What a neat little umbrella - folds down and has a sleeve to slide it into when it's dry. Seems nicely put together, and the button opens it & gathers the canopy back in. The stem still needs pressing down by hand, so I help my 6-year old with that bit. Haven't had rain to properly try it yet - but for us the good things are 1) manageable to carry, 2) plenty of cover without a great long umbrella sticking out, 3) the closed oval handle is handy for little hands to hang onto, 4) plain beige instead of a babyish picture, 5) the opening button, and 6) a separate sleeve that can stay in the bag until we need it. Very pleased with the whole idea so far

It copes well with breezy rain and doesn't look particularly worn.
After four years of use, I'm still impressed with how solid this umbrella is. It copes well with breezy rain and doesn't look particularly worn. Two things I'd suggest: 1) Keep track of it. I'm usually the person leaving umbrellas behind, somehow this one is still with me (touch wood). 2) Let it stand open until it's properly dry before packing it away. I pay a bit more attention around the metal bits. A little care seems worthwhile for an umbrella that has given me this much use.

Always being caught without an umbrella made me try this one.
Always being caught without an umbrella made me try this one.It folds down neatly and isn't heavy in my handbag. I've used it twice on blustery days and it has done fine. The cream white is easy for me to pick out amongst everything else in the bag. A little thicker folded than I imagined, but handy to have with me.I'm keeping it.
Curtis Mcclain
The sleeve is nicely finished as well.
The quality of this umbrella is immediately apparent, from the neatly finished canopy to the comfortable grip. Folded, it fits into my backpack without difficulty, yet gives me comfortable shelter when open. The sleeve is nicely finished as well. It has exactly the considered construction I had hoped to find.

Good coverage, solid feeling and fabric that seems decent.
Much nicer than I thought I'd get for the money. Good coverage, solid feeling and fabric that seems decent. I had expected a flimsy little thing, so unpacking this was a pleasant surprise. The construction looks quite careful to me.If your looking for a useful sized umbrella that can still be folded away, I would put this on the list.
Angela Young
A surprisingly satisfying umbrella to use.
Bought another after forgetting the first in a restaurant (typical me). I like how much shelter it gives, but pressing the button is probably my favourite part. The spring has some real oomph to it - the canopy is out before you know it. A surprisingly satisfying umbrella to use.
Albert Shannon
I like how neatly it folds away and it feels solid enough.
It's a decent umbrella, although I seem to have expected a compact one to cover a rather non-compact man. Looking at pictures isn't always the best way for me to judge size. Most of me stays dry, but my shoulders can still catch rain when it comes in sideways. That's partly my own expectations, not some great fault with the umbrella. I like how neatly it folds away and it feels solid enough. Would have liked a touch more coverage, but not enough to bother returning it.
Tracy Hill
For what I paid I'm happy with it.
Small enough to take in my bag, and the weight is quite manageable so it is easy to bring along. It has been useful both for rain and for a little shade. For what I paid I'm happy with it. The button felt a little firm at first, but I've got used to it and everything works nicely.
Chelsea Mcneil
It's just something I keep using and have been happy to have along.
I've taken this black umbrella out in rain and sunshine and its been good so far. It feels substantial when the wind picks up, and there's enough canopy to keep me covered when the rain gets heavier. In bright sun I like having my own bit of shade instead of standing with the sun straight on me. It's just something I keep using and have been happy to have along. So far it's holding up nicely and I would recommend it to a friend.

There's nothing dignified about wrestling an inside-out umbrella…
There's nothing dignified about wrestling an inside-out umbrella while the rain carries on. This one has made me much less nervous about walking out in unsettled weather. A few gusts have caught it and the ribs flexed rather than leaving me with an upside-down canopy. I'm not claiming it's invincible, but for the wet walks I've had so far it's been reassuringly steady and kept me covered.

