I picked the gray one for my six year old daughter.
I picked the gray one for my six year old daughter. I thought something plain made a nice change from all the character things. It is still really cute, and the best part is how easily it opens! The button gathers the canopy up again too. Great little umbrella (We are a military family overseas, so getting things here can be slow. Writing this from my husband's account!)

A good looking umbrella and a useful size.
A good looking umbrella and a useful size. It feels solidly put together. The overall finish gives me a good impression. I haven't had it out in wet or windy weather so I can't report on that part yet. I would expect sensible use to matter, rather than trying it in a serious storm.Caution though: give this plenty of clear space when opening. Keep it away from faces and children, and don't try popping it open inside the car or squeezed between an open door and the car. There is quite a spring behind it and the tips are not something you want by anybody's eyes or ears. Point it up and clear of nearby people and objects. It gives a very pleasing "Whump" when it goes out.The button brings the canopy back in neatly. You then compress the telescoping shaft by hand, which is just part of closing it. Nothing troublesome about that. I would keep a careful grip on the gathered fabric while doing this and getting the strap and sleeve on, so an accidental press doesn't catch you unprepared. Strapping the fabric first, before pushing the shaft back down, is another way to do it.I'd certainly recommend it. A nicely made item, just be sensible handling it

Such a handy umbrella!
Such a handy umbrella! The canopy folds at a button press while I'm getting into the car, then I push the shaft down myself. It isn't a burden in my purse either. The gray has a nice classic look. We've fitted two underneath for quick dashes, and there's a LOT of dashing about in Florida's rainy season. I'll be buying a couple for friends because I know they'll find them useful too.
James Cisneros
It's a little bulkier than the really tiny ones.
This is compact enough for my purse, which is the main thing I was after. Haven't had much chance to use it yet, so I can't really say anything about long term sturdiness - I can update if that changes. I don't expect a folding umbrella to feel like a great big stick umbrella, but this seems reasonable so far. It's a little bulkier than the really tiny ones. Still, it does fit in my bag.
Gloria White
Very impressed with this umbrella.
Very impressed with this umbrella. The button makes opening and bringing the canopy back in simple, and it's stayed steady in wind so far. The sleeve is handy when taking it to sporting events or concerts, keeps it neat. Carrying it tucked away like that makes me feel oddly ninja-like.
Brad Griffin
A solid umbrella that I am happy to keep using.
The Cream White canopy looked lighter than I had expected, especially against the black lining underneath. It isn't see-through, though, and feels substantial enough once opened. The folds show quite clearly at first. I was more concerned about whether the material would stay evenly spread across so many ribs, but there has been no sagging so far. The construction feels reassuringly solid in the hand.
Folded, it is about 40cm long. Compact, yes, but not something I would expect to slip into a small coat pocket. The handle forms a closed oval rather than having a hooked end. There is enough space inside it for a comfortable grip. The shaft telescopes down, and the 30 ribs make quite a busy-looking arrangement underneath. The centre mechanism moves briskly when you press the button, so I hold it clear of myself before opening. With it over my head, the canopy extends well beyond my shoulders. Plenty of coverage for me.
---ONE YEAR ON: I've had this for more than a year now and it remains in good shape. It doesn't get used every day, and sometimes stays folded in its sleeve for a while. It has still opened normally whenever needed. One thing to understand is that closing with the button means closing the canopy, not drawing the entire shaft back down. You push that part in yourself. Once I understood the sequence, it was straightforward. I also arrange the fabric into its folds before replacing the sleeve, rather than trying to force a loosely bundled umbrella into it. There is quite a lot of material to gather despite the folded size. The pale colour still looks pleasant, and my early concern about the canopy becoming loose hasn't amounted to anything. A solid umbrella that I am happy to keep using.

Handy size to take along.
Handy size to take along. The carabiner loop clips on easily, and the black underside is nice when using it in sunshine. My only niggle is that pressing close doesn't make the whole thing short again. It gathers the canopy, then you have to push the telescoping part down yourself. That's how it's meant to work, i just would have liked less to do before hanging it on my bag. Not a deal breaker, and overall good value.
Levi Avery
It seems solid enough and everything looks in good shape.
I dont get much serious wind where I live, so I can't really speak for that. It seems solid enough and everything looks in good shape. So far i've only used it in our regular rain, nothing extreme, but I came home dry and that's the whole point - happy with it!
Joann Flynn
Ordered one for my sister at Christmas and she loves hers.
Ordered one for my sister at Christmas and she loves hers. I have one myself from last year and it's been great, so I knew what to get her. We'd both wanted an umbrella that was easy to carry but still gave decent cover! These do just that. She's happy with how sturdy hers feels, and mine has kept me dry without turning over on wet and windy days!
