I picked the wrong shade once by not paying attention.
For a bit of shade this umbrella is wonderful, and not much trouble to carry. One stays in the car, another near the front door. Friends have borrowed mine and been rather slow about giving them back! I wanted the cream white, so do check the colour you select before ordering. I picked the wrong shade once by not paying attention.

He was delighted when he opened it.
Our 3 year old son had an umbrella on his Christmas list, so we spent a while comparing quite a few online before choosing this. He was delighted when he opened it. It has a nice neat look and he loves seeing the canopy pop up when we help him with the button. There is more than enough cover for him walking beside us down the street. The tricky part now is persuading him that it doesn't need to be open in every room of the house.

looks lovely and opens up nicely...
i was pretty exited when it came...looks lovely and opens up nicely...i love using it myself but there isnt much extra room if someone wants to share...for the price i hoped for a bit more space...still its handy for rain and a bit of shade...my 6 year old sister doesnt find it comfortable because the handle sits too far down for her...so im keeping it for myself and overall im happy with it.

She's only three but very sure what she likes.
She's only three but very sure what she likes. Took the cream white umbrella through the house and into the garden, then wanted Grandma beside her underneath. She kept looking up at it and giggling. Now she's asking for a wet day so she can take it along the sidewalk properly. Couldn't have asked for a happier reaction, a BIG success.

I'm having far too much fun with an umbrella.
I'm having far too much fun with an umbrella. Now I see rain coming and actually want an excuse to take this out. Three months in and that still hasn't worn off. *insert dramatic entrance music* My girlfriend laughed at how excited I got over it. It's an everyday thing but I enjoy carrying it.The only small gripe is putting it back into the sleeve. I have to take a moment and fold the fabric neatly instead of just stuffing it in. Once I do that it slides in fine, so nothing worth getting worked up about. The loop handle feels comfortable too and the whole thing seems nicely put together.Overall, very happy I got it.

For ordinary showers I can use it quite happily.
Well, it deals with the wet part of the weather better than the blustery part. I took it along on a short walk in our lakeside downtown during a spring shower, and found myself adjusting the angle more often than I wanted. The frame stayed firm, but having to keep watching which direction the breeze was coming from isn't my idea of an effortless stroll. Apparently the wind didn't get the memo that I was trying to stay comfortable. That said, the canopy covers me well and nothing looks damaged or strained. The button is handy: one press opens it, another draws the canopy in, and then I push the telescoping section down to pack it away. No problem there. It's just a little more substantial in the bag, and a little less carefree in gusts, than I had pictured. For ordinary showers I can use it quite happily. At this price, though, I was hoping for a more convincing all-rounder.

There's something about it that makes me smile!
Someone had an umbrella like this years back and I've wanted one ever since. There's something about it that makes me smile! We haven't had enough rain lately for me to say much about how it does outside. Still early days, but I'm glad I finally found one I like. :)

For the money, I think it's a decent buy.
For the money, I think it's a decent buy. The green is nice, there's enough cover and the frame feels substantial. I did notice a new smell around the handle, but only with it right under my nose, not across the room. There was a faint smell left on my hands afterwards; soap and water got rid of it. Hopefully a little airing will sort that out, because otherwise I have no complaints.

Living in South Florida means afternoon rain is almost a summer…
Living in South Florida means afternoon rain is almost a summer routine, so an umbrella has to fit in the messenger bag I actually carry. This one does, although it takes more of the space than the really tiny ones. It has felt solid through the showers so far and I haven't noticed any wear from going in and out of the bag. For an everyday umbrella that's still manageable to bring along, I would happily recommend it.