Kept her dry so she was satisfied with her choice.
My two granddaughters are different that way, one wants fancy things and the other is quiet. The youngest was needing an umbrella for school and picked this one herself. Then we had rain at the weekend and off she went to try it, hadn't waited for a grown up to go out with her. Kept her dry so she was satisfied with her choice. It's put away for school now, not a toy. Didn't cost too much either.
Madeline Aguirre
Overall I consider it a very good purchase at this price.
The umbrella arrived in good condition and the finish is neat throughout. At roughly 105cm across when open, it gives me comfortable coverage without needing to pull my shoulders in. I don't mind the weight, as it feels substantial rather than cumbersome. The closed oval handle was one of the main reasons for choosing it, useful both for carrying and keeping a secure grip. Overall I consider it a very good purchase at this price.

Gotta get a couple more to have around.
Had this with me in Rome and it earned its keep when the rain suddenly came down. Not one of those enormous umbrellas, but there's enough cover for me. Folded up it doesn't take over everything I'm carrying, which is handy. Not something I'd squeeze in a tiny pocket, mind, but still easy to keep with me. Gotta get a couple more to have around. I've owned loads of umbrellas and this is one of the more practical ones.
Clayton Hodges
The green looks nice too.
I spend half the year by the beach and get through quite a few umbrellas. This one feels solid in the hand and has handled the breezes on my walks well so far. It is not something I'd take out in a real gale, but for the weather I use it in it has been very good. My only gripe is carrying it for a long time, as it isn't the lightest thing in my bag. The green looks nice too. I have noticed that colour quite a lot around our Cape Cod beach. Would happily get another.

needed an umbrella and the price was right for me.
needed an umbrella and the price was right for me. one of my co workers calls it my 'fancy umbrella'. But I like it! we've had some very wet days lately and it's kept my head and shoulders covered. don't have to wrestle with a catch to get it open either , which helps when i'm trying to get out the door. another thing , that I hardly noticed at first..is the oval loop handle. much nicer for me to grip than the thin straight ones. the button is handy when putting the canopy away too. very glad I picked this one!!!!

First impressions are good.
First impressions are good. The frame feels firm and the fabric looks neatly finished. Everything operated properly when checked. Haven't tried it outdoors in wet or windy weather yet. Will update after some use. Arrived unharmed, though the outer packing could have held it more securely.
Gabriel Atkinson
This one feels much more useful.
The smaller umbrella I had before always felt a bit mean on cover, particularly when there were two of us. This one feels much more useful. It has been through several summer downpours already and stayed steady when the weather got gusty. My partner and I can share it by walking close, and for me alone the canopy is a really nice size. The frame has a reassuring feel instead of that flimsy feeling you get with a bargain umbrella grabbed on the way out of a shop. I also appreciate being able to fold it down afterwards rather than carrying a full length umbrella around. I'd recommend it for anyone wanting good coverage in something they can still pack away.
Lori Hammond
Nice size to take along.
Nice size to take along. The loop handle clips onto my bag easily and the dark underside is useful for shade. My little gripe is that pressing the button closes the fabric, not the whole shaft. You have to push that back in by hand to get it short again. Not a huge issue, i just wish there was one less step before hanging it up. Otherwise I'm happy enough, especially for what I paid.

I bought this with Europe in mind.
I bought this with Europe in mind. As an umbrella it's good, but it was more weight than I wanted in my bag and I eventually left it at home. A little folding umbrella I picked up locally went instead. That was much nearer what I needed, very light and easy to tuck into my purse if rain looked likely.I expect I'll use this one a lot at home when carrying an umbrella isn't such a consideration. It wasn't that I disliked it, just that I was adding up everything I'd be carrying each day and wanted to keep that weight down.
Rachel Orozco
A straightforward little umbrella.
A straightforward little umbrella. It's handy, but I wouldn't expect the same long-term toughness as a big, heavy one. For the short dash between the car and wherever I'm going it does the job nicely. Mine has had months of use in Atlanta and is still doing fine. When folded it tucks beside the driver's seat by the door. Just right for a bit of shelter in lighter rain.
John Buckley
but I love using it!
Big green umbrella, looks cheerful and there's loads of space underneath. The canopy closes fine with the button but I have to push the shaft in by hand after, and thats more effort than I'd like. It all works as it should, just a bit of a bother to put away.but I love using it!
Katelyn Baxter
The frame feels sturdy and the finish is neat.
I chose cream white umbrellas for two of my great-granddaughters. Both were delighted. The frame feels sturdy and the finish is neat. They wanted them mainly for shade and parties, although these can go out in the rain too. Everyone who's seen them has said how nice they look.

