the button works nicely and its doing well so far.
My mom wants good coverage but never wants to lug a big umbrella around, so this was a good choice for her. the button works nicely and its doing well so far. opens out much bigger than you would think looking at it folded. She keeps it tucked in the door pocket of her car.

For the cover you get, it's easy enough to carry.
I first started using this at my son's football games in Las Vegas, mostly for a break from the sun. People forget we get rain here too (smile), so it gets used for both. I've had mine for years and it still opens just as it should. At the bus stop i sometimes let somebody stand close under it, because hardly anyone seems to bring an umbrella. Growing up in NJ, I wouldn't have dreamed of going without one when rain was coming. This gives a decent amount of cover, so I keep a proper grip when the wind picks up. It hasn't flipped on me. For the cover you get, it's easy enough to carry. Hopefully there are plenty more years left in it, i have no reason to replace it.

I'm quite content under my umbrella.
The pink is stronger than I expected from the picture. Still, I like the umbrella. I wanted shade at my downtown bus stop after our only tree was removed for a ramp. It gets hot there and I'm fair skinned. This makes waiting much more bearable. One man gave me a funny look and pointed out that it wasn't raining. I told him it wasn't shady either, and he could stand there sweating if he wanted. I'm quite content under my umbrella. Not much else to say.

I looked over the fabric, frame and handle after unpacking it.
The parcel reached me sooner than I had anticipated, and the packing was neat and secure. Everything inside was clean and undamaged, which gave a good first impression before I had even opened the umbrella.
I looked over the fabric, frame and handle after unpacking it. The appearance was consistent with the listing, and the finish was more careful than I expected at this price. There were no rough looking areas or loose threads that I could see.
Having now used it, I find it convenient for ordinary rainy days. The opening action is straightforward, the grip is comfortable, and it folds into a manageable size for storage. I also appreciate that the design is simple rather than overly decorative. It is something I can see myself using regularly without tiring of its appearance.
Overall, the condition on arrival, the quality of the finish and the actual use have all been satisfactory. I consider it good value rather than just a low priced item. I would be comfortable choosing the same umbrella again if I needed another, and can recommend it!

This umbrella suits the purpose I got it for.
This umbrella suits the purpose I got it for. It folds to about 40cm, so it goes in a backpack or a larger bag, rather than a small pocket. It is not, I repeat, not something I'd choose for a big storm. I wanted it for travelling and the occasional spring shower, and it works well for that. The folding size is useful without the canopy feeling tiny. Just check the dimensions before expecting a pocket umbrella. It isn't one of those very miniature ones.
Suzanne Wilkerson
All considered, I think it is good value for what I paid.
Pink certainly cheers up the prospect of getting rained on! I've accumulated quite a few little folding umbrellas, but wanted something with a more solid feel this time. Had a more decorative one in mind... ended up choosing this plain one and am delighted with it. The fabric feels substantial, the sleeve is useful for keeping it together when put away, and it opens without a lot of fiddling. All considered, I think it is good value for what I paid.
Martha Keith
Construction looks good, nothing about it feels flimsy.
I needed to replace a full size umbrella and wanted decent coverage without having to carry something so long. This is a useful middle ground. Two of us can shelter if we keep close, and on my own there is room for my bag. It has done well in the wet, breezy weather we've had in Ohio. Construction looks good, nothing about it feels flimsy. My only niggle is pushing the telescoping part back in after the button has closed the canopy. That took more getting used to than I expected. It's straightforward now, just not entirely automatic. I am considering another to leave at work so I don't have to remember this one every morning.
Kelsey Petty
The actual quality is very good.
Compact enough to carry in my bag without much fuss. There is some weight to it, and that would be my only complaint. The actual quality is very good. I keep it in the sleeve when it's not being used, so it is easy to store away. For me it was money well spent.

Having an umbrella you actually want to carry makes a difference.
After ten years with an umbrella I really liked, losing it was a nuisance. I wanted the same dependable feeling in its replacement, so I ended up buying two of these folding ones. Both are blue, and both have been a pleasure to use. The automatic opening is handy and the construction feels solid rather than flimsy. My daughters have had this style as gifts too, and they are just as happy with theirs. Having an umbrella you actually want to carry makes a difference. I am very satisfied with what I picked and would make the same choice again. It is nice to replace something familiar and find that you don't miss the old one nearly as much as expected.