This umbrella was for my daily lunchtime walks.
This umbrella was for my daily lunchtime walks. In summer I find the sun a bit much, and a hat never gives me enough shade. It looked so pretty in the photo's that I decided to give it a try. It was just as attractive when I unpacked it, which made me very happy. Now I have a patch of shade to walk under instead of squinting the whole time. It feels rather nice carrying something pretty on a perfectly ordinary walk. I'm delighted with how it looks and how useful it is.
Gene Watson
Happy to recommend it.
Had this a few weeks and it has already been out in the rain a number of times. Its a handy size once folded. The button pops it open briskly and also draws the canopy closed. The ribs feel more substantial than on the little umbrellas I've had before. Nothing has felt flimsy in normal rainy weather. Happy to recommend it.
Michele Ford
This one has done better so far.
Rain often comes with a good bit of wind where I live, so umbrellas tend to have a short life here. This one has done better so far. The flexible frame feels sturdy and has coped with the wet weather I've used it in. I'd draw the line at flaming rocks from the sky, mind.
Emma Ho
The canopy looks lovely opened out, and the button is handy.
Replaced a similar umbrella we picked up on holiday a couple of years back. This has the same sort of neat, carefully finished feel that we liked about that one. The canopy looks lovely opened out, and the button is handy. If you're looking for a practical present that's still a bit different, I'd certainly consider this.
Catherine Dawson
The finish is lovely and the fabric feels good.
Umbrella received. Looks like the picture. Very pretty. My only grumble was the delivery timing as I wanted it for a party and it came afterwards. Now that it is here I am pleased with the actual umbrella. The finish is lovely and the fabric feels good. I have checked the opening and closing and both work as they should. A shame about the timing, but I am happy with the product.

If I ever need another umbrella I'd happily choose this one again!
My old umbrellas always felt awkward to carry and this one is so much handier! It gives me a nice amount of cover and I love the little loop handle. It's comfortable to hold and the button saves me fussing with it when the rain starts. The ribs have some give instead of feeling brittle, which I really like.If I ever need another umbrella I'd happily choose this one again! :)

I like the way this umbrella looks and how it sits in the hand.
I like the way this umbrella looks and how it sits in the hand. The grip is comfortable and having a button for opening and drawing the canopy closed is convenient. Closing needed a little figuring out, though. After the canopy shuts you still have to press the telescoping stem down yourself, which wasn't obvious to us at first. It was a present for a twelve year old and goes in the school backpack each day. Only a week's use so far, so I can't say anything about years of wear. With children carrying things to school and home I do pay attention to how they handle them. So far this one is working well and we're happy with it.
Derrick Sloan
Such a cute umbrella.
Such a cute umbrella. I use it for college and the open size suits me well (I'm 5'1). Only thing is that it's taking a little more room in my bag than I like, and plus the folds need some care getting tidy again. Overall a good umbrella, has kept me covered walking between classes and no turning over when the weather was breezy.
Rodney Best
so it was lovely to get it right!!
A graduation present for my daughter, who is a musician, and she has been delighted with it. She'd admired umbrellas like this at an audition and wasn't sure she'd find one she liked as much...so it was lovely to get it right!! She took it straight out to use rather than putting it aside, and has had nothing but good things to say about it!!

My husband chose one of these and was delighted with it.
My husband chose one of these and was delighted with it.We've since given a few to friends and people at work, who seem just as happy. The oval loop handle makes it a little unusual and the whole thing feels nicely made.A good choice for someone who doesn't want a completely ordinary looking umbrella.
Derek Hardy
There's a reassuring feel to this umbrella.
There's a reassuring feel to this umbrella. The fabric looks good and the oval handle is nicely finished. Folded, it doesn't take much room, while the open canopy gives useful coverage. It springs open quickly, so I check there's clear space first. How well it lasts is something I won't know for quite a while. Based on the initial quality, though, I'd happily buy another and recommend it.
Claire Potts
For the money, it has been an excellent choice.
Losing my old automatic umbrella really annoyed me because I'd had it for years and knew exactly how it worked. I wanted another with similar coverage and a button, and wasn't sure this would feel as good. Well, I'm now quite glad I had to look for a replacement! Folded up, this one is shorter than the old one, even if the bundle is a little thicker. It goes right inside my backpack now rather than having a handle poking out at the top. In use it gives me the coverage I was hoping for and the frame has a reassuring feel without seeming clumsy. The button takes care of opening and bringing the canopy back in; then I push the shaft down myself. Oh, and the oval handle has been a nice surprise - I find it much nicer to carry than the little round handle on my previous umbrella. I wasn't expecting to get so attached to a replacement so quickly, but I really like using this. For the money, it has been an excellent choice.
Maurice Turner
Maybe somebody else is now enjoying a rather nice umbrella.
I'm on my third one of these -- which probably says something about how much I like it. The blue is lovely, it feels sturdy, and the button for bringing the canopy in is the part I appreciate MOST. Getting into the car in a downpour is enough bother without reaching around the door trying to release a catch. Press it, the canopy folds, and I can get myself inside. The first one went off with a friend at the station. It suddenly started pouring just as she was about to catch her train, so I handed mine over, assuming I'd see it again. Apparently that wasn't to be! It never made its way back to me. I bought another.Last month I left that one at a meeting. I worked out where I'd been and rang around the places, but nobody could find it. Maybe somebody else is now enjoying a rather nice umbrella. Either way, I've just bought number three. I would rather replace an umbrella I know I enjoy using than start trying different ones again.
Stacy Buchanan
This looks like a very good umbrella.
This looks like a very good umbrella. The frame seems solid - reminds me of another umbrella I've had for about 17 years and still use - and everything looks neatly finished. I particularly like the oval handle, a little different from the usual straight grip.It came with a protective sleeve. The canopy opens and closes at the button, then the telescoping shaft needs pressing together manually. That has been easy enough for me, with no awkward struggle packing it away. This is more than I normally spend on an umbrella, but passing it up the first time had stayed on my mind. Glad I went ahead this time.
Ralph Steele
The oval handle is a nice touch too!
The gray fabric has a lovely look, nicer in person than I expected. A really pretty, simple umbrella in my opinion. The oval handle is a nice touch too! Good coverage, not a tiny little canopy. It has stayed tidy with use so far & feels quite sturdy. Happy to recommend.

