I've never really needed to own an umbrella here in LA.

I've never really needed to own an umbrella here in LA. We get so little rain that I mostly just put up with it, but the changeable weather lately finally made me buy one. This one is a comfortable size for me on my own. I wouldn't expect it to keep every bit of me dry in rain coming sideways, but for our usual showers it has been fine. Folded it fits my everyday bag, and if that bag is full I can just carry it. The automatic part took a minute to understand. Pressing the button sends the canopy up, and another press brings the fabric together. The telescoping section still needs to be compressed by hand before packing it away. That isn't a problem and the button is especially convenient getting into the car.So far the frame looks strong, the fabric seems decent, and there's nothing about using it that has bothered me.

Overall a nice folding umbrella to take along.

I have a weakness for umbrellas and keep finding more that I like. For what it costs, this one's rather nice. The fabric feels substantial. The green is cheerful without being too fussy, which my sons appreciate after some of my previous choices. Partly why I went for it. There's a sleeve that I will probably struggle to get it back into. (I'm hopeless at rolling umbrellas up neatly.) The button has behaved fine, although one rainy outing isn't enough to judge how long anything lasts. Overall a nice folding umbrella to take along.

Just got back in from the windy rain passing through DC and this umbrella did a good job. It opens quickly and the canopy comes down with the button, which is handy when you're getting indoors. It fits in my purse, but I should probably explain that my purse is really more of a large tote -- not some little evening bag. The frame seems sturdy for something that folds away, and I stayed dry on the way back.I'd recommend it, with the warning that you'll need a decent sized bag to carry it.

Pressing a button to put it up is handy.

This stays in my bag for the train ride downtown an comes out whenever the weather changes. It gives me enough cover without taking over the pavement. I hold it fairly close in heavy rain, which also helps when other people are passing. Pressing a button to put it up is handy.

Colours on a monitor are hard to judge (I know, hardly news), but I had imagined a quieter blue. In person this looks brighter to me, not quite the soft shade I was expecting. Nothing wrong with the umbrella itself, it opens nicely and feels well put together. Just worth bearing in mind if you want a colour that disappears into the background.

Folded up, the handle won't go into the umbrella tube on my bag.

I had recently replaced my golf bag and noticed it had a place to store an umbrella. After getting rained on a few times, having one there seemed sensible. So, the good; this gives a decent area of cover without being a huge thing to carry. The canopy has some depth around the edges rather than feeling flat overhead, and it has kept me dry. The ribs have some give to them too. I also find the closed loop handle easy to carry, although the shape matters when you put it away. The bad: It works well as an umbrella, but I took a star off because it doesn't suit the storage space I had in mind. Folded up, the handle won't go into the umbrella tube on my bag. Whether that tube is particularly narrow or this is just the wrong shape for it, I don't know. It can still go elsewhere in the bag, just not where I wanted it. The other slight nuisance is closing it all the way. A press opens it and a press collapses the canopy, which is convenient. You still have to shorten the shaft manually afterwards, and that needs more of a push than I expected. Once I got used to that it was straightforward, just not quite as effortless as I pictured.

What more could I reasonably want from a compact umbrella ??

After reading a fair number reviews, I decided this umbrella sounded worth trying. It was here in time for some Illinois wind and rain, so it didn't sit unused for long. The frame held its shape nicely and it was comfortable to hold while walking. The canopy has a pleasing shape and the whole thing looks properly finished, not flimsy. You get a good sense of the construction as soon as you put it up. What more could I reasonably want from a compact umbrella ?? A thoroughly satisfying purchase, and one I would be happy to recommend.

Really pleased with how substantial this feels for a compact umbrella.

