Enjoying this umbrella so far. There's a decent amount of cover and the button makes opening it simple. A gust between the downtown buildings did give it a tug, so I wouldn't treat it as storm gear, but it stayed usable. Its not an enormous golf-sized thing to carry around. Two of us can tuck underneath if we're close, and for me alone there's plenty of space.

Those are small compromises for the price.
Took this along to the East Coast in July and used it at the ball park, around the amusement parks and while walking through cities. Having some shade over me made those sunny days more comfortable, and it kept the rain off as well. It packs down conveniently for carrying between stops, and I appreciate how quickly it pops open. The button needs a fairly firm press, and in gusts I still had to keep a good grip on it. Those are small compromises for the price. It'll stay in use at home too!

Def getting the same one again, not the umbrella's fault at all.
Only had mine a couple weeks, got it for a pin-up shoot and also wedding photos and the pink is so pretty, actually nicer in person than I expected. Didn't even get as far as the shoots before my dog found it and chewed it up :'( So much for keeping nice things around him. Def getting the same one again, not the umbrella's fault at all. Paying twice isn't much fun :( but apparently the dog had a lovely time while I wasn't looking
Ariel Terry
I'd recommend it.
From the perspective of a single parent with a baby to carry, this has been a very useful umbrella. Press to open it, press again to collapse the canopy. You do still have to shorten the shaft manually afterward, but I find that straightforward, not a fiddly catch to press while sliding everything. I'd recommend it. Thinking of getting a couple more so there's one by the front door and another waiting in the car.
Yvette Dean
I help fold it away afterwards.
My three and a half year old has been asking for an umbrella, so I wanted one we could use together rather than something she would struggle with on her own. She thinks it's adorable and loves pressing the opening button while I hold it. I help fold it away afterwards. It has already been a little shelter for her stuffed animals too, and has held up well.
Bryce Landry
This looks nice and gives me a shaded spot while we're out.
I wanted some shade for walks with my newborn, and this has been useful in the Arizona sunshine. Finding something I liked looking at as well as carrying wasn't as simple as I expected. This looks nice and gives me a shaded spot while we're out. It isn't tiny once folded .. I have to think about where to put it with the baby things. That said, I'm glad I have it and use it often.

Overall, I'm pleased with what I got.
It's lighter than my previous umbrella, with a grip that suits me better and no squeaking from the ribs, which I appreciate. The beige looks nice and the inside is black. I can't judge sun protection just from the fabric, although it's comfortable for shade. Maybe expecting more certainty is a bit much at this price. Overall, I'm pleased with what I got.
Vincent Wolf
The beige looks nice and it isn't too heavy to carry.
Summer afternoons in SW Florida can mean getting caught in rain without much warning. With 2 kids to get to the car, being able to pop this umbrella open with a button is handy. I don't always find that button straight away when I'm rushing, although it works easily once my thumb is on it. We keep one in each car and one near the garage door so there is usually one to hand. The beige looks nice and it isn't too heavy to carry.

I wanted to look cool, and yep, this umbrella is making that happen.
Rain starts falling and I get to pull this out and feel like a complete badass. One button and the canopy springs open. Basically sorcery. If everything I bought had an opening/closing button this satisfying I'd feel like I'd really made it. Now I'm actually hoping for more rain so I have an excuse to use it. I wanted to look cool, and yep, this umbrella is making that happen.

