Still waiting for rain so I can try it properly outside.

I had been wanting a folding umbrella like this for a while, so finally went ahead and bought one. The fabric isn't quite as smooth looking as I'd imagined, a little dissapointing, but overall it seems neatly put together. Still waiting for rain so I can try it properly outside. Up to now I'm just admiring the way it looks.

Paid 4,500 won in the sale

Paid 4,500 won in the sale; at 3,500 won now, the price seems to have increased. I've had a few of these automatic umbrellas and find them good. There is some heft, and pushing the shaft back in after the canopy closes takes effort, but it is manageable for an adult. I would help a child with that part instead of leaving them to struggle. My earlier one is still fine after more than a year. This is an extra to have ready, not a replacement for one that has stopped working. Recommended.

Worth trying for yourself!

Opinions were mixed, so I wasn't sure, but the price made it worth a try. I'm glad I ordered these umbrellas. A decent size opened up and they seem nicely made. The buttons work without fuss, they fold down neatly, and carrying them is easy enough. Worth trying for yourself!

A very pleased little girl here.

We brought this home today and my little girl is thrilled with it. She's three and a half and has been asking for an umbrella of her own for what feels like a year. I can't say anything about how it wears yet, obviously, but the first impression is good and it seems a nice purchase for the money. We went with pink and she was delighted as soon as she saw it. The button is the part she wants to show everybody! I showed her how it opens and how another press brings the canopy in, then I push the shaft back down for her. We do that part together rather than letting her fiddle with it. The cover is a useful size and she likes having her own space underneath instead of sharing mine. It's not a big long umbrella to find a home for either, which I appreciate. I think she is mainly excited to have something that is hers, but I am happy that it feels like a proper usable umbrella too. A very pleased little girl here.

The beige fabric looks good and the loop handle is a nice change.

Ok, i haven't taken it out in rain yet, only tried opening it indoors, but it opens a lot smoother then the ones i've had before. It seems solid without being bulky. The beige fabric looks good and the loop handle is a nice change. I wasn't sure how a folding umbrella would look in person but this one is quite tidy. Very smart looking thing.

The frame flexes in the wind and has stood up well.

We used to do flowers and he was out delivering, so he needed a reliable umbrella. This has been around for years now and still gets used a lot. We stopped working two years ago but it hasn't been put away. He takes it along just the same. The frame flexes in the wind and has stood up well.

I'm liking this umbrella a lot.

I'm liking this umbrella a lot. Feels solid enough that I should be using it for ages. The sleeve is a little tight so putting it away neatly takes some fiddling but nothing terrible. Everything else works nice. And honestly it just looks kinda cool which is always a bonus for an umbrella

:) The loop handle is a nice finishing touch!

Such a cute pink umbrella, and it feels reasonably solid once opened. I've been comfortable with it in everyday showers and breezy weather. The button has been reliable and makes stepping outside much simpler. My small reservation (a wet blanket moment? :/ ) is the fabric, which feels thinner than I imagined. Not terrible, just more ordinary than the appearance might suggest. Still, it keeps the rain off and gives me shade when I want it. :) The loop handle is a nice finishing touch!

This has finally been worth keeping.

I've spent far too much on umbrellas in Boston over the past year-big ones, little ones, cheap ones and supposedly better ones. This has finally been worth keeping. The price made me hesitate, but once you add up all those earlier purchases it stops looking so expensive...six months with this one and I've been glad of it on plenty of windy rainy days. I've seen people struggling with theirs while mine stayed manageable. For me that is money better spent than going back for another umbrella every month.

Not a deal breaker for me.

It folds up neatly and goes into my bag without much rearranging, which is what I wanted for taking it along. The size when open is fine for me most of the time, although my back catches a few drops if the rain is coming at an angle! Not a deal breaker for me.Also, the pink is a little stronger than I expected. I had imagined something paler, so it isn't quite the shade I had in mind, but I still like it overall.

Kristin Kidd

It has been a big hit with her.

A gift for my daughter, who needed room under an umbrella for herself and the things she takes to teach. This gives her enough cover without being awkward to pack away. She likes that it folds down into something she can keep in her teaching bag ready for wet days! It has been a big hit with her.

Gerald Austin

Not much rain use yet.

