Okay, paying a bit more for an umbrella makes sense when you actually use it.The frame on this one feels substantial and I like having the closed loop to hang onto. That's something I notice more than I expected.Umbrellas cost enough that I don't want to feel like I've bought something flimsy just to save a few bucks. No regrets about this one. I'm thinking of buying another to keep in the office so I'm not caught without it.

Worth noting.
Some sensible design choices here: the thirty flexible ribs give the canopy a well-supported feel, and the closed oval handle is useful for carrying it.The price is not especially low, but assuming the joints hold up over time I think it is justified. Coverage is adequate for one person, though I would not choose it for sharing. One small irritation is getting all the folds arranged neatly after use. It can be done, just not as quickly as opening it. Worth noting. The button brings the canopy down, not the entire telescoping assembly; you still compress that by hand. That is how this mechanism operates rather than a fault. For a portable umbrella the overall construction is convincing, and I would rather have this balance of size and solidity than something lighter that feels disposable.

Such a pretty beige umbrella, I can hardly wait for our wedding pictures with it. Four starts rather than five just because I imagined a little more width. We might have to squeeze ourselves together to both get under, but then again for wedding pictures that could be a good thing, an excuse to get extra close (smooch-smooch)

Has been dependable on windy walks. The button that brings the canopy down is particularly useful when I'm getting into the car, saves wrestling with it while trying to stay dry. Once folded it sits neatly in the door storage, so it's always there when I need it.

Really happy with this one up to now.
Really happy with this one up to now. We've used it for a few months without any trouble. Seems sturdily put together, slips into my backpack or purse, and there's room for two provided you're willing to stand close. we want to try it in a few more rainstorms before getting a second one, but things look promising.

Number THREE for me -- and yes, I'd buy the same one again.
Number THREE for me -- and yes, I'd buy the same one again. I like the beige, it feels strong, and my favourite thing is how quickly the button collapses the canopy. When I'm getting into the car in pouring rain I really don't want to reach up and wrestle with a catch. One press brings the canopy in, then I can shut the door and push the shaft down by hand. Much less fuss.
The first one went away with a friend. Rain started just as she was boarding her train, so I handed it over, assuming I'd eventually get it back. Apparently not! Ordered another.
That replacement disappeared after a meeting last month. I knew which places I'd been and rang around, but nobody could find it. I suspect somebody found themselves a nice umbrella and decided to hang onto it. It certainly wasn't worn out when I lost it. So I've just ordered number three. If I can manage not to lend it out or leave it behind, maybe I'll finally get to keep one.

Game days can get wet!!!
Game days can get wet!!! Handy umbrella - enough room for the two of us if we tuck in close! Not as big as our other one, but easier to take along. BTW - hubby and I support different teams, yet we both like this umbrella. LOL - he's got one too, so we can sit side by side without arguing over who gets the cover!

I haven't had a chance to use this in rain yet.
I haven't had a chance to use this in rain yet. Thought the beige might be a bit dull from the picture - IT IS BEIGE, but such a pretty shade :) I wanted something neutral and this is just right. looks nice folded up too and the button is simple to use. Opens out to a good size, very happy so far

Feels sturdy.
1. Looks cute2. Feels sturdy.3. Keeps the rain off my head & shoulders instead of just my hair.4. Enough space without looking enormous - I am 5.2 and slim and can manage it easily. Folded it is still something I can carry without feeling loaded down. For me it is a practical size, not one of those huge umbrellas.

The quality is there, not just a nice looking thing.
I wont let my fraternity brothers know where i found this, or we will all end up carrying the same umbrella! The quality is there, not just a nice looking thing. If you want a practical umbrella that you also enjoy being seen with, i'd say this is a good one. Very glad i picked it.

Thoughtfully designed, practical, and a lovely green, with a reassuringly substantial feel. The canopy gives good coverage and the flexible ribs seem well put together. It isn't the cheapest choice, but I feel the quality justifies the cost. A useful umbrella for keeping the children covered when we're out in rain.

