Another umbrella I'll have to try not to lose!

Another umbrella I'll have to try not to lose! I've misplaced enough of these compact ones over the years. The pink is lovely and cheerful--i get a little lift when it pops open. There's a good amount of shelter and it feels sturdy, even when it's breezy. This has quickly become my favourite umbrella to take out!

Claire Savage

Four stars mainly because of the weight (I'm not a very big person!

I have just started using this umbrella and the first impression is good. It feels sturdy, though it is a little longer and heavier than the compact umbrellas I normally carry. Still goes in my tote, which was important to me. The sleeve is useful for keeping it tidy rather than having it loose among everything else. Four stars mainly because of the weight (I'm not a very big person!), and because I haven't had it out in really demanding weather yet.I spent quite a while looking before settling on this one. My previous umbrella had a disappointingly short life, and I don't enjoy replacing something that ought to last. This seems a more substantial choice without being awkward to take along. Time will tell how it holds up, but the build feels promising and the price seemed reasonable. Hoping this is one I can keep using for ages!

The umbrella meets my expectations

The umbrella meets my expectations; its button operates correctly and the canopy moves smoothly. Closing it has also been straightforward, with the final shortening done manually. I am satisfied with the mechanism and the overall finish. Best regards, and thank you

Alejandro Woodward

It feels solid when it's up.

We have two of these now and I'm happy with them overall. Took them to a soccer game and of course the weather turned wet and windy. I was expecting a battle with an umbrella turning inside out, but mine coped well and I could actually pay attention to the game. It feels solid when it's up. You still need to keep a firm grip when a gust comes along, like with any handheld umbrella, so I wouldn't just hold it loosely and forget about it. My one reservation is the amount of room underneath. I had imagined a bit more space for sharing, and with two people close together it isn't as roomy as I'd hoped. For one person though it's a useful size, and easier to carry home afterwards than a long umbrella. Four stars because of the size rather than anything about how it worked in the rain.

Dalton Case

Still very glad I went for something with colour.

I love using this BUT the green is more noticeable than I'd imagined... a couple of lovely comments and one less lovely one, so apparently everyone has an opinion. It gives me a nice amount of cover and is easy enough to take along. I wouldn't choose it for really rough wind, but for the ordinary wet days it's been great. Still very glad I went for something with colour.

Gordon Carney

Easy and very pleased!

I wasn't sure I'd get my money's worth, but using it once was enough to change my mind. A gust caught me and the canopy held its shape, with good room underneath without feeling too heavy. The button opening and canopy closing are GREAT, then I push the shaft back in myself.Easy and very pleased!

Overall I'm glad we got it.

My husband is happy with it, though I had pictured something shorter for his briefcase. It fits, but takes a bit more arranging than I'd hoped. There's also some weight to it for a folding umbrella, which does at least make it feel substantial. Overall I'm glad we got it.

Gabriella Winters

I'd happily recommend it!

The umbrella has a reassuring solid feel and opens easily, with enough room for me underneath. I'd happily recommend it!My only doubt was Cream White, which looked a lot brighter in person than I expected. I wasn't sure about carrying such a pale umbrella. Then we had rain on the course and my group could pick me out straight away, so that turned into a plus.It kept me dry and I ended up liking the colour after all. A very good purchase!!!

For my commute, it is an okay umbrella rather than a great fit.

For "one person" this is fair enough, provided that person isn't also wearing a laptop backpack. I walk to work, and keeping my front covered means the back of the bag tends to stick out. If I shift the umbrella backwards, then my sleeves get more rain instead. The button is useful and I don't mind the folded size, so there are things I like. But when rain comes in sideways I still have to keep adjusting the angle, and it isn't the relaxed walk I'd hoped for. Yes, I'm in Seattle and yes, wet weather is a regular thing here. For a short walk without much to carry this would probably be fine. For my commute, it is an okay umbrella rather than a great fit.

Handy size for carrying around.