Really pleased with how substantial this feels for a compact umbrella. The Cream White is just the shade I expected from the pictures, and the canopy gives me a useful amount of coverage. I can see it being handy for someone carrying bags, walking the dog or pushing a stroller. Two people could tuck under it if they stayed close, although I mainly wanted room for myself and what I'm carrying. It springs open promptly without any fuss. The button also draws the canopy closed, which is helpful, but you still have to compress the telescoping section yourself before putting it away. That last part takes another hand, so it isn't completely one handed when you've got several things with you. I don't find that a big deal. I can get my bags settled before finishing up, and while it's open I'm not trying to squeeze myself into a tiny dry spot. At around 40cm folded, it goes in a suitcase or a larger bag, rather than my small handbag. Still much easier to take along than an umbrella that stays full length. The oval loop handle feels secure in my hand. For what I paid, the whole thing feels like good value. I looked at quite a few options before deciding and am glad I picked this one. It has done the job in heavy rain without making it a struggle to carry. I would happily get another as a present for a couple I know.

After a year of use it's still working well and keeping me dry.

Some city umbrellas seem barely wide enough for your head, while others could shelter a bus queue. I wanted something between those extremes. At 6'4, I'm not interested in carrying a tiny scrap of cover, but I don't want to make everyone else step off the pavement either. This has been a sensible size for me and it looks smart, too. I'd be quite happy taking it into a business meeting rather than arriving with some enormous promotional umbrella tucked under my arm. The button is handy when the weather changes, and the handle gives me a comfortable grip. After a year of use it's still working well and keeping me dry. Feels properly put together, not like something I have to baby. No complaints.

Hunter Benson

I haven't been gentle with it.

I've used mine for over a year and am now buying one for my aunt. It gives welcome shade on sunny days, although humid weather still feels humid underneath it. In the rain it has kept me nicely covered and held up well on breezy days. There's a useful amount of canopy without having to carry a huge umbrella around. Its still looking good despite my habit of dropping it on the floor rather than putting it away properly. I haven't been gentle with it.

It is nice to have another option!

My sensitivity to bright sunlight means I often shop with getting a bit of cover in mind. Clothing was always my first thought, and carrying an umbrella for shade hadn't really occurred to me until recently. It is nice to have another option! I've had this one out a few times now, on sunny days as well as in rain with some wind, and so far it has done what I wanted without any fuss. I chose Beige and it's a quiet, neutral colour rather than something I have to think about matching with whatever I'm wearing. The fabric and frame feel substantial when it is open, without the whole thing being a burden to carry. Putting it away has been straightforward too. I haven't had much experience with this sort of compact automatic umbrella, so I did wonder whether it would be awkward. The button brings the canopy down, then you compress the telescoping section yourself until it catches. That last part needs a slightly firmer push than my old umbrella did. My fingers can be arthritic and some days that matters more than others, but I have still managed it fine. It isn't something that has put me off using it. Overall I like how solid it feels, the plain colour suits me, and being able to use it for both a patch of shade and actual wet weather makes it worth carrying. Folded up it fits down in my bag and doesn't feel like a lot of extra weight. For something I can just keep with me rather than plan around, it has been a really useful purchase!

Carl Keith

Easy to take with me.

The folded size is small, so carrying around is not much trouble. For sunlight it is useful, and also for rain when it comes suddenly. If something is too heavy then putting it in a handbag becomes work. The button does the opening and canopy closing, then I push the stick down by hand. Not very difficult. Easy to take with me. For ordinary weather rather than extreme weather.

Roberto Levy

Sometimes you like the look of something but it isn't much use.

Not telling my fraternity brothers where i found it, otherwise we'll all be carrying the same umbrella! It looks good and the quality is there too, which was what i was hoping for. Sometimes you like the look of something but it isn't much use. No such problem here, a really good umbrella and one i'm glad i bought.

Belinda Drake

still waiting for the parents to send it back.

He was thrilled with his umbrella and wants it along in sunshine as well as rain. It proved a little too interesting at preschool and another child took it home. still waiting for the parents to send it back. My four year old likes holding it when we're together, and I help with opening and putting it away. If it doesn't come home soon I will probably get another, he keeps wanting his umbrella.

Autumn Duffy

I'm really pleased with this one!!!

