Better shade than I was expecting from a folding umbrella.

Better shade than I was expecting from a folding umbrella. I'd have liked a little more width, though the size is given so I can't really complain about that. It isn't something I'd treat roughly and expect miracles from, but it doesn't feel flimsy either. I've carried it on the beach a few times with a breeze about and it stayed manageable without trying to turn inside out. Fairly comfortable to hold for a while too. The blue is much as shown in the pictures. Sunlight bothers me, so having some shade I can take along makes a real difference. I was half expecting odd looks using an umbrella in sunshine, but instead some women were quite curious about it. Overall a useful purchase.

First outing with it today and I'm impressed.

First outing with it today and I'm impressed. There wasn't much wind so I can't really say about that yet, but it feels sturdy in my hand. It's a good size for the busy pavements in DC at lunchtime, not so huge that I'm getting in everyone's way. Being able to open it and close the canopy with a button is brilliant. I wouldn't want to go without that now. Seems like it'll give me a few good seasons!

I do like a good looking umbrella and this one is lovely.

I do like a good looking umbrella and this one is lovely. It also feels properly put together. Some little folding umbrellas are a struggle to use, but the button here is quick and smooth. Closing the canopy is easy too. Costs a little more than I'd normally spend, but I'm glad I did!

A very cute umbrella.

We needed a replacement umbrella and this is surviving being carried everywhere by my 4-year-old, whatever the sky looks like. A very cute umbrella. My daughter manages the canopy button and can push the shaft in afterwards herself, which she is quite proud of.

the umbrella itself has worked fine.

It gives enough cover for me on my own, and folded up it's manageable in a bag. i bought it for that convenience more than for taking on terrible weather. the frame feels flexible rather than rigid, so i'm still inclined to be sensible about when i use it. what takes a star off for me is getting the sleeve back on. it fits, but only after i've taken the time to gather the fabric fairly neatly — not something i want to fuss with after coming in from the rain. the umbrella itself has worked fine. it's just that putting it away ought to be the easy bit when you're buying something to keep in a backpack, and this bit takes more patience than i'd like.

I really like the green on this umbrella.

I really like the green on this umbrella. There's enough cover for me ... And someone else if we stand close! It doesn't go in my smaller purse, but a tote works well. My arthritic fingers manage the button fine; shortening the telescopic stem afterwards is where I need two hands. I thought I would prefer a darker colour, but the green is so easy to spot when I'm collecting my things. Less chance of abandoning it somewhere by mistake, which is a real advantage for me. All in all I'm enjoying it, especially on walks with my collie. The sleeve is useful for putting it away once dry, too. I hope to get plenty of use from it, and would recommend it if you don't mind that bit of effort packing it up.

Zachary Dougherty

Nice looking too, not just something practical.

I've bought two of these and like having one in my bag in case the weather catches me out. It folds down neatly, then opens to give a decent amount of cover. Nice looking too, not just something practical. I do wish it took up a little less room, but I'm glad to have it handy when an unexpected shower arrives.

Yvette Lewis

Feels sturdy too, not like a little emergency umbrella.

I'm away a lot and wanted an umbrella I could just leave packed, instead of checking the forecast for every destination. This is just right for that. Goes into my backpack or carry on case without taking over, but opens out to a proper useful size. Feels sturdy too, not like a little emergency umbrella. Exactly what I needed!

Lisa Ashley

Size works well -- roomy enough for two standing close together,…

Size works well -- roomy enough for two standing close together, yet packs away small. Only niggle is finishing the closing -- the button closes the canopy, then you press the telescoping shaft down by hand. Not hard, just an extra step when you're trying to get out of heavy rain.

Kendra Harrington

I'd happily recommend it.

I hadn't paid much attention to push-button umbrellas until I started looking for one I could manage with a free hand. Usually that hand is the only one I have! This one pops open without any fiddling, and for something that folds down fairly small, it feels quite substantial once opened. My 10 year old was more interested in seeing how wide it opened than in the button. It isn't an enormous golf umbrella, but spreading it out at home made the coverage easier to judge than reading a number on a page. The real test was getting out of the minivan with the baby in the car seat, a diaper bag, my purse and a canvas bag of awards. Not every bag fitted completely underneath, but I managed to keep myself and the baby dry without putting everything down to wrestle an umbrella open. That was the main thing for me. I've carried it on several windy days now and it has felt reassuringly sturdy rather than something I need to nurse along. The loop handle has been comfortable too, including when I've been standing through a rainy baseball game holding it for quite a while. The gray is plain, which suits me, and overall this has been a very useful purchase. I'd happily recommend it. I'm also thinking it might suit a couple of those relatives who are so difficult to buy anything for.