My least favourite part is the handle.
Canopy - The fabric has more substance than the thin little folding umbrellas I am used to. It doesn't have that tissue-paper feel.Construction - Opened out, it covers a surprisingly generous area for something that folds down this far. The button opens it promptly and gathers the canopy back up without a struggle. You do still have to compress the telescoping shaft yourself. Nothing looks crooked, and the ribs seem neatly fitted rather than hurriedly shoved together. My least favourite part is the handle. The closed oval loop is useful, but its finish feels a little less substantial than the rest of the umbrella.Colour - Pink is as pictured, not some mystery variation of pink. Underneath is black, which looks quite restrained against the outside.
For the money I think it is a decent choice. I wouldn't make grand predictions about years of service on the strength of opening it indoors, but it compares favourably with the small umbrellas I usually end up buying.
At this point it has not actually met any proper weather.
that statement may have a very short life . . .
UPDATE (the outdoor part, with unnecessary commentary): It has now had its first outing in wind and rain. No sudden inside-out flower impression, no alarming noises from the frame, and I stayed considerably drier than the pavement. The pink canopy did its work without requiring encouragement, threats, or a motivational speech.
It is not the most fearsome-looking equipment for an aspiring pirate. Pink says less 'surrender your treasure' and more 'please mind the puddle.' Still, a dry pirate is presumably a happier pirate. That is my entire contribution to maritime science. Any naval career suggested here remains entirely imaginary. (**An umbrella is rain cover, not suitable equipment for boarding a ship or settling a sword-related disagreement)

Simple button action, especially handy when bringing the canopy down.
Back for another after somebody decided my last one was theirs to keep. Simple button action, especially handy when bringing the canopy down. The green is bright and gets compliments! Takes up a bit more room than I imagined, but feels reassuringly solid when the weather gets blustery.

More importantly, the umbrella inside is lovely.
Someone had clearly taken care with the packing. More importantly, the umbrella inside is lovely. I'm always drawn to a nice looking umbrella and this one lives up to it. The button is easy to use and the frame feels reassuringly solid, not flimsy. I'd be happy to buy another in the future.
Jon Mccall
This gives me some welcome shade.
The gray looked quite light in the pictures, mine is a darker gray than I expected. Still a very pretty umbrella. I use it mainly for shade and it does that job well. Very fair skin so I burn easily, and I'm not keen on the greasy feel of sunblock every time I go out. This gives me some welcome shade. It helps that it fits in my bag, I can keep it there and open it when I need to.
Linda Watkins
An excellent everyday umbrella for me.
An excellent everyday umbrella for me. Light enough to carry comfortably (I've had lighter ones, but they didn't have the button operation), and it slips into my larger handbag or a little tote. I take it to work since so much of my commute is walking. Opening it and closing the canopy quickly is genuinely useful. A gust turned it inside out once, but it went back into shape easily and still works fine. The blue looks lovely too!
Randall Buchanan
Small when folded.
Small when folded. A reassuringly solid little thing, not that flimsy feeling you sometimes get with compact umbrellas. We're in Oregon and wet weather is pretty normal here. My wife takes it along to university and keeps telling me how useful it is. Her bag has room for it and she gets there dry. The handle gives her a good hold too, without feeling awkward. A tough little brella that actually gets used
Mercedes Nguyen
Overall I think it is a nice quality umbrella.
For Christmas my four year old got this umbrella and was thrilled. She thinks it looks lovely, and it feels quite sturdy, so I hope we'll have it a long time. There is a little new smell and getting it folded neatly can be awkward, but those are small things. Overall I think it is a nice quality umbrella.
Cristian Burns
He'd rather pull his wagon and pick up worms in the rain.
That new smell! A day or two left open to air and it was fine. He figured out the opening button quickly. closing needs another press to fold the canopy, then you shorten the stem by hand. But he is learning that holding an umbrella means one hand isn't free for all the other things he wants to do. He'd rather pull his wagon and pick up worms in the rain. Which means i end up being the one carrying the umbrella after all.