I'm not strong, and trying to wrestle an umbrella at the car door ...
Ever tried juggling a toddler, stroller and diaper bag while it's pouring? Being able to pop this open with a button is such a relief.I'm not strong, and trying to wrestle an umbrella at the car door ... no thanks. Another press gathers the canopy, then I push it down once inside. So much easier!

A couple of months of use now and it hasn't let me down.
A couple of months of use now and it hasn't let me down. I think the price was fair for something that feels this solid. Hopefully I won't be shopping for a replacement for ages, but I'd choose the same one if I needed another. The cream white is particularly nice, it looks fresh and almost springlike even when the autumn weather is doing its worst.

Have one at home and one in the car. Both work fine.***update:Still have them after the move from Germany to the states, just haven't needed them much. More use now in Florida with this one staying in the car. They look to have lasted well but like I said its not been a lot of use over the last three years

It's behaved well in the wind she's had so far.
My girlfriend takes the train to work every day and has been very happy with this. It fits into her work bag nicely. The button puts it up and also draws the canopy shut, but you do still have to compress the shaft yourself afterwards. Not a big deal, just not completely hands free putting it away. It's behaved well in the wind she's had so far. I think she'd lose her footing before she'd willingly let go of it. A useful little present.
Jay Santana
A very successful present, and I'm pleased with it.
This was a Christmas present for my mum, who finds the usual umbrella catches difficult to manage. A press opens it straight away, and another press gathers the canopy in. She still pushes the telescoping pole down by hand, but doesn't have to wrestle with the canopy. It feels sturdy, and she's finding it much less awkward to use. A very successful present, and I'm pleased with it.

A useful travel umbrella, just not especially roomy for two adults.
We wanted an umbrella for travelling, with a little more cover than our usual compact ones. The stated open size is around 105cm; in use, it still feels very much like a one-person umbrella rather than something to share. Construction seems sound and it is easy to pack, but the coverage wasn't quite what we had pictured. A useful travel umbrella, just not especially roomy for two adults.

Really lovely umbrella I almost like it too much to get it wetHave only had it out a few times but each time I was pleased to be carrying it rather than hiding it awayEasy enough to open and put away and not a nuisance in my handbagFeels nicely made as well so for the money I'm thinking this was a very good buy

Would definitely recommend this one.
A big umbrella lives in my truck, which is fine there, but I wanted something smaller for the car. Having the canopy close by button is handy when its raing and I'm trying to get in. This folds neatly and fits lengthways in my car's door pocket (a VERY narrow pocket).Still feels solid, and opened out it's plenty for me without carrying a huge umbrella around.Would definitely recommend this one.

My 3 year old loves having his own umbrella.
My 3 year old loves having his own umbrella. The button works smoothly, and I help with opening it and putting it away. I wouldn't expect miracles in strong wind, but it feels sturdy for everyday rain. He's even marched around pretending it's a cane, and it still looks fine.
Brandi Estes
Nothing dramatic, a gentle wipe and it looks presentable again.
Used to be forever buying another umbrella because the last cheap one had given up.This one is a different story, feels substantial and has kept me dry through some really wet days. The ribs have a bit of give rather than feeling brittle (yes, I've actually started noticing umbrella ribs now :) and the handle is nice to carry too.If I could change one thing I'd probably choose a darker colour next time. Cream white does show the marks once you've carried it around a while, which is partly because it's lasted long enough to get grubby. Nothing dramatic, a gentle wipe and it looks presentable again.Still going strong and I'm glad I spent a bit more!
Harold Parker
Looks nice opened up and the coverage is good.
The button is something I handle, so the girls aren't using these as toys the way they would like, just carrying them when we have rain. they need a little help getting it ready and putting it away. The cream white is really pretty, with the black underneath instead of a picture showing through. Looks nice opened up and the coverage is good. I am happy with these.
Norman Knapp
I had picked Cream White and received a different colour.
I had picked Cream White and received a different colour. Things were busy and I couldn't find time to pack it back up and make the twenty minute trip to the post office, so I ended up keeping it. Still disappointing to have my colour choice overlooked with no explanation and not even an apology. As an umbrella it does the job and the size suits me - I just wanted the colour I actually chose.