Haven Compact Umbrella - Gray.
Haven Compact Umbrella - Gray. A solid feeling umbrella that is still small enough to take along easily. The canopy gives me good cover across my shoulders, and it has coped nicely with the breezy weather here. I can walk along the pavement without feeling like I'm carrying something enormous. Love being able to collapse the canopy with one press!! A useful, nicely made umbrella.
Ann Roth
I really love this umbrella, well worth the money, I really love…
I really love this umbrella, well worth the money, I really love this umbrella, well worth the money, I really love this umbrella, well worth the money, I really love this umbrella, well worth the money, I really love this umbrella, well worth the money, I really love this umbrella, well worth the money, I really love this umbrella, well worth the money, I really love this umbrella, well worth the money.
Monique Marshall
I love this umbrella, such a good purchase.
I love this umbrella, such a good purchase. It is honestly one of my favourite umbrellas and I would absolutely recommend it. I might have preferred the shaft a little longer, but for travelling it is great because you can fold it down and put it away. The cream white looks wonderful. I keep coming back to how nice it looks. There is a bit more weight to it than my usual umbrella, but it also feels more substantial, so I am happy with that trade off.
Jamie Davenport
A good wide canopy, and it feels solid.
A good wide canopy, and it feels solid. I'm a tall bloke, so the coverage matters more to me than having the tiniest thing in my bag. I also appreciate how the flexible frame gives a little rather than feeling completely rigid. Opened up, it gives me the room I wanted.
Julian Blevins
Sometimes paying a little extra really is worth it!
After too many cheap umbrellas I decided to spend a bit more.A co-worker has used these for years & that helped me choose.I was tired of the flimsy feel of the cheap ones. This one feels sturdy, well finished and reassuring to open.I've taken it out plenty of times now & haven't regretted buying it. Sometimes paying a little extra really is worth it!

Both of my 20 month old girls think umbrellas are the best thing.
Both of my 20 month old girls think umbrellas are the best thing. This one has been a hit with each of them...so I've ordered another! We haven't tried it out on a rainy day yet. For now I hold it while we wander around the apartment building and they take turns standing under it. They are having a lot of fun with it.
Mercedes Dodson
I'd prefer less effort at that stage.
I'm enjoying this umbrella, feels fairly tough and fits in my bag without much fuss. Opening is automatic and another press brings the canopy down, but I still have to shorten the pole myself. I'd prefer less effort at that stage. Otherwise a decent umbrella when I'm out on my own, easy enough to keep with me.
Kerry Reynolds
A lovely purchase that I am very happy to own.
This was just the sort of umbrella I had in mind and I am delighted with it. The oval handle gives it a different look without being too much. I enjoy having something that feels a little individual, even for an everyday item, and would certainly recommend it. A lovely purchase that I am very happy to own.

