Needed a replacement for my son's old umbrella. The finish looks decent and the handle gives him a secure grip. My fourth grader can work the button, although pushing the stem back in takes a proper effort. I help with that part if he needs it. For what it cost, I'm really pleased with it.

It has felt sturdy when the wind picks up and still looks good.
I like a straightforward black umbrella and this one looks very smart. The canopy gives me enough room for myself and what I'm carrying, which is what I wanted. It is much easier to take along than a full length umbrella too. It has felt sturdy when the wind picks up and still looks good. I'd certainly recommend it.

We picked this up today and our daughter is delighted with it.
We picked this up today and our daughter is delighted with it. She's three and a half and has wanted an umbrella of her own for ages, so she's been interested in every little part of it! I can't say much about how long it will last yet, but it feels nicely put together. The green is a lovely colour and she was happy with that straight away. She can press the opening button while I help her hold it (which surprised me!). Another press closes the canopy, but I do the firmer push needed to shorten the shaft afterwards. It isn't a little toy umbrella, so I still remind her to give other people room. There is plenty of cover over her, and it's nice that we can fold it away when she has finished with it. I wasn't sure how she'd get on with one of her own, but she's so pleased to have it. One delighted little girl and a good purchase as far as I'm concerned.

Quite taken with this umbrella, especially the odd loop handle.
Quite taken with this umbrella, especially the odd loop handle. I do worry about gripping it when a gust catches it (probably just me). The button works well, though i find all the bits underneath a little flimsy looking. Nothing has given me trouble so far, so i'm happy with it overall.
Kirsten Haas
Good value for what I paid.
Love how this umbrella looks - the pink is pretty, it feels sturdy and there's plenty of cover. I chose it for a photo shoot and we had a lot of fun with it, but it isn't just a prop, I'll be taking it out in the rain too. Good value for what I paid. It was a last minute choice and I was relieved to have it ready in time!
Calvin Henderson
This is a much better balance of cover and portability.
I had put up with little folding umbrellas for too long, the sort that leave the edges of your clothes wet and feel flimsy in your hand. This is a much better balance of cover and portability. Pressing the button gives a smooth opening rather than a sudden fight with the frame. I still wouldn't open a wet umbrella right next to somebody, but it doesn't feel jerky or uncontrolled. The ribs and joints look substantial without making the whole thing look clumsy. Getting into the car is easier too: I can let the canopy fold with the button once I am sheltered, then push the stem down for storage. It has stayed neatly closed afterwards instead of needing constant rearranging. The size is comfortable for me and my bag without looking like I'm carrying a huge golfing umbrella. And the pink is easy to pick out among all the dark umbrellas, while still looking smart with a suit.
Tyrone Kennedy
I like using it, though I'd trim a little weight if I could.
I've not had much luck hanging onto umbrellas, and some have felt flimsy from the start. This feels like a better bet. I like using it, though I'd trim a little weight if I could. Still, for what I paid, I'm pleased with it- a useful umbrella I'd happily recommend.

The oval handle sits nicely in his hand and is easy to hold onto.
This has done a terrific job keeping my husband dry on his walk into work, and I can tuck in next to him if we stand close. It doesn't take forever to dry afterwards, either (a real plus). The oval handle sits nicely in his hand and is easy to hold onto. A button brings the canopy up quickly, so he isn't standing there fiddling while getting wet. Putting it away is straightforward too; close the canopy with the button and press the telescoping section down manually. it's a smart looking umbrella, nothing fussy about the style, and suits him for the office. His building is in an open area in the midwest, so the walk across can be breezy. So far the frame has coped well on those days and he keeps reaching for it. Very good purchase.
Wanda Lynch
I like how little space it needs folded up.
I lost three umbrellas in two months so I was ready to try something else. The city gets windy and this has coped well on my walks. I like how little space it needs folded up. Might still get a larger one for really heavy rain because I would like a bit more coverage then
Angie Chavez
Thanks for making a good umbrella.
we've had ours nearly 2 years now, and it's still doing great! So, so simple to pop open and fold away. My boys have no trouble using it either. I'd been meaning to get another for months and finally bought one. Glad to have a second..it's something we actually use! Thanks for making a good umbrella.

