WOW. she absolutely loves this umbrella. my daughter keeps taking it round the house and out to play, even when there's no rain. i'd wanted a nice folding one myself but she picked this for Christmas. she's 6 and usually quite hard on umbrellas, this one is still looking good. cute and seems sturdy too.

Does it deal with ordinary rain?
For travelling, this is a sensible balance of folded size & useful cover. Is it a giant storm shelter? NO. Does it deal with ordinary rain? Yep. The button handles the canopy; pushing the shaft back in is your job. It'll pack along for a motorcycle camping trip without much fuss. Want a huge, heavy-duty beast? That's a different purchase and probably more $$$. This one does the portable umbrella job well.
Connie Rios
Nothing on the handle had given me trouble while I had it.
I thought the construction was good for a folding umbrella, although it's not the smallest thing to tuck away. The closing button was my favorite part! Much less juggling getting into the car when the canopy comes down with a press. After that I shortened the shaft by hand. Lost track of it on my last trip, unfortunately. Nothing on the handle had given me trouble while I had it. Whoever has it now, I hope they're enjoying it! I'd certainly consider a replacement!

Bigger opened out than I imagined.
Bigger opened out than I imagined. My fault I skimmed the description. Wondering where it will fit in my little bag. Feels very well made and didn't fold over in the wind I tried it in. Plenty of cover for me. I am small so I look like a walking umbrella with feet

Really pleased with this purchase!
I got this for my wife, who has a habit of losing umbrellas or breaking them. Closed up it goes into her bag easily, but there's plenty of room once it's open. Both of us have sheltered under it comfortably. We've been using it for a few months now, including during the storms we've had, and it's stayed in good shape. Really pleased with this purchase!

Good quality.
Recommended. This was my first time buying an umbrella online, and I am happy with what I chose. The appearance was what caught my eye in the pictures. The gray looks slightly different depending on the light, but I actually like it more in person, it is quite understated. The handle is a noticeable part of the design without making the whole umbrella look silly.Overall the frame feels solid and the fabric sits neatly when it is opened. Good quality. Manageable to carry, although it is not one of those tiny featherweight umbrellas. I should mention the oval handle feels different from a straight grip; I needed to find a comfortable position for my fingers rather than just grab it any old way. Once held properly it feels secure. The sleeve is useful for keeping it together in a bag, not something I would expect to carry over my shoulder. It opens smoothly with the button and gives a decent amount of cover for one person. I would not describe it as a big umbrella for sharing, which is worth keeping in mind if size matters to you. For my own use the balance of folded size and coverage is very good.

I can recommend for buying.
Have had some use out of it now and all is well. It copes with a breeze without feeling flimsy. I saw comments about the weight, but for me it is quite normal; the one I used before was heavier. The only thing is the carry sleeve, or whatever you call it, needs a tidy fold to get it back in, but that doesn't bother me much. I can recommend for buying.
Loretta Case
I can hold it comfortably and keep myself dry, no fuss.
With all the backpacking I do, I've wanted an umbrella that wasn't flimsy or a nuisance to take along. This has been great for hanging about camp or just chillin out in a field while it's wet. I can hold it comfortably and keep myself dry, no fuss. Planning to get one for my second cousin, who's keen to start spending more time outdoors like me. Should make a useful birthday present for him.And the price doesn't hurt either. Not at all

My issue was simply the weight for carrying around.
I wanted an umbrella I wouldn't notice carrying because, you know, it's an umbrella, not the main event. Gray was fine; having another thing in my hand? Less exciting. My issue was simply the weight for carrying around. Not that it is some enormous monster, but I am picky about what I want to lug about when it might rain and might not. If you're happy carrying a substantial-feeling umbrella, you'll probably wonder what I'm going on about. Fair enough. I would still have preferred something that felt almost weightless. The useful part is that the loop lets me clip it to my bag instead of holding it, which sorted out that annoyance for me. Once I did that I was quite content taking it along, and as an umbrella it opens easily and keeps the rain off just fine. So, a satisfactory umbrella, even if my first reaction to carrying it wasn't enthusiastic.