(I don't work in that office anymore...
Walking in the rain is much nicer when my hair, bag and shoulders aren't getting soaked. I can hold this high enough to see ahead and still feel covered, and it looks smart enough that people comment on it.Actually, two umbrellas have disappeared from my office, so I'm on number three. (I don't work in that office anymore...)The button on this one is easier on my thumbs than the old sliding catches I used to fight with. It took a few tries to remember that pressing it closes the canopy, not the whole shaft, which still needs pushing in. Now that I've got used to the routine, it's straightforward, and bonus... no pinched thumbs.
Jenna Cooke
I've since picked up more for the family.
I've tried spending less on umbrellas and it hasn't really saved me anything. Those cheaper ones soon felt worn even with light use. This costs more, which gave me pause, but the build feels better and it's holding up well. Should have started here. I've since picked up more for the family.
Jaclyn Proctor
A good little umbrella, I have to say.
Rain gave me a reason to try it the very day it arrived. A good little umbrella, I have to say. The grip feels comfortable and there is enough cover for me. Folded up it's a manageable size, not tiny but easy enough to carry.I'm hoping to keep this one around longer than my previous folding umbrellas. For anyone wanting something practical that also looks nice, I'd certainly recommend giving it a try.
Paul Mcmillan
she is happy with hers.
My daughter's interest in Japan is what started her wanting an umbrella to carry on sunny days, so this seemed a good choice. The cream white is a little softer than it appeared in the picture...still very pretty. She enjoys it for shade, and it is useful when it rains too. I wouldn't leave very young children to play with it unsupervised, although nothing seems loose. Better to be careful...she is happy with hers.
Maureen Harrell
Feels sturdy too, not just something pretty to hold overhead.
It makes a proper patch of shade when I'm standing in direct sun, which is exactly what I wanted. Feels sturdy too, not just something pretty to hold overhead. I've been comfortable using it on sunny days. Would like an even bigger canopy if I could choose, but I think it was money well spent.
Jeanne Ross
The button opens it out to a good size.
Found a lower price elsewhere, which is why I didn't buy it here. But I wanted to say how excellent the quality is! It feels substantial and the handle sits nicely in my hand. The button opens it out to a good size. My favourite part is the pink on the outside with the black underneath . It looks really nice when you're carrying it. For me it's the finish and the feel of it that make it more than just another umbrella.
Selena Perez
Cons: This is only a quibble.
Pros: Good materials, sturdy construction, reasonable weight, useful coverage. Everything feels thoughtfully put together.Cons: This is only a quibble. To get a really neat folded bundle I have to spend a moment arranging the fabric, rather than just wrapping it up any which way. It is a little extra fuss when I am in a hurry, but not enough to spoil an otherwise excellent umbrella.
Molly Cabrera
I might end up borrowing it when the next shower arrives!
Picked this up for my husband because he's always caught without an umbrella. He's pleased with it and finds the button opening and canopy closing easy. Still waiting to see how it does on a windier day, though. I might end up borrowing it when the next shower arrives!
Samuel Ballard
I was also pleased that they arrived in time for the holiday.