Devon Moon
Tempted to get a few more so there's always one handy.
Had this tucked in my bag in Rome and was very glad of it when the rain suddenly came down. It isn't a giant umbrella, so don't expect acres of shelter. But for something I can fold away and carry around it's really useful. Doesn't take up my whole bag either, which matters. Tempted to get a few more so there's always one handy. I've owned plenty of umbrellas and this is one of the more practical ones.
Wesley Anderson
The oval loop handle is a nice detail too.
Never thought I'd look forward to a rainy day! But how can you NOT smile a little carrying this lovely cream white umbrella? Among all the dark umbrellas it looks so fresh. I expected it to be mostly about looks, and was surprised by how solid it feels for the price. The oval loop handle is a nice detail too. It's been good company in Chicago rain, and I can easily see buying one for those friends who are impossible to find presents for.
Adriana Keith
I'd certainly recommend it to someone wanting a lasting umbrella.
The green is a nice lift when the weather is miserable, and this isn't just a pretty umbrella. Mine has stayed dependable through plenty of wet days and wind over the years I've had it. Still opens properly, still looks good. Nothing has given me trouble. I'd certainly recommend it to someone wanting a lasting umbrella.

my girlfriend and i needed something we could share, we're both quite slim. Standing close we can get our shoulders under this one, with a little cover to spare. It feels solid when it's up, but folds away much smaller than I expected. For two smaller people who dont mind being close together I would happily recommend it.
Chad Ellison
My son is so pleased with his umbrella.
My son is so pleased with his umbrella. It looks really cute when he's carrying it. Going out in the rain is no longer an argument, although persuading him that it's time to put the umbrella away is another matter. He would happily keep it out all day. Seems reasonably sturdy for an umbrella, and after about ten uses we've had no trouble with it.
Brandi Patterson
A good practical umbrella.
I've taken this out when other umbrellas were ending up inside out or abandoned in bins.It isn't a huge thing to carry, yet it feels surprisingly strong when open. The 30 flexible ribs give the canopy plenty of support, and it can move a little with the breeze rather than feeling rigid.I've stayed dry underneath and haven't had to fight with it just to keep it open. A good practical umbrella.

i chose this as a prop for wedding pictures because im going with a gray colour theme. I imagined a picture taken from underneath with the gray showing, and was a little let down that the inside is plain black. Its still cute and i will use it, but a photo showing underneath would have made that clearer before i picked it.
Calvin Harding
For everyday rain though, I'm happy with it.
Open, there's PLENTY of cover-- more than the folded shape suggests! Still manageable to carry. I need an umbrella for about nine months here (yes, the rain really does go on that long... ) so it gets plenty of use. I wouldn't push my luck in very strong winds. For everyday rain though, I'm happy with it.
Claire Ewing
An excellent umbrella.
An excellent umbrella. This makes four I've bought to give away. The button is convenient and the loop handle clips neatly onto a backpack or briefcase. I do find getting the fabric arranged for the sleeve a little fiddly. Taking an extra moment to wrap it evenly helps, though, and the convenience easily outweighs that small nuisance.
Jeff Holmes
Looks better than I expected in person.
Looks better than I expected in person.Feels quite solid from the use it's had so far. Our spring rain can get pretty blustery so I'm hoping it lasts well. The handle could be a little bigger for my hand, but not enough to bother me much.I'm considering another to leave in the car.
Grant Bautista
This one is a decent size and the quality is pretty good.
Wanted more cover while waiting for the bus and wandering around in wet weather. This one is a decent size and the quality is pretty good. So far it has handled rainy, breezy days nicely. We keep it at the back of the car ready to grab, and feel we picked well.
Olivia Mercer
No long umbrella to lug about.
I wanted a umbrella that would stop me getting soaked but had a bit more personality than the usual one. Found this wandering around the webz and I'm rather attached to it now. It feels well made, the oval handle is different to what I'm used to and the black underside looks smart. The carry sleeve is handy for putting it away dry and getting it back into my bag. No long umbrella to lug about. I'd definitely suggest it if you want something interesting that is still useful.
Jonathan Hart
My main reservation is the weight.
I went through a ridiculous number of umbrella reviews before deciding on this one. I was trying to find something that would fold away without feeling too small when opened, which sounds straightforward until you start comparing everything and then you aren't sure what matters anymore.