These were thank you gifts for friends who are nurses and helped…
These were thank you gifts for friends who are nurses and helped us while my husband was very ill with oral cancer. They have been friends for a long time and gave so much of themselves helping me care for him at home. I wanted something useful that would also bring him to mind when they used it. An umbrella seemed a lovely way to express that gratitude without a lot of fuss. The black is simple and understated, which was quite all right with me.

Hello everyone, just unpacked this and I am Very pleased with it.
Hello everyone, just unpacked this and I am Very pleased with it.At first folded up it didn't look as if it would cover much, opening it was a nice surprise.Plenty of room for me. I wanted it for golf at the weekends, fed up getting caught by rain and waiting in the cart for it to stop. Now I can have some cover with me instead of hoping a tree will do the job. There is a useful carry sleeve too and it all fits away in my golf bag!!For the money I wasn't expecting much, but the frame feels much better than I thought it would. VERY GOOD!Hope that's useful. All the best,A weekend golfer.

I love it...
Well, this has been with me for over a year and I took it out again two evenings ago! Still very happy with it. I wanted a green umbrella with decent coverage, not something enormous to keep finding space for. This suits me and folds away neatly in the car or at work. I love it... money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

Beijing, Xi'an, Changsha and Guangzhou were all SO hot.
Back home after two weeks touring China, and the umbrella is one thing I'm really glad I packed. Beijing, Xi'an, Changsha and Guangzhou were all SO hot. Having a little patch of shade to take along with me made being outside much more bearable. I used it several times every day and never had trouble getting it open or closed. At the Great Wall a gust turned the canopy over, which worried me for a second, but it went back into shape and carried on working.
I hate the sticky feeling of sunscreen when I'm already hot and damp. The umbrella didn't make the humidity disappear, of course, but having shade over me was a real relief without another layer of anything on my skin. I could tell the difference whenever I put it up. We also had an afternoon of showers in Xi'an, so it wasn't only useful for sunshine. There was room in my messenger bag for it without having to rearrange everything, and the weight never became annoying. I'm very fair and get uncomfortable in the heat quickly, so this was more than something I carried just in case. Keeping water handy and being able to make my own shade helped me get through those long, hot sightseeing days.
Rick Clayton
This has been wonderful for shade!!
This has been wonderful for shade!! I use it at games and sitting out in the sun is much more comfortable now. Still warm outside of course, but having the sun off me makes a real difference. A little breeze hasn't made it awkward to hold either. I love using it!

Happy to stick with the same umbrella.
I'm back for a second one. In our windy area I've found this feels sturdy and hasn't turned itself inside out on me. The first one had an accident that wasn't anything to do with the weather. Otherwise I'd still be using it. Happy to stick with the same umbrella.

For a start, I wanted an umbrella that opened with a button.
For a start, I wanted an umbrella that opened with a button. The price was the next attraction -- I've paid similar money years ago for ones that were less convenient. This gives a useful amount of cover and doesn't have to stay full length. After thirty years of buying umbrellas I'm always wondering how the fabric around the rib ends will age --- time will tell -- but at the moment it seems a sensible purchase.
Erin Carpenter
Another look at the handle, it is a loop, easy enough to hold.
The umbrella is here; I have had it open, put it away, then out again, all fine. There is enough room underneath, and folded it goes in my bag. So I recommend it; that is what I wanted from this one. Another look at the handle, it is a loop, easy enough to hold. I tried the button a few times; at first I was watching the shaft and expecting that to go down as well. The button gathers the canopy, then I push the shaft in myself. In general it is fine. Before this I was thinking mostly about the folded size, but the open size is good too. I thought it might be too big for the bag, then put it in and there was room after all. Plenty of ribs there, the material sits properly. Everything seems fine so far. I may get another one later, for now this one is enough. Yes, I can recommend it.

