First outing with it today. Very pleased with how it felt. The canopy fabric has a good thickness. The central shaft feels firm and the ribs seem evenly made. It coped nicely when the wind picked up. For my preference the shaft could be about 10 cm longer, just a little extra reach. Otherwise very satisfied, and a good quality for the price.

Little m'f'in rain sword!
I'm 6'6" and it gives me decent cover without feeling like a toy in my hand. Little m'f'in rain sword! It's had plenty of use in NYC and still feels solid.UPDATE: still working nicely, still looks fresh. :)LATER: not much to add, handle still feels good and nothing creaks when I open it. People can laugh at me getting attached to an umbrella but i'd absolutely get the same one again.

This has been great to carry around!
This has been great to carry around! Folds up for my bag, then opens to cover me and all the stuff I'm always hauling as a grad student. Friends still try to squeeze beside me when it rains!Feels solid, looks smart, and has already come in handy several times.

Having an umbrella each has made going out in the rain much simpler.
Having an umbrella each has made going out in the rain much simpler. We were always trying to squeeze beneath our old one, which never really worked. I've had this for a few weeks and took it to a show on a very wet evening. The button gets it open quickly and folds the canopy afterwards; I then push the shaft down myself. It went beneath my seat without getting in anyone's way. There isn't much room to share, so I'd treat it as a one-person umbrella. I've since ordered another to replace the old one, as we both prefer using this. A convenient size for taking out.

My two year old is fascinated with this umbrella.
My two year old is fascinated with this umbrella. She walks about the house carrying it and insists it comes along when we head to the car. It has stood up well so far. I was a little nervous about fingers near the mechanism, so I do the opening and closing while she watches (pressing the button is apparently the exciting part). I wouldn't call it a toddler umbrella, but she enjoys holding it with me. It's a handy size for us and the automatic action has been smooth. A purchase we're both enjoying.
Dylan Harris
the opening action is handy, too.
my first reaction was that this seemed a little expensive for one umbrella. there are cheaper ones around, and i wasn't sure whether i was paying extra just for the appearance. after actually using it, that concern has pretty much gone away. it feels like something i will keep using, rather than something that is nice to look at and awkward to carry. the cream white outside is quite simple, with a black underside. i like that contrast more than i expected to. the canopy feels substantial and the framework doesn't have that flimsy feel i was worried about. a friend thought it could look a bit more cheerful, but the decorative side of an umbrella isn't really my priority. keeping covered matters more to me, and this one gives me enough room without having to keep shifting it around. the opening action is handy, too. one press and it is ready, which is much less fuss than struggling to get an umbrella up while you're already getting wet. closing the canopy with the same button is useful, although you still compress the shaft yourself afterwards. i found that straightforward once i'd done it. so, the price was my hesitation at first, not the umbrella itself. the oval handle is comfortable in my hand and the whole thing packs away neatly. for what i wanted, a practical umbrella that also looks decent, i'm satisfied with what i got.

Our favorite family umbrellas by quite a margin.
There are two (2) of these in our family now and they're always the first ones taken out. The children have become very particular about wanting the button-operated umbrellas, anything else gets a complaint. The canopy springs out quickly and folds back in with another press, a feature we really do use. They feel properly made, look smart and have made a good impression on all of us. Our favorite family umbrellas by quite a margin.

I had one of these for over a year and carried it everywhere.
I had one of these for over a year and carried it everywhere. It wasn't a long stick to lug about, just a neat little foldy thing I could put in my handbag. What I liked was that opening it gave me proper cover instead of a tiny patch over my head. It also held up nicely on breezy days without constantly trying to turn inside out. Then I left it at a restaurant and couldn't get it back, which was so disappointing. I have now bought another and am just as fond of it. For something I want to carry rather than leave at home, this is a very good umbrella. I'd happily choose it again.
Derek Conley
Haven't taken it into the rain yet!
Pale colours appeal to me, so I think the cream white is lovely. Haven't taken it into the rain yet! It's a good size once open and looks quite solid, so I'm hopeful about how it will feel in a breeze.Note: a little pale dust round the middle when I unfolded it, maybe off the plastic.

useful little umbrellas.
useful little umbrellas. My daughter plays soccer and my husband, son and I each have one for the stands. Opened up they give us some welcome cover without trying to squeeze everybody under mine. I'm glad to have something between me and the rain while routing for her, especially when the weather turns nasty halfway through a game.WORTH TAKING ALONG