Firstly, there is quite a lot going on underneath the canopy. The handle is a closed oval loop, which felt a little unfamiliar initially because I'm used to the curved kind, but it is comfortable enough in my hand. The middle pole telescopes, and the button opens the umbrella and pulls the canopy closed again. You do still need to compress the pole yourself afterwards. That isn't difficult, but I hadn't quite understood the distinction before actually trying it. There are also lots of ribs supporting the fabric, and they have some flexibility rather than looking completely rigid. I had to look up what the different umbrella pieces were called, so this is about the limit of my technical knowledge.
The canopy is a useful size once it is open. I like that it doesn't feel as though I have to keep adjusting it to cover one shoulder and then the other. I let it stand open to dry after using it rather than immediately putting it in the sleeve. The sleeve is useful for storing it afterwards, although getting everything folded neatly takes me a moment.
My main reservation is the weight. It folds down to a manageable size, but that doesn't mean it disappears into a bag without you noticing it. Looking at all the ribs and the opening mechanism, I can understand there being some weight to it; I just wouldn't describe it as a particularly light little umbrella. That is more of a consideration for carrying it around all day than for actually holding it in the rain.
It has only had one outing with me yet, so I can't really give an opinion on long-term wear. I may add to this after more use, because something looking substantial and something lasting are not necessarily the same thing. During that outing it kept me dry and didn't feel difficult to control. My mother could fit beside me if we stayed close together lol, though we are both short. I wouldn't call it a roomy umbrella for two, but for myself the coverage is good and it wasn't awkward at my height.
So the thing keeping this at four stars is mainly having to account for its weight when packing my bag. Otherwise, my first experience has been positive, and I'm glad I settled on it.
Ralph Lee
It has become my regular umbrella and still packs away neatly.
I picked this up to replace an older umbrella and like the overall look, including the sleeve. On its first rainy outing it gave good coverage and was straightforward to use. I haven't had enough windy weather with it to award the extra star yet. The handle is an unusual shape, but there is enough to get hold of, and the button is easy to find. Pressing it to gather the canopy is useful; the shaft then needs pushing back in by hand. There is comfortable room for me underneath, or someone can tuck in close for a short walk. I like it enough to consider more for Christmas gifts. UPDATE: After more use, my opinion is much the same. It has become my regular umbrella and still packs away neatly. Keeping four stars until I've had more chance to judge the frame in wind.
Derek Villegas
it looks and feels like a quality umbrella.
For the money, the finish is better than I expected; it looks and feels like a quality umbrella. Blue on top with a black underside. A press of the button opens it—another press draws the canopy closed, then the telescoping stem needs pressing in manually. Straightforward to operate and nicely put together. Reached me in Germany quickly too.
Joe Underwood
Smart appearance and a reassuringly solid feel.
Smart appearance and a reassuringly solid feel. Around the Pacific Northwest an umbrella gets used often, with breezes as well as rain, and this has suited me well. It isn't a featherweight, but the size is sensible and it packs away neatly. Looks entirely at home with work clothes or something casual down by the water.
Harold Knox
Initial impressions of the build are good.
The opening and closing arrangement was not immediately clear to me, but after trying it carefully I understood that the shaft resets by hand. The canopy responds well to the button. I will give it a proper test in the windy rain expected tonight. Initial impressions of the build are good.
Ariana Rowland
A handy umbrella at a sensible price.
A handy umbrella at a sensible price. I like the look of it and it sits easily in the pouch behind my driver's seat, ready when I need it. Opened out, it gives me enough room without being a great big thing to carry. The button is convenient for getting it open quickly. The sleeve is my only little gripe. It's a TIGHT fit, and I have to take the time to fold everything neatly and fasten it before it'll slide back in. Not enough of a bother to lose a star, but worth mentioning.Overall, a good choice if you want an umbrella to leave in the car or have handy at work.
Maxwell Ballard
Overall, a good umbrella, and I'm pleased with how it performs.
I've lost count of the umbrellas that have turned inside out on windy city streets. This one has given me a much better experience so far, with a frame that feels reassuringly strong and has some flex to it. I wouldn't call any compact umbrella storm proof, but it has handled my rainy walks well. The one thing I'd change is the last part of putting it away. The button folds the canopy, but you still have to shorten the telescoping section manually. That's normal for this design, just less convenient when I'm carrying things. Overall, a good umbrella, and I'm pleased with how it performs.
Casey Combs
The frame feels sturdy and the fabric looks well finished.
I chose this as my husband's Christmas present after seeing the pile of cheap bent umbrellas he had collected. So far it seems a much better option. The frame feels sturdy and the fabric looks well finished. I particularly like the flexible ribs, which seem more sensible than something completely rigid when the wind picks up. Hopefully this is the one he'll keep reaching for, rather than another addition to that pile.
