This has coped pretty well with windy weather so far.

I had got fed up buying another umbrella every couple of months, so wanted something better made. This has coped pretty well with windy weather so far. A bit big when folded, yes, but I like the room when it's up, so good and bad. I like having the button for opening and closing too. What I don't like is needing to push the shaft back down by hand before it will open again. That is the normal reset, but quite a bother getting on/off a crowded bus. I would prefer to just close the canopy and reopen straight away. Also wish there was a floral choice among the colours.

The closed oval handle is easy to grip without a hook sticking out.

The 30 flexible ribs give the frame a solid feel, although I'd still be cautious in strong gusts. The button opens it and folds the canopy closed, then you press the telescoping pole down yourself. It fits neatly into the sleeve when packed away. The underside is black and there is a decent amount of room beneath it for one person. The closed oval handle is easy to grip without a hook sticking out.Cream white looks good, and it doesn't have that hollow, flimsy feeling.Pros:-Button opening and canopy closing.-Flexible frame.-Useful loop handle.-Carry sleeve.Cons:-Not the lightest compact umbrella, though the extra weight doesn't bother me much.

Thanks for an umbrella that's stood up to life in our house.

we've had ours nearly two years now and it's doing so well! The button is very, very simple to use. Even my young boys manage it without any trouble. I've been wanting another because this one has been so useful..that says enough really! Thanks for an umbrella that's stood up to life in our house.

Reasonably compact and has coped well with breezy rain.

After a couple of years mine still works as smoothly as it did at first. Some parts look fairly basic, but the whole thing feels solid. The button opens it quickly and closes the canopy just as neatly. Reasonably compact and has coped well with breezy rain. I'd happily get another.

the umbrella itself is solid, really solid.

had this since last year and its still going strong. the umbrella itself is solid, really solid. not as excited about the sleeve but thats just the sleeve. i get comments on it and the loop handle gets people asking questions. anyway i love using it. my lil brother and me have even waved it around pretending we're fencing hahahha. not what its meant for i know. after all the carrying about it still looks good and does the job in rain. i like a thing that lasts instead of looking nice for a week. would recommend it, just remember its an umbrella not a sword lol. good one

I'm ridiculously happy over an umbrella.

The whole look of this umbrella feels so smart and a little dressy. That oval handle is gorgeous and comfortable to hold! Best of all I can press a button to fold the canopy instead of wrestling with a metal catch, which is usually where I manage to pinch a finger. Then I just push the pole in by hand. 5/5 from me for something useful that still feels stylish. I'm ridiculously happy over an umbrella. A definite YES!

Handy for someone like me who has to be careful in the sun.

Handy for someone like me who has to be careful in the sun. i like keeping an umbrella in my larger bag so it is there when i need it. i was hoping for something a bit flatter folded and this one is rounder than that but the feel of the frame and fabric is good. the sleeve keeps it all together nicely for storage i like having that rather than leaving folded material loose with everything else. it makes a pleasant shady patch when opened which is the main thing i was after. the size seems right for one person not something i'd expect to share. it looks quite suitable for a light shower too but i can't say much about long term use yet i would call it a good value everyday umbrella.

Bethany Kidd

A decent umbrella overall.

A decent umbrella overall. One press sends it up, another brings the canopy together. You still have to push the shaft back down by hand, and that movement could be smoother. Nothing wrong with how it works though. Better quality than the cheap umbrellas I've used before.

Spring in the Pacific Northwest is pretty much rain.....

Spring in the Pacific Northwest is pretty much rain.....then more rain with some wind thrown in. This one has managed the breezy days I've used it for, though I havent tested it in a proper storm. The canopy gives me decent cover without being awkward to carry.

Nice sturdy feel, a great choice for her!

My granddaughter is in kindergarten and was so excited to have her umbrella! She can open it with the button, then press again to bring the canopy down. I help push the shaft back in afterwards. The sleeve is handy once it's dry. Nice sturdy feel, a great choice for her!

Sheryl Wood

Very, very nice umbrella!

Excellent! The umbrella made a very good impression straight away. The fabric has a substantial feel, the stitching looks tidy, and the whole thing seems much nicer than I expected at this price. Nothing about it feels flimsy. There are plenty of flexible ribs supporting the canopy, and it opens with a really positive action. Pressing the button again gathers the canopy in, then I push the shaft down to put it away. That part is simple enough. The handle is especially clever, a closed oval loop that can clip onto a bag or a belt loop rather than leaving me carrying it in my hand all the time. It feels secure to hold too. I am very impressed and already thinking about getting another couple. Very, very nice umbrella! I would happily recommend it.