She stayed dry and was very pleased to be under her own umbrella.
The school walk is the reason I chose this umbrella. My little daughter comes along when we take her brother to school, and I wanted something that would keep the rain off her without being a great big umbrella to store.I've had flatter children's umbrellas before and they always seemed rather flimsy. This feels more substantial when it's open, and the canopy gives useful cover over her while we're walking together. The button is convenient for me, although I do that part and keep her fingers away from it. She's only two, so I don't expect her to manage the mechanism herself. We've only taken it out once, for about ten minutes, so I can't say anything about how it will last. She stayed dry and was very pleased to be under her own umbrella. I don't leave it around for playing with; it goes up on the shelf until we need it outside again. It seems nicely put together rather than a toy, which is what I wanted. A very happy first outing, and I'd recommend it!
Kristine Wiley
A nice umbrella rather than just a cute toy.
I spent a while looking for an umbrella for my two year old daughter. So many cute ones sounded a bit flimsy from what I read, and I wanted something that would stand up to being played with too. This one looked lovely and the quality has made me happy with my choice. She likes helping with the button and I push the stem back in for her after closing. It has held up well to her playing with it so far. A nice umbrella rather than just a cute toy. I'd recommend it.

I like the enclosed loop handle for keeping hold of it.
This is my second umbrella of this type, after finding that my larger one was awkward to carry in a backpack. I've been through a lot of umbrellas in windy parts of the country, from the coast to places further inland, and I haven't always been gentle with them. Neither have my children. This smaller one has been a good choice for that sort of everyday use. The frame feels substantial without being a huge thing to haul around. It fits my backpack comfortably, though I wouldn't expect it to disappear into a little purse. It looks quite smart as well. I like the enclosed loop handle for keeping hold of it. Once folded it is a practical size, rather than one of those really tiny things. Between the useful size and the sturdy feel, I consider it money well spent.

People actually stop to compliment my umbrella!
People actually stop to compliment my umbrella! I use it as a parasol too (rain cover when it's wet, a little shade when it isn't.) The pink is lovely and it looks like something I picked for the look, not just because I needed an umbrella. It has had plenty of use and still looks smart!Update: mine disappeared from my grocery cart!!!!! Here I am looking for another one. Sigh. Apparently someone else liked it rather too much?
Dominique Brown
Opening the first one made me smile, they look so lovely together!
I ordered eight beige umbrellas for the wedding party to carry rather than flowers. Opening the first one made me smile, they look so lovely together! The colour is just what I had in mind and they don't feel flimsy at all. I took a quick picture for the bridesmaids and now everyone's excited about having them in the wedding photos. Each one has its own sleeve, handy for keeping them clean while we wait for the day. I am really pleased with how they look and couldn't resist keeping one aside for me as well ;)
Beth Schmidt
A handy folding umbrella, fairly light without feeling tiny.
A handy folding umbrella, fairly light without feeling tiny. Closed, it is about 40cm from end to end, which means my smaller purses aren't really an option. Press the button and it opens out to a decent size for one person. The handle is a closed oval loop, not the usual curved hook, and I find it comfortable enough to grip. There is some give in the ribs rather than that rigid feeling, and it goes back into its sleeve neatly once folded.I like the plain look of it. To my eye it is quite a masculine umbrella, particularly in black. The size is the compromise here: not really purse-sized despite being a folding model, but not the sort of huge canopy that will shelter all of you in a proper storm either. For a man carrying a messenger bag, though, I think it makes sense. It can go inside or be carried on the bag without looking bulky or fancy.I passed mine on to my man and he seems very pleased with it. He likes using it, and I like how it looks with him

