strong little umbrella for real.

strong little umbrella for real. i like it a lot. the loop handle looks different and people notice it when i have it out. i dont use the sleeve much i am too lazy to fold it neat but thats on me. umbrella itself is what matters. had it since last year and its still going good. my lil bro always wants a go with it hahahha . he likes the button i think. i keep telling him its just an umbrella. any way it feels solid and does the rain job fine. not some flimsy thing u carry for nothing. i would say yes to this one. no worries from me

The handle is a closed oval loop, rather than an open hook.

The button opens the canopy automatically and closes it again. Closing does not shorten the telescoping shaft; that is pushed back down by hand. The handle is a closed oval loop, rather than an open hook. With 30 flexible ribs supporting the canopy, the umbrella feels solid in use and folds to a compact shape for carrying.

Another nice thing is that carrying it hasn't turned into a chore.

There is enough room under this umbrella for me to stay comfortably dry, and it is not awkward to manage when the weather gets breezy. The canopy feels well supported rather than loose and flappy. I thought it would mainly be useful for walks, but it has been particularly handy for persuading our dogs to go outside when it is wet. At night they can be very unwilling to leave the doorway, and being able to stand there without getting soaked makes the whole business less of a struggle. They can stay close while I encourage them out, though it is a compact umbrella rather than shelter for all of us. Another nice thing is that carrying it hasn't turned into a chore. Looking at the amount of support under the canopy, I thought it might feel cumbersome, but I can manage it with one hand without much effort. A press of the button opens it straight away, so there isn't that awkward moment of trying to push everything into place while the rain is coming down. What I appreciate most is being able to carry on with a rainy walk instead of constantly adjusting my grip or worrying about the umbrella. The flexible ribs allow a little movement without it feeling flimsy. It folds into a manageable size afterwards too. For the ordinary wet weather we get, it has been a very useful thing to have.

For the money it has been a very good buy.

Living in Manhattan, you end up thinking more about umbrellas than you'd expect. I wanted one that felt worth carrying, and this has been a good choice. Covers my hair properly in rain and feels secure in a breeze, as well as looking smart. People have actually asked where I found it while I've been walking around. For the money it has been a very good buy.

Back buying the same umbrella AGAIN.

Back buying the same umbrella AGAIN. Nothing wrong with the first one or with the seller. What happened? Someone decided to take mine, thats what. lol. Why would they? Probably liked the look as much as I did. It's a good umbrella so I wanted another just like it. Looked around at prices and this was reasonable, glad I could find it again. Would order it again, but hopefully people leaves this one alone!!

I'm very happy with how it's performed.

Rainy days in Northern California have kept this busy already. I've taken it out several times today and it's done a good job in the wind and rain.No fuss opening it either. It's also come along for San Francisco showers, rainy Midwest trips and London weather this year. Still feels well put together.I'm very happy with how it's performed.

Nice to have decent coverage without a full-length umbrella to carry.

Nice to have decent coverage without a full-length umbrella to carry. I expected it to stay quite long when folded, but it packs down well. The pink is a little softer than I pictured and I like it. Best part for me is the closing button. It gathers the canopy, then you push the telescoping section down yourself to finish putting it away. Doesn't pull the whole thing into the handle, just saves you wrestling with the top. Very handy getting through a doorway while carrying a child. I've liked mine enough to get one for my husband too.

A nice umbrella overall.

A nice umbrella overall. The frame seems strong and the button makes opening it easy. You can shut the canopy with it too, though the stem still needs to be pushed down by hand. It gives good cover for one person and the shade underneath is welcome. It doesn't slip into a small purse as easily as I expected, so check the folded size rather than assuming it'll go anywhere.Update: Took it along on my trip to the Yucatan and used it for both shade and rain. Definitely glad I packed it. Still wish it were a little shorter folded.Update again: I'm used to carrying it now, but I'd keep that size point in mind. A useful umbrella all the same!

My daughter asked for an umbrella with plenty of cover - I thought this might suit. When it was opened I went - WOW - more room than I expected from something that folds up - and she decided straight away to keep it.It isn't one of those long umbrellas but feels manageable to carry and looks nice,I think we did well for the money.

Lindsay Chang

Happy to recommend it.

Feels much more substantial than the umbrellas I've had before. It does fold down, though it still takes up a bit more room than the really tiny ones, so there is a trade off. I'd rather have that solid feel when it gets windy. The button opens it smoothly and there is a useful amount of cover. Happy to recommend it.

SO PLEASED WITH THIS UMBRELLA.