City living taught me to appreciate an umbrella that feels solid in the hand. Between tall buildings, a rainy walk can get surprisingly blustery, and a flimsy umbrella is not much comfort when you're trying to get where you're going. This one has been a pleasure to use. The canopy gives me decent cover, and the frame feels reassuring rather than rattly. My real difficulty is remembering to bring the umbrella home from a restaurant! I've left enough behind that being able to attach the loop handle to my bag is especially welcome. The button is another thing I appreciate, particularly at the car. Get the canopy out through the door, press, and there's cover before you step out. Coming back, a press gathers the canopy, then I shorten the pole myself. Simple, once you've done it. BTW, it isn't one of those enormous umbrellas, but for everyday carrying that is a good thing in my book. I want something I'll actually take along, not leave at home because it's awkward. I'm really pleased with this one!!! Here's hoping I remember where I put it!

My previous umbrella disappeared, so I needed another.

My previous umbrella disappeared, so I needed another. This one has turned out to be a favourite. Opened up, there's enough room for me to walk normally without squeezing my shoulders in. The canopy is roughly 105 cm across, a useful size without carrying a long golf umbrella about. The frame seems substantial and the whole thing is nicely put together.

Nobody has said anything, they just carry on with their day.

I was fed up with being in full sun even on the short walk from the car to the gym or a shop. Sunblock isn't my favourite thing either - some of it has brought me out in hives.I thought an umbrella for shade might be worth trying, although I was a a little bothered about looking silly carrying one when it wasn't raining. Picked this because the look isn't fancy and it folds down rather than being another big thing to carry. It gives me a patch of shade on those walks and I'm glad I tried it... All that worrying about what people would think was mostly in my head. Nobody has said anything, they just carry on with their day.Would happily suggest it to anyone who's had the same thought

I was happy with how the presents turned out.

Gave these at Christmas to the people who care for my autistic son. They were ahuge success. The umbrellas feel very well made ! A bit larger folded than I pictured, but everyone was pleased to have something useful. I was happy with how the presents turned out.

Karl Frazier

In wet, breezy weather it has been excellent.

Several months of use now and no trouble with it. There is a good amount of cover when open, though carrying it about all day is a little more weight than I want. In wet, breezy weather it has been excellent. Compared with the ordinary folding umbrellas i used before, this one feels much steadier, and the ribs have enough flexibility that I don't feel I'm fighting it. No special reason to carry it on a day that is mostly sunny with just the odd shower, as I still notice it in my bag. When proper rain arrives, though, I'm always pleased I brought this one along.

Jon Abbott

I grew up doing that.

Living somewhere rainy, I know perfectly well that you can just pull up a hood and get on with it. I grew up doing that. But I don't particularly want to spend every grey day disappearing into a raincoat, so an umbrella that looks nice is worth having to me. The green outside is cheerful without being loud, and the plain black underneath is quite restful. It isn't going to turn a wet afternoon into a sunny one, but choosing something I enjoy looking at does help. It reminds me of admiring interesting umbrellas on trips to New York, which is a pleasant association to have. The construction feels solid in an ordinary, practical way rather than something miraculous. It covers me well; two people would need to stay very close. My only real disaster with umbrellas has been someone taking mine from a restaurant stand. I replaced it, but these days I'm more inclined to keep it beside me instead of trusting the communal rack.

Dalton Glover

Feels like it should last a good while.

My 5 year old loves getting this out. Uses it whenever he can. After rain he wants the open and close routine to shake the drops off. Feels like it should last a good while. Four stars because he needs my help pushing the shaft down after the canopy closes. Another job for me, apparently.

Wyatt Watkins

I expect it will last a good while if I take care of it.

After looking at the different options, the black one seemed the most sensible choice for me. The price felt fair for something that looks this well put together. I expect it will last a good while if I take care of it. The oval loop gives me a comfortable grip, and I appreciate having a sleeve to put it in rather than leaving it loose in the car. My only small quibble is getting the fabric neatly wrapped before slipping the cover on; I feel that could be a little easier. Once packed away it takes up very little room. I keep mine across the back of the hatch, where it's handy without having a long umbrella rolling about.

Ann Whitaker

A bit smaller when folded would be handy...