OMG the new umbrella smell was quite noticeable!
OMG the new umbrella smell was quite noticeable! Let it air out and that sorted it. Getting the fabric neatly folded afterwards is the part I find fiddly, I have to stop and arrange it rather than just bunching it together. Not my favourite bit of putting it away. My little one loves it though and wants to help with the button every time. I do the final folding. It's a good size for keeping us covered together, so on balance I'm pleased with it.
Ryan Harding
Looks nice and feels sturdy.
Looks nice and feels sturdy. Longer folded than I'd expected. The green one has been handy for shade, although after a few hours outside in bright sunshine I realised it wasn't giving me the all over cover I had imagined. It's fine as something to carry around, but for staying in the sun a long time I'd still want a properly shady spot.
Vincent Valencia
They were out playing in the rain for ages yesterday.
The three little grandkids I bought umbrellas for are all under four, and now a wet day is something to get excited about. They were out playing in the rain for ages yesterday. This one belongs to the granddaughter who likes to parade around, and she carries it so proudly. There's enough cover for me under it too, so it isn't just a little toy. The button is easy for me to manage when helping her.Update: Nineteen months along and it's still in good shape, despite coming out whenever we get rain.
Joan Burton
Useful shade.
Useful shade. We notice it's more comfortable underneath this than standing in the sun at soccer and baseball games. I would rate it higher if there were room for both of us without crowding. My husband really doesn't want to carry an umbrella of his own, so that matters to us. It's fine for one person, just not the shared cover we hoped for. The price also feels a little steep for an umbrella that doesn't quite solve what we needed it to.
Wyatt Leach
I have knocked it against my heavy bag and...
Rain season in my city is really no joke, I needed something that lasts. The umbrellas before were not much good after a short time, this one feels strong.Handle feels comfortable and the loop lets me clip it on my bag pack.I have knocked it against my heavy bag and... Still working fine. I love carrying this thing, for me it is money well spent
Pam Sparks
The cream white fabric is beautiful, and it has been good to use.
The unusual loop on this umbrella has had people looking whenever I take it out! It's handy too, n feels like somebody thought about how you would actually carry it. Years ago I watched people walking in the wind, managing much better with their umbrellas than I was with mine. That stayed with me, n when I found this one I wanted to try it. The cream white fabric is beautiful, and it has been good to use. I'm delighted with it, honestly!
Sandra Wu
certainly nice to have while standing in line for rides.
looks smart! certainly nice to have while standing in line for rides. I was hoping for something closer to a giant golf umbrella, but this covers me fine for everyday use. The sleeve is handy for carrying it, though I wouldn't call it roomy when you're trying to pack it away.
Deanna Hendrix
It's small enough folded that I actually leave it in there.
Walking to work in the Pacific Northwest gives an umbrella plenty of chances to disappoint. Mine gets carried across a bridge where there's nothing much to shelter you, and the rain doesn't always come straight down. So far this one has handled those blustery walks without folding over on me. I LOVE having something dependable tucked in my backpack instead of wondering whether it'll survive the walk home. It's small enough folded that I actually leave it in there. Not glamorous, just the sort of thing you grow quite attached to when it gets you home dry.
Angela Mcneil
This one has been a good balance.
Walking between college classes means I always seem to need an umbrella. When the forecast only hints at rain, though, a long one is the last thing I want to carry. I was after something that would go in my backpack but still cover me properly when opened. Previous umbrellas have tended to compromise on one or the other. This one has been a good balance. It fits in my backpack, opens quickly, and has stayed steady during the windy walks I've used it for so far.The weight is a little more noticeable than I'd hoped, but it has been prefectly useful for keeping me dry between classes. Overall I am satisfied with it.