Little girl was thrilled with her umbrella & no complaints about that, it was the online buying bit I found awkward because I couldn't work out how to say who it was from, then nothing in the pkg told them either, so they recvd a gift without realising it had come from me

I really like this umbrella.
I really like this umbrella. Keeps the rain off my face without blocking where I'm walking. Looks cute and the loop handle is handy for carrying it around closed. My backpack can still stick out beyond the edge, so that's my one gripe. Happy to have spent the money though. :D

Nice to have some shade over us instead.
I went with blue and have been very happy with the shade it gives me. Haven't taken it out in really windy weather, so I can't say much about that, but it feels solid when I'm holding it. It comes along to the beach, amusement parks and pretty much anywhere we're spending a long time outdoors. Folded up it's manageable rather than tiny, which is fine by me. Especially useful when I'm wearing my baby in a carrier, front or back, because getting him to leave a hat on is hopeless. Nice to have some shade over us instead. Love it!

I've been using one of these for around five years and it's been a useful umbrella to have about. I decided on two more - one to leave in my car and one in my wife's car.For something that folds down to roughly 40cm, the coverage is generous, plenty for me and enough for two if we stand close together (not quite so practical when it's windy). The button is handy for opening and gathering the canopy, then you push the shaft back in.Also, the pink is cheerful without being too much, and people have said nice things about it.
Julia Chen
It looks smart too, which doesn't hurt.
The walk into the office is long enough that I wanted a proper umbrella, but I already carry enough things without adding a big stick umbrella. This is a little longer folded than my previous compact one, yet still fits into my computer tote. Once it's in there I don't think much about carrying it. On the breezy, wet walks I've had so far it has felt steady, and I can keep myself and the bag close under the canopy. It looks smart too, which doesn't hurt. For what it cost, this has been a very sensible buy for my daily walk.
Anna Harding
Maybe it will feel easier w/use.
Easy enough to carry, the canopy opens AND closes with the button, and that oval handle sits comfortably in my arthritic hands. A nicer looking shape than most I see round here. One thing to know - once the fabric has shut you must push the shaft back in yourself. That takes some effort with arthritis, though I can manage it. Maybe it will feel easier w/use. Between the comfortable grip and not having to wrestle the canopy shut, I'm happy to put up with that.

Replaced our worn out umbrella with this and have been pleased.
Replaced our worn out umbrella with this and have been pleased. Much less awkward to pack than the long golf one we had. It went into our suitcase for Italy without taking over the whole thing. Was especially glad of it walking around Rome when it rained. My wife and I could share it, staying close, and we kept dry rather than spending the day looking for shelter. Plenty of people were making do with flimsy umbrellas from the street stalls. We just carried on enjoying the city together. Nice to have something that packs away neatly but still gives useful cover. Made our wet walk feel rather romantic actually.
Stacy Gonzales
It has handled normal rain and passing gusts nicely.
At 6'3" I am quite a bit taller than my 4'11" daughter, but we can tuck under this for the walk from the car to a store. It has handled normal rain and passing gusts nicely. I haven't put it through the really severe storms we sometimes get in New Orleans, so can't comment on that, but everyday use has been excellent.
Tanya Garrison
She thinks the loop handle is fun too.
My 4 year old put an umbrella near the top of her Christmas list, so this was a fairly important purchase as far as she was concerned. Beige was the colour she wanted and it does look lovely in person. I thought the price was a bit much for something she had asked for, but the material feels good and the construction seems sturdy. It is more umbrella than a little preschool one, so I help her with it. She thinks the loop handle is fun too.
Sharon Braun
I'd happily choose this again!
The gray umbrella was ordered for my daughter to use getting to her college classes. It arrived promptly and she says it feels much more substantial than the flimsy umbrellas she has seen in the shops near campus. There is enough cover for her and her book bag, which was the main reason for getting it. She also likes being able to open it with the button when her hands are full.It folds away so she isn't carrying a long umbrella around between classes. I can't say yet how it will wear over time, and may come back to update that part. At this point the purchase was straightforward and she is satisfied. If we need another.....I'd happily choose this again!