What a cheerful umbrella!!
What a cheerful umbrella!! That green makes such a change from all the dark ones around me. I've had smiles from people when I'm out with it, which is a silly little thing but it does brighten a rainy day :)The button is the other reason I keep reaching for it. Opens the canopy quickly and draws it in again when I'm getting into the car. You still compress the stem afterwards, but not having to wrestle the wet canopy shut is wonderful. Hard to want an entirely manual one after using this.
Theresa Savage
I'm loving this umbrella already!
I'm loving this umbrella already! It looks just as nice as I hoped it would. I'd read comments about the fabric being thin and that had made me a little nervous about ordering. When it arrived I opened it straight away to have a look. It doesn't seem too thin to me at all. To me it feels like normal umbrella material, and the whole thing seems nicely put together. I think I'll get a lot of use out of it. Now I'm actually hoping for a rainy day so I can try it properly! If I'm as happy after using it outdoors, I can see myself getting another color as well.

The canopy has enough coverage for her and what she's carrying.
A friend received this from me and was delighted: the push-button opening was what she wanted, and the oval loop gives her something secure to hold while juggling her work cases. The canopy has enough coverage for her and what she's carrying. It feels much more substantial than I had expected. For someone wanting a folding umbrella with this sort of handle, I'd certainly recommend it.
Beverly Adkins
I found that sequence easy to get used to.
After keeping this in the car for a while, I am impressed by how thoughtfully it is put together. It packs down neatly, but the open canopy is a useful size rather than feeling skimpy. My larger umbrella stays in the golf bag; this one is handier for the car.
A few details worth noting:
- The handle forms an enclosed oval instead of a curved hook. It sits comfortably in my hand and gives me a secure grip.
- The button is easy to reach with my thumb, so getting the umbrella up is straightforward. There is no fiddling around trying to release a small sliding catch.
- It opens smoothly and holds its full shape nicely. To put it away, another button press draws the canopy closed, followed by pushing the shaft back down by hand. I found that sequence easy to get used to.
- The flexible ribs give the fabric an even, supported shape. Looking underneath, the framework seems quite substantial for something that folds down this small.
- The included sleeve keeps the folded fabric together neatly for storage. I leave the umbrella out to dry before putting it back in there.
Overall, the construction and ease of use have made a good impression. There has clearly been some care taken over the everyday details, which I appreciate in such a simple item. Five stars from me.

Long live freedom, and the humble umbrella.
Long live freedom, and the humble umbrella. Solidly made, ready to defend one's dignity against a rainy afternoon. Friends and coworkers beware - opening it may bring on an entirely unnecessary speech about liberty, if the heart is willing. No grand ceremony required. Just stand in your little patch of shade and feel absurdly noble.
Ann Woods
bit for a handle is easier to carry than I expected.
Of course the first proper rain I took it into came with a lot of wind. It did turn inside out once, but the ribs flexed rather than getting bent, and I was using it again a moment later. That's what I wanted from it. I also like being able to bring the canopy in with the button, then push the shaft back down. The sleeve is useful, and that closed... loop... bit for a handle is easier to carry than I expected. Nothing fancy to explain there, it just sits nicely in my hand (which matters when you're lugging other things too)