Umbrellas were never really my thing.

Umbrellas were never really my thing. Always thought you end up wet anyway. This one has changed my mind. It gives me enough cover that I actually bother taking it out now. Still have to lift it a little passing other umbrellas on a crowded pavement, but it's not a huge thing to carry. There's a reassuring weight in the hand too. To me that's a plus.

Timothy Yang

Looks like a quality umbrella and was neatly packed.

Looks like a quality umbrella and was neatly packed. Haven't had the chance to try it in wind yet, so can't comment on that side of things, but first impressions are good. The loop handle feels quite substantial and makes it a little heavier in the hand. Probably better for adults than small children, I would think.

Suzanne Glass

I can't say yet how that part will wear with regular use.

I wanted something to shade me on the walk home from work, and this has suited me very well. My skin is very fair and I am much more comfortable with some shade over me instead of walking in direct sunshine. The blue fabric is attractive and people have been quite complimentary. At first I felt a bit self conscious carrying an umbrella when there wasn't any rain. Nobody has made an unpleasant remark, though, and several people have actually asked about getting one themselves. The only thing I am a little careful with is the release button. It works properly, but I don't like rushing the opening or closing and forcing anything. I can't say yet how that part will wear with regular use. For now it is doing what I wanted, and the attention it gets has been nice rather than embarrassing.

Five stars from me for keeping the rain off.

Five stars from me for keeping the rain off. My old umbrella wasn't doing much for me when the weather turned wet and blustery. I hadn't tried a button operated compact one before, and this has been very convenient. The blue canopy covers me well without my having to hold it down in front of my face. I haven't found anything to dislike. I'd suggest it to anyone who walks in the rain with things they want to keep dry.

Natasha Mayer

He's delighted!

My three year old has taken a big interest in umbrellas, so I surprised him with one of his own. He's delighted! Every preschool morning he wants it along, because apparently rain could happen at any moment. He likes pressing the button and I help with packing it away. A definite favourite here ;-)

I live in Phoenix and bought this after the long summer was over.

I live in Phoenix and bought this after the long summer was over. To be honest, it has spent more time put away than in use so far. Once the heat returns I expect that will change. The fabric and frame both seem nicely made. However, the loop handle isn't quite as comfortable in my hand as I thought it would be... it feels a little awkward to hold for long. I considered whether that would bother me enough to return it, but the shade is what I actually wanted, and it gives me that. So I'm keeping it. A more comfortable grip would improve it, but on the whole I am satisfied with what I bought.

Alexa Wang

I'd pictured a smaller umbrella, which is on me.

I'd pictured a smaller umbrella, which is on me. I love using this one. it's heavier than my tiny travel one, but feels much more substantial too. On a gusty day in Washington, DC it stayed steady and gave me good coverage. A little purse isn't really the place for it (a big handbag would be fine), so I keep the flimsy one for that. For the daily journey to work and home, this is the one I reach for.

Lucas Mahoney

After a few months of use I'm still loving this umbrella.

After a few months of use I'm still loving this umbrella. I've carried it through some heavy rain in New York City and it gives me enough room without making me feel like I'm taking over the sidewalk. In a breeze it feels secure, too.I do have two small gripes, but neither would cost it a star:1. Folded, it's a touch too long to sit neatly inside my backpack. I can live with that.2. I notice the weight on longer walks, even though it's not a huge umbrella. These are small things compared with having an umbrella I actually like using. For walking around the city, the size works very well for me.

Caitlyn Fisher

I admit this isn't for golfing, I wouldn't know where to start.

I admit this isn't for golfing, I wouldn't know where to start.I'm 6 feet tall and simply want some cover when it's raining. This gives me enough room without being a huge thing to carry. Wet shoes are still wet shoes if I step in a puddle, of course. The quick opening makes it even handier. Why would I need anything more??

Each time I take it along I'm pleased I went for it.

I bought mine first and then got one to give a friend. Why take a gloomy umbrella out when a rainy day is dull enough already? This looks lovely and does the job nicely too, opening with one button press and folding the canopy with another. Each time I take it along I'm pleased I went for it.

The Haven umbrella has been excellent so far.