After a few weeks of opening it for them it still feels sturdy.
My twin girls are 20 months and think umbrellas are the best things ever. This one has been a big hit, they both want a turn with it...so I've bought a second! After a few weeks of opening it for them it still feels sturdy. No proper rain test yet, just lots of excited walks round the apartment building with me holding it.
Summer Gilbert
People have remarked on how pretty it is, which is lovely.
One of my medications means I'm supposed to stay out of direct sunshine, and I wanted something nicer to carry than a purely practical rain umbrella. This gives me a bit of shade and still looks feminine when I'm out. People have remarked on how pretty it is, which is lovely. I feel quite elegant walking with it. Just what I hoped for.
Bobby Mcintosh
The sleeve is handy for carrying it when it's folded.
I've had this out in heavy rain with plenty of wind and it has kept its shape and kept me dry. The sleeve is handy for carrying it when it's folded. Heavier than a basic folding umbrella, and not exactly cheap, but I'm glad I spent the money! This one is my spare now, with another at home and one in the car. They have been very useful to have around.

Needed a replacement for the umbrella I'd carried for years.
Needed a replacement for the umbrella I'd carried for years. The main thing was having something small enough for my briefcase, with a button to open it. This meets those needs and I like the overall design. I'm less convinced I need the button for closing the canopy, especially as the stem still needs pushing in afterwards. A good first impression, though I'll reserve judgment on how long it lasts.
Sheri Cruz
That wasn't very easy.
Bought this as a Christmas present for my mom because she'd been after an umbrella that felt a bit more substantial. I can't say how it behaves in wind yet, since I don't think she's taken it out in the weather. In the house it looked nicely put together, and the fabric had a lovely smooth feel. I did try it before wrapping it, and putting the sleeve back on was the fiddly bit. You need to get the fabric folded fairly neatly around it rather than just bunching it up. I managed once I'd tidied it all, but when my mom had a look she just gathered the canopy together and tried to slide the sleeve over. That wasn't very easy. So a nice umbrella overall, just a cover that doesn't give you much room to be messy.
Chloe Allison
The loop handle feels a little small for bigger hands.
I keep a few umbrellas in the cars and have passed some on as presents. The construction is the main reason I like this one; it feels substantial rather than flimsy. That also means some extra weight, so it is usually left in the car instead of being carried on every walk just in case of a shower. It has coped well with the breezes I've used it in, although a sturdy frame cannot stop rain coming at you sideways. You can still end up with wet trousers when the rain is blowing about. The loop handle feels a little small for bigger hands. Overall a useful portable umbrella, provided you don't expect it to be weightless or to shelter every part of you.
Sylvia Mcconnell
So it has passed the important test.
For anyone wanting to confuse the children: cover a hole in the beach with this and announce you've found the world's smallest shortcut. Not a genuine travel recommendation, obviously. Mostly I just wanted a nice umbrella for my sister-in-law, and she liked it enough to send a thankyou message. So it has passed the important test. A little bulkier than expected, otherwise a cheerful present that keeps her dry. No actual portal included.
Shawn Velazquez
It's a lovely shade without being too showy.
I went with beige for this umbrella and I'm delighted with how it looks. It's a lovely shade without being too showy. The price made me pause, since I mainly wanted something for shade rather than another rain umbrella. Having it in hand, though, I'm happy I went ahead. Ordering was straightforward and it arrived without any trouble.(Always nice when something looks as good in person as you hoped).Open, it gives me a comfortable patch of shade without feeling enormous to walk around with. It's about the size I'd expect for one person, so I don't feel as though I'm taking over the pavement. The oval handle isn't the traditional style I usually go for, but feels solid and suits the compact design.I really enjoy using this. For a lower price I'd be tempted to have a few different colours.
Yvonne Carroll
I picked pink and it is cheerful without needing any fancy design.
With children to get in and out of the car, an umbrella that I can open with one hand is a real help. Press the button and there is some cover while I get the baby sorted, instead of trying to juggle everything in the rain. It isn't a family sized golf umbrella, so I wouldn't expect all the children to shelter under it together, but for me and a little one it is useful. My husband and son play golf and both thought it felt nicely made too. I picked pink and it is cheerful without needing any fancy design. We've had enough downpours lately to appreciate having this close by. It folds away neatly afterwards, which is another reason I think we'll keep using it for a long time.