Not much rain use yet. I got this to give my son some shade in his sling, since he's still too little for sunscreen. If I'd noticed the automatic feature beforehand I might not have bought it, but I'm glad it's there now: I can open it and fold the canopy with one hand. That's a real help when I've already got a baby to manage.

Brady Hopkins

As for the umbrella...

As for the umbrella... its brilliant. The loop handle feels solid and is comfortable in my hand, which matters more than i expected. It has a really neat look too, not something that feels flimsy when you pick it up. The sleeve is pretty light. I wouldnt shove it around carelessly, but im usually pretty careful with my things so that doesnt worry me much. Opens without a fuss and gives me good cover. Honestly one of my better little purchases.

Cheryl Sanford

Exactly the sort of everyday umbrella I needed.

I've been through quite a few umbrellas over the years. What I wanted this time was something I could bring along every day without thinking about it. This suits that job very well. I wouldn't expect to stay completely dry walking a long way through sideways rain, but for the couple of blocks between home and the subway it is ideal. It folds down small enough for my bag and doesn't feel like a burden to carry. Exactly the sort of everyday umbrella I needed.

Miranda Sanchez

Getting it into the sleeve isn't a wrestling match either.

Living near Seattle means I carry an umbrella on most of my walks, which is pretty much every day. This one has had seven months of that and is still looking remarkably good. It goes in my backpack without taking over the whole thing, yet once it's up I don't feel as though I've brought a tiny emergency umbrella. The button is straightforward, the ribs are all still attached where they should be, and the fabric folds back into place without much fuss. I've had it catch the wind and turn over a few times, because apparently I can't avoid that with any umbrella, but it has gone back to its normal shape and carried on working. Getting it into the sleeve isn't a wrestling match either. Mostly I'm impressed that the little annoying things I expect after regular use just haven't happened. If I misplace it, or eventually wear it out, I'd happily choose the same one again. After going through so many disappointing umbrellas, having one I can just leave in my bag and rely on is a relief.

Jeffrey Hurst

In the end, a lovely umbrella.

I bought this for going out in the rain with my 3 y/o toddler. Opening the parcel I was surprised by how neat it looked folded, and the beige is nice. There was a little new fabric smell at first...not terrible, but I noticed it. I looked it over and left it open to air rather than using it immediately. I was hoping for something that made our rainy walks easier, not another thing to fuss over. A bit later I came back to it and tried the button. That was when I started to like it properly. It opens without me having to wrestle with it and the smell had faded. Closing the canopy is easy too, then I slide the stem down myself. Not difficult once you understand. I hold it for us, it isn't a little umbrella for him to carry himself. He can watch the drops coming off the sides and seems quite happy with that. Could have a little more room when he wanders away from me... In the end, a lovely umbrella. Took a moment to get used to, but nothing that spoils it. Was it worth buying? For me yes...because my child loves being out in the rain and this makes it easier to enjoy that with him. I am glad I kept it.

Evelyn Kelly

For now I have nothing to complain about.

From what I can see the umbrella is of good quality, and what I received is much like what I understood from the description. I have not had rain to try it in yet, but I am satisfied with it so far. If it does as well outside as it looks, I would get the same one when I need another. For now I have nothing to complain about.

Ralph Parker

For something that folds up fairly small it feels quite heavy.

Chicago has that windy nickname for a reason, believe me! Rain is bad enough but put wind with it and getting anywhere becomes a job. After going through cheap umbrellas that couldn't cope, I thought I would pay a little more and try this one. Wasn't completely convinced at first. What changed my mind was being out walking in rain and only really noticing the wind when I looked at everybody else. People were hunched over, holding onto their umbrellas and trying to get along the street! I was carrying this one and walking normally, not doing that whole bent-over struggle. That was a nice surprise and made spending the extra seem worthwhile. Four stars instead of five, why? mainly the weight. For something that folds up fairly small it feels quite heavy. Going to work, shopping, getting around the city, I don't mind it, those are the things I would use it for. Packing for a longer trip is another matter because the weight and the room it takes in your luggage do count. There is a carrying sleeve included which is handy, just doesn't make the umbrella any lighter or make it take less space. For a vacation I would still pack a more lightweight umbrella instead. For the everyday back and forth though this is the one I would choose. A good umbrella, just not something I want adding to my luggage.