The Haven umbrella has been excellent so far. Feels solid, gives me plenty of cover and the button is easy to use!I wasn't sure about the gray when I first unpacked it. Thought it might look a little dull, but it actually has a nice clean appearance. It came in handy during a wet round on the course, and the people with me had no trouble spotting me.It is coming along next time too, and I would gladly recommend it!!!

Luke Odom

The amount of cover is good though, and I prefer having a proper grip.

I wasn't sure how the closed loop would feel to hold, but the grip is more comfortable than it looks. I can keep a decent hold without squeezing it all the time. The sleeve does catch a little when I'm taking it off, so holding the bottom and pulling seems to work better for me. It opens smoothly and the whole thing feels solid, nothing loose that I've noticed. It doesn't fit in my backpack as neatly as I'd hoped, despite being a folding umbrella, so I'm still keeping a smaller one for emergencies. The amount of cover is good though, and I prefer having a proper grip. I do get the odd curious look when I'm carrying this around. Wouldn't have expected an umbrella handle to attract attention but I suppose the oval shape is different enough for people to notice. Overall I'm enjoying using it.

They were a hit, thankfully!

Picked up several for Christmas when I was stuck for ideas for the girls. They were a hit, thankfully! The material feels decent & they look nicely made too.A bit more than I'd usually spend on an umbrella, but finding something useful for everyone saved me a lot of wandering round shops. That counts for something!

Maria Woods

A solidly built umbrella with a practical frame.

A solidly built umbrella with a practical frame. Having 30 flexible ribs gives the canopy good support, rather than that flimsy feeling I've had with other umbrellas. Nicely thought out construction and a manageable folded size. Also, the push button is comfortable to reach while holding the loop handle.A very useful umbrella - recommended.

Kirk Lawson

For what I paid, this has been a very good buy.

After dealing with umbrellas whose ribs gave up and whose tips kept coming loose, this one is a welcome change. The frame feels substantial and the canopy gives me good coverage across my shoulders. I've had it out in rainy, breezy weather and haven't had to fight it just to keep myself dry. I'm not expecting any handheld umbrella to ignore every gust, but this has stayed manageable where flimsier ones used to turn into a nuisance. It also folds down so I can actually take it with me. For what I paid, this has been a very good buy.

Jasmine Costa

One press of the handle button sends the canopy up to its full size.

When I was little I saw a really elegant umbrella in a shop and was convinced I ought to have one. By the time I'd saved enough and gone back, the place had shut! Somehow that idea stayed with me. Years later, looking for an umbrella again brought it all back, and this beige one had the simple, pretty look I remembered wanting. It is lovely in person and feels much more substantial than I expected from a folding umbrella. I can put it in my purse instead of carrying a long umbrella everywhere. One press of the handle button sends the canopy up to its full size. Another press brings the canopy together, and then I push the telescoping stem down to pack it away properly. It isn't completely hands free, but it's straightforward. Such a silly small thing to have wanted for so long, yet using it really does make that little girl part of me smile!

Brittney Ibarra

I'm happy with how it has kept me dry so far.

Up here in the Pacific Northwest, rain is more or less part of getting dressed. A little drizzle is one thing. The days when it really comes down are another, and those were why I wanted a more substantial umbrella. This feels like a proper one, not something I have to nurse through every shower. The button gets it open promptly and folds the canopy quickly when I'm done. I'm happy with how it has kept me dry so far. It gives me some confidence to step outside instead of standing there hoping the weather will change.

Arthur Harrell

Be clear about the size before ordering.

Be clear about the size before ordering. Folded, it's about 40cm, so it goes in my backpack but isn't a tiny pocket umbrella. I wanted it for travelling and the odd spring shower, and for that it makes sense. It is not, definitely not, a big storm shelter. There's enough coverage for one person, not all your luggage as well. The button is handy when you need it quickly. I like it, but measure the space in your bag if you're expecting something that will disappear into a corner.

Kara Barnett

I've never had much luck keeping an umbrella for long.

I've never had much luck keeping an umbrella for long. This one seems a better bet. It has coped with my rainy outings so far and still looks good. My only niggle is the beige isn't my favourite shade. Otherwise I like it- useful umbrella for the price and worth recommending.

Jo Williams

This is a decent unbrella but the handle is not quite what I like.