I gave two of these at Christmas to my daughter and daughter-in-law, both of whom dress professionally for work. They have each said the button is straightforward to use and that people have noticed the smart design. I was also pleased that they arrived in time for the holiday. From what I have seen, the fabric and finish seem good (only three months of use so far). Very happy with them; the longer term durability remains to be seen.
Nicolas Bender
It looks lovely opened out.
That blue is such a welcome sight when the weather is miserable. It looks lovely opened out. Only giving four stars as it takes a fairly firm push to shorten the shaft after the button has folded the canopy. Opening it is quick and simple, and nothing is actually difficult, just a little more effort putting it away than I expected!
Rick Rowland
So far I'm happy with it.
I've only needed this umbrella 2 or 3 times since buying it, and those were ordinary rainy days rather than a proper windy downpour. So far I'm happy with it. Easy to operate, It feels well put together and comfortable to hold. Nothing complicated about it, which suits me. I haven't had the weather to find out how it behaves in a real storm, so that is still a question. From the feel of it I am optimistic.
Roberta Barton
She keeps telling me how good it is.
Compact little thing. Feels properly sturdy. Not the flimsy sort I usually expect from a folding umbrella. We live in Oregon and see our share of nasty weather. My wife is at university and carries this little brella everywhere. She keeps telling me how good it is. Keeps her dry and it's handle gives her something secure to hang onto in a gust. No turning inside out so far. A tough little companion
Pamela Odom
So I got one myself and it has done what they said.
A colleague had said how much they liked this umbrella, especially on wet and windy days.So I got one myself and it has done what they said. When the wind is blowing, feels much steadier in my hand and I'm not spending the whole walk worrying about it turning over.
Erika Hughes
The construction seems pretty sound.
The construction seems pretty sound. We haven't had much wind to try it in yet, so I can't say how it would cope with that. Opening it with the button is straightforward, including when I only have one hand available. The canopy covers me comfortably without feeling like I'm trying to steer something enormous. There are a couple of things I'd change. The oval handle is a little short for my hand; a bit more room to grip would suit me better. Also, closing the canopy with the button isn't the whole packing up process. You push the shaft back down yourself, then take a moment to arrange the fabric before putting it in the sleeve. If I rush that bit, the bundle is untidy and the sleeve takes more fiddling (and my fingers get damp doing it). Neither is a major problem, just something worth knowing. Overall it does what I need and seems reasonably priced.
Leslie Conner
the umbrella looks just like the photos.
This looks brilliant!! the wrapping could have been better but everything inside was fine so no real issue there.the umbrella looks just like the photos.we haven't had rain since it came so I havent tried it outside yet. I'll add more after a wet day, for now I'm happy with how it looks.
Lynn Orozco
THIS IS WHY I LIKE LOOKING ONLINE FIRST.
THIS IS WHY I LIKE LOOKING ONLINE FIRST.My mother had wanted an umbrella like this for ages, only the prices in the shops kept putting her off. I said I would have a look for her and see what I could find. This one costed about half what she'd been seeing, so she could finally get the type she wanted without spending so much.really pleased with the quality and I'm planning to get another for her!