Isaiah Cox
I'd be quite content for it to remain just my umbrella.
Seems properly put together and has handled the breezy days I've used it in without any fuss. The loop handle is comfortable, and carrying it hasn't felt tiring, something I was a little worried about. As for its usefulness in a dramatic self-defence moment, thankfully I've no experience to report. I'd be quite content for it to remain just my umbrella.
Mandy Perry
Coverage is good and I actually stay dry.
Brilliant so far! It has coped with the horrible windy rain that normally has me struggling with a little umbrella. Coverage is good and I actually stay dry. Just bear in mind compact doesn't mean it disappears into a coat pocket. Wrapped up, it is noticeably chunkier and longer than the tiny ones I used before. For me that's worth it because the whole thing feels much more substantial and looks nicer than the usual little folding umbrellas. The handle is the one part i'd change a little. The oval loop is comfortable enough, but the bit I actually grip feels a little short in my hand. Someone with smaller hands might not notice at all. I would have liked a touch more room there. Otherwise I love it and am very glad I bought it.
Adrienne Logan
Even so, I remain entirely satisfied with this purchase.
The construction gives a solid impression, and the umbrella seems likely to last. Its many ribs support the canopy well, which is reassuring when there is wind. It is also pleasant in appearance and comfortable in the hand, so there is nothing to object to there. The small inconvenience is fitting it neatly into the supplied sleeve after use. Even so, I remain entirely satisfied with this purchase.
Barbara Ball
What a useful little convenience!
This replaces an umbrella I'd kept for more than 20 years, so it had quite a lot to live up to! I don't enjoy boring accessories and the pink seemed much more my sort of thing. It looks lovely and feels nicely made, and people have already said how pretty it is. I hadn't used a button to close a canopy before. What a useful little convenience! Here's hoping I enjoy carrying this one for just as many years!
Robyn Delacruz
It still had to go in my bag.
After a fairly ridiculous amount of searching, I ended up with this one because I wanted decent coverage without having to carry a full length umbrella to work. It still had to go in my bag. Wind is usually what finishes my umbrellas off, and I don't put much faith in the idea of a completely windproof umbrella. This looked more substantial around the ribs and connections, which was what persuaded me to try it. On its first wet outing I got a gust while crossing the road and the canopy did turn over with me holding it almost level. I was able to get it back into shape, but it was a reminder that how you hold an umbrella matters. Turning it into the wind rather than letting the wind get underneath made a noticeable difference. The construction is the part I'm happiest with. There are a lot of ribs supporting the fabric, and they have some give rather than feeling completely rigid. I can't tell you what every part is made from, but the joints look neatly put together and nothing feels particularly flimsy. My conclusion so far is that this isn't something I'd carry straight into any weather and expect it to ignore the wind. For normal rain, though, the coverage and the feel of the frame make it a worthwhile step up from the very basic compact umbrellas I've used. Whether that means it will outlast them is something I can't answer yet. I would rather pay a little more for construction that feels reassuring, so overall I'm satisfied with it. Hopefully that gives a useful idea of what to expect.

What a sweet umbrella!
What a sweet umbrella! I picked it up for my two-and-a-half-year-old niece and she wanted me to leave it open all the time. It feels sturdy and nicely finished. The button makes opening it quick, and closing the canopy is simple too. She was fascinated by it. We haven't taken it out in the rain yet, but I feel sure it'll be fine!
Mitchell Everett
A sensible design for once.
A sensible design for once. The walk to work is miserable enough in rain without standing there fighting an umbrella while everybody goes past. The ribs have some give, useful on the breezy parts of the walk, and it feels strong without being awkward to hold.Good spread of cover over my shoulders and backpack, not just a tiny patch above my head. The quick opening helps too. Much less bother for the daily walk.
Charles Carpenter
A good umbrella.
A good umbrella. The price was good for me and I am happy with what was delivered. It arrived in good condition and the opening works properly. The green colour is nice also. Thank you for sending a good product. I am pleased that everything went smoothly with this purchase and I have no problems with the umbrella.
Kerry Gay
I think that means he's happy.
It looks much like the photo. My son has just turned five and had been asking for his own umbrella for ages. It stays beside his seat in the car ready for wet days. He likes pressing the button himself, though I help put it away. All arrived nicely packed and when expected. I think that means he's happy.
Jon Roach
The beige is a lovely shade and it feels solid, not flimsy.
