Friends have commented on how nice it looks, too.

The rain lately has given me plenty of opportunity to use this, and the pink is quite cheerful on a dreary day. Friends have commented on how nice it looks, too. It feels substantial and the coverage is generous. Sometimes rather too generous when I am trying to get through a doorway without getting either myself or everything I am carrying wet. (There is probably a technique for doing this gracefully, but I have not mastered holding my things, dealing with the door and closing an umbrella all at once.) The button does bring the canopy in quickly, although the shaft still needs pushing back down by hand. How small it becomes compared with its open size is something I had not really considered before using it. It is easier to put aside afterward than a long umbrella. The closed oval handle is comfortable enough to hold, including with damp hands, but I am still not entirely decided about that shape versus a curved handle. I rather like being able to hook an umbrella over my arm when I need both hands, and this is not quite the same arrangement. The sleeve is useful for putting it away dry. What I would still like is a neater way of dealing with the dripping canopy immediately after coming indoors. That is not unique to this one, but it is the little inconvenience I notice most.

Been meaning to write something about this umbrella for ages and finally doing it so that's good.Have carried it across the big parking lot to work more times than I can count. Between the buildings the breeze gets going and on rainy mornings that walk is no fun. This brelly has kept me covered without being a nuisance to carry once I'm indoors. I just keep it handy and get on with my walk, very glad to have it!

I would certainly recommend it.

After replacing too many bargain folding umbrellas, I decided it was worth choosing one a little more carefully. I didn't find much I liked in the local shops, so I went looking online. The pink caught my eye, but the size and construction are what have made me happy with it. There is comfortable room for me underneath, with enough space to squeeze someone else in if necessary. I wouldn't choose it specifically for two people, though. The whole thing seems solid (none of the problems I had been worrying about from reading reviews have turned up). It opens with a smooth, firm action, and collapsing the canopy with the button is easy as well. Rain beads up on the fabric rather than soaking through. The pink adds some cheer without being fussy, and the closed loop gives me a secure grip when carrying it. It is nice to have something practical that also looks attractive. I would certainly recommend it.

For the money I think its a good umbrella, would get another.

I've actually never had my own umbrella till this, believe it or not.Haven't needed one much here in California. Its put together nicely and is about 105cm across opened up.The 30 flexible ribs look well made and it opens without any fuss. For the money I think its a good umbrella, would get another.Very pleased with it.I reckon most people will be too.

A great little umbrella.

A great little umbrella. I'd wanted one that looked nice but still felt sturdy, and this fits that nicely. It's kept me dry and has been fine in light breezes too. Even had strangers comment on it in the street. Would recommend to anyone after a nice looking everyday umbrella!

Overall, a good purchase with just that small personal reservation.

Both of the umbrellas I bought have been working nicely, and I think they are well made. I particularly appreciate being able to open one quickly with the button. My only reservation is the blue, which is a bit brighter than I had imagined from looking at it online. There is nothing wrong with the colour, it just isn't quite the quiet shade I would normally choose for myself. My wife likes it more than I do, so she will have one of them. That is a matter of taste rather than a problem with the umbrella. The folding size is useful and the cover is generous once it is open. Overall, a good purchase with just that small personal reservation.

The construction on this umbrella has impressed me.

The construction on this umbrella has impressed me. It feels solid in the hand and opens to a useful size. I've only needed it three times, so I can't say how it will look after years of use, but the fabric and framework give me confidence. It has a little heft rather than feeling flimsy, which I like. Folded, it goes neatly into my computer case and is easy to bring along daily. For my needs it has been an excellent purchase.

Beside being useful in the rain, this pink umbrella gets noticed.

Beside being useful in the rain, this pink umbrella gets noticed. People often comment on it when I'm out. I had an umbrella years ago that attracted the same sort of interest and missed it once it wore out. It took a while to find another I liked as much. Now I'm being stopped again and asked where mine came from. A nice umbrella to use and a bit of a conversation piece as well.

Happy with how it all turned out.

From the picture I wasn't sure how small it would be when folded. I wanted to take it to Ireland for a friend, and needed something I could pack easily. I asked customer service about it and they were really helpful. Time was getting short before I left, but it arrived with enough time to get it into my bag. It was a manageable size after all, and felt like good quality when I tried it. My friend loved the umbrella. Happy with how it all turned out.