Well made and folds down neatly.
Well made and folds down neatly. At 6'2 and 190 pounds I prefer a wider canopy, so this is more of a handy carry-around umbrella for me. It goes in my lunch bag, which I like, but sideways rain still catches my legs.Should have checked the open size more carefully before deciding it would be my main one.

Heap up your clouds, you grumbling sky!
Heap up your clouds, you grumbling sky! Uncork your buckets, bid the gutters roar! Let puddles claim the paving stones, let every rooftop answer with a drum! I shall not bargain with your watery temper, nor turn back merely for a wet afternoon! Make all the noise your gloomy kingdom pleases!--For everyday rain rather than the end of the world, this umbrella has kept me nicely dry.
Tami Mcdonald
A solid umbrella overall.
The umbrella I already own has been on quite a few trips with me, and that is really my point of reference here. It is a little thing that disappears into a purse. Wind has turned it inside out before, but it has always gone back into shape, so I wasn't looking to replace something that had quit working. With this one open, the first difference I noticed was the shape. The canopy seems more rounded than my flatter little umbrella. I like that shape for keeping rain off one person, although I find the flatter one easier to share and convenient for shade. Folded up, this is about 40cm long. That is portable, but noticeably more umbrella to pack than my old one, which is around 11 inches. The oval loop handle feels comfortable to hold. My old handle is small and rather square, so this is a nicer grip for me, even if it takes up more space. There are a lot of flexible ribs underneath. It feels well supported when open rather than thin and flimsy. I cannot say from looking at it how it will compare after years of use, but the initial impression is good. The blue is pleasant, just a plain solid colour rather than the cheerful patterns I tend to choose. That is a matter of preference, not a problem. The fabric has a substantial feel, and a carry sleeve is included. Getting everything rolled neatly enough for the sleeve takes a little attention. Not difficult, just not something I do in a hurry. The button opens it and also folds the canopy down. You then push the shaft back in yourself. Having that distinction in mind makes the closing process straightforward, though the overall package still feels larger than I usually want in a purse. For my tall husband, I think this makes more sense as an everyday portable umbrella. For me, there is still a place for the smaller one. They don't seem hugely different in useful coverage, but I notice the difference when packing a bag. If I expect a wet day and am choosing a more substantial umbrella over saving space, I would take this one. For a trip where the umbrella might spend most of its time in my luggage, I would probably reach for my little standby. A solid umbrella overall. I like it; I just wouldn't call it tiny.
Jason French
Very easy to recommend.
It's wet and blustery here in Northern California today, and I've already taken this out a few times. It has handled my walks well without feeling flimsy. That's on top of rainy days in San Francisco, trips through the Midwest and showers in London this year. It has had a proper amount of use, not just a quick test indoors.Very easy to recommend.

Grandma did GOOD!
Being a grandma means I can buy a pretty umbrella just because I feel like it. This one is blue, which happens to be my little granddaughter's favorite, so that settled the decision right there. She was thrilled when she saw it and I think it looks lovely too. Grandma did GOOD!
Andre Bird
I've used it twice now in heavy CHicago rain.
I've used it twice now in heavy CHicago rain.It kept me dry and held its shape through the gusts. Looks quite smart rather than flashy, and there is a reasonable spread of cover for a compact umbrella. Should be useful for someone with a walker too.I'd happily buy another.
Sophia Flowers
The handle is pleasant to hold and opening it is easy.
Dear umbrella shoppers,I read through plenty of opinions before choosing this one, and wanted to add my own experience! I've now bought two for everyday use and have been impressed by the quality of both. My advice is to think about how you will carry an umbrella, not just how large it looks when open. This one gives useful cover but still folds into something manageable. In the rain and breezes I have used it in, it has felt reassuringly steady. I can't speak for every storm, but I haven't spent my walks fighting with it! The handle is pleasant to hold and opening it is easy. I am a contented customer and would choose it again!Best wishes,--A fellow rain walker

