And I really like that oval loop handle

Florida showers can be a bit much (as anyone with sudden rain and wind will understand), and this umbrella has coped nicely with the ones I've been out in. No turning itself backwards so far, which is more than I can say for some I've had. The green still looks fresh, too. It shelters my shoulders as well as my head... a fairly important detail. And I really like that oval loop handle; a different look, but comfortable and rather smart.

Haven feels like an umbrella somebody has actually thought through.

Haven feels like an umbrella somebody has actually thought through. There's enough canopy to keep me dry without carrying a long, awkward stick around, and the frame has handled the wind I've been out in. The sleeve helps keep it together once folded. Mine is cream white, so it's also easy to spot among my things (without being a loud colour). So far I haven't managed to leave this one behind.

A practical item I'm pleased to put in the auction!!

Another purchase for the silent auction at our golf outing raising money for breast cancer. I wanted something useful that still looked nice on the table. The Cream White looks smart, and the umbrella has a solid frame with a handy button action. A practical item I'm pleased to put in the auction!!

A nice little extra.

Very cute, light to hold, and put together nicely. I mostly wanted some shade (I'm in Southern California, where rain is usually just a bit of drizzle). It has been useful for that light rain too, which I wasn't really thinking about when I got it. A nice little extra.

It needs a firm push.

For walking around in the Southern California heat, I'm glad to have this umbrella. It gives me some welcome shade and will fit into my little bag afterwards. My one reservation is the effort to shorten the stem once the canopy is closed. It needs a firm push. After that it's straightforward to roll the fabric and get it back into the sleeve.

Still these little things are not stopping me loving it!

Such a pretty pink umbrella, and I enjoy the shade it gives on sunny days. The not so good part is folded it takes a little more space than I expected, also the cover is slightly smaller than I imagined. Still these little things are not stopping me loving it!

A little bigger than the usual compact umbrella.

A little bigger than the usual compact umbrella. It's been good in use so far, though I haven't tried it in really windy weather. The ribs seem more substantial than on ones I've owned before. The automatic canopy opening and closing is handy. My one gripe is getting the strap fastened again afterwards. It needs a fairly hard tug to get the two fastening patches to meet, otherwise it's just short. I'm a bit nervous about putting that much pressure on the ribs when wrapping it all up.

Now they actually want to sit out under them.

Ordered these for my two kids, ages 4 and 7, and they have been a big hit! They had asked for character umbrellas, so I wasn't sure what they'd think, but once they took them outside in the rain they LOVED watching the water run off the edges. Now they actually want to sit out under them. Makes me laugh! They feel nicely made and the kids can manage the opening button. I help with pushing the stems in afterwards. These aren't tiny children's umbrellas, so do allow some room.

What a funny little bit of happiness this umbrella is.

What a funny little bit of happiness this umbrella is. Me and my husband can squeeze together underneath. I even sit with it over me when summer remembers to turn up here, yes sitting in my own shade. Rain too it keeps Me covered and that's the point really. I honestly do love it. Still won't put it up in the house though, all that bad luck business!!! Unless I'm mixing that up with something else??

I'd recommend it to other parents.

The umbrella I used to keep on the porch disappeared, so this is its replacement. (Apparently somebody had more need of it than me) I've been pleased with how useful it is. With a young son and a stroller there's always something in my hands, and being able to press once and have the umbrella open is a real help. No stopping to wrestle it up while trying to keep the stroller moving. It covers me well and I can angle it over my son too, though it isn't a full rain cover for the stroller. The folded size suits taking it around our suburban neighborhood and it hasn't felt awkward when there's less space on the pavement. My one little gripe was getting it back into the sleeve neatly. Once I rolled the canopy a bit more carefully that was sorted, and it goes away easily now. Plenty of use out of it already. I'd recommend it to other parents.

Kristine Becker

It is useful as well as being a nice addition to her things.