Opened it up and thought, yes, that's the coverage I wanted!
Opened it up and thought, yes, that's the coverage I wanted! The button gets it ready quickly and the loop handle feels comfortable enough in my hand. My one reservation is putting it away. The canopy closes at a press, but you still have to push the shaft down yourself until it clicks. That last push takes more effort than I expected, so four stars from me. Fine otherwise, just not effortless to pack away.
Craig Case
Even so, it's lasted better than I expected.
I didn't have particularly high hopes for this umbrella, yet several months on it is still doing fine. I remind my son not to scrape it along the ground or treat it as a toy, so that probably helps. Even so, it's lasted better than I expected. He gets plenty of attention carrying it about and people say how cute he looks (a reporter even stopped to talk to him once b/c he was so sweet walking along with his umbrella :-)
Karina Blanchard
I'd happily recommend it.
Elegant looking without being fussy, which is just what I wanted. The opening is brisk and the canopy pulls in just as neatly. After looking through so many options I was unsure about a folding umbrella because of wind turning them inside out. This feels reassuringly solid in my hand, though if the weather gets too wild I can step indoors and close the canopy quickly. I'd happily recommend it.
Roberta Winters
It's held up well that way and I'm happy to keep using it.
It's surprisingly difficult to find an umbrella I actually want to carry as a guy. So many seem decorated with flowers or cute little pictures. This one though... *smart*. The way the canopy drops at a button press is rather satisfying too. Only niggle is making room for it in the car instead of just tossing it amongst everything else. I treat it with some care and don't pile anything heavy on top. It folds away neatly, but still needs a little space. It's held up well that way and I'm happy to keep using it.

Much less fiddly than the old manual umbrellas: the push-button opening is handy and there's enough canopy to cover me comfortably. Getting it into the sleeve can take a little persuasion if I haven't wrapped it neatly first, but that aside, a very useful umbrella.

I'd had my eye on this umbrella for ages!
I'd had my eye on this umbrella for ages! Finally decided to get it and was ridiculously excited for something that's only an umbrella. I knew it folded down, and at this price I wasn't expecting anything especially impressive. Mostly I just wanted that blue! Then I opened it up and it was much nicer than I'd imagined. The fabric looks good, the frame feels sturdy and everything sits neatly when it's open. Of course living in Southern California meant I couldn't give it a proper outing straight away! A few dry weeks went by before we finally got some rain. Sunday at last!! Out came the umbrella, it kept me dry, and my team won as well!
Jo Houston
The only thing worth pointing out is the weight.
After enough walks with damp shoulders or an umbrella fighting to turn over, I wanted something that felt a bit more dependable. The canopy covers me properly, and it feels much more secure when the wind picks up. It isn't one of those huge family umbrellas, but there is a useful amount of cover for something that folds down. I can actually arrive dry rather than wondering why I bothered taking an umbrella! The only thing worth pointing out is the weight. It's quite solid in the hand, which I appreciate, though holding it up for a long time when the wind is pushing against it can get tiring.
Leroy Cordova
This has been a handy little umbrella.
This has been a handy little umbrella. Plenty of cover to keep me dry, without being so wide I'm bumping into everything. It's nice looking as well, which is always a plus. Being able to open it with a press is great. The button folds the canopy back in too, but pushing the pole down afterwards takes a bit of effort. That's my only small gripe. A great umbrella all round!
Michele Arroyo
It's a good size open and the construction seems decent.
Opinions were a bit mixed, but at this price I decided it was worth trying. Glad I did. It's a good size open and the construction seems decent. The button saves a lot of messing about getting it open, and it packs away neatly afterwards. I'd say give it a go!
Melinda Villa
The sleeve slides over the folded umbrella for carrying.
The workmanship is excellent and the open canopy gives me a comfortable amount of cover. Sometimes I spend a moment finding the button with the fabric wrapped around it, but once found it opens promptly. Pressing again gathers the canopy, and I push the shaft in to put it away. The sleeve slides over the folded umbrella for carrying. It feels thoughtfully made rather than just decorative. I consider it money well spent and one of the nicest umbrellas I have owned. For me, the quality of the construction matters more than having something that only looks impressive.