SO PLEASED WITH THIS UMBRELLA. It feels solid rather than flimsy, which is what I wanted. I wasn't sure about the black underneath at first, as I'd pictured gray on both sides. Honestly once it's above your head you hardly think about that. Looks good, works well, and I'm really happy with it!!

An update after a few uses.

An update after a few uses. Taking this umbrella out for the first time, I could tell it was a solid little thing and not flimsy. It has now been out with me in several downpours and the cover is a good size for keeping me dry. There have been some gusts too. I kept expecting it to flip over, but the ribs have some give and it has stayed steady for me. For what I paid I think it is a good buy, even if getting the sleeve back on is more trouble than I care for. Having used it more, I am less nervous about the frame than I was at first. It doesn't have that fragile feeling some folding umbrellas have. The sleeve is another matter, not because there is anything wrong with it, but because I (personally) have little patience for getting all the folds lined up. You may manage it much better. I leave that aside until I have time to fold everything neatly, otherwise I'm just making work for myself. Still glad I spent the money on this one. The umbrella itself is sturdy, the button is handy, and that is what I wanted it for in the first place. With the amount of cover it gives I consider the cost reasonable. It seems the money has gone into the umbrella rather than just making it look nice, sleeve fuss aside. One thing to bear in mind is that folded does not mean tiny. It is about 40cm long when packed away, so check the space you want to carry it in rather than expecting a little pocket umbrella.

It opens with a nice smooth action and the frame seems solid.

Of all the umbrellas I have owned, this is probably my favourite. Living in Florida means I have had plenty of chances to find out which ones are any good. It opens with a nice smooth action and the frame seems solid. Whether it lasts for years is something I obviously can't say yet. The closed oval handle gives it a distinctive look without being fussy. In practical terms it has kept me dry, and I appreciate something that looks a little different as well.

Nicolas Mcdaniel

Nice looking umbrella, makes being out on a miserable day a bit…

Nice looking umbrella, makes being out on a miserable day a bit less miserable. Its roomy enough for me, or a mom with a child tucked in close, without crowding everyone nearby. Folds into a sensible size too, so I can put it in my tote instead of carrying it around separately.

Still going nicely and keeping her dry!!

I chose this for my eight year old daughter to replace her little puppy umbrella. She has already twirled it about, opened and shut it over and over, and taken it to school. Still going nicely and keeping her dry!! It's a bit long for her backpack, but she likes carrying it anyway. The frame seems much more substantial than the old one. Hopefully this will be the umbrella that sees her through more than a few rainy weeks.

Ruth Mayo

Such a cute umbrella and it feels well put together.

Such a cute umbrella and it feels well put together. The handle is rather large for my 18 month old son, so I'm the one holding it for now. He is fascinated by my umbrella and I hoped this would distract him. He still wants mine, but I'm happy to have this one too.

Alice Mcmahon

It has been excellent in ordinary rain.

My last umbrella met its end under somebody's shoe on the subway. It snapped, and its destroyer was through the doors before I got even an apology. That left me shopping for another one. After spotting this online and doing the usual review reading, I decided to give it a go. There is a reassuring solidity to it, without that flimsy feeling I associate with umbrellas bought in a hurry. It has been excellent in ordinary rain. My only hesitation would be taking it out and expecting miracles in a really strong wind. The handle had looked a little questionable to me in pictures. In person the oval loop is much more substantial than I'd expected, and I find it comfortable to carry. Obviously I wouldn't use it to shove my way into a packed carriage...I'd quite like this umbrella to last. =) What I hadn't expected was people asking about it. The handle seems to catch their eye and suddenly we're discussing umbrellas instead of staring at the floor. I rather enjoy that, though it won't appeal to everyone. If keeping entirely to yourself on the train is important, bear that in mind. For me it's a useful replacement that has also supplied a few friendly conversations, and I'm glad I chose it.

Easy to carry in my bag

Easy to carry in my bag; folded it is a manageable size. I expected a smaller canopy for the money, but opened out it gives proper everyday coverage. The fabric feels quite substantial and it makes a nice bit of shade in the sun. Mine arrived after eight days, and I would buy another.

Monica Maddox

Still glad to have it when I need some shade.

...and for someone with albinism, that shade is very welcome! There's a noticeable difference standing underneath it compared with being in direct sun. I haven't put it through windy weather yet, so that part remains to be seen. Why four stars? It has a bit of weight to it, and the opening button wants a firmer press than my arthritic hands would choose. Fine for occasional use, but carrying and operating it all day could be tiring for me. Still glad to have it when I need some shade.

Tami Espinoza

This has been a good choice.