My sister has quite a collection already, which makes her hard to choose gifts for. I am always looking out for something she might enjoy. This umbrella went over very well and she was thrilled to have it. It is useful as well as being a nice addition to her things. The size seems right, the quality is good, and the automatic button for opening and closing the canopy is a big advantage.

Kevin Butler

Yes, I would recommend.

Yes, I would recommend. I have two and at first I was trying to shut the whole umbrella with the button. The canopy closes by itself but the shaft you push back by hand. Once I understood, no issue with using it. We are four at home so I am considering another two. PD, good purchase, yes.

It wasn't just me who liked using it!

My fiance carried this for months and liked it enough that we're planning to replace the one he misplaced. It wasn't just me who liked using it! There's a surprising amount of room underneath, and the two of us can walk together without fighting over who gets the dry bit. It's not the lightest folding umbrella, and it does take up more bag space than the really tiny ones. For us that's a fair trade, since it feels much more substantial. I'd rather carry something a little heavier that we're comfortable using than save a few inches in the bag.

Jade Chang

A small extra step rather than a real drawback.

For anyone wanting decent coverage without a dull-looking umbrella, I'd recommend this. There's room for two if you're close together, and the finish looks smart. One press opens the canopy and another folds it, although you still need to push the telescoping section down yourself. A small extra step rather than a real drawback. We like it a lot.

Keith Morton

Using this gives me a little childhood feeling, which I love.

Using this gives me a little childhood feeling, which I love. There was a mix-up with my order at first, but it was sorted quickly and everyone was helpful about it. My niece is five and has taken quite a liking to the umbrella. Now she says she needs one of her own.

Jesus Briggs

That resets it for the next opening.

Small enough for a shoulder bag or a roomy handbag, which is exactly what I wanted. I used it several times while travelling in Normandy and England and appreciated being able to get it open quickly when the rain started. The same button gathers the canopy when you are finished, but that is only part of putting it away. You then shorten the telescopic pole by pressing it towards the handle until it catches. That resets it for the next opening. I needed to understand that sequence rather than assume the button would make the entire umbrella shrink down on its own. Once you know, it is straightforward: close the canopy, compress the pole until it clicks, and it is ready again. Not a difficulty, just something useful to know before you are standing outside in a shower. I have two of these, and I like the blue for carrying in the warmer months. The price seems reasonable, so I would replace them with the same kind when the time comes.

Darlene Beltran

No fiddling about trying to open it.

The coverage is very good for something I can fold away, and people have asked me about the unusual handle (it does stand out from the usual ones). I find the oval loop useful for attaching it to my bag when my hands are busy. Best of all, when I'm carrying packages and the rain starts--one press and the canopy is up. No fiddling about trying to open it. Very glad I picked this one.

Yvonne Hinton

A solid umbrella with enough room to cover me comfortably, or…

A solid umbrella with enough room to cover me comfortably, or another person squeezed in close. My one complaint (not much of one really) is that it isn't weightless, and you still need a firm grip when a gust catches it... I'd rather that than something which feels ready to fold up on me, but it is worth knowing.

Sonia Lam

Best of all, nobody got soaked!

Rain was in the forecast for my wedding, so I ordered three umbrellas for me and the bridesmaids (one each, which worked out nicely). Anyway, the gray fitted our wedding colours really well and we got some cute photos with them. Best of all, nobody got soaked! They open out to a useful size and felt sturdy, without being a nuisance to carry.

Daniel Ray

Everything went smoothly, which was a good start!

Only commenting on the purchase and first impressions for now. Everything went smoothly, which was a good start! The umbrellas look nicely finished and feel fairly solid in the hand. I also like the closed loop handle, it seems a practical shape to hold onto rather than an awkward one. We haven't actually taken them out in rain yet, so I can't say much about that side of things. I'll add more once we've used them regularly and can see how they last.

Brent Chang

DO watch the edges in narrow spots!

I knew it would open fairly wide, but I didn't realise how often I'd brush it against walls. DO watch the edges in narrow spots! The gray looks lovely and there's room to shelter comfortably, handy when you live somewhere that seems to rain constantly. It's felt steady on my walks so far. I just need to take more care near rough surfaces, not always easy when you're as clumsy as I am.