My little 2 year old daughter is delighted with this umbrella.
My little 2 year old daughter is delighted with this umbrella. She likes watching it pop open, though I work the button and finish folding it away for her. The beige is very cute. It gives her lots of cover, just not something I'd expect her to manage on her own yet.

Fine for short walks in the park or around the neighborhood.
Fine for short walks in the park or around the neighborhood. The loop handle feels less comfortable in my hand than I'd hoped, especially when carrying it a while. Was expecting something easier to hold. nothing actually wrong with the umbrella, it keeps the rain off, but I don't reach for it as much as I thought I would.
Meghan Bridges
Solidly made and gives useful shade.
Solidly made and gives useful shade. I wouldn't say a hot day suddenly feels cool underneath it, but getting out of direct sunshine helps a lot. I use mine outdoors regularly and it still feels sturdy. The outside has picked up a few marks with use, which is a shame. Despite that, I'd be quite willing to buy the same umbrella again.
Katrina Benitez
It arrived promptly.
It was a present, so I haven't used it myself and can only go by what I've been told. The price was reasonable next to others I looked at. It arrived promptly. The person I sent it to liked the Pink and thought it looked quite smart. A few weeks on they've had nothing bad to report, which is encouraging.

Out in breezy rain this has been a very capable umbrella.
Out in breezy rain this has been a very capable umbrella. I've walked along quite comfortably on occasions when people nearby were wrestling with theirs. The plain black finish is also much more my taste than anything bright. After roughly six to eight months, the opening button is still working smoothly and the frame feels sound. However, packing it away isn't quite as effortless as using it. I have to take time smoothing the canopy into neat folds before getting it into the sleeve. If I simply gather it up, it makes a bulky bundle and the sleeve is a struggle. I don't use it constantly, either. So overall I'm pleased with how it shelters me, but wish putting it away were a bit less of a fuss.

Pros: For keeping the sun off, this has been very good.
Pros: For keeping the sun off, this has been very good. Living in a desert climate, I notice a considerable difference between walking under the canopy and just tolerating the direct sunlight. It doesn't make the air cool, obviously, but the shade is welcome, and the underside makes the light feel less harsh. That becomes more important the longer I am outside. It is fairly broad when opened, considering how far it folds down. One person has comfortable coverage; sharing is possible, although it requires a certain willingness to stand close together.
Cons: During extensive use, the closing routine takes a little more effort than I initially expected. Pressing the button collapses the canopy, after which the telescoping shaft has to be pushed back by hand. Nothing is malfunctioning, but when I am opening and closing it repeatedly, that extra step becomes noticeable. I am less concerned about whether it works than whether I want to keep doing that several dozen times over a long session. Additionally, it feels quite substantial in the hand. That is reassuring in one respect, although less appealing after holding it up for a prolonged stretch. Folding it neatly enough to put back in the sleeve also takes a moment rather than being entirely effortless.
On balance, I think it is a good product for the price. For someone wanting an umbrella for occasional shade and everyday rain, the size and convenience would make it an easy choice. My reservations are mostly about using it for hours at a time. It is perfectly usable that way, but the weight and the repeated manual reset matter more to me than they probably would to someone using it less intensively.
Diane Gentry
Much tidier in the bag than having a loose umbrella rattling around.
It goes in the small tote I use every day without crowding out my e-reader. Still room for the other bits too! I like being able to give it a shake after rain and let it finish drying before slipping it into the sleeve. Much tidier in the bag than having a loose umbrella rattling around.
Jasmine Ford
both times it was fine, not had any wind to really try it in.
Has a bit of weight to it,but I suppose that's part of having a more solid umbrella.Only taken it out twice so can't say a lot yet. both times it was fine, not had any wind to really try it in. I am happy with it at the moment and will come back after using it longer to say how it holds up.
Darin Mathis
The quality was a nice surprise too.
The looks were what made us choose these. The quality was a nice surprise too. Really nicely made. The button is handy and they feel solid when opened. Enough shade for sitting in the bleachers watching softball on a sunny afternoon, without feeling like we've brought some enormous umbrella along with us. Love them!
Tristan Murray
we would definitely recommend it!
this has become our favorite umbrella for going out with our toddler. it looks like the photo and seems nicely put together. there is more room underneath than with the little children's umbrellas, so it's easier to keep our toddler covered while we hold it. it feels well made too. we would definitely recommend it!