This was meant for rainy walks with my little one, who is three and thinks rain is a great thing. Taking it out of the packaging I was a bit surprised. More substantial than I had imagined, and I wondered whether I had picked something too grown up for him... It is plain black, not the see-through sort I had been looking at. I checked how it worked before letting him near the button. At first I put it to one side, thinking perhaps I should return it and find a smaller one. After another look and a little practice I changed my mind. The button opens it and also brings the canopy down, then I shorten the stem myself. Once I understood that it was simple enough. We hold it together rather than me expecting a small child to manage everything. He likes watching the water run off the edge, which I hadn't really thought about. There is room for him beside me underneath. So in the end, I'm glad I kept it. Looks nice and makes going out in the wet less of a fuss. A bit smaller when folded would be handy...but not a big thing. Seeing how much he enjoys being underneath it has settled my doubts. For what we wanted, it has been a lovely purchase.

I think the oval loop handle is really cool.

An umbrella doesn't have to be boring, even if all you are doing is carrying it along the street. I think the oval loop handle is really cool. Also, the whole thing seems quite sturdy, not just something to look at.But, for me, it could do with a little more width because when it rains heavily I find I have to pay attention to how I hold it to stay covered.

Ross Vargas

Wasn't expecting miracles from this little umbrella.

Wasn't expecting miracles from this little umbrella. It felt so light I thought the first bit of rough weather would see it off. Well, two months later I have to admit I judged it too soon. Still no faith in my football team (a whole other headache!) but this has earned some. It's been out in wet, blustery weather and still opens properly. A touch more heft would feel reassuring, but clearly it manages.

I wasn't looking to go back to carrying a long umbrella everywhere.

Umbrellas are one of those things I keep buying without ever quite finding the right one. I don't enjoy carrying them, but getting soaked isn't much of an alternative. A small one is convenient until you actually have to stand underneath it in the rain, which is where some of my previous ones have been rather disappointing. I've had little folding ones turn inside out as soon as the wind got underneath. The larger umbrellas I've used felt more substantial, but then there was the business of carrying them around when they weren't needed. Pulling a big canopy down low to keep the rain off also makes it awkward to see ahead. There always seems to be a compromise somewhere. I remember using umbrellas when I was younger without thinking this much about them. They seemed to give decent coverage and I wasn't forever wondering which way the top would go next. Remembering that made me look for something that felt a bit more substantial, although I still wanted one that folded away. I wasn't looking to go back to carrying a long umbrella everywhere. This blue one has been a reasonable answer. Once open, it gives me enough cover without my having to hunch up underneath it. It has also felt steadier in use than the really flimsy folding umbrellas I've had. The button opening is convenient, especially when the rain starts while I'm still getting myself organised. I keep the canopy above my eyeline rather than dragging it down around my head, and that has been a better balance between staying dry and seeing the pavement. The catch is that being folding doesn't make it particularly tiny. It occupies a fair bit of space when put away and there's some weight to it, so it isn't the little pocket umbrella someone might be expecting. I can't yet judge whether it will last as long as I'd like, either. Still, it has been useful in the rain I've used it in, and for me the extra bulk is an acceptable trade for an umbrella that feels more substantial.

The shade was the real hit.

Had it with me at the burn this year. The weather during the event was fairly kind, but I did carry it out in some gusty spells and it stayed the right way round. The shade was the real hit. People kept wanting to stand beside me under it. Not an enormous shelter, just a very welcome bit of cover from the sun.

Checked a few places for an umbrella to hire for my daughter in law's bridal shower. They looked worn and cost more than I expected, so I ordered this one instead. Looked really pretty over the gifts, and she gets to keep a little reminder of the day instead of having to return it!

Shade and ordinary rain cover.

At first I expected a fairly ordinary folding umbrella, but there are some useful details here. The canopy has kept me dry in rain and also gives a good patch of shade when the sun is out. There is a black underside, with beige on the outside, so it has a fairly simple appearance rather than a busy design. The button sends the canopy up automatically. Pressing it again gathers the canopy, then you shorten the telescoping shaft yourself before putting it away. It is worth knowing that last part, since the button isn't meant to pull the entire handle and shaft together. The frame has 30 flexible ribs and feels well supported across the fabric. Folded down it is convenient to store, and the included sleeve keeps it together in a bag or the car. The handle is an enclosed oval loop, not the usual open hook. I find that a useful shape to hold without it looking too fussy. I recommend it without hesitation.