Rain starting is now my cue to look unnecessarily impressive.
Rain starting is now my cue to look unnecessarily impressive. One press and the umbrella springs out, and suddenly I feel like I've got my life together. Yes, I know it's an umbrella, but that button is ridiculously satisfying. If more everyday things did their job with this much drama I'd be unstoppable. I keep hoping for a little drizzle just so I can bring it out and pretend I'm effortlessly cool.
Zachary Johns
It also gives me shade when the sun is out.
I have used this on breezy days and it has coped very well. I use an umbrella quite often and I like that it feels steady on those breezy days rather than pulling about too much. It also gives me shade when the sun is out. The size suits me and a press of the button gets it open straight away.
Mia Hubbard
For my purposes that is perfectly manageable.
I have two of these which I use over large patio pots when the rain gets heavy. My mixed arrangements include begonias and some fairly delicate annuals, and the canopy is wide enough to shelter the planting without resting on the flowers. They are not transparent, so I remove them between wet spells rather than leaving the plants shaded for days. For my purposes that is perfectly manageable. The loop handle gives me a convenient place to secure each umbrella to the supports by the planters, and I haven't needed to alter the umbrellas themselves. Visitors have commented on the neat little arrangement. I am thinking of using another over the plants hanging from the deck railing, provided I can get the position right. These have been a practical way of protecting the flowers from a soaking, and they fold away when the weather clears.
Janice Meadows
I can happily recommend this purchase 100%.
The pink outside and black underneath look nice, the ribs seem strong too, I hope it will do well when it rains (perhaps for sunshine as well). Delivery was very quick and the umbrella was all in order when it arrived. I can happily recommend this purchase 100%.

More substantial than the usual folding umbrella.
More substantial than the usual folding umbrella. Quick to put up and convenient to pack away. Folded, it fits with the things I carry around rainy Pittsburgh, so I actually have it when I need it. A roof you can take with you, basically.I'd rather pay a little more for something solid than keep buying flimsy umbrellas. We've ended up getting one for everybody in the family.
Thomas Romero
This has exactly that understated, put-together look I enjoy.
This has exactly that understated, put-together look I enjoy. Gray can be dull, but this looks quite chic to me, especially with the dark underside. I'm fussy about umbrellas because I want them to look good as well as actually shelter me. This one gives me a nice space to stand under without feeling like I'm carrying a tent. The loop handle took a little getting used to (not my usual shape), and it isn't the tiniest thing in my bag. Neither bothers me much now. Once it's up, it feels solid and comfortable to hold. For the style and the amount of cover I get, I'm very happy to give it that bit of bag space.

One of the nicest umbrellas we've owned it really is pretty and does its job well . We've liked using it enough to tell just about all the friends and neighbors about it. The cream white goes nicely with our school colors as well , so that was a nice extra , thank you

* Fabric looks good, with a black underside.
I wanted something dependable for the walk to the bus, without having to carry a full length umbrella all day. The little compact I had was... usable, but coverage wasn't great and the whole thing felt rather slight. I looked at another option as well and wasn't persuaded to keep it. This one is a much better fit for what I need:* Not the lightest thing in the bag, but it feels substantial rather than cumbersome.* Opens out to a useful size, quite different from how it looks folded.* The frame has 30 flexible ribs; it feels supported across the canopy.* Fabric looks good, with a black underside.* An oval loop handle, which I find comfortable to hold.* A sleeve to keep it together in the bag.* The button opens it briskly and collapses the canopy again. The shaft then needs a push by hand to reset. It is longer and fuller when packed than the tiny models, so don't expect something that disappears into a coat pocket. I would rather allow a little more room in my bag and have an umbrella I actually enjoy using. Recommended.

Very happy with how long it has lasted.
I've had this umbrella more than five years now and it is the one I keep coming back to. Several smaller folding ones have come and gone while this one is still going.I haven't had the canopy blow inside out on me. In wind I do keep a firm grip because it can pull about from one side to the other. the frame holds its shape well, which is what I wanted, but that also means you feel the wind pushing against the whole canopy. Very happy with how long it has lasted.
Steve Frazier
LOLThe gray is nice and the whole thing feels well put together.
Softball mom here, and I was sooo curious about this one that I decided to try it! Still waiting to see how it does through a full game with that south Texas breeze. It shades me and maybe one shoulder of my husband. :) My daughter says it looks cool, so apparently I've made an acceptable choice for once. LOLThe gray is nice and the whole thing feels well put together. Wish it covered a little more of the two of us, but for me it's a keeper.