For the price I feel I've done GOOD here :^)
I ordered the pink one for me, not to give away, and I am SO happy with it! Been wanting a pink umbrella that didn't feel like it would be finished after a couple of uses. Some I've looked at felt awfully flimsy for what they cost. This one feels like money well spent. It has a nice solid feel when it's open and the closed loop handle fits my hand nicely, not something I'm forever changing my grip on. For something that folds down this small it gives a good amount of cover, too. It's manageable to carry, which matters when you're standing beside the car in the rain doing that ridiculous search through your bag for the keys! I can put it up with the button and get on with finding them instead of wrestling with the umbrella as well. Another thing for me is being able to hold it comfortably while keeping an eye on what's around me. I hold it a little higher so I can see ahead rather than burying my face under it. With a seven year old to watch, and a first grandbaby coming along soon, I'm always looking in several directions anyway! Little practical things count. The pink is pretty without being too much and I'm glad I picked it for myself first. Now I know what it's like, I would happily get one for somebody I'm stuck choosing a present for. Useful for a teacher, useful for just about anybody really. For the price I feel I've done GOOD here :^)

Arrived when it was supposed to.
Arrived when it was supposed to. The children have given it a proper try playing outside in the rain. It has coped well, even when the wind picked up, and kept them dry. Very good value in my opinion. I'd certainly recommend it, we're all happy with this umbrella.
Wayne Underwood
Absolutely adore this umbrella!!
Absolutely adore this umbrella!! It's such a cheerful change from all the gloomy ones around. The beige is simple but pretty, and I've had smiles from people when I turn up with it. Why should wet weather mean everything has to look miserable? A little lift on a rainy day :)The automatic action is the other thing I love. Press for the canopy to open, press again to bring it in, then shorten the shaft by hand. Getting into the car is much easier. I really don't miss wrestling the whole canopy down myself.
Eric Berg
For what it cost I think it is a lovely buy.
Years ago I spotted an umbrella in a fancy shop window and loved it, but couldn't justify the price. My husband remembered and surprised me with this one about eight years later. Such a thoughtful surprise!!! The black looks smart and I love how neatly it folds away. Its put together well, works smoothly, and gives me enough cover. It folds small enough for my bigger purse too. For what it cost I think it is a lovely buy. I'm delighted to finally have it!
Kristina Higgins
Carrying a long umbrella around all day when it's dry pisses me off.
I wanted an umbrella I could leave in my bag, but still have enough cover when the rain starts. This one gets that right for me! Carrying a long umbrella around all day when it's dry pisses me off. Here I can tuck it away and forget about it until needed.Besides, the frame seems solid for what I spent and it doesn't feel like a flimsy emergency umbrella. I'd recommend it!
Emma Gamble
My reservation is the folded size.
Umbrellas are one of those things I keep needing and then getting annoyed with. They seem straightforward enough until you are out in the rain, trying to keep your shoulders dry without spending the whole walk adjusting what you are holding. Being able to fold one into a small space is useful, but not if you feel barely sheltered once it is open.
The little folding ones I have used have often been disappointing when a breeze gets underneath them. I have also tried larger golf umbrellas, which give you more cover but are a nuisance to carry when the rain stops. There is also the business of lowering the edge for shelter and then having to peer around it to see your way.
I remembered the deeper, clear umbrellas from when I was a child. You could get underneath those properly and still see through the material. That memory made me think more about how an umbrella actually covers you, rather than choosing whichever one takes up the least space. I did not particularly want another full-length umbrella, though, so there was always going to be a compromise.
After looking around, I settled on this pink one. It is obviously a different arrangement from those clear childhood umbrellas, but the open canopy gives me a useful amount of shelter without having a long umbrella to carry afterwards.
In ordinary rain it has been considerably less frustrating than some of my previous small umbrellas. I can walk normally rather than constantly moving it from one side to the other. Pressing a button to open it is handy, and the canopy folds down with the button too, although the shaft still needs pushing back in by hand. That part is straightforward once you know what to expect.
My reservation is the folded size. It fits in my bag, but it is not something that disappears into a tiny corner, and I notice it there. I would not describe it as the answer to every irritation I have had with umbrellas. Still, the balance between coverage and portability is sensible, and for everyday use I think it is a good choice.

