Surprisingly good for the money.

Surprisingly good for the money. It has a sleeve for packing it away, and I find the loop handle handy for carrying. Feels like my little weapon against bad weather. Opened up it's sturdy and looks really nice. Kept me dry without any fuss. They could probably charge more for this :)

This was a birthday present for my husband.

This was a birthday present for my husband. Finding anything he hasn't already got is a challenge, so an umbrella felt like a nice change from gadgets. He was delighted! Feels nicely made, the beige is attractive and it stores neatly in his car. Fair price too...a very successful choice.

I've owned a few umbrellas like this - this makes three.

I've owned a few umbrellas like this - this makes three. The previous ones weren't worn out, I just have a habit of leaving them behind. There is enough canopy here to keep me covered in a proper downpour, yet it packs away to a sensible size. The button occasionally needs a firmer push than I'd expect, but that's a small thing. Overall it has served me very well.

The loop handle is handy to hold onto.

My old umbrella went missing and I spent a while online looking for something similiar. Settled on this and I'm glad! It's close to what I was hoping to replace. Covers me properly without being too much to carry around. The loop handle is handy to hold onto. So far so good, hoping it lasts as long as the one I lost. Will have to see.

Honestly didn't expect to be this excited over an umbrella.

Honestly didn't expect to be this excited over an umbrella. The picture was what made me stop and look, and then I went ahead with it and spent the wait wondering if it would actually look as nice in person. Which it does, so that was worth it already. It arrived neatly put away and I had to open it straight off because I just couldn't leave it alone. There's something really satisfying about how it looks opened out, even from underneath, not just when you're looking at the outside like in the photo. I worried I might have chosen looks over usefulness but with the rain we've had it has kept me dry and I still get to feel a bit fabulous standing under it! And the sleeve, I know it's only a sleeve but having somewhere neat to put it afterwards makes me ridiculously happy. I just cant get over being so pleased with something this ordinary. If you're someone who likes an umbrella to be more than a last minute grab by the door, this is such a nice thing to carry! :)

I once left it in a shop a good forty-five minutes from home.

There are cheap umbrellas on nearly every corner where I live, and I have gone through enough of those to know the difference. Most feel disposable as soon as the weather turns unpleasant. This one has stayed in use for over a year and I haven't felt the need to keep a spare ready. It still opens firmly and the frame has held its shape in the rain and breezes I've used it in. I once left it in a shop a good forty-five minutes from home. Rather than write it off, I went back for it, which says something about how much I like it. Nothing especially exciting about buying an umbrella, but a decent one really is worth keeping.

A sensible size and a useful opening mechanism.

A sensible size and a useful opening mechanism. I'd rather buy one decent umbrella than keep paying small amounts for ones I don't enjoy using. The closed oval handle gives you a proper loop to carry it by when it's folded, instead of gripping a slippery bundle. Simple things count when your hands are full. Take an umbrella OR take your chances with the weather, your choice.

Bianca Vargas

An umbrella I would happily recommend.

I'd been looking at this for a while and finally replaced my broken old umbrella with it. It has a reassuringly solid feel and has handled the rain and windy days I've taken it out in. I've had a few nice comments on its appearance too. An umbrella I would happily recommend.

Close the canopy, shorten the shaft, and it is ready next time.

It tucks easily into a shoulder bag or a roomy handbag without taking up all the space. I used mine a number of times on a recent trip around Normandy and England, and being able to get it up and down quickly was very useful when showers came along. One thing worth knowing about the button: it folds the canopy, then you need to push the telescoping shaft back down by hand until it clicks into its closed position. That sets it for the next opening. Until you've done that, it isn't ready for another press to send the canopy up. Once I understood that little routine it was straightforward, not a problem. Close the canopy, shorten the shaft, and it is ready next time. I bought two for different times of year, with this cream white one for spring and summer, and expect to get regular use from them. The price seems reasonable so when they eventually wear out I'll be happy to get them again..

I gotta admit, this impressed me.

I gotta admit, this impressed me. The umbrella feels strong and works just as described. The delivery was the real surprise though. It came from overseas and reached me in Brazil within five days. Pretty amazing for an international order, and I'm happy with it.

Overall I was very pleased with how they worked for our number.