Wanted decent coverage while waiting for the bus and doing…
Wanted decent coverage while waiting for the bus and doing sightseeing in wet weather. This feels like a pretty good umbrella, and it's been fine through the rain and breezy days we've had. We're pleased with the choice and keep it at the back of the car so it's there when we need it.
Richard Downs
Worth what I paid, in my opinion.
Worth what I paid, in my opinion. It feels like a proper piece of kit rather than something I'd expect to throw away after a few uses. I haven't had it out in gale weather, so can't judge that, but the frame seems solid.I compared a couple of places before buying and was happy with the price for this umbrella.
Joanna Kirby
Overall, very inexpensive, easy to store and feels fairly solid.
Wanted one that didn't take up much room folded. The coverage isn't enormous, but there's enough for one person and it will go in a bag or purse. Mine stays in the glove compartment.Tried it yesterday and it did very well. One press and the canopy springs open. The button also closes the canopy, then I push the shaft down myself, which isn't hard. It all goes back into a plain pull-on sleeve.Overall, very inexpensive, easy to store and feels fairly solid. Nothing to complain about.
Belinda Ashley
Kept me dry every time.
Had it out four times over a couple of rainy days. Kept me dry every time. Getting it packed down from the car seat was a bit awkward at first. One press sends it open, another folds the canopy in.You still need to push the telescoping stem closed yourself, and that needs a fairly firm shove.
Kurt Love
This manages that nicely in normal rain.
I carry my son on my chest in a baby carrier, so I wanted an umbrella wide enough to cover his head as well as mine. This manages that nicely in normal rain. It's a bit heavier than I hoped, but the extra cover is worth it. It looks nice, though I do have to hold the canopy high enough to see ahead properly. My main grumble is packing it away. The button pulls the canopy shut, but I still need to press the telescoping section down myself, and that takes more effort than I would like while dealing with the baby. Nothing wrong with it, just something I hadn't thought about. Overall a good purchase. I haven't had it long enough to judge how it will last, but it seems solid.
Krystal Page
The price suited us and they arrived quickly.
These were the prizes at our garden club's spring tea hat competition. We carried them open in the parade, which was fun. The people who won were delighted, and other members wanted to know where we'd found them. A popular choice all round. The price suited us and they arrived quickly.
Andrea Munoz
Can't see why an umbrella would need to be just for men.
Can't see why an umbrella would need to be just for men. I'm a woman and this suits me very very well. There's enough coverage for me and the bag I'm carrying, which is what I wanted. Haven't taken it out in anything extreme, but it's coped well with the gusts on ordinary rainy days.
Charlene Hess
The folded size was the main attraction.
The folded size was the main attraction. There is enough shelter for me, without having a great long umbrella to find space for. Mine stays in the glove compartment. It finally got a wet outing yesterday and did exactly what I needed. One press opens it and another gathers the canopy down, then I push the telescoping part in myself. Nothing difficult about that. The sleeve slips over it once it's folded.Overall, a handy size, feels solid enough and didn't cost much. I've nothing to grumble about.
Jennifer Kelley
Having this over me has made a HUGE difference!
We spend so much time sitting through my siblings' baseball games and the sun can make it pretty miserable. Having this over me has made a HUGE difference! There's a nice patch of shade instead of the sun beating straight down, and sitting there feels much cooler. I can enjoy watching the game rather than spending it wishing for a cloud. Definitely something I'd want with me for those long afternoons outside.
Jane Quinn
Pretty umbrella and feels nicely made.
Pretty umbrella and feels nicely made.It gives me a decent patch of shade, more than my usual little one, and being underneath is much nicer than standing in direct sun!Has coped with a breeze too, so I'm not forever worrying about it flipping over.VERY PLEASED!
Shawn Mcmahon
We use ours in the rain and for shade while watching soccer!!
Cannot believe how affordable these were for something that feels SO solid. Picked up three as gifts and everyone was delighted. We use ours in the rain and for shade while watching soccer!! There's room to tuck in beside someone if you stand close. Much sturdier than I expected at the price. excellent value
Eileen Brown
I wanted a small umbrella to keep in my bookbag.
I wanted a small umbrella to keep in my bookbag. This takes up more of the space than I care for, even folded, and that was the whole reason I was looking for a compact one. I did find a better place for it in the bag, so that part is sorted. It opens fine and has kept me dry, I just expected it to be less noticeable amongst my things
Brandon Rice
This umbrella looks lovely
This umbrella looks lovely; however, the open canopy is more than I wanted for a parasol. I had imagined something a bit less noticeable to carry just for shade. I'll keep it for rainy days instead - apparently I'm joining the "make-way-I'm-carrying-my-own-roof" crowd, when all I was really after was a small patch of shade for myself
Maxwell Francis
Excellent find!!!
Came across this while looking for a sturdier umbrella and decided to try it. The streets around my building funnel the wind, so even a short walk can be a pain with a flimsy umbrella. This has felt much more secure in the gusts I've encountered there. I still hold it into the breeze, but I'm not fighting with the frame all the way. Excellent find!!!
Francis Jenkins
people have said nice things about it too.
i have several umbrellas and had wanted this particular folding one for quite a while. saw one open on display in a shop and kept thinking about it afterwards. this one is just what i wanted. there is enough cover for me when it rains and i like how simple it looks. people have said nice things about it too. no trouble with it so far at all. i still like a long umbrella as well as a folding one, but this is the one i keep reaching for!
Colleen Norton
Back to this umbrella again!
Back to this umbrella again! My first pink one lasted me three years and was still going strong when I left it across the country last fall. I tried a few other umbrellas in between, but none felt quite the same. Ordered pink again and I'm looking forward to having it for wet days. People always seem to notice it when I take it out!

The material has a different feel to my previous umbrellas, so I…
The material has a different feel to my previous umbrellas, so I am curious to see how the rain runs off it. The push button is convenient, especially when getting on or off a bus. There are plenty of ribs supporting the canopy and it gives the impression of being a sturdy umbrella for breezy days.