A good umbrella!

A good umbrella! The loop handle sits comfortably in the hand! The flexible ribs give a little when a breeze catches it, and settle back into shape! Fabric feels quite substantial, with a black underside! Very straightforward to get the canopy open with just a press of the button!

Tracie Castro

Compact, sturdy, straightforward.

Compact, sturdy, straightforward. It keeps the rain off and has coped nicely with the breezes I've used it in. Coverage isn't enormous, so bear that in mind if you're after something for sharing. For carrying around, though, this is a terrific little umbrella!

Jay Wilcox

A handy umbrella for our rainy walks.

The kids are enjoying this blue umbrella. It gives them good cover in the rain and they like pressing the button to raise the canopy and fold it down. I help shorten it afterwards, but they can manage the button themselves. A handy umbrella for our rainy walks.

An excellent change in arrangements.

At first the morning merely breathed dampness at him. A little mist, a few drops, nothing worth admitting defeat over. Then the sky became less subtle. Water rattled against the pavement and began finding its way down his collar, while he stood there holding the very thing that could have prevented this. A heroic beginning, if not an intelligent one. He drew the umbrella from its sleeve with the solemn purpose of a swordsman accepting a challenge. The effect was slightly spoiled by the fact that no swordsmanship was required. One press of the button and the canopy sprang open above him. The rain continued its assault, but suddenly it was making noise over his head instead of running down his neck. An excellent change in arrangements. He squared his shoulders. Beneath this portable roof he felt considerably more important than a damp man on a pavement had any right to feel. Somewhere in the distance came a rumble. In the epic already composing itself inside his head, this was the sky expressing outrage at his continued dryness. Naturally, the imaginary version included lightning curling around an invincible champion. The actual umbrella made no such promises, and neither did he. Thunder belonged to the category of things best admired from proper shelter. Still, for the rain immediately at hand, his little fortress was proving a very satisfactory fortress indeed. A gust gave the canopy a tug. He adjusted his grip on the closed oval handle and carried on, the flexible ribs moving with the umbrella rather than making the whole thing feel like a rigid sail. There was no grand struggle. This was almost disappointing. His internal narrator had prepared several impressive sentences about courage. So the narrator supplied a flight instead. In his imagination his feet left the ground, the umbrella lifting him towards the clouds with magnificent disregard for gravity. In reality his shoes remained on the pavement. The handle was comfortable, though, which seemed a reasonable foundation for this entirely unreasonable aerial adventure. His imagined ascent ended with a triumphant poke at the offending cloud. It collapsed like an overinflated villain, surrendering the sun. Outside his imagination, the shower was simply easing, and daylight was spreading across the wet ground. Less dramatic, perhaps, but the result was welcome all the same. He walked on, dry under the canopy and thoroughly satisfied with his umbrella. His thoughts continued upwards without him. By the time he reached the end of the pavement, his imaginary self had landed on the moon and been welcomed by the entire lunar population. They recognised excellent rain equipment when they saw it, despite having rather limited need of it.

My daughters Christmas wishes included an umbrella and I did wonder why that was on there. Then I remembered she works full time and parks outdoors at her job, with a walk between the car and the building. It's quite sensible to want something to keep her dry on that bit of the journey, after all. Now she only needs to remember to leave it where she can grab it from her seat instead of putting it away in the trunk.

My granddaughter came to stay for part of the summer, she's six, and we were planning days out with rain forecast. I ordered this online because blue is her favorite and it looked like something she'd enjoy. She finds the button easy to use and has been so pleased with her umbrella, nice to have it ready for our outings

The button is handy for putting the canopy up and bringing it down

I bought this because I wanted a reasonably priced umbrella that looked a little nicer than a plain emergency one. A lot of the ones I looked at seemed either flimsy or more than I wanted to spend, so this was a nice find. The fabric looks good and the frame feels solid, although I haven't had a chance to judge it in really rough weather. Opened out, it gives me a generous amount of cover and another person can squeeze in close. The button is handy for putting the canopy up and bringing it down; the shaft still needs pushing back by hand. My only "issue" is that getting the folded umbrella neatly into its sleeve can be a little slow. That aside, people have commented on how nice it looks and the beige works with nearly everything I wear. Practical and pretty, which is what I wanted.