The order came in the evening,,,,all here
The nice thing is it works for rain and for shade, not too heavy either.
In a breeze you still have to hold it properly~^^
Bought 3 altogether, one was sent on, one went in the carrier just in case, and the other one was...
With a child there is enough to carry already. This doesn't add too much, although folded it needs a bit of room.
Judith Pennington
Very happy I replaced the old one!
Money well spent! My last cheap umbrella was an emergency purchase because I was already getting soaked, and it barely made it through that first outing. This feels like a much better choice for walking to work in the city. I can hold it at a sensible height and still see people coming, rather than hiding underneath it. It's kept me dry and hasn't flipped on the windy days I've used it. Very happy I replaced the old one! Roomy for me on my own, although two people could tuck under it if they stayed close.

Arrived quickly and was packed neatly.
Arrived quickly and was packed neatly. It looks like the picture (pink, as expected). The handle is an oval loop, rather than the hooked kind. The button handles opening and closing the canopy.Overall it seems decent for the price; I wouldn't deliberately take a compact umbrella out in a serious windstorm, but for everyday use I am pleased with it... I'd get another.I find the coverage comfortable on my own. Sharing is possible if you stay close, though I wouldn't choose it for two people who both want lots of room.

Handy size for someone who travels alot.
Handy size for someone who travels alot. I picked one up for my boss and she says it goes in her laptop bag without using all the room (some folding umbrellas are surprisingly bulky). Her elderly mother had a look and wanted the same, so she gave me money to get another one. Apparently it fits in her purse nicely as well. After sorting umbrellas out for everyone else I am starting to think I should get one too. :-)

I'm happy with it and don't feel the need to keep looking.
Walking to work in NYC is where most of my umbrellas have met their match. The gaps between the buildings seem to send the wind straight at you, especially around Queens Plaza. I don't want to carry a huge umbrella all day on the chance it might rain. My preference is to leave one in my work bag until needed. That way I'm prepared for rain without having something extra in my hands when it's dry. The really tiny ones have been a disappointment though. I'd spend half the walk trying to stop them turning inside out, then wonder why I'd bothered bringing one at all.
This one feels like a sensible middle ground. You aren't going to slip it into a pocket, and it only just fits in the bag I use for work, but it fits. That's the important part for me. Open, it gives me enough coverage without making me feel as though I'm taking over the entire sidewalk. (People carrying enormous umbrellas through a crowd don't seem to notice anyone else).
I've used it on wet, blustery walks and haven't had it flip over so far. It's a relief to just hold an umbrella normally instead of constantly fighting with it. For the way I get around, the balance between folded size and actual coverage is right. I'm happy with it and don't feel the need to keep looking.
In short: fits my bag, covers me properly, and has handled the windy streets well.
Clayton Gay
the oval handle is handy to hold.
nice fabric. lovely pink. plenty of cover. feels manageable. two can get underneath if you stay close. I mainly wanted it for shade, so that's what it'll be doing most often. it folds down but still needs a fairly roomy purse(not the little one i usually carry). the oval handle is handy to hold. haven't had enough windy weather to say much about that yet. i will come back and add more once its had a proper chance with the weather.