Handy size for carrying around. I got one for my boss, who travels alot, and she says it goes in her laptop bag without using up all the space. Some folded umbrellas are so bulky. Her elderly mother saw it and liked it enough to ask me to get one for her too, she even gave me the money. Fits in a roomy handbag as well. Starting to think I should get myself one now :-)

Once I did that it stayed packed away properly.

Automatic opening is useful, and the button folds the canopy neatly, but I didn't realize you still have to push the pole right down afterwards. Once I did that it stayed packed away properly. The little connections near the canopy tips look delicate to me, although nothing has given me trouble. Only had it a few days, so I can't say much about how it lasts.

A useful little umbrella to have around!

Wind around here is rough on umbrellas, so I try not to expect miracles from a folding one. This is fine for the usual rain and a bit of breeze, but I wouldn't choose it for battling a gale. It fits in my larger purse and is comfortable enough to take along rather than leave at home. The pole feels fairly basic, which is probably my main reservation. Still, for what I paid I can't complain too much. I wanted something handy for ordinary wet days, not some indestructible piece of equipment, and that's what I've got. A useful little umbrella to have around!

Honestly the nicest little umbrella - plain beige rather than a big cartoon picture, which I like. The button idea is very handy & the whole thing seems put together well. Haven't had proper rain to test it in yet, so can't say much about that part. It is for my 6-year old, and for us the good things are 1) not a great long stick to carry about, 2) enough canopy without being enormous, 3) the closed oval handle is easy to get hold of, 4) a simple solid colour that doesn't look babyish, 5) a button to open & bring the canopy in, and 6) a sleeve to put it away. The shaft does need pushing back myself, so that is my part of the job

Tammie Rice

It's still a proper umbrella, so I help her handle it.

My three year old daughter always wants to use an umbrella but finds the big ones awkward. We tried this together today and she was delighted. It's still a proper umbrella, so I help her handle it. Arrived in good shape (no bent bits or anything on ours). Can't judge how long it'll last yet, but the button is easy for me and she thinks it's very cute. Waiting for some rain!

Diane Green

I keep it for that more than anything.

The button has made getting into and out of the car in rain a lot less awkward. I keep it for that more than anything. For walking to a nearby cafe or doing some shopping it's fine, though I don't enjoy holding it when the rain is blowing sideways. Honestly, the folding is what stops it being a favourite. Getting the fabric arranged neatly takes me longer than I want, and then putting it into the sleeve is another little job. I generally leave that until I'm home instead of trying to do it at the car door. Still, for the convenience of opening it quickly and drawing the canopy in, I'm glad I kept it.

Ana Clarke

One star off because I'd LOVE a broader place to grip it.

Still going strong!! New York rain can be quite a test with wind whipping round the tall buildings. This has done well for me so far and I'm looking forward to using it for summer shade too. One star off because I'd LOVE a broader place to grip it. The loop is useful, but not quite the handhold I'd choose.

Bill Schmitt

Still happy with the purchase and I'd choose it again.

The sun sensitivity I had when I was little has decided to return this summer, so I wanted some portable shade for when I'm out and need it. This looks pretty and is simple to put up, and I've been glad to have it on sunny days. The fiddly part is getting the fabric neatly wrapped to fit the sleeve again. I may look for a roomier sleeve rather than spend ages packing it. Still happy with the purchase and I'd choose it again.

Glenn Dorsey

I'm delighted with this umbrella.

I'm delighted with this umbrella. The button pops it open and folds the canopy closed, and it hasn't turned inside out on me. Best bit is the sleeve for putting it away after sporting events or concerts. With everything tucked in so neatly, I feel like a little ninja with my gear.

Jacob Larson

A lovely umbrella to use with children.

A lovely umbrella to use with children. The frame feels well put together and the button action is smooth, though I'm the one doing the opening and packing it away. There's plenty of room under it. My two and a half year old is thrilled whenever it comes out. Hoping we'll get plenty of use from it. Very sweet.

Blake Walters

I don't regard an umbrella as a substitute.