We had around twelve of these for the children's dance in our elementary school talent show. They were a good size for the routine and the children managed them well. Given all the rehearsing and handling, they did well. Getting them all folded neatly afterwards was the fiddly part. Overall I was very pleased with how they worked for our number.

Almost everything about the size and everyday use suits me.

Almost everything about the size and everyday use suits me. It's easy enough to carry, opens to a good size and i really like the button for opening and closing the canopy. The bit i'm less keen on is pushing the shaft back in by hand afterwards. Nothing has gone wrong, it just needs more effort than i expected and i usually have something else in my hands. I still use it all the time though. Would have been five stars if putting it away was as effortless as opening it, but overall its a handy umbrella and i'm keeping it.

This umbrella has a bit more style than my usual rain things.

This umbrella has a bit more style than my usual rain things. The cream white looks lovely and I get good coverage for one person without taking over the whole pavement. I'm 5'6" and a small/medium build, and it suits me nicely. The sleeve is handy when it's dry, although I don't really want to stuff a wet umbrella into it as soon as I reach somewhere. I still look for a spot by the door to leave it. Other than that, I'm pleased with it and wouldn't want to leave it behind.

Wanted a folding umbrella to take on a beach holiday.

Wanted a folding umbrella to take on a beach holiday. This one is cute, and it feels surprisingly solid. I have used it for showers and for a bit of shade. It gets smiles and questions about where it came from. Makes me smile too- a small thing that cheers me up!

Jack Shepherd

Plenty of coverage over my shoulders and what I'm carrying.

Plenty of coverage over my shoulders and what I'm carrying. It has held its shape in the breezy showers we've had, without me struggling to keep it overhead.Feels like money well spent for a proper everyday umbrella rather than something I'll be replacing straight away.

Wyatt Becker

I would happily recommend it.

Handy for a walk in the rain, a little shade at the beach, or carrying around the golf course. I paid a fair price and the way it opens gives me a good impression of the build. Gray is simple rather than flashy--very smart looking. I hadn't bought a folding umbrella in a while, and having a button to open and collapse the canopy is a welcome change. Convenient to take along and pleasant to use. I would happily recommend it.

Denise Simon

My reservation is the handle.

The umbrella was a hit with my nearly three year old, and it looks nicely put together. He figured out which button to press after a little practice, although I still push the shaft back down when we're done. My reservation is the handle. It has a closed oval loop, and I would personally find a longer grip easier when I'm keeping an eye on him and also carrying the baby. There is somewhere to hold on, just not the shape I'd naturally choose. He is so delighted with it that I wouldn't want to take it away from him now. I like the umbrella overall, but the handle keeps it at four stars for me.

Frances Donovan

It's cute and the oval handle is easy for her to hang onto.

Seeing how excited my daughter was over this umbrella made me smile! It's cute and the oval handle is easy for her to hang onto. Some of the novelty ones we looked at had HUGE chunky grips... not much good for little hands trying to hold on in the rain. This feels MUCH more manageable, and she thinks it looks great. :)

Kerry English

Anyway, it feels good in use and I'm happy I didn't spend alot more.

I had been looking at much more expensive umbrellas, the sort that seem to cost extra just for a fancy handle. Wasn't sure something at this price would feel decent enough. But this one is perfectly fine. There is enough cover for me and it isn't difficult to manage. A plain straight grip would still be my preference over the oval loop - maybe there is some clever reason for it, I haven't worked that out. Anyway, it feels good in use and I'm happy I didn't spend alot more.

Allen Webster

A good umbrella in its own right.

I needed a replacement after the cheaper umbrella I tried let me down. This one was for a performance the following day, so I was relieved to have it ready in time. It opened properly and looked good for what I needed...I would certainly buy one again. A good umbrella in its own right.

Kelly Carlson

This gray umbrella has won me over.

Umbrellas were never really my thing. I usually wear a rain hat. A proper hat, not one of those little folded plastic things. Then bus duty at school had me standing out in pooring rain and I decided a hat wasn't quite enough. This gray umbrella has won me over. It's simple looking, which I like, and big enough to shelter me without being enormous. The automatic opening is especially welcome when I need to get outside quickly, and I like the button closing the canopy too. Might even persuade me to dance in the rain.