This feels sturdy when it's up.
This feels sturdy when it's up. The inexpensive one's I used before were fine where I lived previously, but not much use after moving somewhere windier. This one feels better made and has been fine in the weather we've had so far. No really strong wind yet though...the last big storm here had trees coming down, so that would be a different test. I'll add something after the next proper storm if we get one.... At the moment I'm happy with it, just can't report on the worst conditions yet.
Eugene Pittman
it's done well in the rain too.
After a year of looking for something to carry for shade on hot days, I've finally found one I enjoy using! With chronic vertigo I'm particular about how things feel in my hand, and this is comfortable to hold. It isn't a replacement for my cane, just a very nice umbrella. The construction feels solid and the design is even nicer in person. I've had plenty of compliments when out with it, which is a pleasant bonus. If I ever need to replace this one, I'd be happy to get the same again at this price. And it isn't only useful in sunshine; it's done well in the rain too.
Cody Frank
This umbrella makes being outside much more comfortable.
Texas heat is something I've lived with all my life. That 2011 summer was something else.It pushed me to find shade I could take along rather than staying inside. This umbrella makes being outside much more comfortable. I leave it in the car so it's there whenever the sun is too much, not just on the hottest days.Feels substantial without being tiring to carry.Everybody could use one!
Cheyenne Waller
Gives a good patch of shade when the sun is out.
Pros:Solid feeling frame, has stayed steady in breezy weather.Gives a good patch of shade when the sun is out.Handle feels secure and comfortable to hold.Cons:The closed oval loop isn't a hook you can rest over your arm.Folded up it still has a bit of bulk, and there is some weight to it.Overall a very useful umbrella, feels well worth what I paid. I'm satisfied.

Finally found an umbrella with the sort of shape and feel I wanted!
Finally found an umbrella with the sort of shape and feel I wanted! My old one had been with me for 20 years and was looking very sorry for itself, but I was attached to it and didn't want to change styles completely. This is a nice replacement, familiar enough without feeling flimsy. The price felt fair too. Glad I kept looking instead of settling for something I didn't like.

Back in college I had a clear umbrella that was great for walking with my books. After my last umbrella turned inside out, I looked for something to replace it. This isn't see-through like that college one, but it has kept me and my books covered well enough. There hasn't been a windy rain since I bought it, so that's still untested. Hoping it will hold up when the fall weather gets going here in Seattle.

A really cheerful little umbrella, and smart looking too.
A really cheerful little umbrella, and smart looking too. I haven't had nearly enough rain to give it as much use as I expected (and sometimes I simply leave it at home). The blue against that plain black underside is a lovely combination. Something about a bright colour on a miserable day always appeals to me. It feels like a normal everyday umbrella rather than something for battling serious winds, which is fine for what I need. I enjoy having an ordinary useful thing that also looks nice instead of just grabbing whatever is nearest the door. A pleasing design without spending a fortune.
Summer Jordan
The nice thing is rain cover and not too much weight, which is good.
Came in the evening,,,,had a look at it then
The nice thing is rain cover and not too much weight, which is good.
With wind from the side you can still get wet~^^
Bought 3 in total, one stays at home, one in the luggage just in case, and the other one...
When going around with my child it is not a lot of trouble to carry. Useful enough.