It has kept us dry on our walks so far.

Brilliant! My wife and I wanted to share rather than carry an umbrella each, and this works for us if we walk close together. It has kept us dry on our walks so far. The construction seems really good as well. Hoping to get plenty of use from it. Money well spent .

Kristy Weeks

We needed it several times through the day.

Ordered this once we heard a storm was due on the Saturday of our daughters wedding. We needed it several times through the day. There was a real down pour when we came out of the hair salon, but her hair stayed dry. Used it again while getting a few quick outdoor pictures of the bride and groom. It was exactly what we needed on a day when the weather wasn't helping.

The frame feels solid and hasn't blown inside out on my rainy walks.

It gives me good cover around my head without having to hold it so low I can't see ahead. The frame feels solid and hasn't blown inside out on my rainy walks. Everything looks put together properly. I think I'll get a long use out of it. Already reached for it quite a few times.

Very pleased with this umbrella

My mother gave this umbrella to my daughter when she was four and she is seven now, so it has had a lot of use. The first couple of years she wanted it out whenever there was even a suggestion of rain. Half the time there was barely anything falling but that didn't stop her! What impressed me was how well it handled being used by a little kid. She isn't gentle with her things and I was expecting it to look worn much sooner than it did. It has been a really good purchase and something she was always excited to take along, rather than something I had to remind her about. WORTH EVERY PENNY FOR US!!!! She is hard on nearly everything she owns but this has lasted far better than I expected!!! Very pleased with this umbrella

2/ enough coverage for me

My list for an umbrella was 1/ a button so I could open it quickly; 2/ enough coverage for me; 3/ something that would go in most of my purses, and 4/ a change from my usual plain one. This has pretty much ticked those boxes. The cream white appeals to me and I enjoy how quickly it opens. It fits my purses well (although I notice the extra weight); the coverage is good for a compact umbrella, not what I get from my enormous golf one! Not a complaint- just a comparison. I could see myself getting another colour as well.

Jamie Murphy

My grandson thinks this is a very smart umbrella.

My grandson thinks this is a very smart umbrella. He's 10 and being "cool" matters rather a lot now. The neat look apparently passes the test, and he can tuck it into his school backpack. His friends like it too, so I'm enjoying my brief spell as the cool Grandma :-)

Carolyn Mcbride

The black underneath is noticeable, of course, while the cream…

The black underneath is noticeable, of course, while the cream white outside looks very nice, it folds into quite a small bundle and at first I thought it might be flimsy, but using it changed my mind, feels as solid as my regular umbrella and goes back in the sleeve nicely for carrying in case of rain.

Nancy Collins

Best umbrella I've had in ages!

Best umbrella I've had in ages!I've used my older one for about five years and really appreciate this handle. The oval loop is easy to keep hold of. My favourite part is pressing a button to open it or bring the canopy down, so much easier when my hands are busy.

Ariel Hendricks

Pretty, roomy and so easy to use.

Pretty, roomy and so easy to use. I wanted something that looked nice but wouldn't be a nuisance to carry and this has been just right. The beige is lovely in person. It been wet here lately so I've had lots of use out of it already. I can't stand umbrellas that make a simple job difficult when you're trying to get into the car. This feels like decent quality and the button makes that part easier. Exactly the sort of straightforward thing I wanted.

Shane Velasquez

Then I push the telescoping part down myself.

Living in the rainy Northwest, I appreciate an umbrella that's easy to manage. I can sit down in the car and press the button to collapse the canopy instead of leaning back out to wrestle with it. Then I push the telescoping part down myself. There's a sleeve for putting it away later, and the closed loop on the handle is handy for hanging it from a hook.

Briana Roberts

I'm happy with how sturdy it feels.

People seem to have something nice to say whenever I carry this umbrella, usually a couple of comments. The loop handle is what gets noticed and it looks pretty badass for an everyday umbrella. It's solidly put together too. I've used it folded up to nudge the door handle from my chair because I couldn't be bothered to stand up. Probably not its intended purpose, but it's put up with my laziness without any fuss. I'm happy with how sturdy it feels. In fairness, I've only actually been caught in the rain with it a few times, so most of my opinion is from carrying it around.

Gabrielle Deleon

The size works well for getting about in the city.