I've purchased this for myself before, then for a friend, and now I have an extra one. After using something that feels this dependable you start wanting one within reach rather than hunting around when the rain starts... I recommend it without hesitation. The controls are straightforward, press to open or gather the canopy, then shorten the pole by hand. Very practical once you've done it...

Clinton Goodwin

To start with, it's a good looking umbrella.

Downtown Philadelphia can be pretty unkind to umbrellas. With tall buildings lining both sides of the street, a rainy walk sometimes feels more like being in a wind tunnel. I picked this one up on impulse and have been really impressed. To start with, it's a good looking umbrella. The beige has a lighter look than all the dark ones around me, and the loop handle feels solid and looks neat. But that's not really the important bit. In use, mine has stayed the right way round while umbrellas near me were turning inside out. That's what I wanted it for, and it's done very well. One thing worth saying - no star taken off, because I don't know how you'd design around it. When a strong gust catches this and the canopy holds its shape, you do get quite a pull on your hand. The closed loop gives me a firmer hold, and it hasn't got away from me. Still, anyone with a weaker grip ought to know about that. It doesn't make the wind disappear just because the umbrella isn't folding over. You have to be ready to hang onto it.

Craig Todd

Most importantly I stayed dry.

I ordered this umbrella recently and then spent a little too much time reading through the reviews. A few of them had me wondering what sort of shape it would turn up in. When it came, everything was intact. It was inside a cardboard box with several layers of fairly firm paper wrapped around it. My first choice would probably have been bubble wrap, but once I took all the paper off I could see there had been a decent amount of padding. It wasn't just loose in a big box. It happened to be raining that day so I got to try it straight away, and took it out more than once. I checked it over first and couldn't find anything bent or damaged. Opening it was straightforward and it felt properly made, not like something I would have to be extra careful with just to use it. The beige is lovely in person, quite simple, and I enjoyed carrying it on my walk. Most importantly I stayed dry. For me the size is right for one person. You could probably squeeze someone else in if you really had to, but you would need to stay close. Overall I'm glad I went ahead instead of talking myself out of it over the reviews. Some people seemed to have received theirs packed differently, which was part of my worry in the first place. Mine had enough protection and arrived looking just as I had hoped it would.

I wanted another umbrella after using my old one for shade.

There's a LOT of cover here for something that folds! I wanted another umbrella after using my old one for shade.I need to be careful about being out in direct sun now, and having some shade over me makes a real difference. My young son wanted his own, so I ordered this cream white one thinking it would be the smaller option. It opens out wider than the folded size suggests, so I've kept this and he has the other one.pros:1) Plenty of cover for me without carrying a long umbrella 2) Button makes getting it open quick 3) the oval loop gives me somewhere comfortable to hold 4) good value and looks nice too cons:1) Folded doesn't mean tiny! It still needs a decent space in a bag 2) the button shuts the canopy, then you have to push the shaft back down by hand, so don't expect the whole thing to disappear at a touch.I wouldn't call it a pocket umbrella but for carrying around and getting some shade it suits me very well. The size when open is the part I like most, and the quality looks good.

Alexandra Davila

Really pleased!

I wondered whether this would really be any better for the money, but using it once put that to rest. A gust caught it and the frame flexed without turning into a wrestling match. It gives me a GOOD amount of cover without feeling heavy, and having the button open and collapse the canopy is BRILLIANT.Really pleased!

Jennifer Middleton

A lovely looking umbrella.

A lovely looking umbrella. The blue top is just like the picture and the inside is black, which I hadn't really noticed before buying. The material has a good substantial feel and the oval handle is attractive as well. Nothing about it feels like a flimsy little throwaway. I used it for shade at an outdoor event and was much more comfortable underneath than standing directly in the sun. It isn't an enormous parasol, so moving around other people was manageable, though you still have to watch where the edges are going. Depending on where the sun is, your legs won't always be in the shadow. I would still wear sunscreen rather than assume the umbrella covers everything. Some wind came through during the event and it was easy enough to keep hold of. Happy with both how it looks and how useful it turned out to be!