It loses a star with me on the weight.
There's a reason Chicago has that Windy City nickname! Getting caught outside when the rain joins in is no fun at all. I'd kept buying inexpensive umbrellas then wishing I hadn't, so this time I put a little more money into one. Wasn't totally convinced it would make much difference to be honest. But on a wet walk I noticed people around me fighting to hold their umbrellas steady, and only then really thought about how breezy it was! This one kept its shape and I could walk normally instead of bending myself around the thing. That's the difference I wanted.
It loses a star with me on the weight. For something that folds down it isn't what I'd call light, and it still occupies a fair amount of room. Around town, going to work or doing errands, that doesn't bother me much because I'd rather have the sturdier feeling umbrella. Packing it for a long holiday would be another matter, everything adds up in a suitcase and this wouldn't be my first choice there. You do get a carry sleeve, which is handy for keeping it together, but that doesn't make the bundle any smaller or lighter! So for travelling I'd probably choose something more basic and light. For everyday coming and going, this is the one I'd reach for. Not perfect for every purpose but I'm glad I spent the extra.
Austin Suarez
Seems a sensible umbrella to keep on hand.
Fits neatly in my briefcase for those unexpected showers. I wouldn't pick it for a very windy day, as keeping it angled in gusts takes some attention. It did get me through the rain though & was easy to put away afterwards. Seems a sensible umbrella to keep on hand.
Kendra Atkins
I find it very handy.
I've had a few umbrellas over the years, but the compact ones are what I actually take out with me. This one gets far more use than the big ones I leave at home. It's been tossed into the back of my car plenty of times and still opens without any fuss when I need it. If I haven't used it for a while I just give the folds a little space before pressing the button. I find it very handy. I hate wearing a hat in warm weather because my head gets sweaty (and then there's the hair afterwards), so carrying my own shade is much nicer. The blue looks lovely too, not a colour I get tired of looking at. I hold it up enough to see ahead when walking, and there is a comfortable amount of room underneath. It works for rainy days as well, which means it isn't just something I keep for summer. A genuinely useful umbrella that I take almost everywhere.
Carly Stanton
I've wanted an umbrella like this for ages.
I've wanted an umbrella like this for ages. Living in rainy Seattle and being short, I often end up looking at umbrella fabric instead of where I'm going. With this I can keep the rim above my eyeline and still have room over my shoulders. The blue is cheerful, although honestly I'd prefer a few sunny days for a change. Not the smallest thing folded for someone my size, but I'm happy enough to make space for it. Now all I need is summer.

This has to be my favourite umbrella so far, mine only came…
This has to be my favourite umbrella so far, mine only came yesterday and living in Florida you certainly get use out of a decent one, I can't stand fighting with an umbrella that turns inside out, this one feels nice and steady when it's opened.. I'm hoping to have it a long time and already thinking another would be handy as a spare... There was a little dusty looking stuff on the inside which I'll wipe away today, nothing much, I'm just eager for some rain now so I can go for a walk and see how it does properly. I didn't wait around after unpacking it, everything was packed nicely and I went straight outside to try opening it, one press and it was up, lovely beige and a good size without being something huge to carry about. It's pretty much what I was wanting, my daughter is staying with her dad in California at the moment and I'm tempted to get her one too, even if she wouldn't need it nearly so often out there. When she does get a wet day she'd have something decent with her like her mom... For anyone wanting a pretty umbrella that feels well made, I'd happily recommend this one.
Eugene Cooke
Last time out it did a very good job.
Pretty much what I thought I was buying . Feels well made, and I can get myself and my lap top bag under it without having to squeeze everything against me. I'd still prefer a curved handle, although the closed oval loop on this is fine to hold. I don't use an umbrella to tap along the pavement so that side of things wasn't a concern for me. It wasn't the cheapest option but I feel the money was well spent. I'm in west central florida and the rain here can really come down when it gets going. Last time out it did a very good job. I would consider getting another to leave in the other car. For me its worth paying a little more for something that feels this substantial.
Sharon Espinoza
That is only a small inconvenience.
For anyone wanting decent coverage without a bulky umbrella, this is worth a look. The finish is smart, the frame seems sturdy, and I like the shape of the handle. The button opens it and shuts the canopy, though you still have to compress the stem yourself. That is only a small inconvenience. We've been very satisfied with it.
Alexander Buck
It lives in my computer bag now.
It lives in my computer bag now. Working in sells, I tend to leave the close parking spaces for the customers and walk across from the back of the mall lot. It's been useful more than once for that walk. Not a giant canopy, so I keep my bag tucked in, but it does what I need.