After losing my last cheapy umbrella to the wind, I wanted something that felt a bit more substantial this time. Didn't want the tiniest folding one either, since I actually want some cover. This has been a good choice. The ribs have some give to them rather than feeling like stiff little wires, which I like. I'm not going out looking for a gale to try it in, but for the breezy rain I've had so far it's been fine. Much happier with this than the bargain ones.

Jesse Pugh

- Build: Seems solid.

For getting around the city, this is the sort of umbrella I wanted. Looks respectable and actually does a decent job.- Build: Seems solid. I've had it out on windy days and it handled them fine, though I wouldn't treat any compact umbrella as storm equipment.- Looks: Understated, with an oval handle that gives it a bit of character. More expensive looking than the price suggests. People have noticed it.- Price: Sensible enough that I can actually take it out, instead of worrying all evening about leaving an expensive umbrella behind somewhere.

Kristine Evans

I'd happily recommend it to anyone wanting an everyday umbrella.

The gray has a quiet, tidy look that I enjoy even on gloomy days. More importantly, this has been a dependable umbrella over several years of use. It's come through windy weather and heavy showers without giving me any trouble. Still opens well and looks good. I'd happily recommend it to anyone wanting an everyday umbrella.

Kristi Crane

Just doesn't feel like a heavy duty umbrella.

Automatic folding umbrellaI got this a few days ago. It's reasonably easy to carry, but not as small as I imagined. The canopy is roughly 105cm wide. Opening is quick, and the button closes the fabric part. You do still have to shorten the pole by hand.I'm not convinced it would be my choice for really windy weather, though ordinary rain has been fine. Just doesn't feel like a heavy duty umbrella. Seems expensive as well. Not terrible, not amazing either. Other then that it has done what I needed so far. Kept the rain off...

Gabriel Waters

My wife is surprisingly fond of her umbrella.

My wife is surprisingly fond of her umbrella. She actually looks forward to a bit of rain now, just for an excuse to use it. She's quite small and gets plenty of cover over her head and shoulders, which means her hair stays dry and that is the main thing! She likes the plain black too; she's never been keen on fussy patterns on everyday things. The button is handy when she's juggling what she's carrying, rather than having to pull a canopy open.Anyway, she thinks it's a touch bulky in her bag even folded, but says carrying a little extra is preferable to arriving with wet hair. On that basis it's been a great choice for her.

Christian Conrad

Once I had it here and opened it, the build felt surprisingly solid.

With such a low price I was ready to send it back if it wasn't any good. Once I had it here and opened it, the build felt surprisingly solid. It folds down small enough to put away easily, yet opens out with plenty of coverage, so I can see myself using this a lot!!!

Morgan Shea

I'm allergic to sunscreen lotions so I use an umbrella for shade.

where I live summer can get up to 120 degrees farenheit, sometimes more. I'm allergic to sunscreen lotions so I use an umbrella for shade. This one opens wide enough to share with somebody standing close and gives me a nice patch of shadow. It is about 40cm long when folded

Jesse Collins

Such a lovely umbrella and just the sort of thing I had in mind.

Such a lovely umbrella and just the sort of thing I had in mind. The design has a little something different about it which I really enjoy, and for anyone who doesn't want the same looking thing everybody seems to carry I would say have a look at this. I'm delighted to own it and enjoy taking it along.

Kristin Duran

Has a sturdy feel and a bit of weight to it.

It opens up much bigger than I expected from the folded size. Has a sturdy feel and a bit of weight to it. The loop handle looks very smart. Plenty of coverage for me without feeling cramped underneath. We happy with the choice. Hope to get years of use from it.

Erin Schroeder

A nice compact umbrella!

I'm getting a second one like this. The first has been good in the rain and the flexible ribs seem quite substantial... A nice compact umbrella! Having another means I won't have to keep moving the same one about. I especially like that it doesn't weigh much or take a lot of space when folded. For me those are the things that make it worth taking along. The purchase was easy & delivery was quicker than I expected!

Wesley Mullins

Smell is gone and itlooks lovely now.

Did have a strong new smell when we unwrapped it, but aswe had time before our granddaughters birthday we left it open to air and gave it a wipe. Smell is gone and itlooks lovely now. She hasn't had it yet but I think she's going to be very happy when she sees it.

Randall Estes

This little umbrella has earned its place in my car.

This little umbrella has earned its place in my car. It looks smart and the price seemed fair, and it slides into the pocket behind the driver's seat. Opened out there's plenty of cover for just me. The button opens it and also gathers the canopy, then you push the telescoping section down yourself.Simple enough once you've done it. My only grumble is the sleeve. You have to get the fabric folded JUST right before it'll go back in, and I don't always have the patience for that. Not quite irritating enough to lose a star, but close.Overall it's a handy umbrella to leave in the car, or at work so you're not caught without one.