This is a decent unbrella but the handle is not quite what I like. The closed loop feels a bit bulky in my hand and I notice it every time I carry it. Doesn't stop it opening or keeping me dry, just not my favourite part. I like the look of the canopy and it seems sturdy enough. For the rain it's fine, for carrying around I would have preferred a slimmer grip.

Alyssa Collins

My teenage grandson is not easy to shop for.

My teenage grandson is not easy to shop for. His mom mentioned that he'd like an umbrella, which made us laugh because it wasn't what we expected at all. He's a lovely kid, just has his own rather "unusual" tastes. We figured we'd go ahead and try it. He was delighted!! He carries it around in the sleeve that came with it. At last, something useful that a teenager actually wants!

Karen Dickson

I've bought about four of these by now.

I've bought about four of these by now. I travel to other countries quite often and one usually comes along. It's compact, but the canopy is useful in proper rain, unlike those tiny ones that hardly cover your shoulders. A couple have stayed with people I met on my trips who really liked mine. As I was heading home anyway, it was easier to let them have it and get another for myself.

CONTENTS: Folding umbrella, storage sleeve.

Rain rolls off this umbrella nicely and it makes a useful bit of shade too.I had expected an ordinary folding umbrella, but there are some details here that I appreciate. The button opens it without having to push a runner up, and another press gathers the canopy in. You still press the telescoping section down yourself to pack it away, which is the final part of closing it. The folded size is convenient and does not take over the backseat the way a long umbrella does. There is a sleeve supplied for putting it away once dry. The material looks fairly fine, but underneath you have a black surface rather than looking straight up at the green outside. The handle is a closed oval loop, quite different from the usual curved handle. It gives the umbrella a slightly unusual look without getting in the way of using it.CONTENTS: Folding umbrella, storage sleeve.FEATURES: Button operated opening and canopy closing, compact shape, flexible ribs. For me the main thing is still staying dry, and it has done that well. The extra details just make it nicer to use.

Brooke Kaufman

It fits in my purse folded and gives good cover in the rain.

For a rain umbrella that looks nice as well, this one is worth a look. The gray is nicer in person than it seemed in the photo. I was happy to find it after my old one finally gave out after three years. It fits in my purse folded and gives good cover in the rain. Takes up slightly more space than I'd hoped, but I'm glad to have a replacement.

Clifford Khan

A worthwhile purchase.

A worthwhile purchase. Simple styling/oval loop handle, just the sort of thing I wanted. It's a CLOSED loop rather than a hook, which wasn't obvious to me until I had it in hand. All those ribs look neatly arranged when you open it. The button is easy to find too, no fiddling around to get it open.Very nice.

Darrell Bean

Had this umbrella for a couple of years now and it goes with me on…

Had this umbrella for a couple of years now and it goes with me on nearly every walk. I cover ten miles or more in a normal week, so it gets used rather than sitting in a cupboard. It is light enough that carrying it doesn't become a chore, but the frame has a reassuring amount of give without feeling weak. Gusts have caught it and it has flexed, then gone back into shape without trouble. The fabric still looks good considering how many times I've wrapped and unwrapped it. Through sunny spells and wet winter walks it has been a very useful thing to have along. I don't expect an umbrella to survive everything, but this one has certainly coped with regular use better than I expected!

Lacey Bean

Yep, she loves the blue umbrella!

Yep, she loves the blue umbrella! Blue was the whole point, and she got her wish for Christmas!!! A very successful Christmas present!. Have I said Christmas enough yet, because that is when she got it. how many more words am I meant to write about an umbrella?

Krystal Sanders

An easy recommendation.

I'm not particularly interested in clothes or umbrellas, but I do like this one. Here in Portland the usual choice seems to be something dark and unobtrusive. Cream white is a nice change from all the black and brown without being loud about it. It stands out, just in a quiet way.The practical side matters more to me, and that's where I've been impressed. Press the button to open it; press again and the canopy closes, then compress the pole to put it away. Straightforward once you've done it. The oval handle feels firm in the hand and the whole thing is manageable to carry, rather than feeling like a great big golf umbrella. The ribs have some give to them, which I like. I'd still use common sense in strong wind, as any umbrella catches a lot of air when it's open. For normal rainy days it's been terrific. An easy recommendation.