Since having several skin cancers removed, I have been rather nervous about being out in the sun. That's difficult when you enjoy the outdoors. This gives me a patch of shade and I do feel cooler beneath it, which makes being outside more comfortable. I still take my usual sun precautions; I don't regard an umbrella as a substitute. The material feels substantial and the button opening is handy. Really pleased.

Marissa Clay

The quality has really impressed me!

The quality has really impressed me! When you're a mother of six, getting an umbrella up with one hand makes a difference. I can press the button and still keep hold of one of the children's hands. The closed loop handle is sooooo handy to hold onto too, without feeling like it'll slip away while I'm getting everybody sorted. No windy day test yet, though I feel fairly confident about it. Makes the rainy day juggling easier!

Joanna James

Looks solid and opens out to a useful size.

Looks solid and opens out to a useful size. Two people could squeeze underneath, although it's more comfortable with one. It folds away neatly. There is a bit of weight to it and you do have to press the shaft down by hand after the button closes the canopy, so someone with less strength might find that part harder. For me it is fine. It reached me in Spain within a week and I'm satisfied so far, just waiting to try it in rain.

Katherine Adkins

I've been pleased enough with mine to buy another as a gift.

After my previous folding umbrella gave up in under a year, I was after something that felt a little more substantial. This one has been a pleasure to use. The button pops it open and draws the canopy closed again; you still press the pole down yourself to pack it away. It has more weight to it than some little umbrellas, but not so much that I mind having it in my handbag. Opened up, it gives me proper cover rather than just sheltering my head. The sleeve is included, though I usually only bother with it once the umbrella is completely dry. Everything folds together quite neatly. I like the simple look as well, nothing fussy about it. I've been pleased enough with mine to buy another as a gift.

Sheila Hicks

Happy to recommend.

The black fabric has a really nice finish to it. Plain, but very smart in my opinion. I like the oval loop handle too, especially being able to clip it onto a bag! A generous size without feeling huge. It has been durable so far and the fabric wipes clean easily. Happy to recommend.

Pam Cantu

The material quality looks quite good.

Arrival took longer than expected. The material quality looks quite good. I have not tried it at work yet. For ordinary use outside, it is very good for the money. The finishing is satisfactory and the size agrees with the description. I am satisfied with it and can recommend.

Franklin Hernandez

I'd recommend it without any hesitation.

It was a real help for my husband on our vacation in New York. Easy to carry folded, then enough cover when we needed it, and useful for shade as well. He appreciated being able to bring it along without feeling burdened with a big umbrella all day. Something practical that made getting around a little easier. I'd recommend it without any hesitation.

Latoya Nash

This one was for my MOM.

This one was for my MOM. She LOVES it, so when she misplaced the first I got her another. The beige has just enough color to look nice on a dull day without being too much. I had picked out a brighter umbrella for her as well, but this is still the one she prefers. Don't know if it's the softer shade or just that she's used to it. Either way, it's been a very successful gift!

Miguel Juarez

Still a practical umbrella.

I spent a while looking for a medium sized umbrella with automatic opening and a handle I could clip onto something. (It's mainly for the car and work occasions.) This does what I wanted and feels nicely made. My only reservation is the colour; cream white is a little softer looking than the very plain, businesslike appearance I had pictured. Still a practical umbrella.

Harry Dudley

I'd been admiring smart umbrellas and finally wanted one of my own.

I'd been admiring smart umbrellas and finally wanted one of my own. The beige is just my sort of colour, with good coverage on wet walks and a shape that looks nice out and about. It certainly got noticed when I used it. Sadly somebody stole mine before I'd even had a full month with it. :( I'll be getting another when spring comes round!

Zoe Macdonald

I use an umbrella for shade and this one works well.

this did what I needed. It's not some luxury thing, and I wouldn't expect that for the money. I use an umbrella for shade and this one works well. Ordered two, with one going to my sons teacher as an end of year present. She loves hers. At this price I could buy a stack for easy summer gifts!

