This was a birthday present for my boyfriend and he's delighted with it! Looks smart without being fussy. The button opening is something he especially likes. His feels sturdy, and another press of the button shuts the canopy without any bother. There's enough cover for us to share if we stand close together.Just remember to push the shaft down by hand afterwards to finish folding it.Definitely pleased I picked this as a gift, it's been a good choice for him.

A smart bit of shelter for a miserable day!
A smart bit of shelter for a miserable day! If you prefer a simple look, the black is lovely. Being dry beneath the canopy makes going out in the rain a little more bearable. Looks good and is useful, which is all I really want from an umbrella!Pros: Neat appearance; good cover; quick button openingCons: The canopy closes by button, but pushing the shaft back in needs a little effort

They look very professional.
Ordered ten for the office so our directors have umbrellas for rainy visits to Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. They look very professional. Nice sturdy feel and plenty of cover for one person, which is what we needed. The folded size is practical for carrying between meetings when weather bad. Having seen them, I want another to keep at home.

rain and wind haven't made it feel flimsy.
This umbrella has been marching through the rain like it has somewhere important to be! After getting a thorough soaking with my old little umbrella I needed something more substantial. This has had several wet days to prove itself and so far has kept me nicely covered....rain and wind haven't made it feel flimsy. Only reservation is that it's a little bulkier folded than I pictured. Still, a very welcome upgrade to my wet weather equipment.

Would definitely recommend this umbrella.
Very happy with it, yes it has more weight than I pictured but it also feels solid rather than flimsy in my hand. So far it's stayed nicely in shape when it's breezy. The gray looks just like the pictures and is lovely in person. Would definitely recommend this umbrella.

A nice little convenience.
A press of the button raises the canopy or collapses it; I push the shaft back in by hand. Simple enough. Usually an umbrella sleeve ends up abandoned because getting it on is such a bother. This sleeve slips back over easily, so I actually keep using it. A nice little convenience. My only hesitation is how it would manage a proper windy downpour. We get some rough weather here and I haven't been brave enough to try that. Hope this helps someone deciding. Leave a question if there's anything I've missed and I'll try to add an answer

At last, an umbrella that actually covers ME!
At last, an umbrella that actually covers ME! I'm a larger lady, and usually there is some bit of me outside the umbrella getting soaked, even with rain falling straight down! I'd bought a couple before this thinking they looked wide enough, only to find myself doing the same old shuffle trying to keep everything underneath. Then I'd pass somebody with an enormous umbrella and wonder how they managed to find all that room when I couldn't (and I was the one who needed it)!
So yes, I had high hopes for this one, and it has done what I wanted! I can stand under it without feeling that one shoulder has to be sacrificed. My sister can tuck in alongside me too, although we need to keep close together! It seems solid and nicely put together, without being nearly as heavy to hold as I expected from looking at it open.
A couple of days after it arrived we had some really heavy rain during the storms here, so I didn't have to wait long to find out how it would do. I stayed covered and was delighted! I probably won't bother taking it out for a little drizzle, unless there's a long walk involved. But when the rain really gets going, this is the one I'll be reaching for!

This one has done a lovely job.
Living on the Oregon coast means an umbrella sees plenty of rain, so I don't hand out praise lightly! This one has done a lovely job. We still treat it sensibly and leave it inside when the wind gets really wild, but for normal wet days the coverage is good and two of us can tuck underneath when we need to.

My wife first thought it was a flag, then said "that's big"!
My wife first thought it was a flag, then said "that's big"! Not huge really, but bigger open than she expected from something folded up. We had errands Friday and a fairly long walk across a parking lot, waited for the pouring rain to stop and it didn't. So out it came. With us close together it gave enough cover for that dash, and suddenly the size wasn't a problem. My surprize was that it didn't feel heavy to hold, even with all those ribs. Takes a little space when packed away but nothing terrible. The green is a cheerful sight in a wet parking lot

I'll happily take it to the beach for some shade.
The quality feels much like the sturdier umbrellas I've used before. I wanted a light colour and the cream white looks good. It does seem well put together, but it takes up more space folded than I expected. That's on me, the size was there in the description, I just didn't really picture it. I'll happily take it to the beach for some shade. Less convenient for my crowded bus commute, where I want something that disappears into a small bag.