My teenage girl is mad about PINK and this was her Easter surprise ! Absolutely LOVES it ! She keeps saying how pretty it is.I think I may have put my umbrella comments on the wrong item before, got myself confused when leaving feedback so sorry about that...Anyway she is delighted and so am I !

Feels sturdy and nicely put together.
It opens wider than I had pictured (a nice surprise!) - definitely more cover than my usual little umbrella. Doesn't pack down to phone size, but thats not what I was after. Feels sturdy and nicely put together. I like that the button opens AND folds the canopy, then I just push the shaft back down. Much less fiddling in the rain!UPDATE: still getting plenty of use and still happy!UPDATE: haven't felt any need to replace it - remains my favourite umbrella
Ronnie Larsen
Build is good and it doesn't feel flimsy.
More canopy than I pictured from something that folds up. It feels BIG over just me, though I appreciate the coverage when the rain gets heavier. Build is good and it doesn't feel flimsy. My gripe is that folded it's still a noticeable lump to carry about, rather than something I can forget is in my bag. Otherwise very good.
Tim Peck
she likes the neat shape and the handle too.
Chose this for a female relative who cares about how things look. an umbrella is useful enough on its own, but the blue gives this one a bit more personality than something purely practical. she likes the neat shape and the handle too. for me, that makes it a nicer present than just another thing to keep rain off. not expensive for something that looks good and will actually be carried, which is the point.
Christie Newman
That isn't a complaint, just something to keep in mind.
The Haven umbrella looks smart and has a reassuringly solid feel when you open it. The closed loop handle is comfortable to carry, and I like the plain black finish. There are 30 ribs supporting the canopy, which gives it a more substantial feel than I usually associate with a folding umbrella. It is worth remembering that compact describes it folded, not the space it takes up when open. Walking along a busy Boston sidewalk, I still had to be mindful of other people's umbrellas and where the edges were going. That isn't a complaint, just something to keep in mind. If you want useful coverage without carrying a full length umbrella around afterwards, I think it is a very good option.
Carmen Pham
I am rather in love with the look of this umbrella!
I am rather in love with the look of this umbrella! Folded up it looks quite modest, then you open it and there is a good amount of cover. There is more weight to it than I first expected, although nothing that puts me off using it.The oval handle suits my small hands nicely; someone wanting a really chunky grip might feel differently. It has a pretty, understated look which is what drew me to it. I can see myself taking it along for meetups as much as everyday use. A very nice find!
Rebecca Wong
Overall we are pleased with it.
My 9 year old daughter uses this waiting for the bus in wet weather. She was delighted with it and likes the simple gray colour. The fabric feels decent and it gives her good cover. The button can take a fairly firm press for her, so she sometimes asks me to help. Comes with a sleeve, although getting it back inside is a little fiddly. Overall we are pleased with it.
Spencer Monroe
Used this through a wet, blustery spell and it felt solid in my hands.
Used this through a wet, blustery spell and it felt solid in my hands. It isn't a featherweight umbrella, so if your after something you barely notice carrying, keep that in mind. For a grown man with a backpack, I found the cover decent over my shoulders and the top of the bag.
Dale Garner
Will be taking them again this year.
I took two along to the local Renaissance Festival rather than paying festival prices. Both did what I needed and are still going strong. Will be taking them again this year. Surprisingly tough and really pretty! The gray one still folds away neatly after lots of use
Brittney Poole
It was a present and she was pleased with the pink.
My sister hasn't had many chances to try hers because we haven't had much rain in Seattle this year. It was a present and she was pleased with the pink. I would call it more of a one person umbrella, two would be a squeeze. Nice overall, just not something I'd pick if you need room for sharing.
Collin Esparza
A pretty umbrella but not flimsy either.
We used this for the swimsuit part of a beauty pageant and it did exactly what we needed. Couldn't have been more pleased with how it looked on stage. A pretty umbrella but not flimsy either. It finished off the young girl's outfit nicely, so for our purpose it was a success.