When I took off the wrapping, and everything was in good shape.
The box was rather knocked about when it arrived and I was worried the umbrella might have suffered inside. When I took off the wrapping, and everything was in good shape. I opened it up to check and tried the canopy closing button as well. All worked as it should. It looks well made and it is just the sort of umbrella I needed!
Phillip Strong
Still, the overall look is lovely.
My daughter likes the simple style, and I must say it looks quite sweet without looking babyish. The canopy is a bit larger than I expected for her to carry. Still, the overall look is lovely. It's less dressy than I thought it might be (so she can use it for church as well as school)
Vernon Mccoy
Very pleased with what I got.
After losing my previous umbrella I needed another, and I have to say this was a very good choice. The construction feels solid, everything moves smoothly, and it seems like money well spent. I don't need anything fancy, just an umbrella I can take with me and trust to keep the rain off. So far this has done exactly that and I would happily reccommend it to anyone looking for a decent everyday umbrella. Very pleased with what I got.
Caitlyn Benjamin
Anyway, this is a very good umbrella.
I don't understand the idea that an umbrella has to be for a man or a woman. It's something you stand under when it rains, not a personality test. I'm a woman, and that is about as relevant as my shoe size here. Anyway, this is a very good umbrella. Closed up, it fits in my backpack or a decent sized handbag. A tiny evening purse? No, let's be realistic. There is a sleeve, so it can be put away tidily rather than getting mixed up with everything else. The button opens it and also folds the canopy down. You still compress the telescoping stem yourself afterwards, which is fine, but don't expect it to disappear into the handle by magic. It feels substantial without being a great lump to carry. Open, it gives me good coverage, rather than making me choose which shoulder stays dry. It is not some enormous family shelter, thankfully. You can use it on a pavement without requiring everyone else to evacuate. I haven't had it out in really wild weather, so no grand predictions there. For normal rain, very impressed.
Anne King
Its for one person, not something I'd count on sharing.
I'd been making do with free conference umbrellas for years and finally bought something decent. This fits in my backpack without having to rearrange everything, yet gives me enough cover unless the wind really gets going. Its for one person, not something I'd count on sharing. For a proper downpour I still bring a big golf umbrella, but having this along means I'm not left completely exposed when rain starts. The construction looks solid and I expect it to last, though that's an early impression. The push button opening is the part I particularly appreciate. My last little folding umbrella had to be opened manually and it was a pain trying to juggle things to do that. Somehow I always have a bag in one hand, or my phone, and getting both hands available just to put an umbrella up isn't terribly practical. This is a much easier thing to have with me every day.
James Potter
That's not really how I carry an umbrella.
At first I wondered if the loop handle would be more useful for someone who carries things on a belt. That's not really how I carry an umbrella. But the handle is comfortable just holding it, and the whole thing still fits in my purse. So it hasn't been a drawback at all. I've taken it out several times now and it has worked nicely each time. I'm glad I ordered it.
Edgar Bush
Nice to have an umbrella she actually wants to take along.
My daughter loves using this umbrella--and I can see why. It feels sturdy for the price and she's found the button easy to use. I've shown her how to push the stem back in after closing, so she doesn't struggle with putting it away. Nice to have an umbrella she actually wants to take along. I'd happily choose it again.
Brent Wong
She's very happy with it.
An umbrella was on my daughters Christmas list, which seemed a funny thing to ask for until I thought about her working days. Her car sits outside at work and she has that walk across the parking area to the building. Having this ready means she can get herself covered before setting off, without carrying a great big umbrella all day. She's very happy with it. The trick now will be remembering to leave it within reach, not shut away in the trunk.