Malik Espinoza

Picked this up for my five year old niece to take to school.

Picked this up for my five year old niece to take to school. She thinks it looks beautiful and very grown up. The button makes opening simple, her mom resets the stem afterwards. Its a good size for her to hold, now to convince her the living room doesn't need an umbrella!

Jasmin Lyons

What a lovely umbrella this turned out to be.

What a lovely umbrella this turned out to be. The pink looks a little different from the pictures, in a good way, and it's prettier out in daylight. There's plenty of room over my head without having to carry a great big golf umbrella around. Opening it takes just a press, and it feels solid without being a burden to hold. Would definitely recommend it!

Christina Lawrence

Pros: Enough coverage for me

Had it for months.Put it aside for a bit.Using it again. Pros: Enough coverage for me Convenient button Compact folded Cons: Can drop water on you if you close it above your head (more my fault than anything) A bit chunky in the sleeve Additional Notes:The button shuts the canopy, then the shaft needs pushing down by hand. Took me a little while to get that routine, but it's straightforward now. After a break from using it I found I still liked it just fine. Already had another one by then, so that went to my dad. I'm keeping this one in use.

Brendan Ferguson

Lovely neat finish to it.

Lovely neat finish to it. The frame seemed solid too. Ours was for a wedding shoot and probably won't come out again unless we lend it to somebody. I think the next couple will be very very pleased with it as well, both for the look and for how substantial it feels.

Deborah Schaefer

Overall I'm happy with what I got.

I chose a used one to save a few dollars rather than paying the full price. There were light marks, but that was about what I expected buying used. The pink was what caught my eye when I was looking at umbrellas, and I was glad to find a folding one in that colour. It still looks nice opened up. Folded, it is easier to take along than a full length umbrella, although I wouldn't expect to tuck it into every little purse. Overall I'm happy with what I got.

Charlotte Peterson

I chose the Haven in green and am very happy I went with it.

I chose the Haven in green and am very happy I went with it.It arrived neatly packed, with a sleeve to put it away in. It has a substantial look without looking clumsy, quite smart actually. The sleeve itself is nothing special. It's a snug fit and takes a bit of fiddling to get off, so that part could be easier. Opened out, there's plenty of coverage for one large person, or two standing close together. The frame feels strong and the flexible ribs seem well suited to the gusts that can catch an umbrella. Pressing the button opens it right out from its folded position. Another press brings the canopy in, and you then push the telescoping shaft back down yourself. Both button functions work well. Folded, it's shorter than the usual full length umbrella. It isn't a tiny little thing, but considering how much coverage you get I think the packed size is good. Easy enough to carry about or find a place for. The bit I'd alter most is the handle. The closed oval loop feels solid, but the grip is short and doesn't quite fill my hand comfortably. It doesn't feel weak, just not as reassuring to hold as I'd like. That aside, I'm very pleased with the umbrella overall. Good points - * Smart appearance * Sleeve included * Room for two if you're close * A firm feeling frame * Manageable folded size * Button opening and canopy closing Not so good - * Sleeve is rather snug * Short grip on the handle

Kyle Hughes

I'd certainly recommend it.

This umbrella is adorable and feels much better put together than several of the children's umbrellas we've had before. It feels like an actual useful umbrella rather than something just for playing with. I'd certainly recommend it. We sent it to our nephew as a gift and had a photo back almost immediately - he was sooooo excited he couldn't wait to show it off!

Kaylee Powell

This umbrella has had plenty of use and I still love it!

This umbrella has had plenty of use and I still love it! We get rain so often, and it has always kept me dry! I liked it enough to get another for my sister!! The cream white looks lovely, and opening it with one press is so handy when you're heading outside! A purchase I'm glad I made!

Lacey Roach

ive had my eye on these for ages.

ive had my eye on these for ages. kept putting it off until my GF and i ended up using a flimsy umbrella at an outdoor event. that pretty much settled it for me, it was no fun trying to stay dry under that thing. ordered a pair of these afterwards and im glad i finally did!

Jared Shannon

Definitely convenient to carry around!

Definitely convenient to carry around! It slips into my usual bag without much fuss, although it's not one of those tiny umbrellas you can lose in a pocket. Opened up it covers me reasonably well, but a little rain can still catch my back when it's blowing about.I can live with a few drops! The green isn't quite the soft minty shade I'd pictured, either. More of a straightforward green to my eyes, so not exactly the look I wanted, but I still like using it.

Deborah Mueller

Of course it still catches the wind.

