He's delighted with his.
An easy birthday choice for my nephew, since his school friends all carry umbrellas and he wanted one too. He's delighted with his.It seems to be coping with a seven year old using it every day. Only a month in, so not a long test, but we're pleased with how it's holding up.
Charlotte Grant
It really suits one person best.
A few rainy outings in and I'm impressed, particularly getting into the car. Pressing the button shuts the canopy, then the shaft needs pushing down by hand. It really suits one person best. A friend squeezed in beside me, but neither of us had much room to spare. For regular sharing I'd want something bigger, but for my own use it's been excellent.
Richard Atkins
A small point, perhaps, but worth noticing.
Purchasing an umbrella during a stretch when rain has been distinctly scarce may sound a little hopeful. In my case there was a reason for it. We had just enough of a shower locally for me to get the old umbrella out of the car, and I found myself getting wet in places I should not have been. A closer look showed worn fabric where it rested against the frame. That umbrella has been around for longer than I can readily recall, so I consider that retirement earned rather than a grievance.
I spent some time looking through reviews before settling on this beige one. It was not the least expensive option I considered, but I was more interested in getting something that appeared well put together.
It arrived late yesterday, and my assessment so far is based on examining it and trying the mechanism, not on a lengthy outing in the rain. The construction makes a good first impression. Opening is quite brisk when you press the button, so I would leave some space in front of it rather than point it toward anyone.
A second press gathers the canopy closed. You still need to slide the extended shaft down manually to get it back to its folded size. Once I understood the distinction, the sequence was perfectly straightforward.
I had not come across Haven before, which sent me back to look more closely at the product information after unpacking it. The number of ribs had not particularly caught my attention while shopping; seeing how the frame is arranged was more useful to me than reading a number. The handle is an enclosed oval, not the curved hook I tend to picture when thinking of umbrellas. A small point, perhaps, but worth noticing.
For now I am pleased with the replacement. Whether it will match the long service of the one in the car is something I cannot yet know. I will add to this if use gives me anything worthwhile to report.
Devin Pace
It looks really nice as well.
Only had the umbrella a couple of days and my wife is already pleased with it. She gets fed up with flimsy ones and with fighting to close them, so the button operation is a big plus for her. It looks really nice as well. There are two little things worth mentioning. Pressing the button folds the canopy, but shortening the telescoping shaft still takes a firm push by hand. She'd prefer a little less effort for that part. It also has a bit more weight than her usual umbrella, though nothing excessive. Overall she loves it and it feels very well made, with a solid frame and a nice finish.

The present my boyfriend had in mind was a real sword.
The present my boyfriend had in mind was a real sword. My budget wasn't going to manage that! He's moved to a very rainy place...so I decided to go practical and give him an umbrella instead. Less dramatic, definitely, but he was delighted to have something he'd actually use!
John Sheppard
Much better for my walk.
Started walking to work and needed a better umbrella, my old one was alright for a quick dash but not the whole walk. My shoulders and the top of my backpack always seemed to catch the rain. This one gives me more useful coverage without being awkward to carry once I get there. I've only taken it out in wind on one occasion so far, and it coped well when the gusts came from different directions. Much better for my walk.
Parker Gross
I even get compliments on it, which is a nice bonus!
Nearly a year of use and this has become my favourite umbrella by far. It feels really sturdy and I don't have to fiddle around getting it open, one press and it's ready. I've had umbrellas before that made that simple job a nuisance, so I appreciate how consistant this one has been. I even get compliments on it, which is a nice bonus! Living in Oregon means it gets used a lot, not just carried around for show. I'd absolutely recommend this to somebody wanting an umbrella they can use day after day!
Ronnie Cardenas
Nicer looking than I thought it would be.
Nicer looking than I thought it would be. My 3 year old loves pressing the button while I hold it steady, and I help with pushing it back down afterwards. She still feels like she is doing it herself. The teachers have admired it too. Good quality and a lovely little bit of independence without her having to do everything.
Ethan Glenn
I recommend this one for sunny days.
I recommend this one for sunny days. I tend to get an umbrella each summer, and this feels comfortable to carry and doesn't look out of place when I'm using it for shade. Living somewhere very hot, I appreciate having something between me and the sun. It has been a good choice for me. Thank you.

Really glad I found something she was happy to receive!
Christmas shopping for my mother is hard, because anything she wants she usually gets for herself. I chose this umbrella thinking it would be useful when she takes her dogs out, and a bit nicer than the usual practical present. She LOVED it. Really glad I found something she was happy to receive!