Arrived promptly and neatly packed.
This was a birthday present for my mother and she was delighted with it. Arrived promptly and neatly packed. The frame feels solid, yet it isn't tiring to hold, and the opening button is simple to use. I like that there's no need to fiddle with the mechanism to get it open. A very successful present.
Makayla Church
People have said it looks nice too.
Being outside supervising children means standing in rain rather than ducking indoors, so I wanted something with decent coverage and a substantial feel. I'm very happy with this one. The frame feels strong, and it has been steady in the wet, blustery weather I've used it in. There's room for me and a child tucked close beside me, though I wouldn't expect it to shelter the whole group. People have said it looks nice too. There are 3 slightly odd things worth mentioning:1. There was a plastic smell initially, but that faded.2. The box seemed enormous compared with what was inside it.3. The canopy draws in quite sharply when you press the button. It caught me by surprise the first time, so now I keep my fingers well clear and then compress the shaft manually. Nothing has put me off using it, just worth paying attention when closing.

You know how kids are.
I picked this up for our granddaughter in Seattle, partly because of all that rain and partly because we share a liking for simple designs. It's nice when something useful can also be a little reminder of grandma. She has her old hippie grandmie to think of, although grandmie is getting rather practical these days. The umbrella seems very good quality and opens out larger than I expected from the folded size. The fabric is substantial and the handle and frame feel solid, not like something that needs treating too delicately. I feel she has a good umbrella that should give her a lot of use, provided she remembers to bring it home instead of leaving it somewhere. You know how kids are. :)

It covers one person with some room left over.
It covers one person with some room left over. Not as long as a golf umbrella, but folded up it's still too long for my backpack. The button opens the canopy promptly, which is a nice feature. Looks quite neat and professional, and I like that about it. I haven't had it out in really strong wind, so I can't say how it would do there.

For the money this has been an excellent buy.
For the money this has been an excellent buy. It feels solid, gives me plenty of cover, and I am glad to have it when the rain starts. Some of the smaller umbrellas I looked at cost more, which made this seem even better value. There is one thing worth mentioning, and that is the smell around the handle. Not a horrible smell, just that odd new-item smell, and I could notice it on my hand after carrying it. After a few weeks it is much less noticeable so I expect it will go away eventually. That would not put me off buying it again. For what it cost and how useful it has been, having a slightly odd smelling hand for a while seems a pretty fair trade to me.

This umbrella stayed with me through two years in Guatemala, including the months when rain was an everyday thing! i carried it daily during those stretches and it held up the whole way. Plenty of cover once opened, but it folds down small enough to carry around easily. if you're after an umbrella that will last through regular use, i'd happily recommend this one.

Wind still needs a bit of common sense.
Most umbrellas I've used were the long sort that get in the way when you aren't actually using them. This is much handier, roughly 40cm folded, although still not a tiny pocket umbrealla. The loop handle takes up a fair bit of room and for me that's the less compact part of the whole thing. Coverage when open is good, I haven't felt like I had to hunch my shoulders up to stay under it. Wind still needs a bit of common sense. Pointing the canopy towards it works better than letting air get underneath, and no I wouldn't be waving it out through a car sun-roof -- it's an umbrella not a parachute. The finish round a few seams could look neater for the money, but nothing has come apart. Button action is quite quick, so I make sure there's space before pressing it. One press to open, another to fold the canopy, then push the telescoping part down manually. That last step isn't automatic. No leaking fabric in the rain I've used it in, but rain coming at you sideways can still get your trousers. Overall a useful umbrella, just bulkier packed than I'd pictured.

My wife uses this on her morning walks.
My wife uses this on her morning walks. She wasn't immediately keen because it weighs more than the little folding one she was used to, but she's come round to the solid feel and the useful shade. Now it's the one she takes along. She says it feels well put together, which I agree with.

The umbrella itself has been great.
For anyone still wondering which umbrella to choose,
I would recommend giving this one a try. It has made a good impression on me.
The centre shaft feels solid, and there are a lot of ribs close together. Opened out, it is quite broad compared with how small it looks folded.
It seems sturdy enough to keep for a long time, provided I don't leave it somewhere.
It looks ready for the rainy days.
Mine came in a long rectangular box, with not much extra space around the umbrella.
There was plastic wrapping over it when it arrived.
Under that is the fabric carry sleeve.
A separate cover for putting it away.
Slide that off and the umbrella itself is inside.
Pressing the button makes it spread out quickly. The canopy looks nicely stretched across all those ribs, not loose looking.
The beige colour is pleasant too.
I am liking this umbrella a lot.
Another one in a different colour is something I would consider buying next time.
If you are undecided, this is worth choosing.
The wait was around ten days, which was the only part I wasn't especially keen on. The umbrella itself has been great.
For what I paid, I think the quality is better than expected.
I bought this with my own money.
Excellent. My mark is 5 stars out of 100. *****.