Feels sturdy, not flimsy, and is simple to open.
I don't have a car so I need an umbrella that can come along whenever I go out. I'm a guy who doesn't usually carry a bag, and I didn't want a huge umbrella in my hand all the time. This folds down to a manageable size and the loop handle is handy to carry it by. Feels sturdy, not flimsy, and is simple to open. It isn't enormous over your head but there's enough coverage to keep me dry. Exactly what I needed.
Mariah Mcmahon
Seems a good buy for how well it's put together.
The material feels substantial and I like the grip on the handle. Once open it gives me the coverage I want; little umbrellas usually leave part of me wet...this one has been much better. Seems a good buy for how well it's put together. My one niggle was unpacking it. Some of the protective plastic around the handle took a bit of picking to get away from the join. Nothing wrong with the umbrella itself, just fiddly wrapping. For somebody who has to go out in rain often, I'd happily suggest this one
Travis Meza
the button doesn't pull the entire umbrella down into the handle.
The area around my school can be fairly exposed, and rain there often comes with enough wind to make a flimsy umbrella more trouble than it's worth. That was the main reason I started looking for a better one. The inexpensive ones I had been using weren't something I felt confident taking out when the weather looked unpleasant. I spent quite a while reading reviews and comparing larger umbrellas with folding ones. In the end I wanted something substantial enough to use, but not a full length umbrella that I would have to keep track of all day. This seemed a reasonable compromise, and I didn't feel I needed to spend more just to get a bigger canopy.
After about three months of taking this to school, including quite a few rainy days, I'm pleased with the decision. A few observations that might be useful:
-The size is practical. It is not one of those enormous umbrellas that you can fit several people under, but it gives me a comfortable amount of coverage without having to hold it exactly in the middle of my head all the time. I haven't taken a tape measure to mine, but the stated width of about 105cm seems reasonable. If rain is blowing at an angle, I still have to tilt it towards the rain. My lower legs aren't magically protected, either. For keeping my head and upper body dry on the walk, though, it has been very good. Folded up it is much less awkward to take around than a long umbrella. It isn't tiny, and I wouldn't describe it as something that disappears in a pocket, but that wasn't what I was looking for.
-It has behaved well in the wind I've actually used it in. The canopy has stayed in shape and I haven't had it turn inside out. You can feel some movement in the ribs rather than everything being completely stiff. To me that is reassuring, although I can't tell anyone exactly how much wind it would take. I'm talking about normal wet, breezy walks, not deliberately taking it out in dangerous weather to see what happens. There are 30 ribs supporting the canopy, and the fabric seems well supported between them. I still hold it facing into the weather when necessary rather than letting the wind get underneath it. An umbrella is a fairly large surface to be holding by one hand, so some common sense is involved regardless of how solid it feels.
-The construction feels substantial. The fabric doesn't have that very thin, papery feel that put me off some of the cheaper umbrellas I looked at. When it is open, everything looks evenly spread rather than having odd loose areas between the ribs. the shaft feels secure in use, and I haven't noticed the various sections moving around against each other while I'm holding it. I don't know enough about the materials to make claims about what every part is made of, but nothing about mine feels particularly flimsy. The handle is a closed oval loop, which took a little getting used to compared with a straight handle. I can put my fingers through it and keep a comfortable grip. It gives me somewhere definite to hold without needing a big curved handle sticking out when it's packed away.
The opening action is probably the part I appreciate most during actual use. Pressing the button sends the canopy out promptly, and it settles into the open position without me having to reach up and arrange anything. Another press collapses the canopy. You do still need to compress the telescoping shaft yourself to get it back to its folded length; the button doesn't pull the entire umbrella down into the handle. I mention this because the automatic closing description could otherwise give the wrong impression. It is a straightforward extra step, not something I have found troublesome. Bringing the wet canopy down without reaching into it is useful enough on its own. The action has remained consistent through repeated use, which matters more to me than how impressive it looks the first time you press it.
After being opened, closed and carried around for this long, mine still looks tidy and operates as it did at the beginning. That is really what I wanted from it. I may add some pictures, since seeing one held open would give a better idea of its proportions than a photograph of the umbrella by itself. For walking to school and dealing with ordinary rainy weather, this has been an excellent choice. I would recommend it to someone wanting a folding umbrella that feels substantial without having to carry a full sized one everywhere.