Sherri Rhodes

This has been a good balance so far.

Finding something that fits in a bag without feeling flimsy isn't as simple as it sounds. This has been a good balance so far. Handy for carrying around college with a backpack, and the quick push-to-open action is especially nice when you're trying to get covered in a hurry.

Kendra Burton

The coverage and construction both made a good first impression.

The coverage and construction both made a good first impression. With all those ribs supporting the fabric, it feels quite substantial, and the mechanism has a reassuring action. I walk to work and wanted something with useful coverage that didn't look loud or sporty. The beige is understated and suits that purpose well. I've only carried it in light wind so far, where it behaved nicely, so I can't comment on really gusty conditions. It isn't the smallest thing when folded, but I find that a reasonable trade-off for the open size.

Shane Anderson

This has turned out to be a lovely compromise.

I wanted some portable shade, not an enormous golf-sized umbrella that I would leave at home. This has turned out to be a lovely compromise. The blue looks pretty and the whole thing feels properly made, rather than a decorative extra that won't last beyond a sunny afternoon. Small enough to bring along, but useful when it's up. I enjoyed mine enough to send two to friends who also appreciate a little shade outside. I spent far too long looking at the colour pictures before deciding. Blue was the right choice for me, and I hope my friends enjoy theirs as much. The nice thing is that I don't have to carry a long umbrella around after I'm finished using it. That's a fairly ordinary detail, but it makes me much more likely to take it with me. A useful purchase and a little treat at the same time. Delighted!!

Walking is usually my first choice if the distance allows it.

Walking is usually my first choice if the distance allows it. My commute adds up to several miles on foot each day, and I also travel for work, so an umbrella spends a fair amount of time with me. I need something useful in rain, not something that becomes another awkward thing to carry. This one has suited that very well. It has coped with the breezy, wet days I've used it on. I haven't tested it in really fierce weather, so I can't speak for that. The more everyday advantage, though, is that carrying it isn't a chore. Some umbrellas I've owned have felt reassuringly substantial when open and rather less appealing after carrying them for miles. Add a bag of shopping and whatever else needs bringing home, and you do start noticing these things. This feels light enough to bring along without having a debate about whether the forecast really warrants it. The flexible ribs are interesting. There is some give in them, but the open umbrella doesn't feel flimsy to me. It has been a dependable little companion in ordinary rain, which matters more than how impressive anything looks on paper. It also fits into my suitcase without requiring me to rearrange everything around it. For business travel that is a definite plus; I don't want a separate long umbrella to keep track of. At around 105cm across when open, it is a useful personal size rather than a huge shelter. For the daily walk or uncertain weather, I'm quite content with that. If I were planning to spend hours outside in heavy rain, I'd probably want more coverage, but that isn't what I bought a compact umbrella for. Mine is black, which is practical and perfectly presentable for work. My only personal preference would be something brighter on gloomy days, especially walking around city traffic where I like to be noticeable. Nothing wrong with the black, and I'm happy with the umbrella itself, but wouldn't a cheerful colour make a wet walk a little nicer?

Tracy Downs

I really like how it springs open.

First thing I don't understand is why the colours aren't all priced alike? My black one got lost after years of being perfectly reliable, and I went looking for the same again. Black costs more than some of the other choices. So do I go with a cheaper colour, or pay extra for the one I wanted in the first place? Seems a strange thing to be debating.I really like how it springs open. When I'm getting out of the car in rain, a press of the button and there it is, ready before I step out.You press again to fold the canopy, then have to push the shaft right back down by hand before the button will open it again, not just reopen it while the shaft is still out, but that is a little thing considering how sturdy and well put together it feels.I suppose colour shouldn't matter this much for an umbrella but I'm going to spend the extra and get black.

Eduardo Gutierrez

One of the nicest umbrellas I've used.

One of the nicest umbrellas I've used. The frame feels strong but has some flexibility, which seems to help when the wind catches it instead of everything feeling rigid. I've had it out in proper rain and it kept me covered without being difficult to hold. Very impress with the construction. The ribs look well supported all round and the opening action is smooth. Would certainly recommend.

Madeline Mcintyre

More impressed with this umbrella than I expected to be.