Gives a solid impression and the finishing is tidy.
Gives a solid impression and the finishing is tidy. Press the button to open it or shut the canopy, then push the telescopic section back in to make it compact. That part is manual, as expected. Haven't had rain to try it in yet; if it performs well I'll get another.
Barry Rose
Silly to be protective over an umbrella but this one is really nice.
I almost don't want to take this umbrella out because I would be so annoyed if I left it somewhere. It just looks really cool to me. The loop handle gives it a different look from the ones I usually see and I enjoy that. Silly to be protective over an umbrella but this one is really nice.
Stuart Cordova
One detail I appreciate is the closed oval handle.
One detail I appreciate is the closed oval handle. It gives me a comfortable place to grip, and the loop shape makes it a little different from the usual straight-handled umbrella. The automatic action is straightforward: press once to open, and press again when you want the canopy folded down. Shortening the telescoping shaft afterwards is done manually, so that part isn't automatic. There are quite a lot of flexible ribs inside, which give the canopy a nicely supported shape. I find the blue exterior attractive with the black underneath; it's a simple combination rather than a busy design.Overall the details work well together. A tidy looking umbrella with useful features, not just something that looks nice in a photograph.

My eight year old has been very happy carrying this.
My eight year old has been very happy carrying this. A pretty little umbrella that folds away neatly enough for her backpack. I wasn't sure she'd be keen on beige....it isn't usually her first choice. But she thinks it looks lovely and wants to take it everywhere!

Now we're just waiting for spring showers so he can use it for rain!
Our youngest grandson had wanted his own umbrella for ages, so this was his fifth birthday present in December. I liked the push button, although he has help to press the stem back down after closing. My daughter said he wouldn't go anywhere without it the following day and it was SNOWING! Now we're just waiting for spring showers so he can use it for rain!
Yesenia Ruiz
Worth the price.
Worth the price. So ordinary looking, which is exactly the point! The oval handle suits my hand nicely, although fans of a long straight grip might find it short. Fairly light to carry & nothing about it shouts for attention. Nobody picking it up folded would guess how much drama is waiting in that opening button. Just the thing for a space villain trying to pass unnoticed on a wet commute!
Jeanne Ward
Once shortened it is easy to carry.
The open size is quite generous compared with what you expect from the folded umbrella. It doesn't feel like carrying a long golf umbrella around, which is a definite advantage. There's enough substance to it to feel sturdy without making it a nuisance to bring along. The reason for my four stars is the last stage of packing it away. The button takes care of the canopy, but you still have to press the telescoping shaft down yourself. That's normal for this type, just slightly awkward when I'm rushing. Once shortened it is easy to carry. Not quite effortless from start to finish, but good value and smart looking, so overall I'm pleased with the purchase.

My daughter wanted an umbrella with DECENT cover - this seemed a sensible size. When it arrived I thought - OH - it opens out more than I expected - and she was happy to keep it.It folds down into a short package - not too much weight and looks nice,I think it was good value for what we got.