Julie Mccann

Excellent value as a sun umbrella!

Excellent value as a sun umbrella! Room for two if we're close, without feeling unwieldy, and works for a shower too. Light enough for me. I'm gentle when packing it away, simply because folding mechanisms make me cautious, not because anything has gone wrong. At this price I am more than happy with it.

Denise Beck

I'm small and prefer less to lug around.

I like the beige and the look of this umbrella, but I found it bulkier to carry than I wanted. I'm small and prefer less to lug around. I clipped the loop handle onto my bag instead of trying to pack it inside, and that left me the space I needed without another thing in my hands. I've carried it that way since, quite happily.

Jim Thornton

The gray looks nice, too.

This is a very useful umbrella, with a generous canopy and a surprisingly manageable folded size! I use an electric wheelchair to get across our campus, so an umbrella has to be practical to carry as well as useful once it is raining. I've kept little folding umbrellas in the back of my chair before, but some left too much of me exposed. Taking a long umbrella as well was just another thing to keep track of all day. (not ideal) This one gives me a better balance of coverage and portability. The gray looks nice, too. The button on the handle opens the canopy promptly, which saves me fiddling around when the rain starts. Pressing it again gathers the canopy down, useful when I'm coming into a building or getting into a car. That does not shorten the pole all by itself. Once I'm sheltered I press the telescoping pole together by hand to return it to its folded size. Then it can go in the sleeve when dry. I particularly appreciate being able to collapse the canopy first and deal with the rest out of the rain.

Olivia Lindsey

For my use this is just right.

I can see why some people might want something heavier, but I wasn't looking for an umbrella to face every kind of storm. For my use this is just right. If heavy rain was an everyday thing I'd probably choose something bigger and more heavy duty. This is for getting between classes or from the car into work during those summer showers, and it has been perfect for that.

Patty Sanford

Ordered two and have had them out a few times now.

Ordered two and have had them out a few times now. Both look as described. The quality seems good for the money, and the loop handle feels solid and nicely finished. No trouble with the opening button. Only had a few days use so I can't tell you how long they'll last, but right now I am pleased. One is plenty for a person, I wouldn't buy it expecting a big group umbrella. I've looked locally and wasn't finding anything I liked as much at this price. Keeping a second is sensible if you tend to leave one somewhere or want one ready in reserve. Could also be a nice useful gift, or something to have at an outdoor wedding just in case :). For what I paid I have no complaints.

Kevin Johnston

Not heavy to hold either.

Just what I was hoping for. At first glance I thought the whole thing was black. The outside is actually a lovely green and it has black underneath, which I like when I'm using it for shade! Not heavy to hold either. The details feel nicely finished without being fussy. It is more useful than I expected, for rain as well as sitting out of the direct sun. I have long hair and don't enjoy having the sun beating down on my head, so this suits me very well!

Seth Blair

Seems a good quality umbrella and she's very happy with it.

I ordered this umbrella for my five year old daughter, who'd been asking for one of her own for a while. Let her open the parcel and she was so excited to see it. She particularly likes being able to press the button herself, though I help with pushing the shaft down afterwards. It's been opened and shut quite a lot already because she keeps wanting to try it. We've taken it out on two rainy days and it gave her good cover both times. Seems a good quality umbrella and she's very happy with it.

Charles Dalton

It's a pretty umbrella and the button makes opening it simple.

My daughter really likes hers, especially the cream white colour and the size. It's a pretty umbrella and the button makes opening it simple. The only thing is, it needs a bit of a push to shorten it after the canopy closes, so I help her with that. Still a nice buy and she likes carrying it.

Cole Holden

Overall it feels well made and I am happy enough with the value.

Automatic opening was the main thing I wanted, and that part is very good. Closing is a two-step business though. The button brings the canopy in, but you still need to compress the telescoping stem by hand before it is fully packed away. That is how it is meant to work, but I hadn't really thought it through. Getting the fabric wrapped tidily takes me a little patience as well. If your hands aren't as strong as they used to be, it is something to bear in mind. Overall it feels well made and I am happy enough with the value.