The size works well for getting about in the city. It comes with a sleeve, which is handy for keeping it together when I'm carrying it. We've had fairly ordinary rain so far (and it has kept me dry enough). I haven't had the chance to find out how it handles a really blustery day yet.

Janice Kerr

Feels like a proper strong umbrella and looks good as well.

Have only had umbrella for a couple days and my wife has already claimed it as a favourite. I ordered it because she's tired of flimsy ones and awkward closing catches. The button does make things easier and the blue looks very nice. She did point out two little things. Once the canopy has folded, pressing the stem down into its handle needs a fairly firm push. There's also a little more weight than with her usual folding umbrellas, but not enough to bother her much. Those aren't big complaints, she is very happy overall. Feels like a proper strong umbrella and looks good as well.

James Clayton

In most respects it does exactly what I wanted from my old umbrella.

I had an automatic umbrella that I loved and managed to lose it on a family vacation. When I went looking for a replacement, this was the one I chose. I was a little unsure at first because the handle was different from what I had before, and I wanted the same familiar feel. After using it for a while I've decided the difference is actually a good thing. The oval loop gives me a secure hold and I don't feel as though it is about to slip when the wind picks up. In most respects it does exactly what I wanted from my old umbrella. I still have the convenient button operation, and now I rather like the handle I was doubtful about.

Bobby Haney

Anyway, she was happy with it, so it was a good choice.

Wife likes blue & needed a smaller umbrella to leave in her car. We chose this as a Christmas gift from our five-year-old grandkid. Just an umbrella, really - but I would NOT call it flimsy....seems pretty well put together when you handle it. She likes the color and it folds away neatly. Anyway, she was happy with it, so it was a good choice.

Sean Barker

People have commented on how nice it looks when I'm using it.

I had asked for this as a gift and was glad to receive it. Feels nicely put together, though I wouldn't say it's tougher than every other umbrella. What sold me was the appearance, especially the tidy black underside. People have commented on how nice it looks when I'm using it.

I am careful not to expect miracles in severe weather.

I've had mine for a couple of years and it comes along on almost all of my walks. For something I carry that often the construction has held up remarkably well. The ribs have some give to them, which I appreciate when the wind catches it, and the canopy still looks sound after being opened and packed away over and over. I cover at least ten miles most weeks, so it gets used rather than sitting by the door. Rain is the main reason for carrying it, but on sunny walks it makes useful shade too. I am careful not to expect miracles in severe weather. It has earned its place among the things I take out every day!

Mark Santiago

The umbrella has been a good performer.

The umbrella has been a good performer. Opened out, it gives decent coverage for one adult, with room to tuck someone close for a quick walk from the car to the office. It is useful standing at the side of a child's game too. The flexible ribs seem to help it stay steady when there is some wind. I'd be inclined to give it five stars except for the handle. The oval loop feels a little cramped in my hand, and I would prefer more room to get a comfortable grip on wetter, blustery days.

Julie Krause

Never really used one for shade before.

Not sure the photos really show the shape when it's open, but there is more cover than I expected from looking at it folded. I tried it on a hot, sticky afternoon right after a thunderstorm. The rain hadn't done much for the humidity and I was half expecting standing underneath to feel like being in a little tent. Never really used one for shade before. It didn't make that stuffy feeling I had imagined, just kept the sun off, and I was very pleased. Me and my two kids can squeeze underneath when needed, and it has a sleeve for putting it away.

Justin Davis

These are lovely, only wish they folded a little shorter for my bag.

I ordered one each for myself and a friend, both of us very delighted with them. Might get another friend a beige one now. These are lovely, only wish they folded a little shorter for my bag. I am forever leaving an umbrella somewhere and carrying it in my bag would help.

Steven Logan

I had pictured something bigger when I read the size, so opening…

I had pictured something bigger when I read the size, so opening it was a little disappointing. Really I should have checked the dimensions properly before choosing it.The green is just what I wanted for a gift and it feels well made. For one person there's enough cover, but I wouldn't choose it for sharing. On the whole I'm happy with it and would consider another from this maker.

Michaela Owen

A solid umbrella with useful coverage for both rain and shade.