They never felt particularly solid and didn't last very long.
Most of my umbrellas before this were the bargain ones sitting near the checkout... the kind you grab because you forgot to bring one. They never felt particularly solid and didn't last very long. This one has a bit of weight and you notice the difference as soon as it opens. I haven't tried to give it some extreme weather test, but in the wind i've used it in there is a pull without that flimsy feeling. The button hasn't given me any trouble either. It does pop open pretty fast, so i make sure there's room and keep a decent grip rather than just letting it fly. Maybe im being too careful, but that sudden stop makes me wonder how it will be after lots of use. So far everything is fine and the fabric and ribs seem sturdy. Four stars because the opening action is a little fierce for my liking. Still a big step up from my usual cheap umbrellas!
Abigail Hartman
This one is easy to carry and has been useful whenever I've needed it.
In FL I need something for sunshine as well as rain, and a folding umbrella makes sense for me. This one is easy to carry and has been useful whenever I've needed it. Getting it open is quick, and packing it away is straightforward. It does feel a bit light and flexible when spread out, so I wouldn't choose it for really rough weather . I can't judge years of use yet, but for the price it seems a reasonable buy.
Tristan Harris
An easy recommendation from me.
I'd had my eye on this for a while, and finally ordered when my old umbrella gave out. It feels sturdy and has dealt well with rain and blustery days. The appearance is a nice bonus; several people have commented on it while I've been carrying it. An easy recommendation from me.
Derek Mejia
The automatic opening is handy.
Good coverage - not one of those enormous golf umbrellas, but plenty for me and room for someone close beside me. It feels well put together, although I haven't had enough rainy days to judge long term. The folded size is a bit bigger than I pictured, which is my only real reservation. The automatic opening is handy. After a shake there's not much water left on the canopy, and the sleeve is useful once it's dry.As long as it lasts, I'd happily choose this one again.
Dillon Butler
A useful purchase, happy to recommend!
The package reached me in a week. For trips abroad I wanted an umbrella that wouldn't be awkward to carry around. This folds into a manageable length and goes in my travel bag. I like the feel of it and the quick opening. A useful purchase, happy to recommend!
Hannah Turner
I wouldn't rule it out if you are tall, either.
I wanted an automatically opening umbrella after using a manual one of much the same size. When you're outside at five in the morning, cold and trying to get shelter from the rain, not having to fiddle with opening it makes a difference. The size works well for me without being a big thing to carry once the rain stops. I wouldn't rule it out if you are tall, either. I angle it towards the rain rather than hold it straight overhead, and it gives decent cover over my head and shoulders.
Across the open canopy it is roughly 105cm, which is the useful measurement to me, not the distance over the curved top. The flexible ribs have some give rather than feeling completely rigid. In the breezy wet weather I've used it in so far, it has kept its shape and I have stayed dry underneath.
One press of the button gets it open, and pressing again draws the canopy in. After that I compress the telescoping section by hand to put it away. Straightforward once you know the sequence. My one thought for an improvement would be a small clear section to look through when I have the front tipped down against the rain. I still have to lift it a little to check where I'm going. Apart from that, it suits me very well. The old manual umbrella can stay in the car as a spare now, rather than being the one I reach for first.
Jasmine Hendricks
I've had this for almost an year.
I've had this for almost an year. The beige is subtle without looking boring, actually rather smart. It feels sturdy and there is a decent amount of cover, yet folded it still fits comfortably into my usual bag. One press opens it, another gathers the canopy, then I shorten the telescoping stem manually. Recently left it drying and managed to lose it (why did I walk away from it?). I'll be getting the same one again.
Warren Phelps
I would recommend it.
I value the construction and straightforward operation more than having the tiniest possible umbrella. The flexible ribs have felt reassuring in windy rain, and the materials seem good quality. I would recommend it.One note, it folds compactly but isn't a miniature pocket umbrella. For me that is a reasonable compromise for the coverage and the sturdier feel (having an umbrella turn inside out is very frustrating).
Jordan Finley
The finish and construction are very good.
The finish and construction are very good. There is plenty of coverage and it sits comfortably in my hand. Automatic opening is handy, though I do spend a moment feeling for the button beneath the folded material. Closing is straightforward too; another press folds the canopy, then I compress the stem by hand. The carry sleeve goes on easily. It feels like a substantial improvement over the umbrellas I've had before. For what I paid I am thoroughly pleased with it, and would happily choose it again.
Megan Mullins
Our family would buy them again without hesitation.
Two (2) of these have been in our family for a couple of years, and they're the ones everybody reaches for. The children actually object if I hand them a different umbrella, they want the one with the button operated canopy. The quality has impressed me and the plain styling works for all of us. Automatic opening and canopy closing are genuinely handy, not just something to put on the box. Our family would buy them again without hesitation.
Yolanda Joyce
The umbrella itself is lovely and feels reassuringly sturdy!
The outer box had taken quite a beating by the time my umbrella arrived - it was creased badly enough that I expected trouble. Fortunately, the umbrella inside was fine. I contacted the seller about the packaging and they were helpful, which I appreciated after seeing the state of the parcel. The umbrella itself is lovely and feels reassuringly sturdy! Rough handling of a parcel doesn't tell you much about the quality of what's inside, especially when this one came through it. I like how it looks and works, and wouldn't hesitate to suggest it to someone else!
Janet Cruz

This is honestly one of the nicest umbrellas I've had, mine turned up yesterday and with the amount of wet weather we get here a decent one is something you need, I can't stand fighting with an umbrella that turns inside out and this one feels a lot more substantial when its open.. I'm hoping to keep this for a long time and already thinking about another one to put aside... There was a little dust on the inside that I'll wipe off today, otherwise I'm just wanting a rainy afternoon so I can go for a walk and give it a proper try, I was that eager when the box came I unpacked it straight away, everything was packed nicely and I went outside to press the button and see it open, the Cream White is lovely and its just what I was hoping for. I'm even thinking of getting one for my daughter, she's staying with her dad at the moment where they don't see much rain, so maybe she wouldn't need it very often but at least she'd have a nice one ready like mine when she does need it... For anybody wanting a good umbrella that also looks pretty I would happily recommend this one.