A sturdy umbrella in a compact package...very handy to have around. The canopy gives me decent cover, yet it folds away neatly. It's a little heavier than I expected but the button makes opening simple. Had to order another because my husband was always walking off with mine!

Small thing maybe, but with such a noticeable handle you do notice.

A bit more detail about the finish would have helped, especially close up pictures rather than just the umbrella opened out. My son picked it from the photos, now having it here I think we were expecting something a little smarter. The beige looks fine but the loop handle has quite a plain finish, not the more substantial looking handle I thought I was seeing. I expected it to feel smoother around the inside as well, it isn't uncomfortable just not particularly nice feeling. Small thing maybe, but with such a noticeable handle you do notice. From a distance the whole thing looks better, which explains why the pictures appealed. The sleeve is the next bit, it fits but you have to gather the folds fairly neatly before putting it away. Trying to stuff it straight in without tidying it up first is a fiddle. Nothing wrong with the sleeve itself, I just wanted putting it away to be less of a job. Also the oval loop is closed, there isn't much room for a larger hand if you want to hold it through the middle rather than around it. As an actual umbrella though it does its job well, the canopy gives decent cover and opens easily with the button. The ribs have some give rather than feeling stiff. So useful for the rain, just the finish and packing away side not what I had pictured.

Finding this was such a pleasure.

This is such a Beautiful Umbrella and it came carefully packed, looking absolutely perfect. You really have to see it opened up to appreciate it!! I bought one and was so happy with it that about six months later I came back for another!!!!I'd first noticed one at a show in Los Angeles and the look of it just stayed with me. Finding this was such a pleasure. The shape is simple but so lovely, and the whole umbrella has that neat finished look I was hoping for. Both of mine were packed with care and I appreciated not having to worry about them getting knocked about. Thank you for putting care into a little everyday thing, it really does make a difference

Gilbert Howe

It arrived well packed and in good condition.

I ordered this to replace my old umbrella before more wet weather. It arrived well packed and in good condition. Used it in breezy rain today and came home dry. It looks smart, and the oval loop handle feels secure to hold. It is a little larger folded than I expected, but overall I am satisfied with the quality for the price.

Sonya Barton

I do like the coverage and it keeps the rain off!

Please know what automatic means here!!! I read open and close and had it in my head that one press would make the entire umbrella small again. It doesn't work that way, the canopy closes with the button and then you push the shaft down yourself. That's the normal way it works, but i wish I had understood that before buying. I do like the coverage and it keeps the rain off! it's just the extra step that bugs me when I want to put it away. Not a terrible umbrella, just not quite the quick one-step convenience I had pictured from reading that description.

Sean Beasley

The quality is excellent

A friend wanted an umbrella with automatic opening and a handle that wasn't just a little straight grip, so this made a great gift. She likes the oval loop and finds the coverage useful when she's carrying her work cases. The quality is excellent; I had high hopes and it still impressed me. For someone after this sort of umbrella, I'd certainly recommend it.

The space underneath is just less than I had pictured.

We ordered 2 and they do feel well made, I really like how the button works. The space underneath is just less than I had pictured. Seeing about 105cm for the open size made me think there would be loads of room, but standing under it feels more like a normal one person umbrella. It covers me fine, I just prefer extra space rather than having the rain so close around the edges. I'll keep using it, but next time I would look for something bigger. Clearly what I call compact and what I want are two different things lol.

Good sturdy feel to it, and it has coped well with rain and blustery days. I get enough coverage that my shoulders aren't left getting wet round the sides. Folds down to put in a work bag or backpack, and it's handy to leave in the car too.I would recommend it for anyone wanting a straightforward umbrella without a lot of fuss.

Patrick Forbes

My one little gripe is the contrast underneath.

Up till now my umbrella budget was about five dollars, which probably tells you what sort I was carrying. Decided a fancy man like me ought to have something a bit more presentable - so I went for beige. Very glad I did. It feels properly made and opens with much more confidence than the cheap things I used to pick up. I also like the loop handle, unusual but comfortable once you're holding it. My one little gripe is the contrast underneath. The black underside is practical enough, I suppose, but I would have preferred the whole thing to have that same lighter, dressier look. That's just me being fussy about appearances, not a problem with using it. If the handle looked a little more traditional it would suit my taste perfectly - still, an excellent umbrella and one I'd recommend.