Our four year old wanted an umbrella for his fireman costume, like dad

Our four year old wanted an umbrella for his fireman costume, like dad; this seems nicely made, with material that feels like a regular grown up umbrella. He's pleased with it, though it's an adult size so I help him with the button. Wouldn't be my choice for a really windy outing, but quite happy with it for normal rain. Should be handy if Halloween turns drizzly and we're doing the fireman costume again!

Renee David

That was lovely to hear.

My daughter walks between the station and her workplace in DC, so I wanted her to have a decent umbrella. Her previous one made windy days hard work and she specifically asked for a button to open and close the canopy. The new one seemed to fit what she needed. A few days after she started using it she rang just to tell me how much she liked it. That was lovely to hear.

Bought this for shade at music festivals over the summer.

Bought this for shade at music festivals over the summer. It's so cute and I won't be panicking about every little mark at this price. Not expecting some fancy top quality thing, just something useful to take along. So far it's exactly that and still looks really cute!

Lives up to what I saw in the video!

Lives up to what I saw in the video! Ordered one for myself and several for Christmas gifts. The delivery got tangled up right around the holiday.... at one point it seemed the parcel had simply disappeared. Thankfully the people handling it got things sorted, and the umbrellas reached us in perfect condition before Christmas Eve. I can't say exactly what went on behind the scenes, but it was a relief. Great umbrellas and a big thank you for sorting it out!!!

Tiffany Moss

It ALSO has a carry sleeve, which is handy for putting it away.

The gray looks VERY pretty - chose this for my youngest to use for shade. The handle has a closed loop shape, a little different from the usual. It ALSO has a carry sleeve, which is handy for putting it away. Press the button to open it, then again to bring the canopy down, THEN push the shaft back in by hand. Took me a moment to work that out. A little pricey, but the umbrella feels nicely made, so I don't feel bad about spending it.

Haley Strong

Quite a generous umbrella once it's up.

Quite a generous umbrella once it's up. Folded, it takes less room than the long ones, though I wouldn't call it tiny. The loop at the bottom is a different feel in the hand, I suppose you get used to it. Walking with it open is fine, but I do notice the weight after a while.I'll have to wait and see about long term wear. The ribs feel flexible rather than flimsy, and the fabric looks neatly finished. Pressing the button shuts the canopy, then you push the telescoping part in yourself. That's straightforward, just an extra movement when you're trying to put it away. Getting the folds tidy takes a moment, though the smaller packed size is certainly convenient. Overall I like the coverage and solid feel, I'm just hoping that feeling lasts with regular use.

Mike Rubio

Quite a surprise the first time.

My wife and I had a trip to Rome coming up, with "rain and wind" in the forecast, so I picked this up while shopping for luggage. Press that button and it really springs to life! Quite a surprise the first time. Out in the wet weather it felt much more substantial than I expected from a folding umbrella, and kept its shape nicely when the wind picked up. Not the cheapest thing I've bought, admittedly. But after using it on that trip I felt the money was well spent. An enthusiastic "YES" from me!

Ian Erickson

My mother gave my daughter this umbrella when she was 4.

My mother gave my daughter this umbrella when she was 4. She is 7 now and I still remember how much use she got from it. For the first two years, even a tiny bit of rain was enough reason to take it out! She isn't especially careful with her things, so I was impressed by how well it held up to all that use. I don't count an accident with a friend stepping on it as a reflection of the quality. Before that it had been a brilliant little umbrella for her. The green was lovely and she was always keen to carry it herself. MONEY VERY WELL SPENT!!!! When you have a child who is rough on nearly everything, finding something that stays useful for that long really stands out. I would happily make the same choice again!!!

Manuel Gould

This is VERY solid by comparison, not flimsy at all.

Needed an umbrella for my laptop bag because the cheap ones were lasting me about half a year each. This is VERY solid by comparison, not flimsy at all. Using the button is straightforward and it hasn't turned inside out on me. Wouldn't mind a bit more width overhead, though I chose a compact one so that's on me! For those hurried walks to the train station in the city, it has been a very worthwhile upgrade.

Herbert Gilbert

Looks well made and feels sturdy once open.