More impressed with this umbrella than I expected to be. It feels carefully made and the open size suits me well. A press of the button brings the canopy up, and another press draws it closed. You shorten the stem yourself afterwards, then it goes into its sleeve for storage. The closed oval handle is different from the straight handles I've had before. Being able to clip it onto things is a useful little detail I hadn't really considered.

Martha Cannon

I've used mine several times now and I'm pleased I did.

Umbrellas haven't generally been a good buy for me, so this time I thought I'd spend a little more rather than just grabbing the cheapest. I went through a lot of reviews and found that even the expensive ones had plenty of unhappy comments, which didn't make choosing any easier. These seemed to have enough good experiences behind them that I finally decided to try one. I've used mine several times now and I'm pleased I did. It's reassuring to carry something that feels sturdy instead of wondering whether it will cope with an ordinary shower. Now I just need to avoid loosing it.

Elaine Marsh

Mine kept its shape and I stayed dry.

Funny timing, I had only just received mine when a friend and I ended up walking through windy rain. His umbrella turned itself inside out almost straight away, and watching him try to sort it out did make me laugh. Mine kept its shape and I stayed dry. Eventually he stopped wrestling with his, folded it up and just carried on getting wet. Mine was definitely the easier option.

Ivan Petty

Such a pretty umbrella and it feels properly made too.

Such a pretty umbrella and it feels properly made too. Some little umbrellas I've owned have been a struggle to get open. This one pops up smoothly with a press, and another press gathers the canopy before I push the stem in. Not the cheapest option, but the nicer finish and ease of use make it worth the extra!

Victor Donaldson

The fabric and stitching look as though they should last.

The fabric and stitching look as though they should last. A decent size when open too. I like being able to press a button rather than fuss with a sliding catch, though you do still have to shorten the pole yourself after the canopy closes. That last push takes more pressure than I expected. The loop handle is secure to hold, just a little bulkier than the small handles I'm used to. Nothing wrong with it, just something to consider if you want the tiniest possible umbrella. For the money it makes sense for me, since I have a habit of leaving umbrellas behind.

Damon Huffman

Good quality umbrella, but the size was not what I had pictured.

Good quality umbrella, but the size was not what I had pictured. Open it is about 105cm across, which is fine for me alone, just smaller than I expected when choosing it. I should have paid closer attention to that detail. Happy with how it feels and works, but still a little disappointed about the amount of coverage.

Jerome Gardner

this one has been a much better buy.

bought this for my son in tokyo, where the weather can give an umbrella a workout. he used to get through the inexpensive ones pretty regularly when rain and wind came together. this one has been a much better buy. he's used it through the season and says it feels sturdy, without that constant worry of it turning over. it costs more up front, but replacing cheap umbrellas over and over isn't much of a saving. glad i went with this.

Faith French

This is a comfortable size for me without being awkward to take along.

I'm a woman and wanted more cover than the little umbrellas I usually see aimed at women. This is a comfortable size for me without being awkward to take along. Once folded, it goes in my bag and isn't a long thing to carry around. The gray was deeper than it looked on screen, but that actually suits me better.

Ryan Horne

really lovely color, makes me smile.

the blue is so pretty i almost want to keep it indoors. i expected something delicate and was wondering if i would need to be extra careful, but it feels quite solid already. really lovely color, makes me smile. would be a sweet gift for a little girl i think. the sleeve is handy to have as well. i'm looking forward to taking it out.

Mason Ware

It feels sturdy opened up, not like a flimsy little umbrella.

my girlfriend and i needed an umbrella we could share comfortably (we're both quite slim). With us standing close, it covers both of us and there's a little room beyond our shoulders. It feels sturdy opened up, not like a flimsy little umbrella. Happy with how much room we have, and I would recommend it for a couple built like us.

Brandi Gates

Didn't expect to hang onto an umbrella this long, but here we are.

Didn't expect to hang onto an umbrella this long, but here we are. I don't drag it out every day, maybe once a month at MOST, so bear that in mind. The fabric and all those ribs are still looking good. There's some wear on the sleeve from being carried about, nothing that affects using it. Press the button and up it goes, no messing around trying to get it open while it's raining. Still a BIG fan :D It's not some enormous shelter, but I can get myself and one of my preschool kids underneath if we stick together. We still have fun listening to the rain overhead (apparently that never gets old. Really glad I kept this one around :) would happily buy another!