This umbrella is one of those exceptions!
My tastes are rather steampunk, so practical purchases usually leave me wanting to alter them. Finding something useful that I'm content to leave alone is rare. This umbrella is one of those exceptions! The simple canopy and oval handle appeal to my eye without getting in the way of using it. Rain is dealt with, and it also provides welcome shade (I'm sensitive to sunshine). My friends have admired it, which is gratifying. I actually look forward to carrying it instead of treating it as necessary clutter. An everyday object with some elegance!
Jackie Suarez
I'm getting a lot of pleasure from it.
With the medication I take I have to watch how much direct sun I get, so I wanted an umbrella for shade that still felt pretty and feminine and not just something for wet days. This one makes me feel quite dainty and I've had nice comments while carrying it around. I'm getting a lot of pleasure from it.
Christie Mooney
The button works well and the coverage is good.
The umbrella looks nice. The handle took a little getting used to. Not the shape I normally go for. After holding it a few times it felt better. The button works well and the coverage is good. Keeping it, although I would prefer a slightly more comfortable grip.
Kristy Reynolds
My daughter had this umbrella for Christmas.
My daughter had this umbrella for Christmas. It looks just as nice as the picture and seems fairly sturdy. I would say it's more of an adult-sized canopy that folds down, rather than a little child's umbrella (so younger children may want some help handling it).
Norman Flores
The pink is lovely though, and it folds away neatly.
I didn't quite picture how much room it would take up open. Handy if you're walking everywhere, less useful for the little trips I make. The pink is lovely though, and it folds away neatly. I passed it on to my sister. She likes the coverage, I just wanted something a little smaller.
Heather Russo
Solid umbrella and it has been useful for both sunshine and rain.
Solid umbrella and it has been useful for both sunshine and rain. I am at the soccer field every week with the kids, so having some shade or something to keep me dry makes a big difference here in Hawaii. Easy enough to bring along and use. It seems like a good quality purchase and I hope I get years out of it.
Philip Mejia
It came well packed and was here quickly.
Opened out, this umbrella gives a decent amount of cover, considering how much smaller it is once folded. I had pictured it being a little wider, but for one person it is quite sufficient. The short folded length makes it handy to carry while walking, though it is certainly not one to use as a walking stick or put any weight on. The opening action seems solid enough and there is no loose feeling where the handle meets the umbrella. It came well packed and was here quickly. I would suggest it to somebody wanting a compact umbrella with a loop to hold onto, rather than a long handle. The black colour is plain, which suits me, and nothing about it seems too fancy for everyday use. There is a sleeve to put it away in once it has dried off. This is thin enough that I can fold it into my coat pocket while I have the umbrella up, rather than having something else dangling from my hand. If I changed anything it would be to give the handle a little more texture. With wet hands I find myself paying more attention to my grip, although the closed loop gives me somewhere secure to keep my fingers. A rougher patch would make that part a bit nicer to use. Still, it is meant to provide cover and be easy to carry about, not to do every job on a walk. For what it costs I think it does its own job well, and it looks quite smart without making much of a statement.
Brittney Clements
I haven't had it out in rain yet.
The beige makes it look rather like a little parasol, which suits it. Nicely finished and pleasant to hold, but I'm a tall person and usually go for a much broader umbrella (I'm 6'2", so compact isn't always my friend). I haven't had it out in rain yet. Open, it gives decent shade over my head and shoulders, just not the generous arm coverage I prefer. It is useful for that, and probably enough for someone wanting a normal one-person umbrella - I was really after something oversized.
Vicki Delgado
It feels well made and has kept me dry.
Been using mine for a few months now, usually on the walk to and from work a couple of times each week. It feels well made and has kept me dry. One small niggle is that it can shift about inside the sleeve unless I hold it at the end, but it's hardly a big problem. The look has drawn a few curious glances....some approving, some less sure what to make of it. I like it anyway, and would happily recommend it!!
Leslie Ware
If it stays this good with regular use, I'll be happy.
Good coverage for a folding umbrella - not an enormous golf one, but roomy enough for me without feeling awkward to carry. The frame feels solid, although I've only had a few chances to use it so far. The button opening is convenient, as is having it fold the canopy when I'm finished. You still have to compress the pole manually, which takes a firmer push than I expected. A shake gets most of the rain off before I leave it to dry. If it stays this good with regular use, I'll be happy.
Kerri Delacruz
I'd be quite happy to buy another when I need one.
I don't see it the way the previous reviewer does. These feel well made to me, and the button action has been smooth on mine. I actually use these umbrellas and have given several as gifts, so this isn't just a guess from the pictures. For the price, I haven't found anything I prefer carrying. I'd be quite happy to buy another when I need one.