For unexpected rain it's a useful little thing.
Rainy days in Boston were why I wanted an umbrella to leave in my bag. It's portable without feeling flimsy, and the breezy showers I've used it in haven't been a problem. For unexpected rain it's a useful little thing. I would still take something larger if I knew I was facing a long walk in really rough weather, rather than expect a compact umbrella to do everything. The quick canopy collapse is useful when I'm getting into the car or heading indoors. Price wasn't bad either. It's been a practical buy and I would recommend it.
Kaylee Haney
The sleeve is where I have a small gripe.
I used to buy whatever cheap umbrella was handy because our rainy spell in California never seemed long enough to justify much else. With work keeping me outdoors more now, and skin that goes red far too easily, I wanted something I could use for shade as well. I'm a bigger guy so coverage mattered, but I didn't want a huge umbrella to drag around either.
The pink one arrived and my first impression was that a bit more thought had gone into it than the ones I usually buy. Looking underneath there are a lot of ribs supporting the fabric, and they have some flexibility rather than feeling completely rigid. I can't tell you much about the materials just from looking at them but the whole thing feels reasonably substantial. It opens out to a useful size for me and still folds down small enough that carrying it isn't a chore. My cheap umbrellas tend to come out looking pretty sorry after sitting unused between rainy seasons. Hopefully this will be something I keep using instead of replacing every year, although obviously I haven't had it long enough to know that yet.
For sunshine I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the dark underside. It gives a decent patch of shade, not some magical escape from the heat, but standing underneath it is noticeably more comfortable than having the sun directly on me. On a really hot day you're still going to be hot. For the extra time I'm spending outside that little difference is worth having.
The sleeve is where I have a small gripe. You need to get the fabric wrapped fairly neatly before it slides in easily, so putting it away isn't quite as quick as opening it. Nothing wrong with the umbrella itself, just a slightly fiddly finish when you're in a hurry. That's the reason for four rather than five stars. So far it feels like a worthwhile step up from my usual purchases. I'll see how it wears with regular use.
Connie Dean
Wanted a sturdier one this time, and this has been a good change.
Small umbrellas have usually left me feeling like I was carrying something too flimsy to rely on. Wanted a sturdier one this time, and this has been a good change. It still folds up for carrying but has decent cover once open. So far it has handled the gusts I've met without fuss, which was the main thing I was looking for.
Tabitha Stein
The oval handle is a nice touch.
What a cute umbrella!! The oval handle is a nice touch. Overall it feels solid and worth what I paid. My four-year-old likes pressing the opening button while I hold it, and we have no trouble getting it open. I help with putting it away afterwards (It's not something I leave a little one to do alone). We've both been pleased with it.
Jacob Wright
When the rain comes down I appreciate that room.
I wanted good coverage without having to lug a giant umbrella, and this is a happy middle ground [pause].It opens out bigger than the folded shape suggests, enough room for my shoulders without looking ridiculous. When the rain comes down I appreciate that room. It has a bit of heft in the hand, so I would recommend it to someone who doesn't mind that.

Nothing has failed and it does keep me dry.
A useful umbrella in several respects, but the handling is not ideal for me.It is compact when folded, although not the tiny, barely noticeable kind I would leave in a small bag. The canopy gives me adequate protection and the ribs seem substantial; I cannot say anything about long term durability from looking at them. The button is convenient when opening it or bringing the canopy down. You still shorten the telescoping section manually afterwards, which is normal, but it means putting it away is not entirely a one handed operation. The handle is where I have the most reservations: the oval loop does not leave much room for my hand, and I find myself changing my grip during longer walks. Nothing has failed and it does keep me dry. It is simply more noticeable in my hand+wrist than I wanted from a compact umbrella, so my opinion is somewhere in the middle.
Jackie Logan
It earns its keep for shade alone.
This is something I carry for shade, not an accessory to go with an outfit. The black fabric is rather plain.I don't mind plain if it does the job. It gives my eyes a rest from the bright sun, and I find it comfortable to stand beneath. There is some weight to it, which suits a useful umbrella rather than a dainty parasol. I like having one with me. Once I held an umbrella between a loose German shepherd and my poodle, and that was enough to make the other dog keep its distance. When somebody coughs nearby I sometimes lift it like a screen. Silly perhaps, but there it is. Whether it would put off a mugger is something I hope not to test.It earns its keep for shade alone. It travelled on an airplane with me too. The price is worthwhile to me, and I would buy it again. Update: Mine has had daily outings for two years and is still usable. I should have been better about slipping it into the sleeve when putting it away; the fabric would look a lot fresher.
Travis Grant
Very happy with the quality.
My four year old son is delighted with this umbrella. I work the button for him and he loves watching it pop open. Feels sturdy and I appreciate the plain design, nothing childish printed on it that he'll stop liking next year. Gave it a quick wipe when it arrived, no trouble. Very happy with the quality. Thanks

Wanted a little shade without carrying something ugly.
Phoenix is where I grew up, but these days I'm in the NW. My folks are still in AZ, and visits mean more sun than I'm used to now. Wanted a little shade without carrying something ugly. This fits th' bill! Pretty pink canopy, comfortable enough to carry and nicely put together...A real treat!