Ethan Cooper

Picked this out as a gift for my mom, who likes her useful things…

Picked this out as a gift for my mom, who likes her useful things to look nice too. It fits into her roomy handbag, opens quickly with a button, and gives her a good sized canopy. Once the canopy closes, she just compresses the stem to pack it away again. There's a slip-on cover to keep the usual handbag crumbs and fluff off the fabric. Who says carrying a practical umbrella can't make a wet, dreary day feel a little bit more cheerful?

Gordon Crosby

Big enough open, nice looking too.

My balance isn't wonderful and I originally had an umbrella in mind that could do a bit more than keep the rain off. This isn't a walking stick, of course, and I don't put my weight on it. What I do like is having the closed loop to hold onto, and not a long umbrella to manage when it's folded. Big enough open, nice looking too. I was picturing something fussier, maybe ruffles, but this suits me. Got the gray. Might try another colour.

Breanna Lutz

Good value when it actually does the job.

This is a solid umbrella, not something that feels flimsy as soon as I pick it up. I can keep my shoulders covered and still SEE in front by tilting it a little. We get those unpredictable showers in the southeast, sometimes a real downpour, and so far it's done what I needed. My old umbrellas were forever flipping around lol, drove me mad. This feels much steadier in the breezes I've met. Wish I'd spent a little more on a decent one sooner. Good value when it actually does the job.

Jasmine Schwartz

i can't say that about all the umbrellas i've used.

it doesn't fit in my little purse, but i don't mind because it gives me good cover across my shoulders. most mornings here are dry so mine stays at the office, then i take it out if the sky looks bad when it's time to leave. it's been caught by a few sudden breezes on the way home and hasn't flipped over on me. i can't say that about all the umbrellas i've used. for something that folds away it's felt reassuringly steady, and that's what i wanted.

Alan Allen

The beige shade was what first caught my eye.

The beige shade was what first caught my eye. We get so much rain here that I want an umbrella I actually enjoy carrying. This one is a comfortable size and springs open without any fuss. Closing the canopy is easy too (pushing the shaft back in does need a firmer hand, worth knowing). What I appreciate most is how neatly it packs down. I can get it back into it's pouch without the usual wrestling with a great lump of fabric. That sounds like a small thing but it matters when you use an umbrella often. I'd certainly purchase this one again!

Isabel Anthony

He's happy with the size

Dad needed something for the city that wasn't one of his enormous umbrellas (he was forever catching people with those). He likes the cream white against the black underside, and the button that opens and folds the canopy. He's happy with the size; enough for him but not awkward to carry round. I had looked in shops for something similar and hadn't seen much I liked. This feels like a very good buy for what it does, and dad is pleased.

Mariah Giles

excellent little umbrella.

excellent little umbrella. It came along for a rainy winter in Europe and earned its place in my bag. Compact when packed, with a nicely broad canopy once opened. kept me and my briefcase dry without much fuss. The button is especially handy when my other hand is occupied. On busy pavements I still have to lift or tilt it to let people pass, so it's worth watching the edges, but I'd rather have that than too little cover.

Jenna Macdonald

It isn't the biggest or heaviest umbrella available, which suits me.

After five years of using the same umbrella, I still think it was money well spent. I wanted something reasonably priced that I could take around the city rather than worry about whenever the weather changed. The automatic canopy opening and closing is handy, and once it is shut I press the telescoping section down myself. That is simply part of putting it away. It isn't the biggest or heaviest umbrella available, which suits me. There are probably stronger ones for more money, but for the rain I use it in this has been a dependable choice. A decent product at a sensible price is enough to keep me coming back.

Alejandro Franklin

Several outings in the rain have left me with a good impression of it.

Solidly built, with a simple look that I appreciate. Several outings in the rain have left me with a good impression of it. The oval loop grip feels firm (and looks rather smart), and the button gets the canopy up promptly. It folds down for carrying but opens wide enough for my usual walk to work. I can have my office bag over one shoulder and still keep that covered along with me, which was the main thing I needed.