Sergio Love

This has felt solid in the rain so far.

Needed something sturdy for taking the dogs out. I've been through plenty of umbrellas, little ones and bigger ones, and never felt they were much use for long. This has felt solid in the rain so far. There is enough canopy that I'm not constantly shifting it about to keep my shoulders and back covered.

"(at least when the rain comes back...

Ooooh! Umbrella excitement!I'm thinking about sweets every time I take it out, which is a strange little bonus LOL.Decently made too,not some flimsy thing pretending to be useful.I haven't had many rainy outings with it yet,but it's already earned a few smiles and compliments.People ALWAYS want to know where I found it,and I say,"Online, naturally!"(at least when the rain comes back...I'll be READY!

not flashy or silly, just a nice proper umbrella.

Well, it's here and the weather has decided to stay dry, so this is only my first impression. Really lovely looking!!! not flashy or silly, just a nice proper umbrella. The frame feels substantial and the fabric sits neatly, much nicer in person than I expected. The opening button is great AND it folds the canopy too. My husband has never bothered having his own umbrella and now he's asking about one. I did have to figure out that folding the canopy isn't the final step, you push the pole down yourself with both hands. First one I've had like that, so probably shouldn't have been surprised. It's already waiting in the car and I'm actually looking forward to a rainy day!!! Showed my sixteen year old daughter and even she said it looked good, which doesn't happen with everything I buy. Enough coverage for me, or for two of us standing close. All in all I'm really pleased and will probably get another for my husband.

Karen Lopez

For everyday use by myself I'm pleased with it.

The Haven umbrella has been very useful in the rain, especially keeping my back covered when it blows in from behind.Being in Vancouver, BC for a long stay I wanted something that would stop me ending up with a wet waistband and trousers every time the wind changed. It's been less awkward to manage while walking into the wind, with it at my back or coming across me, compared with the umbrella I had before. After a few months of use it's been doing the job well. The spread is enough for me as an adult male on my own, but I'd look for something bigger if I wanted to regularly shelter another person too. For everyday use by myself I'm pleased with it.

Umbrellas usually annoy me.

Umbrellas usually annoy me. On a crowded Manhattan pavement they're another thing to steer around people, and if I find one I enjoy carrying, somehow I leave it somewhere. Never seems to fail. Before my wife and I went to France to see her family, she warned me to expect rain. I wanted something that wouldn't take over my carry-on but could cover us when we were walking together. This one packed easily, so that was the first hurdle cleared. Paris greeted us with wet weather after the train journey from Marseille. We were tired, hungry, and not particularly interested in sightseeing at that point. With no evening room service at the hotel, going out for food meant taking the umbrella along. It was a much nicer walk than I'd anticipated. We stayed close together under it and neither of us arrived at dinner soaked. Doesn't sound like much until you're worn out and just want something to eat! For something I could pack away in my luggage, the amount of shelter was a pleasant surprise. And that closing button!!! A press brings the canopy in, then you compress the shaft to finish packing it up. I'd never had that convenience before and liked it immediately. The sleeve is useful for stowing it, and I liked having the loop handle to hold while it was shut. Nothing complicated, just handy. Naturally, after all that, I managed to leave it behind once we were back in New York. Typical me. I'm replacing it with the same one, which probably says more than anything else I could write!

Wanda Huff

Before taking it anywhere I put an address sticker on the handle.

I can fit myself and my tote comfortably beneath this umbrella, which measures about 105cm across when opened out. Before taking it anywhere I put an address sticker on the handle. Four umbrellas in two years is quite enough, and the other three wandered off with no way for an honest finder to send them home. I hope somebody is at least getting some use out of them. The pink material looks cheerful and feels more substantial than the fabric on my previous umbrellas. A little colour is welcome when everything outside is looking grey. This one has a button for opening it and closing the canopy, although you still push the stem in yourself afterwards. Umbrellas that spring open have always made me slightly nervous, but this is straightforward if I give it room. I wouldn't want to try opening it while squeezed into a car with someone beside me. It strikes me as good value, and being pleasant to look at is an additional point in its favour. There was a sleeve included, which has already gone in the bin. That is nothing against this particular sleeve. Once an umbrella has been used I never seem able to persuade it back into its original little wrapper. Am I going to stand there wrestling with it every time?