Such a lovely surprise!
The day my boyfriend and I went to the art gallery, the weather was miserable. Windy, pouring rain, and we were both cold before we'd even got inside.I went to warm my hands in the ladies room, and when I came back he had an umbrella waiting for me. Such a lovely surprise! I kissed him straight away. The beige is simple and pretty, and it quickly became the one I always reached for. People even commented on how nice it looked. It felt sturdy in use and we could squeeze together underneath when we needed to, which made me fond of it for more than just how it looked. I used to actually look forward to a rainy day so I had an excuse to take it out. Then my boyfriend managed to lose it, and no amount of searching brought it back. I thought replacing it would mean another trip to the gallery, so finding the same one online made my day. I've ordered another and am impatient for it to get here!

A useful and attractive sun umbrella.
Using an umbrella for shade became a habit while I was living in Asia, seeing women in Seoul carrying theirs in the sun. I still do it now and people often comment on this one. The green is pretty without being fussy, and it looks nice opened up. A useful and attractive sun umbrella.
Troy Henry
Coverage is fine for just me.
The convenience is the best part for me! It goes in my purse without taking it over, though it isn't one of those tiny pocket sized umbrellas. In a sharp gust it did turn inside out once. Turning it towards the wind let it settle back, and the button action is still working normally. That makes me happy enough to keep using it, but I wouldn't choose it instead of a bigger umbrella on a really rough day. Coverage is fine for just me. Someone broader might want more room, and sharing would mean squeezing together. I keep a larger umbrella in the car for that sort of thing. This is more my carry along, just in case option. The sleeve is rather snug and putting it back in neatly is a challenge. The gray looks like the photo, which is what I wanted.
Zoe Burton
Hoping this stays with me for a good long while.
Umbrellas normally aren't something I get excited about, yet I actually like taking this one out. It opens smoothly, the canopy closes without fuss, and it feels substantial. Cream white has such a simple, classic look against a dull sky. Hoping this stays with me for a good long while.
Alec Hester
Good coverage, a solid frame, looks nice.
Nearly a year on, I still like it a lot. Good coverage, a solid frame, looks nice. My main gripe is how much effort it takes to finish closing it. The button gathers the canopy, but then you have to push the telescoping shaft together yourself. I understand that's the normal operation, I just expected less pushing. In particular, trying to do that while holding other things is quite a performance!
Clayton Bradford
Handy being able to close the canopy too.
I wanted something light, with a button to open it w/o messing about. I have enough stuff in my work bag already and use a public transport, so any extra weight counts on the shoulders. Getting out of the train with hands full is where the button really helps. This umbrella is working fine once you get use to the button. Handy being able to close the canopy too. For carrying every day though, it feels a little heavier than I wanted from a compact umbrella.
Jaclyn Estes
Keeps the rain off.
About what I wanted. Keeps the rain off. The opening button works well, and another press brings the canopy down. You still push the shaft in yourself afterwards, which needs a firmer push than I would prefer. For a fairly compact umbrella to put in my work bag on an ordinary rainy day, I'm satisfied. I wasn't shopping for something enormous to take into a storm. The beige is pleasant too, a nice change when everything outside looks rather dreary.
Kellie Gonzalez
It's good in rain too, and feels strong in the wind.
Spent 2 months in Bali wishing I'd brought something like this! It was so hot and humid my big sun hats were too much, and the rain umbrella I used for shade still let sunlight through. I've had several skin cancers removed, so staying out of the sun is important to me. Back home I bought this one. WOW, I noticed the difference straight away! It gives proper shade and feels cooler underneath! It's good in rain too, and feels strong in the wind. I'm really pleased to have it now. The one thing I'd change is the effort needed to put it away. The button closes the canopy, but pushing the shaft back in takes some force. I wish that last part were easier, and that's what kept me from giving 5 stars.
Tracey Mendoza
My daughter has had this since 2009 and it's still looking good.
My daughter has had this since 2009 and it's still looking good. It gets used quite a bit and people still compliment it. She was nearly seven when she got it. Not sure if she'll keep carrying it with her friends as a pre-teen, but it's a cute umbrella and we're glad she's had it.
Erik Cowan
I particularly like the button opening and canopy closing.
It feels strong in use, and the frame has some give when the wind catches it. I particularly like the button opening and canopy closing. A bit heavier than I expected for a folding umbrella, so that would be the only drawback. I don't really begrudge it the extra weight though, since it gives me good cover and keeps the rain off.