Not a tiny toddler umbrella but with us beside her it works great!
Our two year old is delighted with this umbrella!!! She thinks shes such a big girl carrying it. The oval handle is her favourite part, and she hangs on with both hands while we help her keep it steady. She can't manage opening or packing it away herself yet, her five year old sister always wants to help. Not a tiny toddler umbrella but with us beside her it works great!
Wayne Rodgers
Pros: Good value.
Mine has been out quite a lot over the past few months, in the sort of wet, windy weather we get here. It's coped better than the umbrellas I've used before and I'm happy with what I paid.Cons: You still feel the gusts.Pros: Good value. Packs small. Button opens and shuts the canopy. Manageable to carry. Best of all, I haven't had it turn inside out!
Edward Moore
My other small quibble concerns the button.
I've been using this umbrella long enough now to have carried it through spring showers, heavy summer rain, windy autumn weather and a spell of sleet. It hasn't developed that tired look umbrellas sometimes get after a few outings. The fabric looks good, all the rib ends are still seated properly, and the mechanism feels as dependable as it did at the beginning. It has also coped nicely with gusts between buildings without flipping over on me. If you spend much time walking along city streets in the rain, you'll understand why I appreciate that quite so much.
The open size strikes a very sensible balance -- I have enough coverage without feeling as though I'm taking up the whole pavement. Passing other people with umbrellas isn't an elaborate exercise in dodging and tilting. The Cream White is lovely, too, and I've had several people comment on it. Some notice the colour, others just like how it looks overall. It's nice to have something practical that doesn't look purely practical.
There are a couple of details I'd alter to suit myself, given the choice. One is where my hand sits in relation to the canopy. I'm 5'2", and although the oval loop is quite usable, I sometimes find it more comfortable to grip a little higher up the shaft. This isn't a problem unique to this umbrella; I seem to want a slightly different proportion from most of the ones I pick up (perhaps umbrellas are another thing designed with taller people in mind).
My other small quibble concerns the button. Closing the canopy with it is easy, and I then compress the shaft manually. When I'm gathering the fabric and fastening the umbrella, though, my fingers have occasionally found the button again and opened it at precisely the wrong moment. Keeping my hand away from it while dealing with wet fabric takes a little care. I can't honestly decide whether I'd move the button or simply ask for less clumsy hands. Its position is very handy when I actually want to use it.
Neither point has stopped this becoming my favourite umbrella. For the things that matter to me -- staying dry, holding together and being manageable on a crowded walk -- it has been excellent.
Beth Cole
I like this as a sun umbrella.
I like this as a sun umbrella. The black looks smart rather than frilly, and being able to collapse it makes it much easier to carry. Getting the fabric folded neatly enough for the sleeve is another matter, I haven't mastered that yet. Still small enough to take along without it, and I feel quite cute carrying it while keeping the sun off me.
Andrew Stevenson
First umbrella I've had with a button, and I'm loving it!
First umbrella I've had with a button, and I'm loving it! It has kept those fine rain drops off me nicely. I tend to be gentle with the moving bits because they look delicate, but everything has behaved so far with no problems. People have commented on how cute it looks too, which is a nice little bonus!
Jonathan Blankenship
Really good construction!
Honestly! Keeping one umbrella for five or six years is a record for me. This lives in my bag and has been all over Europe with me. It's getting grubby now, so I'm thinking about another, not because it's stopped working. Really good construction! I don't see much reason to change when this has served me so well.