Opened out, this umbrella gives me a decent amount of room. Previous umbrellas have been fine until a gust came along, and then I'd be trying to straighten them out. The ribs here have some flexibility, which seems more sensible than something completely rigid. Of course it still catches the wind. It's an umbrella. Pressing the button to open it is very convenient. Up it goes, without having to fight with a little catch. Nice! Another press folds the canopy in, then you shorten the stem yourself. After a couple of goes, putting it away was straightforward. Getting the folded fabric neatly into the sleeve took me a little longer. Not difficult exactly, just one of those things where my first attempt was less tidy than the next one. It's nice having it covered when it's put away. For the coverage it gives, the weight seems reasonable. I haven't put it on a scale, but holding it overhead doesn't feel like much of a job. It folds into a manageable size too. Overall it seems solid, not like something I'll have to replace after a few outings. I'm happy with it so far. ______________ UPDATE: A recent storm gave me a better test than opening it indoors. Rain was coming across at an angle and there were some quite sharp gusts. It kept me dry, although I definitely knew when the wind caught it. The canopy flexed and settled back, and afterwards everything folded away normally. I was pleased with how it handled that. I'd change my first assessment a little where size is concerned. Compact when put away doesn't mean there's no pull on your arm when it's open in bad weather. Looking along the train platform, people with broader umbrellas were having to pay more attention to their grip than those with little ones. This isn't an enormous umbrella, but there's still a fair bit of fabric for the wind to catch. So I'd choose according to what you can comfortably hold, rather than just going for the most coverage. For me it's a good balance.

Danny Garrett

Worth noting that the handle is a closed oval loop, not a hook.

Initially the delivery estimate made it sound like I would be waiting for ages, but it turned up in about ten days. That was a pleasant surprise (better than months, anyway). I didn't know much about the maker when ordering, so I was mostly going by the photos. In person it feels sturdier than I expected, although I haven't taken it out in really windy weather. The pink looks close to the picture, with the usual difference between a screen and real life. Worth noting that the handle is a closed oval loop, not a hook. Opening it and closing the canopy with the button has been very easy.

Loretta Merritt

Opening is smooth and the canopy sits neatly when it's up.

After a few (fairly pricey) umbrellas that didn't last very long, this one feels encouragingly solid. The frame looks carefully assembled and the flexible ribs don't have that flimsy feel I dislike. Opening is smooth and the canopy sits neatly when it's up. Time will be the real test, of course, but my first impression is that this should see me through quite a few rainy seasons.

Tammie Petty

works well, But I wouldn't take it out in strong wind.

Plenty of cover for me. works well, But I wouldn't take it out in strong wind. I use it while deer hunting in PA, holding it over me when I'm waiting. Not the heaviest umbrella, which is fine for carrying. Keeps the rain off nicely and folds away when I move on.

Harry Levy

Really pleased with these umbrellas.

Really pleased with these umbrellas. They look smart and have more cover than the little ones my kids had before. Their school bags get a bit of shelter too when they're walking in the rain. So far they have stood up to being used, and thats saying something with my children. We got a good year out of the previous umbrellas, so I'm hoping these do as well. the button opening is easy and I help with packing them away.

Tracey Newman

Such a nice looking little umbrella.

Such a nice looking little umbrella. There hasn't actually been much rain since I got it, so I haven't had as many chances to use it as I imagined. And on the days it does rain I sometimes forget to take it. The beige outside with the black underneath has a simple, rather pleasing look, especially on a dreary day. It seems a decent everyday umbrella rather than something for a serious storm. I enjoy the loop handle too, which makes the design a bit different without being fussy. Nice to have an ordinary useful thing that someone has given a little thought to.

Sierra Solis

When I finally needed it, the rain came with a fair bit of wind.

When I finally needed it, the rain came with a fair bit of wind. It coped better than I'd expected. I'd have liked a touch more canopy width and more room to grip the handle (why I've taken a star off), but it was comfortable enough to use and worth the money to me.

Andres Ramsey

For the rain I've had it has done fine.

So far this has only come out with me two or three times, and none of those were in a real downpour. For the rain I've had it has done fine. Nothing complicated about using it, the button works easily and the whole thing seems put together well. I haven't had a chance to find out what it's like when the weather gets rougher, so I can't say much about that part yet. From what I've seen so far I'm expecting it to hold up.

Jonathan Davidson

Sensible size and a quick opening action make this worth carrying.

Sensible size and a quick opening action make this worth carrying. Why keep buying the cheapest thing only to wish you'd spent a little more? The oval loop handle lets me clip it onto a belt loop while it's folded, useful when there's no bag along and I want my hands free. Take a little cover OR take your chances with the weather. Your choice.