A solid umbrella with useful coverage for both rain and shade. I have taken it along for company golf outings and it looks quite smart without being flashy. We have a few larger umbrellas already and this one is a more manageable option to carry, although it does not give quite the same spread. The gray is nice, if a little plainer in person than I pictured. One point to consider – it is not the smallest thing once folded. After using it a few times I decided it suited a larger bag better than the small space I had in mind. That is a preference rather than a fault with it. The frame seems sturdy and it has done what I needed so far, so overall I think it is a good umbrella.

Jonathon Campos

Definitely worth the space!

Added this to my carry-on luggage since it would fit in one of the compartments. A good decision! Got caught in proper rain in southern France and was grateful to have it with me. Kept me dry, and a couple of people who'd left umbrellas at home borrowed it too. Much nicer travelling when you're not soaked. Definitely worth the space!

Janice Beck

My two year old is quite taken with this umbrella.

My two year old is quite taken with this umbrella. She wants to carry it through the house and bring it to the car whenever we leave. It still looks good after all that attention. I was worried about little fingers before buying, so I do the opening and putting away while she watches. It's a full size umbrella when open, not a tiny child's one, but she enjoys having it along. The button is convenient for me and the cover is a good size. Overall very pleased with it.

Maxwell Horn

For me alone it's a good size.

Looks smart and feels nicely made, but I did picture something a bit wider. I was hoping my husband and I could stop taking separate umbrellas, and this is snug when we're both under it. For me alone it's a good size. I still like the look of it, so overall I'm happy with the purchase.

Mitchell Rush

The button operation is very handy and works properly.

Really nice looking, a good size and straightforward to open and close. It looks good in person and can cover two standing close. The blue is a little softer than the picture suggested. The reason I haven't given five stars is the length of the shaft. I thought it would be longer, and some extra reach would suit me better. The button operation is very handy and works properly. Pressing it extends the umbrella and opens the canopy ready to use. Press it again and the canopy folds down, but you still need to push the shaft back into the handle yourself. It takes a fairly firm push to get it packed down, although I don't think that takes away from the convenience of the automatic opening and canopy closing.

Terry Rojas

I hope to be using it for a long time.

When I first saw the folded umbrella, I thought it was smaller and somewhat lighter than the pictures had made me imagine, so it surprised me a little. After opening it, however, there was a reasonable amount of room and it seemed quite suitable for an adult man. There has not been rain yet, so I cannot give an opinion about how the fabric will last in use. I hope to be using it for a long time. The handle is quite easy to get a grip on and operating it is straightforward. Compared with the prices I have seen in Korea, I think the cost was fairly reasonable.

Carly Solomon

Pretty happy with that decision.

I'd got pretty fed up with a small folding umbrella being handy to pack but not much use for covering everything. Getting my shoulders underneath left my work bag sticking out in the rain. Moving it across to protect the bag just meant getting wet somewhere else. So I decided to, err.. spend a bit more on this one. Pretty happy with that decision. The main advantage for me is having a reasonably broad canopy without a long umbrella to cart about afterwards. Folded it's about 40cm, which still goes into the laptop bag I use for a 15" laptop. There is more room underneath than with my old compact, without so much shifting it from side to side. The material has kept the water off, the loop handle feels substantial and the button has behaved as it should for opening and closing the canopy. You push the shaft back down yourself afterwards. My reservation is a small amount of movement in the spring-loaded sliding part when it is open. There is a little bounce as I walk along, which makes me wonder how tight it'll feel after a lot of use. Would prefer that bit to feel more firmly held. In use it's been fine, though, and I am staying dry without constantly adjusting where I'm holding it.PROS:+ Useful amount of cover without being awkward to pack+ Button opening and canopy closing is handy+ I like the pink colourCONS:- A little play around the opening/closing mechanism

We get a lot of wind here, with drizzle and rain mixed in.

We get a lot of wind here, with drizzle and rain mixed in. Using this reminds me of the umbrellas we had back in the 70's, something that feels substantial rather than flimsy. It has behaved well in the weather I've taken it out in. I'm glad to have found a well made one at a sensible price instead of paying a fortune.

Bradley Jackson

For the price I think this is a very good umbrella.

For the price I think this is a very good umbrella. Funny really because it is cloth and a frame, not a complicated machine. You could probably rig something up with sticks if you were determined. The flexible ribs are a nice touch though. I keep thinking about other things to do with it. There are berries I want to collect and I hate picking them one at a time just to drop them. Some are too high to get at properly. My idea is to hold the open umbrella upside down underneath while picking, so anything I miss lands in it. I considered a mat, but then things sit wherever they land. Here they could roll toward the middle. Brilliant!Could also wave it for a bit of air inside the house, maybe that is getting carried away. I tipped a glass of water over it as a little test and the water ran off fine. Obviously that isn't the same as a whole storm, but it did what I wanted. Quite pleased I thought of the berry idea.