Got these in gray for the wedding party because rain was in the forecast. We ended up with dry weather, so they never had to do rain duty, but i was really pleased with how they looked. A useful size without being huge and they would have been lovely in the photos!
Susan Mcdowell
There is enough room underneath to feel properly covered in rain.
A good size for one person without having to huddle right under the middle. The button sends it up quickly and the canopy comes down with another press, then I push the stem in to pack it away. There is enough room underneath to feel properly covered in rain. I like the beige, and the sleeve slips on without much bother. It feels solid in use and the ribs have some flex rather than feeling brittle. My one reservation is the folded length. Even though it is a compact umbrella, it won't go in the bag I normally carry, so I have to carry it separately. That hasn't put me off it. For the coverage and how smoothly it works, I'm very pleased with this umbrella.
Bruce Holder
Great for making a little shade as well as rain.
Friends saw mine and liked it enough to get their own. My wife misplaced hers and didn't wait long to replace it. Great for making a little shade as well as rain. Hold it toward the sun and there's still air moving around you, rather than feeling all closed in
Samantha Bush
The coverage is sensible for one person.
Nearly a year of keeping this in the car and it's still working as it did at the start. It has been out a lot, although I wouldn't pretend I've tested it in truly extreme weather. The button has never stuck on mine. A press opens it, another gathers the canopy, and I slide the shaft back down myself. Nothing about that routine has been troublesome.
Folded, it's rather bigger than what I picture when someone says a compact umbrella. I wouldn't pick it for a small purse, but beside the front seat it fits fine. The coverage is sensible for one person. Two can huddle under it in gentle rain, but once rain is coming sideways, don't expect your pants and shoes to stay completely dry. There is only so much a handheld umbrella can cover. I've stayed dry across my head and shoulders and haven't noticed water seeping through the material. It also seems to dry out fairly quickly afterwards. There's a larger umbrella in the trunk, but I generally grab this one because it's already within reach.
I've gone through several little umbrellas over the years, and most felt like something I would be replacing before long. Having one compact that actually lasted made me pay more attention to what I was buying rather than treating them all as disposable. This has been a good choice on that score. I don't bash it around or leave it wet and bundled up for days, but it isn't being kept on a shelf either. I can only speak for the one I've used, not what happened to anybody else's. For a car umbrella that gets taken out regularly, it has earned its place--

Arrived quickly too
Feels reassuringly solid in your hand — not like something you have to baby. The mechanism is smooth, it's coped nicely with wind and rain, and I've stayed dry beneath it. The cream white looks clean and understated, which is exactly my sort of thing. Nothing loud about it, just a good looking umbrella that feels built for regular use. I can see myself keeping this around for ages rather than wishing I'd bought something better. Arrived quickly too
Linda Burnett
A good buy overall.
I've had this for a little over a year now (the beige was what caught my eye...) and it's had plenty of use. Initially the fabric and moving parts seemed alright, rather than anything I'd call "premium", so I wasn't expecting much life from it... Yet it's still opening and closing properly and the color has stayed nice. I wouldn't take it out in really strong gusts, obviously, but for the ordinary rain and breezes I've used it in, its been fine. A good buy overall.
Calvin Osborne
Looks strong and neatly finished.
Looks strong and neatly finished. A press opens it and another folds the canopy, but afterwards the shaft must be pushed down by hand to make the compact bundle. That seems straightforward enough. Waiting for some rain to give it a proper try, then may get a second.
Sonya Richardson
I still like having that little patch of shade with me.
Living in Asia got me into the habit of carrying an umbrella for shade after seeing women in Seoul do it. I still like having that little patch of shade with me. People often comment on this one when I'm out. The green is lovely and the simple shape looks quite graceful.
Katelyn Carney
would happily recommend for everyday use.
never thought a folding umbrella would give me this much cover. its rainy season here in atlanta and i wanted something better than the cheap one i had before. i ended up with four, one stays at work and the others go in the cars. really happy with how well these are made, and the sleeve is useful for keeping one tucked away. the button opens it cleanly and the whole thing feels substantial. would happily recommend for everyday use.

nothing with really strong wind so far.
Only needed this umbrella a couple of times since getting it, and that was in fairly steady rain; nothing with really strong wind so far. It has done exactly what I needed. Simple to operate, It feels well made and the opening button is handy. I haven't had the chance to find out how it behaves when the weather gets rougher, so I can't say much about that yet. From using it so far though, I've got a good feeling about it.