Mckenzie Logan

Overall, it seems sturdy and reasonably priced.

Rain protection matters more to me than fancy details, and for the money this umbrella does its main job quite well. It dries reasonably quickly, and opening or closing the canopy with the button is smooth and easy. Folded down, it is compact enough for everyday carrying, though not something I'd put in a small pocket. Some of the smaller details are less appealing, particularly when I compare it with other umbrellas I have looked at. First, the carrying sleeve is rather close fitting. Getting it back on is easier if I take a moment to fold the fabric neatly, rather than trying to stuff it away. A roomier case would have suited me better. The oval loop handle isn't especially elegant looking, but I actually find it comfortable in my hand. I tend to value that more than a decorative handle that looks nicer but is awkward to hold. There is a reasonable selection of plain colours. The Beige is quite subdued, which suits everyday use, although I would have liked something with a little more character. That's a matter of taste rather than anything wrong with the umbrella. Overall, it seems sturdy and reasonably priced. It isn't the most stylish umbrella I have seen, and the sleeve needs a bit of patience, but the straightforward operation and useful coverage make it a practical choice.

Luke Bright

a fun looking umbrella, and I like it in photos.

a fun looking umbrella, and I like it in photos. Has a bit of a retro feel when it's open. It's a decent size overhead - but luckily not one of those long umbrellas to carry everywhere afterwards. Folds away for me quite nicely. I love mine...and it was raining on the very day it arrived, so I could try it straight away!

Crystal Petersen

A surprisingly useful bit of kit.

A surprisingly useful bit of kit. It isn't much to carry around, and I find the oval handle pleasant to hold. I had to get used to keeping the canopy facing into the breeze myself instead of letting it catch at an awkward angle. That takes a little more thought when there is a pizza in the other hand and the wind changes. But for normal rain it has done exactly what I wanted. I haven't put it through every possible kind of weather, so this is only based on the use I've had. Getting back into the car is easier with the button: the canopy draws in before I bring it through the doorway. Then I compress the telescoping section by hand to put it away. Quite a lot of convenience for the money, really. Don't throw money away if you want a decent umbrella.

Christy Estes

I chose one for my girlfriend after getting my own.

I chose one for my girlfriend after getting my own. The ribs are flexible and the shaft feels reassuringly solid.I pay attention to that join near the canopy, having had trouble with an older umbrella there. This one feels firmly put together and has behaved well in the rain so far. I don't expect any umbrella to survive everything, but I'd rather have something substantial than flimsy. The button opening is convenient for both of us too.

Paul Mendez

Honestly!

Honestly! This umbrella has stayed with me for five or six years, which must be a record for me. It lives in my bag and has been all over Europe. I'm only thinking of replacing it because it's looking grubby now, not because it stopped working. Really well made! I'd happily choose the same one again.

Ricardo Ortiz

Handy size when folded and easy enough to take along.

Only used it once so far I think, so this is mostly about how it handles. Handy size when folded and easy enough to take along. I would still keep a full length umbrella for days when carrying one isn't an issue, but this is a good option when space matters. The handle suits one hand and the shorter pole does feel different from what I'm used to. Closing caught me a little off guard, the canopy gathers up quite quickly and shakes water off rather than letting you gently bring it in. Now I point it away from people, press the button, then shorten the pole by hand. Nothing difficult about it, just a different routine to get used to.

Lauren Mejia

A smart looking umbrella that keeps me dry as well.

A smart looking umbrella that keeps me dry as well. It seems less prone to turning over than other folding umbrellas I've had, and the loop handle has a nice substantial feel in my hand. The button is a handy extra too. Overall, I'm pleased to have an umbrella that looks as good as it works. :-)

Renee Sloan

I'm quite happy with it as it is.

Really smart looking umbrella and nicely put together. Feels solid too. There is a plain sleeve for storing it. All the stitching looks tidy. The green was just right with my outfit. One person wasn't keen on the handle style, but that's only taste. I'm quite happy with it as it is.

Mark Logan

The button opening and canopy closing are handy.

Mine has worked well on the handful of occasions I've used it. My raincoat has very deep pockets and the folded umbrella sits most of the way into one of them. The button opening and canopy closing are handy.I haven't had it out in much wind, so can't really say how it behaves in that, but it feels reasonably solid.