Joshua Mckee
A much sturdier umbrella than the one I had before.
A much sturdier umbrella than the one I had before. The old one always felt as though a breeze would finish it off, which was not much use when I needed to get somewhere dry. This one gives good coverage over my shoulders and has been comfortable to use in rainy, breezy weather. I don't think any handheld umbrella should be treated as completely wind-proof, whatever people call them, but this frame feels reassuringly solid. It folds down for carrying as well, so I'm not stuck with a long stick for the rest of the day. For the money I think it is an excellent buy.
Shelia Lester
The button opening is handy.
Bigger folded than my usual little compact. I haven't tested it in really windy weather, but for the rain I've had so far it's been good. The ribs feel substantial and the fabric seems good. The button opening is handy. It also gathers the canopy when you press it again, then you shorten the pole yourself. My small complaint is packing it away in the sleeve. Unless I get the folds sitting quite neatly, it's a tight squeeze and more fiddly than I want after using it.
Sheena Rodriguez
The button is what sold me on this umbrella.
The button is what sold me on this umbrella. I had read the description and somehow pictured the WHOLE thing shrinking at once when I pressed it. In fact the canopy collapses, then you compress the telescoping shaft yourself. Once I understood that it made perfect sense. Getting into the car is where I appreciate it most. You can tuck the folded canopy through the door instead of hovering outside in the wet while you wrestle a full umbrella shut. Then, sitting inside, I finish pushing the shaft down and wrap it up properly. Same thing going into a building. A little detail that makes using an umbrella much less of a performance!
Bobby Tate
A good umbrella overall.
A good umbrella overall. My old one needed replacing, and I wanted something a little nicer looking for the streets of New York. The beige appealed to me. So far wind hasn't given me trouble (which matters because my street feels like a wind tunnel. The button handles opening and closing the canopy, but you still have to compress the shaft yourself. I'd prefer that last step to take a bit less pressure. Not a big complaint, just the one thing I'd change.
Leslie Webb
The pink is more eye-catching than I had pictured.
The pink is more eye-catching than I had pictured. (Hopefully the bride won't mind.) Four stars as figuring out the opening button took me a while. A friend showed me, and now it's sitting open on my couch until next week's wedding. I wanted something pretty that would also keep the rain off, and this certainly makes an impression.
Judith Bush
Really impressed with how well made this is.
Really impressed with how well made this is. Folded up it fits inside my six year old sons backpack, which was what I needed. He loves his umbella and has no trouble opening it or putting it away. Gives him plenty of cover in the rain. Its just right for him and I am very pleased.
Sharon Vaughan
In person the construction is very good!
There were a few things I couldn't work out from the description before ordering. In person the construction is very good! The handle feels solid, not like something that's going to crack if you grip it. Opened up, the weight sits nicely in the hand. It oddly reminds me of holding a practice sword, only smaller and lighter. The included sleeve is for storing it folded, and it slides in easily enough. I had wondered whether it would feel flimsy but it doesn't. I'm pleased with it.
Tracey Andrade
happy to recommend it.
we've been getting a lot of rain and juggling a dog lead with an umbrella was getting old. this one is much easier to manage, including when a breeze picks up, & the cover keeps me dry on our longer walks. happy to recommend it. I'm on my second already (dad decided the first would suit him better!). feels well put together. The canopy shuts with the button, then I push the shaft down by hand.
Bob Terry
I enjoy having this umbrella out on the patio.
I enjoy having this umbrella out on the patio. Sitting there with a beer and a little shade reminds me of those afternoons outside the old town bar. It feels nicely made, and held over my head it takes the glare off without feeling stuffy underneath. Not the big patio type of course, so one hand is occupied. The neighbors have all taken an interest. I tell them they can bring a drink and keep me company, though they'll need their own shade. I dry it before putting it away rather than leaving it out for the weather.
Devon Valdez
You still shorten the stem yourself, but that is straightforward.
The clever part for me is that the same button does more than open it. Press it again and the canopy folds up, which is something my previous umbrellas didn't do. You still shorten the stem yourself, but that is straightforward. Aside from that useful extra, it packs down neatly and feels solid, which were my main requirements.
Dennis Conner
This has stayed right way out & kept me dry when I've needed it.
Working downtown means getting caught in those gusts between buildings along with the rain. This has stayed right way out & kept me dry when I've needed it. Feels like money well spent. I've had umbrellas that were more bother than help in that situation, so it's a relief to have this one.