Glenn Wagner

It feels firmer than the umbrellas I've had before.

For the money this is a very decent piece of kit, and I like using it. It feels firmer than the umbrellas I've had before. I haven't had it out in anything like a gale, so can't comment on that, but normal rain has been no problem. I did shop around before choosing it and feel the quality justifies what I spent.

Henry Mcneil

I know that probably sounds picky.

I was expecting something that would disappear among my things when I wasn't using it, and this isn't quite that for me. It folds down, yes, but I still notice how much room it needs when I'm heading to work. Not some enormous ordeal, no need to reorganise my entire life around an umbrella, just more space than I wanted to give it. I know that probably sounds picky. It is the sort of small annoyance that matters when you carry the same things every day and already have everything where you want it. I found a place for it alongside my usual things so it fits now, which has taken care of the practical problem. I'm still not thrilled about the size for my own preference. :( Disappointed on that point.(To be fair though, it feels comfortable in my hand, there's good room under it, and it has kept the rain off without any fuss. As an umbrella it works well, just wasn't quite the compact little thing I pictured)

Shaun Rogers

Good looking umbrella and it sits nicely in my hand.

Good looking umbrella and it sits nicely in my hand. The button opens it promptly and there's plenty of cover for me. Getting the fabric folded as neatly as it arrived takes a little fiddling, since some of it wants to bunch up. The canopy closes with the button, then the shaft needs a push down by hand. I'm not expecting miracles in extreme wind anyway. If it's THAT wild outside, an umbrella isn't going to make the walk pleasant, is it? Overall I'm very happy with what I paid for.

Alec Walsh

Worth the money.

Walking around campus in the rain meant I really needed something better than the umbrellas I'd been using. This one has lasted well so far and is a sensible middle size, not tiny over my head and not awkward to put in my bag. I've had it out in rainy, blustery weather and it has kept me dry without feeling like it's about to twist out of my hand. That's a big improvement for me. I'd recommend it to another student who needs an umbrella for regular use rather than something that only looks good. Worth the money.

Colleen Christensen

This is one of three umbrellas I've bought in this range.

This is one of three umbrellas I've bought in this range. The plain finish is smart without being fussy, which I rather prefer. Opening with the button is straightforward. The button also draws the canopy shut, something I hadn't used before; the telescoping section then needs to be pressed down manually to finish packing it. A neat arrangement overall. One small caution, when shaking the rain off before going inside, it's easy to put a finger over the button and close it sooner than intended. I now watch where my thumb sits. Too early to judge how long it'll last, but it has worked well so far.

Jeremiah Cuevas

Feels light in the hand but not flimsy.

Feels light in the hand but not flimsy. I haven't had it out in a really fierce storm, so can't speak for that. The useful thing is how easily the rain shakes off the canopy afterwards. I leave it open to finish drying before packing it away, and it hasn't left a wet mess in my bag.

Makayla Leonard

We were all a bit surprised, me included.

Used mine on a really blustery day with other people having trouble with their umbrellas. I couldn't tell you how strong the wind was, only that this one coped very well. We were all a bit surprised, me included. Now I'm more worried about forgetting it somewhere, or somebody in the family deciding it's theirs!

Sydney Solis

Several details deserve a mention.

An elegant umbrella, and more substantial in the hand than the compact shape suggests. There is a little weight to it - not burdensome, just a reassuring feel. I like having something pleasant to carry on a wet walk. Several details deserve a mention. The oval loop gives my fingers room, rather than making me grip a thin little handle. The button opens the canopy without fiddling with catches, and also folds it when I am finished; the shaft then needs a push down by hand. That distinction is worth knowing, particularly for anyone with sensitive hands who wants to avoid unnecessary fuss. The finish looks quite smart, too. For everyday walks here on the Oregon coast, this feels like a thoughtfully made companion rather than merely something to leave by the door.

Brad Warren

What makes me especially pleased is that I spent a lot less on it.