Brad Castillo

What I appreciate most is packing it away.

I hesitated after reading a few of the less favourable comments, especially as this wasn't the cheapest option. Having actually used it, I'm glad I went ahead. It is manageable to carry and fits in my purse, with enough room over me once it's open. The canopy opens and shuts quickly with the button, then I shorten the stem by hand. What I appreciate most is packing it away. The fabric settles into its folds without a wrestling match, and I can get the sleeve back over it easily. I wouldn't expect a compact umbrella to cope with really wild wind, so I won't treat this one as indestructible. My previous umbrella lasted several years before it wore out, so I'm hoping for similar use here. Too soon to judge that part, but the first outing has left me comfortable about what I spent.

Reginald Noble

rain wile the sun is still out.

The wait for it felt longer than I expected for an umbrella. Now it's here, though, I'm happy using it. The button makes opening easy and closes the canopy without a struggle. It's been useful in the weather we get most.... rain wile the sun is still out. The overall look isn't quite what I pictured, but that's hardly a major issue. If that's my biggest gripe, it's a pretty decent umbrella.

Kaylee Bentley

A fairly important detail for an umbrella.

Fabric - There is more substance to the canopy than I associate with a small folding umbrella. It doesn't have that flimsy, almost paper-like feel that makes me nervous before I've even opened it.Build - Spread out, this is a surprisingly generous umbrella. I expected something rather smaller from looking at it folded. One press sends it up without any fuss, and the framework looks neatly assembled, with nothing sitting at an odd angle. Closing is straightforward too; after the button gathers the canopy, you still have to compress the shaft yourself. The oval loop handle is the least impressive bit to me. Nothing wrong with using it, but it feels less substantial than the rest of the umbrella.Colour - The Cream White is much as I expected from the pictures. Underneath it is black, so there is quite a contrast when you look up into it. Plain, but quite smart. I wouldn't make any great predictions about how many seasons it will survive just from inspecting it. For what it costs, though, it seems a worthwhile step up from the little umbrellas I've generally ended up with. The handle is where it loses a star rather than anything about the opening mechanism. All of this is, of course, written before giving it a proper outing in the rain. A fairly important detail for an umbrella. . . UPDATE (now with actual weather and less educated guessing): It has had its first encounter with wind and rain, and acquitted itself rather well. No inside-out impersonation of a satellite dish, no escaping ribs, and I stayed dry underneath. A respectable little vessel in unpleasant waters. The cream canopy isn't going to strike terror into passing pirates, but apparently intimidation isn't necessary for keeping rain off your head. Its usefulness against Ninjas remains entirely theoretical, and I intend to keep it that way. (**umbrella ownership should not be mistaken for combat training)

Leon Carter

It feels solid and the construction looks tidy.

The open size is about 105cm, and the folded length is around 40cm. For me the open measurement matters much more, since that tells you something about the cover you get, not just where you can store it. I would think of this as an umbrella for one person rather than two.It feels solid and the construction looks tidy. This is my first one of these and I have only just received it, so I can't really comment beyond those first impressions.

Calvin Ware

An excellent umbrella.

An excellent umbrella. I've struggled to find a folding one that feels dependable in Chicago's windy rain, and this has been a welcome change. Opened up, it provides proper cover for me, rather than just a small circle over my head. It is a little longer and heavier in the bag than some folding umbrellas, but I'm fine with that if it means having something solid. It fits in my backpack with the rest of the things I cram in, although mine is a fairly big backpack. I've owned plenty of umbrellas over the years and haven't always been impressed. I'm happy with the money spent on this one and expect to be using it for a good while.

They wanted to take them straight out!