A button-operated umbrella is one of those things.
Occasionally something ordinary makes me wonder why we put up with the awkward version for so long. A button-operated umbrella is one of those things. (Buttons themselves aren't exactly a recent breakthrough, are they?) Having a hand full of stuff makes that little convenience suddenly seem very clever. It opens without a wrestling match, and another press gathers the canopy. You still have to push the telescoping shaft together, which is fair enough - I wasn't expecting it to pack itself away and make dinner. It covers me properly, and the flexible ribs seem a sensible improvement over ones that feel brittle. The black looks smart too. People have actually commented on it, which I wasn't expecting from an umbrella. I've bought three, not because they wore out but because I have a talent for leaving umbrellas behind. All three have operated smoothly and felt solid, with nothing coming loose or tearing. That sort of consistency is reassuring.I'm still waiting to acquire the ability to remember where I've put an umbrella. Until that particular breakthrough, I'm perfectly content to keep using these.

Wind is a regular thing where I live out on the plains.
Wind is a regular thing where I live out on the plains. I tried one of these first and was happy with how it handled rainy days.A few months later I picked up two more to give away. Nice to find an umbrella I actually feel comfortable recommending to other people.

Lovely gift without spending a fortune.
My boyfriend's mother walks a lot in the damp San Francisco weather, so I sent her this as a present. The blue seemed a nice way of adding a bit of brightness to a grey day. She says it isn't a burden to carry and there's room for her husband to squeeze under too. Lovely gift without spending a fortune.

For anyone packing a small bag, the useful part here is that it…
For anyone packing a small bag, the useful part here is that it folds down rather than leaving you with a long umbrella to manage. I can put it in my backpack and have it there for the occasional shower without having to carry it in my hand all day. Please note, this is NOT one of those tiny emergency umbrellas that disappears into any pocket. You still need to allow some space for it, especially in a tightly packed bag. For me that is a reasonable compromise for getting proper cover when it opens.I would recommend it for walkers and backpackers who want a usable umbrella rather than the absolute smallest thing possible.
Christy Zavala
The cream white is really pretty.
My daughter is at university where it always seems cold and rainy, so this seemed a nice way to brighten those days. The cream white is really pretty. She tells me "It's great, the button makes it simple & people keep admiring it." Also the price was was quite reasonable, which I appreciated.
Caitlin Marshall
I've had a few chances to use it and generally like it.
I've had a few chances to use it and generally like it. Putting it away is the part that takes effort. The button folds the canopy fine, but shortening the pole afterwards needs a REALLY FIRM push with both hands. If that last bit were easier, I'd give it the extra star.
Briana Arellano
On balance I'm happy with it.
On balance I'm happy with it. Looks nice and feels well put together. It is kinda weighty though, and packing it down takes some effort. Pressing the button gathers the canopy, then I need both hands to push the telescoping stem fully in. The sleeve is included, which I appreciate for carrying it about, but getting everything tucked into it is a bit fiddly. A good umbrella with a couple of niggles.
Oscar Warner
Was the handle idea that interested me first.
Was the handle idea that interested me first. Not heavy for what you are carrying but feels like it will stand up if treated right. I been thinking for a while why umbrellas aren't easier to carry when you are on and off buses. Went searching on the internet and there it was, an oval loop right in the handle! Never noticed one like it around here before. Such a small thing but useful when you have other things to manage. I walk and use buses/taxis and these little practical details matter more than people think.I keep recommending it but maybe nobody gets excited about small improvements in daily traveling except me.

Happy with this umbrella after a few weeks!
Happy with this umbrella after a few weeks! It looks nice, springs open quickly and the canopy folds in with a press. Quite roomy once it's up too. Never had it turn inside out. Unfortunately I left it in a bar last night, which isn't exactly a design fault. Another one is on order and I'm going to pay more attention this time :) Maybe keep hold of your nice things :P

A worthwhile online discovery.
A worthwhile online discovery. I searched for an umbrella that looked built to last and watched a few videos before choosing this one. I wanted one decent umbrella, not a succession of cheap replacements. It's been two years now and I'm still completely satisfied.