Ronnie Holland

Instant shade when needed....

Four years on and this still gets a lot of use. It's a handy little shady patch to take outside with you. If the kids want to sit with a book or do some colouring, I can hold it over them rather than have them squinting in the sun. Not room for a whole play area, of course, but enough for a quiet sit together. They like being tucked underneath it. The dark underside makes it feel quite sheltered! It has been dropped, left out in the wet and generally had plenty of use, yet it still looks good. I keep reaching for it when we're going outside, whether the weather looks sunny or rainy. Instant shade when needed....one of those purchases that has earned its place here.

Angela Mccormick

Sooo pleased with it!

Sooo pleased with it! i haven't used it in rain yet, but it's been lovely for shade and fine in a bit of wind. heavier than my tiny one, not as heavy as a full size one. the button's easy, though you still push the shaft back in by hand. makes a proper snap when opening, which my cat absolutely hates.

Dillon Cantrell

I do it with both hands and that's been manageable.

I was a little surprised by how much room there is under this umbrella. Looking at it folded, I didn't expect it to give such good cover once opened. There is space around my shoulders rather than the rain landing right against me. Must say that makes it much more pleasant to carry on a wet day.The button is a real help for my somewhat weak hand, since I don't have to reach up and press a catch to fold the canopy. Shortening the pole afterwards still needs a firm push, which is the only part I have to make an effort with. I do it with both hands and that's been manageable. Overall it has turned out better for me than I expected.

Jillian Rollins

The construction seems solid and the fabric looks good.

I wanted a replacement for my old umbrella with enough coverage without having to carry another long golf one. This has been a good choice. There is room for two if you stand close, and it has coped well with the windy rain we get here. The construction seems solid and the fabric looks good. My one reservation is that closing it isn't entirely automatic. The canopy closes from the button but you still push the telescoping shaft in yourself. That took a little getting used to, now it is just part of putting it away. I may get a second to leave at work.

Adriana Rose

The parcel arrived soon after I ordered.

The parcel arrived soon after I ordered. Once I'd got through the wrapping i opened it out for a proper look. It really is a pretty umbrella in cream white, and it has worked well on the few occasions I've used it. There isn't much I'd change about the design and I like that unusual loop handle.Pros:Neat carry sleeveNice appearanceFeels sturdySomething to show off to friendsCons:Handle feels hard if I hold it for agesStill not going to make standing in rain my favourite hobby(lol)p.s. I'd prefer a little more softness where you grip it for longer walks, but overall it is a good umbrella and I'm glad I picked it.

Tom Orozco

An umbrella for my eight year old and she is delighted with it.

An umbrella for my eight year old and she is delighted with it. Looks very sweet. Once folded it goes in her backpack without trouble. I wasn't sure cream white would appeal to her....but seeing it in person settled that. She thinks it is beautiful and so do I!

Holly Pace

The plain design is nice too.

I like how much cover this gives compared with the tiny folding umbrellas I've carried before. The plain design is nice too. I'd seen comments about needing a firm push when putting it away, and that is fair, but it hasn't bothered me. A press of the button closes the canopy; after that you push the telescoping pole down until it's reset. Taking a moment over that makes it simple enough. I haven't had any trouble gathering it up afterwards either. Overall, a very good find! It's kept me dry in quite steady rain, the frame feels reassuring in wind, and I like that it doesn't look fussy. Very satisfied!

Autumn Fernandez

The umbrella itself works great and is exactly what I needed!

The box my umbrella came in was ripped right across and taped back up. When I unpacked it, I was expecting the worst even though there was plenty of packaging around it. Everything on the umbrella was straight, and worked properly with no trouble. Such a relief after the state of that box. The umbrella itself works great and is exactly what I needed!

Susan Preston

I'd happily recommend it for that sort of everyday use.

We've kept this by the back door for quite a while now. People here in North Carolina keep assuring me, quite seriously, that all this rain isn't normal, but during our first year here it seemed to be needed every week. The dogs still want their trips into the yard, rain or not, so out we go with the umbrella. Previous cheap ones started looking tired almost straight away. This one is still opening properly and looking much the same after all those outings. I'd happily recommend it for that sort of everyday use.