I got two in cream white for my boys, aged 7 and 5, and they were far more excited about umbrellas than I expected. They wanted to take them straight out! One of our earlier umbrellas went missing, so this was a chance to replace it and have one each again. We walk to school and having them folded in their bags beats trying to remember where we left a long umbrella. The opening button is handy, although I still help with putting everything away. Pressing it closes the canopy; the pole needs to be pushed back in afterwards. These aren't tiny toy umbrellas, there's decent room underneath for them. Both boys enjoy listening to the rain tapping above their heads, which makes the wet school walk a bit less of a chore. I like them for the same practical reasons as before, they give good cover and aren't awkward to carry. :) Update after five months: They've been out regularly and are still looking very good. UPDATE a couple of years on: Both are still being used, opening properly and keeping the rain off. Delighted with these!

Overall - I would happily recommend it for everyday use.

Here in Texas the rain often comes in at an angle, so merely having an umbrella isn't always enough. This one gives good cover while still feeling manageable in my hand. I can angle it into the rain without it feeling like I'm wrestling something huge. I keep the front edge clear of my line of sight so I can watch where I'm going. The frame feels solid and has handled the windy, wet days we've had without any trouble. When the rain stops it folds down to something I can put away easily. The family has been reaching for this one whenever we head out.Overall - I would happily recommend it for everyday use.

Nothing went wrong with this umbrella purchase, I am happy with it.

Nothing went wrong with this umbrella purchase, I am happy with it. But I want to complain about those automated answers you get in other online shops. You ask about a product and the reply sounds very certain, then you discover the information was not right at all. Nobody explains that you were not speaking to a person until afterwards. That is no way to deal with customers. I am not saying that happened here, but please be cautious about trusting every answer that appears on a screen.

Green compact umbrella--pleased with this one.

Green compact umbrella--pleased with this one.I had spotted a green umbrella in a magazine photograph a while ago and liked the look of it straight away. I already own another umbrella in this style and have been happy with it, so I wanted the green one as well. Having opened this one up, I'm just as pleased with the quality. It has a solid frame and feels carefully put together, just like the earlier one. I expect to get regular use out of it. The green is a really nice shade, which was the reason I chose this particular one in the first place. It looks good and does what I need an umbrella to do. Happy to recommend it for everyday rainy days!

Of the two umbrellas I picked up for my Jr.

Of the two umbrellas I picked up for my Jr. High daughter, this is the one she prefers. She walks or bikes to school each day and our winters are mostly wet and windy, so decent coverage was the main thing. On walking days she can angle it back a little and still see where she is going. It feels well put together and has been doing the job so far. Hopefully she'll get several winters out of it.

Lovely thing but it isn't a tool.

Lovely thing but it isn't a tool. I tried nudging a coffee cup lid along the ground with it. Why, I don't know. Back to using it as an umbrella. Looks nice enough to keep as a decorative item anyway. No plans to replace it. I'm keeping this one. Sincerely, a happy owner

Had rain forecast for our pop up dinner so got this green umbrella to have with us, luckily the evening stayed dryWe've used it since and it opens easily, feels sturdy and gives decent cover for a folding umbrellaNot sure how we would have managed eating at the table while holding it anyway, glad that wasn't something we had to work out on the night

mine has kept me dry in the rain as well.

Gorgeous in person! It gets noticed and I've had people ask whether it's only meant as a parasol. It isn't just for looking pretty; mine has kept me dry in the rain as well. It has also coped with windy days better than I expected. I was a little cautious about all the folding parts at first, but so far they've behaved themselves. It has that dressed-up look I wanted without needing a long umbrella. Absolutely love using it!

Favourite umbrella I've had....

Favourite umbrella I've had....should have ordered a second! It gives me good cover without feeling like I'm carrying some enormous thing into everyone else's umbrellas. The button is so convenient when I'm done with it too.I wish these were easier to find in shops everywhere!Couldn't be more pleased!

Otherwise it has been easy to use.

We tried two similar umbrella's and this is the one I prefer. Seems much sturdier then the other. It has been used plenty in the first week, rain on four of the five days and some breezy weather too. Nothing to complain about with keeping dry. My daughter is six and likes carrying it, although I help her with the final push to shorten it when we're done. Otherwise it has been easy to use. Would recommend it.