Ivan Thomas

The button opening is handy when you want cover quickly.

This stayed on my list for nearly a year while I read comments and wondered whether a compact umbrella would be enough. Most of my use is following my daughters golf tournaments. My old umbrella was fine once it was up but carrying it around all afternoon, especially when the sun came and went, was another thing. I noticed a few people on the course with folding umbrellas and started thinking that would suit me better. Eventually it occurred to me that not everybody reviewing an umbrella was using it the way I planned to. I bought this for the summer and am glad I finally did!! The blue is a nice colour and I like the black underneath when I'm standing looking out over the course. Having some shade makes those stretches of waiting much more comfortable. It isn't a huge golf umbrella, which was something I knew going in. For just me it is enough, and I would rather have something I don't mind carrying between holes than a bigger one I leave behind. The button opening is handy when you want cover quickly. Once folded it goes back into its sleeve and takes up much less room than my old one. The only real trade off for me is that smaller spread when the rain comes at an angle. For what I paid, and the amount of time I spend carrying it rather than actually standing under it, I am happy with that. Anyone spending afternoons watching junior golf will probably understand what I mean. One other parent brought up taking umbrellas on planes. I haven't flown with this so can't speak for airline rules, but the folded size certainly makes packing it with the rest of my things less of a puzzle.

Jeanette Bartlett

My friend loved the umbrella.

I had chosen this to take to Ireland as a gift for a friend. The picture made me expect something a little different, but I liked the simple finish when it came. I tried opening it before packing it and it seemed good quality. Time was getting short before my trip so I was glad to have it ready to take. My friend loved the umbrella. It was a useful present and looked nice as well, which was what I wanted. Everything worked out very well.

Samuel Romero

Naturally it happens when the rain is coming down hardest.

Replacing umbrellas seems to have become an annual expense for me. An exposed corner downtown or a walk beside the river is often enough to send an ordinary one inside out, and the ribs don't last long after that. Naturally it happens when the rain is coming down hardest. Spending more seems wasteful if the result is the same, but the flimsy cheap ones aren't much of a saving either. This one feels like a sensible way out of that cycle. It has 30 flexible ribs, and the canopy feels well supported rather than stretched over a few thin spokes. At roughly 105cm across, it gives me good coverage while remaining manageable around other people on the pavement. There is room underneath without constantly bumping into everyone. Folded, it measures about 40cm, which makes carrying it between showers less of a nuisance than a full length umbrella. The oval loop handle sits comfortably in my hand, and pressing the button sends the canopy up promptly. The sleeve also keeps it neatly contained once it has dried. After several wet days of use, I am very happy with how well it has sheltered me. It has felt reassuring in gusts, without needing a wrestling match to keep it facing the right direction. I can't say how many years it will last, but it already feels a good deal more substantial than the umbrellas I keep replacing.

Mindy Francis

I needed something for the rainy season here because it gets tiring.

I needed something for the rainy season here because it gets tiring. The umbrellas before this, never felt very solid, this one feels better.Handle sits good in the hand and the closed loop lets me clip it onto my bag pack. Opened it and closed it a few times and... All working as it should. I like this thing.A proper useful buy

Who says rain has to spoil feeling feminine?

Who says rain has to spoil feeling feminine? A pretty umbrella makes such a difference. This one is simple and lovely, and carrying it gives those dreary days a little lift. I've had so many compliments, and the questions, :"Where did you find your umbrella?" Makes me want to step right over those sidewalk puddles. Still enjoy a little style, by the way I'm 66.

Alison Potter

A little vain maybe but I'm happy with how it looks.

ok so I care what my umbrella looks like, probably more than I should....but why carry something dull when you're already stuck in gloomy weather. The cream white looks really pretty with my clothes and I feel a bit more dressed up carrying it. Looks slightly delicate, so I wouldn't call it my choice for rough weather, but I'm not usually out for ages in the rain anyhow. For my short walks it's been fine. U might want something more plain and practical, I wanted cute and this makes me smile! I dn't need some enormous serious umbrella just to get where I'm going. The button is a nice extra too, although honestly the look was what sold me. A little vain maybe but I'm happy with how it looks.