I bought this to replace an umbrella that had struggled in windy weather. After about a year, it's kept the rain off well and the frame still feels solid. However, the weight is more noticeable than I expected, and the loop handle doesn't sit particularly comfortably in my hand on longer walks. The opening mechanism has been reliable, so my reservations are more about carrying it than how it works. If the handle were a better fit for me and the whole thing a little lighter, I'd be much more inclined to recommend it.
Amy Roach
Happy to have this one along :-)
A handy umbrella that I actually like carrying, not just something to keep the rain off. It's coped with breezes better than a few other small ones I've owned. I like having a proper grip on the loop handle, and a quick press to open it is a bonus. Happy to have this one along :-)
Colton Noble
The frame feels reassuringly strong when it is opened.
The frame feels reassuringly strong when it is opened. There is nothing flimsy about the way the ribs support the fabric , and the mechanism has a good solid feel. I have used it in wind and rain with no trouble, which gives me confidence taking it out. Folded it is convenient to carry rather than being a long umbrella to manage. A friend tried mine and was keen to get one after being disappointed by other folding umbrellas
Jenna Sawyer
A year with this one and I'm very happy with that decision.
I'm no umbrella expert, I just have a walk to the office that gets pretty windy. After years of putting up with flimsy ones, I wanted something that felt more substantial. A year with this one and I'm very happy with that decision. Its sturdy without being a huge thing to lug about, and the canopy has behaved well on blustery walks. I still wouldn't stand out in a serious storm expecting an umbrella to do miracles. Once the wind is pulling at your arm, common sense says put it away, whatever you're carrying. But for the rain and wind I actually walk through on normal work days, this has been great. Still looks good, still opens nicely, and I really don't have anything to complain about.
Alexis Guerrero
Still, it works for what I needed and I don't regret getting it.
The cream white appealed to me because of a show I'm a fan of, so looks were a big part of choosing this umbrella. The price seemed reasonable for something I mostly wanted for everyday showers. It's a nice looking thing in person and has been enough for that kind of rain; I wasn't expecting something for torrential weather. The closed loop handle takes some getting used to, and I would prefer a little more room for my hand. Still, it works for what I needed and I don't regret getting it.
Drew Logan
Worth knowing that packing it away takes a firm push, too.
I like the black, but up close the finish is fairly ordinary. Worth knowing that packing it away takes a firm push, too. The first time I pressed the closing button, I stood there waiting for the whole handle section to shorten as well. It only brings the canopy in; the telescoping part has to be compressed manually. Not a fault, just not quite the effortless closing I had pictured. Maybe my arms aren't as mighty as I give them credit for. It is also a little bulky in my smaller bag, and getting the fabric tidy enough for the sleeve takes patience. Still, it gives decent cover and I do enjoy using it, even if it isn't quite my ideal everyday umbrella.
Kristie Becker
This one has been a good compromise.
As a college student I spend a fair amount of time walking between buildings, so having an umbrella in my backpack matters. I don't want to carry a long one all day just because it might rain. The small ones I've used before never seemed to give enough coverage, or felt flimsy once the weather turned breezy. This one has been a good compromise. It goes in my backpack without any trouble and covers me properly when I need it. A bit more weight than I was expecting, but it feels worth carrying. The frame has coped well on windy walks so far and I haven't ended up with soaked shoulders. Overall I'm satisfied with it.
Terry Cherry

I was after something a little different that still felt properly made, and this suits me. You notice the care in the finish as soon as you pick it up, it opens smoothly and feels secure overhead. It wasn't the cheapest choice, but I expect to get plenty of use from it and it looks rather elegant to carry.
Karl Villarreal
It has handled the breezes I've used it in well.
Sunscreen isn't my favourite thing & living in a sunny, windy desert has me looking for shade wherever I can. I wanted an umbrella that wouldn't feel ready for the bin after a month.I hesitated over the price but I'm glad I spent it.This feels properly made & being underneath it is noticeably more comfortable than standing in direct sun. It has handled the breezes I've used it in well. If you're after a sturdy umbrella for shade, I'd say this is worth the money.
Aaron Collier
This one has given me much less to worry about.
I've had this umbrella for about four months now and use it on my walk to work on the east coast. Wind was hard on the umbrellas I used before, so I wanted something that felt more dependable. This one has given me much less to worry about. The construction feels solid, and I find the loop handle comfortable to hold. I've even had a few compliments on how it looks. It's smart enough for work without looking fussy. Not the cheapest umbrella I could have picked up, but the quality and the useful amount of cover make me happy with the extra expense.