Looks well made and feels sturdy once open. The grip is pleasant enough, although I'd say it's better suited to smaller hands than mine. Takes a fairly firm press on the button compared with others I've had, not a big deal for me. For the money it's a good buy.I'd recommend it as a spare or to replace an old umbrella. Worth having one around if you're without a decent umbrella.

Benjamin Pollard

it's a nice plain colour and looks just as I hoped.

For my trip to Europe I wanted an umbrella that wouldn't take up too much of the bag. I'm glad I chose the Cream White; it's a nice plain colour and looks just as I hoped. It folds to a manageable size, although I wouldn't call it one of those tiny handbag umbrellas. The button opening is convenient, and there's enough cover for me on my own. Two people would have to get rather close. My only real hesitation is the price, which seems a little high for an everyday compact umbrella, but it does suit what I need for the trip.

Doris Wiggins

The gray is nice and the whole thing seems solid.

My two year old has been wanting an umbrella like her older sister. I didn't want her wrestling with buttons and folding bits by herself, so this is one we use together. I do the opening and closing with the button, and push the shaft back in afterwards. She gets to stand underneath looking very pleased with herself. It is a decent size rather than a tiny toddler umbrella, but not awkward for me to take along. The gray is nice and the whole thing seems solid. A winner in our house.

Chelsea Lewis

I picked one up for my granddaughter, aged 2 1/2.

I picked one up for my granddaughter, aged 2 1/2. She was enchanted with it and wanted to keep trying it out as soon as she saw it.It feels nicely put together and not flimsy at all. This is a normal folding umbrella, not a little child's toy, so I handle the opening and closing and help her hold it. There is lots of room for her underneath. The pink looks so sweet in person, much nicer than I could really tell from the photograph.I was very happy with it, and she was absolutely delighted.

Kristine Mcguire

Easy to put back in my bag.

Feels light enough to carry and the frame seems strong, though I haven't tested it in a proper thunderstorm. Best thing for me is how a quick shake gets most of the drops off the canopy. I still let it dry before packing it away, but it doesn't sit there dripping for ages. Easy to put back in my bag.

Gail Mata

It's been a really useful umbrella.

It's been a really useful umbrella. I've stayed dry in proper rain, and on walks with my dog I can keep a fair bit of him under it too. The only fiddly part for me is getting the fabric neat again after closing it in a hurry. Taking a moment to straighten the folds sorts that out, so nothing serious. Very glad I bought it and would recommend.

Henry Heath

The frame feels solid and everything works as it should.

Not quite the luxurious feel you might get by spending much more, but a decent umbrella for the price. The frame feels solid and everything works as it should. Only the button feels a bit plasticky to me, although it's operated without any trouble so far. Overall I'm satisfied and would choose this again if I wanted something practical without a big outlay.

Levi Christian

a good middle size.

Enough umbrella to cover me without feeling like I'm hauling something enormous... a good middle size.Feels strong too and has done well in the rain here. I'd sooner buy one like this than keep picking up flimsy ones off the street, they never seem worth the saving in the end!

Gary Eaton

The automatic canopy action, opening AND closing, is my favorite part!

The automatic canopy action, opening AND closing, is my favorite part! I've had this sort of umbrella before and really miss it when I use a manual-closing one. That one I received as a gift mostly stays in the closet now. Trying to carry two coffees, a bag and keys through a doorway leaves no spare hand for wrestling with wet fabric.........a quick press brings the canopy in, and I compress the shaft later when I'm inside. It makes that whole juggling act so much easier!

Caitlin Henderson

I love this umbrella.

I love this umbrella. The gray looks very neat, and the canopy gives me good cover without having to hunch my shoulders up against the rain. It opens quickly and the handle is comfortable to hold -- makes me wonder why button opening isn't on every umbrella. The only drawback is that my wrist starts to feel the weight after carrying it for a long stretch, especially if it's windy. Still, for my usual outings I'm very happy with it.

Jordan Cameron

Even had a couple of girls comment on how nice my umbrella looked...

I'm on my second one of these, and not because the first wore out. I left it on a plane and couldn't get it back. Was so annoyed with myself that I ordered the same umbrella again the next day. That's how much I like it. For what it costs it feels like a bargain; I'd honestly have paid quite a bit more. Even had a couple of girls comment on how nice my umbrella looked...I'm not making that up.