Over the years I've used quite a few umbrellas, and I can't say this one gives up anything important compared with my previous ones. What makes me especially pleased is that I spent a lot less on it. It gives me the coverage I need and has kept the rain off on plenty of wet days. Hard to argue with that kind of value.

Valerie Hawkins

I passed it to my sister.

A bit bigger folded than I'd pictured, I wanted something tiny to carry around. For someone walking a lot in the city it makes more sense, there's a decent area covered when it's up. I passed it to my sister. She likes the blue and finds the button handy when she gets caught in rain.

Joshua Stafford

Must say I'm happy with it, and expect it to get plenty of use.

The surprise for me was how much room there is underneath this umbrella. Folded up, it doesn't look as if it could cover very much, but once it's open I have a comfortable space around my shoulders. The cream white is pleasant too, not a harsh looking white. I had been a little worried about operating it with my weak hand. Having a button for opening and drawing the canopy together makes that part very manageable. The last step is pressing the telescoping sections back into the handle, which needs a firmer push. I use both hands for that rather than trying to force it with one. Must say I'm happy with it, and expect it to get plenty of use.

Don West

There is a solid feel to it, too.

It's listed as about 105cm across when open. Haven't measured it myself, but it's roomy enough for me. There is a solid feel to it, too. I've only taken it out in light rain so far, which it handled well. I'd suggest it for anyone wanting good cover in a folding umbrella.

this should be handy next time it pours my husband borrowed my old tiny umbrella and still got soaked going from the car to his office- this opens out to a better size for him without being a big long stick - the loop handle feels good - happy with what I paid - would get another - seems good value

Madison Hodge

Very good umbrella.

Very good umbrella. Around 390 grams. Construction feels high quality. Won mine in a game. Comfortable oval handle, different from the usual type. Interesting arrangement of ribs, thirty flexible ones under the pink fabric. Operation - press button and it opens, press again and the canopy folds. The telescoping part then needs pushing in manually. There is a sleeve supplied for storage. Opened size is quite generous - good for me.

A useful back-up umbrella rather than the one I'd choose for a long day in bad weather. It goes in my backpack/computer bag (where it usually stays), though it isn't really a pocket-sized thing. But there are compromises: fine for one person, less practical if you're trying to share, and I would still reach for a bigger umbrella in rough weather. Putting it away takes a little more attention than opening it--the canopy needs a tidy wrap before I slide the sleeve on. Good to keep handy, just not the tiniest option if that's your main reason for buying.

My wife comes along when I walk the course and carries an umbrella to stay out of the sun. Her old one could be awkward in a breeze (for her as much as the umbrella). This one gives her comfortable shade without being enormous, and she finds it easy to carry in her hand. When she doesn't need it, it folds small enough to put away with our things on the cart.I'd recommend it for someone wanting a handheld umbrella for those walks.

Nicholas Serrano

It looked lovely when I opened it and felt really well made too.

My mom(who is very fond of gray) had this as her Christmas present. It looked lovely when I opened it and felt really well made too. I ordered a couple of weeks ahead and had time to wrap it before the holiday, so that was a relief. It is worth spending a little more on something that feels this solid and looks this nice. No idea how many years it will last, but it seems a good quality umbrella, and she thinks it is BEAUTIFUL!

Megan Alexander

It isn't a huge umbrella.

I was quite upset when I left my first one of these in a cab. After making do with a flimsy little replacement I went back to this one. The canopy is comfortable for me on my own; two people can squeeze underneath, although you have to stay pretty close. It isn't a huge umbrella. For travelling, the folded size works well in the outside compartment of my carry-on, which means I can get at it without unpacking everything. It has dealt well with the windy walks I've used it on, though I wouldn't go looking for a storm to test it. My only reservation is the weight compared with a tiny pocket one. Worth that tradeoff for the sturdier feel, and a good choice if you travel regularly.

David Rice

As a back-up that lives in my computer bag, this is useful.

As a back-up that lives in my computer bag, this is useful. It doesn't take up too much space there, though a small purse would be a different story.I get enough cover on my own, but would want something bigger to share or carry lots of things underneath. For an extended walk in bad weather I'd reach for a larger umbrella rather than this one. Packing it away isn't instant either--the fabric needs arranging before it goes nicely into the sleeve. Overall a good spare to have, just not the one I'd choose for every possible day.