Brandy Key

What a handy little umbrella!

What a handy little umbrella! After comparing quite a few pricier ones online I took a chance on this and I'm happy I did. It mostly comes along to my child's baseball games, where I need shade for my fair skin. My husband took over holding it briefly and even he noticed how much cooler it felt underneath. Looks cute as well. Really pleased with this buy!

Sherri Lambert

I just need longer with it before judging how well it'll last.

It looks really smart in person (nicer than I was expecting, actually). I'm not quite so keen on the fabric, it feels rather thin in my hands. Nothing has gone wrong in the few outings it's had, and the frame seems firm enough. I just need longer with it before judging how well it'll last.

Sonya Holland

Would happily recommend it.

There's a bigger umbrella in my truck that I use all the time, but I wanted something less bulky for the car. Being able to fold the canopy with a button is a big help when it's raing and I'm getting in. This one fits in the car's door storage without taking over the whole space. It's compact folded, but opens to a useful size and doesn't feel flimsy at all. Would happily recommend it.

Phillip Mendez

For me it's an easy choice.

This is my second one, and I'd happily stick with it. We get breezy weather here and the frame has felt reassuringly solid on those days. The previous umbrella only needed replacing after an accident that had nothing to do with rain or wind. For me it's an easy choice.

Larry Lloyd

Opens wider than expected, so there's plenty of shade.

Opens wider than expected, so there's plenty of shade. the green canopy looks good and the oval handle sits comfortably in my hand. having a button to open and gather the canopy is handy. would've preferred the underside a bit denser, as some light shows through, but very pleased with it overall :)

Lisa Howell

A neatly made umbrella with a simple, smart appearance.

A neatly made umbrella with a simple, smart appearance. After taking it out several times I'm satisfied with how it does the job. The oval loop feels solid in my hand (looks rather neat too) and a press of the button gets the canopy up without any fuss. It folds down for carrying but opens to a useful size, not some enormous golf umbrella. With my office bag over one shoulder I still get enough cover, which is what matters to me.

Tammy Lewis

Plenty of cover when this umbrella is open.

Plenty of cover when this umbrella is open. It feels solid without being too much to carry. Its opened by a button, and a second press gathers the canopy before you push the stem down yourself. There is a sleeve too. You need to arrange the folds fairly neatly or it is a tight fit going back in.

Jake Allison

Wish it opened a little wider, but it does the job.

My old umbrella was looking tired after five years, so this is its replacement. The cream white looks beautiful and the whole thing seems well put together. Wish it opened a little wider, but it does the job. I've been using it for shade at my kids ball games when the sun gets strong.

Ivan Walls

Both of ours have been going for more than a year.

Both of ours have been going for more than a year. I'd had enough of flimsy umbrellas that bent or gave up in gusts, so wanted something sturdier... These have caused me no trouble at all. Opening and packing them away is straightforward, and they've even put up with being treated rather carelessly by my kids, who are 10 and 5 :)

Hayley Mcpherson

5 year old that's important to him.

We haven't had many chances with this yet, very little rain over the last few weeks. My son is really taken with it though. Wants to bring it wherever he goes and loves working the button to open and close the canopy himself. Being an independent 2.5 year old that's important to him. Seems nicely made so far, not like it'll fall apart quick. Guess we'll find out with more use!

Darius Sherman

The cream white colour looks lovely.

Delivery was on time. Packed neatly with nothing damaged. Opens bigger than I had pictured, which was a nice surprise! The cream white colour looks lovely. Only been out with it twice so far, but the button works smoothly and the sleeve is useful once it's dry. Five (5) stars from me, better than I had thought it would be.

Brittney Murillo

It opens without a fuss and has kept me dry.