The beige is a lovely shade and it feels solid, not flimsy. Keeps the rain off like it should. Four stars because I think the price could have been a little lower.Oh and it's compact in the sense that it folds, not one of those tiny umbrellas you can lose in a corner of your bag. Still takes up some room. The benefit is the coverage when it's open, which I would rather have than something too small to be useful. Comes with a handy carry sleeve as well, so I'm happy enough with it.
Javier Forbes
The loop shape is nice to grip.
I chose this as my mother's Christmas present; she plays golf throughout the year, so something for rain as well as shade seemed useful. She hasn't taken it out yet, and I'll add more once she has. For now, a note on the colour: the outside is gray and the underside is black. On my screen the photo looked rather cooler-toned. In person it is a straightforward gray, so don't expect an unusual tint. The loop shape is nice to grip. I found the folded umbrella a little weightier and more awkward than anticipated, but holding it open was quite different. It sits comfortably in the hand and feels better balanced than you might guess when you first pick it up.
Cody Curry
Excellent for everyday use.
Excellent for everyday use. I've now given four of these as gifts. Opening it takes a quick press, and the loop clips onto a briefcase or backpack instead of needing space inside. Getting it neatly into the sleeve takes me a little longer than I'd like. I just straighten the folds first and then it goes in fine.
Hailey Cordova
He wants it along on every walk, even when its sunny.
This is such a nice umbrella and my two year old thinks having his own is the best thing ever.He wants it along on every walk, even when its sunny. I handle the button and help him carry it but he still feels very grown up. After a couple months of him fussing over it, its still looking almost new. For a child who has been wanting an umbrella this has been a big success in our house.
Ronald Lynch
For me it is plenty big enough and I am happy with it.
I bought this because I was after a decent amount of cover. It is roomy when open but doesn't feel like a huge thing to carry. The rain runs off the sides, so the way I hold it does matter. I keep it level rather than tipping water down my back. For me it is plenty big enough and I am happy with it.
Ryan Lawson
Also, the umbrella itself feels sturdy, so it is not only about looks.
You have to admit, that loop handle makes it look a little different, even when you are just carrying it about. It is a cool detail. Also, the umbrella itself feels sturdy, so it is not only about looks. But, speaking for myself, a little extra width would help, because when the rain really pours I still have to pay attention to how I hold it or one side can get wet.
Manuel Mclean
Arrived as described and when expected.
Arrived as described and when expected. Having a slip-on sleeve is handy, and the folded umbrella fits nicely in the car door. It has been dependable so far. I haven't taken it through any extreme weather, so I can't speak for that. In normal wind and a decent spell of rain it has done what I needed. You can still get damp around the edges; an umbrella reduces how wet you get, it doesn't seal you off from the weather. When my other one wears out, I would be happy to replace it with another of these.
Walter Richards
Handy for a bit of shade too, not only the rain.
Got this for my daughter to take on her walk to school. Where we live it's sunshine most of the time... then the occasional rainy day catches you out. It folds small enough to go in her backpack with her school things, and she doesn't mind carrying the weight. The blue is really pretty and looks like the picture. Handy for a bit of shade too, not only the rain. She's happy with it and so am I!
Manuel Montoya
A black umbrella of a handy size, fits right into my regular backpack.
A black umbrella of a handy size, fits right into my regular backpack. Was waiting on rain so I can give it a try outside. Had one chance so far and yes, does what I expected. Nothing surprising - though ... how much surprise should an umbrella really give you? :)
Connie Gibbs
Fabric and frame both give a good impression of quality.
I picked the black umbrella and i am pleased with how it looks and works. It has a simple appearance, nothing too bright, so it suits whatever I am wearing. The frame feels substantial when it is open, and it has been dependable in the rain I've used it in. Using the button is straightforward, and the canopy moves without any fuss. I also find the oval handle easy to hold without constantly changing my grip. It is comfortable enough for a longer walk. Fabric and frame both give a good impression of quality. Most importantly, I stay dry under it. Overall i got what I wanted and would recommend it as an everyday umbrella.
Evan Randall
Lovely beige, a nice sight on a miserable wet day.
Losing my old one was annoying, so I was glad to find this umbrella again. Lovely beige, a nice sight on a miserable wet day. A button takes care of opening and collapsing the canopy; once that's done I press the telescoping shaft in myself. Nothing complicated about it, and it's nice to have this one to hand again.
Howard Montgomery
Just don't buy it expecting cover for two people.
I wanted something I could keep with me without it taking over my bag, and this has worked out nicely. It's only been out in the rain a couple of times, so I can't speak for years of use, but so far so good. The push-button opening is handy, and another press draws the canopy in. Just don't buy it expecting cover for two people. For one person wanting an everyday umbrella that folds away, I think it's a very good choice.