Opened out, the size suits us well
This is the third one I've bought for our household, after using this sort of umbrella for about five years. What I appreciate is that it feels sturdy without being a great big thing to carry everywhere. The flexible ribs give it some movement when it's breezy, and the loop is comfortable in my hand. The green looks cheerful against a wet pavement too. For some people it may still be a bit bulky folded, especially if you only carry a small bag. I knew that before buying, so it doesn't cost it a star from me. Opened out, the size suits us well; two can tuck in close for a short walk, though I mostly use it on my own.
Theresa Shea
Will add to this if anything changes.
Construction feels solid, with enough give in the ribs that I don't feel nervous about every little gust. Too early to say how it will do over the long term, especially as mine tends to get left in the back of the car, but the first impression is good. Will add to this if anything changes.I didn't spend much more than on my previous bargain umbrella, and this feels like a step up. The oval handle is a closed loop rather than a hook, which suits how I hold it. The opening action is brisk without feeling violent, and pressing the button again brings the canopy in; the stem then needs pushing down to pack it away. Fabric seems a sensible balance between something substantial and something you can actually fold neatly. The sleeve is rather basic and getting everything tidy enough to slide into it takes me a moment, though knowing me I'll probably misplace the sleeve before that becomes much of an issue...
Gilbert Schaefer
Very happy to have a decent everyday umbrella again.
I had a compact umbrella I liked for years, then it disappeared. Maybe lost, maybe someone decided to borrow it permanently. I made do with cheap replacements after that and finally got tired of how flimsy they were. After looking through quite a few options I settled on this, and it's been a good choice. The canopy is around 105cm across, enough for me without getting awkward on a busy sidewalk. I can pass other people with umbrellas without constantly bumping into them. Between the downtown buildings the wind comes from odd directions, and this has stayed manageable so far. The push button is a real convenience, especially for collapsing the canopy before stepping inside. You still push the shaft in yourself to pack it away. My old umbrella only opened automatically. Now that I've had the canopy close at a press as well, I wouldn't want to give that up. Very happy to have a decent everyday umbrella again.
Charles Barron
A useful little umbrella to keep in my bag.
A useful little umbrella to keep in my bag. We get a lot of rain here, so my idea of an emergency umbrella gets quite a workout (there is nearly always another shower coming). It folds up conveniently and has kept me from getting soaked when I've been caught out. There are compromises with something portable, of course. It doesn't have the all-round shelter of a huge full length umbrella, and I wouldn't choose it for standing about in a really wild storm. It's more my backup than my main wet-weather equipment. But for carrying without thinking about it and having something decent when rain starts unexpectedly, it does exactly what I wanted. That's why I'm happy with it.
Perry Gonzalez
For what i paid it feels like good value.
Used it for shade while working as a camera man out in the sun all day. Made a real difference having something over my head. The frame feels well put together and it coped fine when a breeze came through. Havent tried it in actual rain yet so cant give a verdict there. A couple of birds did leave their mark on it though and when i cleaned that off the water rolled away easily, which seems promising. For what i paid it feels like good value. Cant tell you about long term use yet but nothing about it feels cheap to me. Id happily buy another if i needed one, 10/10
Levi Good
It fits my larger bag, though it takes up a noticeable bit of room.
I've accumulated a closet full of disappointing folding umbrellas over the years. What stands out about this one is the more substantial feel when it is open. It folds, but don't expect one of those tiny umbrellas that disappears into the smallest handbag. It fits my larger bag, though it takes up a noticeable bit of room. That is a trade I'm happy to make for something that feels solid in use. A compact umbrella rather than a miniature one, and easily the one I prefer out of the lot.
Autumn Erickson
The oval carabiner handle is handy for clipping it onto a bag.
The button opens the umbrella and folds the canopy down again, but you still push the shaft in yourself. That part takes a bit more effort than I'd prefer, although it all works fine. Once that's done it folds together quite neatly. The oval carabiner handle is handy for clipping it onto a bag.I find that easier than having to carry it in my hand whenever I'm not using it.
Dylan Walsh
That's a handy little part of it.
The button takes care of opening and folding the canopy, although the shaft still needs pushing down by hand. It slides down without much effort. Once it's down I find it quite easy to gather everything back together, which makes packing it away simple.I like having the closed loop at the bottom of the handle rather than just a plain end. That's a handy little part of it.
Janice Banks
Feels exceptionally well put together.
Feels exceptionally well put together. Spending this much on an umbrella seemed a little extravagent, but I'd had enough of throwing flimsy ones away. Roomy for one and manageable for two if you stand close. It feels reassuring on wet, breezy days rather than something I have to nurse along. I'd suggest it to anyone who wants a solid everyday umbrella.
Sylvia Parker
Among the best I've used.
My girlfriend got me interested in these and now we've got a few skattered between home and the office. When you live in the city and walk everywhere a decent umbrella matters. Wind coming round buildings can make carrying one a real nuisance, but these have been dependable for us. They feel durable and don't leave me wondering why I bothered taking an umbrella out in the first place. Among the best I've used.
Sierra Kim
I'm not sure why the questions are about toys.
I'm not sure why the questions are about toys. An umbrella isn't something I'd be judging for educational value, it's meant to keep the rain off. Asking whether it's fun seems a bit beside the point too. So my five stars are for its job as an UMBRELLA, not a plaything. On that basis it's great, and my daughter is delighted with it!
Joann Juarez
These come along on our walk back from school each day.
These come along on our walk back from school each day. We don't get a bus in our neighborhood and I'd rather walk than sit in the pickup queue for 45 minutes. They give us a nice bit of shade, and my 6yr old LOVES strolling along with her umbrella. Apparently having her own makes the walk feel quite fancy. There hasn't been any rain here during the drought, so I can only speak for using them in the sun.