I bought this to replace a cheap everyday umbrella and expected a tidier-looking parcel than the one I unpacked. The outer packaging had bent corners and one flap sitting awkwardly out of place. Hardly a disaster, but not a great first impression either. I flattened the corners with my hand and tucked the flap back properly, then put the umbrella back inside. A couple of minutes fiddling and the whole thing looked neat again, so that little presentation issue was actually sorted. The umbrella hadn't been affected, and using it in the rain has been straightforward. It opens without a fuss and has kept me dry. Would have preferred not to tidy the packaging myself, but it cleaned up fine and I'm pleased with the umbrella.

Bruce Curtis

The loop handle is a bit unusual...

A present for my fiance after he passed his martial arts test, and he loves it. Looks smart, but more importantly it opens easily and gives decent coverage. The loop handle is a bit unusual...he gets curious looks carrying it on the bus. Nice to give something that's useful as well as looking good.

Jason Rios

Bright, solid feeling, and easy to carry.

I kept a big golf umbrella for years and eventually needed something to take its place. Looked around for a while before finding this one. What caught my eye was the blue, which is my sort of color, but I also wanted something I would actually carry rather than leave behind. Bright, solid feeling, and easy to carry. That combination sold me. The button makes it easy to open, and the canopy gives me enough room without having an enormous umbrella to lug around. I've had it out with my wife in rainy weather and she's been able to pick me out by the blue when we've been a little way apart. Much easier than looking through a sea of black umbrellas. The loop handle feels comfortable in my hand, too. I like that it comes with a sleeve, because it keeps things together when it's put away. Most of the time mine lives in the car, ready whenever the weather decides to change. It isn't the huge family golf umbrella I used before, but for the way I carry an umbrella now, it's been an excellent choice.

Tyler Mckay

People keep commenting on my umbrella.

People keep commenting on my umbrella. It has a straightforward, masculine look and feels nicely made. The frame underneath has plenty of ribs and seems reassuringly strong. I've used it through several spells of wet New England weather and it's done its job well. There is a little more weight to carry than I expected, but nothing that puts me off using it. Overall I'm impressed, especially with how solid it feels when open.

Cynthia Robles

The beige is nice, nothing fussy about it.

My two year old wanted an umbrella because her big sister has one. I was more worried about fingers and waving the thing around than about the rain.We use this together rather than letting her work it on her own. I press the button and keep hold of the handle while she helps carry it. The canopy closes with the button too, then I push the shaft back down. She gets to feel included and I can keep things under control. The beige is nice, nothing fussy about it. A very useful buy for us.

Gerald Hines

I'm on my third umbrella of this kind now.

I'm on my third umbrella of this kind now. The earlier ones weren't at fault - I tend to leave things behind, and one went missing. This one opens wide enough to give useful cover in a downpour, yet is still a sensible size once packed up. The button needs a firmer push than I'd prefer sometimes, but that's a small gripe with something I've otherwise found really good.

Jackie Strong

Its getting five stars on first looks.

First impression, lighter in my hand than I'd figured, but seems put together good so far. The opening action has a solid snap and the button draws the canopy in neatly too. Fabric was a bit bunched on my first try folding it, but straightened out easily. Haven't had it outside in wind / rain yet so there's not much else I can tell about that. I'm satisfied with the compact size for now. Its getting five stars on first looks.

Frank Rangel

The frame feels sturdy

This compact umbrella gives me a surprisingly generous amount of cover once it is up. In ordinary rainy weather it has been very useful, without being something enormous to carry about. The frame feels sturdy; and considering how often I reach for an umbrella, I think it is money well spent. Mine is pink, a cheerful change from the darker umbrellas I usually use. Very nice! The button is straightforward to find and presses without a struggle. It opens the umbrella and brings the canopy closed again; you then push the telescoping stem in by hand to finish packing it. That little routine soon becomes familiar. I've been using this one regularly and have no complaints about it. The canopy fabric feels better than I expected from a folding umbrella. It isn't just the appearance, either; the flexible ribs give it a substantial feel when open. Being compact hasn't meant feeling flimsy, which I appreciate. There is also a sleeve for storage, and the oval loop is comfortable for me to hold. Ordinary details, perhaps, but they help make this something I actually want to take along. I would certainly recommend it to someone wanting a practical umbrella. Useful in the rain, handy for shade, and a purchase I am glad I made!