Jennifer James

This has done a great job with that and the rain.

I'm near a river and we get plenty of wind coming off it. This has done a great job with that and the rain. I love the button opening when I'm carrying too much. Another press shuts the canopy as I go into a shop or get into the car, and I push the shaft down by hand afterward. So much less juggling at the door!

Carla Carrillo

Having my own shade makes being outside much nicer.

Living in Los Angeles, I have to watch how much sun I get. I can feel faint and get burned so easily...even when I'm forever reapplying sunscreen! Having my own shade makes being outside much nicer. I really like these umbrellas. I'm replacing one that airport security took on my return from the Dominican Republic, apparently the metal was the problem. That was annoying but I still wanted another. It'll go in my checked bag next time. Also perfectly useful when it rains.

Alec Hurley

I've used it just a couple of times.

A little heavier than I thought, but I can accept that for something that feels stronger and should last.I've used it just a couple of times. seems fine up to now though there hasn't been any wind so not much of a test yet. I'll use it a few more times and update this later once I know how well it lives up to the description.

Madeline Grimes

how much can you say about an umbrella?

how much can you say about an umbrella? this one actually gives me room. i am not doing that wet shoulder shuffle anymore. i see ppl squeezing under those tiny ones and wonder why they bother. (no i am not sharing mine with someone who decided rain wasn't real when they left home). it folds too which is the best part, although not pocket tiny. Overall it has been a very good buy. Would defintely recommend.

Hector Haney

She's a very capable three year old.

She's a very capable three year old. Carried it through the house and then wanted to take it into the yard. Kept looking up at the canopy and asking Grandma to stand beside her under it, laughing and enjoying herself. Now she wants rain so she can try a walk along the sidewalk. A HUGE success with her.

Shawna Lutz

For something sturdy with good coverage, I recommend it.

It feels double the weight of my previous compact one, very heavy. I wonder how it would be if it bent, though the middle pole seems thick and substantial. The automatic action is good and the sleeve is good. Finish is decent too. It does feel heavy. I'll need to watch my fingernails folding it back in. Too much for carrying around in a bag, but a big umbrella that packs down a little is useful. Not really a light portable one. For something sturdy with good coverage, I recommend it.

Gabriella Moody

They both think it looks great and want a turn whenever it rains.

I should have checked the folded size more carefully before buying. (That's on me!) It takes up more bag space than I imagined, but feels sturdy for the price. My 5-year-old needs some help with it, whereas my 7-year-old finds it easier. They both think it looks great and want a turn whenever it rains. There's plenty of shelter for their heads and coats when they use it. Their shoes still come home wet, apparently an umbrella isn't going to stop the attraction of puddles. :)

Nathan Rush

I thought the price was fair for the quality.

Bought it for my engagement photos and couldn't wait to try it! The size worked beautifully, just what I'd imagined. It also feels properly made, not only something to pose with!! I thought the price was fair for the quality. Hopefully it'll be coming out for rainy days well after the photographs are done. Looks lovely on camera too :] A purchase that made me smile, and I'm glad I chose it!

Julie Patton

Folding down small is a real advantage.

For something so practical, it's surprisingly pretty. I carry it with my EGL outfits & for summer shade. Folding down small is a real advantage. The Green exterior looks lovely & the finish is neat. Some of the more expensive parasols I've looked at weren't nearly as appealing.

Kelsey Wheeler

My skin is very fair and I burn quickly, so having shade nearby matters to me. Sunscreen is still part of my routine, but I like some cover over me too when I'm outside for more than a few minutes. This folds into my larger bag easily enough, and opening it gives me a welcome break from direct sunshine.

Brendan Vance

Straightforward and works properly.

Straightforward and works properly. All I really wanted. My old umbrella had lasted thirty years before finally wearing out, so I was looking for something that would take its place. There's an umbrella tray beside the driver's door in my van, a sensible idea, and this one sits in it nicely. That's where I kept the old one too.