The umbrella was such a good choice for my daughter's wedding!
The umbrella was such a good choice for my daughter's wedding! They were going for a vintage feel and this sat nicely with everything without looking over the top. The photographer worked it into some really lovely pictures and I'm so glad we thought of it.The fabric feels substantial and the whole thing looked much nicer in person than I had expected. It wasn't just something pretty that we'd use for a photo and forget about. We only decided on an umbrella during the week before the wedding, so I was rather anxious about leaving it late, but it arrived with a couple of days left. Worth what I spent!!! Beautiful addition to the day and something useful afterwards too. I'd absolutely recommend it!

A sensible size, and the quick opening action makes it useful.
A sensible size, and the quick opening action makes it useful. I'd rather have one decent umbrella than keep buying flimsy replacements. The loop handle clips onto a belt loop, so I can keep my hands free even when I haven't brought a bag. No need to carry it around in my fist. Take it along OR take your chances with the weather, entirely your decision.

A gift he was pleased to get.
Husband needed some shade while we were on holiday in FL.. He uses an umbrella after having skin cancer; a lot of the time it's for watching sports. We (family)weren't sure pink would be his thing...he rather likes it. :) :) Good quality, handy to carry and enough cover for him to sit comfortably. A gift he was pleased to get.
Jeanne Reyes
I'd certainly recommend it to other parents.
Another umbrella disappeared from my porch, so I needed to replace it. (Somebody must have liked it as much as I did) I'm happy with this choice. With a young son there is always something else to hold when we're heading out in the rain, and an awkward umbrella is the last thing I need. This gives us room when he walks close beside me, and I can use it while pushing the stroller too. It's a useful size around our neighborhood without being a long thing to carry once the rain stops.I especially like being able to press the button and have it ready with one hand. No stopping to pull everything into position while also keeping hold of the stroller. The sleeve was a little fiddly to get back on at first, but taking a moment to fold the fabric neatly sorted that out. Nothing dramatic, just a bit of getting used to it. I'd certainly recommend it to other parents.
Amanda Miles
No enormous umbrella to lug around.
I live in California. With melanoma in the family, I'm very aware of how much time I spend in the sun.I wanted something I could carry for everyday shade and this is ideal for that!No enormous umbrella to lug around. It feels light enough for me, still sturdy, and packs neatly into its sleeve when I'm finished.I'm genuinely glad to have it along!
Katrina Benson
I am pleased with the quality of this umbrella.
I am pleased with the quality of this umbrella.
The handle and frame are not heavy to carry, but there is a good firmness to them.
It gives enough cover in the rain and is also useful for shade, so I find two uses for it. When opening I leave a little room around me. (People who carry umbrellas often will understand~~)
From my own experience, it is one I can recommend.
It is something I want to look after carefully.
Beth Sloan
This gives me proper coverage.
After more than a year, this is still doing a great job for me. I'm on the bigger side and smaller umbrellas always seemed to leave part of me getting wet. This gives me proper coverage. It's been out in gusty weather too and stayed steady in my hand. Would happily recommend it to somebody looking for a decent everyday umbrella.
Catherine Kennedy
I've stayed dry using it, so no complaints about that part.
I'd looked through plenty of umbrella reviews before choosing this, and somehow never picked up on it feeling a bit small. Maybe I chose the wrong size for me. Nothing wrong with the way it works, it does what it's meant to. I just wish there was a little more room underneath, feels a bit closed in. Still ... I've stayed dry using it, so no complaints about that part.