We ordered four of these umbrellas for guests needing to reach a cab in wet weather. The construction gives a good impression and the automatic opening is convenient when someone is also managing luggage. Coverage is comfortable for the person being assisted, without an unwieldy umbrella to store afterwards. A practical courtesy item for us, and one I would be comfortable recommending.
Teresa Cook
She's thrilled with her umbrella!
For my granddaughter's birthday I chose this umbrella, and she was eager to try it straight away. Her first outing with it was actually playtime in the swimming pool! Since then it's been along on plane trips and car journeys, as well as plenty of rainy days. Still looking good and holding up nicely. She's thrilled with her umbrella!
Heather Lynn
Lovely looking umbrella!
Lovely looking umbrella! I find myself hoping for a rainy day just for an excuse to take it along. The opening has quite a kick, so keep a proper grip and don't aim it towards somebody when pressing the button. The shaft, fabric and ribs all seem substantial, and the whole thing looks very smart. We've only had a few wet days so far, though, so time will tell how well everything lasts. There IS a sleeve included, which is handy even if I tend to misplace these things almost immediately. I would be quite happy giving one as a present on looks alone. Update: It's been nearly two years now and this is still the umbrella I reach for. The fabric looks good, the opening action is just as quick and the handle still feels solid. It has seen plenty of soaking wet days in that time. I can't really ask for more than something that carries on doing its job and still looks nice. Money well spent!
Taylor Gillespie
They are a really useful size.
I opened one of the umbrellas and getting the fabric neatly folded back down took longer than I expected. Hopefully I'll get better at doing that. They are a really useful size. Bought three because I lost my old one and wanted to have an extra around this time.
Brandy Huff
Received this as a gift and I'm completely taken with it.
Received this as a gift and I'm completely taken with it. The blue canopy is beautiful, and the oval handle adds a lovely little detail. It feels substantial without being a nuisance to carry. Press the button and it's ready, with enough coverage to be genuinely useful. Packing it away is straightforward too. Absolutely thrilled with it!!!
Cassandra Brock
There's a good amount of cover for one person.
I ordered two ahead of my daughter's spring wedding, just in case the weather refused to cooperate. There were enough other things to think about without leaving umbrellas until the last minute. These are just right for what I wanted! They look neat enough for the occasion without being a huge thing to carry around, and the opening button makes them quick to put up. I tried them both when they arrived and was pleased with how solid they felt. The loop handles are a nice practical touch too. There's a good amount of cover for one person. For the money they look much smarter than I was expecting. One less wedding worry!
Karina Winters
The finish is really lovely to look at.
Very beautifully made. The appearance drew me in before anything else, but using it has impressed me just as much. Press the handle button and it springs open, press again and the canopy folds in. You still shorten the pole yourself before packing it away. For the amount of cover you get, it becomes a tidy little package. The finish is really lovely to look at. A bit of elegance for an otherwise miserable rainy day.
Nina English
Had this a few weeks and it's such a nice looking umbrella!
Had this a few weeks and it's such a nice looking umbrella! Quick to put up, quick to shut the canopy, and much roomier than it looks folded. It's stayed the right way up so far too. Sadly I walked out of a bar without it last night, entirely my own doing. Replacement already ordered. Hopefully this one stays with me :)Worth a look if you enjoy a nice umbrella :P
Chris Brooks
Early days of course, but my first impression is good.
only just got it, have opened it several times and tried the closing button, all working fine, canopy is attached neatly and doesn't feel like that thin papery stuff. gives me a better feeling about how long it might last. I wasn't after the cheapest umbrella possible but didn't want to spend a fortune either, this seems a sensible middle ground. The button is NOT so touchy that I set it off just holding the handle. I had looked through the less enthusiastic reviews before choosing so those were things I wanted to check for myself. Early days of course, but my first impression is good. Maybe that helps somebody deciding.
Kathryn Long
Packs away neatly too.
My mother in law has a folding one like this and I finally picked one up. There is enough cover for my wife and me standing close, without carrying a full length golf umbrella around. Packs away neatly too. Much more useful than the tiny folding ones we've had.
Dawn Grant
rain and windy days, it's been along for all of it.
this has had a lot of use over two years, travelling from europe to canada and around new england. rain and windy days, it's been along for all of it. folds down neatly enough for my larger handbag and i've felt nicely covered underneath it. hasn't flipped on me so far!! really didnt expect a compact umbrella to last this well, but it's still going. been a very useful little umbrella considering how often i end up reaching for it.
Jenny Ortega
Very satisfied with the quality and would recommend it.
A well made folding umbrella, in gray, with a very pleasing appearance. The frame has 30 flexible ribs supporting the canopy, and the whole thing feels solid rather than delicate when opened. The construction gives me confidence for everyday rainy weather. Very satisfied with the quality and would recommend it.