Theresa Griffith

It's about as good as I've owned in this size.

I've generally had good luck with compact umbrellas, and this is a favourite! Press to open, press to shut the canopy, then compress the stem ready for next time. That arrangement has been dependable and the whole thing feels nicely assembled. It's about as good as I've owned in this size. Still, I'm calling it almost perfect... I'd feel more relaxed with an even beefier frame, mostly because really strong wind makes me nervous.

Joe Horn

He is fussy about quality, not just how something looks.

Living around Seattle, an umbrella gets plenty of attention, so I gave this to my fiance for Christmas. He is fussy about quality, not just how something looks. He takes this one along all the time now and seems very happy with it. The frame feels sturdy and he hasn't had any trouble with it. He's tall and appreciates having decent cover without carrying an enormous umbrella. On the sidewalk it feels manageable around other people, rather than something he has to keep lifting out of everyone's way. Definitely a successful present.

Billy Keller

This cream white umbrella is prettier than I expected!

This cream white umbrella is prettier than I expected! I liked it enough that I actually wanted to leave a review. The fabric feels really good, and the cream shade is soft without looking washed out. I bought it for my mother and she's so pleased with it! It feels like it should last well. She mainly takes it out for shade, and there's plenty of cover for her. I can see it being useful on rainy days too :) I'm very happy with this one. Now I keep thinking I should get myself one as well, it would be lovely :)

Dean Hobbs

This one opens nicely and has a reassuringly solid feel.

I'd had enough of umbrellas that felt disposable, so paid a bit extra hoping for something more dependable. So far that decision has paid off. This one opens nicely and has a reassuringly solid feel. There's comfortable room for me and another person can squeeze in when needed. Folded up, it goes into my car door compartment, which is where I wanted to keep it. A very worthwhile buy if you're after a compact umbrella that doesn't feel flimsy.

Colton Durham

Took it abroad and got good use from it.

It doesn't take up much space when folded, which makes carrying it about quite convenient. Took it abroad and got good use from it. Two people under it is a bit of a squeeze though. I wear my backpack in front to keep more of it dry, still better than being rained on haha.

Brett Mccarty

I was waiting for some rain to give it a try.

Gray above and black underneath, quite a sensible size for my backpack. I was waiting for some rain to give it a try. Had one wet outing now and it did what I expected, nothing surprising - though ... what surprise was I expecting from an umbrella in the first place? :)

Robyn Salazar

The fabric and finish give this umbrella a well-made appearance.

The fabric and finish give this umbrella a well-made appearance. Its loop handle feels comfortable, and the folded size is convenient without leaving me short of coverage when opened. The opening action is quite brisk, so I make sure there's space around it before pressing the button. Durability is something I can only judge after extended use. At this stage, though, I would be comfortable recommending it and buying another.

Devon Skinner

Would happily choose it again.

Working in a shipyard means being out in wind most days, so I needed an umbrella I could rely on. This one has been with me about two years and I'm delighted with it!! The everyday conditions there have really tried it out. I keep telling people at work how well it's held up. Would happily choose it again.

Hayley Foley

This one feels more substantial and has been fine in the rain.

On the whole, a good replacement for my older umbrella, which was looking pretty tired. This one feels more substantial and has been fine in the rain. My only reservation is the loop handle: it's handy to hang up, but not quite as comfortable in my hand as I hoped. Nothing wrong with it, just a slightly awkward fit for me.

Tom Hobbs

I'd recommend it.

My wife got this for her birthday and she's delighted with it. It's been out quite often already. We can both shelter underneath if we stand close, which is handy. No wrestling to get it open, and putting it away is straightforward too. hard to find anything to grumble about. I'd recommend it.