Cheyenne Harmon

The green one still folds away nice after all that use

Picked up two for our local Renaissance Festival rather than paying the prices there. Did exactly what I needed. They're still going strong and coming with me again this year. So pretty and tougher than I expected! The green one still folds away nice after all that use

Very good umbrella~ black looked just right (same as the photo)…

Very good umbrella~ black looked just right (same as the photo) and it opened smoothly, all in nice condition and a very decent buy.I think it makes a handy everyday umbrella and would reccommend it to anyone wanting a folding one.I ended up returning mine only because I realised I didn't actually need it after all. Never got to try it out in the rain, so can't honestly comment on that part, but it certainly seemed well made.

Jack Gould

A roof in your bag!

A roof in your bag!Well, a roof for one, let's not get carried away. This thing is great and there's enough cover without carrying a full length umbrella about.Three small CONS:The closed loop won't just hang over a door knob.I still have to find a sensible spot for it wet in a store.when I fold it after the train and leave it damp, there are drips to deal with next time, so let it dry out first.None of that takes away from how solid it feels or how well it keeps rain off.Hope that's of use.OH and you do notice you're holding it when a breeze catches it.

Johnny Roberson

a compact umbrella isn't something I'd try to prove a point with!

I'm 6'0" and seem to hold an umbrella higher than most people, so having enough cover matters to me.The canopy on this one is a useful size without being a giant thing to carry around. Mine is green, as described, and it has kept my head and shoulders dry. I'd still take some care in gusty weather; a compact umbrella isn't something I'd try to prove a point with! The automatic opening is convenient and has worked properly over the month I've used it. The oval loop is different from the handles I'm used to and looked a little small at first. My hand actually fits around it comfortably, with enough room to find a good grip. It took a few outings to feel natural. Overall I think it was money well spent.

We received the umbrella my husband wanted today.

We received the umbrella my husband wanted today. The packaging held it so tightly that getting it out became a bit of a BATTLE, complete with hubby commentary about unnecessary packing. Once he finally had it free, the grumbling stopped and he was quite taken with the umbrella itself. It has a nice weight, looks smart, and he likes the way it opens. I can't report on wind or rain yet (we've only just unpacked it), but the quality seems decent from handling it. Hubby is pleased, so despite the performance getting it out, I'm calling it a good purchase.

Shelly Pennington

I have only just unpacked this umbrella.

I have only just unpacked this umbrella. It feels sturdy and I expect to enjoy taking it on trips, although I haven't used it in rain yet. The amount of packaging seemed excessive for something this size. Why does a small folding umbrella need quite so much wrapping around it?

Aimee Li

My kindergartners like using this umbrella.

My kindergartners like using this umbrella. We have to watch where it's held, but it hasn't meant taking over the sidewalk or poking people. No pinched fingers or quality problems so far. I help push the shaft in when putting it away. I wondered if a plain design would interest them now they're past the baby picture-book stage, but they seem very pleased with it.

Connor Chandler

Gave this umbrella to my fiance and he likes it a lot.

Gave this umbrella to my fiance and he likes it a lot. Opens out to a useful size, though it's not huge enough for the two of us to stroll side by side without getting close. We can share it for a short walk, which is handy. The frame feels sound and it's kept its shape in the breezes we've had. A nice practical present, and I'd recommend it if you want something that folds away.

Chase Dorsey

So glad we had this for our son's July wedding outdoors!

So glad we had this for our son's July wedding outdoors! Rain really came down that day, and the bride ended up using the gray umbrella, which looked lovely with the bridesmaids' dresses. (They had their own umbrellas as well.) It made a practical thing look so pretty in the pictures. We still got wonderful photos of everybody together despite all that rain. The umbrella felt strong and coped with the wet, blustery weather beautifully. A real help on a very important day

Jean Gonzales

Happy with what I bought.

I left my last folding umbrella behind in a grocery basket, so needed another. After reading a few reviews I decided to try this one. It looked the right size and wasn't too expensive. It's staying in the car for now and hasn't been out in rain yet. I've only checked the opening button, which works as it should, and looked over the fabric and frame. Seems nicely made to me. Happy with what I bought.

Cameron Wilkins

For the amount of use it's had, I'm impressed!

Mine has been in regular use for a couple of years, usually whenever I head out for a walk. It has a reassuringly substantial frame without being a burden in my hand. The flexible ribs have coped well with the gusts I've encountered, and the fabric still looks sound after being opened and folded more times than I could count. I cover at least ten miles a week on foot throughout the year, so this isn't something that just sits waiting for an occasional rainy day. It also gets used for shade when the sun is out. It has been knocked about along the way, but I haven't needed to fuss over it. For the amount of use it's had, I'm impressed!
